the sandwich post just has me wondering what kind of bread u guys eat

#i have bread opinions #because see. um. #here the word 'sandwich' is only used to describe the ones that r made with sliced bread #like → 🥪 this one i guess? #the ones made with . more baguette-like bread are called 'bocadillos' n they're like. idk the Good and filling ones #the ones in pokemon scarlet and violet are Bocadillos #like that game mechanic is so real its existence fills me with joy #so like that kind of bread is usually good by itself it's not dry even if you don't add oil or butter or anything to it #unless it's like. whole wheat bread. that one is often dry there are few that aren't #but then again im not exactly talking about baguette bread . #at least the one that's sold as specifically baguette here and the french one that i remember is. a bit too thin to add filing to it? #and here it goes stale within like a DAY #of course bread is best eaten fresh but it's nicer if it lasts just a little bit longer..... #i get that lasting longer is kinda the appeal of sandwich bread #and also the fact that it's pre-sliced but it's not the kind you eat when you want Good bread #(i live in humidity land) #anyways. where was i going with this. #ah right yeah the bread here is usually at least a little wider than traditional french baguettes (?) #but in the end the technique and outcome of the crust and such depends on the bakery and #yeah i don't know what else i wanted to say mitsuru moment over #i love bread #mar's midnight rambles #additional disclaimer i actually still don't know how to make sandwiches in pokemon violet

I always kind'a felt like a certain.. gloomy-ness, would be fitting for him. He already has some of that in the game. But with everything my Freddy's been through.. just.. having this weight to his tone. This lingering exhaustion.. I felt like it would suit him. :(

Ah yes! The idea behind that was to show the initial divide between Grillby and Spamton.

You see, Spamton hails Jevil as his savior of sorts. He was at his lowest low, and in unimaginable pain.. then Jevil just swoops in and offers his hand. Bringing him outside of his AU. Away from the pain, away from the torment.. Jevil is awesome!!

But then you've got Grillby.. Jevil saved him from his AU right before it collapsed in on itself. He "saved" his life, but at what cost? Grillby lost everything. And he cant help but be angry at Jevil for it. Thinking that if Jevil hadn't been there, he could have just peacefully disappeared along with his family and everyone else in his AU..

So Spamton is endlessly respectful towards Jevil, and Grillby cant help but roll his eyes and spit sass at him all the time. Those two opposing views are bound to cause problems someday..

I imagine one day the whole group is tired and cranky. Jevil did something that Grillby didn't agree with. Some bitter remarks there, Spamton defending Jevil's decision here.. some back and fourth and next thing you know a fight breaks out. :x

I pictured Yendo being another one of Funtime Foxy's nightmare-ish visions. Though I should consider passing that onto Bon Bon.. 👀

The story goes that Funtime Freddy is a frequent flyer in parts and service. The employees groan that there's always something wrong with Freddy that needs fixing. Nobody really knows why..

Now at some point Freddy was shut down and in parts and service. As per usual.. Foxy was nearby, and heard a sudden thud/crash coming from that room. He rushes inside to see what happened and finds Funtime Freddy on the floor, what ever he was propped up on had broken, causing him to fall.

He looked at Freddy's face.. and.. his face plates were wide open..

Foxy. freaked. out. If I remember correctly, he was supposed to start shouting and panicking. Trying to help Freddy, thinking he was hurt. When he couldn't move Freddy and he wouldn't wake up, Foxy ran out of the room to get help. He runs into some employees and tried to tell them what happened. They end up just forcibly shutting him down because he cant stop freaking out..

Later on he's reactivated and the rest of the gang is with him. Including Freddy. He uncharacteristically runs to Freddy all worried and frantically inspects his face for injuries. They ask him what he saw but he just.. doesn't have the words to describe it.

Part of the horror is Foxy's inability to understand what he saw. Therefore being terrified of it and being unable to describe it..

After that Foxy began to develop these hallucinations of sorts. Overtime the image of Freddy's skinned face kind'a turns in to its own nightmare. Yendo.. overtime it feels more like "Yendo" is an entity separate from Freddy. Foxy begins to imagine this skinned bear like creature that is out there somewhere.. wanting to hurt Freddy and take his face.. its not fun :(

This idea is still in development. Well, the whole AU is. But this was my initial idea for Yendo :)

Now old man consequences is tricky.. I had intentions of him being this weird vison that Foxy sees now and again. But with recent developments to the AU.. I might need to scrap the old gator. Or at least re-write his role and function in the AU-

And as for the question, I pictured that Mario never really liked the ice flower to begin with. I imagined Mario loving the heat and the sun. Always enjoyed being warm/hot and functions the best in it.. You know like a maniac-

So the Fire flower was naturally his favorite powerup. And that experience did leave Mario with some kind of trauma, which just added to his dislike of it..

