hi yaz 💕 i was wondering if you had any recs to start reading poetry. i like reading dreamy, melancholic or warm concepts? i don’t even know if this is useful. but i literally have no idea where to begin 😢
hi hi hi! omg i’m actually so excited on your behalf... getting into poetry is like opening a door you always knew was there for the very first time and stepping into a brand new world laid out just for u! there is absolutely no wrong way to go about exploring it. 💌
firstly i really recommend signing up for a daily poetry newsletter because i have found so many wonderful poems that way. you can sign up for the poetry foundation newsletter here & the academy of american poets newsletter here & the paris review newsletter here! poetry anthologies are also a wonderful way of getting a taste of a lot of different works centered around a particular time period or theme & poking around in the poetry section for an interesting one next time u find yourself at a bookstore might be very rewarding for you!
and secondly here are some recs that came to mind when i thought of the words dreamy, melancholic, and warm. luckily there are lots of poems out there that fit these parameters. i hope u like them!

Have Manfred von Richthofen and Paul von Hindenburg lived in the same room at Wahlstatt?
Tumblr media
Paul von Hindenburg went to the Cadet School in Wahlstatt from 1859 to 1863. The dorm where he stayed got a framed picture from him.
In Manfred von Richthofens posthumous published memoirs (Ein Heldenleben, 1920) it says that Hindenburg told him he was in room 6, the same room MvR was in, with a 40 year difference.
In the book I got this photo from (Paul Lindenberg: Das Buch von Feldmarschall Hindenburg) it says that Hindenburg was in room 4 (which was turned into room 5 over the years).
As you can tell, the numbers don’t match up at all. At this point so far, I believe it is a typo, because the story of MvR and Hindenburg having lived in the same dorm has, as far as I know, not been questioned by historians before. If it is not a typo that would mean two things:
1. The story is made up for propaganda. That would make sense, because Manfred von Richthofen, the Kaiserreichs greatest hero, having started his military career in the same room as Paul von Hindenburg would suggest some kind of predetermined destiny, as its often propagated for Richthofen.
2. The „lost papers“ from Ein Heldenleben are edited for propaganda purposes. This would go against my initial belief that those papers are diary entries.
____
I mean Hindenburg could have also forgor what room he was in bcs hes old or something. The book im taking this info from doesnt list their sources, but it was written when Hindenburg was still alive, and they did do a certain amount of research because they got a photo from the room. I‘ll try to dig a little deeper into this, and keep you updated.
If anyone here has Hindenburgs autobiography at hand or the 1915 one by his brother maybe you can check for me, otherwise im getting both those books on Friday.

Are you ready to start the actual german Remus Lupin playlist? Obviously some of the already established songs have to be on there, Durch den Monsun is a MUST. But might I suggest Augen zu by Kobito & Sookee for either post moon Remus vibe or berlin hipster remus vibe? What do you think?
Okay, I think I’m ready.
Love that song choice. Remus is just so damp and tired all the time.
Durch den Monsun is definitely staying.
Now, are we still on that original antifa idea? Because I guess a lot of that overlaps with Sirius’ playlist, but I suggest Hey Mr Nazi specifically for Remus. He is antifa, but I feel like he’d play nicer than Sirius.
Also Cottbus by Audio88 & Yassin, Seelentherapie by Toten Hosen, and maybe Schüsse in die Luft by Kraftklub? („Ich war niemals anti-alles, ich war immer anti-ihr / Hab schon lange angefangen mich mit Dingen zu arrangieren“) I feel like these have a tired ‘I wish other people would do something but they’re not, so I guess I have to’-vibe which is very on brand for Remus imo, but tell my yours.
Moving on from antifa songs, I am a bit surprised you didn’t know Udo Lindenberg. He’s not even a musician anymore, he’s like, culture, an idol. He fought to play a concert in the DDR and became a symbol for the Wiedervereinigung. ANYWAY history lesson over, he’s also ….. specific. You have to look at an interview or something and then tell me whether or not Remus has a crush on him. I really need to know your opinion on this.
I’m not incredibly well-versed in Udo Lindenberg, but I think he’d listen to Wieder genauso when he wants to cry (or, if you really wanna go there, in the lost years, or after Sirius dies. Which he doesn’t, but it’s in that weird AU everyone is always talking about)
And of course Hinterm Horizont for the wolfstar feels.
And Mein Ding. Idk, it’s like a hymn for Udo fans.
