Summary: Lando trying to take care of his pregnant wife and plan dinner with his in Laws turns into a teasing session for Max.
Author’s Note: Hi there! This is a lil snippet from my F1 DR that my best friend ( @shellybee456 ) and I wrote about our OC’s after they get married. Both girls are racers in the grid and are sisters.
~Elena Camille Jimenez~
Elena is Emilie’s older sister, she has been racing since 2018 with Mercedes, took a break from 23-25 to be Emilie’s Race engineer for Redbull then joins Ferrari in 2026. Elena was born Feb. 7th, 1997, she is the same age as Max and Charles and raced in karting with them. She is Spanish and Monegasque.
~Emilié Rosalie Auclair~
Emilie is Elena’s younger sister, she started racing in 2022 with Redbull taking over Checo’s seat. She races with them until 2025 then races with Andretti in 2026. She wins the 24, 25, and 26 WDCs. She takes a break in 2027 when she gets pregnant with Lando. Emilie was born on Sept. 3rd, 1999. Emilie is just Monegasque because the girls have different dads.

April 2027
Melbourne, Australia
"Émmie?" Lando called out as he entered their hotel room, only to be answered with silence.
A bit surprising considering Gearbox usually greeted him at the door irregardless of what Émilie was doing.
A quick search found Émilie curled up in on the couch fast asleep, Gearbox only lifting her head to receive a few head scratches.
The days of constant travel and lack of caffeine had finally taken its toll, leaving her utterly exhausted, enough so that she'd finally admitted defeat that morning and stayed at the hotel to nap, letting him go to the track and media day by himself for the first time since the season had started.
Clearly, Gearbox had picked up on it too if the Australian shepherd hadn't even gotten up to greet him.
He watched her for a few moments, unable to stop the way that a small smile crept across his face. Émilie was always pretty, but she looked truly beautiful asleep like this, features relaxed and the evening sun casting her in a golden hue.
She was wearing one of his McLaren hoodies, her hair tied up in a now loose bun with the blanket pulled up to her shoulder.
Lando moved closer and knelt down, placing a light kiss on her hair.
She made a little noise and burrowed further into the bedding, hiding from the cool air of the room.
He couldn't help but chuckle as he rose to his feet, Gearbox hopping off the couch, following him into the bedroom to change out of his team kit and into comfier lounge clothes.
While in the bedroom he texted Elena and Max, letting them know that Émilie was sleeping and that he'd ask about dinner later. Gearbox rested her chin on his knee.
It was silly really, but sometimes he couldn't believe he was in a relationship with Émilie. Like a genuinely real one, not the stupid friends-with-benefits-ignoring-their-feelings thing they had going for so many years. Not just that, but they were actually married. And Émilie was pregnant with their baby, a little girl.
It made him giddy still, just thinking about it. They'd have a baby by summer break and less then 2 years ago they weren't even talking to each other anymore.
He checked on her again once he'd changed, still finding her asleep.
Lando hummed to himself and moved into the small kitchenette, picking an apple and peanut butter from the counter with the intention to cut it up and eat it. Once she awoke he'd ask about dinner.
Halfway through he considered the fact that she probably hadn't eaten in a while, so he grabbed another apple to cut up for her.
Halfway through the second apple(the first still wasn't finished) he cut his finger, which meant a trip back to their room to dig through Émilie's bag to find her first aid kit for a plaster.
Once he'd cleaned and covered his cut, Lando returned to the kitchenette and cleaned up the blood before returning to his task of preparing a snack for them.
While he continued his task, arms wrapped themselves around his torso and a weight was rested between his shoulder blades.
He couldn't stop himself from grinning, "Hi princess." He was rewarded with a noise more like a bear then his wife.
Continuing his task, Lando finished cutting up the apples, shuffling a bit in her arms to grab two bowls, placing the apple slices and a spoonful of peanut butter in separate bowls.
Once everything was finished, he turned in Émilie's arms, cradling her face in his hands to give her a soft kiss before grinning at her.
"Hi."
"Why do you have a plaster on?" Emilie yawns out cutely when she notices it on the Brit’s finger.
He grimaced and showed her his finger, which made her wrinkle her nose. "I promise i didn't get anything on the apples, plus i cleaned the knife before continuing."
She sighs and tucks her head under his chin. "What am i going to do with you?" He shrugged, "I'd say marry me but you already did that."
She snorted and pulled back to give him another kiss before letting go and grabbing the apples. "Come on."
