Like deruth has to make the first step and i want the angst of them finding out it was an act before cale attempts to let the act go can you tell more?

YES DEFINITELY

So a lot of fics have cale making the first step to make amends with his family which honestly? Realistic. I have never in real life experienced a parent actually owning up to their mistakes and taking the first step to apologize and be better its always the (often teen or adult at that point) child who makes that first step in my experience

And i think in canon it would probably be og cale trying to make amends as well, so i honestly read fics like this happily anyway

But in an ideal world parents take responsibility for their actions and try to be better for their kids! While deruth obviously loves and cares for cale he shows it in a very roundabout way (like making his servants report on what cale has been up to). I imagine this is more normal in a noble household instead of a normal household. However theyve very obviously just been waiting for cale to get better on his own instead of actually doing anything, while not knowing that it would never stop bc its largely an act and cale acts like that on purpose to help his siblings and stepmom

Im rambling at this point so im just gonna outline what in my eyes would be the perfect progression for cale and deruths relationship (and by extension the rest of the henituse family):

- somethinh happens that makes deruth try to sort of talk to cale (fuck if i know what, maybe its a situation where cale regressed and got ancient powers and has been throwing up blood like krs!cale, maybe cale went to an event where he caught the attention of someone dangerous like adin)

- cale is like “what the fuck my father is actually talking to me. What does this mean”

- somehow after a while of deruth trying to be more of a parent, lily and basen taking this as a chance to try and get closer with cale, and cale just being confused and feeling like a fish out of water, they find out about him faking the trash behavior

- idk how, maybe he just hinted at some things being the way they are bc of reasons to lily or whatever not thinking much would come from it??

- but yea they find out and theyre *not* happy bc cale has been doing this self sacrificial self destructive act on his own for ten years now and they want him to actually be happy

- cale at hearing that goes shocked pikachu face

- “oh i care abt my family but i didnt expect them to care about me back” 💀

- he does NOT wanna let the trash act go bc he thinks if he stops the vassals will just be pieces of shit again and it also a deterrent against gossip abt his family in general (hes also a depressed little fuck who thinks he doesnt fit in with the family, who thinks he deserves the scorn a little and who likes some of the benefits the act gave him (he also doesnt rlly know who else to be hashtag identity crisis))

- family is determined tho bc their boy just spent 10 years being self destructive like this while hiding that he really loved them ALL THIS TIME and they wanna show him they wanna spend time with him and that they love him back

- shit can still get a little tense sometimes, just bc of the baggage between deruth and cale and also just bc recovery isnt lineair and in really bad situations like for example the vassals making a really shit move cale would def put himself in the line of fire in a heartbeat and do smth trashy again

- i would love to see eric wheelsmans face when he finds out cale was faking it this whole time, man has been trying to stage interventions and shit while cale was doing it on purpose

SK is the child of a woman named Maria. little is known about her, except that she lives in a pocket dimension with nothing in it but a house, with no one populating it but herself, her daughter, and a beta fish.

maria tends to disappear “for work” for MONTHS at a time, leaving SK completely alone (other than the fish). SK is also not allowed to leave the house. because of this, they are EXTREMELY lonely, and know basically nothing about the real world.

Luckily, SK’s house loves them. It helps them. it gives them what they want. what they wish.They can ask for objects, and it will give it to them. They can ask favors, and it will try its best to grant them.

But SK is very, very lonely.

So the biggest wish sk has is a family, is friends, like the ones they see on TV. like the ones people sing about in their CDs.

The house..cant give them that. but it tries its best.

So SK has the ability to let someone, ANYONE, visit the house for one night only, a desperate attempt at making friends. A childish dream, to make friends, family, in one night. a Sleepover.

SK doesnt understand the real world. all the knowledge of the outside world they have is silly media from the 2000s. Miley Cyrus’s disney era and the spongebob movie can only teach you so much. so when someone “sleeps over”, they just kinda..replicate what they see on tv? makeovers, truth or dare, wacky hijinks, teen magazines, thats all they know.

as for their appearance, they look like that bc thats what they WANT to look like. they imagine themself with cool demon features because they think it looks cool, so thats just..what they look like. their eye is half shut bc they were just born that way! no cool story, no trauma or drama, they were just born w ptosis :]

as for why theyre called SK, and not like. a real actual name, they DO have a name! a normal person name! they just hate it so genuinely much theyd rather be called LITERALLY anything else. SK is what their kind of. offical nickname is, but in canon they will literally go by ANYTHING but their birth name. a normal name that isnt the one they were born with, to like. the name of a type of bread. call them Minecraft Creeper they dont care!! they dont know what a creeper is but theyll still love the nickname :]

They have 2 main storylines, one canon and one not, but thats gonna make this post WAYY too long saur i wont talk abt that unless someone asks !

but yea TLDR: sk is a lonely little weirdgirl whos house is magic and gives them cool stuff which is great bc theyre not allowed to leave . their eye looks like that bc they have ptosis. YIPPEE!! also if sk were real or you existed in their world they would love you right back. YIPPEE!!

They are all vibing and talking when Remus says that Halloween is right around the corner and if theyre gonna do something that day as a group.

And everyone goes "OBVIOUSLY" but when Remus asks "Ok then what are the plans bc i for once dont have anything" all of them stay quiet and look horrified bc they dont know what to do

So they start brainstorming

Dee points out that theres a horror movie coming out on Halloween and shows them the trailer and it DOES look like a cool movie even Roman is interested

But then Patton goes "Hhhhh i mean it does look cool but..." and makes this face of dislike

Dee goes "You????? Not being excited about a horror movie??? who the fuck are you and what have you done to Patton"

hi ty for asking me im vibrating. havent gotten to talk about this au now for three years and now that chapter 2 is like real and this time i can like........draw occasionally and i have more understanding of nuance...... [grips table] [screams]

this isnt quite what you asked but heres what's everyone from chapter 1 has been Up To with a little bit of context (and under a read more bc it got LENGTHY):

kris - professional stay at home teen (they live w/ asgore n help run the flower shop sometimes. this decision was entirely bc i dont like toriel). was wrongly diagnosed w Sudden Soul Rejection when they were incredibly young and given an experimental transplanted soul as a replacement. it works for them fine, give or take having to see gaster once a month for checkups. but sometimes the soul makes them skittish n decides they're going to sit in front of the pc and play 30 consecutive hours of a certain simulation game and not even let them drown people in the pool. if it were entirely up to them, they'd be like. passing out on the sofa to documentaries about bigfoot. or practicing cool knife tricks to impress their friends at their next tabletop meetup

- EDITED IN: the soul is kind of their friend. they are wearing a hypothetical get along shirt. most of the time, they agree on actions and things to do. tends to refer to themself + their soul as we/us which originally was just something they did in their head but they kept slipping in speech/text n just became a Thing of how they talk. switches to 'I/Me' whenever smth is wrong.

