i was going to reblog a post talking about aroace luffy and being COMPLETELY WRONG about it (let it be known that aroace luffy is merely a headcanon that happens to be universally accepted. coded characters =/= canon.)
but !! i decided not to waste my energy and instead thought about a sanji headcanon so
fuck you, heres aromantic sanji !! (lithromantic specifically)
what is lithromantic? lithromantic is a romantic attraction without the desire for reciprocation. in other words: someone who has a crush on another but doesn't want that same feelings back.
for a small explanation on why lithromantic!sanji... simply put sanji is overall a romantic guy and loves doing romantic/loving gestures for the people he appreciates
but to me, because of the environment he was born in. it made it hard for sanji to desire a committed relationship. so when someone reciprocates feelings for him or has feelings for him, he won't notice or that attraction slowly fades. he does eventually learns that not all committed relationships are bad and that they can be good. in fact, he'd be very happy for healthy relationships. but to him, he cannot desire it for himself and finds it discomforting.
now, sanji can still date or possibly be in relationships! it's just very unlikely or that he wont have the same desires as his partner.
he'll always have a lot of love and gestures to give, but he simply cannot take. (also yes he accepts affection just not relationships)
OKAY ADDING ONTO THIS BC MOOT ON TWT MENTIONED IT: sanji being lithromantic makes a LOT of sense because when characters like pudding showed interest, sanji was completely normal. and in a wano filler, there was a woman that clearly had interest in sanji. but instead he focused on her pet mouse while getting close in proximity with her. and when he notices shes anxious/something, all he asks is "hm? whats wrong?"
and honestly, i hc that if he does act weird around ppl showing interest but it's at the wrong time, he'd act as he usually does when being romantic

hiiii!! first of all I hope you’re doing good and resting a lot! secondly I adore your writings, your style is so good and since I love reading whatever your write I wanted to request a Zoro x F!reader (if you feel comfortable!) where the reader is part of the crew and beside being a great fighter is an exceptional singer, and Zoro has always had a soft spot for her but lately that has blossomed into a gut wrenching crush (reciprocated unbeknownst to him) and he’s particularly obsessed with her voice, believing she sounds like an angel, his mind tho wanders and sometimes thinks about less pure things, like how that voice would sound in a very different context, so one night after she sang for the crew before bed he just can’t stop himself and kisses her and the tension among them explodes, it’s your choice to decide how much NSFW you want to include, I will love it regardless. have a wonderful day 🫶🏻
hi angel ♡૮₍ ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶ ₎ა♡ i am definitely trying to rest haha, thank you; make sure you're resting too! i also hope you're doing well 💕 i am so happy you enjoy my writing, and i also liked this request a lot so thank you! i tried not to make it too long, but it's zoro, yk, he's a mess.
2.5k words, fem reader, nsfw, 18+ mdni; there's fluff if you consider zoro not choking her as fluff, a tiny bit of angst, and smut obvy; feat. fingering, oral (m receiving), alcohol, fun stuff like mutual pining and whatnot; reader is a singer in this fic; my islander roots are showing, i wrote abt the heat again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the air is stale, unbearable — the humidity absolutely infuriating, turning your skin sticky. when your crew stumbled upon the abandoned village, you never imagined the heat to trap you like this. normally, you can tolerate it, but for some reason you just can’t right now. you fan yourself tirelessly, waiting alongside nami and chopper as the others go to fetch water.
your companions complain about the heat, both equally as miserable as you are, even as you sit in an empty house, away from any direct contact from the sun. you know you should preserve your energy, but a distraction might be what you all need.
with your eyes closed, you steady your breath, the corners of your lips curling upward as you start to sing. it’s nothing complicated, the words are simple, a little melancholic — something you’ve hummed to yourself over the past few days — but it forces nami to scoot closer, and chopper to hop onto your lap to listen better. the dryness in your throat turns your pitch a little lower, tone raspier; your voice echoes around the room, tumbling out of the open windows, whirling around the street.
what should have been a fifteen minute trip, turns into a thirty minute one when luffy accidentally drops most of the water they collected — since he insisted on carrying it. zoro knew it was a bad idea, but he was so determined to get back that he hadn’t thought it through carefully. he waves off luffy’s half-assed apologies, walking back with the rest of the crew, senses sharp even as he jokes around with them. as they approach the village, your voice finds him first — curls delicately around his throat, choking him harder with each step he takes.
maybe it’s the heat, maybe it’s the fact that missed the initial part of your performance, but rather than head inside of the house like the others, he hovers by the open window, opting to listen without the prying eyes of everyone else. he’s always been fond — more than fond, actually — of your singing, much more than he’s ever openly admitted. the vulnerability that accompanies that sort of confession is wholly too intimate for him; so he swallows down the urge, lets it fester until he can’t handle it anymore.
he’s at his breaking point and knows that somehow he’ll need to find a way to remedy this before it gets out of hand.
you open your eyes and smile sheepishly when your crew mates give you a round of applause; their words of encouragement warm you significantly, and when they pass around the water, you take a healthy sip from your glass.