He followed after her, arching a brow when he realized she was not just wearing his hoodie but also a pair of his sweatpants.
"Are those mine?"
She paused and looked down, making a face when she looked up, "I need to buy new clothes."
He sat down and winced on her behalf before pulling her down into his lap. Lando peppered her in slobbery kisses, his arms wrapped around her waist keeping her from attempting to run away from him. "I like you in my clothes."
He grinned at her, when she gave him an unimpressed look, setting the apple bowls on the side table and wrapped her arms around his neck placing her own kisses on his cheek, "you're a menace."
He opened his mouth to say something but then his stomach growled, interrupting the moment.
She laughed at him before reaching over and grabbing an apple slice that she fed to him.
"I was supposed to ask you what you wanted for dinner." He explained once he swallowed.
She hummed and offered him a shrug, "There's an Italian place nearby that Oscar and Logan like that I've wanted to try, we could order that."
He nodded and grabbed her phone off the side table and handed it to her, "Use my card."
"I made more than you last year." She mumbled, looking up from the restaurants website on her phone.
"But yet that hasn't stopped you from requesting my card in the past."
She made a noise of indignation and smacked his chest, both of them laughing.
Their phones buzzed and Émilie looked at the message, muttering under her breath in French. Lando placed his chin on her shoulder and read the message, snorting.
Elena: do you want us to pick up dinner and bring it over since Em is sleeping?
Elena: and pregnant... 🤭
Émilie: fuck you too Lena.
Elena: oh you're awake.
Elena: what do you want for dinner?
Émilie: I want chicken parm and Lando wants chicken Alfredo.
"I do?" Lando remarked raising his eyebrow at his wife.
The smartass remark earned him an elbow to the ribs.
Émilie: and Mia wants fucking Tuna.
Max: are you sure Lando will still want to kiss you if eat fish?
Elena: The real question is, are you sure he's gonna want to keep the kid if she's a fish eater?
"She's got a point." Lando murmured, "I don't know if I can accept our baby if she eats fish."
Émilie groaned, "I hate you all."
He laughed, pressing a kiss to her neck. "My parents would kill me if I they didn't get to meet their newest grandchild. You know how they are with Mila and Athena.”
She sighed and looked back at the chat.
Émilie: he doesn't get a choice if he wants to keep up with his family, his parents would disown him and keep me and Mia.
Lando huffed indignantly, nipping her ear before grabbing his own phone, "behave Émmie."
Lando: Slander and lies, don't believe a word she says.
Max: Unfortunately, the only lies I see here are yours, buddy.
Elena: do the lies include her dinner order?
Émilie: I'm going to kill all 3 of you if my fucking Italian isn't here when you 2 shit heads get here.
Lando gasped, placing a hand on his chest in mock offense. "Wow and from my own wife."
Émilie huffed and set her phone down, ignoring whatever his sister-in-law retaliated with.
"If they don't bring my food-"
"Our food-"
"I am going to strangle her and leave Max a widower and Ferrari without their second driver." She pressed on, completely ignoring his correction.
"Violent."
She huffed, "you should have married someone else if you wanted a passive wife."
She paused a moment before patting his bicep, "now tell me about the day while we wait."
An hour later there was a knock at the day, and Émile shifted off Lando's lap so he could answer.
"We have your food!" Max called as he an Elena entered the hotel room. "Please don't hurt us."
Émilie rose to her feet and joined them all in the kitchen, eyeing the grocery bag on the counter with contempt before hugging her sister and brother-in-law.
"I'll decide what to do with you after I eat."
They ended up spreading out in the living room, Elena and Émilie on the couch while the boys pulled chairs in from the dining room.
"So, what's the latest gossip in the paddock?" Émilie asked once they'd all settled.
"Rumor has it Charles isn't driving for Ferrari next year." Elena said, making both Émilie and Elena stare at her.
"No way." Émilie gasped, not seeming to care about the food she flicked onto the floor when she leaned forward. "He's been with them forever!"
Gearbox happily cleaned it up.
Elena nodded, "I know! When I was in contract talks with legal they didn't mention him like they normally did. And when I asked about him they side stepped my question."
She paused and watched Gearbox, "they also asked who else I'd like to drive with if given the opportunity."
Lando tilted his head, "who'd you say?"
"Freddy."
Émmie smiled, clearly happy with that statement. Lando couldn't help himself from also smiling.
She was so pretty when she smiled like that, cheeks dusted pink in happiness.
"You know seeing you both so helplessly in love with each other now makes all those years of listening to Lando pine worth it." Max grumbled, distracting Lando's train of thought.
