Kalim was excited while you were using him to finish up the exams for your weekly missions. He was one of your mains, and it brought so much joy to his already joyful heart. This time however, you were choosing the moves and not autoing the battles. Your attention on him made him so happy. While doing the daily exams, Kalims's ears picked up such a beautiful song playing in the background.

“When good old friends are going away, Will you wish them to remember your name?”

You seemed so somber when listening to the song. As if your heart weighed heavy with something but you still chose to smile. Kalim liked it when you smiled, especially when he was the cause of it. There was something off about that one lyric. There was a certain sadness in your eyes.

Did people forget you? His heart swelled with empathy at the notion that you were forgotten amongst peers within your world. How badly Kalim wished to whisk you away and into Scarabia. All of his dorm mates would treat you with such adoration and not a single soul would go on without remembering your name. You were the creator after all.

Kalim made sure that when the last exam ended, he was the one on the victory screen. He said his coded line but when he asked if the opponent was okay, it was more directed towards you. Your gaze lingered on the victory screen. Kalim urgently answered your question. His words didn't reach you but the sentiment was still there.

“Of course I would! And I'll remember yours too, creator!”

ROOK HUNT

Rook had his usual smile on his face, one that never revealed his true inner feelings. He was the only one in the guest room wandering around. You watched with entertainment while trying to decide what item to craft and add to the concoction of furniture within the room. Rook sat down in one of the plush chairs provided in the guest room humming the tune playing in the background. One lyric caught the hunter's attention, however.

“May you, the beauty of this world always shine.”

Rook's eyes widened at the sudden lyric. Shock flooded through his system but it wasn't evident over the screen. His chibi in the guest room froze on the chair it was sitting on. You recognized his beauty. Shock soon turned into amazement at the notion of what you said.

Rook was often used to being the pervaior of beauty, but having you call out his beauty made him so happy. His lips spread across his face. A smile from cheek to cheek was evident. He hummed in amusement, leaning back in the excellently crafted chair. He wanted to pay you back for the excellent song.

His beauty was mostly for you. He dedicated so much to represent himself the best he could. Even before his transition into Pomefiore. Rook looked at you from the other side with such adoration. His beauty didn't rival yours.

“You're the reason I always shine, creator.”

SILVER

Silver was dozing off, much to his dismay, while you looked at one of his cards. His chibi form was on display while you were looking at one of his cards' stats. He was very grateful that you were paying so much attention to him. Music played in the background as you decided what to level up on the card. It was calming enough to put Silver right to sleep.

“When good old days are passing away Will you promise your heart remains the same?”

Silver immediately awoke with his drowsiness now gone. He looked at your calming features. That one lyric replayed in his mind as if it were meant for him. The song continued to play, but that one lyric swarmed his thoughts. Does he dare answer you?

He so badly wanted to. Even if the question was just a song. Even if he was reading too much into it. Silver could have been dreaming it for all he knew. He didn't care; he wanted to express that he wouldn't ever change.

At least he wouldn't change much. Silver was overwhelmed with happiness that you liked him so much that you didn't want him to change. He was sure you still would even if he did. After some thinking, Silver made his mind up. His little chibi made eye contact with you once more.

“With you watching over me, I can promise I won't ever change.”

Omfg.....I am in shambles. AOTG is too good. It has that plot of invisible string with the reference in paper rings fleshed out("without all the exes.........here so tall"). Her vocals 🤯🥵🥵. How could she leave this. This makes me sure that joe also had his share of 'all too wells'. Something she hinted in willow (show me the places where the others gave you scars). And the treat me like a lady😫😫. I feel like the bathroom reference is jake(party bathroom,cry tears mascara in the bathroom,etc..) The ready for it...? reference (I forget their names now).The leaving without saying goodbye part made me think of HS(Mainly because of her AYHTDWS speeches and breakup makeup). It is also important to note that she is not jealous of his exes but she is thankful they made him who he is today. For some reason this song feels like false god sound to me. God!!!! I wanna teach you what forever feels like is such a 'I wanna brainwash you into loving me forever" .

i love just reading this and nodding along, and for every argument about why she left it off the record (too many love songs, she uses its themes in other songs, lover was already too long, etc), i have two counterarguments. the first is, she has never actually addressed the concept of being thankful that the other girls in his life existed, because they helped him become who he is, plus the mention of his mom!, and there is something very warm and gracious and newly grown in that concept (i've seen people say this makes it too much like thank u, next, but they're quite different to me?), and, second, IT'S A GREAT SONG!!! WHY CUT THAT GOOD OF A SONG?! AHHHHH

i still think she could've opened the album with it to set the whole scene. iftye is...fine...but the callback to rep isn't entirely necessary and it doesn't do as much for the album's whole concept. imagine starting with the gratitude and then telling the rest of the story, the bookend with daylight, with once believing love was burning red, but it's golden! envision this with me please, it makes me lose it!