perceptive as ever, you notice zoro’s absence, but have a feeling that he’s not too far away. from all the time you’ve spent with your crew mates, you’ve more or less become in tune with them. and it could be that the way you feel about zoro is much different than the way you feel about the others, but you’re acutely aware of his presence even when you don’t see him right away. so when he finally does make it inside, no amount of water can properly cool you off.
your crew mates chatter around you, their voices practically background noise as you sip more of the water. after placing the jug down, zoro lifts his shirt and uses it to wipe his face, hating the way the climate of the island has them sequestered for a bit. your grip loosens and the glass slips from your hand, shattering on the hard floor on impact, water splashing on your sandaled feet. he looks over at you, frowning at your clumsiness — it’s not like you, and while robin and sanji help you take care of the shards of glass, you try your best to not let your mushy thoughts add to your misery.
swallowing hard, you wave away the thought that made you drop the glass in the first place; and if zoro were to ask you what happened, you’d openly blame him. it was the way he boldly had his abs on display, without a care in the world, as you did your best to quench the heat that spread through you. in hindsight, you really should have looked away, spared yourself the embarrassment, and just let your imagination do its job. but no. you were curious, and more than that, hopeful.
for what exactly, you don’t know.
the rest of the afternoon is spent in leisure; you all explore another area of the island, combing through the vegetation and gathering any edible vegetables and fruits and carrying them back to the ship that’s docked on the coast. because luffy is insistent, sanji prepares dinner on the beach — which leads to a bonfire, which leads to a small party of sorts. it lasts a few hours, and you all pile back onto the sunny, sleepy and content. it’s brook who encourages you to sing another song, opting to bring out a guitar to accompany you.
silence descends on the deck as you sing another song for them — something sweet and light, but still manages to captivate them all the same. zoro included. he hangs on to every note, every change in pitch and tone, can tell that after spending the day in the heat, your voice is much breathier — sultry, even. he reminds himself that there’s nothing inherently sexual about the way you sing, but he thinks about what it would be like to hear you hit the same kinds of notes, in a more private, intimate setting.
the thoughts plague him as you continue singing, so much that he paces a bit off to the side, hoping to burn off the excess energy that’s building up inside of him. a few minutes later, you finish the song and your crew mates head off to their respective beds — as if you sang them a lullaby and placed them under your spell. when you look around the deck, zoro is nowhere in sight; you walk around in search of him, and see that a dim light is on in the kitchen. you figure he probably went to get another drink, and since you’re not exactly tired, you decide to join him.
the whiskey burns, but still can’t shake the way your singing haunts him — infiltrating his thoughts at all hours of the day, distracting him even when you fight alongside each other in battle, it’s all very obnoxious and unnecessary. he’s so enmeshed in his pity-party, that he hardly notices your presence until your arm touches his.
“you’re getting better at that,” he says cheekily before pouring another glass of whiskey.
it’s not often that zoro compliments people, so you take his words seriously and cherish them. “thanks, i learn from the best.” best meaning him, obviously. not one to care about having his ego stroked by simple, sentimental statements, for some reason he’s taken aback by your words. he doesn’t even fight you when you pluck the glass out of his hand and drink deeply from it, savoring the taste of the drink, sparking a different kind of heat that envelopes you entirely.
the way he looks at you makes you finish the drink quickly, enjoying the burn and the way it brings a light dizziness over you. after learning your lesson from earlier, you place the empty glass on the counter away from your clumsy hands and scatterbrained thoughts. zoro’s eye tracks your movements, watches the way you keep playing with your hair, a nervous habit that you can’t seem to break no matter how many times you try. several words rush up the back of your throat, ready to spill and stomp all over any residual silence in the room, but, as usual, zoro acts on instinct.
he brushes his thumb against your bottom lip — once, then twice — a maddening effect that depletes all of your self-preservation.
your lips part just as he kisses you, something he’s been meaning to do for a long, long time. he’s a selfish bastard, he knows that, but he can’t help but think that you’ll allow him this one moment to be a tiny bit greedy with you. his tongue slips into your mouth candidly, caressing your tongue, a mixture of whiskey and something sweet — a pleasant surprise, one that has him kissing you again. and again. and again. arms wrapped around his neck, you return each of his kisses; ardent and a little impetuous.
his imagination pales in comparison, clearly; all those nights where he dreamed of holding you, of tasting you in this way — it’s a much more vibrant, impossibly erotic feeling. pressing your body against his, the softness obliterating the rest of his resolve, giving way to the insatiable beast that he keeps chained deep inside of him. you’ve seen glimpses of it before, so it’s unsurprising when his hands roam around, coast along your curves, and grab onto your ass. a small squeal leaves your mouth, as he leaves behind a playful kiss, his lips trailing along your jaw and landing on the side of your neck. your hips roll forward and you feel his hardened length through his pants.
a switch flips in your head, you work quickly and unfasten his pants, hand wrapping around his thick cock, twisting as you stroke him repeatedly, enjoying the moans that tumble out of his mouth and into yours as he gives you heated tongue kisses. your hand is soft around him — much different than the roughness of his — a welcomed change, one that his him craving more and more of you. it’s you who breaks the kiss again, you who gets on their knees, and you who runs your tongue flat against his cock from the base to the tip. pre-cum spills from his slit, you swipe your tongue at it, enjoying the slightly salty taste before swirling your tongue around the head of his cock.
