I joined this Pokemon Academy roleplay group back on deviantart (oof) where all the characters were gijinka. One of my OCs was this little Magikarp girl named Maggie (I think), she wore overalls, had big black glasses, freckles, ugh she was adorable. Obvs she was super clumsy and not very good at school but she had a big heart ❤️

This was back when I used to draw! I drew a character page for her! And even some little comics of her with other characters in the group! And it was all physical that I scanned in lmao bc we didn't have any digital art programs other than Paint xD So I might still have it around somewhere, idek.

A little out of left field from what you were asking but I don't make OCs that often and man I loved that RP group. My other OC was a Tauros boy 🥰

Charcherry Weekly - Issue 104

Hello, Mage of Light Nick Card here. It's been quite the week with lots of action from the festival and the tournament. Let's begin!

Last week, Prince of Time Aeons Edgeworth and Mayor Brae Emit kicked off the Unity Village Summer Festival. The event managed to attract a great deal of travelers, trainers, and wanderers to bother the village and Desertia Town. The real spectacle however was the Gym Leader tournament that occurred during the span of the festival.

The first match was Rise vs Maggie. Maggie's team was comprised of three Magikarp, one pink, one purple, and the last one gold. Rise's team included Shadow the Torracat, Atlas the Machoke, and Azumarill. Rise had minimal difficulty dispatching of Maggie's Magikarp, until she pulled out a golden one that knew hydro pump. This ace up her sleeve proved to not be enough to best Rise's team however. After Rise defeated Maggie's team, Maggie dropped out of the tournament.

The second match was Jovin vs Anton. Jovin's team had Mr. Fish the Gyrados, Hercules the Machop, and Shroom the Breloom. Anton's team consisted of Primeape, Infernape, and Pangoro. Anton's pokemon proved to be tough, but Jovin's pokemon struck harder.

The third match was between Rise and and Hissnclack. Rise's team was unchanged from before. Hiss's team had Slash the Scyther, Bash the Scizor, and Hack the Klevor. Hiss's Scyther line team put up a good fight, but ultimately was not prepared for the variety and cunning of Rise's team.

The fourth match was between Rise and Anton. Both had the same teams as before. Anton's pokemon proved to be a relentless challenge, using unorthodox strategies to occasionally gain the upper hand, but Rise's team was able to hold on just long enough to make it out on top. A highlight of the match was an impressive maximum power Endeavor from Anton's Infernape, which was able to nearly knock out Rise's Azumarill. That particular round ended in a double knockout, on account of Azumarill's bounce hitting both Infernape and a number of strategically placed stealth rocks.

The fifth match was between Hissnclack and Anton. Hiss's bug types managed to provide a challenge to Anton's team, but it wasn't enough to counter Anton's unique strategic directions. Hiss decided to forfeit for the sake of caring more about his pokemon than pushing further towards victory.

The sixth match was between Hissnclack and Jovin. I can't seem to remember much of this match, aside from the fact that it was a close match that was ultimately won by Jovin's team.

The final battle was between Jovin and Rise. It was an incredibly climactic battle to behold. Atlas and Hercules faced off first. Despite being unevolved, Hercules proved to be a formidable opponent to Atlas. In the end, Atlas' speed proved to be a valuable asset. Atlas fought against Shroom next. Rise had set up a rather ambitious strategy, trying to utilize Atlas's Guts ability to hit harder and slower with Revenge while paralyzed from Shroom's stun spore, but their paralysis proved to be too much of a detriment to work. Rise was forced to return Atlas out of concern for his health. Rise then called out Shadow, hoping that the type advantage would work in their favor. Jovin's Shroom, despite being weak to fire, held its own impressively against Shadow, who seemed unable to land a good fiery chomp against it. Shroom whittled Shadow down until they fainted, forcing Rise to call out Azumarill. Azumarill proved to fight hard and dirty with Play Rough, but in the end, Azumarill's roughhousing wasn't enough to contend against Mr. Fish. Azumarill appeared to have gotten exhausted in the latter half of the matchup, and this is likely what lead to his downfall.

With the conclusion of this match, the round robin was completed. Rise had won two matches (not counting the third with Maggie), Anton had won once, Hissnclack did not win at all, and Jovin won three times. With these results, it is clear that Page of Rage Jovin Castle will become the gym leader of Unity Village. However, the ending ceremony of the festival never occurred. Aeons Edgeworth, the primary organizer involved, has been declared missing, having not sent a message since thursday afternoon. A scattered search party was formed and yet there was no clues to their whereabouts. The search will continue until a lead of some sort is found. I do wonder if there's any clues in Desertia Town...