there are so many parallels and references to her past experiences, as you pointed out (even to glitch and "dudes who give nothing"), and the idea of "forgetting" can tie into the experience with CH as well. definitely think crying in the bathroom and leaving without saying goodbye are allusions to those relationships you mentioned, and her processing the way they fell apart so sharply contrasted with what she feels with joe. the reason i half-joked that this song would've ended so many arguments years ago is because it gives us an even more whole picture of them, and her maturity and the love they share as partners, it gives us that peek into the fact that he's had his share of heartbreak too, AND it has killer production and amazing vocals. i've been in the TRENCHES for lover and aotg would've simply proven those points!!! that's interesting that it feels like false god to you, i wonder if it would've helped false god feel less out of place sonically to some fans? (i loooove false god btw!) her sincerity and that feeling of contentment in the song too, i just! it's very "all that you ever wanted from me was sweet nothing" coded too.

another thing the leaks of aotg and need did was remind me how very much i love lover and its heart and the revelations she gave us through it and its soundscape. taylor's description: "Lover is, like, completely just a barn wood floor and some ripped curtains flowing in the breeze, and fields of flowers and, you know, velvet." i feel that SO vividly in these two tracks where i might not in a couple of the songs that did make the album, and i'm curious HOW she made those decisions. (secret unpopular opinion shhh but they reminded me why i actually cherish and prefer the overall sound of lover to midnights. not at all discounting midnights' strengths as a whole, but in my heart, i'd always choose lover.)

she paints such a beautiful portrait of their love and i adore every crumb we get of it, i am a simple hopeless romantic girl! every dead-end street lead you straight to me! because things that feel like endings take you a new path! i love you more!!! 😭

9/22/23 — 1:20am

i hate wanting to be productive in the middle of the night. i was tired all day tdy, and now i just want to do something productive. no!!! i work earlier than usual tomorrow!!!!

im doing my skincare now... i wore makeup tdy so i have no choice but to do it 🤯

im tired still but i dont want to sleep. i feel like i havent been productive enough tdy even though i went to 3 different appointments and within the 2 hours before work i cleaned my bathroom sink (that was incredibly disgusting, i am not exaggerating. no one has cleaned it in like a little over a year. my dad shaves his face there whenever it gets like 5 inches long and doesnt clean the hair out of the sink/on the counter. its gross.), made ramen (it wasnt v good).... at work i walked around almost the whole 6 hours. my feet hurt so!! bad!! after i work. it happens every time. it doesnt help that when i fell down my stairs, my "sprained" foot didnt heal properly. i also hurt my hand at work and have not seen a doctor .... im ngl im like a mess and if i tell anyone abt this theyll tell me its because im fat and need to lose weight WE GET IT. I KNOW. IM TRYING, AND JUST BECAUSE I AM DOESNT MEAN THAT I CANT HAVE SMTH WRONG WITH ME?????

im tired. like mentally and physically. i had counseling tdy and i told her everything and the time still wasnt full. she shared some things abt her life recently... still didnt fill the time. she didnt respond much at all, but she's grieving, so i understand

im not telling anyone except u and my digital diary about my situation with my ex... i need to stop complaining to people abt him and making it everyones problem when its really my fault i keep letting him back in my life. its bad! ive literally had dreams where he did that *thing* but like in an extremely worse way, and i told myself that i just had to live with it, that i have to get used to it. and, i mean, i guess i do... if i can *** ***** then he can do whatever.

im not even with him... just flirting heavily. he picks up on it, i think so, anyway....

idk why it pisses me off so bad but when b says shes ugly it makes me so angry. "why cant i be like the pretty girls?" she is the definition of a pretty girl... she may not see it because people were mean to her growing up but its like... ive cried SO much because of how pretty she is. my parents call her the pretty girl, people at school say shes pretty all the time... it just makes me so upset that someone as pretty as her cant see it. and i wish she could, honestly.

and i hate that this makes me so angry. i have so much envy that it rips me apart every second of the day, and i hate it!!!!! im the fat, ugly friend, and i always felt bad for her being friends with me. she says that im one of the prettiest ppl she knows.... if that were true, would she have deleted all the photos of me off of her phone? who knows. and the fact that people compliment her all the time at school and in public should say A LOT about how pretty she is. it happens all the time! and i mean all the time. maybe she doesnt think it was genuine or she forgets? idk... i think the last time a stranger complimented my appearance was a year and a half ago at a taco bell drive thru. the last time i was called pretty (besides when my mom says it) was at leastt 6 months ago. im like distraught because she is literally so beautiful fuck

this is going to make me cry myself to sleep because i cant say any of this to her because this is really just unhealthy of me, like the envy and making me seem like the victim. it just makes me so upset that everyone thinks shes pretty but herself

Ok so who upset God??? 👀

Which Prophet, Pastor or Apostle is jealous of the gifts of another servant of God?

Who has accused this servant and prophet of needing to display more humility?

I was given this scripture and a song (please excuse the swearing in the lyrics).

This is what the Sovereign Lord says…

Moses was given this special relationship with God because his calling demanded it. When God first spoke to me he was in a cloud ☁️ I will never forget it. I was todays year old when I learned that cloud was in fact God’s true form he uses when he speaks to humans, based on these scriptures 😱🤯🙊 “Then the Lord descended in the pillar of cloud and stood at the entrance of the Tabernacle”. ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭12‬:‭5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God gave Moses a special audience because he was humble and the LORD trusted him… why else would he be given this gift to see things others could not including the gift of seeing the LORD as a cloud? Do you know what Moses had to endure for him to be able to lead the Israelites out of Egypt 🇪🇬👀 Some of us had to walk through 🔥FIRE🔥 to get to where we are today and where we are going to tomorrow, why be jealous?

