I love Bildad the Shuhite for the beard, the sunglasses, the hair, and the grin like the rest of you.
I am absolutely feral for the caftan. I need 1000% more David Tennant/Crowley in caftans. Just that long string bean of a man shaped being in long loose flowing dress-type garment.
Like I need Crowley rocking up on the main stage of season 11 of Rupaul’s drag race.

Redesigns Redesigns Redesigns !
And a rename!
🪲☀️🪲☀️🪲☀️🪲☀️🪲
Tumblr media
More info below + solo + sketches below cut!
Because I had redesigned cheddar I was looking back at my other two favorite girls, Riley and Boon, and found myself cringing at their designs. They were…okay! But not good anymore! Riley still looked like a sona despite her now being her own character and boon…boon was something else
🐜🐜 Riley Red 🐜🐜
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When redoing Riley I wanted her to look super sweet but is surprisingly rude despite her appearance (cliché diner server from the movies). So making her shorter and chubbier instead of mean and lean looking like previously got that part down, all that was left was the hair which was thankfully easy thanks to her design for @/evillillad metal au I realized she look good af with bangs! I also ,add it more everywhere because she only has time to fix her bangs before back to running food! (Also gave her a beaded bracelet that is the same colors as poppy’s neck feathers) (they are gfs cause I said so)
But otherwise Riley is still the same! Same mean lesbian that hates her green bean rival who makes absolutely rancid hot dog combinations across the street
Regarding her diner: still working on an overall design but 85% of the dishware was made by Wally Darling (and friends)! Riley commissioned him for it. The rest she bought from (unfortunately) Howdy!
If she has any merchandise it would likely be similar to those toy kitchen sets or a paint it yourself dish kit for kids
🌧️🌧️ Misty Gloom 🌧️🌧️
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For Misty Gloom (Originally Boon Gloon) I wanted them to be something else entirely. I disliked their original designs because while it was fun at the time it got annoying pretty fast. They were originally made for nsfw but I never actually did it! So last night after smoking a bowl with my bestie I came up with the idea: Rain Monster. Rainbow monsters exist, so why can’t a rain monster? So I got to work on making them look as wet as possible- their horns based off sea lettuce and their hair made to look like jelly, I actually got happy with the idea! The bottom of their feet and the palms of their hands I wanted to make it look like and ombré similar to rainbow monsters (I would say they are distant cousins!) for the clothes Rain monsters usually wear loose fitting clothing so I made them wear a caftan dress that was popular in the 70s
Info regarding rain monsters: Rain Monsters are a lot taller than rainbow monsters. They have longer arms fingers and more unique horn shapes and colors (made to look like camouflage). Similar to rainbow monsters when it comes to flowers, rain monsters actually whisper to the clouds and help them collect rain. Think of it like caring for animals and farming! Once the clouds have collected enough water they guide them where to go as a way to keep everything balanced. Throughout the forest and towns they have rain water buckets which they collect after every storm. What they do with it is a mystery. Rain monsters, at least most, are a very reclusive group, often staying away from others that aren’t their own. Of course they will talk to you, but don’t expect them too be excitable like their cousins the rainbow monsters!
Misty would normally be slouched over but for height comparisons I made them stand up straight for this one!
Misty would probably not have any merchandise herself but her species overall the merch would be make your own horns kit or a rain collector bucket

I haven't posted about it in a while, but last year I posted about some ongoing stomach pain that I was dealing with, that I had seen multiple doctors and had multiple tests ran for with no answer.
I got an answer last year, and thank goodness it wasn't bad.
I saw a specialist, and she noticed that when I sat down the waistband of my pants was too small (even though my pants fit kind of loose while I stood).
She asked if I could take a month to wear clothes that were either low rise, had a very elastic waist, or no waist at all.
I did, and my pain ended almost immediately.
Anyway, over the past year I learned a bit more about "tight pants syndrome" and I pretty much just wear caftans and dresses with no waists and it's the best fashion decision I've ever made.

I’ve been reading and writing Mirandy fanfiction for a decade. I had such hope—my god, I live on it—for the The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical. Beth Leavel and Elton John were promising.