"Hey-"
Elena scoffed and ignored Lando, "if you thought he was bad you can not imagine what Émilie was-"
"I literally have so much dirt on the both of you," Émilie interrupted. She pointed her fork at Elena, "I'm your sister," she pointed the fork at Max, "and I was your teammate. I suffered the most."
Max turned a bit red, "I wasn't that bad." Lando snorted, "yes you were. Especially after she started dating Oscar." Émilie huffed, "that was bad, and I was getting an earful from Logan about it too."
Max was bright red at this point, pointedly not looking at his wife. "Ok so maybe-"
"There were so many times we were on the phone together and Max would just waltz into your drivers room and start complaining." Lando talked right over Max, not caring that his brother-in-law was trying to talk. "It was good gossip."
"All I wanted was a few minutes of peace with my fiancé and instead I got to play therapist to my ex-boyfriend." Émilie grumbled, pulling a pillow into her lap. "While on the phone with my fiancé!"
Elena was doubled over laughing now, "oh my god you were such a dork! I can't believe you went to my sister of all people about your feelings."
"And Charles." Max mumbled, scratching the back of his neck in embarrassment, "and Danny. Lando too I guess."
"Awe that's so sweet, you were such a lovesick dork." Elena giggled, wrapping her arms around Max's neck, then kissing his cheek. Max turned his head to kiss his wife fully. Knowing that he was helplessly in love with her and even if they would tease him forever at least he had her to himself now.
Gearbox whined and attempted to shove her nose between them, making everyone laugh.
“Well I guess that’s our queue, let’s go eat dinner.” Elena chuckled as she pulled away from Max to go get dinner ready. She could already tell it was going to be a great night.

could you explain the mclaren reputation era please I missed it
ok well i don't really understand it entirely so bear with me here as i fumble through this.
essentially yesterday mclaren archived (deleted?) every single one of their instagram posts (and there were Thousands) except for this kind of twist trap esque video of lando, oscar and their car with the tagline "whatever it takes" like the imagine dragons song, or perhaps a 15 year old boy posting selfies of himself in the gym.
this of course is exactly what taylor swift did however many years ago right before she dropped her reputation album, archived every single one of her instagram posts except for these three videos of a snake slithering around and i don't remember what the words were associated with it but it was foreshadowing her reputation album. this was the album that she released directly after she got a whole lot of shit for her 1989 tour, took basically 2 years off and came back with some s tier bangers about how basically she didnt really care what the media thought of her, but she was reinventing herself (remember the "im sorry, the old taylor can't come to the phone right now, why? oh! cause she's dead!" meme" but essentially, it was her comeback after awhile away.
mclaren, as we know, has not won a championship since 2008 with sir lewis hamilton. their driver line up, lando norris and oscar piastri, is the youngest pairing of drivers on the grid (lando is 24, oscar is 22) and while the 2023 season for them started off absolutely terribly (their car fucking sucked) they were able to do some major upgrades throughout the season and turned it around by the silverstone race (just under halfway through the year). from silverstone on (13 races total) mclaren finished in the top 3 nine times (with both oscar and lando on the podium at the qatar and japan races) and were consistently in the points. oscar also won the sprint race in qatar. and lando had i think 17 overtakes at the mexico race, starting 19 and ending 5th. which is kind of incredible. in a season of absolute red bull domination (lets remember that a red bull driver won ever race except for the singapore race, which carlos won with the help of lando) they were consistently challenging them and there was one time in texas (i think?) where lando almost was able to overtake max.
so yes, red bull is definitely the favored team at the moment and is coming off of quite possibly the best season they've ever had. however. mclaren have some distinct advantages going into the 2024 season:
they do not have to worry about silly season. as we know, 14 drivers have contracts ending at the end of 2024 which means the absolute mad rush to resign and offer contracts across basically every team. redbull is basically guaranteed to not resign checo and might even swap him for daniel ricciardo halfway through the season whereas lands contract with mclaren ends in 2025 and oscars ends in 2026. mclaren can spend all of their time worrying about the car and the drivers rather than who they are signing.
oscar piastri. oscar just finished his rookie season (and previously won the f2 and f3 championships and won rookie of the year this year). in terms of rookie years he had an outstanding one. people compared him to lewis hamilton's rookie year. as a refresher, lewis hamiltons rookie year was in 2007 (also at mclaren) and he won his first championship in 2008. oscar is the first rookie since lewis hamilton to get multiple podiums and win something in his rookie year. expectations are running high here.