- also edited in: they believe the soul they have is their original soul bc nobody has told them otherwise. whenever theyre like 'oh yeah we think about our soul n view it as a separate entity to us like. all the time. it likes to hurt if we make too many choices it doesn't seem to like and kind of forces us to be a toned down version of what we want to be but thats just how souls are haha' and everyone is like.... 'Hey Kris That's Really Not How It Is.' theyre like. 'huh. gonna ignore that for now' - this was going to be a plot point

toriel - head of H0MEWOR1D (H01)'s department of education; kind of lost her roots as a simple math teacher as she was pushed into a lot of power she didn't even really seek out. divorced asgore over some miscommunications in their relationship; also loosely as a result of grief from asriel's death

asgore - the same. runs a lil flower/gift shop. people come in more to talk with him than to buy flowers most of the time, though

asriel Flowey - he's back in flower form, thanks to the government an accident. causes a lot of technology glitches wherever he goes, and wants revenge. isn't sure how to go about it. asriel "died" around 8 years before the story takes place and kris still misses him and refuses to even THINK about even the IDEA of calling someone their sibling after what happened, just in case it somehow happens a second time

susie - more of the same really. she spends most of her time either at grillby's (she's sort of become his assistant n helps with opening/closing. it just happened) or getting into low-stakes trouble w/ kris

noelle - she's in the city's equivalent of college and shes so tired. shes So Abysmally Tired n got kinda pushed 2 follow in her mom's footsteps. she's rarely around anymore except through text or on monsters & mages (dnd) night. (however.........she will come back w/ a long break n hang out w everyone again)

berdly - tbh i didnt even consider berdly when i made the au initially. idk what he's doing. probably in a similar situation to noelle??? canonically got kicked out of the M&M group due to clashes w/ other players but lurks in their group chat to posts memes sometimes

didnt rly think of any other of kris' classmates (+ their families) after ch1 and probably will continue to not, until chs 3-5 come out and i gotta whip up roles and histories for like. a lotta guys all of a sudden. i also forgot about noelle's parents

sans - runs a convenience store that everyone kind of thinks is a front, but also it has really cheap snacks and the local teens make a point of stopping there after school. so essentially, more of the same papyrus - similar to ut. is a very polite and sweet boy but you'll know when he's coming

grillby - he's back. he runs a bar like back in ut but the cozy vibes and weird-for-a-bar hours keep attracting kids who need parents, so half of his menu is comprised of overly sweet mocktails. usually only frequented by monsters

QC - same as usual. has a "rivalry" with grillbz but, theyre besties and have a book club

mettaton - he's real and he's back. he's similar to how he is back in ut w/ his EX body. likes to hang out at grillby's and talk to unsuspecting fans. has a show for everything

napstablook - similar to how they are in ut. helps mtt with making music sometimes. doesn't leave the house too often, but spends a lot of time posting on undernet

undyne - unfortunately. more of the same. she is a cop in the monster district. i am also upset by this but couldn't think of anything better for her

alphys - a doctor studying under dr. gaster in the hopes she'll one day take over his research. she spends most of her time as a nurse with a bigger title, though, and blocks out the weirdness of her job with anime.

gaster - weird guy. H01's top soul researcher and resident House wannabe. trying to manufacture the ultimate soul that can be controlled with simple internal switches, but so far he's only had 1 (very limited) success with a certain human. monsters just melt, and darkners just sorta......get weird... he's onto Something, though.

ralsei - lonely boy with some very strange hobbies. popular on UnderNet for poetry, baking videos, and general cryptid vibe. is the DM for the monsters & mages group (also seems to think everything is actually very fine in H01 when it is very much not)

lancer - about the same. professional Round Boy. lives w/ rouxls full time. follows susie around like a lost puppy and calls himself her "underling."

rouxls - runs a hotel/casino kind of deal where the objective Bad Guys hang out, and usually ends up doing any of the spade king's paperwork.

spade king - mafia godfather. kind of a dick. don't play cards with him

seam - works with the spade king as his right hand cat more or less because they have for a lot of years and are in that 'sunk cost fallacy' zone. thinks of retiring to a quiet life in the monster section of town like, daily

jevil - used to work with the spade king, but got imprisoned for Crimes. got weird after The Accident (separate from asriel's accident)

temmies (all) - dont really get mentioned except offhandedly but they run the monster space station. so far, are the only monsters who have ever been to space.

as far as chapter 2 goes:

yeah i dont have much so far for characters. in the original version of the au i accidentally made darkners as a whole just kinda..... not great? like all sorts of weird organized crime ties n sort of going out of their way to be A Problem to the city (not even in like. a revolution way. in a working against them but with the same goals kinda way). with the whole context it worked At The Time, bc i just had the spade king to look to as a villain, and also in this au the darkners are just trying to survive a world that ultimately was not built for them (that humans think they own, and monsters sort of... seeing this and wondering what it'll mean for them whichever one wins), but w/ new info abt how the dark world works n more guys to work with i want to kind of. edit the vibe a bit. like yea darkners will ultimately do whatever it takes to take over H01, but maybe in a better way than like. idk. all this. it doesnt have to be peaceful or anything it just has to be more adaptable as we meet more kinds of darkners

however yeah i thought up 'queen as some sort of childless mommy blogger/influencer' and that completely revived all memory i had of this au. she should be on mtt's talkshow. also she sells collectible wine glasses w/ her likeness

spamton is another one of gaster's failed soul experiments, but he hasn't melted yet, and seems............fine? sort of. so he hasn't gotten decommissioned yet. he does want to give you malware tho. hot monster singles in your area n all that

Paranoia, decorating for halloween bc "oh I'm sorry it's just the *sniffles * homesickness and we a l w a y s decorated for halloween" knowing full well all of his decorations are spider and witch themed bc they all like the salem witch trials

He leaves ONE fake snake in romans cereal and the lights just. Lose it. Hes kicked back into the subconscious to be chaotic with his kids, no new side, just the hours upon hours of film hes gotten from the bugs hed placed around the unconscious and a plan for the next several movie nights

He gets back and honesty is w h e e z i n g bc he was watching through the cracks and they make a fail compilation of the light sides

It takes like two months for the lights to just go insane with him around not due to yknow paranoia but bc hes such a gremlin

Patton asks if he was raised by wolves and he shoves mr sparkles at patton saying "take the issue of how I was raised up with my father, a-hole!!"

