Oh!!! It's a good thing I was staying up late or else I might've missed this!! (Oh god this got a lil long, I'm so sorry ajdgskahd)
Using she/her, how about a kakegurui one where R(eader) is a relative of Yumeko's, maybe her sister (or cousin could work too), and it's like. Yumeko's the fun loving one, her canon sister I imagine is the calm one, and R is like the angry takes no shit from anyone type, and she's there to watch over Yumeko's trouble attracting ass to keep her inline, so to focus on that, she doesn't gamble (Yumeko does enough of that for both of them) but now that's making trouble turn to R instead in the form of an infuriating Kirari, R like back talks to her and would probably bite a hand that gets too close if she has to, and when Kirari in one (underhanded) way or another manages to corner R into a gambling match with some poor soul so Kirari can observe her, R shows that she's just as good and insane as her relatives (though calms down faster?) , aaaahh I don't know what else to add on or how to end this, can't think much this late so here you go!! I hope you have fun!!
The Jabami Blood Flows
Jabami Sister Reader, Yumeko Jabami and Kirari Momobami (Platonic)
A/N: Here it is! Sorry I didn’t really get into the gamble. I couldn’t make myself research exactly how craps works and I’m not smart enough to calculate any math or cheats. The canon gambling timeline might be a little messed up too because it’s been awhile… But I think I captured the spirit of what you were asking for. Thanks for reading! Word Count: 2,523
(Y/n) couldn’t remember what life was like when her parents were alive, nor could she really remember what her oldest sister Souko was like before Yumeko had to send her away to live in that special hospital. All she knew was that life as a Bami was eat or be eaten, take or be taken from, and she hated it.
When Yumeko told (Y/n) of her plans to transfer to Hyakkaou, she was dead set against her going. That was where she went to school, Momobami Kirari. The one who had a hand in their older sister’s decline in mental health along with their own aunt. However, nothing that she said to Yumeko could get her to change her mind. So (Y/n) did what any good and responsible sister would do and filled out her own transfer papers so she could tag along.
It was difficult keeping track of Yumeko when they were two years apart, especially when the middle school was in a separate wing of the sprawling building.
But after she had heard about Yumeko becoming a house pet within the first week, (Y/n) had nearly blown a gasket. In retaliation, she quickly sized up the casino disguised as a school and realized the students could do basically whatever they wanted. (Y/n) was disciplined, a diligent worker and good student, so she got all of her schoolwork ahead of time and did it at home so she could keep an eye on Yumeko throughout the day.
She allowed Yumeko to take part in the Debt Swapping Game to undo the damage she had done to herself and her “new friend” Saotome, but after that (Y/n) was all over her… not that her nagging was very affective, unfortunately.
“You’re so cute when you pout!” Yumeko gushed, squeezing (Y/n)’s cheeks.
(Y/n) grabbed her sister’s wrists and groaned, “Neesan, I’m serious! No more gambling! We have the money, pay off the debt so you can stop wearing that ridiculous tag!”
“Sweet little sister, always looking out for me. You don’t worry so much, okay? I want to keep this tag just for awhile longer.”
“Why? It makes no sense, people treat you worse than an animal!” (Y/n) only got more upset the longer this conversation dragged on, “Get rid of it!”
“I’m not going to do that,” Yumeko smiled, somehow so carefree, “it makes for some really interesting gambles!”
“You’re so stupid!” (Y/n) suddenly yelled, finally shocking the smile off of Yumeko’s face, replaced by mild surprise, “It’s like you want to end up like Oneesan, you want to leave me all alone!”
“(Y/n)—“ Yumeko reached out her hand to (Y/n) but she ran passed her and kept running until she found an empty classroom to cry in.
She couldn’t cry forever though, and soon fell into a quiet, simmering anger that began to boil the more she thought about how their lives had come to this.
“Momobami Kirari.” She hissed hatefully. She ruined Souko and was in the process of taking Yumeko away from her too. Well, (Y/n) wasn’t going to standby quietly.
She wiped her eyes and and stood up, tromping through the halls, she followed the signs until she came to the Student Council room and without bothering to knock, she pushed the door open with a loud thump, making the pair that resided within look up.
“You can’t just charge in here like that!” Sayaka was quick to reprimand.
But Kirari put up a hand, “Don’t be troubled, Sayaka. It’s just one of my dear little cousins paying me a visit. I’d recognize a Jabami anywhere. Care for tea, (Y/n)? I haven’t seen you since you were quite small, you’ve grown a lot.”
“Jabami…” Sayaka’s mood soured a bit more. One Jabami was already one snake too many.
“And you look very cute in the middle school uniform.” Kirari continued on, tilting her head towards Sayaka, “I remember your middle school days Sayaka, you looked very cute in that uniform too, although this one is nice as well.” She tugged on the hem of Sayaka’s jacket for emphasis.
“Thah- thank you, President.” And like that, Sayaka was subdued, but still a little wary of their impromptu guest.
“I don’t want your stupid tea, or small talk!” (Y/n) yelled. “I want you to get rid of the house pet system!”
“You can’t just storm in here and demand such a thing!” Sayaka bristled.
“Ah, is Yumeko refusing to pay off her debt?” Kirari sat back in her chair slightly, “Unfortunately for you, I’m not inclined to accept your request. Your sister is just too fun to watch.”
“I hate you!” (Y/n) seethed, Kirari’s eyes widened, but it was clear amusement rather than surprise at the outburst, “I hate what the Bami clan is under your rule! If it was someone else— if things could have been different— My parents would be alive, Souko wouldn’t be in the hospital and you wouldn’t be trying to take Yumeko from me right now! I hate gambling! I hate that when people gamble, they are risking the happiness of people they are supposed to care about too! I hate you for pitting everyone against each other all the time! You have the power to stop all this before we all destroy each other for good, but you don’t use it, and I despise you for it!”
“Oh my,” Kirari cupped her between her thumb and index fingers, “so much resentment for a girl so young. Are you sure you aren’t Saotome’s little sister?” She chuckled.
“This isn’t funny!”
“Is it not? I find it a bit amusing at least. For someone with Jabami blood flowing through her veins, you are very adamantly going against your nature. It’s interesting. You might be one to watch as well.”
“What the hell is that supposed to mean?”
“I think Yumemi has plans for your sister today. You might want to start making your way to the auditorium to cheer her on.” Kirari said instead, steepling her fingers in front of her coral blue lips.
A look of realization and then dread fell over (Y/n)’s face. She gave Kirari one more glare, then bolted from the student council room.
“What a rude girl!” Sayaka huffed. “Has she no respect for upperclassmen at all?”
“Easy Sayaka,” Kirari soothed with a teasing lilt, “I think my week just became a little more interesting.”
***
In the days after Yumeko’s admittedly unique gamble against Yumemi, (Y/n) had taken to giving her dear older sister the cold shoulder. It made Yumeko sad and pouty of course, but until she could promise (Y/n) that she was done gambling for good, (Y/n) refused to talk to her. She started going back to her classes like normal instead of following her sister around and did her best not to think about all the bad situations Yumeko could be putting herself through.
But she couldn’t ignore her sister for long, not when an unfamiliar upperclassman came to her classroom to summon her for a gamble. Apparently, Yumeko had got herself in a lot more trouble than (Y/n) had dared thought possible, or so the house pet had claimed.
“Where is she? Yumeko!” (Y/n) ran into the room, only turning around when she heard the door lock behind her. “Hey! What are you doing? Open the door!”
“That was a lot easier than I thought it would be.”
(Y/n) whipped her head to the back of the room to see a tired looking upperclassman, another house pet, sitting at a fancy craps table in front of a large mirror that almost took up the whole wall.
“I’ve been waiting for an opportunity like this to get back at Jabami for what she and Saotome did to me at that damn debt swapping game. You’re her little sister, right? What am I saying, of course you are.”
“What do you want? Who are you?” (Y/n) asked defensively.
“Kiwatari Jun.” The upperclassman answered with a smirk, “And I’m gonna turn you into a house pet.”
“Like hell you are. You can’t force someone into a gamble unless they are part of the council. Unlock the door.” (Y/n) commanded, but Jun chuckled darkly.
“You’re right, I can’t make you do anything, but the door is locked from the outside, and I don’t have the key.”
“Then I guess we’re just stuck here forever until we die.” (Y/n) hotly retorted.
“Not the case,” he knocked on the mirror behind him. “See this, it’s a one way window. People can see us, but we can’t see them. Once we gamble, someone will come and let us out.”
“I’m not going to gamble you.”
“You will. Word is your sister is going on a gambling tear without you yapping in her ear. She’s got a real big gamble coming up today with that crazy Beautification Committee officer. You know, the one who likes swinging a gun around.”
“Yumeko already gambled her and was disappointed. She wants nothing to do with Ikishima now.” (Y/n) had really hated that gamble. It was exceedingly frightening. She was glad Yumeko had been put off by Midari’s recklessness in some shape.
“She came up with a new gamble that really has your sister going. Safe to say she’s giving her another chance. I don’t expect you to believe me, but is it really a risk your willing to take? If you aren’t there… you might not see her again.”
(Y/n)’s blood froze. She didn’t want to believe this guy, in fact, she was sure he was lying, but her fear of losing Yumeko was stronger than reason. Saving Yumeko was the only thing she could think of that was truly worth gambling for…
“What is the game?” She finally asked through gritted teeth.
“Craps,” he swept his arm over the table, “A simple dice game, what do you say?”
“I want to test the dice.”
Jun exhaled though his nose, “Not a gambler, huh? You sure seem to know what to look for.”
“When you grow up in the world that I have, you can’t help but pick up a thing or two.” (Y/n) sat down at the opposite side of the table, she could feel her heartbeat picking up like it would at the starting line of a race, or before reading a speech in class. She hated the feeling. She hated how her body loved the feeling. The excitement of doing something that felt totally crazy.
Despite not remembering her mother very well, she was definitely her daughter. That blood flowed through her veins as it did with Yumeko and Souko. A red glow briefly reflected off of her eyes.
“Are we doing this, or not?”
All of Jun’s little tricks were exposed round after round, but even if (Y/n) had let them slide, she was rolling perfectly every time, a skill she had picked up by merely watching Souko practice as a toddler, just a baby even. If she wasn’t so dead set against gambling, she could probably be making millions of yen a week. Her playing style reminded Jun more of Mary, but every once in awhile, she’d make an absolutely insane call that could only be something a Jabami would ever think to do.
It didn’t take long before all of the money the student council had leant him was on the other side of the table and with it, his dreams of freeing himself from his house pet chains. Now he was another four million yen in the hole.
“No… you’re just a snot-nosed middle schooler!” He hissed, pounding his fists against the table, making the dice and chips clink together. “I was supposed to win.”
“Idiot.” (Y/n) smirked, the red gleam appeared in her eyes once more, “Don’t you know nothing is guaranteed in gambling, nothing but disappointment for someone anyway.” She got up from her chair, not even caring to take her winnings with her. “A pity a had to lose my no gambling streak because of you. You weren’t even a challenge.”
She walked over to the door, pleased to see it was already opening in anticipation of her approach. She was a little surprised to see it was Sayaka who opened the door, however. She was even more surprised when Sayaka pulled her forward and a zapping noise met her ears, followed by a heavy object hitting the ground. She turned to see Jun curled up on the floor and saw the taser in Sayaka’s hand. He must have been coming up to attack her for humiliating him so badly.
“You never learn, do you, Kiwatari?” Sayaka tisked, “Lose with dignity for once.”
“Thank you for the show, Jabami (Y/n).” Kirari rounded the corner seconds later. She must have been watching from the other side of the glass. Suddenly this impromptu gamble was making a lot more sense. Jun didn’t seem smart enough to come up with a scheme like this himself.
“I should have paired you up with someone interesting, but I wanted to see what I was working with first. You did not disappoint. We will have to do something like this again soon.”