Oooh! Exciting!! YAY! 🎉🎉 Firstly, welcome, welcome. How wonderful it is that you wanna write and share something with us all, that's so cool! ✨️

I suppose the best way to break in, is to take the leap. I know, groundbreaking advice Jett, right? Hehe! 😆

From experience, these are all things I've learnt and had guidance on myself during my time on wacky Tumblr, so here are my pearls of wisdom for ya...

So you've written the fic. WOO! 🎉 Now what? Well, firstly, have a treat. Some cake or vodka, or both. You've earned it. 🍰

Then, when you're no longer hungover and throwing up cake, do these things:

And make yourself a banging banner of some kind, or use a picture/GIF. I'm personally more likely to be drawn to a fic to read if there's a cool banner, or you've made a mood board or have a GIF. Kinda sets the tone, you know? We love a bit of the ol' aesthetic. Like a bookcover, we're immediately drawn in with our eyes. Be creative, go nuts. Use the free trial of Canva to go design crazy.

Check it through for grammar and spelling as much as you can.

You can always have someone beta read it for you. And look at your formatting to ensure you don't have massive spaces between your paragraphs etc... When I copy and paste into Tumblr, it screws up the formatting from Google docs, just to test my already thin thread of patience further, no doubt... 😑 It's not a massive deal, but I guess presentation is a hook in itself, right?

Beware of glitches when saving your drafts on Tumblr too. The app especially loves to auto-post it when you hit save, 🤬 so double check you're saving it in draft, not in post, before you're ready to post it to the world.

Everyone has their owns tastes and comforts when reading fic, and quite rightly so. Variety is the spice of life. 🌶 And look, you'll NEVER please everyone. So don't even try. But what is important is that you give the reader a choice to read it or not.

⚠️🚫🔞👉🏻👌🏻 Ensure you list any trigger warnings.

Look, there's this age old debate that continually surfaces on whether we should list every single trigger or warning in our fic, or should we just... not? 🤔

The simple answer is, it's up to you, ultimately. Not everyone does this or feels the need to do this. I mean, published books don't, right?

HOWEVERRRRR. And it's a capital letter however. There are so many people who won't want to read stories about certain topics. Age Gap, Anal, Noncon etc...

I personally won't release a fic without listing all the triggers as I don't want any of my readers to encounter something that could be triggering for them later on. Yes, to some degree it can give away "spoilers" but it's up to you as the writer ultimately about how much you want to give away. If you fic contains Age Gap, you can simply write "Age Gap."

Use the Read More/Keep Reading divider.

It looks like this on the app:

Some people write a paragraph or two before they place it on, others hide the whole fic and just leave the intro/warnings etc... on show. How you do it is up to you, but please, please use it!

Nobody likes to scroll through a whole chapter of 10k+ words trying to get to the next post... nobody. Cue ranty Anons in your mailbox if you don't. We've all been there and made that mistake. 😬

Plus, using this will also hide any explicit or triggering content from immediate view. People more than likely won't read your fic if you don't have one of these on it.

# Tagging

Tagging - to tag or not to tag?

Tagging is a massive topic, but essentially it boils down to two types of tagging.

Tagging using a # which is at the bottom of each of your posts, and tagging people in your posts by using the @ and then their username.

So say, for example, you've written a Joel Miller fic.

Oh, hey Joel... we're talking about you handsome, not to you.

You can tag it "joel miller" or "joel miller tlou" or "joel miller x reader" etc... People can follow the tag, so they'll see your work in it if they're following it.

If you search the tag on Tumblr it'll tell you how many people are following that tag too, so you'll know which ones are more popular and will be seen by the most eyes.

Currently (as of writing this response) the 'Joel Miller' tag has 225k followers! 👀 So if you write a Joel Miller fic, you deffo want one of your first 5 tags to be that one!

☝🏻Note that the first 5 tags you use are the ones that Tumblr actually uses to make your fic show up in those tags too. You can put up to 30 tags on a fic and yet Tumblr only counts the first 5. Dumb, I know. 🤦🏻‍♀️ The rest is just for your own use to find it again on your blog.