He doesnt actually curse he just yells "A-HOLE" so loud his kids can hear

They dont find out he's a dad until hes summoned and hes making cookies or smt with the kids and hes in a bright orange stereotypical witch outfit,,, corset and all and an apron that says "worlds most chaotic dad" on the front

And hes talking to one of the kids like "duke you can only put dish soap in your batch nesty cant digest it like you can"

Patton has an apron that says worlds least chaotic 'dad' courtesy of paranoia he made it himself(read: he stole pattons good apron and scribbled over it in sharpie)

Paranoia is always close to cackling when around the lights bc theyre newbs to any chaos

Roman and remus are twins but roman is the kind of kid to promptly forget abt anyone and logan n patton knew remus less than a day before he "disappeared" aka ran to the subconscious to explore and theyve just kinda blocked him out

Logans fine with it and actually likes the decorations tho he has asked if they had to be so brightly coloured and if there had to be so much glitter

I say decorations but hes a secret gremlin at heart and is super close to snickering at all times bc of the pranks

Also yes paranoia mildly dads roman it's great but he dads in an older sibling type way

So pat and logan are all "hes fitting in as an older brother well" and they tell him abt their approval of his older brother chaos and hes just like "no this is how I am deal with it nothing to do with brothers" bc hes not telling them abt his kids he doesnt trust them

Hes up at like midnight complaining with logan abt how patton doesnt let him be full chaos gremlin and logan says "mmmhmm did your parents in the dark side let you go wild with the chaos" and paranoia just,,,,, looks at him, dead in the eyes, and says "I dont have parents"

Cue logan being confusion

Paranoia, who genuinely didn't have parents: my parents are mr sparkles and the cat we've had for my entire life

Logan, who doesnt know they had a cat and is now worried bc "are you taking care of it???": ???

Paranoia: it's great for keeping the Others in line tho I just say "do your chores or no snuggle time with ms peregrin" and they do their chores while I'm making dinner

Paranoia: yeah theyre dumb but it's the level of dumb youd expect from my idiots

Or he slips up and refers to them as his children/kids and logan, not realizing they have an Actual Father/Sons relationship/age difference(paranoias abt.late 20s early 30s, remus defies all logic and has been about 9-10 for a few years now, and dees like early teens) just says "huh how.interesting would it be to have to deal with people your age that immature" and paranoias just. "Y e a h t h e y r e t o t a l l y t h e s a m e a g e a s I a m"

Duke is very much baby and upon seeing duke eating glue paranoia and honesty the idiots decided to try it too

theyre so dumb dsdhdhdhjsdh

They AREEE and paranoia, after discovering that duke has the h a r d i e s t immune system they decide to test exactly what he can and cannot safely eat bc he may be dumb but hes also def a Dad and he just wants to take care of his kids and if that includes making sure that duke can safely consume toilet bleach then so be it

Duke can eat almost anything short of actual cyanide but cyanide just makes him sick like stomach bug sick

He somehow gets a fever,,,,, he has it for like half an hour and paranoia is amazed

Hes in bed,,,,, paranoia makes him soup,,,,,, hes all better and running around again

It's a nice system for making chaos but keeping it manageable

They're all printed then the last one's scrawled in glitter gel pen and duke wrote a reply that said (I'm sorry yall dont have as good an immune system as I do)

There was a whole passive aggressive arguement on the bulletin for the next week before it got taken down to make room for dukes art

They eventually started just putting them up over each other and using magnets instead of thumbtacks

The entire bottom portion of the walls are painted in chalkboard paint so theres no unerasable drawing on the walls and the rest of the paint is magnetic so they can hang pieces everywhere

Dukes improving rapidly tho and doesnt like looking at his old art all the time so paranoia holds onto the drawings in several filing cabinets in case he ever wants to do redraws or needs his original prints to make something in the Imagination

anyway um on a less edgy note.........as for their backstories.....kobra n party grew up in the city definitely 🤨 no ones sure who stopped taking the pills first the memories are so fuzzy......what they both DO remember is doing hurried things at night like chopping all kobras hair and running as fast as they could into the desert and hiding out till they were found by dr d. i love their dynamic like yeas. party is an annoying whiny bitch who cries and is heartbroken easily and kobra is the human embodiment of B| but they love each other very much.......party holds kobra close when he cries and vise versa and kobra will never forget the things party did to make him feel so safe bc listen. that is their babie brother. they would die for him. kobra is so fragile at first like he'd never admit it but oh.....the way his voice shook when he told party hes a boy n im not going to touch on that for tht long bc that's embarrassing hiiii but kobra is So trans. look at him and tell me that is Not a transmasc as fuck guy. it goes over well tho bc party lives breathes and dies for kobra and their gender is also yes heheheh....... anyway theyre both found by jet and pony one day and dr d kinda takes em in.......theyre v v wary at first n party kind of glares at everyone the whole time and if they get too close to kobra they will Be Violent and kobra just sits very still the whole time but eventually they warm up and become all alive blah bla bla <3