I went to see it on July 27th, and the TL;DR is that it was supremely disappointing.
*spoilers below
Tumblr media
The biggest disappointment was in Beth’s portrayal of musical!Miranda. I adore Beth and she was great—but the character should not have been named Miranda Priestly. She came across as a much older woman than Meryl’s movie!Miranda. She had red hair, and it was an orangey, dull red. It felt unstyled. She did not dress sexy at all. Her clothing was loose and almost too big for her, and her skirt suits were longer and looked a bit like a 1940s silhouette. At the Ball, she wore a black and red brocade jacquard long dress with a cape, evoking imagery of a devil. She was loud, a little crass, laughed a lot, and made a lot of exaggerated facial expressions. She seemed to lack any sense of femininity and reminded me more of a Jane Lynch character. She said, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you,” to Andrea at one point. And she sang a song about who you have to screw (or maybe it was “step on”) to stay on top. It was totally and completely jarring.
Several pivotal scenes (to me, anyway) were cut. First, there’s no Book or mention of assistants delivering it to her home each night. Because of that, we miss the scene early on where Andrea interrupts a private moment between Miranda and her husband.
Second, there’s no scene with Miranda and her team at a planning meeting, so a sniffly Emily never interrupts and we don’t get the “incubus of viral plague” comment. (Instead, Emily gets dizzy because she’s doing a celery juice cleanse and that’s why Andrea has to attend the Ball. There’s also a random model who walks into Miranda’s office in a floral dress for the sole purpose of triggering the “Florals? For spring?” comment, and it was totally out of context.)
Third, the Ball itself really isn’t shown. There’s no assistants whispering names to Miranda. Andrea wears a bright yellow 1950s A-line party dress to the Ball. The assistants don’t match dresses. And most importantly, we don’t see Miranda as a sex symbol with all that décolleté on view.
Fourth, because there’s no mention of assistants being in Miranda’s home, Miranda asks Andrea to replace Emily at the Ball, and makes her tell her right away. (Emily is hit by a Prius as she’s running out of the Ball towards her Uber.)
Fifth, because it’s set in the 2020s, there’s no Harry Potter manuscript task. Instead, Miranda needs Andrea to get her and her daughter (Cassidy, who’s old enough to travel to Ibiza on her own) to Marrakesh so that YSL can fit her for a custom caftan. Andrea can’t do this because flights are grounded due to a sandstorm in the region, which sets up a “just a little dust” comment from a disappointed Miranda. Andrea’s redemption moment comes later when Miranda tells Andrea that her daughter called to thank her for surprising her and arranging for the YSL person to come to her for the fitting. Miranda tells Andrea she’s surprising.
Finally, at the end, Andrea doesn’t work for a local newspaper, but instead gets hired to write a tell-all book about her time as Miranda’s assistant. And there’s no sighting of Miranda on the street.
Nate is as much a tool in the musical as in the movie, but he’s much more self-aware in the musical. Andrea’s two friends have a realization while she’s in Paris that they shouldn’t punish her for getting to do cool things with her job; she ends up moving in with them when she returns.
The hotel scene is slightly different. Miranda takes her wedding ring off and puts it in the pocket of her robe while she’s on the phone with Cassidy, trying to get her to join her in Paris. She says something like “come on, it’s only a divorce” to her daughter on the phone, and that’s the only mention of it. Andrea walks in, Miranda silently makes a change on the seating chart and hands it back, and when Andrea sees it, she offers to find Miranda “another plus-one.” Where movie!Andrea gives her that sympathetic, heartbreaking look, musical!Andrea gives her a pep talk about how she’ll come out of this just fine because she’s a “force of nature.” (Miranda later tells Andrea that little speech gave her the idea to screw Nigel and give the Holt job to Jacqueline.) Also, in the hotel scene, Miranda asks Andrea to write her speech for the luncheon.
She’s working on the speech when Christian drags her away to his hotel room, then she goes to finish it in his room, and he tells her that Miranda’s being replaced. After the announcement, Andrea is very very pissed Miranda did that to Nigel. But Nigel doesn’t say, “she’ll pay me back”—instead, he yells at Andrea for being clueless as to how the world works.
The car scene from Paris takes place at one of the tables after the luncheon crowd has left. Miranda tells Andrea what a good writer she is, how impressed she is, and tells her to think about what career she wants next because she’s ready for it. After Miranda leaves, Andrea drops her ringing phone into a glass of water on the table and heads back to New York.
Almost all the iconic lines made it into the musical, but they didn’t evoke the same feelings for me. There’s very little Andrea/Emily interaction, although Emily calls her “Andy-for-short” throughout and I thought that was endearing.
Andrea’s makeover wasn’t that dramatic—her clothes pre-makeover were well-fitted and nice, but looked like a prep school uniform. Again, not the same effect.
Nigel was pretty good. He had some new zingers that were fun. He tells Andrea he’s got a husband when he talks about being in the closet before curating the closet, but that was the only queerness really mentioned.
Andrea and Miranda had little time together. Miranda had very few songs—I don’t count her sing-song listing of commands followed by “that’s all” to be a song. The whole point was Andrea’s story, how she came into her own career…and it was honestly boring. I’ll note that Taylor Iman Jones’s understudy performed the night I saw it, but I don’t think TIJ could have saved it.
The songs were kinda catchy, but twelve hours later, I’ve forgotten all of them. The title theme felt more like chamber music—lots of skulls and dark/red imagery, as if Miranda is a devil from hell? It was weird.
They didn’t do a good job of showing the audience who Miranda the Editor really is. I imagine people who didn’t see the movie or read the book might have been lost. Most of the audience seemed to really enjoy it. A lot of older men there with their wives thought it was hilarious. I was cringing for 95% of it.
My honest opinion: save your money; stick to fanfic.

hi, finally answering these! (tumblr wouldn't let me answer the ask with pictures???)
Favorite description in your wip? (If asked more than once, respond with a new piece each time)
At the moment, I think it's the description of Beatrice Whitmore Sr. in A Hotel Room of One's Own!
[ image id, white text on black background: "There was little of that beauty left in Trixie now. The old woman was unlovely, unkempt. That dark, flowing hair that once enraptured portrait artists hung lank around her face. She wore what she liked—loose fitting strapless dresses that let her pendulous breasts swing free, caftans that flowed and flapped around her thighs. Still, there was an air of nobility about Trixie, a sort of imperiousness that radiated from within. Spread out in bed or lounging on the back porch, Trixie looked out over her kingdom, her home, and felt no shame." ]
Set the scene for us. What are your settings like and do you have any pictures saved that represent them? Do your characters travel and see more than one? What are their names?
it's very condensed, at least in A Hotel Room of One's Own as it's set mostly in the Whitmore manor, on a very small part of Martha's Vineyard (Oak Bluffs). I don't think I've gathered a lot of setting pictures (I definitely should though!), but if I had to make a little collage of them, it would be so very limited. Images of grand houses, images of ornate rooms stuffed with clutter and furniture, a catholic church, the woods and unruly land around Whitmore manor.

leda house question! how do the characters dress when not in drag? this question brought to you by my realization that, except when specifically mentioned (like john's green caftan) I always imagine john, frenchie, and pete in less grubby versions of their show costumes.
oooh fun! I do have some ideas about this. Including the kings.
Stede - He's usually one level of formal up from everyone else. Even at his most casual, usually it's a polo, khakis and loafers. Day to day wear is usually embroidered shirts in many varieties, slacks, nice shoes and definitely accessories. Man loves a pastel. He always wore a pinky ring and its now joined with his wedding ring. Obnoxious watch always.
Eddy- Her outfits get described the most often, but it's always comfortable with tight inner layers (bike shorts, sports bras etc) and then loose flowy over layers (robes, cardigans, shawls, silky jumpsuits). Usually in jewel tones. And of course, moto jackets in a rainbow of colors. Boots usually, but generally heeled. If they're going to be tall, they're going to be fuck-you-tall.
Jim- Always in the hat, usually also in the jacket or leather vest. Loose shirts, jeans or sweatpants depending on how relaxed they are in the environment. Neutral palette.
Oluwande- His palette is neutrals with pops of bright colors (opposite of Teal, basically). He has a tan romper with a pattern of butterflies on it that he wears throughout the warm months, that's a favorite. Jim likes it a lot too. He pays attention to trends, mostly so he can ignore them flagrantly.
Pete- Loves old clothes, doesn't throw away t-shirts or jeans until they're on death's door. Likes a loud pattern, owns many many Hawaiian shirts. Wears his Dad's old baseball cap out a lot of the time to keep his scalp from burning. Tennis shoes, in good condition, because you have to be kind to your feet.
Frenchie- Loves a gender ambiguous moment, gravitates towards light colors, and lighter fabrics like linen. Has never said no to a crocheted top. Lots of fringe and movement. In the winter, just layers on shawls and jackets, does not change the under layers. Wears heeled boots, but usually brown suede ones.
John- At home, is all about that loungewear and has more than several caftans. Those stay at home though. Out and about these days, he likes a t-shirt with a short-sleeved button down in the same color story over it to match. He has a pair of black and white lace up wingtips that are his current favorite shoes.
Roach- All clothes are acceptable, sometimes all at once. He wears a lot of skirts and dresses, sometimes over pants, sometimes not. He franken-creates shirts out of several ancient ones. His accessories are rubber bracelets, one of Frenchie's discarded lace chokers always, and a silver ring Audra gave him that he wears on his right middle finger. He wears a range of shoes, but he can run in all of them and that's all that matters.
Read- Basically lives in a series of hoodies, breathable shorts or yoga pants, weather depending. No accessories, except for her cartilage piercing which is a simple silver bar.

BurdaStyle, July 2022
The cover lets you know that this issue will be all about summer travel to warm places, although there are 2 tailored jackets and Jacket 117 has a full step-by-step sewing lesson for it. But here I give you 3 summer dresses and an unusual top.
On the front cover you have Dress 122, a reissued pattern from 1961, when the fitted bodice and flared skirt was still in style as it had been in the 1950s. (Only later in the 1960s did the a-line mini dress make its debut). Harmonizing trim draws attention up to the face and pinch the waist, while the skirt is a simple rectangle pleated at the waistline. So many lovely combinations come to mind. Pick a print and then find your solid.
Then Dress 106 offers a surplice bodice, little ties at the shoulders and an unusual hemline created by laying the center seam of the skirt along the straight of grain while the length at the side seams are elongated. As 107, the same Dress  loses its ties and handkerchief hemline for a less whimsical look. Then we have Dress 102 which has piecing instead of darts to shape its bustline and  buttons up the front. A small section of gathers at below the bustline and at center back give the skirt enough width to be comfortable. There is a video lesson on sewing this model on YouTube.
Finally, we have an unusual knit Top #119. See the photo and then the little sketch and you will realize that the armholes come out the top of the pattern creating a kind of cowl under the arms. Its success depends on the drape of the knit according to them, and on the fit according to me. So long as the armhole is not so deep as to reveal more flesh than makes you comfortable, it will work. You may want to make a test muslin with a cheaper fabric to see. But make sure it has the same drape and stretch as the fashion fabric you want to use for the final model.
As the sketches show you, there are more dresses and tops, plus two caftans to wear loose or belted, and some children’s clothing as well. All patterns are included, though you must trace them onto other paper, and simple directions as well as some more sewing tips for the trickery techniques. Also, a few little projects like a small hand bag, etc.
Find it at your local fabric store or here: https://www.burdastyle.com/subscription-burda-style/subscribe-to-burda-style.html

Unveiling the Caftan Cardigan: Your New Statement Piece at Emalina Fashion
Hey fashionistas! Welcome back to Emalina Fashion, your one-stop shop for all things stylish and empowering. Today, we're thrilled to introduce you to a garment that seamlessly blends comfort and chic: the caftan cardigan.
This unique piece bridges the gap between laid-back lounging and effortlessly elevated everyday wear. Buckle up as we explore the magic of the caftan cardigan, how to style it for different occasions, and why it deserves a prime spot in your wardrobe!
What is a Caftan Cardigan?
The caftan cardigan takes inspiration from two beloved garments: the luxurious caftan and the practical cardigan. From the caftan, it inherits the loose, flowing silhouette and often boasts bold prints and vibrant colors. The cardigan influence manifests in the open front and, sometimes, the inclusion of buttons or a tie closure.
The result? A stunning hybrid that offers the relaxed comfort of a caftan with the versatility of a cardigan.
Why You'll Love the Caftan Cardigan
Here are just a few reasons why the caftan cardigan is destined to become your new favorite:
Effortless Comfort: The loose drape of the caftan cardigan provides unparalleled comfort. It's perfect for those days when you want to feel relaxed and confident without sacrificing style.
Flattering Silhouette: The flowing nature of the caftan cardigan skims your curves, creating a universally flattering silhouette. It's a fantastic option for all body types.
Versatility Galore: Dress it up or down! The caftan cardigan effortlessly transitions from casual outings to dressier events. Just adjust your styling choices for each occasion.
Statement Maker: With its bold prints and vibrant colors, the caftan cardigan is an instant conversation starter. It allows you to express your unique personality and turn heads wherever you go.
Year-Round Wear: This versatile piece can be enjoyed throughout the year. Opt for lightweight fabrics like chiffon or silk for warmer months, and layer it with turtlenecks or under sweaters for a cozy winter look.
Styling Your Caftan Cardigan:
Now comes the fun part:  styling your caftan cardigan! Here are some inspiring ideas for creating fabulous outfits:
Casual Chic: For a relaxed everyday look, pair your caftan cardigan with jeans, a simple t-shirt, and a pair of sneakers. For extra flair, accessorise with a thick bracelet or a bold necklace.
Beach Babe: The caftan cardigan makes the perfect beach cover-up. Throw it over your swimsuit after a dip in the ocean, and instantly elevate your poolside look.
Boho Beauty: Embrace your inner bohemian by pairing your caftan cardigan with a flowing maxi dress, sandals, and a wide-brimmed hat. This outfit is perfect for summer festivals or a casual brunch date.
Workwear Wonder: Believe it or not, the caftan cardigan can even be incorporated into your work wardrobe. Opt for a solid-colored caftan cardigan in a neutral tone and pair it with tailored trousers, a crisp blouse, and pumps. This creates a sophisticated and comfortable work outfit.
Night Out Ensemble: Dress up your caftan cardigan for a night on the town! Choose a bold, printed caftan with a shimmering fabric like satin or silk. Pair it with heels, statement earrings, and a clutch for a glamorous look.

Exquisite Collection of Authentic Moroccan Kaftan Dresses for the Elegant Bride
The Moroccan kaftan, also known as a caftan, holds a coveted status in fashion and culture worldwide, but it bears special significance in Morocco. Exclusively worn by women, the kaftan serves as both everyday attire and haute couture for bridal occasions, the choice depending on the material used.
Representative of diverse cultural identities and influenced by cultural heritage, Moroccan kaftans often incorporate elements produced in medinas. The process involves men preparing vibrant threads, women selling hand-prepared buttons for finishing touches, and workshops where belt-makers craft colorful accessories to complete the look.
While cotton is commonly used in Moroccan kaftan dresses, especially in the medinas with colorful patterns and accentuating stitching, these are typically reserved for home wear or hot summer days. Kaftans are characterized by long sleeves and are often paired with heels due to their length. The more elegant online bridal kaftan styles are reserved for special occasions and weddings, worn with pride across different societal classes. True fashion enthusiasts often opt for hand-made dresses adorned with beads, embroidery, and the finest fabrics that reflect a woman's unique style.
Unlike in some nations where kaftans serve as outer garments, in Morocco, they are worn as dresses. Moroccan kaftans may feature long or short sleeves, fitted or loose. Although not typically worn for everyday tasks outside the home, women in Morocco don attractive kaftans for special occasions. Plainer kaftans, made from regular materials, may also find a place in a lady's casual wardrobe.
It's great to hear that you recommend Kolkozy.com as the best website for buying Moroccan caftans. If users are interested, they can visit the website and explore the variety of caftans and other products offered by Kolkozy Fashion Pvt. Ltd. Remember to ensure that the website is secure and reputable before making any online purchases. If users have specific questions about the products or services offered by Kolkozy.com, they can reach out to the customer support provided on thDesigner Kaftanse website.