It is currently unknown if the stand locations in Unity Village will be used beyond the festival week, though the bases of the stands are still standing.

I think that covers enough for now. I've been incredibly busy with working on the flash animation for left beef, being 35.5 seconds in so far (out of 3 minutes total). I may need to hire outside assistance on asset drawing due to the sheer number of background and foreground elements that need to be drawn, as I do not want to have the audience wait forever for such a momentous update. Time to continue the nuzlocke

Team Aqua’s up to no good again.

My first encounter on Route 116 was a Whismur, which is kind of disappointing because that’s the only thing that can be encountered in Rusturf Tunnel so this kind of feels like a waste.

I named her Wispa

This Team Aqua grunt is just causing all sorts of trouble

Wispa beat his Poochyena easily

I did

They took me to see Devon’s president

Apparently I’m now Devon Corporations errand girl

But I get a free Pokenav out of it.

Outside a Devon worker upgrades my PokeNav so it can call people.  Which really seems like that should have come with the basic package.  Like Silphs Pokegear came with a phone system.

I ran into Brendan

Beat him easily but it was almost a close call for Wormy.

After that we went to Mr.Briney’s house and asked him to take us to Dewford

I got an old fishing rod so I decided to fish in the little bit of water that’s in the town.

I fished up a Magikarp

And accidentally killed it cause I forgot that Uproar hits multiple times

But its ok cause I fished up another one on route 106 and caught that one.

I called her Maggie.

I caught an Aron in Granite Cave

I couldn’t think of a name for Aron so I just tried to think of what name would be ridiculous when she finally evolves into an Aggron

I found Steven and gave him the letter

I then went straight back to Rustboro to get the EXP Share (usually I forget it until half way through the game)

I took out Baby and added her to the team, I boxed Snooze.

And then we went to Dewfords Gym.  Apparently they forgot to pay their electricity bill.

Made it past the trainers using Wormy and went to challenge Brawley.  I was less nervous for this fight than I was for Roxanne even if I was under leveled.  I have Wormy and Gully they should be able to handle it.

Wormy took out his Machop and Meditite

And I bought Gully out for Makuhita.  Despite being two levels lower I thought it’d be fine.

Unfortunately I was wrong.  Things were going well but then Makuhita used Reversal which does more damage the less HP a Pokemon has.  So even though it looked like Gully could easily win she got hit with this and died.

I finished him off with Wormy and got the Knuckle Badge.

After healing and adding Maggie to the team I sailed with Mr. Briney again and battled a load of trainers on a beach

And this guy was so impressed I got free soda

Went into Slateport City

Uhhhh?  Is no one the least bit concerned about that?

Went to the Shipyard to deliver the Goods

Errand work continues

The line of Team Aqua had disappeared.  I like that they all paid to get in except this one grunt.  They’re like environmental terrorists but they support educational services.

Found Capt. Stern on the second floor.

Team Aqua tries to take the parts.  I beat them easily.

My Pokemon Team

Yeah no one asked for this. But I have literally been building this team in my head since I since I was 8. So here they are!!!!:)

Evie: An eevee literally with the same name but different spelling. Lets say I got Evie when I was very little as an egg, hence the lack of unique naming. She's my closest pokemon. We've been threw every adventure together and have grown. To most trainers surprise, she's most powerful pokemon. She won't let her size stop her from battling. She still doesn't know what she wants to evolve into or even evolve at all but thats ok. Her nature is kind, caring and determined as hell. Oh! And she wears a pink bow around her neck and ear ( one on each ear if she's feelin extra cute uwu ).

Lola: A vulpix. The first pokemon I caught. Would be as op as Evie if she battled more. Prefers contests but will finish a fight if she or any of us are insulted. Is very protective of Evie. They're practically sisters. Double battles with these two are epic! Her nature is prim and proper with a sparkle of sass. Wears a turquoise scarf but has a collection of other colors of course.

Tux: A luxray. He was found as an injured shinx. Lola took extra care in nursing him back to health. This ultimately lead to them falling for each other. He evolved not by saving Lola but me cuz I'm an f-ing klutz. Almost slipped of a rocky cliffside we took as a shortcut. So he evolved for the third time to catch me cuz he's a sweety under all that suaveness. He'll wear a bowtie occasionally.

Sammy: A salamence. So salamence are suppose to be 4ft (in the game). Yeah no. This dude is a whopping 9'7ft behemoth. No clue how he got that big but he did. Found him fully evolved. Was feared by the locals for no reason. They just made assumptions because of his size and scars ( which were actually caused by hunters). Poor old Sammy was so lonely so we took him in. He's so nice! He's like the dad of the team. Uses his wings to shield us from rain and other things. Is always down to cuddle when we camp outside for the night. Is almost tied with Evie on the score charts.