oh and ghoulll yeassss this bitch........ghoul is also desertborn but hes been on his own for a while.......kobra n party were found pretty early on by show pony n co. but ghoul wasnt found until they were abttttt.........15 or so? and God they were absolutely feral still is but he Bit. so much. he hissed and everything. he just sat in the corner glaring at everyone it took quite a bit of time to actually get him to open up......and he was so paranoid theyd throw him out if he fucked up.....he knocks something off dr d's desk and they find him hiding and crying somewhere and they all hug him and tell him its okay and hes like What.......its more of a subconscious fear now he trusts the others w his life n stuff but like...deep down yknow....anyway he still bites it's mostly to piss off kobra their relationship is.....fun. ghoul brings home wild animals and growls if he wants and kobra is like Die. kobra lives to piss off ghoul oh my god every chance he gets he takes a jab at him pls....ghouls like look at this tiny little bitch i found while holding up a mouse and kobra is like thats what we said when we found you and ghouls like BITCH. n um.....last one the GIRLLLLL HELLOOOOOOO.....shes what really solidifies the team tbh like they were starting to really bond and work together she really clicked them all in place they lover her so much oh my god......they all try to give her the childhood they could never have and it's their worst fear soemthing will happen to her or them and they wont be around for her anymore esp party they lie awake thinking about what would happen......and ghoul always tells him theyre all doing the best they can for her and shes clearly happy but still they're so scared.......dr d tells them theyre proud of how theyve raised her and they cry omg......and ALSO. another epic kyrslee hc is that the girl is actually closest w kobra. he takes her out on the motorcycle all the time [he makes her wear the helmet dw] nd shes the only one allowed to call him silly nicknames like kitty or whatever......ghoul tries it and kobra maims him <3 kobra is like here ill kiss ur scrape better and ghouls like wheres my kiss tf.....and kobra covers the girls ears and is like whores dont get kisses. and ghoul is so mad......partys like ill kiss u :] and ghouls like No. Ur Goddam Brother Better Give Me My Fucing Smooch. but yea the girl is their babie they LOVE HER........jet teaches her [and ghoul] to read and it's very sweet and party let's her paint and draw on the walls and compliments her and sticks her drawings up everywhere......they renovated the pantry to be her little room but soemtimes she sleeps in one of their rooms yknow she loves them.....n they lvoe her i cry........

here!! a mix of both. check out my utsuro tag bc - i have some posts u may like feat. possible utsuro development in a post abt kinjomae + a post with what i think his childhood was like!!! also a reminder that these are all just my takes and 90% of the time i've discussed them before and i'm not including all i've said on this subject in this post, also i have pretty solid reasons as to why u shouldn't repost/vague me based off this post in one of my extra pages :D

so for some more thoughts on him, feat. no i am not self projecting!

1) utsuro 🤝 hibiki

both are shown in two extremely different states of mind with different personalities and amnesia between the two identities, feat. one being unaware of the others existence, and a change in identity can be caused when one identity is reminded of a traumatic memory,,,

i'm not saying utsuro with did but utsuro with did rights

2) yea the did thing is probably bc all i do is go "actually this character has did but still - utsuro probably has some sort of dissociative disorder/condition

at the very least, he has some sort of issue with chronic dissociation, if we stick with all canon explanations, possibly depersonalization/derealization disorder? this would explain how generally detached and unresponsive he is.

akane: hey utsuro i know we're both in a really bad place emotionally/mentally but i really need some form of help/comfort rn if u can

3) or utsuro to really like. get redeemed, beyond general redemption needs/in order to get to a place mentally where he can make those steps for redemption, he's really gonna need therapy, and i feel like if he had gotten that help, he actually really could've grown

utsuro was just another traumatized, suicidal teen who somehow got manipulated into working for junko. it doesn't excuse what he's done, but it does mean he has more of a shot at redemption. he mistreated akane, yes, but isn't that a result of his general emotional detachment? and since his emotional detachment was a result of trauma, it's really just that utsuro was too traumatized to help her emotionally.

akane was searching for support in a person who helped her, but he wasn't able to provide it. it's neither of their faults, and akane was clearly damaged by that + utsuro likely was too. i don't wanna go full on analysis here, but if anyone sends in another ask, i,, kinda want to. anyways - utsuro shouldn't be held at fault for not offering emotional support he never said he could provide. he should be held accountable for his actions, and encouraged to grow and change. what he needs in order to do that is therapy, and a support system that isn't there for him bc of his luck, but because they care about him.

anyways! i have more thoughts but i'm just gonna go do some headcanons now!

•also. a lot of libraries are probably vv nice for a homeless kid, even if utsuro does have a divine luck, it's just a place that's available to him even without his luck, so he could pretend to b normal

•the result tho: he read all the classics that are carried in most libraries very early on.

•!! utsuro also likes choose ur own adventure games for a similar reason

•in the real world, he'll automatically get whatever goal they're working towards, the person he's crushing on will like him back, etc

•but in games? his luck can't change the code, he actually has to work and be sure he makes the right decision for everyone, which is nice

•he does Not understand how all of these people he accidentally helps keep finishing him

•like he finds forums that's just tons of people talking abt miracles happening to them and seeing utsuro and he's just "???"

•he hears abt someone saying he saved them from a burning orphanage and he's vv confused because "oh... i.... might remember that??? like being in some building,,, i think i was meant to stay the night there and it caught on fire maybe?????? but 90% of it collapsed, only the area i was in didnt crumble, i think i would've noticed someone else there"

•also. who just decided to talk abt seeing a ten year old kid when some terrible misfortune was narrowly avoided and how did it turn into a thing. like who was reading that story and went "oh i went through something just like that!!"

•he is very confused and doesn't remember 60% of what's being brought up here, and the other 35% he only vaguely thinks might've happened

•utsuro exits the forum page, goes off along his day, and then just forgets all about it.

like u spend ur life just vibing how you wanna not suspecting anything is amiss while being told ‘wtf stop doing that thats fuckin weird’ by your peers, and most likely being told ‘dont worry thats normal’ (or usually just outright having your struggles ignored) by doctors/family, and you get to just sit around wondering whats wrong w/ you until you finally find out ur nd just to get mocked for not understanding at that point in ur life whats actually considered ‘normal’ and whats ‘weird’??? bro besides the fact that literally, how are they supposed to Instantly know in what specific aspects your life differs from theirs when their own life is the only one theyve ever lived, but also.... ofc they wanna believe everything is a symptom. when ur not used to having ppl on your side, and then you suddenly have a community, you’re gonna feel safer and more comfortable putting all your eggs in that basket instead.