lando norris's expiring contract. as we know lando has one more confirmed year with mclaren. cel of mclaren zak brown has announced that they want to extend landos contract with mclaren, but, hes starting to get really really good, which means that a top team like red bull or mercedes might also try to get him as a driver. this is the year for mclaren to prove to lando that they can give him what he wants (which is to win a race. in his 5 years of formula 1 he hasn't won anything. and once he starts winning then hes going to want to win a championship. but. there is max verstappen to contend with). so their absolute balls to the wall tactic could work pretty well for them here. pre season testing doesnt start for over another month and they are already clearly locked in to the 2024 season.
lando and oscar actually get along. sure, formula 1 is an individual sport, but there is the drivers championship (for the individual driver) and the constructors championship (for the team with the most points). so they do have to work together. drivers not working together in the past has led to some ... undesirable results for teams (the great brocedes civil war of nico rosberg and lewis hamilton that ultimately resulted in nico retiring after he won his first championship, whatever the hell was going with max and daniel for part of the 2018 season, the french civil war at alpine between pierre gasley and esteban ocon) they are also both very consistent drivers. neither are incredibly crash prone and seem quite willing to work together on the track to optimize results.
yes they do also have disadvantages. lando has never won a race, they only have one pole position between them (lando in russia in 2021) and they're not a red bull. clearly they're the underdog in the situation. but they did finish fourth in the constructors championship in 2023 ("best of the rest") (and after basically getting next to no points for the first several races on account of the fact that their car was shit) behind ferrari, mercedes, and red bull. they're coming for the top 3 and honestly it could be their season to lose.
if ferrari doesnt change their strategy approach then they could be out of a shot at top 3. also ferrari have to deal with the nightmare of resigning both of their drivers (or finding new ones). merc and red bull will both be giving it their all (lewis hamilton really really wants to win his 8th world championship before he retires and max is well. max.) but if mclaren has a competitive car from the start of the season and doesnt have to play catch up for the first several races, then they could easily finish in the top 3.
also they released their livery today? which really confuses me (is that different than the car unveiling? what is going on someone mansplain it to me please)

[ETA: This was written January 2024 before LH’s signing]
I really, really hope the rumors that Carlos might have only a short-term contract extension (i.e. until the end of 2025) are true. That may be a blow to his pride, and I feel for him deeply, but breaking away from Ferrari by 2026 would be the absolute best thing for him.
If you don’t know, Carlos and Charles are both currently contracted to Ferrari until the end of 2024, and both are now currently in talks for extensions. According to La Gazetta (grain of salt required), Charles is taking a five year extension to 2029 (whyyyy Charles? why do that to yourself?). Meanwhile, Carlos has asked for a 2-year extension, but Ferrari reportedly only want to offer him 1 year for now. Carlos potentially becoming a free agent for 2026 is very significant because that's the start of the next regulations era in F1; a new formula and new rules come into play, ushering in new engines and new cars and opening up the field for new contenders. It’s also when Audi will be stepping onto the grid as they take over at Sauber (currently Alfa Romeo). Importantly, Audi have been long-rumored to be interested in Carlos as the driver they want to sign and build their new team around.
I'm not going to delve into how much Ferrari has treated Carlos like shit, because we all know that story, and none of us are actually surprised to see the team undervalue the man who keeps them afloat when all else fails and gives them their only win in a season. I don't think Ferrari ever expected Carlos to be so competitive and push il Predestinado the way he has, and now it's bit awkward for them. But the fact is that Ferrari have now gone all in on Charles with this 5-year deal, and now they have no choice but to make every other decision around that. It makes sense that they would offer just a 1-year extension if Carlos is asking for 2 years because they know a 2-year contract would be no more meaningful than a 1-year if other teams are seriously interested in Carlos. If Audi (or McLaren, if Lando leaves) really want to get Carlos for 2026, they will have no qualms about swooping in during the 2025 silly season to buy Ferrari out of Carlos’s last contract year. They know what they have with Carlos even if they aren't going to publicly recognize it, so it's in Ferrari’s best interest to keep their options open for shopping if they don’t want to risk being caught out dry in 2026.
But let’s forget all that and talk about the most interesting part of all this to me: that Carlos asked for something as short as a 2-year extension. He knows Charles is getting 5 years, so why?
