Hope Island (1999-2000) (US/Canadian Adaptation of Ballykissangel) | Link to All Episodes and Google Doc of Info

This is the end result of a project that has taken me down a rabbit hole for a few months now!

Thanks to a very helpful member of the Lost Media Discord, I now have all 22 episodes of Hope Island to share with anyone who wishes to watch it!

I have also created a Google Doc (here) that is full of information about the show, fanfiction, character and cast bios, scripts for the first 5 episodes, interviews, and so much more - all found from various places on the internet, including various fansites, and even a website that was made in the early 00s to campaign to save the show from its fate.

I have also created a Pinterest board (here) where I have saved any BTS/character/location pictures that I discovered.

Here are all 22 episodes available to stream/download on OneDrive:

I have also uploaded all of the episodes and a Word Document version of my Google Doc (there is a link to the Google Doc within for the most up-to-date version) to the Internet Archive in an attempt to preserve the show for anyone online who wishes to watch:

I know not many people will be interested in Hope Island, and those who are, probably only due to it being a Ballykissangel adaptation, but I'd love it if some of you would give the show a try - I had to watch all of the episodes in preparation for this, and I have so many thoughts that I have no one to share them with xD

My Feelings After Recent Events...

(( Talked about the current situation on the revival on my main blog (@theofficialdramallama), but wanted to say this - whatever happens with the revival, I will try my best to keep this blog going. I’ve loved the original series since I was young, but never had fellow fans to gush about it with. However, since the revival was announced, and the creation of this sideblog, I’ve made many lovely friends on Tumblr. @peterstanslizzie, @onlyprinsesa-blog, @beautywithin16, @dream-beyond-the-fantasy, @hollyjwonders, @rrs1489, you’ve all put up with my squeeing over this show, and even encouraged me to write my Lizzie fanfics when I felt that I wasn’t good enough. I will continue to RP on this blog (still looking for a Gordo :P) and I will continue to write fanfic for both the original series and the revival.

And so, as a thank you, and because we all feel pretty sucky right now, I have something that might help us all feel just a little better...

Everyone I have tagged, I am giving you an opportunity to send me (by private message or by asks) a fic idea based around the original series, the revival or the time in between. It can be a prompt from a meme post, or something you’ve always wanted to be brought to life. Some categories of ideas you can send in may be:

I just wanted to let you know that your reblogs of Lois and Clark have made me but the first season on DVD. Hopefully I enjoy as much as when I was a kid.

Hi! We haven’t chatted in so long. I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole. Over the summer I did a re-watch of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman and now with Smallville’s Clois being part of COIE I’ve been having a marathon of that series. Are you a fan of both? I found I did love it as much as a kid and then seeing some episodes realizing how cheesy and campy the nineties Lois & Clark were. I’m a hopeless romantic so I ate it up. I mean just look at Dean and Teri, they made Lois and Clark so passionate, comedic, sexy and romantic. Tom and Erica’s Clois are just as gorgeous too. I guess you can say I’ve been a sucker for them and Superman from the age of 8. I think you’ll enjoy them too. Hope you’re well? “I’m better when I’m with you.”

12:32 AM.

Lizzie couldn’t sleep. Staring up at the ceiling, she sighed. Her mind was spinning with all the thoughts inside her head.

Bethany Jacobs. Gordo. Gordo and Bethany.

Maybe she shouldn’t have shouted at him in the parking lot of the high school dance. Maybe she shouldn’t have accused him of rubbing the fact that he had a girlfriend while she had nobody in her face. On the other hand, he really didn’t have to blurt out that... What were the words? Oh yeah, that she kept falling for assholes, and it was her fault why she was all alone.

Tap.

It did get pretty heated between the two of them, and Lizzie had stormed off back home, ignoring Gordo’s pleas to stay. It wasn’t her fault Brad had called her an hour before the dance to tell her that he was ditching the dance for another girl. She didn’t tell that to Gordo however - he’d be right yet again, and somehow Lizzie couldn’t handle that on top of everything else she felt.

Tap.

What was that sound? Climbing out of bed, she pulled apart the curtain, peeking out her bedroom window. The sight before her made her gasp.

Gordo, dressed in a tuxedo, throwing stones at her window.

She made her way outside, careful not to wake her parents. “Gordo, what are you doing here? Where’s Bethany?” Gordo shook his head, “You were right. I was trying to rub it in. I’m sorry.” Lizzie sighed. “I’m sorry too. You were right - Brad ditched me.”

Lizzie would have continued, but Gordo’s fingers interlacing with hers made her pause.

“I’m better when I’m with you. I... I wanted to take you to the dance, but before I could say anything, you were going with Brad. I missed my chance, and I used Bethany to try and make myself feel better, and I was wrong. I wanted you to be my date, Lizzie.”

“Ditto.”

They stayed like that for a while, laying in the garden and staring at the stars. They knew that when the sun rose again, they would have to figure out the feelings they both shared, but for now, this was enough. They were better when they were together, and that was enough.