If you search your own blog using "Joel Miller" everything you've ever posted with Joel Miller will come up. So you can use your own tags or words for yourself too. I use "Jett's fic recs" for example, when I re-blog someone's fic so I can find it again.

⚠️ And you can use tags to highlight triggers too, for example you can write "tw blood" for a blood warning. (tw = trigger warning) People can block tags so certain things don't show up in their feed as a way of shielding themselves from content they don't want to see/read. So if I've blocked "tw blood" I won't ever see your fic, even with all the other tags you use.

So be mindful of how you tag, not only for yourself, but for others too.

And essentially tags are how some people choose to comment and interact with you. Some people write mini fics in the tags! It's really quite fun. Just remember, there's a limit of 30 tags per post and put your best 5 first.

You can also tag users! You can offer up a tag list to users who you think might be interested in reading your fic (feel free to tag me, I'd love to read it!) A lot of writers have a bunch of regular readers who they'll tag @ username on their works. They're called tag lists. Readers may reach out to you to ask to be tagged too.

There's no shame in hyping your own work - you wrote it, be proud of it! 🙌🏻

Others choose not to do this and instead create a side blog for notifications of their works. It's up to you how you choose to do this, but if you tag specific people, chances are they're going to read your work because they want to.

You can tag up to 50 users on a single post, I believe. (Or at least it's 50 users and 50 links when I do my fic rec lists) I think it varies if you're on app or desktop. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong... but there is deffo a limit.

Reblog your own work for time zones.

So, I'm in the UK and the majority of my followers are in the USA, so when I'm in bed snoozing away, they're awake and reading smut at work.... 😏 So I'll schedule my fic to release at various points in the day and night so everyone can see it on their feed.

Keep it circling too, I'll go back and re-blog older works when more people follow me so they don't miss out. And as a writer, you'll want people to love your older works as much as the new.

And finally, some basic etiquette...

Please don't be disheartened if your fic doesn't get the traction you want right away.

It does not mean that your writing isn't good. We all started in the fandom with 0 followers and 0 reblogs. Its important to remember to write, first and foremost, for your own enjoyment. The right people will find you and love your work, it just takes a bit of time.

You can jazz your fic up with dividers and GIFs. Just ensure you give credit by @ tagging the person who made the divider you're using, if you choose to use one, and use the GIF search function on Tumblr for your GIFs, as they auto tag and credit the creator of the GIF for you. And that way, everyone stays happy. ✌🏻

And finally...

Interact with your comments and reblogs. People took the time to read your work, even just a simple thank you back is always appreciated and well received.

Re-blog, re-blog, re-blog what you love!

The like button is for bookmarking only. It does absolutely nothing to make posts get seen like it does on other socials. Re-blogging is what gets yours and others work seen and put on people's feeds on Tumblr. If you want people to re-blog your own work, you'll need to give back and re-blog theirs too. Tumblr is all about sharing in the form of re-blogs.

"Bye!" You call to the other trainers leaving the raid as you adjust your bag a bit on your shoulders and make your way down the hill.

"You've been going into those crystal caves a lot lately," Arven says as he joins you. "Are you sure it's safe?"

"Well...." You reply, your voice gaining pitch as you draw out the word. "Jacq isn't entirely sure..."

"Seriously?!"

"But! I mean, who else could be safer than a champion in there, right?"

Arven sighs, his shoulders slumping. "I guess... It'd still probably be best if you didn't go in at all..."

"Who else would take care of the terastallized pokemon then? Besides, I'm finding some other powerful trainers in there, and I think we're working up a pretty good system of getting the pokemon calmed."

That seems to settle Arven a bit. "Really?"

"Yeah. We all have to be powerful enough to battle them, but with a good team strategy we can get them down quickly."

"Huh..." Arven pauses a bit. "Maybe you should introduce Nemona to them."

You laugh. "Maybe! Not yet though. I love Nemona, you know that, but she's...a lot... I kinda wanna keep at least one of'em to myself for the time being. At least for his own sake. Nemona would definitely scare him off."

Arven bristles, but you don't notice.

"Oh? ...Him? Who is this guy?"

"Haven't learned his name yet. He's really quiet. I don't think he quite knows our language well yet because when he speaks it's with a really thick Unovan accent. He's super strong though. He understands his pokemon really well. It's crazy impressive. He's got a huge dragon."

"Yeah, well, so do you." Arven retorts, sounding defensive. You stop.

"Yeah. I know. I was there. You gave him to me. Technically, I think the PokeBall is still registered to the professor. What's wrong?"