running a hand down his face, zoro inhales deeply through his nostrils, trying to remember the last time he was this weak against the hands of another. your mouth and tongue make for a dangerous combination, coupled with the whiskey making you bolder than normal, if he’s not careful, he might fall deeper under your spell. which is all as well, he’s got you under his thumb, especially with the way his hips push forward as you open your mouth and make room for his cock. while he respects your talent as an artist, and knows that your throat is important — it’s delicate and hard-working — the way your mouth fits snugly around his girth, the way you seem so eager to take more of him, it has him acting brutish. zoro grabs a fistful of your hair, groaning quietly as he holds you steady and fucks your mouth.
slackening your jaw, you make sure to keep your teeth away as his cock slides in and out of your mouth with fervor; you can feel your arousal get the best of you as you squeeze your thighs together, your hands grabbing onto his legs to keep from falling over. he manages to shake away some of the lustful haze that took over his mind and pulls his cock out of your mouth; saliva drips down your chin, coats the length of his cock, and you inhale large gulps of air, attempting to regulate your breathing as your heart sputters, making your pulse erratic. he has the decency to look apologetic, even when he yanks you up by the arm, mouth finding yours again, placing a tender kiss against your lips.
before long, you find yourself sitting on top of the counter, shorts tugged off, panties practically in shreds thanks to that brute of a swordsman who happens to be dropping open-mouthed kisses down your throat as his thick fingers plunge in and out of your cunt, your core aching terribly as you buck your hips against his hand, mouth falling open as you moan his name loudly. he’s much too far gone to tell you to keep quiet, and you’re completely in a daze, not bothering with logic as it currently has no place in your life. not when zoro’s fingers scissor inside of you, stretching you appropriately, his tongue flicking against your skin, making your pitch shift again, letting out throaty moans as you beg him to fuck you properly.
because he simply can’t be bothered with teasing you for a prolonged period of time, zoro obliges — for both of your sake — tapping his cock against your pussy; you flinch at the sensation and he chuckles darkly, admiring your patience as he pushes his cock inside of you slowly. you wrap your legs around him, and he takes that as encouragement as he thrusts into you once, burying his cock to the hilt. the way you call out his name is enough to give him a sugar rush; your pussy clenches around him appreciatively, hips knocking against yours, your slick wetness coating the length of his cock. if he was the romantic type, he’d whisper sweet things in your ears, instead of the filthy words that he considers praise — that has you recklessly bucking your hips against his, pussy squelching loudly as his thrusts get harder.
sanji will likely have both of your heads for desecrating his kitchen like that, but zoro is beyond caring, and your thoughts, unfortunately, mirror his. maybe you’ll feel bad about it in the morning, but for now, you’re much too focused on the way he angles his hips to power into you, your toes curling as you cry out, voice hoarse as you chant keep going and don’t stop, don’t you dare stop. so when he bites your bottom lip and slams into you fervently, a flash of white passes over you, momentarily stealing your vision as an orgasm powers through you. he didn’t expect you to fall apart like this, but he’s far from complaining; in fact, he’s overly enjoying himself, and the way your pussy can’t seem to stop squeezing around him, your warm, plush walls pushing him over the edge as his thrusts get faster and his strokes get shorter.
you bite his neck and that’s all it takes to have him grabbing your hips firmly as he cums unexpectedly, fully unprepared for that level of treachery from you. he should’ve known, though, anyone with a voice that hypnotic is bound to be trouble. cum spills down your thighs, although you’re more preoccupied with catching your breath again to care about the mess.
if he ever has to confess, he’ll definitely say that you sounded just as lovely as you did when you were singing earlier. but he won’t say that, not now, anyway — because, then he’d have to admit to other things and he’s not quite ready for that yet. instead, he presses his forehead against yours, hoping to just savor this moment a little longer before returning to reality and dealing with his impulsive whims.

ASL with a Marine S/O
Tumblr media
Hi Anon! Here it is! Hope you will enjoy it, have a good time reading! ^^
Tumblr media
Ace
Oh boy, he would be so smug about it! Like I can really picture him making jokes about how he would never get caught because his s/o is in the Marine
He’d love to tease you about it too. Usually it’d have to do with you being a “bad Marine” because you’re rebelling against the system. Often asks why you don’t just become a pirate already.
Is actually scared for you to get into trouble because of your relationship though. Whenever you two see each other or call, he’ll ask you if no one is suspecting or menacing you. If you were to say yes, he’d do everything he could to protect you, even if that involves paying a visit at the Marine headquarters.
Unapologetically proud of you when you get higher in ranks. Will 100% tell everyone about it and even ask White Beard to throw a party for you the next time you visit!
Actually throws a party every time you get to visit at all because of how little you can. Luckily you are able to see Ace alone more often but dating a well known pirate is obviously risky and not easy. Despite that, the pair of you makes the best out of the situation, appreciating every second you get to spend together even more and Ace always makes sure you split with the both of you harboring a smile.
Sabo
Sabo is less smug than Ace on this, but he is equally proud and excited. Will definitely tell Dragon about your exploits, which might make him plan smth that you would be involved in. Sabo will be against it though, not wanting to risk your life and career.