Also a Cushite is a modern day Ethiopian. Ethiopians are Black. Is someone speaking out against someone’s wife? Are you in an interracial relationship/marriage? You can clearly see here that Miriam could have been RACIST. Someone could also be talking about the appearance of someone’s wife or gf.

I’m going to leave detailed commentary on this scripture. It’s interesting because God spoke to me and said someone should speak to MARYUM and now he’s led me to this scripture. I didn’t go looking for it 💯

One thing to note is one of Moses wives was name Zipporah. In this song one the artists name is Zipporah. I mean COME ON?!?! That name is not common. I just can’t invent this stuff babes. I really can’t. I don’t have the time😂.

I woke up one morning and heard the song playing in my ear as if I had my headphones on 🎧I hadn’t heard it in a longgggggg time bc, as some of you know, this mixtape was released over a decade ago (SN: I love this beat btw and this mixtape is a classic 😜)

In the lyrics it also says something about spit and in the scripture God speaks of what would occur should Miriam’s father spit in her face: “But the Lord said to Moses, “If her father had done nothing more than spit in her face, wouldn’t she be defiled for seven days? So keep her outside the camp for seven days, and after that she may be accepted back.”‭‭ Numbers‬ ‭12‬:‭14‬ ‭NLT

Think about how shameful and demoralizing it would have been if your father spat in your face? 🥺 This is what God did to Miriam and this is what will do to those who speak ill of you.

Someone is going to be punished for speaking against you. This could even be a religious leader or those in the church but it doesn’t have to be. This could simply be another servant of God. They will become sick 🤒

These individuals are jealous and envious of your gift. They themselves need to be humbled and that is surely what the LORD will do. They accuse you of being prideful yet it is their own pride that leads them to falsely accuse you. They are no different than the Pharisees

I was also shown the word “gossip”. The song mentions that too.

The article breaks this scrip down beautifully and it’s a MUST READ. Based on this, you’ll know if this word is for you.

Who is the LORD speaking to? He is surely defending your name as he did for Moses. You will be VINDICATED and as the song says your doubters will have to pick their jaws up from the floor after they witness what God will do in your life. Like Miriam they will feel ASHAMED. When you speak against or disrespect a Prophet of the LORD, expect disaster to come upon you and SUDDENLY.

This commentary is DEEP. I LLAAVVVVEEEEE IT 🤩

PS. When others falsely accuse you, like both Aaron and Miriam, pray for them just as Moses did.

PPS. When God’s Spirit departs from you as a servant of his, all hell breaks loose. I’ve seen this happen and it also occurred to Samson when he chose to disobey God.

The LORD is also saying, someone needs to apologize FACE to FACE for hurting you just as Aaron apologized to Moses.

If you are this person who needs to apologize, be clear about your transgressions, don’t beat around the bush or speak in riddles via social media. Don’t act cowardly. The apology has to be as LOUD as the disrespect was, perhaps then the LORD may have mercy on you as he did with Miriam and give you back your glory and success… Oh my didn’t God say speak to MARYUM!?

Yeah it’s time. If this person keeps delaying this conversation know that God has already spoken to them about putting their pride aside and apologizing.

Perhaps she is owed an apology. I’m hearing no success will come until this is done as the scripture says “So keep her outside the camp for seven days, and after that she may be accepted back.”

It’s reminding me of Beauty and the Beast. In order to regain his wealth and good looks, Beast had to humble himself and apologize to Bell for the curse to be broken and like Miriam, be accepted back into camp and most importantly, into God’s good grace 💛

Also, even though God may forgive us, there is always consequences for our behaviour. That cannot be avoided. God may forgive a murderer but that murderer still has to serve time. Let’s not forget that the next time we decide to hurt another. Forgiveness does not absolve you of the consequences. Justice will always be served when you trust in God to vindicate you.

PPPS: lol I was watching the Princess and the Frog and the movie spoke about Gumbo Soup 🍤, which is a Louisiana staple food, in the song it mentions that too. This might mean something to someone as the Frog prince was arrogant to the poorer Tiana because he felt she was of lesser value than he was when in fact HE was superficial and just as broke. He too needed to be humbled.

Please understand the LORD and his Angels give me music just as confirmation just as he gives us movies and scriptures.

Pray about this message because it won’t be for everyone.

I had a visitation from the DEVIL 🤯 He showed me his true form which was a darkish grey blue.