"Nothing, nothing," Arven replies, continuing along the path. "I guess I just don't get what's so great about this guy."

The next time you leave a crystal cave with the black electricity crackling around it, Arven seems to be in a foul mood.

"So did you see that Team Plasma guy again?"

"What are you talking about?"

"Well, you said he was Unovan."

"Are you being for real right now?" You laugh. "Just because he's Unovan doesn't mean he's a member of Team Plasma. C'mon. That's gotta be racist or something."

Arven huffs. "Well, did you ask?"

"What? If he was a member of a terrorist organization? No. I didn't."

"I'm just saying..." Arven grumbles, and you let it go for the time being.

It's a week or so before you run into the Unovan again, so this time you decide to ask him along to your exit to the cave. May as well, right? You more or less communicate with your rotom phone the desire to strategize and talk about pokemon, so he agrees. You offer your hand so as not to lose him in the trek out, and he follows you out into the light.

In hindsight, maybe offering your hand like that was a bad idea? Because waiting there at the entrance was Arven, and when he sees you with the Unovan, you feel like you've done something wrong, somehow.

You don't have a claim on Arven. You're not dating him, and he's not dating you. You're also not dating the Unovan. There's nothing to feel bad about, yet...

"Arven!" You call out to him before he has a chance to turn tail and leave. "I wanted to introduce you to that friend I was telling you about from the raids."

He stops and turns back to the two of you with an uncomfortable look.

You gesture to your new friend. "Arven, this is... Uh... N. Just N, right? I'm saying it right?"

N nods and holds his hand out to Arven. "Good day, I am charmed." He says with an exceedingly thick accent.

Arven narrows his eyes and tentatively shakes N's hand.

"Uh...Yeah. Hi."

"I told N we should do some team strategizing for different teratypes and invited him for lunch."

You feel like you can see the hair on Arven's head stand on edge like an angry maschiff "But I was going to make us lunch." He whispers to you in frustrated tones.

"I know, I know... I'm sorry, I didn't think I'd see him again, since there's no guarantee when these things happen. We can eat somewhere if you like. All three of us? My treat? I don't want to waste your good food."

That seems to calm him somewhat. "...Fine. But you're playing translator, too."

At the restaurant, Arven makes a show of being the one to sit next to you in the booth, which you don't particularly mind. Having him next to you will make it easier for you to swipe food off his plate without him noticing.

After you all get through ordering, you and N start the ordeal of figuring out how you'd best like to approach different teratype/regular type pokemon combinations.

Arven sits there, quietly stewing, unless he has something to offer by way of insight regarding typing related to his own team of Pokemon or Pokemon he faced in the wild that left a strong impression.

N meanwhile proves a little difficult to communicate with, even with translation devices. It's not his fault; just shortcomings of the technology. You all work through it as patiently and politely as you can (Arven a little less so, admittedly), and by the time the food arrives you think you might have a simple outline. Nothing crazy, but it's a start.

Arven's the one to break the subject from the raids. "So, uh. Why are you here? Why'd you leave Unova or wherever?" You give Arven a harsh look for the blunt question, but N only tilts his head and gestures to your phone, so you type in the question to your translator. Once he's had the chance to listen in his native language he thinks for a moment before responding.

"I love pokemon. I want to do good with pokemon and see how...people and pokemon can...live together good?" He phrases it like a question, you imagine, because his grammar isn't perfect, and he's aware of it.

"You couldn't do that at home?" He retorts.

"Arven!"

N holds up a hand, seeming to get the gist.

"Home is......hard. I need to learn for myself. Unova is different...culture."

You nod, understanding.

Arven sees that and speaks up. "Yeah, I've heard about how Unovans treat their Pokemon. Didn't you all literally have a terrorist group nearly wipe out your elite four and gym league or whatever?"

You kick Arven under the table, and N very visibly bristles.

"Team Plasma." He says in the Unovan language (Galarian? They're the same language, right? Fuck, Salvatore definitely taught you better than this), but you both get the gist. N opens his mouth again then closes it and moves to his phone to have it translate for him. "Plasmid Group brainwashed people of innocence. I do not agree with them. They are unfortunate recent history."

"See, Arven?" You scold. "What did I tell you?"

"Whatever..." Arven slumps down in the booth a bit.

From there, the meal continues on a bit awkwardly, but you and N are able to continue working through your plan. He seems surprisingly unbothered by Arven's attitude, so you just kinda let it go.