“No way,” (Y/n) could already feel herself coming down from the brief high of gambling a upperclassman into submission, “I’m not going to let you catch me in a position like this again. No way in hell! Yumeko isn’t even in trouble, is she?”
Kirari smiled, “No, she’s not. However, I’m sure I could make an offer or two you simply would not be able to refuse. Whether it’s to forbid your sister from gambling in this school again, ending the house pet system, dethroning me as student council president, or even as the head of the Bami clan, I’m sure we could work something out. I think it would be really exciting for us to gamble one day.”
(Y/n) hated the shiver of excitement that ran up her spine. There were a couple of options in that short list she wouldn’t mind seeing to fruition, yet she shook her head and bumped into Kirari as she passed her.
“Just stay away from me!”
“I’ll be seeing you around, (Y/n). Have a good rest of your day.” Kirari waved, watching (Y/n) stomp away with amusement.
***
“Oh, (Y/n)?” Yumeko was surprised that after days of the cold shoulder, (Y/n) had sought her out for a hug, but she was very happy for the suprise affection to say the least and instantly returned the embrace. “You’re being so sweet to me! What brought this on, I wonder?”
“Don’t gamble with Ikishima ever again, got it?” (Y/n) ordered, “And always make sure you have your phone on you so I can ask you what you’re up to, okay?”
“Okay, okay!” Yumeko giggled, “You don’t have to worry. That person you just mentioned is dead to me anyway.”
A strangled moan of Yumeko’s name could be heard in the distance, but no one acknowledged it.
“Hey,” Yumeko’s eyes lit up, “let’s go do something fun this weekend. Just you and me, anything you want, okay?”
A small smile worked its way onto (Y/n)’s lips and she nodded, hugging her sister tighter.
“Yeah!”

Do you have any suggestions for getting into the character's POV writing? I always feel like mine is superficial.
When it comes to that, I believe the most important thing is to figure out the voice of the character. Voice and characterization aren’t the same thing, but they do go hand in hand.
Whether you’re writing in 1st or 3rd person, you are presenting the world through the eyes of a specific person. The readers will have to figure this out on their own, so you’ll have to use specific lines, leave distinctive hints.
In order to put yourself in the character’s shoes, you need to understand what distinguishes them from all the other characters, that peculiar something that makes you go “oh, this is blorbo, isn’t it!”
These are the main questions that I ask myself when figuring out a new narrative PoV:
1) Is this character an introvert or an extrovert? (Meaning, do they passively let things happen around them, commenting to themselves about it, or are they playing a more active role in the story, influencing events and people around them with their actions?)
An example of this in my case would be how I write Kirari vs Ririka (for obvious reasons, I’ll use KKG characters for some examples). I usually write Ririka as someone who minds her business unless she’s forced to do otherwise (and that in itself is also part of characterization, and thus voice). On the other hand, Kirari likes to tease and meddle. If she’s observing a situation, rest assured that it’s only because she either caused it or because she will soon walk right into the middle of it.
2) How do they express themselves?
Ikishima is a rude ass motherfucker in canon. She can and she will curse as often as she pleases, both aloud and in her own thoughts. Her speech is generally crass and it can easily be jarring for those who are forced to listen to her.
Sayaka, on the other hand, fullfills a very important role; in a way, she’s an extension of Kirari within the school, thus she always strives to be impeccable — unless something or someone makes her lose her shit.
Things like cursing, language quirks, the use of dialect and slang are very powerful tools when it comes to shaping a character’s voice.
If you’re writing fanfiction, make sure to re-read or re-watch the source material and try to pay attention to their speech. If you’re writing original characters, figure out things like where they come from, their age, the things that influence them the most, the reasons why they’d speak in a certain manner or not, etc…
3) What do they like and what do they dislike?
Very broad, I know, and that’s exactly why it’s so useful.
If you’re writing from the PoV of a die-hard basketball fan they might make a point to use metaphors and figures of speech connected to that sport. If somebody hates the color yellow and they’re forced to speak with someone who’s wearing a yellow dress, the detail should have relevance, even if it’s so stupidly small.
Sights, smells, sounds, textures, tastes, places, people: literally every human experience calls for a reaction, pleasant or unpleasant. Use this to your advantage!
4) What are their physical traits?
A short person will see the world differently than a tall one. And a fat one from a skinny one, and someone who’s always been considered pretty from someone who’s always been made fun of because of their big ass nose— and so on and so forth.
To make a practical example, Terano uses a wheelchair so of course she won’t be happy to be faced with a flight of stairs. Yumeko has no stamina, so she’ll also have grievances to share.
The readers tend to bond with the characters, and that’s moreso true in fanfiction. Things like bonking your head on things when you’re too tall will make your characters more human, more similar to the readers — and thus more likeable.
Of course, this is a double-edged sword: half of the comments might be “ahah, I do that!” and the other half could be “oh instead of x I usually do y”. Make sure to know what you’re writing about, most importantly if you’ve never experienced the same things as your character.
That’s about all I do.
To summarize: make sure you nail down the characterization of the characters before you attempt to write from their PoV. Every little detail can and will help you express their voice, making it unmistakably theirs.
Of course, practice makes perfect, so the more you write, the easier it will become eventually.
For fairness’ sake, I will also add that this can be obtained on different levels, so I wouldn’t worry about being shallow. You’re not always supposed or able to interpret a character to its fullest, and that’s alright! We’re writers, not actors. Do your best, place all the landmarks that you can think of. I promise most of the readers will figure it out on their own.
Hope this helps!

fic writer interview
tagged by @meikuree, thanks for having me in mind! It’s been a while since I did one of these.
name: NoxCounterspell
fandoms: Currently writing for Kakegurui and Shingeki no Kyojin.
two-shot: The Beginning and the End (or Knocking on Heaven's door), a Kirasaya (KKG) Fic. This was intended to be a one-shot, however ended up being posted in two chapters because it was too long (insert here cynical laughter when I'm currently posting 14k chapters). The project was conceived by a very creative mind and acquaintance that came to me with a very fucking good outline. Together, we managed to create a very immersing post-canon AU, even if I say so myself. This touched a lot of different subjects, everything revolving around the concepts of family and freedom, right versus wrong, the lack of understanding, psychological projection. One of my favorite parts is the tag Meeting the Parents, and how that can play in how the story is perceived.
most popular multi-chapter: To you, the girls lost in Hell (SnK, Mikannie). An absolute whim of mine, taking Yams story and twisting it and shaping it into a narrative that fits snippets of my own imagination, regarding Annie and Mikasa's relationship (this is basically going to be an enemies, to lovers, to enemies, to friends, to lovers). Really, this is a fic entirely about them, for them and how their basic symbiotic relationship: clashing and attraction impacted everything happening on SnK. This is an excuse to study two characters in canon-verse, getting and providing a humble glimpse of how these characters, in the context they are being written, work. Vomiting a heck ton of my own headcanons, I'm trying to add angst, action, psychology and others to the table, following the overall outline Yams created, but redrawing the entire canvas. Honestly, I'm deeply surprised by how well received the story has been. This will try to keep up the intensity, overall, the outline is designed to play with emotions for the whole ride: we know where we begin and where we are going, but the how it's the sting.
actual worst part of writing: Writer's block. Obsessively researching something to realize it just won't fit the story. Self-doubt. Isolating oneself while writing non-stop. The built-in expectations one may have about their writing that might not be met by the end result.
how you choose your titles: One of my favorite parts of writing it's designing titles. Most of them respond to the question of what does the fic need, how can I guide the reader as to why this has been written? So say, To you, the girls lost in Hell is a direct nod to SnK's first manga chapter and the Light Novel: Lost Girls. This story is for Annie and Mikasa, two girls/women left to their own devices, surviving, searching, trying. A message I hope gets delivered. The Time series (Kirasaya, Meariri, Kakegurui) needs definition. Words are concepts we never really stop to decipher, as much as we ignore human behavior. Defining an entire character study by just one word, the context is easily guided: perhaps Fall is the clearest one, how can a character fall and break without them meaning to? I can rant for days as to what's the process I prefer for title creation, but I can summarize in: how can a whole story be told from the very beginning?
do you outline: Yes. My outlines give me an overall idea of how to get from A to Z, without closing the doors to letters from other alphabets. Pretty much every story I start comes from a dialog that won't leave my mind or a very vivid scene I pictured. Building around it - how the narrative goes and comes, rises and falls - is what outlining comes to do in my case. I outline in two stages: overall skeleton (indents, phrases), then, general paragraphs describing each scene. To this, add specific dialogs and phrases that are non negotiable. If I can’t fit them in, then the scene is not working. I like highlighting bits and pieces of the prose. Phrases that will get stuck with the reader and myself.
ideas I probably won’t get around to but wouldn’t it be nice: PACIFIC RIM MIKANNIE. There, I said it. This has been running around my mind for a while but I think it's mostly for the lols and for how much of a nerd I am. I don't think I would write it but there are snippets in my head of what that might look like. There is also an ExMilitary!Annie and Cop!Mikasa Modern AU running around in my head, with them getting into a relationship with twists and turns to pertain to what they've lived, boundaries, psychological walls, PTSD... etc.  For Kakegurui: BLADE RUNNER + ALTERED CARBON AU.  Yes, I like SciFi. I have a heck ton of wips, some might see the light, some might not. We'll see.
callouts @ me: I don’t know what a omniscient, general narrator is. For the love of Dio I can’t wrap myself around how to narrate something without siding with a character. I’ve read examples, designed scenes... and still there is always one character I get introspective with or predominates in the scene and everything, then, sides with them. So I’m faulty of jumping from POV to POV by scenes. Or I write an entire fic based in once character’s perspective. In both instances, I always hope it’s not confusing.  Long sentences without breaks or very stuffy wording is another fault of mine. Probably from the fact that I like to write from thoughts and actions in depth than leaving things to the reader’s imagination. I want readers to see what I see, to feel what I feel. I try to write from a place of empathy, channeling the character and their psyche, and the impact that creates is what I want to reflect. So overdetailing is a dear friend of mine. A very talented fellow fic writer told me that I build until people can’t escape what I wrote. I think that’s both good and bad, as I’m taking the freedom people get when picturing their own version.
best writing traits: Based on comments, narrative and characterization. Again, I try to write from a place of empathy, and I undust my psychology classes each time I’m trying to write a character. I like character studies, dissecting something until it’s raw, how can I make or break a persona that’s already been written, that already has a defined mind/soul. That’s why I love angst and currently, thriller/horror.  I’m, also, obsessive with details. Everything has to be accurate and clock work. Does anyone care if the bus I’m describing actually exists? Not really, but I need to have a model in mind. Is it really necessary to open google maps and calculate how long it would take X character to walk from Tokyo’s University to a fictional apartment building? Certainly not. However I need to know in order to sell it. If it makes sense to me, then I’m comfortable enough to write it. It’s not practical, but allows to create tangible actions/places.
spicy tangential opinion: Very snob of me... but mind your text’s visual presentation. If the text is unappealing to the eye, it can be uncomfortable to read. I like fics (and books as well) that are mindful of the aesthetic in lines of words. Having adequate spacing in between paragraphs, balancing length of sentences, using defined styles for dialogs... Gives a very professional feel to it. I’m all for AUs and canon divergence, but fanfiction has a very fragile requirement that is to respect the character. Do with them whatever you like, have them tap dance or bungee jump, alter their canon-verse or send them to Hogwarts, but keep the essence. How and why is a character acting the way they do is key while writing fanfiction. I’ve read great stories that would have worked best as original fiction, because I can’t feel the characters. Again, a very snob thought.
tagging (no pressure): @ladyjay1616 @askboxangel @blankiebandit and anyone else that may want to join

Happy Holidays Maddy! 💕 Alright, so in the spirit of christmas can we do a Kirari x Sayaka x Reader where the reader invites her girlfriends to their home for the holidays while their parents go visit family? The reader basically teaches them how to have a normal, calm, and small christmas without gambling and stress. Just nice and fluffy <333 (and maybe kirai would be a little clueless to the idea of a normal christmas since they probably had to gamble for their own gifts-)
A Normal Holiday
Kirari Momobami x Sayaka Igarashi x She/Her Reader
A/N: Ignore the fact that it’s January please. If I didn’t have fifty requests to sift through, I would have tried to have this one done earlier. Anyway, hope you like it! Word Count: 2,555
“(Y/n), what is your favorite winter holiday tradition?” Kirari asked out of the blue. Presumably because she was looking for any excuse to not look over the dull election challenge propositions Sayaka had placed before her.