Since God revealed his true form in the cloud, he wanted to reveal his true form to me as well. He is jealous of God and wants to be like God hence why he does everything God does but in the reverse. Hence why he tries to mock God. That’s another word I’ve been hearing in the spirit… reverse. Wow

He looked EXACTLY LIKE THIS but with slightly shorter horns👀 ⤵️ oh my

A LOOK INTO THE ULTIMATE MUSICIAN'S INSPIRATIONS AND GENRE EXPLORATION ( art credits : 1 & 2 )

in the various media she has appeared in , from danganronpa’s anime , games , and mangas , ibuki’s approach to music has always been a staple function of her character. as is established in game , ibuki was once a part of her school’s light music club. ❛ light music ❜ is described as something akin to western pop music. at some point in time , ibuki realizes that her musical interests do not align with this creative direction , resulting in her breaking away.

in my rules , i note that i write ibuki under the specific title of ultimate musician. i choose ❛ ultimate musician ❜ over ❛ super high school level light music club member ❜ as : 1. i think it’s quite apparent that light music was never where ibuki’s heart was. 2. ibuki mioda is a musician in the most purest form. not a member of a band or club , but an artist in her own right. that is not to say the members of her previous club were not artists ———— but , her talent lies in her virtuosic ability of creating music. that is , without the constraints of a genre , instrument , or confinement of a group. ( though forming a band seems to be a very important dream to her ) 3. ibuki wrote all her bands music and it was so good that it instantly became a hit single and sold millions ———— komeada explains this to hajime during goodbye despair’s prologue. this coupled with the other aforementioned points lead me to believe that hope’s peak scouted her under the title of ❛ super high school level musician ❜ or more simply put , ❛ ultimate musician. ❜

her music style debuts in chapter three of goodbye despair when she hosts a concert event for fuyuhiko’s return. to everyone’s surprise , it is rather unique. based off the song , titled ❛ from me to you ❜ it seems to me that ibuki’s musical stylings fall inline with the overarching genre that is ❛ downer rock ❜ aka. heavy metal ———— i know , truly groundbreaking stuff. which i get is supposed to be shocking , though , i think that it is an interesting choice and thing to explore.

known to render is listeners unconscious , and possibly even scarring a one innocent kazuichi souda for life , it suffices to say that ibuki’s music is not well suited for the light - hearted , which is fair tbh.

❛ from me to you ❜ is a song that features a wide arrangement of vocals. consisting of screaming , death growls , clean and semi - distorted vocals , all laid over each other. with it’s alternating tempo , melodic vocals , and shredding guitar placements , it’s not that hard to find elements that fall in line with the attributes seen in what i perceive to be a more accurate depiction of ibuki’s main genres ( in the context of my portrayal ) ———— DOOM METAL , POST METAL , INDUSTRIAL ROCK , NOISE ROCK , PUNK ROCK. instruments that are staples in ibuki’s discography would be : drums , organs , bass , piano , electric guitars , synthesizers.

HEAVY METAL + ITS SUBGENRES : on the subject of doom metal , the neo world program reverts the members of class 77-b to be pre - ultimate despair , but even then , ibuki was still working on her craft. hardly ever does a debut song sound anything like later projects. with this in mind , ❛ from me to you ❜ is an iteration to what would become the more ❝ refined ❞ sound of ibuki’s musical catalog.

as the name would suggest , doom metal was birthed from the heavy metal genre. characterized by slower tempos , guitars , hard drums , low - pitched vocals that utilize distortion + growls , and a patented darker mood. doom metal’s roots are often traced back to the 1970 self-titled track of birmingham's very own —— BLACK SABBATH. ( yes , that is , ❛ black sabbath ❜ by black sabbath on the album titled . . . black sabbath ) with direct calls to satanism , the occult , mysticism and a seemingly impenetrable darkness , the early works of the band led black sabbath to often be touted as the very progenitors of all things metal ; and by extension , doom metal. tony iommi specifically is said to be the father of heavy metal , with ozzy being it’s godfather. applicable subgenres : gothic-doom metal , doom/death metal , thrash metal , drone metal , black metal , power metal , sludge metal , glam metal , doomgaze.

i don’t think people passing out upon hearing ibuki’s music is just some wacky accident. in dangan island , ibuki reveals despair is something she is well acquainted with. doom metal is known for its atmospheric qualities , drawing upon the very hopelessness that is associated with an all-encompassing sense of , well , doom. some might even say . . . despair.

ibuki’s anti - establishment beliefs drew her to punk rock and by extension trash metal leading her to experiment with faster paced songs as opposed doom’s longer run times. themes often found in her music are fantastical and i feel like she places great importance on upholding appropriate ambiance. one of the best ways i can think of referencing this is in danganronpa’s anime , where during her performance ibuki has a guitar that literally shoots out flames and ❝ plays ❞ it with her teeth like the iconic jimi hendrix. her shows are just as much of an integral part of her artistry because they support the music & elevates is communication. which is why she makes such a spectacle out of live events , drawing inspiration from bands like alice cooper , kiss , and twisted sister.

this blog’s despair verse ( which you can read more about here ) references some of ibuki’s concerts but i didn’t touch on what sort of vibe / aesthetic they have. —— since the despair era still preserves a certain level of original character personas , i’d say ibuki’s live shows during that part of her timeline wouldn’t differ all that much from later concerts post danganronpa 3. it draws quite heavily from the horror and shock factor seen from alice cooper. from fake guillotine executions to stabbing fake baby dolls , virtually everything was fair game. another way of rebelling against whatever was acceptable and rejecting the idea of a death by society , of creativity , originality , and the self. ibuki even refers to herself in the third person in the same way vincent furnier , aka. alice cooper , does.