I also really do think he would love Falco. So I suggest we keep Egoist and Junge Römer and add Der Kommissar. No thoughts just vibes.
For Sido I agree with Löwenzahn, would like to keep Mein Block, and add Rollender Stein because if Remus can identify with something it’s running away and leaving people behind: "Wahrscheinlich ist es nicht so leicht, dis zu versteh'n / Doch ich konnte nicht mehr bleiben, es war einfacher zu geh'n / Aber niemand ist mir wichtiger als ihr vier / Mehr als ich mir selbst bedeutet ihr mir // Vielleicht weiß ich, wann die beste Zeit zu geh'n ist / Aber immer, wenn es wichtig wäre, fehl ich / Heh, ja, ich weiß, was dis Problem ist, ich schäm mich" (back with the remus bashing apparently, but you know it's true)
Also adding Liebst du mich for needy, insecure, head-over-heels-in-love-with-Sirius Remus.
The more I think about this the more important Remus loving Sido is to me.
That's all I can think of for him right now but tell me yours! (and on the tiny chance anyone else is interested in this, they are also welcome to add stuff)

On Repeat tag game
Tagged by @rocketturtle4 💜 Thank you very much! 🥰
The game: Put your Spotify On Repeat (if you don't know where to find it, just search for "on repeat" and voilà, there it is) playlist on shuffle and post the first 10 songs!
I really like the first ten songs on the list, but I am going to shuffle it... Some songs really surprised me, because I rarely listen to them... But here we go... What a nice activity for a sunday afternoon ☕ (And I hadn't any idea that this feature of a repeat list existed until now... I love it! Such a good mix for my ears!)
1. Be with you by Ateez
I love Ateez and especially their calmer songs. This is such a blessing for my ears. These boys are talented and not just Jongho with this incredible voice. I love San's voice. It has a vibe I really like! But I am a little bit surprised that this song made it to the list, I haven't listen to it in quite a while... ot mad though.
2. Hard by SHINee
I must admit, I haven't had SHINee on my radar until Hard. I don't know why... I new some songs, but it wasn't something special to me. And then came Hard 😅 I saw some live videos of them and fell hard...
3. Komet by Udo Lindenberg and Apache207
This is a collaboration I didn't see coming and never knew I needed! Apache207 is usually not my kind of music (Udo also not my regular music taste), but this song... damn I love it! I don't know why, but the beat is just so good and the lyrics are perfect! I could listen (and have) to this on repeat for hours. Just a feel good music especially when driving (doesn't matter what transportation). It is just a song while listening to it you want to look through a window and just think about your life or you want to turn up the volume and sing along!
4. Chemical by Post Malone
This song is on a playlist I listen to a lot lately... I didn't notice I listen to it that often. It is quite nice, but nothing I would search for activley to listen to. But a good song. I don't skip it, when it is on.
5. Cardigan by Tayler Swift
Another song I wouldn't think it would come up here 😅 I never was a Swifty, but lately I catch myself listening to her songs and sing along and liking her stuff. And whenever this song comes up, I do play it a second time. It has such a flow that my brain wants to listen to it longer. And it is such a song for autumn... I mean... it just has a autumn vibe... I see rain and darkness and a blanket on a couch when I listen to this song.
6. Older by Sasha Alex Sloan
You know these songs you listen to, but you have no clue how you ended up with it on your playlist? This is one of those songs for me. Guess I was very emotional when I put it on one of my playlists... This song just hits differently... the lyrics are chef's kiss and feel like they've been carved out of my own brain... Damn, my music is kind of an emotional dumbster fire rigt now... just as my emotions are 💃
7. In The Stars by Benson Boone
Yeah... speaking o about emotions... I have some days of thinking about life and stuff behind me... I love this song, especially when he sings together with the choir. Sometimes I just need music, that I can relate to. I love K-Pop, but it is nice to just understand what you are listen to without the need of a translation and just to feel the lyrics.
8. Still Fighting by LUCY
I love LUCY. Their songs are always a blast for my ears and my brain. It is one of the bands I wish I could see live. They have such a great stage perfomance and energy. And there is so much power in the voice! I can get lost in it and the melody and everything...
9. Halley's Comet by Oneus
I am a huge Oneus fan. They have a specialty for building up their chorus and bridge. Their songs just give me eargasms and I am addicted to them! I have to close my eyes and feel their music with my whole body. This might be a little it strange when I am outside but at some age you just don't care anymore what people think about you 😅
10. Bite Me by Enhypen
This song had me with the very first second. The beginning of it is just so good! There are parts of the song I don't like that much, but overall this is a really good song. And yes, I sing along even though I have no clue what I am singing and yes, it sounds awful! My collegues at work would confirm this...