The meal ends without further incident, so you usher both men from the restaurant and back outside.

The three of you dawdle for a moment, and it's clear that Arven is very uncomfortable. N meanwhile seems to be none the wiser.

You break the silence. "So..."

Before you can continue, N pulls out a PokeBall and releases his dragon whose name you don't entirely remember. He climbs up on its neck while Arven blanches at your side.

N reaches out a hand to you. "You like to ride together?"

You look up at him incredulously, thinking about the possibility of getting on top of such a large pokemon. It's definitely a lot bigger than your usual ride around the region.

"Absolutely not," Arven interjects, getting between the two of you.

"A-Arven?!"

"Just... No. Okay?" He whispers to you without turning his face from N. "Please?"

You look up at N and slide your hand into Arven's. He squeezes it gratefully.

"Sorry, but no thank you. I'll see you at another raid?"

N shrugs, then perks up like he just had an idea, then lifts his phone. "Number change?"

"O-oh! Uh..." You look to Arven. He frowns but makes no other sign to stop you.

"Sure."

N tosses his phone down to you, and you plug your number in quickly and send yourself a text before tossing it back up.

N looks at his phone then back to you and smiles.

"Okay! Until another time!" Then he flies off with a wave that has yours and Arven's hair fluffing in the resulting wind.

Once the dust has settled, Arven breathes out a major sigh of relief.

"What was that?" You both ask at the same time

"What was what?" Again you jinx one another.

"That pokemon?!"

"That behavior?!"

for starters, i wanted to experiment with changing the type of bread he's based on. i can assume chuck is based on the classic sandwich made up of white bread (...💀) so i wanted to change it up for latino chuck.... yknow... yknow.... yknow.... 🕴️

i had a couple of options to chose from so i can upgrade his sandwichness™ 💭 but i decided to settle onnnnnnn..........................

funky multigrain bread!! my favorite 🥄🥄‼️ anytime i make a sandwich, i usually reach for this bread... (and when i say "anytime" i mean the times i'm extra and watch a chuck episode while eating a sandwich 💀💀)

i like the idea of chuck having seeds and grains on his face... think of it like moles, freckles, or even acne scars if you will 🤷‍♂️ brent straight-up has seeds on him that represent freckles so why not, right⁉️ we can get creative here w/ it!!

above is a fast doodle, but it is what i ended up sticking with for my design. if you see in the final drawing, i did shift around with some of his costume colors to make it work with the bread type-colors!!

i imagine brent being a variation of bread that looks similar to chuck. that way chuck can be multigrain bread and brent can be another type.

the wiki doesn't really help me decide. he has freckles that seem to be like seeds, so that means he's a type of bread that has seeds. but also, not that many seeds.... which is likely an animation thing since animating all those damn seeds must be hard. but idk? but his skin tone is very slightly darker than chuck so that makes me think he isn't white bread based™ (help what am i talking about)

🦈 Gantu & Reuben: Regret 🥪

Summary :: Gantu gets angry at Reuben, then feels remorse.

Warnings :: Fighting, light swearing, physical touch.

Notes :: This isn't a shipping fic!! More of just Gantu and Reuben being besties :3

The sound of jar scraping and whisper-humming could be heard from the kitchen of the former Captain Gantu's ship. Reuben, his little sandwich sidekick, was slathering strawberry jam onto a price of bread, while another piece of bread covered in peanut butter sat next to it. He hummed happily as he finished up spreading the jam on the piece of bread, then placed it ontop of the bread with peanut butter. Just as he was about to push the sandwich into his mouth, he heard the sound of the elevator whirring.

Gantu appeared after a moment at the top of the elevator. His hands were balled into fists and he had a sour look of his face.

"Aww, lemme guess. You got your butt kicked by that little girl and my cousin again?" Reuben said with a teasing look as he took another bite of his sandwich. Gantu turned around and scowled at him, getting right up in his face. "Why don't you shut your trap before I pummel you?!" Reuben squinted his eyes and raised his eyebrows at Gantu and responded with; "Yeah, yeah. Okay blubber butt."

Gantu rolled his eyes and sighed loudly. He turned to go to his room, but saw the mess in the kitchen.

"What the hell is this?!" He said as he put the dirty dishes and silverware in the sink. "I just came back from a hard day of work, and now I have to clean up some sandwich trog's mess?!"

Reuben shrugged. "I was hungry."

"You're always hungry!!" Gantu responded.