METALLICA : with the faster tempos of trash metal being a staple of the band's discography , plus just being one of the biggest names in rock music , it’s hard to envision what would shape ibuki’s sound without listing this band. IRON MAIDEN , DIO , DEEP PURPLE , EXTREME , AND MORE APPEAR ON HERE.

PART II : serves as the more holistic overview of what ibuki’s music would sound like. it is the culmination of all artists featured in PART I. there is a bit of overlap with some artists in the first playlist since i can’t magically make ibuki make the songs herself. EMMA RUTH MUNDLE : specifically the ❛ may our chambers be full ❜ album for it’s sludge vibes. i can see ibuki moving away from this type of sub genre , focusing more on the other subgenres mentioned. naturally , there is much overlap to be mindful of , and it’s not like she’s going out of her way to stick within one specific aesthetic. KING WOMAN : layered vocals and thick in - your - face drums are paired with the melodically majestic voice that is kristina esfandiari. Okay, so, as much as I love the idea of dallas being a life guard, I have no clue how to fit that into a story. Instead I offer you this:

About a million years ago my dad came up with the 'guess their occupation game', where when your bored in public (totally not a real example but lets say, bored of following your sister around the mall), you look at random strangers and come up with a job and stuff for them

"People watching?" He asked.

You nodded, gesturing with your chin to where a woman in a bright red shirt was sitting, a pack of smokes clutched in her hand, "Okay. She's got a dead end job as a waitress, and a few weeks ago this real nice guy walked into her diner, and she fell in love. But, he's from out of town. He promised he'd come back and marry her before he left the next today. He said to meet him here, but he's not coming."

"What the fuck are you on about?"

You rolled your eyes, "Guess the occupation game. Your turn."

"The what?"

"The guess the occupation game. Your supposed to give random people a story. It's your turn, go." You half explained, looking around the park.

He sighed, "Why?"

"Because it'll kill time. Dude in the tracksuit whos about to run past."

Dallas watched the man run past the benches, "He's....... a bookie, down at the tracks, and he steals half of all the gambling money he's in charge of."

"Yes! That was good! Okay ummm. The teenager in the blue hat, by the pond. Most people think he's just in high school, and he is, but he runs an underground fight club in the gym after school."

"Lady in the yellow jacket. She's a housewife, twice widowed but just remarried," Dallas said, nodding to one of the other benches, "She came here to plot how to kill her third husband."

"Ooo, that's good. Uhhh, the idiots walking toward us. Big tall dude in the middle is a single mom." You chuckled at your own joke, pointing to where Darry and the rest of the gang were crossing the street.

So I watched Encanto and I NEED to rant.

Me here just vibing to 'We Don't Talk About Bruno'. First because it's one hell of a song (Good job Señor Miranda, you really over did yourself) but also because I relate so fucking much (to practically all the songs in this movie, it's so relatable it's not even funny).

I have my own 'Tío Bruno'. His name's not Bruno obviously, but he IS that uncle who left home (because he got fed up with my grandparents' bullshit) and so now it's like he never existed and we just don't talk about him. EVER. Only difference is that unlike Bruno, my own uncle will almost definitely never come back home.

And it's just a story that keeps on repeating itself, isn't it? My mom also has her own 'Tío Bruno' and my Grandma had two (well, in her case it was a Tío and a Tía. But still, her Tía's story was just as sad and she was completely erased from the family).

And then 'Surface Pressure'? I felt that. And my mom cried so much during that song, and I know it's because she has been feeling just like that for years now.

And let's not forget about Abuela. Goddamn, I have so many feels about Abuela. Like, I see my two Matriarchs reflected there. Both my Grandma and my Great Grandma. And it's just🤯.

I'm the daughter of the University dropout and the practically homeless and pennyless actor. I'm also the granddaughter that decided to say fuck it and study the one thing everyone said was for hippies and nature-loving potheads and that it would leave me jobless and poor. Do you see where this is going?

They were fucking right. Intergenerational trauma is a thing. And I had to see mine in a movie.

It's a fucking Disney movie and it has turned me into a fucking mess. I love and also hate it sooooo much. I see myself and my family reflected in the family Madrigal. I see my own house where I live with my parents and grandparents and uncles (all 10 of us) reflected there in fucking cartoons.

BUT. The family Madrigal, they worked it out, they talked about their traumas and aknowledged them and figured their shit out. And that's the part I HATE! (hate because it makes me jealous, but I love this movie). Because I know that in my case that's just not gonna happen. We will all keep on living with our respective traumas and open secrets that everyone knows about but no one ever aknowledges. And those who do, and who try to be something the family doesn't aprove of (like my Tío) will just be pushed out and forgotten.

This movie has ruined my life and I don't know how I feel about that. (Also I think I'm not the only one. From what I've seen around, ALL of fucking Latin America (plus lots of people outside of it too) related to this movie. It's fucking ridiculous. But for once I can honestly say that I love this Disney movie no matter how bad it sometimes makes me feel.)