Well, these are my 10 shuffle-songs from my On Repeat playlist. I just listen to it now and give myself to the strange mix of "What was I made for" and "Ring Ding Dong"...
I have absolutely no clue who has done this one already, because I am always late to these games, but I tag you nevertheless hehehe... Just ignore me, if you don't want to or you already have done this one @pose4photoml @leonpob @nieves-de-sugui @youdontloveme-yet @bl-bam-beyond @i-got-the-feels

“She wondered whether there would ever come an hour in her life when she didn’t think of him; didn’t speak to him in her head, didn’t relive every moment they’d been together, didn’t long for his voice and his hands and his love. She had never dreamed of what it would feel like to love someone so much […] She thought the tenderness it left in her heart was like a bruise that would never go away, but she would cherish it forever.”

in love like
highschool au
contains: toothrotting fluff, first kiss, starker for the whole family
——————————————————
How could anyone not be in love with Peter Parker? Tony sure was. God, just staring at the back of his head every day in AP Biology was exhilarating. Those chestnut brown, fluffy, slightly tousled curls. Big doe eyes with ridiculously long eyelashes. Not to mention the biggest, kindest heart and the intellect.
Tony Stark, in love? Nah. Just... deeply in like.
"Ask him out, Stark." Nat said one day at lunch, catching Tony staring at Peter again.
"Pfft. Me? And Peter Parker? No way."
"You're just scared he's going to reject you."
"Bet."
"Ask him out by the end of this week."
"Or what?"
Nat smirks. "I'll figure something out. Deal?"
"Deal." They shake hands.
And so the challenge begins. It proves to be much harder than Tony thought it'd be. This is a first for him. Tony Stark never asked anyone out. People asked him out, not the other way around.
Every time Tony had a chance, he chickened out.
Like when Peter and Tony were alone in the classroom together after class, waiting for the teacher.
"So how d'you think you did on the test, Tony?" Peter had asked him, tilting his head and smiling.
Smiling. And Tony lost his cool. "Um, I think, yeah, uh, I think I did... okay?"
The other boy hadn't even done anything and Tony was stuttering and blubbering all over the place oh god Nat's going to make him wear a skirt to school or something--
Peter interrupts his train of thought. "Cool. I'm sure you did really well, Tony. You're super smart." The brunet says, beaming at him.
Tony smiles weakly. "Thanks, Peter. I'm sure you did well too." And he readies himself to ask-- "Um, Peter?"
"Yeah?" Peter replies, hopping onto a table to sit and swinging his legs.
He's so cute so pure oh my god he's gonna reject me I don't deserve such an angel of a human being--
"Um, nothing. What class do you have next?" Tony groans inwardly. Fuck. Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck.
"I have Journalism. You?"
And their moment is over as Mr Lindenberg walks into the classroom.
But it happened when Peter didn't catch the bus and took the ride Tony offered him.
"Thanks so much, Tony. I don't know what I would've done if you hadn't been here. I have a shift at Delmar's at 5!" Peter says gratefully, looking at Tony admiringly.
Don't blush, don't blush, don't-- "It's nothing. No big deal." Goddamnit, he's blushing.
"I wanna return the favour! Is there anything I can do for you?" Peter asks, turning those big brown bambi eyes on him.
Ask him out, go on a date, ask if you can take him out goddamnit!
Tony took a deep breath. In, out, in, out. "Actually, yeah." In, out, in, out. "Would you... liketogooutwithmesometimeit'sokayifyoudon'twanttoIcompletelyunderstand."
Peter's brows furrow. "Would I... what?"
Tony bets his ears are red right now. In fact, his whole entire body is heating up. This is so embarrassing, god.
"Would you like to go out with me sometime? It's okay if you don't want to, I--"
Tony stops abruptly when Peter grins widely.
"Of course! I was wondering when you'd ask."
Tony's head is spinning. He said yes. He said yes. He said yes!
"Can I kiss you?" Tony asks, hesitantly.
Peter cups Tony's cheeks with his hands and brings his face close.
Up close, Peter is even more beautiful.
Their lips touch and Tony's heart bursts with happiness.