This tells me that Carlos has finally begun to lose faith that Ferrari is the best place for him. That’s a pretty damn big deal, because—although this gets overshadowed by Charles’s love story with the Scuderia—Carlos’s passion for Ferrari and the Tifosi is no small thing. I think he smiled bigger on the third step of the podium at Monza than he did at Silverstone for his maiden win. Winning a WDC with Ferrari is (or was) his life’s dream.
But maybe 2023–his best year ever—is what Carlos needed to stop ignoring the writings on the wall. Maybe he’s starting to admit to himself that he’s never going to get the support (or competence) he needs from Ferrari to achieve his dreams. Maybe he's understanding that he's found success not because of Ferrari, but in spite of them.
Carlos is too good to be a No. 2 driver. We know it, Ferrari definitely knows it (and that’s their problem), and—most importantly—Carlos knows it. Ferrari can go ahead and search for someone this talented who's also willing to roll over and be their next Rubens Barrichello. Because it sure as hell won’t be Carlos Sainz, Jr.

I’m currently going down a social media rabbit hole, trying to see the difference between both Carlos’ and Charles’ , because let’s be real, after a few posts, you could see the difference and the narratives they both are going for.
Carlos is going for the “I’m loyal to Ferrari” Narrative, with him sticking to the red and the Ferrari merch in training, in Dakkar when he was supporting his dad (who by the way, is a RED BULL Rally Driver to this day!!). He is going for Charles’ approach last year, where everything in his socials is Ferrari, is curated and is very much according to the Ferrari politics and how they post.
Then there’s Charles, who is going for the silly, relaxed and relatable approach in his socials, and as mentioned a lot by you, he’s kind of working on detaching himself from the Ferrari narrative and the whole “Charles Leclerc the Ferrari driver”.
In a way, they are each working on their agendas, Charles could be working towards that exit or towards pressuring Ferrari that “Right, I’m starting to detach myself from you, and if you don’t wake up, I’m out next year, and I have teams who would definitely take me in” and Carlos who is showing Ferrari “I’m your man, I’m loyal, I’m not complaining, I’m doing what you want, content with your sponsors? Check. Always repping Ferrari even when I’m rooting for Red Bull in Rally which you guys aren’t a part of? Check. Looking the way you want me to be in my socials, that pristine Ferrari F1 driver? Check”. As if he’s trying to convince them to give him the contract and to put their trust in him, make him their number 1.
And let’s be real, with everything going in with contracts and the politics of it, with Fred who wanted the contracts to be signed and announced BY CHRISTMAS OR THE NEW YEAR, and now we’re almost done with January, the narrative both drivers are putting out through their socials, with both of them knowing its power and how to use it properly, I would say that Ferrari is most likely in a dilemma that no team would want rn
yeah! tbh, carlos never really went the extra mile for any other side quests on social aside from racing (the netflix cup event the only recent one that comes to mind.)
the way charles and carlos approach social media is wildly different. but you're right, the way they present themselves definitely reflects the current state of their negotiations with ferrari.
carlos - presents himself only as a ferrari driver on social media. there were news that his contract negotiations faced new obstacles again this week, and his dad again complimented the upcoming audi f1 team:
| Carlos Sainz Sr. reveals he's discussed Audi's F1 entry with Sainz Jr. "I know how seriously they take every project."
at this point it's a pattern that has been repeated a few times. carlos is a very realistic option for audi (that launches in f1 in 2026) -- so his goal is to rn renew with ferrari for at least the 2025 season, and then has audi as an another option.
while carlos uses his family's prominance, charles has more personal sponsors and social engagement. he's using that to negotiate on his end a better contract for himself.
the ferrari contract is known to be quite restrictive, they have puma as their clothing brand so charles was banned to launch his own clothing brand CLACE (which he recently started wearing again). the ferrari contract in general is built around the fact that ferrari doesn't want to have a driver bigger than themselves, ferrari always comes first.
so it's interesting to see their different approach in it and i'm interested to see how the contracts negotiation turn out and when we get the announcements

With all the talks of contract signings at the moment, the narrative of SAINZ TO AUDI are resurfacing once again. While Audi has been looking promising, people need to realize a couple things.
1. It’s still Sauber for another year. We’re talking 2026, not 2025. With the new regulations coming in, it’s going to be a big transition for the team, considering they’re changing ownership and the car by a significant amount. This could mean absolute chaos internally, as the team hires new employees, relocates old employees, etc. The transition from Sauber to Audi is going to be quite interesting to watch, starting with the Hulkenberg swap in 2025.