Teasingly suggests you should join the Revolutionary Army every once in a while but always reminds you with a serious tone that he is just joking. He knows how much your role as Marine matters to you and would never try to force you to abandon it.
Despite his bounty, the two of you can meet up regularly. Whenever he gets the chance to make a detour on the way back from a mission just to see you, he will. The moments you spend together are still precious because neither of you knows what might happen and you still have to be careful not to be caught.
When you’re the one who gets to visit, which happens scarcely, you keep it intimate. No big parties thrown among the Revolutionaries, despite them being happy to see you. Sabo talks less about you than Ace would for instance. He prefers to keep your relationship much more private and even secret.
Despite his undeniable trust in you, he wouldn’t tell you much about his missions or what the Revolutionary Army is planning. He is too scared for the Marines to threaten or torture you for information. It goes as far as you calling him by another name over the phone. Sabo simply doesn’t want to risk anything, you are too precious for him.
Luffy
Luffy would be the one to “care” the least that you are a Marine. By that I mean that he would probably realise way less than the others what it implies for the two of you to be dating.
100% asks you to join his crew. He eventually gives up when you make him understand how important your role as a Marine is to you and tell him that you don’t need to be part of his crew to support him. He’ll still ask if you’re sure you don’t wanna join every once in a while though.
Cares very little about hiding your relationship, unless it’s important to you. Since his grandpa is also a Marine, he doesn’t see the issue with his partner being one and why they would get into trouble. If you were to mention feeling threatened however, he would kick the ass of whoever made you feel this way.
Everyone on the Sunny always welcomes you happily when you get to visit and more often than not a party is thrown. Sanji, despite not going beyond certain limits because you are his captain’s s/o, will 100% flirt with you. Meanwhile, Nami will tell you everything you might’ve missed. Despite not being officially part of the crew, you definitely feel part of the family.
Thanks to your boyfriend, you are in good terms with a certain higher ranked Marine. Every time you get to see Luffy you give him some news from Garp and do the same when you see the old man.

Reader’s Corner: Mint Chocolate, One Piece, and The Intrigues of Haruhi Suzumiya
In Another World With My Smartphone, Vol. 1 (Manga)
If you’re not familiar with this series either in its light novel or anime form, it pretty much is the epitome of the wish-fulfillment isekai with an overpowered MC and a harem of girls. Pretty much everything that can be said of the first light novel volume/first few anime episodes, good or bad, applies to the manga. The protagonist is fairly bland, his overpoweredness is rather ridiculous and pretty much removes all drama, and the titular smartphone isn’t even used that much here, with Touya solving more problems with his ability to use every kind of magic. Still, given that the story doesn’t even try to pretend like it wants to be anything serious, there is still some fun to be had with silly moments and the general feel of enjoying life in another world. As for the manga adaptation, overall it is plenty good with simple but cute art that makes good use of facial expressions, and in my opinion looks better than the anime. Although for some reason, they spelled Linze’s name as “Rinze”, in yet another case of L and R being too similar in Japanese… ~ stardf29
The In Another World With My Smartphone manga is published by Yen Press.*
The Intrigues of Haruhi Suzumiya (Haruhi Suzumiya, Vol. 7)
Time travel is complicated. Part of what draws fans to the Haruhi Suzumiya franchise is the intelligence and sense with which the franchise approaches time travel, among other science fiction elements, and in volume seven of the light novel series, it’s that device that takes center stage. The longest volume to this point, The Intrigues of Haruhi Suzumiya launches its central story in an unusual way, with Mikuru arriving in the Literary Club’s broom closet saying that she was sent from a mere eight days in the future forcefully by the one receiving her, a very confused Kyon. What ensues is one fixed story, a la Disappearance, in which the SOS Brigade and a number of side characters continue to lovingly receive the author’s expert hand in developing their growth as characters, not only personally but in revealing more of their purposes in being where they are and doing what they do. The stakes continue to be pushed higher, with some unexpected excitement and special appearances, along with the author’s crafty weaving of intricate and riddly plot points together. Another successful volume, as the time gets nearer to the physical release date of the long-awaited new novel. ~ twwk
The Intrigues of Haruhi Suzumiya is published by Yen Press.*
Mint Chocolate, Vol. 2
First of all, that cliffhanger in the last volume turned out to be a whole lot of nothing, so thanks for that. Putting that aside, this volume confirms that Kyouhei does indeed carry emotional scars from his mom’s divorce—not just from her infidelity, but also from how she had never particularly been a good wife or mother. This naturally puts some extra stress on the romance that is developing between the stepsiblings. The volume is otherwise mainly a lot of fairly typical shoujo romcom stuff, though overall, I’m still enjoying this series. Even beyond the whole intrigue of the “understandable stepsibling incest” concept, this is a story about overcoming the fear of romance that comes from a broken family, and that I can definitely appreciate. ~ stardf29
Mint Chocolate is published by Yen Press.*
One Piece, Vol. 49
I am getting close to the half-way point in my readthrough of One Piece! I recently finished volume 49, which finishes up the “Thriller Bark” arc and introduces to Brook, the skeleton musician. Thieve chapters have BIG Tim Burton vibes, and I found myself having a Danny Elfman-inspired soundtrack playing in my head as I read through it—zombies, the dead rising, stitched-together monsters, human spirits being separated from their body, and the villainous Moria at the center of it all. In addition to atmosphere, the volume provides action and some beautiful moments as the found family that are the Straw Hats unite for some amazing passages, one of the most interesting of which is when hundreds of shadows are imbued into Luffy giving him the power of 100 people and all of their battle skills. This turns him into the huge, blue Luffy monster seen on the cover. The new characters, development of old ones, and a stronger feeling of camraderie among the Straw Hats Mark volume 49, which for me, makes a successful volume. Still loving it. ~ MDMRN
One Piece is published by Viz Media, with the newest chapters simulpublished via their Shonen Jump imprint.