“My favorite tradition?” (Y/n) sat back in her chair as she thought, “I guess I like decorating cookies, the food in general is really good. Sledding can be fun too if there’s enough snow, watching movies, hanging out with the family… it’s too bad, with the election still going on, I’m not going to the family get-together this year.”
“You shouldn’t have to skip out on family time to monitor election matches,” Sayaka voiced, her brow furrowed in concern, “Do you need me to talk to Yomozuki-san to get you time off?”
“No, it’s fine. Besides, I wanted to spend the holidays with my two favorite people. I thought it would be nice.”
Sayaka blushed, a small smile working its way upon her lips. Then, back from her unnoticed pondering, Kirari chimed in,
“I am confused.“
“What about?” (Y/n) asked.
“Does your family not take part in the time-honored tradition of gambling for your right to the family banquet? That’s my favorite and then watching the younger children test their skills to earn desirable items.“
“Oh, uh, no. No, we don’t do that.” (Y/n) was well aware that Kirari’s upbringing wasn’t like most to say the least, but she always managed to catch her off guard with the little insights about her life she would casually drop as if some of the things she said weren’t the most horrifying things (Y/n) had ever heard.
“A shame,” Kirari seemed genuinely put out, “And you, Sayaka?”
“I usually study in preparation for the new term. My parents are away so it makes a conducive study environment.”
Again, (Y/n)’s heart twisted uncomfortably in her chest. Though Sayaka’s family life lacked the extreme eat-or-be-eaten mentality Kirari’s had, they were quite cold and withdrawn. It was no wonder to (Y/n) why Sayaka tried to be number one in all that interested her, number one of (Y/n) and Kirari’s hearts especially since her parents seemed so uninterested in Sayaka’s academic accomplishments.
“This is exactly why you two should come stay at my house over break. I think it would be good for you to try to have a normal holiday where you don’t sit at home alone or watch small children cry because they had to gamble away their toys. Ririka is encouraged to come too if she wants.”
“She told me she was staying with Saotome for break, actually,” Kirari disclosed, “I thought it would be interesting to see how Saotome lives, but she said if I came to her home, it would be, ‘on sight’, whatever that means. Ririka clarified that it was a form of threat. However that’s neither here nor there I suppose, I’ll be happy to join you for break, (Y/n). And you, Sayaka?”
“Of course I’ll come!” Sayaka nearly yelled. She couldn’t fathom loosing out on quality time with either of them.
“Great! Okay, do we want to exchange gifts? If so, we should establish a price limit.”
“Exchange gifts?” Kirari cocked her head to the side, “As in bartering?”
“If it’s easier for you to think of it that way, then sure. You give Sayaka and I something you think we’d like and we each give you something we think you would like. And Sayaka and I give something to each other.”
“Fascinating. And where does the gambling come in? If we lose, do the gifts meant for us get destroyed before our eyes?”
“No, no, there isn’t any destroying. Just giving.” (Y/n) wanted to be as precise as possible for Kirari, but she knew that her words could easily go in one ear and out the other with her.
Kirari hummed, she appeared to be elsewhere in her thoughts, but the little displeased pout of her blue lips at least gave (Y/n) an indication that she had been heard. Whether or not that would matter was yet to be determined.
Sayaka on the other hand looked very invested. (Y/n) could see that she had taken out a notebook. What she could possibly have to take notes on related to gift giving, (Y/n) was unsure.
“What were you thinking for the price limit?” Sayaka asked, a perfectly logical question.
“How about no more than 3,000 yen per gift?”
“Only 6,000 total? That hardly seems adequate.” Kirari chimed.
“It’s plenty for a couple sweet little presents. Trust me.” (Y/n) assured.
After the incident of their six month anniversary where Kirari bought Sayaka and (Y/n) a spaceship ride to the moon, the literal freaking moon, (Y/n) thought it would be a good idea to make sure they stayed in Japan, or at the very least, on Earth by limiting Kirari’s spending.
“If you say so… what can you even get for 3,000 yen? A carton of milk?”
“More than that.” (Y/n) answered with the patience of a saint.
Turning back to Sayaka, she could see the girl had taken out her laptop and a calculator. Her eyes ablaze with determination, she was no doubt treating this as a challenge. (Y/n) reached across the table to still Sayaka’s hands over the keyboard.
“Don’t take it too seriously, sweetie. We’ll love whatever you get us, right Kirari?”
“Anything I receive from Sayaka is sure to be unexpected. I will cherish it always.”
If at all possible, steam would have spouted from Sayaka’s ears from the combined touch and praise. She released a strangled noise of understanding and when (Y/n) pulled away to sit back down in her chair, Sayaka was more interested in slightly swaying in her chair with a giddy smile on her face.
“I had better see if Runa needs me for any last minute gambles before I go home. I need to get the house set up and I have presents to buy,” (Y/n) got up from her chair once more and maneuvered around the table to give Kirari and Sayaka their customary departing kisses, “Come over around noon on Saturday and be prepared to spend the night.”
When Kirari and Sayaka voiced their understanding, (Y/n) left them under the soft blue light of the humming fish tanks, excited to get to work.
***
It was all set.
Nothing too extravagant, but she did put up some decorations and lights around the living room and made the couch into a comfortable fort of sorts, her presents for Kirari and Sayaka placed next to the selection of movies they could choose from. She had sugar cookies baked and cooled, ready to be frosted with a sampling of colors. There would be the usual feel good holiday snacks and dinner as well. There wasn’t much snow outside, but they could make little snowmen if they wanted too. It was sure to be a good experience for the girls. (Y/n) hoped it would have a good impact on them.
The doorbell rang and (Y/n) leapt to the door. She grinned when Sayaka and Kirari came into view. Sayaka was carrying two overnight bags over her shoulders, one presumably Kirari’s, and two presents in her hands. Kirari also had two presents in hand and (Y/n) let out a silent sigh of relief at their ordinary sizes. (Y/n) hugged them both and practically dragged them inside.
“Come on in!”
“I feel as though your home gets smaller every time I see it.” Kirari drawled.
(Y/n) playfully rolled her eyes. She knew better than to be offended by Kirari’s blunt observations.
“It smells very nice in here.” Sayaka complimented softly, the warmth and gentle calm of the space already making the usually stiff and anxiety riddled girl feel more at peace.
“Thank you! Here, I’ll take those bags. You can put the presents by the tv over there.”
(Y/n) put the overnight bags away, then the fun began. They started with decorating cookies. Kirari looked quite interested at the prospect having never had to do any food prep in her life.
Kirari’s cookies looked every bit as if a small child made them. More frosting seemed to get on the counter than the cookies themselves. Meanwhile Sayaka’s looked immaculate, but she had only decorated four out of the thirty cookies (Y/n) had baked in the time it took her girlfriends to do ten each. They helped her out of course, and sampled their work.
“It’s quite good,” Kirari marveled, “I shall take a few back to Ririka when we reconvene. She would enjoy this sort of thing. It is missing the thrill of possibly being poisoned by Miyo and Miri, however.”
“I could mix some salt or something spicy into the frosting of one of the cookies if that’ll help.” (Y/n) half-joked, but seeing the gleam that came across Kirari’s eyes, she found herself desecrating a perfectly good cookie to please the decidedly stranger one of her two girlfriends.
She mixed a teaspoon of salt into a leftover frosting bowl and slathered one of Kirari’s messy cookies with it before putting it in a small line up for Kirari to choose from. Sayaka and (Y/n) watched expectantly as Kirari picked a cookie and took a bite.
“Safe.” Kirari hummed, her tone almost disappointed, before taking another bite.
After washing up, they decided to get cozy and watch a movie. Sayaka had never looked more pink than she was sitting between the other two while sharing a giant, fluffy blanket. She was definitely the most touch-starved out of the three, and when Sayaka seemed to freeze up, (Y/n) was worried they were overwhelming her. But when she tried to give Sayaka more room, her hand reached out to pull her back in.
Sayaka actually ended up falling asleep before the movie was even halfway through. Kirari and (Y/n) spoke softly about the plot over her head as the film progressed, occasionally getting sidetracked by how cute Sayaka looked.
Once the credits began to roll, (Y/n) and Kirari brainstormed what to do next. After spending so much time warming up beneath the blankets, the chill the outdoors promised seemed less appealing. (Y/n) proposed playing a board game and then having dinner.
Kirari was enticed by the idea of a game so (Y/n) let her pick whatever she liked from the cupboard while she tried to rouse Sayaka with a few kisses and sweet words. Her cute, sleepy confusion was so different from the usual serious expression she wore at school.
“(Y/n), what is this Catan game?” Kirari asked, while Sayaka rubbed the sleep from her eyes.
“Oh that one is pretty fun. Basically, you play as a settler and try to collect resources by rolling dice—“
“So it’s gambling?”
“Uh, fundamentally yes. I suppose it is. You want to build settlements and cities near resources with numbers that have a better chance at being rolled, but if someone rolls a seven and you have more than seven cards, you have to give up half of them. It’s both parts strategy and luck.”
“We shall try this one then.” Kirari nodded with finality and strode confidently to the table with (Y/n) and a blanket burrito named Sayaka trailing behind her.
It wasn’t terribly surprising that Sayaka would come out as the winner. She had listened very intently to (Y/n)’s explanation of the rules and took as pure of a strategic stance as she could, not taking chances in placing her initial settlements on unlikely numbers. She also made sure to put them on diverse crossroads to ensure a possibility at every resource available. And she took advantage of the ports, and proposed very diplomatic tradings and got development cards and… yeah she was a beast.
Kirari, conversely, put her initial settlements in questionable places. (Y/n) could defend her first choice of placing a settlement right on the port for two resources instead of three, but then she put her second one between a twelve, a two and the desert. On the bright side, she seldom had to worry about the robber taking her cards when a seven was rolled. In fact, Kirari probably rolled the robber more than anyone which was good for her since it gave her the opportunity to steal a resource card for her meager pile. Then when it came to trading what little she had, she was very…personal about it.
“Sa-ya-ka,” she’d croon, “if you have an an ore to give me, I’ll give you a kiss.”
“Kirari, you can’t just—“ (Y/n) had tried to argue at first, but Sayaka was already pushing the card towards her, biting her lip in anticipation.
(Y/n) pouted and crossed her arms over her chest as she watched Kirari reward Sayaka with a lingering kiss. This behavior would not have flown if this was one of the election gambles that she needed to oversee on a daily basis.
“Done?” (Y/n) asked with a bit of snark when Kirari returned to her seat, leaving Sayaka a little out of breath.
“Not quite,” Kirari smiled, leaning forward, “(Y/n), if you have a grain you are willing to part with, I’ll trade you a kiss.”
(Y/n) sat still for a few beats then quietly slid a card towards Kirari’s pile.
Honestly Kirari probably could have won if Sayaka wasn’t Sayaka.
They left the game out with the intention of playing again later and then got dinner ready. Sayaka was more of a help than Kirari on that front, but thankfully nothing went terribly wrong. They had a pleasant meal and then remembered that there were holiday gifts to open.
First they opened the gifts (Y/n) gave and then the ones Sayaka gave, each was thoughtful and sweet and each recipient made sure to voice their gratitude, but then the time to open Kirari’s gifts came. Sayaka and (Y/n) shared a confused look as the pulled matching sleek keycards from their boxes. At first, (Y/n) though Kirari had ignored the price limit and got them exclusive limitless credit cards or something, but then Kirari supplied,
“You will be able to access my home at any time with those keycards. I trust you’ll make a habit out of using them often. Day,” Kirari smirked, “or night.”