"I mean, that's my purpose. Oh, and what a wonderful purpose is is." The little yellow experiment jumped down from the counter and walked towards the couch, grabbing the remote. Gantu saw him do this and glared at him.

"Don't even try to watch anything. Doctor Hamsterveil cut the cable." He sighed. "Again?? Wowzer. Buddy, you gotta start catching these experiments so I can watch my sandwich channel."

Gantu balled his hands into fists once again as he heard Reuben. "Well then, why don't YOU try capturing a damn experiment??" He spat back as he picked up Reuben with one hand. But before Reuben could get a word out, Gantu continued. "Ohh wait I know why! It's because your a failed prototype of 626!! FAILED!!! Nobody needs you! I don't need you! Just get OUT." As Gantu finished his rambling, he dropped Reuben back on the couch and stomped away to his room.

Reuben sat on the couch in shock. He usually didn't care when Gantu, or anybody in fact, fought with him. He always used humor to win. But hearing that not even Gantu needs him? Oh.

Maybe he's right.

Maybe he should just leave and never come back.

...

Nah, he's too lazy for that. So he snuggled up in the corner of the couch and fell asleep, most likely dreaming about sandwiches.

Inside his room, Gantu sat on his bed. Just fuming at the thought of the little yellow trog. He shut his eyes tightly and tried to collect his thoughts.

Although his exterior showed that he absolutely hated Reuben, on the inside it was totally different.

He wished Reuben were here in his room right now, laying next to him like a little pet while watching their favorite reality show together.

After about 10 minutes past of Gantu sitting on his bed, lost in thoughts, he got up and went into the kitchen. He opened a cabinet and saw it stacked to the brim with bread. On the outside of the cabinet door, a sticky note that read "Bread" in messy handwriting was placed. He softly smiled at the thought out Reuben placing the piece of paper there.

Gantu pulled out two slices of bread, some bacon, blankets of lettuce, and a few tomatoes. He placed all the ingredients on the first slice of bread together and topped it off with the last slice. Then, he carefully put it on a small, white plate.

He smiled, admiring his work. "Reuben will like this, won't he?" He thought to himself.

Gantu walked into his living room area since it was the last place he saw Reuben. And of course, there he was. Snuggled up on the couch. Gantu placed one of his big hands on Reuben and shook him ever so slightly to awake him.

After a bit, Reuben's eyes reluctantly opened and stared back at Gantu. He opened his mouth to say something, probably a sassy remark, but Gantu stopped him by placing a finger on his mouth.

"I know, I know." Gantu started. "I... Uh..."

He looked down at the little yellow trog, remembering his words.

"...I'm sorry. For what I said, I mean." Gantu broke eye contact and looked away. "I do care about you. A lot, actually." Realizing he sounded soft and that he was breaking his tough exterior, he added on. "I mean... you're my only 'friend.' So, of course I care about you. I-I guess. ...I appreciate you. Thanks. For... Sticking around and everything." As Gantu finished, he softly patted Reuben's head and put the plate down on the couch.

Reuben smiled his big silly smile and grabbed the sandwich. "Aw, thanks 'G!" He said in an almost joking way, but his feelings said different. Moving into a more serious expression, he continued. "I appreciate it big guy." He placed his tiny paw on Gantu's arm. Gantu gave him a wide, genuine smile as Reuben hopped up onto him and sat on his shoulder. "Oh... By the way, I recorded your silly little soap opera show."

Gantu's face lit up "Really?? Well... Uh... if you'd like to watch it we can." The little yellow experiment on his shoulder patted his horn. "Yeah, of course big guy."

The rest of that night was used up with Gantu and Reuben watching their soap opera. They shared sandwiches together, taking bites out of each others and rating them. Reuben snuggled up in Gantu's arm while watching together despite the splash zone above him of Gantu's tears.

"G. It's not that deep. What's even goin' on here? Who fell into the coma and cheated on that blonde chick again?"

"*SNIFFFF*.... IT WAS ASHLEY!!!! HOW DO YOU NOT REMEMBER??? WAHHHH!!!!!" Gantu said as he blew his nose for the millionth time. Reuben rolled his eyes playfully as Gantu hugged him even tighter while he cried.

They ended up going to sleep together at 2 in the morning. Gantu's big body was sprawled across his bed, his arms holding his fluffy little sandwich loving friend.

The triplets were getting too old for their monthly ritual. At least that’s what Alma said. Not to them of course but to Pedro the morning of the full moon.

Pedro laughed then kissed her forehead. “You say that now but someday when they really are too old you’ll miss it.”

