A question for Astarian stans and deep divers because its bugging me.

TLDR: Tiktok user claims PC is SA'ing Astarion in first half of his romance arc and I am asking if I am missing something.

TW: mentions of player character allegedly commiting SA against Astarion.

Deeper context under the cut.

A few days ago i saw a tiktok vid about Astarions romance route that bothered me.

In this tiktok the user claimed that she never wants to do Astarions romance route because, according to her, you have to SA him in order to do it.

She implies that the fact he believes that he has to sleep with the PC in order for them to help him means that going along with his "simple plan" whether or not the PC would realistcaly know that's what he is doing is SA'ing him.

To me this doesnt make sense in the slightest.

From what i have played of the romance in question, it is clear to me that Astarion amd Astarion alone is the one even pursuing the relationship in the first place.

He is the one who intiates the first flirty dialogue in the game.

He is the one who activly seduces the player with flowery words and naughty sugestions.

He is the one activly offering himself up and giving the PC the choice whether or not to reciprocate.

And if your approval isnt high enough, he is the one who rejects you at the tiefling party.

The PC only gets to pick whether or not they let him succeed with his "simple plan" or not.

Far as i understand, SA occurs only when the assualter who often knows exactly what they are doing, forces themselves on the victim bu either literall force, coercion, or taking advantage of the victums vulnerabilit, I.E. being a minor, being mentsally disabled, used a drug etc.

And from what i have played, thier is only one point in the game that the above can happen and it is an option the player has to activly choose after Astarion tells the PC he doesnt want to have sex again until he figures out what he wants.

So, I ask, is there ant evidence to the above claim or is this user seeing something that isnt there?

Because i for one, can not see it.

In my opinion, from what I have seen at least, most Raph simps I've interacted with are like really sweet and anxious people that REALLY NEED A HUG just like my boy Raph.

The Leo simps, as I said earlier, enjoy bullying him so much- and with that I mean, they're most times the kind of people that tease or bully their crush, but they care so much about him and love adding so much depth to his character.

The Donnie simps I know can't drop the color purple for ONE DANG SECOND, the color is everywhere all the time all at once, they seem very curious and are some of the ones that I see the most active in the fandom.

And Mikey simps are freaking wild, one minute they're the sweetest and the next they're jumping around the walls and scaring you, I love those.

Thoughts on RvB Restoration Finale

not really that long just my 2 cents

I wanna say I liked the movie because I did enjoy myself watching it, but honestly I'm very much gonna stick to the RvB17 open ended finale

Overall the movie was... ok? It wasn't unwatchably bad the way RvB Zero was but it also just made a lot of choices that I disagree with fundamentally both with the writing and the core themes of the series as a whole. I've had this take ever since RvB14 on the fanbase and the writers but this movie flat out says it:

The writers are fucking unable to let go of PFL and Chorus in a meaningful way.

For a series thats core message is about saying goodbye, they literally dont let that part of the show die. They are functionally unable to let go of the past peaks of the franchise and write something new. And I get it: RvB fundamentally cycles with its storytelling, but what was so refreshing to me about RvB14-17 was that it actually progressed itself Past those peaks of RvB10 and 11-13 (and honestly people REALLY dont appreciate the good in those later seasons). It felt like a natural (if wacky) progression, and it definitely wasnt perfect but it gave the extended cast more opportunities to shine in ways we didnt appreciate before

This movie just doesnt do that? Honestly the fact that they KILLED Sarge and Doc was so... disrespectful to me? Like not in the sense that it was as bad as how RvB Zero (fake) killed Tucker, but more like it felt like the writers killed them off because they were following a book titled "How To Write Story" and saw 'killing off characters is good writing'. Sarge got a dramatic send off that also didnt feel that impactful? And I did see it coming from the start but having Doc be Washs' guilt haunting him just left a bad taste in my mouth.

Its a really self contained story, a whole bunch of characters outside the main 3 reds and Caboose felt ooc, a good chunk of characters dont even show up (dude where was DONUT??? youre telling me he only has 5 seconds in Simmons' mind in a cheerleading costume?), it was composed of like 3-4 sets total, Carolina, Tex and 479er all just kind of Show Up to be badasses in the way The New Person would show up in an MCU movie...