“Kikikikikikiki—“
“I think you broke Sayaka.” (Y/n) managed to say, though she seemed at least a little flustered as well.
“She’ll reset herself soon.” Kirari assured.
(Y/n) leaned over to plant a quick kiss against Kirari’s cheek in thanks, “We will be sure to come bug you often.”
“I would hope so.”
***
They played another round of Catan and then moved back to the couch for another viewing of whatever caught their eye and eventually both Sayaka and Kirari fell asleep. (Y/n) carefully got up from the pile so she could take a picture with her phone. As she looked down fondly at the new photo, she blindly reached for a cookie from the counter.
She was really glad they had been able to get together like this. Hopefully they would continue to do so for years to come. Perhaps they could even get Ririka and Mary in on it, but with how much Mary hated Kirari it probably wouldn’t be likely.
“Oh! Bleh! Gross!” (Y/n) quietly yelled, spitting into the garbage. Of course she would be the one to end up with the salty cookie.

Hi!!!
Could maybe write a Mary from Kakegurui fic where Mary doesn't like reader at all and then the reader starts dating Yumeko and all. After some time they broke up and Mary starts being protective of the reader during games and just in general. A confession at the end and maybe so kiss. It's okay if you don't want to write it.
She/her pronouns.
A Revelation
Mary Saotome x She/Her Reader (Yumeko Jabami x Reader at first, but Mary is endgame)
A/N: Heyyo, thanks for the request. Hope you like the result! Word Count: 2,946
Mary did not like (Y/n). Not that it was an achievement or anything, there were a lot of people that Mary didn’t like. Most of whom, came from her own class. Mary would not soon forget the treatment she had received upon first transferring to Hyakkaou last year.
(Y/n) may not have been one of the students to actively help Kokoro cheat her, but she hadn’t helped Mary either so of course the following year when Yumeko first invited (Y/n) into their little group for the debt swapping game, Mary made sure to let her displeasure be known. She didn’t trust (Y/n) as far as she could throw her, or Yumeko either for that matter. However, she didn’t really have much of a choice in the matter. All she really wanted, what she needed, was to get rid of the debt Yumeko and Yuriko put her in.
Fortunately, their plan worked flawlessly and Jun was the one left with millions in debt. Mary thought that would be the end of it, but no. Somehow gambling with Yumeko once made them all the best of friends. Over time, Mary could admit Yumeko had grown on her, like a cancer, sure, but she grew on her nevertheless.
(Y/n) only seemed to make Mary more exasperated the more she got to know her. She was an awful gambler, she couldn’t even predict the simplest probabilities or see through the most half-baked schemes of her competitors. Yumeko loved the thrill, but it only served to stress Mary out. (Y/n) was naïve, resigned to her station on the lower end of the school hierarchy just a few steps above a house pet. Mary wondered how she even managed to survive as long as she did without Yumeko and herself to drag her around like Ryota.
It was probably because she was so trusting. No matter the ridiculous idea Yumeko came up with, no matter what Mary told her to do, (Y/n) trusted their judgement even if at the time it looked like they were trying to throw her under the bus. That trust was probably the only thing Mary would begrudgingly admit she liked about her classmate. It reminded her of Tsuzura.
Mary rolled her eyes when she walked into the classroom that morning. Yumeko had pressed her desk against (Y/n)’s so she could cling to her. Not unusual Yumeko behavior, but it seemed excessive even for her.
“What are you idiots up to?” Mary grumbled.
“Mary! I asked (Y/n) if she would be my girlfriend and she agreed. Isn’t it wonderful?” Yumeko gushed, hugging (Y/n) tighter.
(Y/n) met Mary’s unimpressed stare and though she was already flustered from the attention Yumeko was giving her, she shied away, flicking her eyes to look anywhere else.
“Figures.” Mary scoffed as if she saw this coming from miles away. She didn’t really, but sure acted as if she did. “Just don’t let this get in the way of our gambles, got it?”
“Wouldn’t dream of it!” Yumeko beamed, rocking (Y/n) in her chair.
Mary didn’t think they could get any more annoying before they started dating, but once Yumeko and (Y/n) had gotten together, Mary could hardly stand them. Sometimes she swears she’d rather play Russian roulette in Midari’s murder basement than be stuck listening to Yumeko sweet talk (Y/n) all day.
And then there was all of the touching.
Yumeko couldn’t seem to keep her hands to herself. If Mary didn’t know better, she’d say her hands were permanently superglued to (Y/n)’s body. Mary had wished on more than one occasion that she could chainsaw Yumeko’s arms off. But perhaps what made her angrier than the touching, was how affected she was by it all. She shouldn’t give a damn what those two did, but seeing them together all the time pissed her off on a more personal level for some reason. Whatever reason that was, she refused to delve into it. She would scowl and bear it, but if she had accidentally walked in on them kissing one more time, she would rip their lips off with her bare hands.
Surprisingly, Mary didn’t have to put up with their relationship for terribly long. After two months, she walked into the classroom to find Yumeko sitting at her desk alone.
“Where is (Y/n)? I almost forgot that you weren’t literally joined at the hip.“
Yumeko sighed, resting her head on her knuckles she smiled sadly.
“I broke up with (Y/n) last night.” She informed.
“Huh?” Mary almost thought she didn’t heard her correctly.
First, there was no way they had broken up. They were so sweet, they made Mary feel the need to reschedule her dentist appointment to an earlier date. Second, when she accepted that yes indeed they had broken up, she couldn’t believe that it was Yumeko, touchy, clingy Yumeko, who initiated the break up.
Mary thought that if they ever broke up, it would be because (Y/n) finally got tired of Yumeko’s suffocating affection.
“Mhm, I realized that after we partook in a gamble last night, that our reasons for gambling are really quite different,” Yumeko explained, “while I gamble because I love gambling, (Y/n) gambles to help those see feels close to. So I realized, it just wasn’t fair to keep her tethered to me, because she only wants to gamble for my sake, not because she genuinely enjoys the thrill.”
“That sounds stupid.” Mary deadpanned. “But whatever, I’m glad I don’t have to watch you two be gross anymore.”
“Mary, that’s so mean!” Yumeko pouted.
Mary rolled her eyes, unmoved, and hung her bag on her desk hook.
“So is (Y/n) sulking at home or is she going to show up, because we were issued a gambling challenge yesterday that we need taken care of today.”
“I did see her this morning by the fountain, but she wasn’t feeling very talkative.”
“I wonder why.” Mary said dryly.
“We agreed to still be friends, but I guess she just needs a little time to herself before things go back to normal. She might skip class this morning. Hm? Mary, where are you going?”
“None of your business. Why don’t you go bother Ryota.”
“Huh?” Ryota turned in his chair, clueless as ever.
Mary walked out of the classroom, not sparing either of them another glance. She wasn’t sure why, but she suddenly felt the need for some fresh air and the fountain just happened to be the best place for that.
There she found (Y/n), sitting on the fountain’s edge with her knees brought up to her chest. Her cheek rested atop her knees as she watched the granite sculpture expel water endlessly.
“Hey.” Mary spoke gruffly, awkwardly.
(Y/n) rose her head, slowly turning towards Mary. She gave her a twitch of a smile, “Hey.”
“God, you look awful. Suck it up,” Mary sat down on the fountain’s edge near (Y/n), “You should be happy. You dodged a bullet. Two months delayed, but you dodged it.”
“Does it really count as dodging when I had to be pushed away?” (Y/n) mumbled.
She didn’t have it in her to get angry at Mary. She could tell that she was trying to cheer her up in that unique and not always helpful Mary sort of way—
“Ow!”
Mary reached out to pinch (Y/n)’s cheeks, a scowl on her face, “Just because you’re sad, it doesn’t mean you can talk back to me! Got it?”
“Got it!” (Y/n) rubbed her tender cheeks once Mary let go.
“We still have that gamble after school, are you gonna have your head in the game, or do we have to try to get out of it?” Mary asked.
“I can handle it.”
“Can you really?” Mary leaned in, scrutinizing (Y/n)’s expression.
“Really!”
“Good,” Mary stood up and brushed off the back of her skirt, “now, if we’re skipping class, we might as well do something worthwhile. I’m getting breakfast. Let’s go.”
“Okay.” (Y/n) smiled a bit more noticeably as she matched Mary’s pace and left the school campus together.
***
Mary only grew more considerate and protective after the breakup, which surprised (Y/n). She knew that Mary was actually quite the softy at heart, but she never had expected to be on the receiving end of Mary’s kindness. It was not something the girl gave out freely.
When Mary had taken her out to breakfast after Yumeko had broken up with her, (Y/n) thought that would be the extent of it. A very kind, one time gesture from a good friend because Mary wasn’t a coddler. (Y/n) was sure Mary had done it as a one time favor, to try to cheer (Y/n) up before their gamble later that afternoon, but Mary continued to check in on her.
When she was in a tough spot while gambling, Mary was always there to help her and if she wasn’t, she’d rush in as soon as she found out. When (Y/n) would mention how rough the school work had been lately, Mary would pull out her notes and help her make improvements. Once after an all-nighter, (Y/n) had accidentally fallen asleep on Mary’s shoulder and Mary didn’t push her off, she let her sleep!
And now a month later, (Y/n) couldn’t deny that she had developed feelings for Mary, and it kind of terrified her. Loving Yumeko had been easy. She was always so soft and warm like a puppy. Mary’s temperament on the other hand, was more like an old, distrustful dog that would snap if you reached into its personal space.
Sure (Y/n) had seemed to earn Mary’s favor, but would bringing up romantic feelings ruin it? Would it make Mary step away, or close herself off entirely?
(Y/n) was too afraid to find out, so she just did her best to bury her feelings deep down where no one could see them, but in a school where reading people was one of the biggest assets one could have, Yumeko took notice and it didn’t take her long to figure out what was going on.
“You should ask Mary out!” She had suggested excitedly, nearly making (Y/n) inhale the swig of water she took from her water bottle.
“What are-“ a cough, “what are you talking about?”
“You would be good together, and you want to be, don’t even try to deny it.”
(Y/n) twirled the bottle in her hands, watching it spin, “Mary doesn’t like me like that. She’s just, that’s how she is when…” words began to allude (Y/n), so she gestured vaguely with her hand making Yumeko laugh.
“…When she likes people.” Yumeko finished for her. “It’s an exclusive club, but I think you are on a higher tier than Ryota, Ririka and I are.”
“I am not.” (Y/n) denied.
“I disagree.” Yumeko grinned. “You definitely get extra special treatment.”
“Yumeko, I do not.” (Y/n) insisted.
“Yes you do!”
“I do not!”
“How about we review some of the things that she only does with you,” Yumeko held up a finger, “one, she holds your hand to pull you around wherever you need to go. I try to hold her hand and she swipes it away from me and threatens violence. Two, she sometimes makes you snacks and gives you thoughtful little gifts. Three, if someone tries to take advantage of you, she’s there to scare them away. Four, she invited you to her house. I am still so jealous about that! Do you need me to keep going?”
“I’m sure there are very logical, platonic reasons for all of that.” (Y/n) argued halfheartedly.
“Oh (Y/n),” Yumeko hugged her, patting her head like a child, “how did we even get to the dating stage?”
“Uh, you told me you wanted to take me on a date?” (Y/n) recalled.
“Oh yeah.”
“What’s happening here?”
(Y/n) and Yumeko turned to find Mary scowling at them.
“Mary, good morning!” Yumeko made the move to jump from (Y/n) to Mary, arms outstretched, but Mary threw out her palm and pushed against her forehead, stopping her from getting too close.
Mary’s hard stare locked onto (Y/n), making her tense up. What did she look so angry for?