My Youth Romantic Comedy is Wrong, As I Expected, Vol. 4 (Manga)
Volume four of Oregairu takes an unexpected turn, diving into a pair of side stories from the light novel series that were never animated, both of which involve fan favorite Zaimokuza as he gathers help from the service club to save face with a gaming club and then when he participates in a judo tournament that Hachiman and company organize. Thus, these chapters have a heavy “club anime” feel that’s largely lacking in the anime, and which is a welcome respite for the manga, which has thus far featured a more joyful tone than the other properties. However, most distinctive in this volume is the artwork, as Naomichi Io’s detailing, particularly, has progressed considerably. Hachiman looks far better in this volume as compared to the initial one (and Zaimokuza, too), even getting a scene of fanservice (one of the best panels in the series so far, with Yui blushing as she sees Hachiman stripped down to his boxer briefs). Meanwhile, the color panels that begin the volume are equally lovely, as are some fantasy-focused panels distributed throughout. Fans of Oregairu will find the volume worth purchasing just for these pieces, and perhaps also for the first appearance of a certain character who will play a major role throughout the rest of the series (Senpaiiiiiiii). ~ Twwk
My Youth Romantic Comedy is Wrong, As I Expected is published by Yen Press.*
Your Lie in April, Vol. 9
As I continue my reread of Your Lie in April through the month of April, I’m nearing the home stretch. Volume 9 is a heavier volume than it appears at first glance. At this point, Kousei is teaching Nagi Aiza, who is the younger sister of Kousei’s rival, Takeshi Aiza. Well, sort of. Takeshi sees Kousei as his rival; however, Kousei doesn’t see it as a rivalry because as a child, he didn’t even notice anything (much less anyone) around him when he performed. A lot of other plot threads progress here, too, but a huge component of this volume is a specific focus on Nagi. She was arrogant, angry, and motivated by jealousy. Yet, by the end of the volume, she grows to respect and appreciate Kousei, music, and herself a whole lot more. That last one is key because Nagi had internalized and begun to believe the personal attacks that were said about her by her fellow students. Kousei helped her see herself as something more, as a unique individual and as a fellow traveler in the realm of music. I really appreciated this volume and the character development given to everyone. Also, everyone needs a friend like Watari. ~ MDMRN
Your Lie in April is published by Kodansha.

Hi can I ask some analysis on some of Sanji ships? ZoSan, LuSan, LawSan, SaNa, SanVio, SanPud?
Tumblr media
ZoSan: They’re basically two sides of the same coin. Though they differ from each other in some aspects, both have core traits of being monstrously powerful, fiercely competitive, and suicidally self-sacrificial. I think their deepest bond comes from sharing the pivotal position of flanking Luffy, and watching out for the crew while their captain takes out the main enemies. They may bicker with each other due to their competitive nature, but it’s mostly friendly rivalry between peers that show how close they are (and they do show agreement on really important matters). Their mutual respect and trust is almost tangible, and I think Sanji in particular deeply admires Zoro’s strength and determination. From Zoro’s perspective, I think it’s rare for someone full of pride like him to actually acknowledge a person’s power and trustworthiness to the point of having absolute confidence. He’s lucky to have Sanji who he can secretly count on to always have his back, really. And of course, the best part of their dynamics is that all of this is mostly left unsaid between them.
Tumblr media
LuSan: The ship that really needs to be reevaluated after the current arc. I don’t doubt that Luffy has equal love for all of his nakama, but Sanji’s the only one who got to hear “I can’t become Pirate King without you” from him. Also, you know just how much Luffy loves to eat, and he went as far as going on a hunger strike for the first time in his life just to get his cook back. It should also be noted that Luffy’s the person who understands Sanji best in terms of personal history. Out of the crew, only Luffy got the hear about Sanji’s experience of starvation and what Zeff and the Baratie meant to him. He was also the only person present when Sanji joined the crew, and up to now no one other than him has ever seen Sanji truly cry. In short, there are a lot of exclusive moments between them. To add on, I think Luffy could be particularly fond of Sanji in that he’s the main provider of what he loves the most: food. Sanji might call him out for bad table manners and such but I can easily imagine him always thanking Luffy for loving his cooking so much.