He was right of course but someone in this family had to at least pretend to be the stern one. When night fell however and the door to their bed room creaked open Alma let out a purr of delight.

The purring stopped when her ears were met with small mews. Alma and Pedro popped their cat heads over the side of the bed and gapped in shock.

The triplets were kittens.

Spoken natively by half a billion people across twenty-some countries, Spanish will hit you with some rich linguistic differences.

For starters, soft C (ce and ci) and Z in most of Spain including Madrid and therefore the standard in the country; gets pronounced as /θ/, same sound as the TH in English found in words like thinking.

However, on the Canary Islands and in the Americas, soft C and Z get pronounced just like /s/, this phenomena gets called "seseo." This is why everyone you know in real life pronounces it like that. This is the way I speak it and most Spanish speakers do.

Countries have lots of different ways to refer to things. In Spanish class we even had parts of the course dedicated to explore the dialect differences of other nations for enrichment I guess.

You are not bad at Spanish here, it's just that sometimes the different peoples will have a whole different word for the same thing.

Let's look at the three words you mentioned.

BEAN 🫘

I call it "frijol" but other derivate words people use to refer to such legume are frejol, fréjol, fríjol, frijón, frisol, frísol and frisuelo.

Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia, Paraguay and Chile call it "poroto"; depending on where you are on Spain, it will be "judía", "alubia", "faba" or "habichuela"; and in Venezuela it's "caraota".

SANDWICH 🥪

From the English word, some people will call it "sándwich"; or more closely appealing to Spanish's phonotactics: "sánguche". Some people will pronounce it as if the word was "changüich".

The word "emparedado" also exists. Spain calls it "bocadillo" but that same word in other countries can refer to a snack or a packed lunch. In some other countries, if it's for example a ham sandwich they will call it "pan con jamón". Some people that clearly don't understand Mexican gastronomy will tell you in Mexico they call sandwiches "tortas" but that's only true if the bread is one of these:

Also "torta" means cake in other countries; I call cake "pastel", others will use "tarta".

COMPUTER 💻

The English word describes the machine was one that computes, a.k.a calculates. I call it "computadora" but on Chile and Colombia it is "computador."

However, in the 50's a French philospher thought such word was quite restrictive of what a computer can do, just not do math; a computer can organize and bring order. So the French created the word "ordinateur" and in Spain it's "ordenador."

Interesting how this is a 20th century technology word and we see a divide between Europe and the Americas. It reminds me of 📱🤳, in the U.K. and Spain it is "mobile" and "móvil"; and in the U.S. and Latin America it is "cellphone" and "celular."

Of course, teaching courses, media, dubbing, networks and international broadcasting will have to make a choice on what words to use. I have seen many memes of little kids using the words they see in dubbed cartoons that try to appeal to a neutral Spanish that is quite different from the vocabulary used in their environment. When Minecraft YouTubers from Spain became popular in the early to mid 2010's; the Latin American kids started to copy their vocabulary and swearing. There are dubbings that make little changes to create different versions for different countries, and there are others that heavily marinate the dialogues into a dialect and throw in references to appeal more to the audience [Like Shrek and Mexican Spanish]. The different dialects of Spanish bring curiosity and adoption of words, but also disharmony and judgement in the Spanish-speaking internet; it can be like war out there, also this is based on the rivalries you can sometimes see between the internet users of different countries (Argentina and Mexico is a heavy one).

Anyways back to Duolingo, when I used it for French I was mad the app marked wrong my answer because I said "frijoles" and not "porotos."

That's a lot of very good information! This is part of the reason it's so difficult to learn a language through an app. You miss out on the "why" of things 100% of the time but also most of the time you lose out on the option to ask questions. In Spanish class u can just raise ur hand and say I don't get it! What does this mean? But with an app u just gotta.. trust whatever the first 3 people that u can find in a google search. I'm mad duolingo decided to... do all that. Not because it was the best way to learn a language, but because it was very accessible as a free option and I was familiar with it. If I didn't work full time + could afford it I'd be taking actual lessons. But it seems I'm doomed to flail my way into learning with the options available to me asdfkskkcks thanks for all the info rye

Oh man, I missed you reblogging those ask games but! How about 4 and 18 from this game for Ángel and 🖊️(obviously for the future), 🥪 and 🤔 from this one for Frida 👀

Ángel:

4. In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts? 

I cannot say, it's spoilery XD But you know Ángel's whole biography now, so you'll probably guess.