“(Y/n),” Mary took her hand away from Yumeko’s forehead suddenly, almost causing her to fall face first into the ground. She grabbed on to (Y/n)’s wrist, pulling her out of the classroom, “come with me.”
“Where are we going?” Yumeko asked.
“You. Stay. Here.” Mary poked Yumeko hard in the chest with each deliberate word.
“Oh,” Yumeko smiled at (Y/n) almost mischievously, “I wonder where Mary is taking you this time, (Y/n). Alone together…”
Mary slid the classroom door shut in Yumeko’s face, nearly snipping off her nose. Then she continued leading (Y/n) away by the hand. When the halls filled with students thinned to nothing the further they went, Mary spoke,
“You aren’t thinking about getting back together with her, right?” She asked.
“Huh? No.” Yumeko was sweet, but once (Y/n) had time to reflect after their breakup, she realized that Yumeko was a big source of stress when it came to her extreme gambling addiction. But why would Mary care so much about the idea of them getting back together anyway?
“Keep it that way.”
“Mary?”
“We’re going to get coffee. I didn’t sleep well last night.”
“Okay.”
And when Mary continued to hold (Y/n)’s hand until they made it to the coffee shop and sat beside her on the same side of the booth they had claimed, (Y/n) thought that just maybe, Yumeko was on to something.
***
Two weeks later, (Y/n) asked Mary to meet her in the library. It was quiet there and kind of like a big maze. So if Mary rejected her, she could just lose herself in the shelves and never be heard from again. She couldn’t believe she was actually going to confess. Her heart pounded as she took note of the time. Mary would be there any minute.
“What’s going on, you look kind of sick.”
(Y/n) whipped her head up to find Mary standing on the other side of the study table. She quickly stood, hitting her thigh against the edge of the table.
“Hey! Be careful.” Mary scolded, coming around the table, “You didn’t hurt yourself did you?”
“No, I’m okay.”
“Now what is this about? Is someone giving you trouble?” Mary already looked like she was blazing a warpath with the look in her eyes alone, but (Y/n) reached out to take her hand.
“No, no one is giving me any trouble. There is just something I wanted to tell you and I’m nervous.”
“Well, unless you did something stupid, you don’t have to be nervous.”
That was Mary for you. So comforting. (Y/n) took a deep breath in through her nose. She could do this. Only a sentence.
“Mary, I really like you and I was wondering if you would want to go on a date with me some time.”
(Y/n) shyly looked around the library, getting more nervous the longer Mary stayed quiet. When she finally gained the courage to face Mary again, she found that she was pleasantly pink, but her expression also conveyed that she might have believed that (Y/n) was the dumbest person in the world.
“What?!” (Y/n) squeaked self-consciously.
“Have,” Mary cleared her throat, “Have we not been going on dates for weeks now?”
“Have we?”
“You’re being serious?”
“Are you? Have we been dating? Since when?”
“Since when—“ Mary was too exasperated to even be angry. “I took you to meet my parents! You think I’d let any of those other dumbasses into the sanctuary my home provides from this insane school?”
“But— I don’t remember— when did you ask me to be your girlfriend?”
Mary’s mouth formed a tight line and she was quiet for a long moment. Then, she slowly turned on her heel to look out the window.
“…I thought it was just kind of a nonverbal understanding. It went without being said.”
(Y/n) was speechless. She honestly didn’t know what else to say. Yumeko had been right, Mary did like her. She liked her enough to consider them girlfriends. A warmth fluttered in her chest and she couldn’t help but laugh.
Mary’s hand shot out to cover her mouth, her cheeks still painted with red when she turned to face (Y/n) once more.
“Don’t you dare laugh. I don’t see what’s so funny about this.”
(Y/n) pried Mary’s hand from her lips, but kept their hands tethered together, shyly intertwining their fingers.
“You’re right. I’m sorry I didn’t understand your intentions sooner, but now at least we will be on the same page. If you still want me, anyway.”
“Of course I still want you.” Mary huffed. “Even if you are the densest fool I know.”
“Hey, at least I actually confessed my feelings directly instead of making assumptions.” (Y/n) grinned.
Mary pursed her lips and clenched her fists. This actually answered quite a few questions she had about the dynamics of their relationship and one of her most pressing questions about why (Y/n) hadn’t tried to kiss her once in the last several weeks. She saw that teasing grin (Y/n) wore now and wanted nothing more than to make it disappear.
“Well then, now that we are on the same page. Can I kiss you?”
“You want to? Already?” The smirk fell from (Y/n)’s lips and her face grew warmer as Mary stepped closer.
“I have been trying for weeks actually. You were really starting to drive me crazy. So, can I?”
(Y/n)’s voice eluded her as Mary got even closer, her brown eyes consuming (Y/n)’s entire vision. She nodded and was swiftly pulled in.

Hello! I've been following you and sending requests for a while now. Your writing is amazing and you always come up with something I never would have expected! May I request a reader recently recruited to the student council making her girlfriend Kirari jealous because now she's hanging out more with the vice president? Thank you and have a good weekend <3
Pay Attention to Me
Kirari Momobami x She/Her Reader
A/N: Hi, good to see you! I just saw about a week or so ago that Kakegurui Twin is getting a season on Netflix and I am so excited! That doesn’t really have anything to do with what I wrote, but I thought I’d share anyway. I was kind of thinking about Kakegurui Kari while I wrote this so if Kirari seems a bit off, that’s probably why. Hope you enjoy! Word Count: 1,548
With Kaede out of commission, the poor fool, the treasurer position of the student council sat newly vacated, but not for long. Kirari had been waiting for an excuse to get her girlfriend on the council for months and now that she finally had one.
All it took was some honeyed words and a cute pout and then the position was filled.
Kirari had expected to sit at the head of the student council table with her girlfriend sitting beside her or better yet, on her lap. Then they would ignore the world around them, conversing through shared looks and touches while the others droned on about boring council business.
What Kirari had not expected, was for her girlfriend to spend all of this new time they could be spending together with Ririka instead.
Meeting about to begin, Kirari at the head of the table with Sayaka standing to her right, Ririka in the chair to her right, and an empty chair to her left. (Y/n) chooses the seat beside Ririka and leaves the chair to Kirari’s left to be filled by Runa.
During the meeting, Kirari tries to catch (Y/n)’s eye, but she’s either whispering with Ririka over a stack of documents or worse yet, actually participating in the meeting’s proceedings. Not even a glance in Kirari’s direction. Kirari pouts and sighs loudly throughout the meeting, but everyone studiously ignores her.
After the meeting, Kirari thinks that surely now (Y/n) will indulge her with some love and attention and waits patiently for the newly appointed treasurer to join her on her throne. Instead she watched blankly as (Y/n) follows Ririka to the connecting records room until the door shut behind them.
After school, Kirari thought now was definitely her time. She and (Y/n) always hung out after school together whether it was to gamble, go to dinner or to her grand estate to watch the fish swim by, they always were together.
But when Kirari approached, wrapping her arms around her girlfriend to rest her chin on her shoulder and whisper in her ear, (Y/n) gave her an apologetic smile and told her she would have to take a rain check. She kissed Kirari’s cheek and then turned back to Ririka, going over the the next paper the masked girl handed her.
Though Kirari looked as aloof as ever, she was actually disappointed by this turn of events. Hopefully (Y/n) would come to her senses the next day.
She did not.
Kirari stepped out of her car as soon as the driver opened her door. She was pleased to see her girlfriend chatting with Sayaka at the front gate, presumably waiting for her.
Kirari waltzed right up, expecting an exuberant greeting and maybe even a kiss as an apology for leaving her to stew in her boredom yesterday.
Instead Kirari barely received a hello before (Y/n) was focused in on Ririka coming out of the car behind her. Then the Vice President and the treasurer walked quickly into the school, leaving Kirari and Sayaka in the dust.
“I just don’t understand it Sayaka. It’s so peculiar.” Kirari walked beside her secretary, wondering what she would make out of this sudden development.
“You gave her a seat on the council.” Sayaka reminded patiently, “She wants to do well, so she cannot afford to, um, pardon me for saying so, laze about as you do.” She fidgeted.
Kirari chortled, not insulted by Sayaka’s words in the least.
“The way your mind works amuses me so.” Kirari sighed pleasantly. Truly, what would (Y/n) have to work so hard for? It was Kirari’s aquarium and by extension, hers as well. All they needed to do was give the fish a little something to nibble on and then sit back together and watch.
Even if (Y/n) cared to fulfill her new duties as treasurer, why would she go to Ririka when Kirari was her girlfriend? It simply wouldn’t do. Kirari gave (Y/n) the position to be closer to her, not Ririka. Usually Kirari was content to sit back and let things take whatever course the universe decided, but Momobami Kirari was not going to be stood up two days in a row.
When it was time to sit for the next meeting, one of the chairs inexplicably disappeared, leaving (Y/n) to stand as she scanned the room for the missing chair, but not for long.
“(Y/n),” Kirari called, patting her lap, “sit here.”
(Y/n) looked a bit reluctant to do so in the middle of a meeting with all of the council’s eyes on her, but the look in Kirari’s eye was one that shouldn’t be ignored, so she gave in. It wasn’t that unusual for them anyway.
A pleased hum sounded from Kirari’s throat and she linked her arms together over (Y/n)’s waist and her chin found home on her shoulder. Kirari shot her sister a satisfied smirk, but the older of the twin pair merely rolled her eyes beneath her mask.
Sayaka, not wanting to waste anymore time with Kirari’s nonsense at the moment, begin the proceedings. (Y/n) tried hard to listen along, but Kirari kept murmuring nonsense in her ear. Murmuring things that certainly had nothing to do with the meeting happening before them.
“Kirari, I’m trying to pay attention to the meeting.” (Y/n) whispered back, “You can tell me about the life cycle of an arowana another time.”
“No better time than the present. You don’t need to listen to this silly little meeting anyway, it’s below you.”
“It’s part of this job you gave me.” (Y/n) countered, “Council funds are all messed up after what happened to Manyuda-san. So I have to pay attention.” She sat up straighter and tried her best to ignore Kirari’s sighs and unusually restless legs.
“The Vice President has been generous enough to work with me on reorganizing and refinancing the student council’s treasury. The process is lengthy and intricate, but we are confident we will have things running smoothly again before the end of the next month.” (Y/n) spoke up, her voice pitching a bit awkwardly as Kirari’s unusual display of annoyance persisted.
Then Kirari suddenly stopped, her feet planted firmly against the ground once more.
The end of next month? She would have to share her girlfriend with her new council duties and her sister for that long? Kirari had briefly thought that she would take the leap and replace her sister to help (Y/n) with the meaningless project, but she would much rather do anything else than sit in the cluttered records room for five minutes, much less several weeks.
Kirari hadn’t expected it to come to this, but when it came to the few things in life she genuinely enjoyed, she did not like to share. Kirari would not allow (Y/n) to divert her attention from her any longer.
“I have something to say.” Kirari spoke up soon after, interrupting Yuriko who quickly clammed up.
“Yes, President?” Sayaka was surprised to say the least. Did Kirari really have something she wanted to add to the discussion?
“(Y/n), you’re fired.”
Midari and Runa burst out laughing while Yumemi put on a sympathetic act. Yuriko began to sweat, thinking she might be the next to go and Sayaka banged her head against the clipboard she was holding so hard, her forehead began to bleed. Ririka, who was only surprised Kirari even made it past the twenty-four hour mark before making her decree, sat completely unphased.
“What?!” (Y/n) gawked, twisting in Kirari’s arms in an attempt to decipher the placid smile on her girlfriend’s face.
“You no longer work for the council. You’re fired.” Kirari elaborated.
“But why? What did I do wrong?!”
Kirari pulled her bewildered, possibly even offended girlfriend, higher on her lap and booped her nose with a single finger, blue painted lips protruded slightly in a faux pout.
“You have been neglecting your most important commitment, me. You have been failing to meet your obligated quota of quality time with your girlfriend. Who need I remind you again, is me.”