casey jones has become Feral and i cant stop thinking abt him

here’s some facx abt him i’ve come up with and also maybe some plot points abt how his debut episode would go

so in casey’s debut episode leo met casey first when leo joined a street wrestling tournament for some cash and he has to fight the ‘little reaper’ who’s gimmick is being very fast and racking up points and then being evasive and avoiding being pinned to run out the clock and win matches but (with some help (idk maybe donnie is there coaching him (he finally got to be hype man,,,))) leo ends up figuring out his pattern and beats him but he beats him TOO good and breaks his arm (casey breaks his bones gag starts here) and after the match he feels bad and tries to give casey the money he won for it while casey is taking off his dope ass grim reaper cosplay with his hockey mask painted to look like a skull and he takes it off and oh my god casey looks?? like That?? that violent little weasel looks like This?,??? and casey at this point is a less open more gruff and distant character so he doesn’t take the money and just Tensely congratulates leo on the win and then skates off while leo has (implied) heart eyes . end of episode

the next time they see casey is everyone all together and little reaper is doinf vigilantism and stealing all their Missions by getting there first and eventually they stop him and leo’s like Oh wait i know this guy!!! and casey’s like ??? neon leon?? you’re really committed to this whole turtle costume thing huh,,, you and your gang. anyways over the course or the episode they run into an actually dangerous mission and they can’t get casey to like, Scoot, so he fights the bad guy who turns out to be a mutant in disguise and casey is genuinely shocked bc he had NO clue. and then he puts the pieces together and realizes that the turtles aren’t in costumes they’re Turtles. Suddenly he thinks they’re very cool!!!! he stops mid fight to work that out and tell them he thinks they’re cool and then he gets body checked by rubble and gets his ribs bruised (casey breaks his bones!) end of episode is casey skating home and giving them his number so they can hang out again soon bc like Hell hes gonna lose touch with super cool mutant turtle ninja teens????

anywho tidbits

he’s gay and trans

he lives alone in a shitty apartment and pays for it under the table, since he’s friendly with the landlord it’s pretty cheap and he does what he can to fix it up when he’s not being a lazy son of a fuck. he also works rly dangerous under the table jobs but they pay well so he actually has a lot of free time

not enough free time to go to school tho lmfaooooo what he look like. it’s fine tho he don’t need no education

he never goes into why exactly he’s living alone but he mentions in an emo ass episode about love and family and friends or whatever that he left home bc he doesn’t care for his family and would rather be alone

end of that emo episode is the turtles and april telling him that they consider casey part of their family and they give him a big hug and he cries like a little bitch but he tells them he loves them bc he Do 😭😭😭

once they gain his trust he’s the most stupid son of a bitch,

hangs out with leo WAYYY too much bc they have a lot in common and also leo keeps trying to impress casey and they end up in trouble for it bc they’re Terrible influences on each other

the only time he’s ever seen in-show without skates on is when the turtles show up at his apartment to cause problems and he Just got out of bed so he’s wearing flip flops . once the episode kicks into high gear he puts his skates back on

hunter x hunter thotz so far

soooo ruth and i started watching hunter x hunter woohoo finally! we’re like 10 or so eps in so i decided to collect some thots below on what i think so far (i havent rlly been spoiled so im interested to look back on this once ive watched more)

first off i love gon sm, hes immediately so endearing...hes just a baby!!!! just a little baby boy!!!! hes just so cute and good, im so not ready for him to get put thru the wringer later on as ive vaguely heard happens

the first few episodes were really fast paced which i enjoyed and thought was for the best. the characters came thru really strongly and i feel like we heard juuuust enough about the setting, premise, and what a hunter is

i wasnt expecting leorio and kurapika to show up in the FIRST EP lmao that surprised me. i love so much how the three of them like IMMEDIATELY became a family unit in like 3 eps lmaoooo it was like ok here are 2 parents and their son bam. also leorio and kurapika having a showdown on the boat (which didnt end up happening) was a wild ride

i have like zero fucking idea what a hunter is and the more they attempt to explain the more confused i get. its honestly kind of hilarious how little sense it makes. to be clear this doesnt detract from my enjoyment of the show at all (if anything it adds to it)

oh my god fuckgin hisoka is the worst he hasnt done much but i hate him so much already. good villain writing/design so far, hes so hateable

ruth every time hisoka shows up: WE HATE UR PUSSY BIIIITCH

the character design in this show is....a lot lmao. ruth and i decided its a cross between soul eater, jojo, and one piece in terms of aesthetic. the designs are certainly unique and so many of them are just so ugly hvbjafdbdskgs it reminds me of that post thats like ‘masterpost of jojo characters who look busted as shit’ lmao

i already love this show a lot tbh like the way its structured so far has been kinda atypical for a shounen, at least in terms of fights - we really havent seen a lot of fighting yet. also nen hasnt shown up yet and its reminding me of stands not becoming a thing in jojo until p3 lmao

anyways in litrally ep1 i already loved the 3 main characters we saw...leorio is a wild dude, i love him sm, especially as a fellow medical binch who wants MONEY. like, thats literally me. and kurapika is also wild, like damn they rlly just dropped their backstory in ep 1 huh. like we rlly are jumping right into this

also when leorio said he was a teenager i was like WHAT???? just like evryone else which YEA omfg. i cant believe hes that young lmao. kurapika too

so leorio is one of those 19 yr olds who looks 40 and kurapika is the type of teen who looks like a 12 yr old

and KILLUA i love him sm also....hes an adorable assassin catboy and hes perfect. i love how quickly he and gon hit it off (tiny bfs.....) and how hes just like, this extra as hell 12 yr old with a SKATEBOARD and ASSASSIN SKILLS and then he sees gon and is like guess im gonna fall in love

i gotta talk abt gon again i just love him. hes so polite and cute and kind and good, i just love him...wht a good protag. his motivation is just wild too, hes like well my dad abandoned me to go off and be a hunter (which he isnt even mad abt, what a nice lad) so im gonna do that to see what the deal is

i love how gon (just like the audience) doesnt really know what a hunter does/is and just goes into the exam totally blind lmao. also the fact that his skills seem to include jumping good, being speedy, having the energy typical of a 12 yr old, being a weather sniffer, being nice, and having good instincts/constitution as a result of having eaten random grass and forest shit growing up...amazing.