Tumblr media
LawSan: At first sight, what clearly ties them together is that they’re both North Blue boys. I haven’t sighted any common denominators in their past stories yet but who knows - what happened in their childhood could be connected in some way or another, given their hometowns’ relative geographic proximity. That being said, it’s interesting how traumatic incidents shaped their characters differently. Whereas Sanji still had enough resilience to maintain his childhood innocence and hope for the future to some extent despite all that he had gone through, Law was totally stripped of his humanity until Corazon went out of his way to mend him back. What resulted in this difference is debatable but it certainly is worth noting. I don’t think it’s likely that they have particular feelings for each other just because they’re both from North Blue, but it’s possible that Law regards Sanji as the most sensible and reliable Straw Hat in terms of strategic planning, since he’s the one who pointed out his flaw and reminded him the bigger picture in Dressrosa. For Sanji, Law’s probably one hell of a picky bastard who deserves to get his ass kicked for hating bread. and umeboshi XD
Tumblr media
SaNa: Be it in a platonic or romantic sense, I believe Nami holds a special place in Sanji’s heart. She’s probably the first woman he got to interact on a regular basis outside the framework of the Baratie, not to mention that the first mission he had to go through as a Straw Hat was none other than saving her from Arlong. Sanji swoons over just about any lady of course, but I think he genuinely likes Nami’s character, from her cunning nature and wildness to her bravery, kind heart and willingness to sacrifice herself for the sake of everyone else. Nami might constantly brush away Sanji’s swooning out of annoyance, but I think she was so worried about him in the current arc partly because she’s grateful for all the care he shows for her, either consciously or unconsciously. Also, it need not be said that Nami’s the person who had the best understanding of Sanji’s situation and how he must be feeling in this arc, since she had gone through same shit before and that’s when she got to know Sanji as nakama. I think she slapped him not just because he hurt Luffy, but also because she was disappointed that he thought his nakama would be stupid enough to believe his lies and actually throw him out. Anyway the development of their relationship in this arc is quite amazing and I’m definitely looking forward to more intimate moments between them.
Tumblr media
SanVio: Just like Pudding, Viola was deeply touched by Sanji’s pure and kind heart (you could say it was his chivalry that won her heart, but I think at the root of his chivalry lies his gentle caring nature). She could’ve seen more than just Sanji’s skeleton, curly eyebrows and perversion (ahem) with her eyes, like what a heart of gold he has and maybe that’s one of the reasons she thinks so highly of him? Sanji did nosebleed massively after she hugged him and all, but I think this ship is more about how Viola feels for Sanji than vise versa. Their meeting was very brief and Sanji parted with her without getting to know her all that well, but he did manage to leave a lasting powerful impression on her - enough to make her blush and smile with fondness. I have a hunch that they’re going to meet again some way or another and when they actually do reunite, Viola’s going to help out Sanji big time.

SanPud: Ah, the groom and the bride in question. If Sanji and Pudding really get married, I can imagine their relationship working out pretty well somehow. Sanji has no qualms whatsoever about marrying a three-eyed girl (not only having no qualms but he actually thinks her eye is beautiful) and he’d rejoice when teaching Pudding how to make chocolate (provided that she really does love to make it and wasn’t acting). As for Pudding, well, I think she totally fell for Sanji after he complimented her third eye so Sanji just being Sanji would be enough for her, I assume. Since they both had the traumatic experience of being abused by their own family, I think they can deepen their relationship by talking about their childhood trauma and comforting each other. Sanji in particular can give Pudding a lot of advice and assistance and maybe that would heal her twisted personality to some extent. This is all based on the assumption that they’re getting married of course, but even if they don’t it’s likely that their encounter with each other would become a lasting memory to both of them. After all, they did make each other succumb to tears, albeit on different occasions.

Will you share your life with me...? Part 4
Will you share your life with me for the next ten lifetimes?
The next months felt like heaven to Sanji, even more if he compared them to his journey in hell when the crew fell apart for the first time. Sure, he missed his crewmates (and if you asked him about Zoro, he might even change his normal expression), but he couldn’t imagine other person to live this improvised retirement with. He would wake up every day and make breakfast while he heard Nami humming happily in the morning as she watered her beloved tangerine trees. Then they both would have breakfast and talk about the smallest things, still in their pijamas. Sometimes Nojiko would appear out of nowhere and scare them both, and when that happened, Nami used to grab her sister by the shoulder and take her with her. Sometimes he heard them yell at each other, sometimes all he could hear was laughter. He didn’t understand their weird relationship, but Nami always came out fully-dressed and with a brilliant smile, looking as beautiful as always.
But sometimes, he preferred her when she was just wearing a messy bun and a large t-shirt, just like every morning. It was a strange feeling, but it felt like she was wearing something more intimate than any bikini she ever wore. Still, he couldn’t complain about those either. It was like every piece of fabric was made to be worn by her, or at least to him it was.
Some days they would go for a walk, and visit Belle-mère’s grave. Nami would tell their adventures to the wind, and he held Nami tighter when tears started to fall on her face. And although it was hard to see her breaking down, he really appreciated those moments where she let her barriers down, and she let him in. Moments like that brought them closer.
