A More Enjoyable Assignment (tickle fic)
Tumblr media
Fandom: Heartstopper
Summary: Nick loves to tickle Charlie, but he never lets Charlie tickle him back. Charlie would never admit it to anyone, but all he wanted to do was hear his boyfriend squirm and giggle and it was starting to drive him up the wall.
Forget homework - this Nick-related assignment was way more fun.
My first ever tickle fic! Quite nervous about posting this, so all (kind) feedback very much appreciated.

Nick loved to tickle Charlie. This was common knowledge at this point. Charlie could barely make it through an hour in Nick's company before he was pounced on and his high-pitched babbling and squeals filled the air. Charlie would put up a dramatic fuss every time but honestly, he really didn't mind. And he could see from Nick's shit-eating grin just how much joy it brought him.
However, the main issue was that whenever Charlie reached out a retaliating hand to tickle Nick's side, or grabbed his knee to squeeze it, Nick would immediately employ Strong Rugby Arms and intercept his movements, never giving him the chance to properly get his revenge. He'd never admit it to anyone, but all Charlie wanted to do was hear his boyfriend squirm and giggle and it was starting to drive him up the wall.
One Sunday afternoon, they were studying on Nick's bedroom floor, music playing softly in the background. They lay on their stomachs alongside each other, hips and shoulders touching. Charlie had sunk so deep into quadratic equations that he was barely aware of his surroundings, until he felt the familiar sensation of fingers digging expertly, but gently, into his armpit. It took a few seconds for his brain to catch up and then he gasped and squirmed away.
“Nick!” he all but squawked. “You're such a menace.”
When he turned to look at him, Nick was scribbling on his own Geography paper, his face schooled into an unconvincing expression of concentration. Charlie scoffed.
“You're fooling literally no one at this point,” he said, rolling his eyes affectionately and tapping Nick gently on the forehead with his pen.
A smile spread slowly across Nick's face, and he suddenly grabbed for Charlie's hips with both hands and squeezed. This was one of his worst spots – which Nick knew, the arsehole – and Charlie immediately crumbled, attempting to curl into the foetal position on the floor while high-pitched squeals poured out of him.
“Stop it, stop it, stop it!” he cried, trying to wriggle away. Nick just chuckled and ignored him, spidering his fingers up his sides. “Ah fu – fuck, Nick, that tickles so m-much – please...” His arms were flailing wildly, trying to grab Nick's hands and slow his movements.
Nick grinned but paused for a second, clearly winding down so as not to completely overwhelm him, and Charlie saw his chance. He lunged for Nick's thigh but before he could get any leverage, Nick casually plonked his entire body across Charlie's on the floor, leaving him unable to move.
“Nah, I don't think so,” Nick said calmly.
“Oh, for god sake.”
They lay there for a few moments, Charlie catching his breath after the attack. Nick's pinning was clever in stopping him being able to move much, whilst carefully avoiding actually hurting him. Eventually, Nick lifted his weight off Charlie and they rolled onto their sides to face each other.
“You good?” Nick asked, giving him his trademark lopsided smile.
“Yeah,” Charlie said, returning the grin with ease. They just drank each other in for a few seconds. “But you always -” He started, but then faltered, embarrassed.
“Hmm?” Nick was suddenly frowning slightly, always able to read him like a bloody book. He reached for Charlie's hand, linking their fingers together.
“You don't -” Charlie blew out a breath, frustrated at his inability to form words. “You never let me tickle you back.”
“Oh!” Nick's face softened with understanding, and then he grinned. “I know.”
“But why?”
“It's just funny,” Nick shrugged. “And because you're cute when you're annoyed. And in general.”
Charlie would never get used to Nick's unabashed compliments. He felt his face heat up as a rush of warmth spread through his body. “Shut up.”
“And when you're flustered.” The lopsided smile of pure sunshine was back.
“Nick, stop it! It's not fair when I don't get to fluster you back.” Nick's grin just grew wider. “Are you even ticklish?” Charlie asked, his eyes roaming around the parts of Nick's body that he knew were his own worst spots. He leaned in to poke his stomach but as usual Nick was too quick for him, grabbing his wrist.
“Ah now, that would be telling,” Nick replied in a gentle tone.
Charlie groaned, and Nick laughed brightly. “Do you giggle? I bet you're a giggler.”
“Absolutely not.”
A thought occurred to Charlie, and he had a sudden flash of anxiety. “If you really hate being tickled then it's fine, I won't tickle you. I just thought -”
“Charlie,” Nick interrupted softly, running his thumb over Charlie's knuckles. “It's okay. I don't hate it. I just happen to be very very good at stopping you.”
“Well, I think it's mean of you to use Muscle 1 and Muscle 2 against me,” Charlie said sternly, poking each of them in turn with a finger.
Nick snorted. “Ah, but we both know that you like the arms.”
“Not in this context! Anyway, forget homework because this is my new assignment.”
Nick said nothing, just looked at him affectionately for a moment and then leaned across to kiss him. Charlie sank into it, but pulled back after a few moments to appraise him. “You scared?”
Nick pretended to mull it over. “Hmm... nope. But you should be.”
Charlie rolled his eyes, but then burst into surprised laughter a moment later as Nick dived for his knees.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Charlie took this assignment very seriously – it was in his geeky nature, after all – and work began the very next day. He figured that the best tactic was to catch Nick off guard when he might not be able to react quickly enough to stop him. It was hardly the most well-thought-out plan but he didn't really have many other options.
His first attempt was first thing on Monday morning, in form room. Mr Lange was about to take the register and Nick was hastily completing his Geography homework that was (of course) due first thing.
“If only you'd finished this yesterday like a good student, instead of distracting us both with those magic fingers of yours,” Charlie whispered.
Nick just turned to him, raising an eyebrow at his inadvertent choice of words.
“Tickling fingers, I mean,” Charlie added, hastily and unnecessarily.
“I know,” Nick replied, entirely too innocently. “What else would you mean?”
Charlie gave him a look, but couldn't stop the grin that took over his face a moment later. Nick was winding him up, and it was on. When Nick turned back to his work, Charlie bit his lip in concentration, looking him up and down. The problem was that he didn't know where Nick's weak spots were, but the idea of finding out was more exciting than he'd care to admit.
Knees were normally a weak spot, right? And they were hidden under the desk where no one else could see what was going on. Probably a good place to start.
Charlie shuffled a bit closer to Nick on his chair – not unusual, so Nick didn't bat an eyelid, just continued writing. He reached out his left hand as surreptitiously as he could, shifting it under the desk towards Nick's right leg. Before he could overthink it and chicken out, Charlie reached for the fleshy part just above Nick's knee and squeezed.
He heard Nick's sharp intake of breath and felt his hand instantly shoot out and close around Charlie's hand.
“Excuse me!” Nick muttered, chuckling in surprise. “What do you think you're doing?”
“My new homework assignment,” Charlie answered, unable to keep the grin off his face. “Finding Nick's giggle.”
“Oh, I see how it is. Well, I'm pretty certain there was no giggle there, so good luck with that.”
“Well, that was just phase one. Plenty more to come.”
Nick just smirked. “Has anyone ever told you that you're weird?”
Charlie ignored him. “So, knees, seemingly ticklish – noted.”
Nick's expression changed then, to something that Charlie didn't like the look of. “Do you know who else has ticklish knees? My very weird boyfriend.” Before Charlie could blink, Nick's hand shot out to his knee and squeezed back, getting more leverage than Charlie had managed. The sudden and intense ticklish sensation shooting up Charlie's thigh produced a startled giggle in the mostly silent classroom that he couldn't stifle in time. He clapped a hand over his mouth, blushing.
“Charlie, Nick! Quiet down, please,” called Mr Lange.
When they caught each other's eye a second later, they both leant over their desks in silent laughter.

The next day, they were studying in a quiet corner of the library during a free period, with their backs against the shelves and textbooks spread around them. Charlie had already finished his work but he was always happy to keep Nick company.
And if the opportunity arose, perhaps continue with his separate Nick-related assignment.
Twenty minutes in, Nick was on the final page of his history essay, with Charlie mostly watching him work, and chipping in with helpful information when he could. He started absent-mindedly trailing his finger along Nick's forearm, stroking back and forth. After a few minutes, Nick paused.
“You're being quite distracting, you know,” he smiled.
Charlie immediately withdrew, sheepishly. “Oh um, sorry.”
“No no, it's okay, it's, um – it's a nice type of distraction,” Nick said, flushing slightly. “You don't need to stop.”
Charlie looked at his feet, smiling shyly, and continued the soothing motions on Nick's arm. He felt Nick's relaxed exhale a moment later.
After a couple more minutes, Charlie was getting a little restless, and a slightly dangerous thought entered his mind. He looked down at Nick's side, perfectly exposed as his arms were raised to write in his book which was balanced on his bent knees.
He couldn't, could he?
Charlie took a look around – there was no one within sight, but the library wasn't empty. It was as quiet as you'd expect from such an environment. He slowly shifted his hand that was caressing Nick's arm, and casually moved it down to trail his fingers lightly over Nick's side instead. Nick immediately jerked away in surprise, but still no giggle – dammit.
Nick turned to look at him. “Don't you dare,” he said warningly, but Charlie could easily spot the amused glint in his eye.
“Don't what?” Charlie asked innocently. “Finish your homework.”
And surprisingly, Nick did. Bless his trusting soul. However, it was as he was writing the very last paragraph that Charlie just couldn't resist a second attempt. This time, he was determined to produce some sort of audible reaction from him. He knew he'd have to be quick because Nick would surely be expecting it at this point, and the rugby player had lightning-quick reactions. So Charlie waited until Nick was deep in concentration, scribbling away, before he reached for his side again and dug his fingers into the flesh more firmly. Nick didn't manage to move away quite as quickly this time and Charlie got a few good squeezes in - Nick's gasp and slight yelp were music to his ears.
“Oh I'm sorry, what was that?” Charlie asked, far too pleased with himself.
“You're ridiculous,” Nick retorted, but he was grinning widely. He'd only shifted to the left slightly, hadn't blocked Charlie's hand as he usually would, so Charlie decided to try his luck and moved up a little higher, feathering fingers over his ribs through his shirt. Nick's nose scrunched up adorably and a second later he was actually laughing – admittedly quietly, and it wasn't quite the uncontrollable giggle he was aiming for, but Charlie's heart still clenched at the adorableness of it as he watched Nick's eyes clench shut and felt him squirm against the sensations. He also noted that Nick could easily get away if he really wanted to, but he hadn't moved. Definitely not torture, then.
A few moments later, just as Charlie became bolder and travelled towards his armpit, Nick's hand finally came down to block him. “Ch – Charlie,” he managed around a soft gasp. “Stop.”
“Sorry, I didn't quite catch that?”
Nick rolled his eyes, breathing slightly heavily. “God, that was intense – I had to stop you before I really started cackling. We're in a library, you maniac.”
Charlie pouted dramatically. “But I wanted to hear you giggle.”
“Tough,” Nick replied, smiling. “Also, why do you keep doing this in places where we need to be quiet?”
“It's more fun that way.”
“I'm not sure if I like this new, rebellious Charlie.” The lingering kiss Nick gave him a second later was a pretty strong argument to the contrary.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
After his recent success, Charlie abandoned his mission for a few days. The plan was to lull Nick into a false sense of security, but based on the way he put up almost no resistance in the library, Charlie probably didn't have much to worry about. The memory gave him a little thrill whenever he thought about it. However, he still hadn't fully scratched that itch and he was nothing if not determined.
On Friday night, Nick was round at Charlie's house and they were sitting on the edge of his bed, mostly making out and occasionally playing Mario Kart. Charlie won every time, of course. After his third loss, Nick was so worked up that he thwacked Charlie in the face with a pillow and Charlie couldn't stop cackling.
“I'm really never gonna let you win, you know,” Charlie said firmly, after he'd calmed down.
Nick sighed. “Yeah, I know.” He flopped backwards onto the bed dramatically. “Maybe we need to find a game I'm good at.”
“Sorry, not sorry.” He looked at Nick out of the corner of his eye. “I feel like you need some stress relief.”
Nick raised his head from his lying position. “Are you going to give me a massage?” he asked, all hopeful puppy dog eyes.
Charlie giggled, shaking his head. “Maybe later. I've got a better idea.” He deftly climbed onto the bed and sat himself on Nick's calves, facing him. “A cliche once told me that laughter is the best medicine, so I think we should test that theory.”
Nick just frowned as he watched him. “Charlie...”
“Are you seeing where I'm going with this?” Charlie asked, smirking at Nick's adorably confused expression.
“I'm not sure, but it definitely doesn't seem like I'm about to get a massage.”
A thought struck Charlie. “Okay, fine, I'll give you a massage. How about a... foot massage?”
Nick's eyes widened. “Um, no, I'm – I'm good actually.”
Bingo. “Oh really? Why's that, then?”
“Um...” Nick sat up slightly and tried to move his legs, but they barely budged with Charlie's full body weight on top of them. His fate seemed to fully dawn on him then and he flopped backwards, hands covering his face and a nervous laugh bubbling out of him. “Shit.”
“So first thing's first – socks. You won't be needing those.” Charlie reached behind him and, with some skill considering he couldn't see what he was doing, slowly peeled off Nick's socks one at a time. Even just these simple movements caused Nick's feet to twitch slightly, and Charlie bit back a smile. He'd surely hit the jackpot here.
“Would you mind telling me what you're doing?” Nick asked, clearly attempting to give him the stink eye through the gaps in the hands covering his face.
Charlie thought about it. “Homework,” he said simply, before reaching back to run a single finger gently along the arch of Nick's bare foot. The reaction was immediate and delicious – the scrunching of the toes, the panicked gasp of “Charlie!”. Charlie chuckled and brought his hand back in front of him.
“This is so unfair,” Nick whined, trying again to shift his feet but with absolutely no success.
“Consider it payback for the many times you've reduced me to a squealing mess.” He leaned closer, to whisper in Nick's ear. “You're about to get wrecked, Nelson.”
“I – no – come on, please -”
“Begging already, are we?”
“Will it make you stop?”
“Definitely not. We have to find that giggle.” He paused, struck with a sudden thought. “Oh and by the way, your safeword is bubblegum.”
“I – okay – but Charlie -” Nick screwed his eyes shut. The anticipatory giggles were already starting to sneak their way out of him, and Charlie's heart melted at the sound. He leaned forward again to press a kiss to the tip of Nick's nose.
“You're so fucking cute – I haven't even started yet,” Charlie smiled.
“Yeah, but -” Nick ran his fingers through his hair anxiously. “My feet are so ticklish, I might actually die.”
“Well, the ticklish truth is finally coming out. Also, you definitely won't die. Now stop distracting me.” He reached behind him again with his right hand, hovering close to Nick's foot for a few moments for dramatic effect. Nick groaned loudly as the seconds passed.
“Such a tease...” he muttered.
When Charlie could hold back no longer, he went straight for Nick's arch with purpose, scribbling his fingers vigorously over the soft skin. To his delight, Nick fell to pieces instantly, emitting a high-pitched squeal that Charlie had definitely never heard him make before. It was immediately followed by chuckles which quickly turned into desperate, breathy giggles as Charlie moved up to scratch at the back of his toes.
“No no no no no, Charlie ple - hease -” Nick spat out through giggles, his face scrunched up in a beautiful combination of euphoria and torture. His hands gripped the pillow behind his head. Charlie didn't let up, focusing in on the base of his big toe that was evidently incredibly ticklish based on the strangled cry he let out, and in a moment of pure evil, Charlie reached behind him with his other hand and attacked both big toes at once, producing a new bout of uncontrollable laughter. He didn't turn around as he didn't want to miss a second of Nick's helpless reactions.
“Yep, this is how I d-die,” Nick managed to get out, writhing from side to side in ticklish desperation.
“How does it feel, Nick? Do you promise never to tickle me again?” Charlie knew he didn't actually want this, but he also knew Nick would never agree to it either.
“I can never p-promise that – oh god, stohohop -” Charlie had moved back down to the arches of his feet in just the right spot, and Nick's hips bucked as the giggles poured out in a constant stream. Charlie wished he could bottle the sound. He focused on the killer spots of Nick's feet for a solid few minutes, often giggling along with him as he worked his magic, but listening carefully for any utterances of the safe word. It was only when Nick's laughter turned completely silent that he let up. He pulled his hands back to his front but stayed perched on Nick's legs, watching him recover fondly.
“I hate you,” Nick said weakly, a few moments later. “I also love you, but I hate you. Just so you know.”
Charlie just grinned and leaned forward to lie gently on top of him, resting his chin on Nick's chest. “I love you too,” he said, suddenly feeling bashful and overwhelmed with affection. “I can't really deal with how cute you are.”
Nick just rolled his eyes and smiled at him. “Do you know who else is cute? My very ticklish boyfriend.” And Charlie should have predicted what would happen next as Nick's hands reached greedily for his sides.
He wasn't really complaining.

Prompt #33: "Oh? You want me to tickle you that badly?"
Missing You Making Me Laugh
Tumblr media
Two weeks away from each other was enough.
Charlie had known Nick was going on holiday with his family well in advance. Nick had told him about his family's tradition of traveling to Menorca every year to get together with the rest of his extended family, and how one day he wanted to take Charlie with him. Even a few hours apart from one another at school was agonizing for the both of them in general, so two weeks in different countries was absolute hell.
Luckily, Nick had kept his promise of calling Charlie every night to talk to him, checking in on his mental health back home and updating him about his cousins' antics around the vacation house. He'd send him pictures of the dogs together, him and other relatives, and so on, but Charlie still felt lonely without the older boy next to him.
He wasn't afraid to let his boyfriend know how he felt when he'd call, and every time Nick would answer with, "I know, I miss you too. It's only a few more days and I'll be back." Then he'd give him that classic, charming Nick Nelson smile that always stole Charlie's heart.
It wasn't just Nick's company Charlie was missing. It was something else. Something that made Charlie blush whenever he thought about it, giddiness and nerves overtaking him on the inside.
Charlie was known by his friends to be extremely ticklish. He, Tao, Elle, and Isaac had had their fair share of tickle fights and ambushes, and for as long as he could remember, Charlie very nearly was always being ganged up on. He couldn't help it, of course. He'd always been a walking tickle spot since he was little, Tori taking advantage of it as her duty of being the older sibling. It was something he'd tried and obviously had failed at hiding from Nick once they began dating, more out of embarrassment than anything.
When Nick had figured out Charlie's ticklishness, he'd gushed about how adorable he found it and that it just added to one of the things he loved best about him.
Charlie had been extremely embarrassed at first, but slowly became comfortable with the fact that Nick wasn't weirded out by him. In fact, Nick tickled him at almost every chance he got, almost anywhere they were. It made Charlie feel overjoyed by the fact that someone wasn't afraid to be physically affectionate with him, even if it meant being at the receiving end of it all.
But now, Charlie almost felt starved by this absence. He didn't have Nick whispering teases into his ear as he held him close against his chest. He didn't have him chasing him around his house and cornering him before tickling him into hysterics. He missed Nick's goofy self whenever he got into his moods, and he wanted it more than anything. And he needed that now.
He was currently sitting at his desk in his bedroom, on one of his daily calls with his boyfriend. The sun was setting through the window, and Charlie knew he didn't have much time until he needed to get ready to head off to bed. He could hear Nick talking about his afternoon, helping to babysit the younger of his cousins, but he wasn't truly listening. His thoughts kept going to that one specific thing he had on his mind all day.
"Charlie?" On the screen, Nick's face was filled with concern, his head tilted slightly. "What's wrong? You look all flushed."
Charlie cleared his throat, "I-I'm fine." Then as an afterthought, "Sorry."
"No," Nick shook his head, his eyes narrowing. "No S-words from you, sir. I thought we banned that word for good."
Charlie bit his lip, his heart racing in his chest. "Oh yeah, I forgot. Sorry."
Nick wasn't oblivious. He could see the beginning of that cheeky smirk even through the screen of his phone.
"Charles Francis Spring," He said slowly, causing Charlie to shiver in his chair, "Are you purposely trying to rile me up right now?"
Charlie felt like his whole being was on fire from how hard he was blushing. Even through the phone screen he couldn't look Nick in the eye.
"Talk to me. What are you thinking in that pretty little head of yours?"
"I-I-" the younger swallowed, adrenaline pumping through his veins. He knew Nick had caught on to what he wanted. Of course he had. Nick could read Charlie like an open book. It felt like he was right there in his bedroom with him.
"Is there something you want from me?" Nick couldn't help his own smirk from appearing on his face, raising an eyebrow at his boyfriend teasingly.
"Stooop," Charlie whined, covering his face with his hands, a nervous giggle escaping his lips.
"I'm just asking a question!" Nick laughed, and Charlie shook his head, still hiding his face. After a moment of silence, Nick leaned in a little. "Charlieee..."
"Do I have to say it?" Charlie asked, finally peaking through his fingers at his boyfriend and trying not to combust.
"I'd love to hear it."
They kept their eyes locked with one another, both of them grinning like idiots. Finally, Charlie let out a long sigh, looking down at his hands.
"I- I want you to..." His voice was barely audible, and Nick chuckled as he trailed off. "What? I'm sorry, you want me to...?"
"You know what." Charlie said playfully exasperated, and Nick crossed his arms over his chest, remaining silent.
Charlie's leg was bouncing under his desk, and he let out another sigh, squirming in his seat. "Iwantyoutotickleme."
"Again?"
He rolled his eyes. "I want you to... tickle me."
"And it finally comes out." Nick leaned back again in his chair, looking at his boyfriend smugly.
"Shut up."
"Oh? You want me to tickle you that badly? You miss me teasing you and playing with you? You miss me making you laugh so hard you can barely breathe? You miss me making you all flustered to the point you can't speak in complete sentences?"
"Shut up!" Charlie squealed, closing his eyes as nervous giggles began pouring out of his mouth. He could almost feel the sensation of Nick poking at him playfully, and it was driving him nuts.
"Oh Char, just you wait until I get back. Because I miss it too. I've nearly gone insane without hearing your adorable laughter. I miss seeing you squirm underneath me. So as soon as I get home, you better be ready. We'll have to make sure my mum isn't home. She'll think I'm murdering you."
"Nicholas, I will hang up on you." Charlie threatened, though by the tone of his voice, Nick knew he wasn't serious. However, he decided to egg him on once more. "Go ahead. That'll just seal your fate even more."
"Ugh, stop!" Charlie grabbed his phone, both boys laughing at this point. "You're impossible!"
"Okay, okay." Nick raised his hands, finally relenting. "You're just too cute to not tease you."
Charlie scoffed, moving to his bed and falling onto his back, his phone raised above him. "You're a menace, you know that?"
"Oh, I know." Nick winked, and Charlie felt his heart flutter in his chest. "Anyways, I have to get going. My family's going to be eating dinner soon. I'll talk to you tomorrow."
"Okay." Charlie felt slightly disappointed. He always hated hanging up with Nick at the end of a call.
Nick must've sensed his change of moods, and his expression softened. "Only a few more days, mon amour." He whispered, and Charlie nodded.
"Only a few more days."

Fandom: Heartstopper
Characters: Nick and Charlie
Words: 1500
Story: Nick and Charlie are watching a movie when Charlie discovers a secret about Nick.
———————————————————————————
It was a cozy, Halloween afternoon at Nick's house. The air was filled with the warmth of a crackling fireplace and the sweet scent of freshly baked pumpkin pie, courtesy of Charlie. Nick and Charlie, sat on the living room couch, enjoying each other's company and intently watching the latest horror movie – Nick gripping Charlie’s hand every time a jump scare happened.
“Oh my gosh, who knew rugby lad Nick Nelson was scared of horror movies?” Charlie jokingly remarked when his boyfriend squeezed his hand for what felt like the hundredth time.
“Hey..” he lowered his voice, still playful, whilst poking Charlie’s side, earning a yelp and a slight giggle “that was uncalled for, there’s no need for this many scares- why couldn’t you let me watch a Marvel movie or something where I don’t feel on edge for 2 hours?’ A slight tinge of red growing on his face.
‘You know I hate Marvel movies and this is just a bit of fun, it’s Halloween of course we have to watch a horror film - it’s an unspoken law.’ Charlie justified his movie choice. Nick simply flinched again when another haunting note was played on the organ.
Nellie, afraid of the loud noises, curled up beside them. “This is just cruel, you’re scaring Nellie now, how dare you terrify my dog’ Nick looked down at Charlie with a cheeky grin as Charlie sassily rolled his eyes.
Nick absentmindedly scratched Nellie behind the ears, and she wagged her tail in bliss. The ‘rugby lad’ shifted his focus back to the movie when Nellie leaned towards his side, her nose sniffing around, in an attempt to find the comfiest place to rest her head. Feeling her nose poking around over his side caused Nick to squirm slightly - his hand flew up to cover his mouth but even that couldn’t stop the muffled giggles from tumbling out of him.
Charlie, never one to miss an opportunity for a good laugh, was quick to notice Nick's amusement. He turned to his boyfriend with a mischievous grin and an eyebrow raised – noticing his lover’s shoulders bouncing up and down with uncontrollable giggles.
"What's got you laughing, Nick?" Charlie asked, his curiosity piqued.
Still chuckling, Nick replied, "I dohont knohow what it ihis, but Nehehellie ihihis snihihiffing mehe. Ihit feheheels so weheheird.’
Charlie's eyes twinkled mischievously as an idea sparked in his mind. Scooting closer to Nick, he playfully wiggled his fingers in the air- Nick’s giggling subtly increasing, which unfortunately for him, Charlie noticed.
"Oh, so you think tickling is funny, huh? Because you’re already giggling more with just my fingers giving near you. I think I’m going to have to test my hypothesis that teasing makes you even more ticklish than usual!" Charlie declared, before pouncing on Nick gently, tickling his sides mercilessly.
Nick immediately burst out into hysterical laughter, squirming and trying to escape Charlie's ticklish assault. His joyful laughter filled the room, echoing off the walls, blending with the crackle of the fire.
‘Aww Nick, does this tickle? Are your sides ticklish?’ He taunted - fingers increasing their speed and exploring every inch of his sides – relishing in the increasing cackles he elicited from his boyfriend. ‘Wow. You’re reacting like this just on your sides when I know you’re more ticklish elsewhere. I wonder what will happen if I just happen to….I don’t know…. Go here?’ Charlie’s devilish fingers spidered into the hollows of Nick’s armpits, drawing out a squeal from the burly lad as he clamped his arms down, thus trapping the notoriously nimble fingers in one of his worst tickle spots.
‘Chahahar stohohop teheasing…. I cahahant…’ is all the older boy could get out as he attempted to thrash himself away from tickles.
‘Aw you’re so adorable like this you know…. But you do realise my hands are trapped here? I would like to have my hands back if that’s okay with you? So be a good boyfriend and lift your arms up for me?’
‘I chahahant – I knohohhow thahaht trihihick’ Nick giggled out, cheeks turning a flushed shade of red.
Charlie simply sighed theatrically. ‘Okay have it your way, I can do this all day, I’ll just stay in your ticklish armpits for eternity.’
After many, many, many attempts, Nick finally mustered the ability to lift his arms enough to release Charlie’s fingers. Charlie finally relented, allowing Nick to catch his breath, but remained on him. Unbeknownst to them, Nicks mom had witnessed the latter of the attack – a grin on her face hearing Nick’s laugh.
‘It’s been a while since I heard you laugh like that Nicky, darling’ she finally broke the silence.
Almost in synchronisation, Charlie’s head whipped around, and Nick’s head popped out from the side of Charlie – juxtaposing expressions of both embarrassment and their residual smiles.
‘Don’t forget Charlie, his inner thighs are his worst spot…’
‘Oh really’ Charlie, grinning back at her before she left, whipped his head back to face his boyfriend and was able to secure himself on Nick’s waist, hands evilly hovering near his thighs, ready to test out this newfound information.
‘Mom you’re such a traitor… Char – Chahar wahahait.’ Nick’s hands shot out trying to push Charlie’s hands away from his thighs, not being able to stop the anticipatory giggles that tumbled out.
‘enjoy the rest of the night darlings.’ She exited the room swiftly - cup of tea in hand, wide smile of joy plastered on her face.
‘I’m dyyying to see this now’ Charlie playfully exclaimed, locking eyes with Nick’s who attempted his classic golden retriever puppy eyes. Any other scenario, Charlie would have caved immediately… not today.
One squeeze was all it took.
‘CHAR- NOHOHO’ An onlooker would have thought he’d been struck by lightning with the intensity of his reaction from one squeeze.
‘Oh…..my….gosh….. you really are adorably ticklish, have I told you?’ Charlie teased, slightly shocked at how ticklish his boyfriend actually was. Without giving Nick a chance to answer he used both hands to squeeze the tenderly, ticklish inner thighs.
‘AHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH CHAHAHAHHAHAAR………. NOHOHOHOHO’ Nick positively screamed, head thrown back, back arched, legs violently kicking and thrashing from side to side to escape the ticklish torment from his lover.
‘Aw nick, tickle tickle tickle’ Charlie cooed. Another squeal escaped Nick.
‘The teases definitely make you more ticklish…. Somehow that’s possible… does this tickle sweetheart? Tickle…. Tickle… tickle….’ Charlie enunciated every ‘tickle’ that he spoke with alternating squeezes on his thighs, tears of laughter forming in Nick’s eyes.
He finally let up once Nick’s laughter turned silent. Red faced and breathless yet still giggling with a wide smile on his face – still looking at his tickler boyfriend with the adoration he’s had for him since their first meeting.
Charlie sat next to nick once again, rather proud of his playful victory of proving his hypothesis right.
‘I think you’re the most ticklish person I’ve ever met Nicholas Nelson’ a mischievous glint in his eye as he teased his red-faced boyfriend.
‘You sure about that?’ Nick questioned, his playful energy surging back to him. ‘So it seems tickling is the weapon of choice today then, huh?’ He paused, waiting for Charlie's response.
Charlie's expression shifted, realising he had fallen into a classic trap. "Oh no, what have I done?" he exclaimed dramatically, pretending to gasp.
Without giving Charlie any time to react, Nick lunged forward, expertly targeting Charlie's ticklish spots. His nimble fingers danced across Charlie's ribs, and Charlie erupted into laughter squirming and wriggling, gradually slipping further and further down the couch.
‘NIHIHICK STOHOHOP’ Charlie cackled.
The room filled with the joyful sounds of their laughter, mingling with Nellie's barks of excitement as she joined in the fun. Nick couldn't help but laugh along with Charlie, feeling their bond grow even stronger with every ticklish retaliation.
‘Come on Nellie, you tickled me, now it’s time to help tickle Charlie’ Nick playfully exclaimed to the cheery dog, who simply licked Charlie’s face and settled beside him.
After another few minutes, Nick finally stopped tickling Charlie, both boys left breathless and feeling an indescribable joy radiating between them. They sat back on the couch, leaning against each other, recovering from the tickle-induced euphoria.
‘ I think we've had enough tickles for one day, we still have a movie to watch’ Charlie said, grinning widely.
Both lads locked eyes on the TV only to find the credits rolling in the movie – much to Nick’s delight. Unable to control his smugness of not having to watch the horror movie, Nick glanced at Charlie. Almost telepathically, their hands attracted each other into a tight hold – maintaining their eye contact of admiration and affection - when they both softly uttered the words ‘I love you’ followed by the most endearing of smiles from both lads. A passionate kiss sealed their phrase, followed by Nick’s choice of romantic movie.
As they sat there watching the new movie, the room enveloped in a cozy silence, Nick and Charlie relished in the warmth of their relationship. Laughing together, sharing playful moments, and creating memories like these reminded them that this is the love they both deserve.

Nick came out of the bathroom of the hotel room in Paris
Charlie was playing on his cell phone alone in his bed
Nick threw himself at the boy's legs
“Nick! You’re heavy, idiot!” Charlie laughed when he felt the other on top of him.
“But it's so good here~” Nick turned his head to look at his boyfriend, seeing that he was smiling he had to smile too
“Lie down next to me like someone NORMAL” Charlie emphasized that last word by nudging Nick with his foot.
“But Char~”
The older one started running his fingers over the other's feet.
“Nihihicolahas”
“And since when has my name been that, mon’Amur”
Charlie, with nowhere to run and his face now red, started kicking his legs until Nick was thrown out of bed.
Nick stood up and looked surprised.
“DID YOU THROW ME OUT OF BED?” He exclaimed
Charlie laughed “you didn’t give me a choice”
Nick started to walk slowly towards Charlie, the youngest started to feel butterflies in his stomach
Nick crossed his arms “apologize”
“NO” Charlie exclaimed laughing “you deserved it”
Nick jumped on top of him, started squeezing every sensitive inch of his body, kissing his neck, squeezing his sides and ribs and especially that special little place on his knee.
“NIHIHICK NOHOHOHO” Charlie was a mix of blushes, squeals and very cute giggles
“Apologize, mon’Amur,” Nick whispered with an additional (and purposeful) breath in his ear.
Charlie can't answer
Nick began to squeeze not only the front part of his boyfriend's body but the back as well.
“AHAHAH” Charlie exclaimed
“On saying that someone doesn’t need to manage quelques chatouilles~”
“NOHOHOT FREHEHENCH”
"Apologize"
“SOHOHOHOHOHORRY”
“In French~”
Charlie threw his head back
“DÉSOHOHOLÉ”
Nick stopped, just lying on top of his boyfriend while the other panted and laughed softly.
“You are so horrible”
“And you’re so stupid if you think you make me believe you don’t like it.”
Their eyes met, they kissed
Nick got up
“Come on Charles. Allons-y mon petit ami chatouilleux”
“Oh how bilingual you are Nicolas”
“And you’re just a Brit.”
They both burst into laughter

The Trouble With Asking
Author’s Note: Ho ho hiya! @cringemesstickles happy holidays from your secret Squealing Santa! I hope you enjoy what I’ve written, I had a ton of fun with the anticipation - it’s just the cutest.
Fandom: Heartstopper; Nick/Charlie
Word Count: 390
“Charlie, it really isn’t hard,” Nick Nelson laughed, adjusting his positioning on his boyfriend’s hips, fingertips looming over the clothed ribs in front of him. Ashen blonde hair fell against his forehead as he bent down even closer to Charlie Spring’s reddening left ear, blocking the setting rays of the sun spilling into the bedroom from the open window.
“Just ask.”
The younger boy sputtered out a strangled kind of giggle, eyes flicking nervously to Nick’s hands as he wriggled against his mattress. “Nick, I can’t, I-I don’t-”
“Look, I’ll give you a little motivation. Either you ask me to tickle you-”
“Nick-”
“Or,” the rugby lad continued, smirk barely contained by a hastily bitten lip. “Or I can start with your ribs as…well, does ‘punishment’ really even fit here? Because you like-”
“Alright, okay-” Charlie huffed, the blush he sported across the tips of his ears sinking down into his cheeks and coloring them a dusty rose. His light eyes softened as he gazed into the other’s dark ones; it really wasn’t fair, how much Nick resembled his dog Nellie whilst he waited for something.
So patient, but just as adorably unforgiving.
“I don’t have all day, Char,” Nick murmured in a low voice that made Charlie shudder from his shoulders all the way down to his toes. His fingers twitched at Charlie’s ribs, grazing the bones with a feather-light touch, and Charlie all but shrieked in surprise.
“Okahay, okay,” he giggled, high-pitched and breathy as his fingers moved of their own volition to grab at his partner’s, halting them in an instant.
Nick froze, genuinely puzzled. His face fell. “Did I-?”
“No! No, god, no-” Charlie was fast, leaning up on his elbows to press a kiss to his forehead. A shy grin spread from ear to ear once he pulled away, rosy blush returning. “I’m sorry. You did nothing wrong, I-”
Charlie took a deep, wavering breath before exhaling the words out in a whirlwind. “NickNelsonpleasetickleme.”
If he hadn’t been so flustered, he would’ve laughed at the sight of Nick’s relieved grin, altogether eclipsing the sun in its beam of pleasure. “Yeah?”
“...Yeah.”
And if Tori Spring paused momentarily outside of her brother’s bedroom to give an affectionate eye roll towards the door at the sound of shared euphoric laughter, what of it?

Entry Requirement
a/n: whipped this up in one sitting, so anyone should be eternaly grateful. if there are any parts that don't make sense or sound wrong, blame it on the fact that it is now 4am ♡
Summary: Movie night, it's a classic.
Ship: Nick/Charlie
1809 words
Wednesday
"My mum will be out of town on Saturday."
"Hm?"
"I was thinking, we could do that movie night we've been talking about."
"..."
"Charlie."
A nudge of an elbow eventually tore the younger boy away from his essay.
"Look what you've done! Now my 'T' is all squiggly."
Nick simply smiled, shooting innocent eyes at his form partner.
"Did you hear what I said?"
Charlie huffed a little as he tried to save the untidy letter by tracing over it a couple of times. "When?"
"Just now."
Charlie paused and stared blankly at Nick.
Nick chuckled and shook his head. "Movie night, Saturday."
"Oh. Yeah, sounds good." He paused. "Should we invite Tao and Elle?"
Nick shrugged, leaning back in his chair and folding his arms over his chest. "Do you want to invite them?"
Charlie's eyes flickered down briefly, noticing the fabric of Nick's shirt stretch across the older boy's broad shoulders.
"Uh... Y-Yeah? Well-... Actually, I don't know if we'll be able to settle on anything to watch with Tao there. So, maybe-... Maybe next time."
The corner of Nick's mouth curled upwards and he nodded. "Sounds fair. I was hoping it would only be the two of us."
Charlie felt a flutter in the center of his chest and was unable to hold back the grin that split his face in two. "Yeah?."
Nick nodded, leaning forward and picking up his own pen again. "So, I'll sort out the snacks and you can pick what to watch."

Saturday
Saturday couldn't come early enough. It had been a few weeks since the two had officially started 'going out', but it all still felt pretty surreal to Charlie.
Being paired up with Nick had been the single best thing to ever happen to him. He could even look past all the bad things that had happened over the last months since they brought him right to this point.
"I'm heading out!" Charlie called from where he stood, flattening out his hair in the mirror by the front door.
"Alright! Have fun! Be back by eleven, please!"
"Okay!"
Although the walk to Nick's house took barely 10 minutes, on days like these it felt like an eternity.
Before Charlie even had the chance to reach out for the doorbell, the door swung open.
"Hi!"
"...H-Hi."
Nick grinned. "I was in the kitchen, I saw you coming."
They leaned in for a short kiss.
"Oh, resulted to stalking now, have we?" Charlie teased as he stepped into the house.
Nick scoffed and ruffled the younger boy's hair, knowing fully well he had probably spent the last 20 minutes obsessing over making them lay perfect.
"Hey!"
"What?"
"Don't think, just because you're cute, you can get away with everything, Nicholas," Charlie warned teasingly as he hung up his coat and tore off his Converse.
Nick slid his hands into the pockets of his joggers, his head tilting to one side slightly. "Haven't I already?"
The beeping of the microwave cut off any chance for a snarky comeback.
"Oh, the popcorn." Nick rushed to the kitchen, retrieving the hot packet and doing his best not to burn himself as he transferred the contents to a nearby bowl. "So, what did you bring us?"
Charlie pulled an impressive stack of DVD cases out of the bag he had brought, setting them down on the counter. "A bit of everything."
Nick's eyebrows flew up as he stepped closer, already a handful of popcorn in his mouth. "Wow."
"I thought we could start off with something solid, you know, to get the ball rolling; Then move on to something a bit more angsty, something more emotional, and then top it off with a feel-good rom com."
The corners of Nick's mouth bowed downwards as a sign of being impressed. "You really planned this out, haven't you?"
"Just a bit," Charlie admitted coyly, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Nerd." Nick reached out and pinched Charlie's waist as he passed, leading the way to the living room.
With a gasp and a yip, Charlie's arm flew down again. But before he could even process what had happened, the older boy had already disappeared from view. He gathered the cases and followed the sound of a coke can opening.
"So, how come your mum is out of town?"
"Oh, she has this seminar thing for her work to attend. She thought about driving all the way back in the evening but her company said they'd cover all expenses, so she managed to snag a pretty smart room. It's at this old converted farm in the country, so she took Nellie along too. Get her to sniff some new trees."
Charlie smiled as he plopped down next to Nick, their legs brushing together from the movement. It seemed that Nick had not held back on his end of the bargain. The coffee table held a spread of different drinks, confectionaries, chocolates and even one large pizza. The sight made Charlie a little queasy but he pushed it aside for now.
"So, which film you starting us off with then?"
"Avatar."
"Ooh, blue guys. I'm into it. Let's go!"
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
2 Movies Later
"Are you crying?"
"Wh- No!"
"Nick."
" 'm not."
"You totally are!"
"Listen, that dog has no right being so chill about his own death!"
"Oh, you're crying about the dog. I thought it had something to do with Owen Wilson."
A watery laugh. "Come on. Anyone with a heart would cry at that scene."
Charlie raised his eyebrows as Nick looked over at him.
"Well, anyone except for you, obviously. You're a heartless knob."
Charlie laughed, smushing himself into the backrest of the couch as he watched Nick use the sleeves of his hoodie to wipe the tears from his face. The older boy rested his head back, eyes fixed on the ceiling as he cleared his throat a couple times to free out the lump that had formed.
"You're a mess." Charlie stated simply. He reached out, his arm coming to lay on top of the backrest while his fingers gently brushed through the other's fair hair.
Nick snorted and rubbed his hands over his face. "I am! You did this to me."
Charlie smirked. "Had I only known about this power earlier, you wo-"
Wham!
A pillow hit the younger boy square in the face. As it dropped to his lap, his face stayed frozen, mouth holding onto the words it had been forming.
Nick looked like he hadn't moved an inch. Only the smug smirk on his lips and the quivering shoulders of silent laughter gave him away.
Charlie slowly recovered and picked up the pillow. Less than two seconds later they were a mess of entangled blankets and limbs, each trying to get the upper hand over the other while shouting and laughing.
"Just admit it! Everyone knows you're a Slytherin anyway!"
"I didn't realise I was talking to the Sorting Hat himself-- Oof!"
The full weight of a 16-year old rugby player landed on top of Charlie, almost knocking all the wind from his lungs. "Jesus."
"I will stay right here until you admit that Marley's death is the saddest in cinematic history."
"Really?"
Nick lifted his head, looking down with mock seriousness. "Does it look like I'm joking?"
"It's honestly kind of hard to tell-"
"Your call, Spring."
Charlie chuckled as the older boy slumped back down against his chest.
The lay in silence for a while, the only sound the music playing over the end-credits and their slightly laboured breathing.
"This is actually kind of nice," Nick mumbled, nuzzling his nose against the other's shoulder.
"Yeah?"
"Uh-huh. I see why you use me as a pillow all of the time."
"Let's not let this become a habit though, hm?"
Nick lifted his head. "Why n-Ah! Oi!"
Slender fingers had slipped under the older boy's hoodie and were now pinching at the wearers sides, causing him to jerk and bury his face in Charlie's shoulder.
"Would you look at that. Big rugby boy is ticklish. Who would have thought."
A giggle came as a response as the wandering fingers reached Nick's lower ribs. Nick grabbed onto Charlie's wrists, forcing them back down.
"You're one toho ta-Ah-alk!"
"Sorry, I'm what? Didn't catch that."
Nick's nose scrunched up and in one swift movement he was on his knees, Charlie's hands pinned above his head.
"I said, 'You're one to talk.', Nick replied, cheeks slightly flushed and hair in an untidy mess.
Charlie opened his mouth to reply but the words never made it out. Instead a sharp gasp, followed by a cry, followed by manic cackling filled the room.
Both of Charlie's hands pinned with one of Nick's, the older boy was free to do as he pleased. His large hand easily latched onto the smaller boy's ribcage, even through the jumper he was wearing.
"Nn-aahahah! Ni- Niihiihick!"
"You thought I hadn't noticed? Thought I was just going to let it slide? Perhaps you don't know me very well after all."
"Shahaaahdaahaahp!"
Nick felt a warm fuzziness in his stomach as he watch closely, the squirming boy beneath him. Something about the boisterous laugh and those neat dimples just left him slightly weak in the knees.
This short moment of distraction was all Charlie needed. He managed to free one of his hands out of the death grip and shot it to the nearest spot he could think of to attack. Nick's armpit. Even through the layers of hoodie and t-shirt, the unexpected sensation took the rugby player completely off guard.
His arm buckled and Nick collapsed between Charlie and the back of the couch, shaking his head as no words managed to pass through the wall of wheezy laughter.
Charlie gazed down at Nick's face. This was a sight he was positive he had not seen before. The look of pure euphoria mixed with a hint of agony was not an image he would be able to forget any time soon.
"Truce?"
Nick nodded, trying and failing to squirm away from the ongoing onslaught.
"What was that?" Charlie asked, halting the armpit attack but using his other, now free, hand to brush along the older boy's neck.
"Trucetrucetrucetruce," Nick spluttered, scrunching up his shoulders protectively and swatting at Charlie's hand.
The attack ended. The last remaining giggles subsided and all that was left were huffs of recovering breaths.
Charlie found himself combing his fingers through Nick's hair once more, while the latter nuzzled against his shoulder.
"How did you do that?" Nick mumbled after a few minutes.
"Didn't you hear? All beefy rugby boys must be ridiculously ticklish. It's an entry requirement. Also, did you forget? I have a little brother."
Nick chuckled into Charlie's shoulder, blindly finding a free hand to intertwine his fingers with.
"Why are we like this?"
End.

Heya! #17 for the ask game please! With Nick/Charlie lee!Lee! Please! Your writing is so cute and wholesome!
(I double checked this and they meant just lee Charlie ☺️)
17: “Let’s play a game!”
I would love to!!!!! Absolutely adore these two, I need to write more fics for them. And you are too sweet thank you so much 🥰 glad you like it.
Masterpost Link
Let's Play A Game!
There was nothing Nick loved more than teasing his boyfriend. And what better way than a game he could never win.
"Charlieeeeee!" Nick whined dramatically, practically draping himself over the boy's lap. "I'm so boooooored!"
Charlie let out a giggle. "Nick you know I have to finish this before we do anything else!"
"Anything?! We can't do anything else?!" Nick practically begged, the puppy-dog eyes really adding to his golden retriever aesthetic. "You're already good at maths you don't need any more practice."
There was a moment of silence as Charlie had the audacity to ignore his poor boyfriend who happened to be dying of boredom.
"Let's play a game!" Nick bumped Charlie's shoulder with his own, getting a singular breathy chuckle in response.
"Nick I really need to-"
"Pleeeeeeeease!"
"Fine." Charlie playfully rolled his eyes, setting his books on the bedside table. "What game?"
"My game." Nick smiled innocently, yet the cogs in his evil little brain were already turning.
"Your game?" Charlie asked? "What's your game."
"The rules game."
Obviously, this was complete bollocks. There was no rules game. No winning, no losing, just a whole lot of rules.
Charlie, slowly beginning to suspect this was the case, decided to humour Nick.
Big mistake.
"And what are the rules to this game?"
"Rule number one, no asking the rules." Nick smirked. "You lose!"
The second those words left his lips, Nick launched into Charlie and began wriggling his fingers into the poor boy's sides. Charlie - caught completely unawares - dissolved into loud cackles and twists. The pair were caught in a Charlie-tickle-tango for a few moments before Nick finally retreated.
"That's so not fair!" Charlie stuttered. "I didn't know!"
"Rule number 2: No complaining about the rules!" Nick grinned, arms reaching out for Charlie's sides again.
"NIHIHIHICK!" He screeched, arms flailing wildly in a failed attempt to protect himself.
"You gotta play by the rules Char!" Nick teased over Charlie's giggles. "That's how you win!"
"BUHUHUT HOW-" Charlie began, interrupting himself with his own laughter. "HOHOHOW DOHOHO I-"
Nick retracted his hands after Charlie's second giggle-fit.
"How do I wihin if I don't know the ruhules?"
Nick was momentarily hypnotised by the sight in front of him. Charlie's bright smile plastered across his red hot cheeks, faint lines wrinkled into his forehead acted as a reminder of just how much Charlie scrunches his face when he's tickled. God he was adorable.
Nick grinned once he removed himself from the trance.
"You can't ask how to win Char, that's rule number 3!"
"NO NO NO NO NICK!" Charlie begged, leaning his body backwards onto his elbow in a pitiful escape attempt.
"Are you trying to move away from me?" Nick taunted. "Cause rule number 4 says you can't escaaaape!"
"NICK NOHOHOHO!"
With his hands latched onto Charlie's ribs, Nick could play a tickly piano of laughter. The pads of his fingertips were perfectly suited for tapping each individual bone, and his short smooth fingernails gave little electric sparks each time they swiped over Charlies skin.
"Aw Charlie, how can one person be so ticklish!" Nick beamed, hands raising in readiness for his next attack.
"Nihihick plehehease!"
"Nuh uh uh, you broke two of my rules! You gotta get double tickles!"
As his hands shot to his next target, Charlie somehow managed to catch them in an awkward hand-hold. Nick was taken aback momentarily, but soon split into a wide grin.
"Rule number 5 Char..." Nick drawled, "No blocking the tickles."
"NO NICK NICK NICK PLEHEHAHAHAHA-!" Charlie's begging was broken up by three cheeky fingers diving into his armpits.
"You really aren't doing great with my game Char." Nick sighed, massaging just above Charlie's ribs. "Do you not like it or something?"
"OH MY GOHOHOHOD!" Charlie squealed, wrapping his arms around himself to try and squeeze the sensations away. "NOHOHOHO!"
"No?!" Nick gasped, before grinning and tickling the poor lad even harder. "You don't like it?!"
"NIHIHICK THAT'S NOHOHOT WHAT I SAHAHAID!" Charlie squealed, trying to wriggle free and momentarily succeeding before succumbing to the tickles.
"No getting away Char! Rule threeeee!" Nick beamed cheekily. "You really need to learn the rules!
"WHAT AHAHARE THE RUHUHUHULES?!"
"Ah, rule number 1 can't ask what they are!"
"NOHOHOHO!"
Poor Charlie just couldn't catch a break. Couldn't catch his breath either to be honest, the tickles just kept coming. Whether it was fingers on his sides, thumbs in his hips or even Nick's lips kissing into his neck, it just wouldn't stop. And although Charlie was stubbornly competitive, even he had a breaking point.
"I GIHIHIVE UHUHUP YOU WIHIHIN!" Charlie gasped between squeaks, really starting to run low on oxygen. Thankfully he was too giggle-drunk to care.
"Ah you can't give up! The game doesn't stop until you win!" Nick laughed, scratching his fingers along the sides of Charlie's neck. "We watched Jumanji together! Surely you weren't hiding behind me the WHOLE movie?"
Charlie blushed, it wasn't his fault he jumps at every scare in movies! And Jumanji was a particularly creepy one. To save himself what little dignity he had left, he brought his hands up over his scarlet cheeks.
"Ah ah ah! No covering that adorable face of yours!" Nick dragged the giggly boy's hands away. "It's in my rules." He smirked before attacking Charlie's thighs with rapid, ruthless squeezes.
"NIHIHICK!" Charlie thrashed sideways, pulling the blanket half-over himself in the process.
"And no hiding under the blankets! That's in the rulebook too!"
Nick gave him a brief spider up the tummy before sitting back and letting Charlie breathe. While the game was fun, Nick didn't want to absolutely kill his poor boyfriend.
The room was cloaked in silence for a few seconds, broken only by Charlie's giggle-infused huffs of air. That was, until, Charlie's phone buzzed.
He didn't get the chance to even register what had happened before Nick took his moment.
"No text messages during the game Charlie, that's rule... 10..." Nick trailed off, slightly losing track of counting with the number of times Charlie had 'broken' the very real rules.
"But thahahat's a stupid rule!" Charlie grumbled playfully, wondering whether or not he should try to run before Nick's next attack.
He decided on something much better.
"Rule 2! No insulting my rul-" Nick began, before he let out a yelp of surprise, laughing squeakily as Charlie prodded into his stomach a few times. This revenge didn't last long before Charlie felt a squeeze at his hip bones and practically flipped over in the air, giving Nick the much-needed opportunity to recover.
"You can't tickle the rule master!" Nick reprimanded, arms fighting to pin Charlie down before continuing. "That gives extra punishment!"
"NO NICK WAHAHAIT!"
In a last-ditch effort to stop his boyfriend from murdering him, Charlie launched upwards and pressed his lips to Nicks. Finally, the tickly hands stilled and cupped Charlie's back to pull him closer.
Nick smiled as Charlie pulled away. "You win."
"What?" Charlie laughed softly, a hint of playful annoyance dripping through.
"You win my game."
Charlie scoffed jokingly, "All I had to do was kiss you??"
Nick grinned. "Yup. And now you get your reward."
"My reward?" Charlie's head tilted sideways in confusion.
Nick said nothing, but plunged his hands back into Charlie's armpits. There was no way to escape, Nick was completely squishing him into the mattress with no hope of relief. Charlie's arms pushing into his sides were his own undoing, as it would be impossible for Nick to remove his hands from his armpits.
Not that he wanted to.
"YOHOHOU ARE SOHOHO MEHEHEAN!" Charlie squealed, violently wiggling in his boyfriend's lovingly iron grip. "THAHAT WAS SOHOHO UNFAHAHAIR!"
"I know." Nick grinned. "Isn't it great?"
Yep, there was nothing Nick loved more than teasing his boyfriend. And to be honest, Charlie loved it too.

Heartstopper TK Scenario
Me and @whonnie-tks are obsessed with this so this is a snippet of my headcanons from our chat
Warnings: light angst and cute tickle fluff
Tumblr media
I feel like throughout the series it’s a theme Charlie has a really hard time trusting people, and that’s why he has such a small friend Circle, when he meets Nick he doesn’t completely trust him at first especially because of what he goes through with Ben
But Nick is always very careful when he hangs around Charlie, and he’s never like rough with him, like always playful and caring, even before they started dating. Even though Charlie doesn’t usually display or receive affection through touch, the way that Nick touches him and is aware of him is one of his favorite things about the rugby lad. So, when they start becoming more affectionate in their relationship, Charlie feels himself craving touch from Nick for the first time and it makes him happy because Nick obviously loves to give it to him, make him feel validated because Ben never wanted to do that sort of thing and he feels like Nick really cares about him
so tk stuff now hehe
Slight spoilers for people who haven’t read the comics but nothing major!!!!
So Nick doesn’t have the greatest relationship with tickles because his brother always pushed him around and basically like he never really had fun when being tickled because it reminded him of his brother and his brother is an asshole
Charlie on the other hand loves it because its a great way to bond with his siblings and they have regular tickle fights (which is canon in the comics!)
So one day when Char is sitting in Nicks lap, they’re both relaxing and Charlie is like playing on his switch or smth while Nick is watching him and just idly tracing little shapes into his sides
Charlie hadn’t mentioned the little detail that he was ticklish to Nick yet and he knew that he would exploit it as soon as he found out, like any boyfriend would
So he’s just fighting the boss with frantic button clicking as he’s trying not to laugh and melt into Nicks hand at the same time
But as soon as Nick reaches the spot where his side meets his tummy he just can’t anymore and squirms into Nick with a little laugh but Nick is all like “Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t realize you were ticklish” and just like puts his hands to the sides so Charlie can readjust
But Char is confused so he just goes back to playing his game. But Nick has now gone stiff and he is not holding Charlie anymore, there are no hands petting his hair or rubbing down his sides and this is a problem
So he just looks up at Nick and goes “you know you can touch me, right? I’m not going to break” and moves his hands back to his sides, snuggling back up, and Nick thinks this is the absolute cutest thing ever
From there Nick’s brain turns back on and he slips into gentle traces again just because he doesn’t think of it, and cue Charlie with these soft squeaks and hums when he reaches a sensitive spot, and again, Nick pulls away
And now Charlie is really confused and he straight up like turns around and looks at Nick, “You know you can tickle me right? It’s basically the boyfriend right of passage” (its totally not like he wanted Nick to do it or anything) but Nick is just like “wait, really?????”
Cause he’s like genuinely surprised because he didn’t want to make Charlie uncomfortable but here he is with a little pout literally asking for it
“Well, I definitely have to try this” and he just tackles Charlie back onto the floor and just gives him the most gentle of tickles, even though Nick has probably destroyed Charlie in rugby multiple times, this is where he decides to be gentle
And Charlie loves him for it
As for Nick, I feel like he would not be comfortable with anyone else doing it to him except Charlie, because Charlie can read him the best and he knows when to stop, but when its with him i feel like he feels comfortable and like he doesn’t have to put up a front about being strong, he can just laugh and be silly with his best friend you know
Anyway these two have my heart and I love this show so if anyone has any ideas or stuff please spam me with it

I just finished HTTYD beadcannons and now I have a concept about Heartstopper
Charlie stealing Nicks pen for homework and refusing to give it back, and Nick gets "mad" because of this (he just wants a reason to tickle Charlie) so he chases Charlie through the neighbourhood, trying to get his pen back (and tickle Charlie).
He threatens to do it in the middle of the neighbourhood so Charlie will give him his pen back, and Charlie somehow quickly turns around and runs past Nick, and running into his house, slamming his door behind him and running to his room. His room door doesn't have a lock on it so he just closed it, regretting the fact that he didn't lock the front door, and before he knew it, Nick just appeared and tackled him on the bed, tickling him until Charlie gives him his pen back.

Cheater, Cheater
Tumblr media
“Agh! Charlie, quit it!”
Charlie giggled, withdrawing his hand from Nick’s side. The two boys were currently in the Spring family’s living room, having been sprawled out on the floor with their text books in front of them. This was their near-daily routine; coming back to one of their houses and trying to knock out some of their homework from their day at school, and then spending the rest of their time together watching movies, playing games, and most importantly, making out. Though most times, that plan didn’t go the way it was intended. Nick was easily distracted, and very quickly lost interest in whatever worksheet he was doing. So in order to entertain himself, he’d try to distract Charlie, whether it be laying across his boyfriend’s lap, or whining, or throwing his pens at his head.
Charlie had to bite back a grin when he heard Nick let out a groan, slamming his maths textbook closed. “Charlieeee,” he’d whimpered, pushing his book to the side, “I’m bored.”
“That’s a shocker,” Charlie had replied, chuckling and keeping his eyes trained on his own assignment.
“Come on,” Nick moaned, “let’s take a break. We’ve been working on maths for like an hour now. You especially don’t need to study maths longer than that.”
“Nick, I have a test at the end of the week.” Charlie reminded him, finally glancing up at the older boy.
“And you’re going to ace it! You always have the highest grade out of anyone, and you don’t even need to try!” Nick retorted, moving closer to his boyfriend. When Charlie ignored him, he pouted and rested his head on his shoulder.
“Please, Char? Just for a little bit?”
Charlie contemplated this for a moment, before finally letting out a long yet playful sigh. “Fine. What do you want to do?”
Nick raised his head, smiling brightly. “We should play a game.”
“What game? Mario Kart? Haven’t you learned by now that there’s no way you’ll ever beat me at that?” The younger boy teased, laughing at the incredulous expression on his boyfriend’s face.
“Excuse you, but I happen to remember winning three races last weekend when I was over!”
“Only because I let you win.”
The ginger’s eyes narrowed. “You’re so gonna pay for that later. And anyways, no, not that. I had another game in mind.”
Charlie tilted his head at him, confusion washing over his features. “What game?”
Nick smirked. “Only a game I can finally be the best at. Twister.”
“Twister?” Charlie repeated, raising his eyebrows in surprise. “Why do you wanna play that?”
“Why don’t you want to play?” Nick questioned playfully, “Afraid of losing?”
“No,” Charlie responded, “I’m great at it. You’ve just never brought it up before.”
Charlie was lying. He wasn’t good at Twister. Not only did he lack flexibility, but he had always been the first one to fall during the game when he’d played with his sister or his friends during their annual sleepovers. It wasn’t like he cared that much about the game itself; Charlie was competitive. He didn’t like to lose. That’s why his go-to game had always been Mario Kart. After years of mastering every course, hardly anyone could beat him, except occasionally Tori. But even then, the two siblings were always neck and neck.
“Okay.” Charlie nodded, setting his assignment and books aside. “Let’s play.”
And that’s were the pair were now, having pushed the coffee table to the side of the room in order to have the desired amount of space for the dotted mat. They’d spun a few times already, their positions starting out pretty easy to achieve, until Charlie suddenly had an arm underneath Nick’s body and Nick had under the younger boy’s. By each turn, they were intertwining themselves with each other even more, and Charlie’s balance was getting rather rocky. Nick, however, seemed to be completely stable, hardly ever having to readjust his footing or the placement of his hands to make things easier for himself.
With every spin of the plastic wheel, Charlie seemed to be getting more difficult adjustments to his position, while Nick barely had to move. It just wasn’t fair. Charlie knew his boyfriend was going to win.
“Doing alright, love?” Nick asked periodically, a teasing hint to his tone. “Not feeling too shaky?”
“Perfectly fine,” Charlie answered him through his teeth, choosing to ignore the chuckle that came from the boy above him.
After a few more minutes, Charlie decided he needed to do something to try and get an advantage over his smug boyfriend. And that’s when he reached up with one hand and jabbed him in the stomach.
Nick had flinched, drawing in a small breath, but remaining in the same position as before.
“Charlie,” He said, his voice low, “don’t.”
Charlie snickered, dropping his hand.
After another moment, he reached up again, now squeezing his hip.
Nick yelped, nearly losing his balance, but quickly regaining his composure. “Shit!”
Charlie grinned up at him innocently, trying not to laugh at the glare Nick sent him in return. This was working well for him.
“Charlie, I am warning you,” Nick tried again to be serious, his eyes locked on the boys hands. “Stop cheating!”
“Okay.” Charlie shrugged and reached for the spinner, feeling Nick’s eyes watching his every move.
Nick let out a breath, urging his muscles to relax as much as possible. Hopefully Charlie finally got the message.
He was wrong.
About three minutes later, Charlie was prodding at his side, causing the older boy to let out a shriek in surprise. And to Charlie’s delight, this caused Nick to topple over onto his back.
“Ha!” Charlie pumped his fists into the air victoriously, “I win!”
Nick stared up at his boyfriend, his eyes going wide. “You did not win.”
“Uh, yeah I did,” Charlie said smugly, “The rules are the first person who falls loses. You fell first, loser.”
Nick sat up quickly. “You were cheating!”
“Really? Was I?”
“Yes you were, you were tickling me!”
“Oh boo-hoo,” Charlie playfully rolled his eyes. “You’re just mad cuz you’re a sore loser.”
Nick didn’t answer, his eyes narrowing. Charlie’s smug attitude faltered, his smile fading, and immediately he began to feel as though his boyfriend was angry at him. “Nick, are you okay? I’m sorry, I was just joking… you’re not mad, are you?”
“Mad? No.” Something changed in Nick’s expression, his eyes glinting dangerously. “Vengeful? Very.”
Charlie didn’t even have time to respond, because Nick was launching himself at the boy with inhuman speed, tackling him and sending them rolling on the ground together. Charlie’s immediate instinct was to try and curl in on himself, knowing very well what was about to happen, but Nick was stronger, and easily pinned Charlie underneath him.
“Nick, wait a second,” Charlie tried to plead, attempting to squirm around underneath the rugby lad, but Nick’s hold on him was solid. Completely unmovable.
“Wait a second? Oh no. We’re not even going to think about waiting. I’m gonna tickle the absolute shit out of you, and I’m not gonna stop until I feel like it. I think that’s a proper punishment for someone who thinks cheating is the way to beat another person at a game, right?” Nick’s grin was pure evil as he watched Charlie blush bright red underneath him. “Not that you’d mind.”
“Niiiiick,” Charlie whined, bringing his hands up to cover his blazing cheeks, squealing suddenly at the sensation of Nick squeezing his sides.
“Ah ah! And you can’t hide your face from me, either! I wanna see your adorable smile.” Nick let his fingers slowly spider up and down the boy’s sides, relishing in the frantic giggles escaping his lips. God, he loved that sound.
“Nohoho! Thahat’s nohohot fahahair!” Charlie squeaked out, his giggles growing the higher Nick aimed. “Ihihi cahan’t help ihit!”
Nick chuckled. “Okay. Let me help you then.”
With that, he shot hands up under Charlie’s exposed armpits, drilling torturously into the hallows.
“NO NICK!” Charlie’s arms came flying down and clamped tightly to his sides, his head thrown back with hysteric laughter. “STOHOHOHOP!”
“Stop? Char, I’m only just getting started!” Nick laughed with the younger boy, his heart filled with endearment. “Besides, you deserve this, you dick!”
“I JUHUHUST WAHAHANTED TO WIHIN!”
“Well, cheaters don’t make winners, sweetheart.”
“I CAHAHAN SEHEHEHEE THAHAHAT!”
Nick rolled his eyes playfully. “How about this, Charlie? Just shut up and laugh.”
He pulled his hands out from under the boy’s arms, giving him only a few moments of relief before diving his fingers into his sensitive neck.
“NoO!” Charlie squealed, trying to duck his head, but Nick just laughed. “Charlie, my fingers are stuck now.”
“I dohohon’t cahahahare!” The younger giggled, yelping when he felt Nick beginning to press ticklish kisses along his ears. “Nihihick plehehease!”
“Man, your ears are sensitive as hell, Char.” Nick commented casually, “They seem so neglected. Why don’t you ever let me play with them and love them?”
“Stohohop ihihit!” Charlie whined, trying to move his head away from him, shrieking at the sensation of Nick nibbling on the shell of his ears. “OHOHOH MYHYHYHY GOHOHOD! NOHOHOT THAHAHAT!”
Mixed with the fluttering fingers in his neck and Nick’s merciless attack on his ears, Charlie was in hell (or heaven, though he’d never admit it). The two sensations combined were driving him nuts, and he was sure that Nick knew that. Of course he was.
Charlie’s head jerked to the side, lifting his chin just enough for Nick to remove his hands and let them jump to his ribs, his lips quickly beginning to press kisses along the entirety of Charlie’s neck.
“NOHOHO NIHIHICK! LEHEHEAVE MYHYHY NEHEHECK ALOHOHONE!”
“I don’t think you’re in a position to make demands here,” Nick muttered into the skin, making his laughter rise in pitch.
Charlie was quickly running out of oxygen by the second, and he wasn’t sure if Nick would actually give him a chance to breathe. Normally he was more gentle with him, but as he had said, he was out for revenge. Still, if Charlie wanted to see the sun rise the next morning, he needed to do something.
“NIHIHICK IHI CAHAN’T BREHEHEATHE! PLEHEHEASE!”
Nick drew his head back, his fingers slowing to a stop on the poor boy’s ribs. He looked guilty. “Oh god, okay. Here, just take a minute.”
Charlie was sucking in air like his life depended on it. Nick’s smirk vanished, “Sorry, was I taking it too far? I didn’t mean to-“
“Nick,” His boyfriend interrupted, breathing heavily, “it’s okay. I’m fine.”
“Are you sure?” Nick didn’t sound convinced, taking in Charlie’s current state with concern.
“I’m sure,” Charlie told him, then slightly propped himself up on his elbows, “You’re just way too good at getting what you want.”
That finally got a small chuckle out of the older boy, who leaned down and pressed his lips to his in a sweet kiss.
“You are so incredible,” Nick whispered, pressing his forehead to Charlie’s. Charlie hummed, his body finally beginning to calm down. They stayed like that for a moment, before Nick suddenly pushed him back down onto his back. “But there’s one more spot I want to get to before I let you go.”
Charlie’s eyes were nearly popping out of their sockets in realization. “No, Nihihick I thohohought youhou wehehere dohohone!”
Nick just smiled innocently at the boy as he let his fingers walk all the way down to his kneecaps, “I love you.”
And let it be known, Charlie definitely learned a valuable lesson on cheating that day, especially when getting caught by an evil, rugby loving golden retriever.

So thank you so so much!
Fandom: Heartstopper
Characters: Nick and Charlie
Word count: 428
Nick and Charlie sat on the cozy living room floor, surrounded by soft blankets and a scattering of pillows. The room was bathed in a warm, dim glow from the fairy lights hung on the walls. Their laughter filled the air as they engaged in a playful tickle fight, fingers dancing over each other's skin.
Nick was known for his ticklishness, but today, he had a mischievous glint in his eye, determined to claim victory. His nimble fingers explored Charlie's sides, evoking a chorus of giggles. "You're going down, Charlie!" Nick teased.
Charlie squirmed and laughed, retaliating with a tickle to Nick's ribs, causing the latter to squeal. It seemed like Nick was indeed winning for a few minutes, making Charlie beg for mercy between laughing fits.
But then, Charlie's crafty fingers found their way to Nick's most sensitive spot - his inner thighs. Nick's eyes widened, and he gasped as an intense wave of ticklishness surged through him. "N-No, Charlie, not th-EHEHHEHRE!" he pleaded, his face flushed with a mixture of embarrassment and uncontrollable laughter and ticklish screams.
Charlie just couldn't resist the opportunity to turn the tables. He continued to tickle Nick's inner thighs, eliciting a symphony of laughter and shrieks from his boyfriend.
'Aww you're so adorable when you're tickled.’ Charlie cooed as his boyfriend writhed underneath him trying to escape.
"CHAHAHHAHRLIEEE..PLEHEHEHEASE…I-ICA-ICAHAHANT TAHAHAKE IT' Nick begged through contagious cackles, tears forming in his eyes and a deep red blush growing across his face as Charlie showed no mercy and his teasing tone.
Charlie finally relented, letting Nick catch his breath. He grinned down at his flushed and disheveled boyfriend, who was still trying to recover from the relentless tickling. "Well, well, Nicholas Nelson. it seems I've finally discovered your weak spot," Charlie said with a mischievous twinkle in his eye.
Nick pouted, but a mischievous spark danced in his gaze. "Oh, you won't get away with that, Charlie." With a quick, nimble move, Nick tackled Charlie, flipping them over so that he was now straddling Charlie's waist. He looked down at Charlie with a sly grin. "Your turn."
Charlie laughed, realizing he had just walked into his own ticklish trap. Nick's fingers descended to Charlie's sides, making him writhe and giggle. The room echoed with their laughter as they continued to exchange ticklish revenge.
It turned into a playful, loving battle of laughter and affection, each trying to outdo the other in tickle-induced hilarity. Nick, no longer at a disadvantage, took full advantage of Charlie's ticklish spots, and Charlie, in turn, relished the opportunity to tickle his boyfriend.
As the evening wore on, they collapsed into a tangle of limbs, breathless and giggling.
They lay side by side, their fingers intertwined, basking in the warmth of their shared laughter.
In that moment, as they caught their breath and gazed into each other's eyes, Nick and Charlie knew they had created another cherished memory together. Their love was as boundless as their laughter, and they wouldn't have it any other way.