is this gonna turn out to be one of those things where its like, wow theyve been using nen this whole time without realizing! tht would honestly explain a lot lmao

i really enjoy how like....semi-normal the power levels are rn? while also being all over the place and wack as fucks obvs (like hisoka dissolving that guys arms in his first appearance was A Lot, as well as all the card stuff hes done..). like the part wher that blue guys (evil franky one piece) punches the ground and it leaves a crater and everyones like !!!! wow wtf thats unnatural! that literally threw me off bc that kinda thing is so normal in anime lmaoooo. but i like that thats the starting point bc it leaves a lot of room for power escalation w/out it getting too out of hand

specifially our protags are starting out pretty low on the Shounen Badass scale - especially gon (and leorio, tho i kinda predict he wont be as fight-y? what with him being premed)

i find it kinda hilarious how killua hasnt done too much (aside from murdering those 2 randos in like half a second) despite being so clearly skilled...like when they have to do the 5v5 fight thing in the tower, i wouldve thought hed be the first up cause hes so badass but nope

actually thats what i find interesting - i was expecting all 5 (or maybe 4, we’re in the middle of leorio’s ‘fight’) of the fights to be physical smackdowns but so far nope, theyve been very cerebral. that bodes well, w/how smart the fights have been, bc i doubt the fights will get stale tht way

tho they might be kinda frustrating sometimes - there are times when u DO just wanna see a good ole fashioned shounen beatdown yknow. but we do get enough of that now (and im sure we’ll get plenty more) to satisfy (like kurapika decking fake-franky)

oh also the opening. its so charming and cute and i love the song...its also so hilariously basic and classic - like one of those typical 2000s anime openings where theres stock run cycles of all the main characters and theres a little animation of all the characters fighting together (and that fight doesnt actually happen, its just for the op)

also love that leorios the only one who doesnt fight in the OP, instead getting saved from death by gon lmao. im curious if he’ll end up fighting at all (i assume a little?) and if he’ll use nen (probably healing type nen?)

also i already wanna fistfight ging for abandoning his perfect angel son. also leorio is literally gons dad already, they even look alike wow

that guy hanzo has done basically 0 things so far but i rlly like him already, im curious if thatll change. also sorry for calling u ‘hanzo overwatch!?!?!?!’ upon first viewing my guy

tonpa is str8 up so annoying pls leave u pathetic loser

tho it cracked me up when he and Evil Mr Clean were facing off and starting getting all detailed/shaded and i was like o shit is he actually badass. are we abt to see like a nen battle or st. but no....lmaooo

i found it interesting that leorio didnt really admit to wanting to be a dr at first...hes such a good dude, he kinda just let kurapika think that his motives were superficial and greedy when in actuality theyre selfless

also wanting to be rich can be a rlly interesting character motivation and i love when its done right

oh my god i cant believe it took me this long to mention the hilariously edge ED....like holy shit, its so 2000s, the song sounds like its been re-recorded like 40000 times bc of how bad the audio quality is, or something, idk how to describe music but its hilariously specific in tone and its rlly funny to see shots of the main characters smiling while this screamo whatever plays in the bg....wow.

also s/o to killua for being king of edgy with that ‘tear of blood’ shot

i rlly like how much of the plot, especially the early hunter exam stuff, is moved along simply by gon being a good kind polite boy.

love the fact that he and leorio and kurapika (and later killua) all team up without even saying anything...i love that, most shounen would have them be like ‘che, i cant team up with anyone, i have to prove myself ALONE or my victory wont be EARNED’ or w/e idk. who knows that might happen later but rn i love how they all effortlessly work together (and how they all contribute - without each other they would have all failed at different points)

oh man also killuas first appearence was so funny when he drank a bunch of tonpas poisoned drinks and was like [smirks] tch, loser, im immune to poison. get dunked on. [skateboard away] i love him so fuckgin much

omfg that part where killua looks all shoujo/kawaii and is talking abt how hes gonna kill his family or w/e and gon is just like ^_^? i love they

HOOOOLY FUCK I ALMOST FORGOT, BUT 65% OF THE REASON I MADE THIS POST WAS TO MENTION HISOKAS THEME LMAOOOOO his music being like fuckgin, spanish guitar/traditional mexican type music is sooooo goddamn funny to me for some reason, like the first time it played i was like ok whats going ON with this spanish guitar lmao but then i figured out that its his theme and god thats so funny

hisoka is also so fuckign jojo like he could so easily be in jojo. he and dio would be the fakest best friends ever and would constantly try to kill each other on the lowdown and shittalk each other constantly in private but be super sweet to each others faces. also they would hatefuck. no im not taking criticism bye

i rlly love everyones backstories also, and i find it interesting that weve gotten to hear/see at least some of all 4 of the MCs backstories. theyre all compelling and interesting and i cant wait to dive in further

also calling it now but kurapika is totally gonna get way too absorbed in revenge and get fucked up/disregard their own life (maybe in the style of robin in one piece?) we’ll see but i feel like it aint gonna end well. i could be wrong, i really havent been spoiled at all, thats just my guess

hbahjfbshjf the ep that was called ‘hisoka x is x sneaky’ was SO funny that reads like a dora the explorer ep title

also i had no idea the ep titles were formatted like that w/the x’s and thats rlly funny

ok but the part where leorio - who seems to be pretty bad at fighting - tries to fight hisoka - whose literal first appearence involved him effortlessly dissolving a dudes arms - is so fucking funny. leorio rlly b a premed w/no brain cells....same bro.

also i loved the Cutthroat Kitchen portion of the hunter exam and how not a single contestant was any good at it lmaoooo. do they not have the cooking channel in hxh-verse earth

ok i love how the main characters are all intuitive in different ways depending on their own skills, like how killua can immediately guess that kurapika has never killed anyone before after they didnt kill evil-franky

kurapika joined killua in the Edgy Corner during that part also. like, they both have legit reasons to be edgy, but the shots of kurapika sitting in the darker tunnel part was kinda funny

also killua, a literal 12 yr old, calling out kurapika for being a murder virgin was pretty hilarious

ok also i didnt know that madhouse animated hxh which is rlly funny but w/e i love the animation especially the occasional chibi parts and the facial expressions (like killuas ‘i love murder’ catboy expressions)

oh also when killua murdered those 2 guys and his hand was all vein-y and his nails were pointy, his hands looked like hisokas do...i wonder if thats a legit connection or it hisoka just b getting his nails did

kurapika talking abt how even seeing a regular spider makes them rlly angry was both very sad and kinda funny. kura u have so many issues god bless

kurapikas smackdown on evil blue franky was fuckin dope tho. and the red eyes reveal was SPOICY

rlly love how the individual fights highlights the characters strengths/morals/motivations/whatever....the writing is already really strong tbh

basically i love this series so far and im rlly curious whatll happen next. also everything seems pretty chill and upbeat so far (relatively) and i know this shit gets dark and im NOT FUCKING READY.

throwing this here bc i dont have anyf riends who are up2date with hq’s manga/follow the manga closely so it was hard to talk about it in dept without spoiling them or borign the hell out of the rest of them PLUSS i wanted to word dump my Feelings before it inevitably fades :((

when EXACTLY i started hq i dont have any idea!!!! but it was probably around when season 1 of the anime started????? i was 13 and i in a sports club in school too so when i heard about it from a friend i was like hell yea and that was how it started. the friend who introduced it to me later lost interest but i was still going strong even after i graduated and stopped playing sports

idk man!!!!!!! hq ending right now is just so OOF bc its been w me since i had the word ‘teen’ in my age????? all the way until the end????? i turned 20 yesterday??????? thirTEEN to nineTEEN then when i reached twenty it was over....................

reading haikyuu as this loser kid really helped. haikyuu was about a bunch of kids in an after school sports club, playing a team sport. they wanted to win and reach nationals and stay as long as they could playing inthe competition. my experience was exactly that. u train some, the competition begins, u lose, seniors retire and it starts all over again

there were so many charatcers i could relate to even if some took me some time warm up to (@tsumtsum but jokes on me now he is mine). kids are impressionable right? having a bunch of all these other kids feeling the same way i do in a mostly??? the same kind of situation i was in had REALLY HELPED and i really Cannot stresss enough how thankful i am to haikyuu. it felt so relieving and validating to see others go through the same feelings or experiences i went through,,,,,, furudate was like hey ur feeling like this??? thats ok!!!!! and goddamn did that save me

at first i was like ehhhh bc i couldnt relate to hinat a and kags Genuine Love for what theyre doing but wow im so glad i decided to give it a try a little while longer. hq just latched onto my brain outta nowhere after that. usually in sports mangas even if i like both sides i usually have a clear bias to one side to win, but with hq it was Hard to cheer for one side the entire way and i LOVED that

age diversity tooooooo. it wasnt only high school kids, there were adults, graduates, college kids. babie kids too in backstories who went thru some shit and why they turned out the way they did. all of them grew up with us too???? like wow hq the gift that just keeps giving huh. after i graduated from my sports club i wasnt goign through what the kids were anymore BUT i still had characters like MANGA ARTIST (tenmaaa)

the stuff hq talk about like MAN thats so aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa????? hard work vs talent, burnout, interest and effort, teamwork, insecurity, leadership, winning and lsoing, and SO MUCH MORE im kinda bad at putting my happiness first over like practicality and stuff, like if i think its gonna be a lot of effort/not a high chance of succeeding i more than likely think its best 2 bail even if its gonna make me unhappier but seeing timeskip hq characters doing what they love and all that happy shit IDK MAKES ME SO HAPPY and motivated 2 try harderrrrr????

idk how 2 stress enuoght that hq has rly helped me so much???????? like if im feelin a certain way i can just go and reread a certain match then BAM im feeling a bit better. magic ???? possibly........... sounds cliche as shit but honestly the power of friendship, hardwork, and love has never been more inspiring and encouraging before i discovered haikyuu. i dont even know how i feel about all that but hq juz makes me feel like Everythings gonna be juz fine in a good way. dis some happiness producing shit right here

-rictor avis: queryn is a generic sailor on the pirate ship, rictor is the surgeon/carpenter for the crew, he’s a huge tall crow man, and is equally or perhaps more creepy than queryn. they hang around together and give everyone weird vibes. rictor is mute & queryn isn’t, but he says very little out of choice (he doesn’t speak the main language, idk common or whatever, very well) but they like to sit in the crows nest together in silence most hours of the day when theyre not working. everyone even their crewmates thinks they might be up to some weird shit. their dark secret? theyre just a cute couple.... they just like to hang out. they bonded with quiet, intense looks when queryn was first rescued dying in the swamp and brought on board and rictor mended his wounds. it was tender. absolutely nobody else knows theyre a couple even tho they don’t keep it a secret. theyre just chill

-garran korrash: garran is the bosun and is a literal/figurative grizzly old bear, and as well as being queryn’s manager he’s one of the only people who he’s really chill with. garran was the one who insisted they stop n help him out, and queryn’s been grateful ever since. he doesn’t say it bc he hardly says anything, but he shows it in hard work

-sonya perlace: like almost all of her crew, queryn would die for captain sonya. he comes from a pretty harsh society where the strong survive, and even tho he never quite fit in there, he really respects sonya’s strength & leadership.

2 Fears: even tho he’s a pirate his biggest fear is drowning since he nearly drowned before. he has a lot of nightmares about it. he’s also creeped out by elliot. cause what the fuck even IS that?

