L’isolement de la vallée du Lötschental a donné naissance à un grand nombre de contes, de légendes et de mythes. L’histoire de la vallée du Lötschental fourmille de personnages sauvages qui ont laissé leurs empreintes. Ils sont à l’origine de la coutume du Tschäggättä qui se célèbre encore aujourd’hui avec un amour tout particulier pour les détails. Ces personnages carnavalesques masqués qui sont caractéristiques du Lötschental, les Tschäggättä font leur apparition entre la fête catholique de la Chandeleur et le Gigiszischtag c.-à-d. le mardi qui précède le Mercredi des Cendres. Tous les soirs sauf le dimanche, quand la journée de travail est terminée, ces individus sauvages déferlent dans la vallée, effrayant tous ceux qui ont encore l’audace de se trouver dans la rue à cette heure-là. 📍 Lauchernalp Wallis 🇨🇭. The isolation of the Lötschental valley has given rise to a large number of tales, legends and myths. The history of the Lötschental Valley is teeming with wild characters who have left their mark. They are at the origin of the Tschäggättä custom which is still celebrated today with a special love for details. These masked carnival characters which are characteristic of the Lötschental, the Tschäggättä appear between the Catholic festival of Candlemas and the Gigiszischtag i.e. the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday. Every evening except Sunday, when the work day is over, these wild individuals surge into the valley, frightening all those who still have the audacity to be on the street at that hour. Die Isolation des Lötschentals hat zu einer Vielzahl von Sagen, Legenden und Mythen geführt. Die Geschichte des Lötschentals ist voller wilder Charaktere, die ihre Spuren hinterlassen haben. Sie sind der Ursprung des Tschäggättä-Brauchs, der bis heute mit besonderer Liebe zum Detail gefeiert wird. Diese maskierten Karnevalsfiguren, die für das Lötschental und den Tschäggättä charakteristisch sind, treten zwischen dem katholischen Fest von Candlemas und dem Gigiszischtag auf, d.h. der Dienstag vor Aschermittwoch. Außer sonntags, wenn der Arbeitstag vorüber ist, stürmen diese wilden Menschen jeden Abend ins Tal und machen all jenen Angst, die zu dieser Stunde noch die Kühnheit haben, auf der Straße zu sein.