(Y/n) swiftly opened her mouth to argue, but instead let the inhaled air become a heavy exhale. There was no point in trying to get Kirari to see reason. Poor Ririka, Sayaka would probably be able to help with the workload at least.
Kirari subtly tightened her hold on her girlfriend, bringing her attention back on to her instead of her thoughts.
“Pay attention to me.” Kirari said, the glint in her eye made it known that it was not a request.
“Yes, yes, okay, fine. Sorry everyone. Pretend I’m not here.” (Y/n) sunk into Kirari who happily pulled her closer with a look reminiscent of a satisfied cat.
Kirari waved her hand limply, “Continue on with business, Sayaka.”
“Thank you, President.” Sayaka bowed, ever the professional, “Our next order of business will now be to find a new treasurer… again.”
Kirari kissed the palm of (Y/n)’s hand, the gesture made (Y/n) crack a smile. Though she was still a bit annoyed with her sudden dismissal from the council, it was a sweet display. Ah, it was a stressful job anyway. (Y/n) was looking forward to whatever Kirari was planning with that calculating look in her eyes, ready to make up for the single day they lost.

hi !! i really love your writing you are FEEDING the shinobu stan community🙏 but i need some love for my girl ririka from kkg so could i request a oneshot for ririka and a very bold flirtatious she/her reader!! really want to read about flustered ririka hahaha thank you so much!!
Heyyy Veep
Ririka Momobami x (She/Her) Reader
A/N: I don’t know why, but I struggled on this one for a bit. Hope it’s alright and sorry it took so long! Word Count: 1,416
Ririka sat stiffly at her desk, mask still firmly in place as students gossiped and whispered around her. She knew she should have skipped today, or at least stayed in the student council room like Kirari always did without a care in the world. Even though it was now common knowledge that she and Kirari were twins, she still wore her mask often. It helped make the staring of her peers less penetrating. Before, she was simply the mysterious Vice President. Now, everyone knew who she was and she could feel the questions those stares asked.
Was she like her sister? Was she actually Kirari right now trying to catch another foolish student unawares? Just who was Momobami Ririka? Ririka wished she knew too.
“Heyyy Veep~!”
Ririka blinked slowly beneath her mask and a figure came into focus. A girl, who she soon recognized as one of her classmates that would come by every so often to chat her up, leaning over the front of Ririka’s desk, resting her cheek on her interlaced fingers. When the girl, (Y/n), noticed the slight lift of Ririka’s head, the smile on her lips grew and even her eyes seemed to sparkle.
“Oh good, you are awake! It’s a little hard to tell you know, with the mask.” She chuckled before making herself more comfortable by sitting sideways on Ririka’s desk.
Ririka swallowed inaudibly and blushed while trying to avert her eyes from where (Y/n)’s skirt rode up her thigh to the girl’s face high above her. Still, she kept talking to Ririka as if nothing had changed. Like Ririka’s identity wasn’t much of a surprise or concern to her at all.
“Why do you still wear it anyway? People know who you are now, why not embrace it? It gets uncomfortable in there, right? Why not let everyone see your beautiful face?” She asked in quick succession, tapping the plastic right between the mask’s eye holes.
Ririka stayed silent. Not to be rude, she just didn’t know what to say. Besides Kirari, Runa, on occasion Sayaka, and more notably Mary as of late, (Y/n) hardly ever got this close to her, much less tried to hold a serious conversation with her. It was a lot.
(Y/n)’s smile became more teasing as the silence between them filled the air. She bent in on herself a bit, to make it easier to be at eye-level and whispered in Ririka’s ear, making her shiver.
“Everyone saw you as some mysterious, maybe even scary, unapproachable anomaly, which is pretty attractive, not gonna lie, but…” a pause for dramatic effect, “I think you’re really just a little reserved, shy girl who obediently waits for her sister’s command, but is ever so surely learning to be her own person… and you are super cute!”
Ririka pulled her head away, ears bright red, and (Y/n) laughed, sitting straight once more to give Ririka a little breathing room.
“Don’t be afraid to let loose a little. You don’t have to be your sister’s shadow all the time,” (Y/n) looked over to the door and slid off of Ririka’s desk when she saw the teacher open the door to the classroom, “talk to you later, Ririka-san.”
The other students loitering around took their seats as well and the teacher began their lesson while trying to ignore the group of kids still gambling in the back corner of the room. Meanwhile, Ririka was in her own little world of brain static. Her mask was feeling much too hot and stuffy with the increased flow of blood to her face.
***
The next day, Ririka went to school without her mask on her face. She still kept it in her school bag of course, just in case. The stares felt more intense without the mask. She could practically hear the cogs grinding in the other student’s heads as she walked past. They were trying to decide if she was Ririka or Kirari. Only Sayaka has ever succeeded in seeing through their deception in all these years. Even if she was Kirari, they wouldn’t know. Sometimes the line was even too blurred for Ririka to differentiate. Mary was certainly helping her through that though.
“You really did it!”
Ririka looked up from the walkway to find (Y/n) jogging over to her. She should have seen this coming after yesterday, but somehow she had convinced herself it was a fluke. What made her decide that, who’s to say.
(Y/n) skidded to a halt right before charging Ririka head on and grasped one of Ririka’s hands in her own before she could recover from the near collision.
“You are so pretty, I hope this means I get to see your face more often.” She said with a wink, raising Ririka’s petrified hand to her lips to place a quick kiss against her knuckles.
Ririka lit up like a Christmas tree at the display and when (Y/n) let go off her hand it flopped limply back to her side. Before she could attempt to begin collecting herself, a buzzing sound came from (Y/n)’s pocket. (Y/n) stuck her hand in and pulled out her phone, reading the message, she cursed and hastily shoved her phone back into her pocket.
“Hey, I forgot I had a gamble planned this morning. It’s too bad, I was hoping to talk to you more. I’ll see you later, Veep!”
Before (Y/n) could get very far, the back of her uniform jacket was tugged back. She turned her head, one eyebrow raised though she still smiled radiantly at Ririka, even as the other girl’s skin became pinker the longer her tongue remained tied. After a couple failed attempts at speech, (Y/n) threw Ririka a bone, her flirty expression softened as she coaxed Ririka’s grip on her jacket to loosen.
“You can come with if you’d like. It won’t be anything crazy like your sister gets up to, but maybe you would find it nice to relax with some low stakes every now and then.”
Ririka drew out a loud exhale and nodded emphatically. Kirari lived and breathed for the next challenge, always chasing after something to distract from boredom or destroy herself like a supernova. Ririka was still trying to understand herself as someone more than an extension of Kirari as Mary had pushed her to do… and gambling, she realized, had decided her course of life since birth. Low stakes, something inconsequential, sounded good, great even.
The bright gleam in (Y/n)’s eyes intensified and she took Ririka’s hand, tugging her towards the school.
“Then let’s go! My friends might act a little antsy with you watching, but they’ll get over it before long, I promise.”
Ririka found herself not minding at all. As long as (Y/n) didn’t leave her alone, she could handle it. There was still a part of her that couldn’t believe she was doing this, however. She couldn’t wait to tell Mary.
***
Two Months Later
“Heyyy Veep!” (Y/n), in an incredible act of bravery, or foolishness depending on who you asked, had been waiting with a small bouquet of flowers beside a disgruntled looking Sayaka for the twins’ arrival. “Are we still on for lunch today?”
Ririka could feel Kirari staring into the back of her head. She could imagine the sly smile and sharp glint in her eyes and refused to give her the satisfaction of looking back at her and instead nodded wordlessly and ushered (Y/n), almost hurriedly into the school, away from her sister who, thankfully, was taking her sweet time with Sayaka walking beside her.
“Where’s the fire?” (Y/n) laughed, pushing the flowers into Ririka’s hand, “These are for you by the way.”
“Thank you.” Ririka spoke sincerely. Her heart still thudded rapidly at (Y/n)’s gestures, but she was getting used to them over time. “I’m sorry for pulling you away so fast, it’s just that Kirari…”
“Oh, I’m not worried about her. What’s she gonna do? Write me a life plan? I know better than to gamble with her should she choose to offer it. Besides,” she knocked her shoulder against Ririka’s, “she may very well be my sister-in-law one day. We’ll have to play nice.”
Ririka, predictably, blushed and became so light headed, she nearly fell backwards down the stairs they were currently scaling, but (Y/n) caught her by the arm of course, and blew Ririka a kiss with her free hand. Ririka knew they hadn’t been dating long, but she couldn’t see herself ever getting used to the way (Y/n) made her feel.

Hey , love your work. Could I request a oneshot of mary and a very dense she/her reader, so mary has to go above and beyond and break past her tsundere wall to confess to the reader. Mary would probably be like "This god damn idiot."
Do I Have to Spell it Out for You?
Mary Saotome x She/Her Reader
A/N: Hey, Reader may be dense but Mary doesn’t exactly make it easy with that tsundere attitude. Hope you enjoy! Word Count: 1,593
“Hey.” Mary greeted (Y/n) curtly, slapping a fat stack of yen on the girl’s desk. “Here’s your cut from the gamble yesterday.”
“Thanks Mary! …Hm?” (Y/n) tilted her head to the side. Surely she hadn’t earned that much money on the gamble. “Isn’t this too much?”
“What? You think I can count cards but I can’t count yen?” Mary groused. “I gave you what you deserved. You figured out the cheat, you get a bit more of the cut. Don’t overthink it.”
“Sure. If it’s really alright with you, thanks Mary!”
“Yeah, whatever, you already said that, idiot.” Mary walked stiffly over to her desk and made a show of opening her textbook and looking busy. Meanwhile her heart was pounding. If (Y/n) gave her that stupid smile one my time, she would perish on the spot.
She had been dealing with (suffering with) her feelings for (Y/n) for months. She kept dropping hints that she was interested in her, but the idiot didn’t suspect a thing. How much more obvious could she be! Extra yen, picking her over Yumeko and Ririka for gambles, treating her to lunches off campus to be among normal people for a change. What wasn’t clicking?
She shot (Y/n) a side-eye glance as the teacher came into the room. To anyone else she would have appeared to have been staring daggers at the girl when really she was appreciating how the sun streaming through the windows backlit her, giving her an outline like gold.
(Y/n) felt eyes on her and looked up from her note taking and met Mary’s eye, making the blonde flinch in her seat and blush at being caught. (Y/n) simply smiled at her and gave her a little wave before facing front again.
Mary bore down on her pencil so hard, the tip snapped. How dare this girl have so much power of her and not even notice! She tossed her pencil into her desk and pulled out a pen instead and began writing notes furiously, earning a couple sideways glances from the classmates around her with her loud scrapes.
Yumeko giggled into her hand, having watched the whole interaction and Ryota sat in his seat looking as lost as always. He met Mary’s eye for only a millisecond before turning away, but he still felt like he had been electrocuted.
***
After classes were over, Mary walked over to (Y/n)’s desk before the girl even finished packing up her belongings.
“Hey. I’m leaving this fucked up school to go to see a movie and eat dinner. If you want to come with I won’t stop you. I don’t care.”
“That does sound fun… you really won’t mind if I tag along?” (Y/n) asked.
“That’s what I said, wasn’t it? Hurry up before I leave you behind.” Mary grit her teeth as familiar arms wrapped around her shoulders. She elbowed the person behind her, unsatisfied by the obviously fake yelp of pain.
“Ow, Mary-chan, so mean!” Yumeko pouted, rubbing her ribs. She quickly returned to her usual chipper self, however. “What are you two up to, hm?”
“None of your—!”
“Mary said she’s going to a movie and then dinner. She said I could come, maybe you guys could come too?”
“That does sound fun!” Yumeko grinned, looping arms with (Y/n). “Don’t you think Ryota?”
“Uh, yeah, I think—“
“You two aren’t coming! God, can’t you guys do anything without me?” Mary griped. She snatched (Y/n) out of Yumeko’s grasp, snapped up her school bag and dragged her out of the door.
