(Name) turned and crouched down, pulling his head into her chest to soothe him. (Name) had siblings, so seeing a child cry like tugged at her heartstrings.

“It’s okay, take your time. What’s going to happen?”

An hour later and (Name) was gone. After explaining as much as he could, he took her home and made sure her parents knew that they were in danger.

Normally they wouldn’t just believe that, but a child of the Zoldyck family telling them that their daughter was going to be assassinated sure helped her case.

He had to leave after that to not cause any suspicion, so he didn’t get to make sure she actually survived. Illumi’s reaction when he came back from killing the “terrorist” and visiting her home didn’t really give Killua much hope.

Over time Killua forgot about her, to protect his heart.

Until now.

Present Time

Killua watched (Name), a content look on his face. He reminded (Name) of a cat that had just been given a can of tuna.

“Two more have qualified!”

(Name) lifted her head up just in time to see Kurapika and Gon arrive, quickly hunching over to catch their breath. (Name)’s face brightened.

“Over here!” she called. The two walked over slowly, seeing Leorio starting to wake up with a huge bump in his cheek.

“Ah, (Name), you made it.”

Kurapika was the first to speak after catching his breath. He offered her a smile.

“Yeah, I’m pretty surprised I was able to make it myself.”

She decided to keep her needing to be saved to herself. It embarrassed her just a little bit that she couldn’t go through the swamp by herself, but directions weren’t her strong suit. No matter, this was a good lesson for her and she’d be more prepared next time.

“Don’t sell yourself short, you were even here before me.”

Killua plopped down beside (Name), leaning his head on her shoulder.

For just a second he was back to being a little kid, leaning on (Name)’s shoulder while she gently brushed her fingers through his hair. She never complained about having to watch him and always listened to him cry about his situation. He wishes he was that kid again now, but he wasn’t, and she didn’t even remember him.

As quickly as he leaned on her shoulder, he leaned back and stood.

“I’ll be right back.”

They all watched him walk away. Gon looked between Killua and (Name).

Gon hadn’t known Killua long, but Killua didn’t seem the type to relax so easily around someone he didn’t know. He stored this interaction in his mind for later.

“Ah… my head.”

(Name) quickly turns towards Leorio who was groggily blinking, rubbing his cheek with a scowl on his face.

“Phase Two of the exam will occur here, in the Biska Forest Park. Best of luck to all of you.”

After his last few words of encouragement, Mr. Satotz walked away back where they came.

The group of renaming applicants were left in front of a large gate, which began opening as Mr. Satotz was out of sight.

“Will all applicants who passed the First Phase please enter?”

Inside of the gated walls was a mansion sized home with two figures sitting in front of the door. One was a tall, rotund man, another a petite woman.

“Welcome. I’m Manchi, the Second Phase examiner,” the petite girl called, relaxing against her chair. The man behind her smiled widely.

“And I’m Buhara, the other examiner.”

The crowd joined the two examiners in the front yard of the mansion, silent before they hear something akin to a rawr.

“What was that sound?”

The petite girl looked back to her large companion.

“You must be hungry.”

“I’m starving…”

Manchi stood from her seat with a huddle. “There yiu have it! Phase Two will involve…”

(Name) tilted her head.

“Cooking!”

The crowd broke out into whispers, and some angry complaints.

“Wait, cooking!? We’re here to take the Hunter Exam!”

“Your challenge for the second Phase is to produce a dish that will satisfy both of our palates.”

“Why do we have to cook?”

She put her hands on her hips, seemingly a bit irritated.

“That’s because we are Gourmet Hunters.”

(Name) jumped to attention. If cooking for gourmet hunters was what she needed to do, she would try her best. She was the daughter of a baker and chef after all, she wasn’t a novice in the kitchen.

Most of the crowd begins laughing, insulting the Gourmet Hunters. The once only slightly irritated Manchi looked angry now.

“Buhara.”

He stepped forward and banged his stomach like a gong.

“The required ingredient is pork. You’re free to use meat from any species of Biska Forest pigs. You must use the cooking facilities here to prepare the pork, and you only pass if we both find it delicious.”

“And we will evaluate more than just the taste, so don’t underestimate the intricacies of cooking. Got it? When we’ve both eaten our fill, the exam will end.”

“We get it, let’s just start.”

Manchi sighs, and Buhara raises his hand.

“Then, the exams Secind Phase begins now!”

With the bang of his stomach, all of the contestants leave the area to search for their main dish.

-State the character you want. You can have up to 3 in a headcanon post, and 2 in a Oneshot post. Oneshot characters have to be in the same media, but you can mix and match any of the characters I write for in heacanon requests.

Ex.

Hc requests: I want to know what Kurapika, Gojo, and Chrollo do when their girlfriend is on their period

Oneshot request: Hi, can I get a oneshot with Kurapika x Reader x Chrollo where she has to learn to live with the fact her partners hate each other and are constantly vying for her affections?

-Don’t make it TOO long. Keep it down to a few paragraphs at most. Making it too long makes it harder to respond to because it makes the post look too long. You can make it detailed, but I’m more likely to pick shorter, more succinct asks/requests.

-be clear about what you want. Make sure you clarify things so things don’t get confused!
