Soooo...how did the cookies get the baker to open up to them? How did they get the baker to come out of their shell to have fun instead of being so nervous and shy and well...afraid of making a bad impression?

A/n: it was the rubber ducky situation all over again! Kinda- short fic! I can’t write a fic one shot for the life of me💀 i think I answered the ask the right-

Pure Vanilla and baker were walking through the kingdom, enjoying the lovely weather they were having! Pure Vanilla held a couple of bags filled with gifts he got for baker as they silently trailed behind him, until… The sound of squeak was heard. It wasn’t loud nor stirred the peace of the kingdom. The Baker heard it, turning their head towards an alleyway. Pure Vanilla continues to walk and talk about kingdom affairs, not realizing Baker stopped following.

They heard the squeak again and walked down the small space between the two buildings. The area led to another part of the kingdom with more stores and buildings, just, less crowded. They peeped they’re head out of the alleyway, they saw Lilac and Yogurt Cream talking in front of a store selling miscellaneous items. Yogurt Cream was squeezing a rubber ducky he purchased; it was a classic, yellow rubber ducky. Lilac watched Yogurt Cream with an unamused look in his eyes, watching Yogurt cream be entertained by some toy. Lilac was the first to notice the Baker out of the corner of his eyes, he followed their gaze to the rubber ducky. There were stars in and sparkles in their eyes.

Lilac reached into the bag he was carrying a pulled out another rubber ducky, but this one was purple. He held it out, beckoning the baker to come and take it. The Baker didn’t hesitate, they walked over and took the purple ducky, squeezing it then letting air fill back into it.

…Pure Vanilla has has walked multiple blocks before realizing the Baker wasn’t there. “So which situation should we…” He looks behind himself to only see his own shadow. “… attend to first.. Baker?!”

He was filled with fear when he realized Baker wasn’t with him anymore. He asked nearby cookie, they told him they haven’t seen Baker. It put the entire Kingdom into Chaos while the Baker was playing with a purple ducky.

The Baker and Yogurt Cream continues to bond over their love of rubber duckys. The Baker was more hyper and lively as they continued to play with the rubber duckies. It took a good 20 more minutes before Pure Vanilla found Baker.

“Baker! I’ve been looking for you, what happened?! Are you hurt?!” Pure Vanilla looked over the Baker for any cuts like a concerned parent.

“I’m fine!” The Baker laughed, putting the purple ducky in Pure Vanillas face and making it squeak squeak. “Look at it!”

Pure Vanilla was even more concerned.. Why was Baker so lively? He didn’t ask, nor did he want to know, hes happy his Baker is talking to him!

A/n: rubber ducky made baker happy! I hope any of this made actual sense, in my brain it did lmao

Well, there's a @lilacthebooklover fic called World's Okayest Uncle which is about Paul being the unofficial uncle to all the kids in Hatchetfield. So far there's Richie, Alice and Pete, but it's still a really good read.

I haven't read it myself yet but @marvelmaniac715 wrote Gotta Get Back To School which is about the Lords In Black going to...you guessed it: school. It's also funny that the title is a line from the first show Starkid ever did - A Very Potter Musical ("I gotta get back to Hogwarts, I gotta get back to schooool~")

There is the series "The Guy Who Didn't Like... Fanfiction" by mynameisapoet_iamaphilip which has some really nice little short ficlets about specifically Paulkins.

Mortarboards by man_down_in_hatchet_town made me fucking cryyyy, so I definitely recommend that one if you want emotions about the NPMD kids.

So uhhh...how ruthless and dark can lilac be?

me seeing the name Lilac in my ask box tbh pfft😭

UM boi its been a minute and all my love for Lilac resurfaced i gotta draw him soon AAAA(and honestlyy redesign him a bit) but anyway I'd say Lilac is a pretty kind spirit but at the end of the day he's meant to represent the whole notion of nature, life, and the innerworkings of ecosystems and how that must stay balanced by any means necessary and, from the human perspective heavily influenced by empathy, may seem cruel and uncaring at times but it is simply his duty as a spirit of that world. Like in this world nature may seem cruel ei. a male lion killing any male lion cubs to prevent future competitors, or a mother stork throwing her own young out of the nest because it's chances of survival would be hindering to the rest, a monitor lizard biting prey and following it as it slowly dies from the infection, how typically large prey animals Will obliterate Anything that it feels threatened by, the list goes ON and on but that's simply how life works on this planet and how certain animals are designed to live and survive in their own way. Lilac may assist and can create life ( his specialty is plants, more complex organisms are a little more complicated for him) and can take life away, but he typically keeps his hands off and lets nature do it's own thing. Any territorial battles amongst harpies he *usually* stays neutral since in his eyes it is merely territorial disputes which again is natural as certain territories can cycle through with time. If there is a species that is overrunning the ecosystem Lilac will eliminate however many members of said species until it is balanced again, if there is a forest fire from a lightning bolt he will reside in that area and help the harpies rebuild and survive until it's as if it never happened that's just How He Is. So ig he can be as ruthless and dark as nature can be, in fact Valon's main resentment toward Lilac is that Lilac shows no outward remorse for how Valon got his cards dealt- Valon was the runt of the nest, as a result was bullied and singled out by his siblings(even tried to be killed by them) and was ultimately thrown out of the nest whenever difficult times arrived, but managed to survive the fall and grew up carrying that bitterness of 'why didn't you care enough to help me live you were just going to let me die a miserable death if it meant 'keeping the balance through natural selection??'. He hates that he can't get a reaction out of Lilac when it comes to that topic which ultimately leads to him only half accidentally waking up Gracrux and surprise surprise throwing off the entire ecosystem with the mass destruction from Gracrux's wrath which all that lore abt the harpies n such can be read here>> X

Even if Lilac does feel bad for Valon or any other creature that doesn't make it, the bottom line is it is what it is and there are a multitude of reasons why he cant help every single harpy out there just because he feels bad so he prefers to stay stoic and unwavering about it. However if anyone from any other world discovers the harpy portal and Lilac finds out he Will be as cruel as a territorial hippo if he must😳 so Cinder better watch his everlovin asssss lmfao