VoicePlay: Hoist the Colours review

Note: I have some musical training, but I’m not an expert by any means. I’m mainly just pointing out things I like. Sometimes I’ll be able to tell what the guys are doing technically, but when that happens it’s usually pretty basic stuff.

0:08 - Cesar’s tone here is so light and ethereal, I love it! Also I was not expecting him to be staring right at the camera with that creepy eye of his 😳 very spooky indeed

0:14 - that low boom sound was SO cool, I’m guessing Layne did it? But idk how?? It genuinely does not sound human, I’m so impressed

0:18 - I love Eli’s tone here too!! I can already tell he’s going to be showing off his rock voice in this one, which fits perfectly with the pirate vibe and is always a treat to hear 🙌

0:22 - the harmonies here are just *chefs kiss*, especially since up until now everything’s been relatively simple and stripped down. (side note: I’ve sat at a piano and listened to this over and over again, and I still can’t figure out what the notes are 😂)

0:26 - round 2 of Cesar creepily staring down the camera, and I’m here for it

0:29 - I LOVE how Cesar drops out before the word “roam”, then Eli crescendos into the chorus. Fantastic use of dynamics, both arrangement-wise and execution-wise!

0:40 - Love how Geoff’s melody is doubled to give it more oomph (for lack of a better word lol). I don’t think VoicePlay often doubles melodies like this - it’s usually just the harmonies - but it sounds really cool! I also love how everyone is swaying back and forth like they’re on a ship, it really adds to the video’s immersion

0:50 - Super cool lighting flash to look like lightning; Eli really outdid himself on this one!

0:58 - Just like before, I love how they’re switching between really simple harmonies to really complex ones! It feels like the simpler parts help emphasize the more complex parts.

1:00 - The moment when Geoff jumps down on the word “shall” gives me so much dopamine (I mean the whole video does lol but This Moment In Particular just hits different for some reason)

1:02 - We’re only a minute in, I am deceased

1:05 - Love the use of rattling chains by Cesar! I think that’s perfect for this section, because it needs some kind of pulse/beat to keep it moving, but the verse is slow enough that I think if Layne were to beatbox it wouldn’t quite feel right (plus Geoff also holds down the rhythm with his bass line). Also, the dm dm dm’s during Cesar’s and Eli’s solos are so tight that when I’m focused on the melody, they all just sound like a keyboard

1:31 - I can’t get over how Eli starts this line with the melody with Jose singing harmony, then they seamlessly switch so that Eli’s on harmony and Jose’s on melody 🤯 if anyone ever asks you what creative genius is, show them this line

1:37 - Beat drop!! Also that transition with the sword?? So awesome

1:49 - the “oo-oo-ooh, oo-oo-ooh” like they’re mimicking the bell’s “sepulchral tones” they just sang about 🙌 idk if you’d call that vocal painting but I love it

2:08 - Love the rest on the downbeat (for everyone except Layne), then everyone starting back up on beat 2! Idk what that’s called but it’s like a reverse pickup beat so that’s what I’ll call it lol. Regardless, great way to grab listeners’ attention and keep the song moving forward!

2:13 - Go off Jose! 🙌

2:19 - Ooh now Eli is doubled!! Since it was just the last word that was doubled, it caught me completely by surprise, in the best way possible 😂

2:26 - Love Eli’s facial expression and hand gestures here, he’s like “yeah we’re thieves and beggars, and we’re proud of it, what are you gonna do about it?”

2:37 - Layne is nailing those C2s, I always forget how low he can go! Also he’s got that crazy look in his eyes again, everybody run

2:41 - Would this count as polyphony (multiple melodies at once)? I’m not sure but it definitely sounds like it, especially when Cesar comes in on the melody. There’s so much happening at once and I’m loving it

2:52 - Nice dissonance on the word “bed” thanks to Jose’s harmony!

2:57 - Go off Cesar!!

3:00 - dID HE JUST JUMP 2 OCTAVES?! *CHECKS PIANO* YEP THAT WAS AN F2 TO AN F4 I AM DECEASED 🤯 One octave jumps are hard enough but Geoff really just went “lol hold my beer” and doubled that. Sir please save some talent for the rest of us

3:04 - I don’t even know what to say anymore, this whole thing is so epic I can’t even think coherently let alone form words

3:18 - That’s a wallpaper right there

3:33 - Go off Eli!! That’s a high belt, even for a tenor, and he held it for 12 whole beats! 👏👏

3:39 - Ah, a trademark VoicePlay ending with an insane subharmonic from Geoff! Never gets old 😁

3:46 - Love the echo at the end, it ends the song the same way it started with the eerie, ghostly vibe!

Overall thoughts:

The costumes and makeup were phenomenal as always!! Everyone looks wonderfully piratey; Rick Underwood (makeup artist) really outdid himself on this one! I especially love Cesar’s eye, it’s very spooky. It also looks like everyone has a “VP” brand on their hand or arm, which is a super cool detail!