“We will meet you there then!” Yumeko waved.
“You better not!” Mary shouted over her shoulder.
“I don’t know Mary. Wouldn’t it be fun if more of our friends tagged along?”
“No!”
“Why not?”
Mary was about to have an aneurysm.
“I was doing you a favor just extending the invitation to you. Don’t test my patience with those other degenerates.”
“Okay.” (Y/n) shrugged and let Mary pull her whatever way she wanted. Mary only slowed when they were well off of the school grounds.
***
Mary thought she was doing everything right. She let (Y/n) pick the movie, paid for both their tickets and snacks… she tried to hold her hand but (Y/n) just thought she wanted popcorn. Then they went to dinner and (Y/n) insisted to pay for that, to pay back for the movie she said. Mary accepted begrudgingly. She tried to offer (Y/n) a bite of her food, her chopsticks hanging in the air, but (Y/n) took some directly from her plate before pushing her own towards Mary and offering her some of her food.
Did she really not know how hard this was for Mary, to be vulnerable like this? She was thwarting her at every turn. Couldn’t she tell what all of this was about?
“Thanks for letting me come with you tonight.” (Y/n) said as they rode the transit back to the school grounds.
“Yeah, sure.” Mary grumbled, she bit the inside of her lip out of aggravation. “We… we should do it again sometime.” She gritted out.
“Sure! I enjoy spending time with you.”
Yes!
“You’re one of my best friends, Mary.”
No! Yes, but no!
Mary couldn’t take it anymore. She really didn’t want to have to resort to this but she left her with no choice.
“(Y/n)!” She yelled, startling some of the other people on the bus.
“Yeah?” (Y/n) perked up.
She was staring at Mary so intently that it almost made her want to leap out of the moving bus.
“(Y/n), you— I, damn it!” She pulled at her hair then dug in pocket of her shirt and pulled out a pen. “Do I really have to spell it out for you?!” She tore a notebook from her bag and flipped it to a random blank page and scribbled, loudly cursing when the movement of the bus jostled her arm.
When she was finished, she ripped out the page and pushed it into (Y/n)’s chest. (Y/n) took the note in one hand and rubbed at collarbone with the other as she read, her face grew shocked as she read the note twice, thrice…
“Mary, you wanted this to be a date? You really mean it? You like me?”
Mary was blushing so hard she could hear the blood rushing through her ears. Her throat strained to answer, test out a few nonsense noises. Damn it, Mary, it was one word! Finally, she snatched the paper back to scratch it down. (Y/n) barely managed to catch the paper before she could be smacked in the chest again.
“Yes? Yes!” (Y/n) hugged Mary hard and though she struggled against the hug, (Y/n) did not ease up. “I’m sorry Mary, I didn’t know.”
“I think I made it perfectly clear!” Mary fumed, “You are just dense! Incredibly dense! I don’t know how this school hasn’t eaten you alive already!”
“Mary, you have to admit you didn’t make it easy for me. You are very flippant in the way you speak.”
“No way! I was clear! You are dense!” Mary refused to backdown, but (Y/n) still smiled as she rolled her eyes. She leaned her weight against Mary, making her blush even more prominent.
“Alright, I’m dense and you very clear with your intentions when they are matters of the heart.”
Mary’s eyes narrowed in an accusatory manner. Yet she couldn’t help but to lean back into (Y/n) as well. “Why did that sound sarcastic?”
“I don’t know what you mean…”
“Quit it.”
“Hey, what do you want to do for the rest of the weekend?”
“Why are you asking me all of the sudden?!” Mary asked defensively, immediately noticing her error.”
“Because you’re my girlfriend now… or did I read that wrong? It’s so hard to know for sure when you talk to me like that.”
“…I picked today. You pick tomorrow?” She asked, watching her feet tap against the floor with a face that reminded (Y/n) of a grumpy puppy.
“Okay, sounds good.” (Y/n) kissed Mary on the cheek and then directed her attention to the front of the bus. “Our stop is here.”
Mary missed (Y/n)’s contact immediately and almost had to jog after her when she left the bus.
“H-hey! Why are you walking so fast?”
“It’s chilly out, isn’t it?” (Y/n) smiled.
“Sure, but you just… and I want to…” Mary stuttered.
“What do you want Mary?” (Y/n) teased.
“You know what I want!”
“Maybe, but I think it would be a good idea if you practiced saying what you mean and what you want rather than thinking I can read your mind. In other words, speak your heart, and you will be rewarded.”
Mary pursed her lips. (Y/n) made a good point. Maybe she was dense, but she wasn’t a fool. She was a decent gambler, a very smart girl. It wouldn’t kill Mary to actually try to meet her half way.
“I want… I want to kiss you too. On the cheek.”
“On the cheek. Alright.” (Y/n) smiled, presenting her cheek to Mary. She was there and gone so fast (Y/n) didn’t know for sure if she had done it. But it was a big step for Mary so she wouldn’t tease her about it. “Would you like to hold my hand while we walk to the dorms?”
“Why would…! Mhm.. I’d.. like.. that.”
(Y/n) took Mary’s hand and silently marveled at its warmth. As they walked back, she wondered if Mary was always that warm, or if it because of how much she was blushing.

oh my god and i'm so sorry for requesting twice in a row but also a mary one shot where mary goes too far with her tsundere ways to she/her reader gf and reader gets cranky and mary has to make up to her THANK YOU YOU CAN IGNORE THIS IF U WANT
Do I Have to Spell it Out for You Prt. II
Mary Saotome x She/Her Reader
A/N: I thought this request paired up quite nicely with the last Mary request I did so I wrote it in the same universe as that one! Part One is here! Word Count: 1,117
“What are you doing?” Mary hissed, an embarrassed blush crawling up her neck before making home in her cheeks. She pulled her hand away from (Y/n) as if she had been burned and her eyes darted between the other gamblers at the table who eyed her curiously.
“Holding your hand? Like we do all the time?” (Y/n) informed. The look on her face and the tone of her voice spoke volumes for how confused she was over Mary’s sudden bite.
“We do not!” Mary yelled, indignant. “Could you just keep your hands to yourself for once? You’re like Yumeko!”
“Fine!” (Y/n) yelled in return, surprising Mary by not simply matching her volume, but going above it.
What Mary didn’t realize was that she had thrown down the last straw that broke the camel’s back. Her tsundere mood swings had been getting a little out of hand as of late and (Y/n) was over it. If Mary was going to act so volatile over a simple affectionate touch, then she wasn’t going to get a damn thing.
They managed to win the gamble by the skin of their teeth. Mostly because (Y/n) refused to look at Mary for any of her signals. When Mary asked her what the hell was going on, (Y/n) fixed her with a glare that made Mary feel like whatever she had done, she was stupid for not realizing it.
“I’m upset with you, if it really wasn’t abundantly clear to you.” She turned away, dodging Mary’s hand, “I’m done for the day. I’m going back to my room. Alone.” She emphasized.
“Damn it, what did I do?” Mary kicked the nearby wall. She wanted to follow (Y/n), but she was being so prickly all of the sudden. What was that all about?
“Oh? Trouble in paradise, Saotome?”
Mary turned her head so fast her neck cracked. Momobami Kirari was definitely the last person she wanted to see right now. Even if Ririka was walking beside her.
“Go drown yourself in your fish tank.” Mary spat, before walking past the twins in the direction they had come from.
“Wouldn’t that be a fun gamble… who could hold their breath the longest.” Kirari chuckled.
“Mary, wait.” Ririka’s voice crackled beneath her mask. She left her sister’s side and caught up to Mary.
“What is it Ririka, I’m not exactly in the mood to talk.” Mary tried to keep the President out of her field of vision as she spoke. She just knew she had some kind of stupid smirk on her face.
“I think I know why (L/n)-san is upset with you.”
“You do? Well, spit it out already?”
“It’s your attitude.” Kirari called, amusement evident.
“You seem to have been pushing away her affections a lot recently.” Ririka spoke quickly, stepping between Mary and Kirari before Mary could decide on running over and wringing her sister’s neck. “It is probably disheartening to have the one you love continuously pulling away from your touch.”
“I haven’t…” Mary crossed her arms and bit into her thumb. Giving it a little thought, she had been kind of a bitch lately. She was supposed to be more honest with her feelings and pushing (Y/n) away was definitely not honest. “Damn it. I really messed up.”
“I’m sure if you apologized, things would get better.” Ririka suggested.
“I would love to see that.” Kirari mused.
“Good luck, Mary.” Ririka dismissed quickly while tugging her sister away.
Mary was angry, but Ririka was right. She would have to apologize and do better.
***
Mary knocked on (Y/n)’s door and waited anxiously for any indication that she had been heard. She had tried texting before this point, but (Y/n) didn’t so much as open them, much less read or answer them. So here she was, uninvited.
Her ears perked up at the sound of shuffling within the room and stood ramrod straight when (Y/n) unlocked the door and opened it half way.
“What?” She asked shortly, prompting Mary to clear her throat and finally speak.
“Hey, um, I get why you’re mad now. If you still want some space that’s more than okay, but I just wanted to say.. that.. I’m..”
Oh come on, Mary. It was just one sincere apology to a person she loved. It really shouldn’t be like pulling teeth.
“I’msorryforbeingsuchajerkI’mgonnaworkharder.”
“I have no idea what you just said.” (Y/n) moved to close the door but Mary wedged her foot in at the last second.
“I’m sorry I hurt your feelings!” Mary shouted. “You shouldn’t have to feel bad for tying to hold your girlfriend’s hand. It’s really shitty that I keep reacting that way when I promised you before that I would be honest with my feelings. I’m doing a real bad job at it, but I promise I’m gonna change. Whenever I act out, punch me in the stomach if you have to, remind me to stop being such a beast.”
(Y/n) laughed a little bit and Mary looked at her with a hopeful expression.
“I’m not going to punch you… maybe a hard pinch if you really deserve it.” She smiled shyly.
Mary presented her arm to (Y/n) and when her girlfriend looked up at her confused, she explained.
“I think I deserve a retroactive one. Maybe two.”
(Y/n) wasted no time and showed no mercy. Mary sucked in a breath through her teeth and pressed down on the tender skin with her opposite hand.
“That stings! Should be the motivation I need to stop being a jerk to you.” Mary gently rubbed the sore spot.
“May I see it?” (Y/n) asked worriedly. She hadn’t meant to go so hard, but the frustration she felt made her increase the pressure.
Mary rolled up her sleeve and (Y/n) winced at the pink mark already forming on her forearm. Gently, she ran her fingers over the mark.
“I could kiss it better if you’d like…” (Y/n) expected Mary to blush and tear her hand away, and she was fine with that in this instance, she just wanted to tease. She was surprised however when Mary did in fact blush, but gave a jerky nod of her head before looking at the ground between them.
(Y/n) recovered from her surprise quickly and kissed the smarting skin softly, then she grazed her thumb over it as she smiled at Mary.
“Any better?”
“Another? …Please?”
(Y/n) rolled her eyes and shook her head, moving further into her room to give Mary enough room to enter. “Come inside ya goof.”
Mary’s lips turned up in a shy smile as she followed (Y/n) inside, closing the door behind her. She was fully intent on showing (Y/n) just how much she appreciated her.

hello!! May I request a Rei Batsubami one-shot where reader (she/her) gets insecure and jealous because Rei is so popular with girls? Thank you!
Nothing to Worry About
Rei Batsubami x She/ Her Reader
A/N: I wasn’t sure what pronouns Rei prefers. The wikis I looked at use some variation of he/they/she depending on what phase of the season they were in. Since this is taking place before Rei gets to write themself back into the family I decided on using they/them. Now that I think about it, they/she or she/they probably would be more accurate idk. Hope this is alright! Word Count: 964
“Rei-san, I’ve been looking for you!”
“Me too!”
“Same!”