Honestly watching this movie I kind of felt like it would have a twist ending. Like the credits would play and then itd zoom out to show the Reds and Blues post S17 in a movie theater watching this dramatic finale, because thats honestly what it felt like: The whole movie was a cheap facsimile of RvB as a whole. The fact that Trocadero wasn't allowed/signed on to make the music for this finale really does influence this movie, since they used a whole bunch of songs and osts that felt out of place (though I will admit Vale Deah softly playing as Grimmons said goodbye to each other did make me choke up a little)

Despite my negative review, I do still recommend watching it, since there was stuff I did like: Simmons in a leader role, Tex and the fun reveal during her fight with Tucker-Meta, Grif FINALLY getting to retire, Caboose as a whole was really well written, there IS good in this movie! And again it's not unwatchable bad, it just... kind of leaves a somber, sour taste in my mouth. This movie threw a whole bunch of stuff to the wall not to see what would stick but to break it all and leave for the insurance money. Just a "hey since we're sinking might as well make all these callbacks and break a bunch of stuff along the way."

Welp. Goodbye, RvB. At least this way I know that RT dies without riding your coattails any longer. And hey given that RvB technically has 3 endings (RvB17, Zero and RvB19) you can just take your pick on what you like best anyways. Quick edit no jutsu I forgor to mention there is the sequence at the beginning of the movie where it is implied RvB19 COULD also be one of the simulations in and of itself so. yeah you can in fact just take it as you will

I know I’ve seen it somewhere before (most likely here on tumblr) but i AM obsessed with the idea of a muppets version of good omens where the human characters are all played by muppets and aziraphale and crowley are played by humans who are very clearly controlling muppet versions of themselves as their corporations but the muppets only ever directly address the muppet corporations. as far as they can see aziraphale and crowley are also only muppets

moreover I am EXTRA obsessed with the idea that aziraphale and crowley. also keep up the muppeteering when alone with each other. their muppets are their corporations how they interact with the earth and they interact with each other while within these corporations. but when you can literally see their true (human) forms looming over their dinky little flesh (felt) bodies it adds a new level of hilarity

I cant tell which would be funnier: if, when talking to each other, they looked each other dead in the eyes while making their muppets also look at each other, or if they ALSO pretended the other was only a muppet and utterly ignored their true human forms

that being said I think for the drunk scene they should be slugging back actual glasses of wine in one hand and just very sloppily controlling their muppet selves with the other. the muppets have little fake glasses of wine too obvi

with tracy aziraphale just takes over as her muppeteer she just sometimes moves and talks on her own. all the other angels and demons are just humans but when on earth the angels have muppets and the demons have really shitty hand puppets. they just stand there holding the muppets/puppets they dont make them move and act. aziraphale and crowley are thought to be very weird and creepy for doing so with theirs

the horsepersons…. I think they start with muppets only but you can see there’s sticks or wires or whatever controlling their limbs. and them when they start to come into their power suddenly they’re being controlled by a person. and when they go full Horsepersons Of The Apocalypse they’re fully human (in form). except for death. death is identical to tv canon bc he’s the one who hides his true nature the least. and he’s creepier that way

with adam? I think he’s just an uncomfortably human looking muppet. his face is more normally proportioned. his felt is a very human beigey tan. his hands are uncomfortably dextrous like the swedish chef’s. maybe when he comes into his powers he starts looking less and less like a muppet and more and more like a human until it culminates in something dead center in the uncanny valley for both humans and muppets. and then after he tells satan to fuck off he suddenly looks almost perfectly muppet normal with only a twinge of almost-human-y since he still has at least Some powers

in terms of the muppet casting I have no idea who should be whom jdjdbdkd maybe miss piggy for anathema and kermit for newt, mostly bc they’re arguably the main human (adult) characters and it’s funny to me to call a frog “newt”. however this version does not include the all-but-onscreen sex scene okay we do not need to see that. it fades to black just like in the book thank you ❤️

also to be clear all the angels and demons and in particular aziraphale and crowley are all still dressed like in canon. when their wings show up their human true form also has wings. crowley puts on sunglasses on his human self before digging out a tiny pair of muppet sized ones and putting it in his muppet hand to put on his muppet face. yknow. stuff like that

#i know his dramatics and revenge fantasy gets the best of him but for the joker it just. didn't make sense #'i want it to be long and painful like how he beat & killed me' can be something yea but?? to actually stop ? #have him fantasize and build up this idea of what itll be like to kill joker and then the toppling down as hes still just so traumatized #and hurt. have him realizing how it didnt magically fix everything while also being confident in his choice because that risk of another #kid being merciless beaten or killed is gone. that he killed a horrible person and the world is better because of it #just... he isnt the world. #he stopped potential harm for others he feels good in killing joker he believes it was the best thing to do and he did it #but? what do you do when that harm isnt potential? when it isnt a threat but instead a memory that you have to relive through with every #single breath that you aren't supposed to have in the first place? #you did what you surely must been brought back to life to do. but now youre alive and you're alone and you dont know what else to do. #then have his anger or betrayal feelings at bruce. have jason developing and discovering himself #not as robin. not as a vengeful ghost. not as anything. but as jason todd and how hes carving his own destiny and the universe doesnt know #how to handle that. let him go through grief and trauma and anger. let him be cunning and a bitch. let him have the biggest heart. #let him work his way through crime rings and solo work and be a drug lord and how he helps gotham directly and just have some growth that #isnt centered around the man that killed him and the man that failed him. #jason todd #the joker #red hood #c: red hood: the lost days | i: 6 #crypt's panels #lost days #covers

I love survival horror games. Especially when they have companions for me to get attached to and overprotective of.

#it has to be psychologicial horror #not like oo a scary thing is hunting me #no it has to be this dreadful never leaving sense that the place Im in is /wrong/ #it shouldnt exist and something is horribly off #Im trapped there and there is no apparent escape #only the desperate human need for survival #to find food and shelter no matter the form it takes #and to drag the others with me until we all get out #in one way or another #I will save them. #even if they are horrible they are still worth saving. #I'm sure my therapist would have a field day with this #but likely she wouldnt learn anything she doesnt already know :P #anyway I love foraging for mushrooms in s0ns of the f0rest and making little camps #I hope the game lets me gift my companions in the future #let me give them snacks :3 #sunny speaks #tw horror

#📗 my post #🧯 overhalliday (s/i) #yeah ummm yeahn . hey . theres a lot in here let me divulge in the tags #hes supposed to live in like a town thats pretty Scrunched In with buildings kind of surrounding the place so the debug building behind #is supposed to mimic the back alley area that he uses for all his scraps && parts. really id imagine at some point he put a tarp over it #so metal doesnt rust && whatnot . but theres not really a way to do that i think in the sims #the bathroom being right where the stairs are is both a) bc i wrote that in a fic b) sometimes houses are dumb okay we cant all win #there isnt an operating table apparently?? so im using a lounge chair as a stand in and honestly it works well #really if i wanted to i wouldve added like soo much more clutter because he is. not the most organized #ftr i think like every sims bed has a headboard and he DOES NOT have that hes got a bed frame and a mattress that is IT!!! #^ not every sims one . the ones that dont talks abt...bed bugs. which . ew #and for the record also i think his place is only unique in the sense that you walk in and theres a workshop . exterior wise theres #probably like a bunchhh that look the same as youre walking down . all scrunched together #i actually donthave a set place in mind that he lives i just know its like. a Town #a town that doesnt have a hardware store . so he takes a train if he ever needs supplies & it takes abt 10 minutes to get to the city #so hes not like. Cut Off per se but the locals definitely know his deal enough #idk looking at it and imagining a bunch side by side makes me think of likee. like. norway? <- my biases it was like the 2nd thing i google #it would be nice to live by a bunch of water #but also im . i dont know anything abt architecture this very easily could read as somewhere in america or something like that #idk but in my head it snows a lot there thats like all i have thought out