2. Historically, Sauber has been a place where careers go to start or to die. Look at the last few Sauber drivers. Kimi Raikkonen, Antonio Giovinazzi, Marcus Ericsson all ended their careers with Sauber, and it seems that Valterri Bottas and Nico Hulkenberg will have one of their last contracts with the team as well (potentially). Carlos is at his peak right now. He’s in his prime, he’s 29 years old and he’s winning races. It doesn’t make sense for him to sign with a team that can’t guarantee points and certainly not wins. He’s not signing his last contract, he still has another 5 years at least (unless he pulls a Fernando Alonso). That’s 2-3 more contracts. Moving from a backmarker team upwards is a lot harder than the other way around. He would need to perform spectacularly in the Audi to get the attention of the leading teams again, unless he wants to spend the rest of his career in the midfield.
3. How much change do you think the Audi takeover is actually going to bring to the team? In the past, Sauber teams have always been in the back to mid field. Audi taking over won’t guarantee a change in this, considering the leading teams in F1 right now have been at the front forever and ever. The only thing Audi can promise is to move up in the midfield. Becoming a competitive leading team in F1 takes years of good results, as seen with RedBull.
Audi is only coming in with a new power unit, not a whole new car. That means they’re still using the same engine, chassis, etc. We saw the fun activity called “Sauber Pit Stop” this season. The team members and the technical portion of the car both need to work in order to have decent results, and it seems that this year, they are struggling with both. The team is struggling for points, and wins are not even on the table. For Carlos to see their insane (read: bad) pit stop times and incredible (read: also bad) race results and consider joining them is a bit strange. TL;DR, Audi isn’t going to miraculously change everything that’s wrong with Sauber. That could take years to fix.
4. Has anyone actually considered if Carlos wants to go to Audi? Why would Carlos move to Sauber in anticipation for Audi if there are other teams that want him as well? Mercedes have been eyeing him up, Redbull have stated they would love to have him, and he is by far the most desirable driver on the market right now with more wins than the majority of the backfield drivers. Any team would be happy to have him, but Audi just seems to want him more because of his familial connections.
“Oh but his dad drives for Audi!” Yeah, that would be cute, but let’s consider the future of Carlos’ career here.
“But Audi is great in Rally! They won and everything!” Have you considered that Rallying and Formula One are COMPLETELY different sports?
“He should just sign! He’s wasting everyone’s time and he’s going to end up without a seat if he keeps stalling!” My dude, we’re not even at summer break yet. Chill. Just because we’ve had some unusual silly season activity very early on in the season doesn’t mean the season is ending any sooner.

You said elaborate and infodump, and i said “say less!” i could talk about this forever
okay so, this post is based on Formula 1 contract extension news.
Charles Leclerc is a monsagasque driver for Scuderia Ferrari. This past season was trash and it wrecked all of us ferrari fans. like, shit kept going sideways and nothing ever went right haha there were times were the drivers (Carlos Sainz is the other driver) would be managing their own race strategies while driving so it was just a shit show. Crashes, DNFs, and like everything that could’ve gone wrong, went wrong.
Two days ago, it was announced that Charles signed a contact extension to stay on with the team for a few more season (thinking until 2026? maybe more?)
Forza Ferrari (Sempre) is like the “ferrari power” “ferrari power, always”.
so like after ever shit race last season, we’re all like “forza ferrari!” to try and stay positive hahaha but ugh, charles is such a good driver and deserves a winning chance. i just don’t think ferrari is it, but ill support him through whatever. cause, Forza Ferrari Sempre 🏎️
Lando Norris is a Mclaren driver whose contract didn’t end until 2025, and the fact that he’s announcing his contact extension early is like “uhhhh okay?” just a little odd, but pop off king.
Also- when drivers contacts are going to expire and everyone’s wondering where they’re gonna go or if they’re not coming back for the next season, it’s called Silly Season.
now i (kinda) get it
BUT WTF DO YOU MEAN BY „managing their own race strategies“?? i didnt know driving uses strategies 😭 ok but tbf i can barely drive let alone pararel park 😬
ehehe silly season sounds silly 😃

me so badly to join the daniel to at delusion change but the rational part of my brain yelling about the backlog helmut has created in the rb juniors between liam, yuki, and all the other f2 drivers (nyck is not going to be in f1 unless he starts doing truly miraculous things god bless)
ok but just suspend ur disbelief for a second and just think about daniel getting to prove himself, at the red bull junior team, in a car that has the potential to suit him...and then him getting upgraded to the top team in 2025....just in time for that ford partnership in 2026 they are using him constantly for as PR fodder......i also think helmuts little driver factory is a bit like zak brown's twink farm......lots of promises, no show of prizes....you've just gotta let urself fall to the delusions for 5 minutes and then snap out of them again and then when its silly season bring them right back up to the surface

Falcons Draft Rumors Explode After Shocking Owner's Meeting Revelation!