1 Element of their backstory: p much the only backstory he has is that he was part of this society of amphibian/lizard people in the deep swampy area of the continent that’s cut off from the rest. he was out hunting but got badly gored by a huge aninal (idk what, like a Bigger Lizard.. theres always a bigger lizard) and couldnt make it home. he started sinking into the bog but couldn’t pull himself free, then the area began to flood with torrential rainwater and he cried for help. luckily sonya & garran happened to be trekkin through the jungle and heard him

E - has to be elliot, the little bastard supreme. i played him as a dnd character with an altered backstory but i’ll use the adrift version

-sonya perlace: he acts the begrudging deckhand who’s resigned himself to his life, but he is 100% devoted to eventually killing her. she killed his mama and he has been waiting for his moment ever since, he’s even had opportunities to leave the crew but has stayed so he can keep close to her. it’s fully like, would have a picture of her with daggers & darts in it, if he had such resources

-niphea perlace: niph is the captain’s daughter, the first mate, and the reason elliot’s still alive - she persuaded sonya not to throw him off the ship along with his mum. he has understandably mixed feelings abt this, and he rarely shows it, but she’s always been an advocate for him and treated him fairly so he does like niph more than anyone, despite himself. also she’s his closest in age on a ship full of adults. he.... tries not to think abt the fact he plans on killing her mother in return cause that’s a bit awkward isnt it

-aidan moss: quartermaster aidan doesn’t like things he doesn’t understand, and he doesn’t understand what elliot is, so he goes out of his way to be awful to him, tending to delegate his own jobs to elliot at every chance he can get & generally insulting him. elliot tolerates it bc he has to. but make no mistake this dude is no2 on the kill list

2 Fears: i don’t think he has a lot of fears because he’s already been through some of the worst things imaginable. i don’t even think he precisely fears drowning/dying at sea, because he’s been focused on the image of how his mother died for so long, & imagining doing the same to sonya, that it kinda no longer affects him? but he also saw his dad die over a long period from wound infection and i think that must have made a traumatic impression on him, so i imagine he’s probably at least repulsed by decay/rot

1 Element of their backstory: so elliot is the only human character in a world of animals basically... i mean this is major novel spoilers but when tf am i ever gonna finish that. he comes from a very remote island of remaining humans, descendants of the few who survived nuclear disaster a long time ago. when he was small he and his parents were exiled from the island for breaking its rules (yea, as tends to happen w small isolated communities, things got over the top cult-y) and sent out in a tiny boat to fend for themselves. his dad died slowly while they drifted in the ocean, and he and his mum were near death when they were picked up by sonya’s crew, who were like what the fuck are those??? they kept them in the hold to discuss what to do w them, but elliot’s mum, thalia, tried to break free, attacking niph when she came with food. as punishment sonya made her walk the plank, and that’s where it all went wrong yknow. woops this isn’t 1 element is it. oh well

ok anyways there are. Many. but here are my human main ones :>

a generic apocalypse story

WELL. these r the ones ive talked abt the most tbh... u may have heard of them b4...... but as the title tells u, this is set in a post-apocalyptic america where kiyoko maki is trying 2 find her family but also. escape 2 canada 4 her own safety. that’s..... all i can reveal rlly.....

along the way she meets the other members of her new group of friends in order of elijah forrest, alaska douglas, and zoe guerra n milo vargas :> i have a general idea of what i want 2 do, but sPOILER: they all survive no matter what bc i Cannot kill any of them off, i have decided :]

ANYWAYS. at first, kiyoko and elijah don’t.... really like eachother and r forced 2 cooperate only because of a mutual friend that they both have. bbut they eventually grow really close and r inseparable by the time the story ends!!!

elijah loves his little sister that he forcibly adopted aka alaska and is a... bad influence for both her and milo, but has good intentions. he sometimes butts heads with zoe bc of their Very Different opinions, but he can’t stay mad at her for too long bc she’s only doing the best 4 all of them

alaska is, ofc, very scared of everyone @ first, but soon grows super close 2 elijah and sees him as a reckless older brother. kiyoko sees her as one of her little siblings, and so does zoe but. zoe sees every1 as a little sibling so..... ANYWYAs milo and alaska r BEST FRIENDS as soon as they meet :D

zoe and milo are. super close. zoe sees him as her little brother and is very protective of him. but like i said above... she sees most everyone younger than her as a little sibling so ! yea. but she does get along well with kiyoko and eli, despite being Very different in personalities than both of them.

and.... milo!!! :) he’s nerdy but surprisingly gets along well with elijah and kiyoko, but is SUPER BEST FRIENDS with alaska bc theyre the youngest of the group. he’s the most underdeveloped but !!!! 2 make up 4 the fact that i NEVER talk abt him: he’s very much of a dork and really wants to make his parents proud by becoming a scientist, though he’d like 2 go in2 biology!

new story ocs

now THESE r the newest ones basically !!!!! ive only got 2 of them developed so far, but theres gonna b. so many more bc im actually worldbuilding the town so. ANYWYAS these r the montgomery step-siblings!!! daisy montgomery and aiden montgomery!

aiden is her older step-brother who’s very much of a social recluse... he moved to crystal beach only a couple years ago where his mother met his (now) step-father and... yea. they married n moved in 2gether abt a year b4 the story takes place. he was also on his high school’s basketball team but left 4..... personal reasons (that i havent even made yet. oops.)

daisy is... complicated. she comes off as very sweet and kind but, untrue to her name, is Not delicate at all and is in fact very angry all the time. she has a hard time controlling her temper and often blows up at her step-brother. she really tries, but. yea.

anyways they pretty much hate eachother at first glance. they’re polar opposites and just. well. think that they changed eachother’s lives 4 the worst. there’s not much else that i’ve written down unfortunately but :> yea

anyways. melanie goodwin is SUPER EXCITED all the time and is very much a happy-go-lucky kinda person. also this isnt relevant but if they lived in modern times they’d totally b in2 decora fashion OK. she’s an extrovert and knows basically every1 here age + more in the town she lives in. she’s the one that hosts the party at the lakehouse where..... yknow... everything goes wrong.

roman carlson is. chill. and very laid-back. he enjoys parties and drinking and doing normal teen stuff, pretty much. he’s invited 2 the party thru a mutual friend and surprisingly is. super competent at this knda stuff.

matilda ward isnt even sure how she got dragged 2 that party but. yea. she’s basically a goth/emo (HAVENT DECIDED YET. F.) she’s super closed-off and doesn’t really do a lot outside of her house unless she’s dragged out by her older sister.... which is how she ended up at that party. yea.

anyways, 4 relationships! melanie likes both roman and matilda, but thinks roman can b kinda irresponsible and that matilda needs 2 chill out sometimes. they Try 2 get along with the 2 of them the best they can.....

roman thinks melanie and matilda.... are ok. he doesn’t care that much until shit hits the fan. so..... yea.......

matilda thinks that both melanie and roman are. too laid-back and hates the fact that they both try 2 get her 2 calm down. she likes being a loner and doesn’t talk to them much at first.
