Idk how anyone can play music rhythm games on anything but a touchscreen tbh. Like buttons are just too sluggish for that kind of precise microsecond, glancing-past timing.

Trying to play on physical controls feels like trying to play running sports with metal reinforced shoes, it's just way way too sluggish and swamp-y

(I did this in university btw, by treating my horseback riding shoes as my sports shoes because I was an idiot)

Like it's one thing with games that are hybridized genre games that genuinely benefit from gamepad controls like NecroDancer, Thumper, or MadRat Dead. But otherwise, I genuinely can't comprehend how anyone else tolerates it...

(Though maybe I'd revise that opinion if I had ever tried or had access to a mechanical keyboard or gamepad with mechanical buttons, idk...)