Anyway, Ángel was born in Avalor during Shuriki's reign when music was forbidden, and this is the reason why he left Avalor eventually. There was a major push that made him do that, and it's directly connected with Shuriki's policy and his own wishes. Like, if he was born under Elena's rule, I imagine his life would be slightly different (or easier at least).

18. What is the most recent thing you’ve discovered about your OC? 

Ángel is now good at languages? XD I'll be honest and say I actually have no idea what learning Maarswikan will lead him to, I did it only for the sentiment that Frida knows his native language, and he wants to know hers because he gets easily excited about things x)

Anyway, if I need to mention something more relevant to his story, Ángel writes poetry, and this is basically the first step he makes (unintentionally) towards his dream.

Okay, I'm not sure what you mean by saying "for the future", whether it's for the modern AU or when she just gets older. But I got curious about how people did tattoos in the past and read a little about it. It reminded me of how my old friend and I made henna tattoos, and I think this is something Frida might enjoy given she's all so creative in an artistic sense.

I just don't think she would want to have permanent tattoos x)

🥪 SANDWICH — what does your oc's typical lunch look like? do they usually eat lunch?

Aajbdmfk I don't know what her diet is x)

But okay, she certainly eats lunch, I don't want her to die of starvation. I also love the idea that despite living in Avalor (alright, she's not living there anymore but shhh) she still loves Maarswikan traditions and would prefer Maarswikan meals over Avaloran ones (I'm too lazy for googling the Dutch meals but hopefully you get the idea).

🤔 THINKING FACE — what are some of your oc's quirks/mannerisms?

I really don't know?? Frida is quite reserved, and it obviously affects her movements, she wouldn't constantly wave hands like Ángel does because she's simply not expressive enough for that.

I don't know, she often fiddles with her necklace/bracelet when she's nervous or blushes easily when someone compliments her or generally is being nice to her, does it count?? She also rarely gets angry, she would never yell at anyone, but she would express her resentment in the most hoarse and scary voice possible, anyone at whom she's angry would prefer if she just yelled at them.

Okay, my each answer is worse than the other, I'm sorry for that XD

For the oc ask game for Hope: 🥪 On a scale from ‘burns water’ to ‘5 course menu’ how well can your OC cook?🪤 What is one thing that could be used to lure your OC into a trap?

Thank you so much for the asks dear! :D <3 Hope is an okay cook, she can make her own meals and they are average nothing Gordon Ramsey status. However, her baking is incredible. She prefers honestly more to baking over cooking (Though the girl cant live on sweets alone lol) As for luring Hope into a trap it's a bit tricky. I feel like Hope is kind of hyper aware of people's intentions and motives, and also doesn't trust a lot of people anyway. However, if like a child or animal was involved then she would probably have her guard down. I think also if this was a build up for a trap like let's say: villain befriends her before Hope knows said person is a villain and they treat her with kindness then lure Hope somewhere I think that would work on her too. But let's say someone just pulls up in their van asking for help and needing Hope to come with them, Hope is like nope sorry, I have watched to much true crime. I guess it's kind of too what Hope's mental state is that day too but I guess the short answer is kids or animals . (sorry for long answer lol but thank you for the asks! <3)

Hello, anon from the shit sandwich here 🫶🏼 (didn't answered before because I was on my badminton class)

Partly, I told him I didn't wanted a relationship cuz I know this dude and when he had a girlfriend before, he was always like "y'know, today three different girls I don't know tried to flirt with me" and even if he didn't flirted back, he did considered cheating on his girlfriend once and I had to give him an one hour pep talk comparing him to James from the folklore triangle 😭

The thing that bothers me the most is not that he's with someone else that's not me, it's the fact that he had just gotten out of a relationship where his girlfriend's parents made her break up with him and he was telling me a lot of stuff like "I'm not having a girlfriend for the next year" and now he's making out with this girl who he finds gorgeous and it's starting to look like he only talks about her when we see each other

i made 2 sandwiches yesterday ate one yesterday. it felt kinda bad to eat. 2nd one i put in the fridge cuz the first one sucked to eat so much i couldnt eat anythig for the rest of the day. the 2nd one in the fridge wassoaking thru the bread and a bit soggy. however. it was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH better and easier to eat just now. it was good even. hm.... i say the first one was kinda bad but like my head that day was hurting so much that it made it miserable to eat. it didnt even taste that good. but it was the same kinda sandwitch. the 2nd one was just that much better. the stars just aligned for hta tone i guess  🥪