Everyone’s acting is amazing! They’re all really engaging the camera (is that the right phrase?) which is really fun, especially since usually they’ll just have a point of reference somewhere behind the camera. I guess what I’m trying to say is it really hits different when they’re making eye contact with the audience lol

This might just be my new favourite arrangement of Geoff’s - it’s so complex, there are so many ingenious details (I probably didn’t even pick up on a lot of them lol), it’s just perfect from start to finish. 10/10, Captain Jack Sparrow would be proud!

hehe okay! 🥰 (this is gonna be very long) so my atiny / kpopper / sanhwa bias origin story is...

in march last year i was scrolling through tiktok when i saw a video of san doing the fireworks "it's okay" dance move with his pink hair and everything and my heart was stolen just like that hsjdfskjh 💓

i didn't really know anything about kpop and i wasn't interested in finding out at the time >< so i just liked the video and scrolled past it but over the next 3 months i would catch myself thinking about it / him every once in a while and i just couldn't forget his beautiful smile and his pink hair and that move ADFDSKJ

the tiktok audio wasn't even an ateez song but i remembered it was tagged #ateez #san and i thought "there's no way his name is that short" lol but i googled those words anyway because i was curious and then i watched their studio choom fireworks performance and i was blown away 🤯

i didn't like the song that much at first but i loved their dancing and their visuals and of course the first guy who sang in the video was tall gorgeous slicked back hair seonghwa and i was just like "👀 who's that" FHFJFNSF

so then i watched the behind video to see what their personalities are like and i loved how fun and energetic they all were!! and then of course there was the scene where seonghwa was roasting san for closing his eyes when he performs and i laughed sooo hard watching that and they made me smile so much 😂 and that's when i realised that maybe i am actually into these kpop boys 👁👁 and that scared me a little because i didn't want to get caught up in the kpop rabbit hole

but i couldn't ignore how much i liked them so over the next few days i searched up more about ateez and san and seonghwa on google and twitter, binge watched ateez youtube videos, read their 🛸 pm messages, watched their vlives, etc and through all that i fell more and more in love with how amazingly kind and talented they are 💜💜

i also came across some stunning atinyblr gifs!!! and all those funny and pretty gifs inspired me to join tumblr again after 3 years and start creating content for sanhwa / ateez, and so purplesanhwa was born (purple because it's san's favourite colour) and the rest is history 🥰

so to answer your question, no, i didn't have any biases before sanhwa and i don't think they'll ever leave my bias line 💕💕

01. How did you find out about anime? Omg, I’m kinda afraid of this one because it all really begun recently, if I remember correctly, it was 2020 and my best friend made me start watching BNHA. Oh boy, little did he know that once I like something there is no turning back and so I started digging more and more. But let’s not forget those times when smol kid Nuu didn’t even know the word anime existed but enjoyed Inuyasha, Sailor Moon, Ranma 1/2 anyways.

02. What’s your favorite anime? Haikyuu!!🧡 I don’t know how many times I’ve watched it, every time I recommend it to someone I have to start watching it with them and I get all the emotions as if it was the first time all over. 🕯️Prayer circle for season 5🕯️

03. Do you have a favorite J-music/K-pop group/singer? Without a doubt: Centimillimental, I thank Given everyday for introducing me to this talented man, he is my favorite. Following real close is Eve!! There is definitely not a bad song omg. I also listen to a little bit of King Gnu, Burnout Syndromes, Aimer and thanks to my sister I’m starting to get into K-pop with Stray Kids, Tomorrow x Together...

05. Currently, what is your favorite fandom anime? I’m not sure if I’d be able to pick just one, maybe it’s because I haven’t been long enough in each one of them(? but with every anime/manga I start I gladly join and want to stay forever in that fandom.

06. Despite the ups and downs of Tumblr, what motivates you to stay here today and do your best? I don’t think I have experienced so many of the downs of tumblr since I just got back a few months ago, but one thing I know for sure; tumblr was the actual motivation to endure 2021, then I started finding lovely people that made tumblr even better... so, basically it’s the first app I check every day lol. here’s my albums of the month for may!! p much on time this time 😝

whole damn body - los campesinos!: this was a V exciting release 4 me, i’d been hoping the songs on this would get a rerelease ever since 1) i found out they existed + 2) the “all’s well that ends” ep got rereleased last year, so it was So cool it finally happened 🤯 los campesinos! are one of my fav bands and it was v good getting 2 hear these songs in better quality than the like, vinyl recordings of them i’d heard b4, “she crows” + “allez les blues” are definitely 2 of my fav lc! songs now 😌

contender - fightmilk: another album i was V excited abt, i’ve loved fightmilk 4 a few yrs now so this (their 2nd album!!) was s/t i’d been looking forward 2 for a while!! and it was worth the ~anticipation~ cos this album is fucking Awesome 😵 “hey annabelle!” + “overbite” are probs my fav songs from it, but tbh Every song on here is so good they could be a fav 🤧

kings & queens - jesus & his judgemental father: “it might get better” by jesus & his judgemental father is one of my fav albums like, Ever.. but for some reason i’d never got round 2 listening 2 this one b4?? 😅 but i finally did last month and omfg it’s so fucking gr8 🥺 “princess piss” + “astro boy” are 2 of my fav songs from it, they’re so fun, and obvs “king & queens” too!! i’ve got a jacket w/ a bunch of jahjf patches on, so now i kno where the one that says “the streets are filled with the gender police” comes from 😎

shape shift with me - against me!: absolutely Luv against me! but honestly i don’t listen 2 them enough.. 😔 usually when i listen 2 them i either go for “transgender dysphoria blues” or “reinventing axl rose” (still haven’t properly listened 2 any of the albums in between yet.. 😖) but i listened 2 this one for the first time in a while last month and holy shit How did i forget how good it is?? 🤯 like it’s definitely my 2nd fav against me! album after “transgender dysphoria blues” so i have No idea why i hadn’t listened 2 it in forever.. 😭