A big topic amongst Falcons fans has been whether or not Atlanta will draft a quarterback. This is something that Terry Fono spoke about at the NFL owners meeting not too long ago. So, I want to talk about some quarterback targets for the Falcons in the draft if they go down that path. Now, let's go back in time for a moment to when Terry Fono spoke to the media not long ago on adding a quarterback. He said, 'We're definitely going to add a quarterback. We're not going into the season with two arms.' That quote right there got chopped off, and the second half of it, which I'm about to share with you guys, is very important. But when you just look at the front half of it, people have taken that and ran with 'Atlanta's drafting a quarterback'. Summary: The Atlanta Falcons are facing a pivotal decision regarding their quarterback situation, following revelations made by Terry Fono at the NFL owners meeting. Speculation is rife as fans debate whether the team will draft a quarterback or focus on supporting Kirk Cousins. With uncertainty surrounding Cousins' health, the pressure is on for the Falcons to make the right choice. I'm not convinced. Here's the full quote: 'We're going to definitely add a quarterback. We're not going to go into the season with two arms.' But it could be the draft, it could be before or after the draft, and we'll be open-minded about how we go through that. So, I think the last part is very important, that maybe before the draft or after the draft in free agency. And I fully expect Atlanta to have three quarterbacks on the roster because every team in the NFL has at least three, sometimes four, quarterbacks going into OTAs and minicamp. Just to help facilitate the drills when you've got 90 guys on their roster. Especially with Kirk Cousins coming back from an Achilles injury, he likely won't be ready to roll for the first day of training camp. So yeah, Atlanta's going to add a quarterback. It may be as low level of a UDFA signing, it could be a draft pick, it could be free agency. But don't look at that initial quote and go 'it's a done deal, the Falcons are drafting a quarterback'. I am more confident that the Falcons will not draft a quarterback in round one or round two than I am about them drafting Dallas Turner. And I've already deemed him a Falcon, his wings are growing right now. So there will not be a quarterback selection for the Falcons in round one or round two, and there better not be. Not because there's bad quarterbacks in this draft class, not because I don't like the idea of taking a quarterback. In fact, I think me from like a few months ago would slap myself silly currently. But the reality is, Kirk Cousins signed a 4-year $180 million contract, but the guaranteed money is the number I want you to remember right now. $100 million guaranteed through the next three seasons: 2024, 2025, 2026. Atlanta has hitched their wagon to Kirk Cousins to the tune of $100 million. If you spent $100 million on a home and then you went to like Target, wouldn't you want to buy things to help accessorize the home, not go buy a smaller home? Day two picks should be 100% devoted to supporting Kirk Cousins. There's only one position on the roster that does not make Kirk Cousins a better quarterback: it's the backup quarterback position. If he was younger in his career, yeah, he could probably benefit from having another mind to help him during film prepping during the week. The guy is 35 years old. No 23 or 24-year-old rookie is going to hop into a quarterback room meeting with him and go 'Kirk, I don't know if you noticed this but the defense, they're lining up with two safeties. Do you know what that means?' Kirk's going to look at him like 'get out of here'. So no, there is only one spot that does not improve the Atlanta Falcons or specifically Kirk Cousins, and it's the backup QB spot. So round one, round two, round three picks should all be devoted to investing in your $100 million quarterback, whether that is wide receivers, defense, so that Kirk Cousins can put up 30 points and not lose 31-30. Pass rusher, cornerback, literally any position but the backup quarterback position will improve Kirk Cousins in Atlanta, I am convinced of that. So go support him. Now, does not mean the Falcons will not draft a quarterback later on towards day three. And we all know that rounds six and five and sometimes even a little bit of four, they are, you know, shots in the dark here. So what I want to do next is look at Mel Kiper quarterback rankings. Because despite how passionate I am that the Falcons should not go quarterback in rounds 1 through three, that does not rule out the possibility of them going quarterback in round four, five, maybe six. Because it is a valuable position where you want to have a good backup plan in place in case Kirk Cousins does get injured. But I still maintain the belief of you should spend your top three rounds investing in supporting Kirk and getting good assets around him. So what I have here is Mel Kiper quarterback rankings. You see all the names on the left: Caleb Williams, Jaden Daniels, Drake Mann, just cross them all off. They are not happening. No JJ McCarthy, no Michael Penix, no Bo Nix. I expect all six of those guys to go in the first two rounds of the draft. Maybe Penix sneaks into round three, but I still don't think Atlanta would go Penix in that spot. So that leaves you with Spencer Rattler, Michael Pratt, Kaden Slovis, Jordan Travis. And then here are five other quarterbacks that Mel Kiper did not have in his top 10: Joe Milton, Devin Ly, Sam Hartman. Oh, Sam Hartman's actually at Notre Dame now, sorry about that, silly me. Austin Reed and TOA Tug ioa. So there are, I would say, 10 quarterbacks that are in play potentially for Atlanta in rounds 4 through 7, day three of the NFL draft, because I don't see them going in the top three rounds. And I don't think any of the guys that we looked at in the top six are going to sneak into the third day of the draft. So with that all in mind, let's kind of reset our sights and check out who could be a realistic quarterback target for rounds four, five, six, or seven, where if Atlanta does decide to go QB, this would be a more appropriate option. Spencer Rattler, I don't think is a lock for the first two days of the draft. Neither is Michael Pratt, Slovis, Jordan Travis, Joe Milton, Devin Ly, Notre Dame Sam Hartman. Sorry about that again. Austin Reed, TOA Tug ioa. These are all guys that are going to go, in my eyes, from rounds 4 through 7. Some UDFA priorities, maybe Rattler sneaks into round three, but I think there's a chance he might go to round four because there are some concerns about his antics off the field. So we're going to look at, of those nine guys that Atlanta could be targeting, who makes the most sense for the Falcons? But first, speaking of Kirk Cousins, if you want to get a brand new Kirk Cousins Jersey, go to chatsports.com/cousins and use that link to get yourself an awesome new Falcons jersey. In addition to keeping up w/ animated movie release date changes, I also like to keep up with the Mouse House specifically...
Disney recently removed an untitled film (whoever was doing one, Disney Pictures themselves or 20th Century/Searchlight) set for 9/6/2024... And added KINDS OF KINDNESS, from POOR THINGS director Yorgos Lanthimos... With Emma Stone and Willem Dafoe starring in it, no less. Comes out June 21, 2024, the same day as the movie they let go of - THE BIKERIDERS, now a Focus release - debuts.
This thing has been in the can since late 2022. POOR THINGS was filmed from mid-to-late 2021. So, a release date locked this close shouldn't matter. I'd imagine it cost more or less what POOR THINGS cost to make.
So it looks like, three months into the year, Disney's 2024 slate is currently complete:
04/05: THE FIRST OMEN (20th Century)
05/10: KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES (20th Century)
05/31: YOUNG WOMAN AND THE SEA (Disney)
06/14: INSIDE OUT 2 (Pixar)
06/21: KINDS OF KINDNESS (Searchlight)
07/26: DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE (Marvel)
08/16: ALIEN: ROMULUS (20th Century)
11/08: THE AMATEUR (20th Century)
11/27: MOANA 2 (Disney Animation)
12/20: MUFASA: THE LION KING (Disney)
I quite like this slate. Some 20th Century/Searchlight titles, a smaller-scale Disney live-action for once (YOUNG WOMAN AND THE SEA, which was originally supposed to be a straight-to-D+ movie), only one Marvel movie mixed with some franchise favorites. The more the smaller stuff balances out the biggies, the better. We may or may not get there, what with the new head of Disney Live-Action being the former Searchlight head.
I can imagine Disney's 2025 changing radically as well in the coming months, as that year still has *four* Marvel movies, and some random untitleds (such as one that moved from August 2025 to October 2025). TRON: ARES has been filming, so that likely nabs one of the summer season dates that the studio has right now. MOANA Live-Action is nowhere near ready for next summer, so I think that's getting moved back to 2026. Plus, opening a MOANA remake so soon after the release of the original animated movie's sequel is silly. That thing was only announced to whet the appetites of shareholders anyways, so giving it a date was a little hasty.
I assume SNOW WHITE (which had been delayed from *this* March all the way to March 2025) and AVATAR 3 stay where they are, ZOOTOPIA 2 could be a mover depending on what's going on with Suzi Yoonessi's Disney Animation film. If that's being made in Burbank right now while MOANA 2 is being made in Vancouver, maybe it could... I dunno... Possibly debut in late winter/early spring 2025? Perhaps fill that undetermined 3/7/2025 slot? Just a hunch.
We'll see how it all plays out...
