➵ her hands would cup the back of your head, looking down to the wound covering your stomach – blood gushing through your clothes.

➵ illari was usually confident when it came to healing another, but when it came to you it was another story.

➵ she’s frantic, quickly deploying her pylon next to you – ignoring the stream of gunshots and ticking bombs in the background, “it’s okay, you’re okay.”

➵ she was convincing herself more than you.

➵ while the pylon emits waves in order to help heal you, illari frantically searches for her gun to aid in healing you faster.

➵ “you’re okay, you’re okay, I’m here” repeats illari over and over.

➵ you weren’t worried, because your love was here and you trusted her with your life.

➵ hands settled atop of illari’s shaking ones, you assure her, “I’m all better, see?”

➵ the wound has settled, already closed up as you sit up to continue into battle.

➵ illari aids a hand to help you to your feet, and ensures to stand in front of you for the rest of the mission. And keeping the pylon beside you no matter what.

➵ kiriko’s more calm, while she is internally worried, she immediately teleports when she sees the impact you took to your body.

➵ throwing her weapons in the direction of the enemy who attacked you, she asks the team to allow her extra time before turning to you.

➵ “okay, honey. it’s not all bad, easily fixable.”

➵ there’s tears strolling down your face that kiriko notes to kiss along later on when alone and in comfort. Safe from the current mission.

➵ “will I be okay?”

➵ she thinks you’re crazy, “of course, your kickass support girlfriend is here to help. ready?” kiriko replies, trying to keep your mood light as you nod before sending a stream of healing talismans towards the wound.

➵ immediately you’re sighing in relief, kiriko planting a soft kiss to your head before her magical hands reach out to help you up.

➵ she’s gone in a second, you know she has to help the whole team, but the moment you might take any form of pain – she would be back by your side to keep you safe.

Hi I just realised something-

So though it's obvious that Kiriko and Genji were closer, Kiriko is seemingly being paired off with Hanzo. They have more plot relevant interactions, they have more interactions together in general (at least on the wiki), and their being paired together in Hanzo's upcoming short story. So why am I pointing this out?

Genji and Cassidy new Interaction;

I have been adement about the fact that Genji and Hanzo will never, and should never, have a close brother bond. At least in the way that people often characterise them, and this seems to prove it. Genji seeing Cassidy as an older brother is very much an idication of how close they are, something that Hanzo and Genji never were. I think this is part of the reason why Genji did get a little better over time despite the shitty circumstances Blackwatch provided.

Now why do I bring this up?

I think Kiriko is going to be the same thing for Hanzo.

Both Kiriko and Cassidy are Hanzo and Genji's second chances at a positive sibling relationship.

GOD I love narrative parallels!

I think I found method in the Overwatch writers madness

Specifically on Kiriko's age.

So for a Tracer post I was making, specifically on Declassified, I talked about how Lena didn't age in the two years she was suffering from chronal dissociation. This made me curious on if Lena is actually 28 chronologically or biologically. So I ended up searching up Mei's Bio on the official website, which only lists her biological age.

Which means that Lena's listed age is probably her biological one...

Meaning if we go with the theory that Kiriko's connection to the fox spirit (or whatever technology she possesses) slows or stops her aging, then her bio wouldn't be her chronological age listed, but her biological one.

What furthers this is that when the inconstancies with Sojourns age was pointed out they changed it but they have not done the same for Kiriko, who has gotten just as much complaints, if not more, as Sojourns age. So why haven't they changed it considering both of these things have happened at the same time?

What furthers this even more was Gavin Jurgens-Fyhrie (the Lead Narrative Designer and writer) response to the issue;

As someone who writes a lot of stories myself I don't see this as "oh we didn't think it through" I read this as "there is more to the story."

Now with Sojourn my reasoning didn't apply, that was a genuine mistake and an easy on to make as in present lore, Sojourn is more associated with the 2nd gen (characters in their late 30s-40s) so making her 47 made sense on paper but not with the rest of the history of the Overwatch lore. Making Sojourn 47 was a genuine mistake.

So if it was the same with Kiriko, why not her age too?

Because it wasn't a mistake, at least if we go with the "Kiriko doesn't age normally" theory. It also makes sense as to why Kiriko would have this ability and not the Shimadas. The Fox Spirit (or whatever science they use to explain Kiriko and the Shimada's powers) is used for healing while the Dragons are used for fighting. Hell Kiriko's ult actively up the performance of other heroes, so it's not out of the realm of possibilities that something like the Fox Spirit, something that is literally a part of Kiriko, would have some biological benefits, such as slower aging.

Honestly this could just be me grasping at straws, I just find it weird that if the devs did make a mistake with Kiriko's age too then why didn't they change it with Sojourns.

he doesn't have any particuliar taste he just doesn't like very loud music

he likes japanese bossa nova and listens to it when he parctices/medidates

he probably asked lucio why he has to pay for spotify premium and asked him to get him a cracked version of it because he refuses to pay for it (he actually has a lot of money but has a love/hate relationship with americans *staring at cassidy intenifies* but deep down it's really because he doesn't know how to properly use the app without lucio's help but he doesn't want to admit it because it makes him feel old)

I JUST KNOW MY BABYGIRL SECRETELY LIKES KPOP GIRL GROUPS LIKE TWICE AND NEWJEANS (kiriko secretely added newjeans music in his playlist)

listens to shiloh dysnasty, lofigirl lives when he needs to focus on signing his family's papers, he likes tyler the creator but only flowerboy and call me if you get lost because his others albums would be too "violent" for him (don't forget he's an old man 😔 /hj)

HE OBVIOUSLY LIKES CLASSICAL MUSIC like some mozart or chopin or even beethoven

he either has too many playlists or like only his liked songs one (but he doesn't now how to use spotify so he always asks you or lucio on how to do it)

he definitely likes lamp and even went to some of their concerts

oh and he plays shamisen too, his parents gave him and his brothers lessons since it's something very dear to them as music is a very big part of the shimadas' culture

"hi there sakura! do you want to listen to music together?" and then he'd pat the seat next to his for you to sit on

since he's (kind of) a robot i feel like he listens mostly to breakcore and jungle dnb, it depends on his mood

he likes bossa nova too but is more into japanese rap

although he's more of an extrovert than his brother, he still needs his time alone, but he'll never mind your presence

"oh? hello there little mouse" as he notices you came in his room. he always sets a bare cushion on the floor for you to sit on. "do you want to listen to music together?"

i feel like he'd like 90's/2000's rap like mf doom, tupac and ice cube because lucio made him discover some of their songs ( i want them to have a thing together aa "but he's already with mercy" CRY ABOUT IT I DONT CARE no one can stop me from writing a genji x lucio fic MWAHAHAHA THIS IS GONNA BE SO RANDOM

though basically he's more of a sewerslvt/ my head hurts type of person (a/n: please listen to my head hurts if you like breakcore their music is so good)