Princess Beatrice is engaged to marry Edo Mozzi Mapelli, son of the Count from Italy. They have known one another for years, the families have as well. They connected at Princess Eugenie’s wedding and have been together since, a whirlwind romance leading to engagement. Gorgeous engagement photos and ring, photos taken by Eugenie in Italy. A mozza bite, is a cheese canapé often served at parties/ weddings.A ding-a-ling makes me think of a very silly song that has very sexual,double entendre. I don’t think that’s fitting here, l think hits referencing wedding bells. So to bite the bullet, take the plunge etc is to make a tough decision, are you in or out? So are the rumours true? Is Edo biting the bullet and no wedding 🔔 bells? Despite the fact is he loves her so much, his son to consider, as well as his families aristocratic status. OR the opposite, he loves her so deeply, his son is apparently, despite his young and tender age is already receiving Royal,training, will bite the bullet, take the plunge and damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead with the wedding. We all know Beatrice was not and did not want a massive royal wedding, according to the papers and friends who have spoken. I really do hope and pray love reigns and wedding 👰🏽 bells 🔔will ding-a-ling🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻.

Sounding like discussion between the York’s and those involved with the wedding planning along with Edo and his family. There is so much massive, double positive l recognize my grammar, but l meant it that way!, negative publicity and just publicity of everything the York girls walking makes the papers. The papers l read all had to say Beatrice wore no makeup Edo’s birthday party because she would cry. WHO CARES. Why do that to her?

It really sounds like both girls are devastated but especially since Beatrice is engaged and was written to strongly encourage PA to do the interview, that was in the paper a few days, and Fergie also. Then oh sorry we shall switch it up now, forget the sorry, the papers then say they were both against the interview. I cannot imagine what Beatrice especially is going through. This is meant to be the happiest time in her life. It just crushing and my heart aches for all of them. It sounds like the wedding is very much on, love shall prevail with now exploring the idea of having the wedding in Italy. I know her mum really wanted the wedding in England, however circumstances have changed. Concerns may be about PA leaving England, l would seek legal counsel, because for some reason they are after him more than anyone else.

Andy, Charles and Clarence

Charles and Andrew will have a one to one very heated meeting at Clarence House, where the Duke and a Duchess reside and also have their official offices. PC has been on an extended tour, India, New Zealand, Australia, Tuvalu, Solomon Islands, due to return home today. There were volcanic eruptions of things happening on the home front whilst they were away and he had to discuss and make decisions very likely through FaceTime or something similar. He will have a meeting with PA and l am very certain it will be a heated exchange. Will be interesting, if as rumoured, the decision to strip his HRH status, all with no charges. We shall we observers if PC first major incident other than madam in his heir to the monarch status even higher now as HMTQ has handed so much over to him and PW.

So what about staying in the England and her PR off working in the soup kitchen near Windsor on Thanksgiving day??? The young ones her have no idea, trees all prelit now. She has no clue what is awaiting her. Fergie has red hair, or is a Ginger. She is a full gorgeous ginger freckles and all. So bottle of gin, play on her ginger status and likely having a few G and T’s to chill. There has been soooooooo much PR and newspapers spin on did she no she didn’t, for DAYS about her pushing “my boy” PA to do the interview, then the press or PR changed it to no she didn’t. She has stayed smiling and waving, keeping a positive public face so as to not give the media more fodder, as in the articles repeating over and over that Princess Beatrice wire no makeup to Edo’s party! WHO CARES ABOUT MAKEUP! Steady on Fergie!!

HMTQ and PP, who by the way is feeling much better and stronger, are sitting together, needing there very much earned alone time. She is her tweed skirt and a lowliest soft grey velvety vest, and silver turtle neck of softest cashmere. PP dressed, smartly but very cozily, he has on the lovelies softest dark grey slippers. Grey is such a beautiful colours in many tones. Television is on low, news of the day, which switches to Strictly, they enjoy the dancing 💃, speaking of the dancing they have done in different places and times. The Ghillies Ball at Balmoral a favourite. Tonight he is having his favourite Boddingtins 🍺 and HMTQ, of course gin and DuBonnet, 🍸.

The election that is nearing May result in parliament sitting over Christmas 🎄. Depending what happens, if new Pm elected HMTQ will have to deliver the speech written by that individual. If that it the care the ceremonial nature will be drastically pared down, as in, no carriage procession, the ceremony inside parliament etc. However, the problem here is this means HMTQ will not have her usual Christmas break at Sandringham as usual. It’s all very disruptive when things are already so skewed.