(Y/n) watched from the sidelines, a displeased frown easily readable upon her lips. She knew that Rei was gathering votes for something big, but she didn’t like how easily all these other girls flocked to them looking for their attention. Neither did she like how soft and kind Rei was when dealing with them nor the gentle, consoling way Rei would smile and touch their shoulders and hands.
(Y/n)’s dagger like glare went unnoticed and the girls took their sweet time putting their votes into Rei’s box before finally parting ways. (Y/n) was so busy glaring at their backs that she failed to notice Rei come up to her until they were leaning against her.
“What’s wrong?” Rei asked, rubbing (Y/n)’s shoulders.
“Nothing.” (Y/n) grumbled unconvincingly.
“I find that hard to believe. You’re really tense. Talk to me.”
(Y/n) exhaled harshly through her nose, mulling over how to voice what they were feeling. Just as she found the courage to speak what had been on her mind and parted her lips, another group of giggling girls came up to surround Rei with votes and other little homemade gifts.
Rei treated the girls cordially, yet swiftly. When the last of the girls finally departed, Rei turned around to address (Y/n) again, only to find her gone. Worried, they immediately began their search for her. They knew something was wrong and they wouldn’t be a very good partner if they didn’t give her the support she needed. They walked through the halls giving the girls who wished for them to stop for a chat quick apologies and kind smiles as they kept up their search.
“Looking for someone?”
“Totobami-sama, Yumi-san, good afternoon,” Rei bowed, “Yes, I am looking for someone. Have you seen my girlfriend come through here by chance?”
“Oh! Yeah, I think I saw her!” Yumi nodded excitedly. “I think we passed her on our way inside.”
“Thank you. I’ll be going then.”
“Just a moment, Rei.” Terano said, causing Rei to pause.
“I’ve heard whispers that you are collecting votes. Have you decided to join in on Kirari’s little game after all?”
“I may or may not have something in mind. Nothing worthy of your attention I assure you.” Rei bowed again. “Good day to you.”
Terano lingered on Rei’s expression for a few more seconds before closing her eyes with indifference.
“Good day.” She said in return, dropping the subject. She motioned for Yumi to continue and they went about their day while Rei went outside to search the grounds.
Rei was worried that Terano was onto them, but they didn’t have time to dwell on that now. This whole stupid election could wait until after they found out what was going on with (Y/n).
“There you are,” Rei sighed audibly with relief when they found (Y/n) laying under a tree not far from the main walkway, “why did you disappear on me? Are you sick?”
“I’m fine,” (Y/n) huffed, “go back to whatever harem you’ve got going on in there. I don’t care.”
“Harem?” Rei chuckled, taking a seat beside (Y/n). “You mean the girls giving me their votes?”
“What else would I be referring to?” (Y/n) frowned, crossing her arms tightly. “And they give you way more than votes. Don’t pretend to be so surprised.”
“You don’t need to be jealous of them. You know you’re the only girl for me, right?” Rei snuck their hand underneath (Y/n)’s bicep and tugged her arm free. Then they caught (Y/n)’s hand and held it between both of theirs.
“Sometimes I just don’t know.” (Y/n) sniffled. “Part of me is glad all of these girls are as enraptured with you as I am. That they see you as I do, how you deserved to be seen, but then… there are so many of them and surely some of them would be better for you than me. I don’t know.” She said, her hand shaking in Rei’s hold.
“You’ve known me forever and no one knows the struggles the Bami Families have put me through like you do. You even transferred schools to support me here. None of them can hold a candle to you.” Rei pulled (Y/n) into their chest and kissed the top on her head. “I’ll be more firm against their advances from now on. Votes be damned. If you’re ever feeling insecure about my feelings for you, please tell me and I will tell you how much you mean to me every time.”
“You don’t have to do that, I’m being silly.”
“Your feelings aren’t silly—”
“Oh! There they are!”
“Rei-san, good afternoon!”
“Please accept our votes!”
“We made you a treat!”
The group of girls circled around and (Y/n) tried to sit up, only for Rei to hold firm.
“Thank you. This is all very nice. Especially these treats you all worked so hard on, my girlfriend loves these.”
“Oh… is that right?” Some the the girls looked downtrodden while others pouted and a couple even glared at (Y/n).
“Yes, we really appreciate your kindness, but I must ask you all to give us some space. We’re having an important discussion right now.”
A bunch of muddled affirmatives left the group and they all walked away, some nosy girls glancing behind their shoulders to try to catch a hint of what they could be talking about before continuing on.
“Now they’re mad at us.” (Y/n) sighed, idly munching on one of the treats that the mob left.
“They’ll get over it. It’s not as if they didn’t know you existed before.”
“I’m not so sure they did. It’s like I don’t exist when you’re around.”
“I’ll be sure to remind them from now on then.”
And remind them they did.

May I request shy Ririka with an even shyer fem reader going on their first date? I love your writing <3
Escape Room
Ririka Momobami x She/ Her Reader
A/N: Thanks! How do two very shy people work up the nerve to go out on a date together? With the “help” of one party’s eccentric twin sister. Hope you enjoy! Word Count: 1,286
Ririka and (Y/n) kept glancing shyly at each other, timer slowly ticking away on a tv screen in the corner of the room decorated to look like an old timey, english train car.
How did they even make it to this point?
Well, like with most things, Ririka could trace it back to her meddling twin sister. She had foolishly left her journal unattended so naturally, Kirari picked it up for a bit of light reading and found out about Ririka’s crush on (Y/n).
And Ririka could have lived with that. Except for the fact that her sister was insane and saw the world as her own personal game of Sims. So that was how Ririka and (Y/n) found themselves in a custom made escape room not even three days later. What? You want to know what made them go into there in the first place? Listen, what Kirari wants, Kirari gets.
Ririka pursed her lips, though she was actually trying to smile. It was the nerves of being so close to her classmate that she had never spoken to directly. That, and it was also the first time they were meeting face to face since her mask had inexplicably gone missing before she found herself in this room. God, she never wanted to hide behind it more badly in her life.
(Y/n) gave her a equally awkward smile before looking down at the ground and messing with the hem of her skirt. Then, the ticking of the timer ceased and Kirari’s face took up the screen, a bored look upon her face.
“Since you two aren’t even going to speak to each other, I’m going to stop the timer. Now, you are at my mercy. Once you win, you will be allowed to leave.”
“Kirari.” Ririka warned, but before she could go further, her sister was already wiggling her fingers at them through the screen.
“Bye-bye, have a nice date.” She disappeared and the screen instead began steadily flashing the time, no countdown.
“D-date?” (Y/n) squeaked.
Ririka blushed. This wasn’t how she had wanted to go about this. She just wanted to yearn for (Y/n) from afar and do nothing about it. That was the safe option. Yet… it was exciting to be so close, barely interacting.
“My sister won’t let us out until we play her game. I’m sorry.”
“Oh, it’s not your fault. You don’t need to apologize, Vice President.” (Y/n) spoke softly while still looking elsewhere, in a timid whisper she added, “I’m happy to be spending time with you.”
“I-is that so?”
“Mhm.”
“I’m glad too…”
Silence fell over the room once more as the girls smiled bashfully to themselves. Then the speaker crackled to life again with a bored sigh.
“It would be nice if you started sometime today. I worked really hard designing the room and Sayaka made the puzzles for me. Lots of hard work going to waste right now.” Ririka could practically hear the pout her sister was sporting and subtly rolled her eyes. She then turned to (Y/n) with a small smile.
“Help me look around?” She asked (Y/n), ignoring Kirari’s disembodied voice.
“Okay.” (Y/n) replied, moving to investigate a corner of the room with Ririka.
Together, they made a loop around the room, taking note of all the locks and points of interest, gathering clues and potentially helpful objects along the way. They still didn’t communicate much, but they were basking in every little accidental touch as items changed hands and every short, shy glance met caused their hearts to flutter.
They sat almost shoulder to shoulder in the booth style seating and spread their findings out across the table. Silently, they took turns reading papers, solving puzzles and placing them with possible corresponding items.
They looked up from their work once they had finished, blushing and shying away when they found their faces so close together. Ririka took the solved number codes, giving (Y/n) a tentative glance.
“Do you want me to undo the corresponding locks?” She asked.
“Sure, if that’s alright. Maybe there will be something in there that can help with this.” (Y/n) said, pointing to the locked box in front of her.
Ririka nodded and got to work. Soon, they had a whole other pile of puzzles and clues to work through which made Ririka a tad nervous. Just how many puzzles had Sayaka made? Knowing her, she had probably gone above and beyond to impress her President, and Kirari being Kirari, she probably found a use for every single thing she came up with. Just how much longer would they be stuck in there?
“Um, Vice President?” (Y/n) ventured after the fourth iterations of puzzles was revealed in a second, larger train car that was opened to them after solving a cypher in a wall.
“Just Ririka is fine.” Ririka’s voice was muffled by her arms and the table she was currently resting her head against the table in their new booth.
“…Ririka, how much more do you think the President has planned?”
Ririka blew out a heavy breath of air. That was the question, wasn’t it? Bigger than any they had come across so far. Ririka wouldn’t put it past her sister to keep adding, and adding, and adding until it was some kind of sick… infinity train! She was hungry and tired, (Y/n) probably felt the same if not worse.
“I’m sorry you got dragged into this.” She said, still resting face down. She did jump slightly however, when a light touch rested against her shoulder blade. Slowly, she turned her head and peaked up at (Y/n) between strands of her hair.
“Don’t worry, Ririka,” (Y/n) dared to rub her back in small movements, “we’ll get out. And it’s not too bad because… I- I’m happy that, that I’m here with you, over, over an- anyone else.”
Her words became a bit numbly and rushed as she spoke, but Ririka heard her loud and clear. Smiling, she straightened her back and grasped (Y/n)’s hand in her own shaky hand and gave a tentative squeeze.
“I’m happy too. I like you a lot…” Ririka admitted bashfully. “If we ever get out of this alive… would you like to do other activities with me? Preferably ones that aren’t decided by my sister?”
“I would. I’d like that very much.”
“Wonderful.”
“Why wait?”
(Y/n) and Ririka’s heads whipped over to the new tv screen on the opposite wall the the room to find Kirari smirking at them.
“Have a good time together. The first of many I hope.” Kirari snapped her fingers and the wall opposite the tv popped open and fell outward with a heavy thump, blinding the girls with the sudden stream of natural light being let in. “Don’t stay out too late, Ririka.” With that, the screen went black once more.
“We’re free?” (Y/n) carefully poked at the air as if there was some invisible barrier still in their way.
“We’re free.” Ririka stood and stepped out of the train car to the ground down below. She then turned and offered (Y/n) her hand, which was taken with almost zero hesitation. She helped (Y/n) down to the ground and offered her a shy smile that was mirrored back at her.
“Want to go eat something together?” She asked.
“Yes, please!” It was the most enthusiastic (Y/n) sounded all day and it made Ririka smile brighter.
They left the train still being constructed behind them, still hand in hand, while they discussed softly where they would like to go.
Kirari sat back in her chair with a pleased hum as Sayaka poured her tea. This was a success story for the books and it was all thanks to her.

hii, I just wanted to tell that I've been reading Of Thorns and Petals since you published the first chapters and I loved every single one of them. Despite the fact that I stan kirari x sayaka, I'm well aware that they together are not good for each other so reading about how ririka could be instead be the right momobami was very interesting, and your writing is just so beautiful done, so smooth.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know how amazing your fanfiction is and I can't wait to read more as you'll be able to publishing again
Hello there, and thank you for reaching out!
Although my interest for KKG has certainly been fading, it’s always nice to receive messages like this. I need to finish this fic for all the people like you who’ve been supporting me from the very beginning. In fact, I’ve been trying to be less selfish and to think more about what the readers would like to see.
It hasn’t been easy! But I do want to make sure you guys enjoy this story until the very end, notwithstanding its flaws.
I promise I’m doing my best to edit the remaining 12(?) chapters before the end of my hiatus. Here’s a random (spoilery) doodle as proof:
