Summary: A canon AU drarry fic based on the relationship between Mickey and Ian from Shameless. A story about the aftereffects of the Second Wizarding War and how Draco and Harry come together and break apart over and over. How maybe, somewhere along the way, they find a way to live with themselves.

Some people might argue that Draco didn’t have very good ideas. That was a lie. Draco had fantastic ideas, however, due to mankind having free will, the planning and execution of those ideas didn’t always pan out in his favor.

Fic Reveal: SUPER RICH KIDS by trishjames

It’s finally time for the big reveal! So happy to have participated in this year’s @lcdrarry fest!

I had so much fun writing this crazy, wild ride of a story! I want to give a huge heartwarming thank you to @static-abyss for their amazing help in whipping this story into shape!!! Thank you for being so amazing <3.

Prompt: Bling Ring. “The Slytherins are rich, bored socialites and Draco has especially sticky fingers. Then he makes the mistake of stealing from a wizarding celebrity, Harry Potter.”

Summary: Draco Malfoy has become disillusioned by the glitz and glamour of the scandalous lives of the Post-Second Wizarding War Pureblood Elite. Enter: one existential crisis, one group of thieving cynical friends, and several terrible, terrible decisions.

Draco feels smothered.

To top off the horrific decor, there are at least two or three child-aged orphans being paraded around, enticing those who were on the wrong side of the war to dig deep into their coin purses, and not for the good of their heart but for a mention in next week’s issue of Wizard Society Now. The various acts of posturing from this community disgusts him just as much as the younger Purebloods crowing over their parents having wings of hospitals and orphanages named after them, or their legacies at the Ministry or St Mungo’s. Nepotism is alive and well postwar.

He’s sick of being around these insipid Purebloods, finding that nothing shocks him anymore, and more importantly, nothing he intentionally does truly shocks this warped little community anymore. He’s been branded by them in more than one way now, and still he needs to participate in such frivolities as his mother is forever unamendable to his desire for a quiet afternoon at home. Alone.

LCDrarry starts posting today, 1 May 2020! We’ll post from Monday to Saturday, and we’ll probably take a week off from posting in the middle of May to give our participants a chance to finish their submissions in these trying times. Sunday is our posting-free day. You’ll get a round-up post for the week and have time to catch up with your reading and commenting.

LCDrarry 2020 - Intermission Part 1

“Well, what do you think, Potter?" Draco asked as he skated effortlessly on the magic’d floor where the snack kiosks were being set up. He skated forward and back, his eyes never leaving Harry’s.

Harry tried not to stare as he took in Draco’s long legs and lean frame in tight denim shorts and a soft pink short-sleeved shirt.

“Ice cream?” Draco asked, offering Harry a small cup of chocolate.

“Thanks,” he managed to say without too much embarrassment as he took the cup. "You’re skating? I didn't know you could roller skate," Harry said, still watching Draco’s feet move effortlessly on the floor.

Draco shrugged. "I discovered servers on roller skates when I researched drive-in cinemas for the muggle studies project I did. It's rather like ice skating, which I’ve done since I was 5. Want to give it a go?” Draco gave Harry a wink and a slow grin.

We live in weird times, and we’d like to let you know that feeling down or unmotivated or just numb and unable to get things done or even to read fic and comment is totally alright and understandable.

The submission deadline for LCDrarry 2020 was yesterday. And we’ve received so many beautiful works already! Many others have asked for extensions and we are looking forward to seeing their creations.

Whether you are still working on your fest submission or you are thinking about dropping out, please know that either is completely fine. We won’t be angry with you, we won’t exclude you from future fests or anything. Just drop us a message at [email protected] and let us know how you’re doing. We’re happy to give you an extension if you want one 💚❤

Notes: If you're unfamiliar with Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries - first off, go fix that - I kid, I kid, but please do consider watching it at some point. You can thank me later. As for the setting of this particular story - please forget everything you know of JKR's world cause I'm re-writing a lot of things. Structural systems, beliefs, characters and their backstories and motives and blood status. We're also hand waving how Draco would be treated in the 1920s for being bisexual, wearing high heels, and women's blouses because you gotta fight crime in style, amirite?? To my Betas! E and R you have been so amazingly fabulous this whole time. I sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your hand holding and pep talks and constant reassurances that I needed to keep writing this when I thought about dropping out. And for helping me with my tenses cause I managed to retain ZERO knowledge from school. I'm also handing out big time kudos to S for screaming with me over 1920s clothing and L for spending an evening researching the Australian government, police enforcement, and official titles with me, just so I could decide to scrap all of it since I didn't like the flow of Harry's compounded title. I wasted our time but at least we had fun? (I'm so sorry) And a general thank you to everyone from the Drarry discord who sprinted with me!