They would often visit the Baratie, and Zeff and the rest of the shitty cooks in there would always joke about giving them the table with the most romantic view. To the happy couple, they used to say. At first, Nami was the first one to deny every sign of relationship they could have (and not just to Zeff, but also to her sister, Genzo and practically everyone), but as time passed by, Nami would smile and sometimes even joke about it. He didn’t know what to think about that, either. Was she starting to have feelings for him, or was it the contrary? Could he hold his hope or should he give up already? But a man doesn’t give up, not without having tried at least a hundred times. And he preferred not to count how many times he had failed, so for him, every chance was the first one. And every time she didn’t say “no” was a little spark of hope.
By the end of the fifth month, he started to feel like luck was finally on his side. Or at least, romance was. And what else could he need? Well, if he started to think about it, he would need Genzo’s approval, but he was starting to think that he may tolerate him a bit more than at the beginning. Sure, he liked to remind him of how no man alive could deserve Nami, but he said it softly, and gave him a pat on the shoulder. And he was sure that meant something. There are moments when just a look is enough to know what the other is trying to say, and Sanji knew that this was just the same. However, he never dared to ask what exactly did Genzo mean with that: was it an encouraging gesture? Or a “good luck: you’ll need it” one? Anyway, he wasn’t going to give up. He knew that even if he would want to (which, to be clear, he didn’t), he couldn’t. He was too tangled in her orange locks, too lost in her brown orbs.
And he had Nojiko on his side, of that he was pretty sure. And as the good strategist he was, he knew that a strong ally could mean everything. In war and in love, the battlefield is a cold place, and when things are going down, it’s better to have someone cheering you up than sinking just by yourself.
One day, while he was doing laundry, he overheard one of the secret conversations between the sisters. He didn’t mean to stop and listen, but his curiosity won that battle.
“… C’mon, haven’t you seen how he looks at you?” Nojiko said, but he heard no answer from the redhead. “Yes, that’s exactly the face I’m talking about. And you know those puppy eyes don’t work on me, so you could save them and answer me.”
Sanji heard Nami pant before saying anything “Okay, I may have noticed something. But it’s nothing new, his tongue just hangs out whenever he sees a skirt, I swear.”
Wait, were they talking about him? Did she really think of him that way? And how could Nojiko not fall for Nami’s puppy eyes? Sanji had so many questions.
“Well I haven’t seen him flirting with anyone but you since he came here. And you said it yourself before, he doesn’t even flinch when a hot girl crosses the door of the Baratie. Doesn’t that mean something?”
“I only said it was weird, since he used to that and now he doesn’t!” Nami refuted, and he was sure she was holding her anger.
“Then you’re admitting I’m right, sister” Nojiko laughed, and Sanji could almost hear Nami’s body relaxing “You’re just avoiding the obvious because you are too afraid of getting hurt that you prefer to keep thinking he’s some sort of womanizer.”
“He’s not!” Nami yelled, much to Sanji’s relief. “He’s a gentleman.”
“Then where the hell is the problem? The way I see it, you two have nothing to lose. He clearly likes you, and if you allow me to say it, I think he loves you. And just by looking at your red face right now, I can tell you feel the same.” Nojiko stated.
Sanji waited for Nami’s response. He knew he should leave, but he couldn’t, not without hearing her answer.
“Fine, you win.” Nami admitted, and Sanji swore his heart skipped a beat. “I may have developed feelings for that stupid cook. So what? It’s not like anything is going to change!”
“And why not?” Nojiko asked the same thing Sanji was questioning “It’s a simple equation: him plus you equals a relationship! And me getting a beautiful bridesmaid dress at your wedding, and don’t get me started with kids, because I’m gonna be the best auntie ever!”
Wedding? Kids? Sanji couldn’t process all that information quickly enough, and when he heard the slightliest movement on the room, he ran like hell, with the bad luck of bumping into Genzo.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing? You almost kill me!” he complained, too loud for Sanji’s own good “What were you doing? Were you spying on Nami? Or worse… were you sneaking out of her room?!”
“No, sir, I’m sorry but I…” Sanji started to apologize, even though it wouldn’t matter, because Genzo only believed what he wanted to believe.
“This is how you pay me for everything I did for you? I let you in my village, I let you in this house, and you can’t show a minimum of decency?!”
“Actually, I was just running to make you three a snack, if that’s okay” Sanji lied, trying to sound convincing. The last thing he needed right now was Genzo doing another one of his solo shows.
“Oh, okay. That’s… That’s really thoughtful of you, young man.” Genzo said, and let him go.
Just as Sanji was walking out on his way to the kitchen (because he now had to prepare three snacks before Genzo suspected a thing), Genzo called his name. He turned back, just to see him smiling.
“Good luck with that, by the way.” He said with a wink, before disappearing.
“What the hell does that mean?” Sanji thought. Was he talking about him and Nami? No, he couldn’t… But what if he had? He didn’t need luck, though. He needed a plan. His eyes were the very image of hope, and he couldn’t believe his luck: Nami, his Nami, his redhead goddess, liked him. And not like she liked Luffy, or Usopp, or the marimo. She like liked him. But there was no time to lose, he needed to act before it was too late. He took his Den-den mushi and called the Baratie.
“Welcome to the Baratie. What can I offer you?” a monotone voice said.
“Shitty old man, you better save me the best table for two you have!” Sanji said happily.
“That lady finally settled for you? I pity her” the voice responded, with a laugh. If Sanji didn’t know Zeff like he did, he may have thought he was insulting him, but he knew that deep down he was smiling. He knew that he was proud.