My Top 20 Albums
So @jesuiskafka tagged me to list my top 20 favourite albums like forever ago. Thank you! I finally decided to put it out, even though it's kinda personal. This is quite difficult, since I usually only like a couple of songs by artists other than my all time favourite bands. But I tried to put some variety into this instead of just listing all Linkin Park and Green Day albums. It's mostly stuff from my childhood & teenage years.
Post Traumatic (2018) – Mike Shinoda: The album that got me through a very difficult time and helped me deal with my grief for Chester. It's like a dear friend. Whenever the darkness of depression creeps up on me again I listen to “Can't Hear You Now” and it makes me feel better.
Meteora (2003) – Linkin Park: The first LP album I ever owned. I love how energetic it is! Includes my fav LP song “Numb” and is just really nostalgic. I love their later albums just as much as the first two though!
American Idiot (2004) – Green Day: The first album overall I ever owned. Includes my fav GD song “Boulevard Of Broken Dreams”. It shaped my taste in music a lot, as it was the first thing I decided to listen to – not because my parents, sisters or anybody else did.
Technology (2018) – Don Broco: One of the very few newer bands on this list. I discovered them thanks to Mike Shinoda and really liked their sound, energy and stage presence. Their music kinda reminds me of my beloved pop punk from my teenage years. “Everybody” is a very fun song, even though it was written about the band almost giving up on music and dying in a car accident.
Still Not Getting Any… (2004) – Simple Plan: Call them emo or over-dramatic as much as you want. “Perfect World” actually saved my live when I was really close to ending it all as a teenager. Can't listen to that song anymore.
Dead Letters (2003) – The Rasmus: We discovered this Finnish rock band in a pretty weird way. The news here used to play snippets from music videos before they started. And my sisters and me loved “In The Shadows” with all the ravens and stuff.
Fallen (2003) – Evanesence: I don't like too many female singers (guess their voices are just too high and annoying for me), but Amy Lee is definitely one of them. There are many great songs on this album, but I especially loved “Bring Me to Life”.
True (2013) – Avicii: My sister really loves EDM and Avicii was one of the first DJs she ever listened to. “Hey Brother” will always be our “sister song”. Avicii's tragic death hit us pretty hard.
Made in Switzerland (2006) – Gotthard: As you can probably guess by the album's title, this is a Swiss rock band – named after a mountain. They are basically cultural goods here, so it's no wonder we even sang their “One Life One Soul” in school. They lost their lead singer Steve Lee to a tragic accident in 2010.
Under My Skin (2004) – Avril Lavigne: My sisters and me wanted to be like Avril, a cool “skater girl”. I still think “Nobody's Home” is a really beautiful song.
Good Morning Revival (2007) – Good Charlotte: Pop punk just was my favourite genre as a teenager and “The River” (featuring members of Avenged Sevenfold) rocks.
Underclass Hero (2007)  – Sum 41: Another pop punk band I love since forever. “With Me” is a beautiful song.
Dark Light (2005) – HIM: Another Finnish rock band my sisters and I liked. “Wings of a Butterfly” is a really cool song - that guitar riff!
Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace (2008) – The Offspring: My other sister liked this punk rock band. I remember driving around in her car when she first got her license and blasting “You're Gonna Go Far, Kid” – good times!
Stadium Arcadium (2006) – Red Hot Chili Peppers: When I was a teenager I often listened to music while falling asleep. “Snow (Hey Oh)” was the perfect calming song for that.
Automatic for the People (1992) – R.E.M.: My dad loves music too, so I got to listen to many different bands growing up. I always liked R.E.M. and their “Man on the Moon”.
Once in a Lifetime (1988) – Runrig: Another one inspired by my dad – a celtic rock band with a unique sound. “Protect and Survive” is a great song.
MTV Unplugged (2011) – Udo Lindenberg: This German singer is one of my dad's favourite artists. He might look strange but he has some pretty thoughtful songs. I was especially impressed by “Das Leben”, where he sings: “Take your own life – and never let it go.”
Secret World Live (1994) – Peter Gabriel: Of course my dad also introduced me to classics like this one. I really like “Solsbury Hill”.
Gold (Greatest Hits) (1992) – ABBA: My mum is the only member of our family who isn't that music-crazy. She does love disco though. “Mamma Mia” is a fun song that reminds me of my mum singing, laughing and dancing.
Feel free to do it too (you can just make a list without oversharing as much as I did ^^'): @harreki, @playdrawread, @linkinbert, @feelingsofaithless, @introvertedemotrash, @iwillruletheuniverse, @linkinparkfanish