“I will need you to prepare the most romantic ambiance you can. Don’t skim on it! After all, it’s not every day when your little eggplant gets to declare to the love of his life.”
“Actually, it is! You have been swooning over her the moment she walked in the first place. But don’t worry, we’ve got it all covered here, son. Now, what should we put on the menu?”
“Nami-san’s favorite dishes, of course. I lend you a list the last time, you should have it on the kitchen. Also, I need a fruit salad to be the final dish. It’s a tradition.”
When Sanji told her he had booked up a reservation in the Baratie, and that everything was set up for dinner, Nami felt confused. She didn’t remember having agreed on going to dinner that soon again. However, she didn’t complain. The Baratie meant free exquisite food and a big smile on Sanji’s face, and even if she wouldn’t admit it, she couldn’t say no to that happiness he radiated when he walked in that restaurant. She guessed it would happen the same with her and Cocoyashi, right? And they were here a whole lot more than in there, so it wasn’t fair.
Nami’s concern grew stronger the closer they got to the floating restaurant. They took a little ship, as always, but when Nami grabbed the helm, Sanji didn’t even mutter something about doing it himself, like he usually did. He seemed off. Was something wrong? She couldn’t help but worry, although his expression wasn’t tense at  all. Maybe he had something important to discuss with Zeff? Whatever it was, she didn’t feel like interfering. After all, he never did it when she was talking with her sister, and she appreciated that. That allowed them to have conversations like the last one… Her face turned red while thinking about it. How embarrassing would it have been? She almost admitted she liked him! Nami tugged her dress. Her sister convinced her to wear it just in case it was a date, and she ended up doing what she said. Of course it wasn’t a date, but if it was, she admitted she wouldn’t have said no. And that was enough for her sister to swing around the house like crazy, apparently.
Finally, they arrived to the Baratie. Sanji took her hand and drove her headfirst. He had been practicing his speech in his head during the run, but he couldn’t remember a single word now. He breathed heavily, trying not to panic.
“You can do this” he whispered to himself.
“Do what?” Nami asked him. He always forgot her sensitive hearing, didn’t he? Luckily, Zeff welcomed her and lead her to their table. Sanji had to admit the work was impeccable, and Nami’s smile was so wide he almost felt his heart melting. God, that woman could really bring him down without even muttering a single word.
“What is this?” Nami asked Zeff, her eyes examining every slight change of the restaurant. “It’s not Valentine’s Day, is it?”
She pointed at the table, filled with rose petals.
“Just sit down, miss” Zeff responded with a smile “Your meal will be served in a minute.”
Zeff gave a little tap in the shoulder to Sanji as he headed to the kitchen.  That was it. It was time.
“Sanji-kun…” Nami called his name, before he could say a word “What is going on? Is this because of Usopp?”
Usopp? Why would it be about Usopp? His face had to look like a puzzle, because Nami laughed and explained herself.
“It turns out our friend Usopp got engaged with her childhood crush just a few hours ago. I thought he told you.”
Usopp, engaged? Sanji couldn’t believe. Him, out of all people, the first one to get married! And there was him, who still couldn’t confess his feelings properly to the woman she loved, even though she was standing right next to him.
“No” he managed to say “I didn’t know about Usopp, and this is definitively not about him. This is all because of you. Listen, I… I don’t even know how to start to tell you how much you mean for me. You’re gorgeous, you’re witty, you’re everything I try to tell you when you roll your eyes; but you tend to ignore me, and don’t get me wrong, because I know I can be a little annoying, but that’s just my way to be perseverant. Because I do know one thing: You don’t give up on the things you love. And I’ve never loved anyone as much I love you.”
Nami opened her mouth to speak, but Sanji kept going.
“And I guess I never thought I actually had a chance with you, so I stuck with our friendship. I thought that would be enough, because it was the only thing I aspired to. But then… And please don’t get to angry at me right now because I know Zeff is probably looking at us and I don’t want him to see it, but I kind of heard a piece of conversation you had with your sister, so I’m sorry for that. But I can’t apologize for what I heard, because it made me feel like the luckiest man alive. I guess what I’m trying to say is… Will you share your life with me for the next ten lifetimes?”
After his speech, Nami was a complete mess. She felt angry because she spied on them, she was also embarrassed for what he heard, but she was… Happy. Like, extremely happy. And relieved. Since he asked her out, now she didn’t have to do it herself.
“I think I can handle that” Nami responded, grabbing him by the tie and pushing him closer to her. She was so close she could feel his heart beating really fast, his heavy breathing right next to hers. She saw excitement in his eyes, and she stepped even closer. So close their lips were almost touching. But she decided that wasn’t close enough, so she kissed him. It was slow but passionate for her, and simply perfect for him.
“So how much is it to share our lifes for not one, but ten lifetimes?” she asked when they distanced.
“Just as much as you want it to be” he said, stepping closer once again.
Ohmygod I can’t believe this series is finally over. Part 4 was longer than I expected, but I hope I didn’t dissapoint you. I’m gonna miss these two like crazy, so I’ll probably start another fic right away.
Thank you for the lovely comments throughout this project, and of course, for reading it! ♥