Claire: A dragonair. Is actually male but he likes his name even though I thought he was a girl ( oops). Was abandoned by trainer because he refused to become a dragonite. Is the same age as Sammy who he's practically married to. He's the second dad of the team. Also down for snuggles when camping. Gives Lola and Tux dating advice. Receives wild flowers from Sammy.

Zed: A riolu. He's the baby brother of the team. Took care of him as an egg. Everyone took shifts to keep the egg warm. Evie nearly bit a saviper's head off when they tried to steal the egg. She doesn't know the move bite but that saviper sure felt something. We all cried when Zed hatched. He was so small! And still is uwu. Doesn't like to be babied anymore but will still let me carry him when he naps. Can't wait to be a strong lucario someday. Wears a ninja headband.

Maggie: A gyrados. Named her Maggie for magikarp cuz I didn't think she'd evolve so quickly. Found her stuck under drift wood after a bad storm on the shore. Sammy carried her in his mouth with seawater as we rushed to a center. Got her an inflatable kiddie pool but she cant fit in it anymore. Loves to let us ride on her back when we go swimming. Is the most chill gyrados I ever met.

Tobby: a bulbasaur. Found him in a forest area with a bruise on his head. Had no clue why until he kept running into things. Turns out he needed glasses so he wears big circled ones that make his eyes look extra cute. Prefers contests over battles. Is the same age as Zed so they're both the babies of the team. Actually likes being babied for the attention.

Kuro: A darkrai! He's so cool and powerful. But super shy. Couldn't use him in battles at first cuz he kept hiding in my shadow. Befriended Zed and Evie first and would only come out around them. He loves hugs! Has come out of his shell a lot but still very quiet. Wears a sakura blossom pendant.

Mew: Just mew. A mew I met as a kid when I only had Evie. Gave them snacks so they kept coming to visit and play with us. Didn't know they were a legendary until after they stopped visiting. Appears at random moments during my pokemon journey. Unlike most of my pokemon they won't just let me catch them. I need to defeat them first. Which I haven't since they're hella strong. But I will someday.

I'd have a lot more pokemon but these are my faves:)

His scales are super smooth and he loves carrying me around and lighting scented candles! He loves the smell, and even tried to eat one once, but that didn’t go too well, teehee!

They love working together with themselves and the rest of my team and absolutely adore cooking shows! We watch Chopped on my phone a lot and they’re always sure not to get too close so the phone stays safe.

This is Squawky!

He’s a big friendly fella who’s just a bit too loud sometimes. He likes to greet new friends, but he’s always sad when his hello shriek makes their ears bleed. Poor little guy, he’ll master volume control one day.

This is Flowey!

Flowey is a sugary sweet little buddy who can get a bit grumpy sometimes, but sitting in the sun always cheers him right up! His favorite season is spring and he loves watching all the pretty yellow flowers bloom!

And finally, meet Deathlord!

Deathlord is fed on a healthy diet of magikarp candies and the flesh of those who couldn’t swim away fast enough! He just loves to crunch his way through the soft, supple bodies of our opponents and then vaporize anything that’s left with his trusty hyper beam! He likes to flop around, but one time he accidentally destroyed an island so he’s not allowed to do that anymore. I just love him so much <3

It’s the last hour of 2017 here, so I thought I’d take some time to reflect on the past year:

January

     -Nothing much happened in the beginning of the year, but I did turn 17

February

     -I put together a space ace outfit which I absolutely love. Some other, more  bitter folks weren’t fans, but I couldn’t care less what aphobes think, so

     -I discovered the Book of Mormon!! That musical is so big to me now and is referenced so often just in everyday conversation. I’m so glad I finally listened to/watched it

     -Eric called Aaron “Babe.” I died

     -My city’s HRO updated to include protections for LGBTQ+ citizens on Valentine’s Day because love~

March

     -I got my chest binder!!

     -I came out to my first teacher on accident because I have no self-control and made a joke about my gender. Eh. Gotta do it somehow

     -Broke out the pink-blue-white aesthetic for TDoV

April

     -My blog turned five because I am permanently trapped here

     -I went to Let’s Play Live Orlando!!! Seeing AH live was wild, man

     -Andi Mack premiered!! The show I have waited for for so long

May

     -I went to my first prom and got to wear a suit to it

     -Agender Pride Day happened. That’s always fun

     -Magikarp Jump came out and I got so many Titans

June

     -Pride Month!!!!!

     -I finished up my junior year of high school

     -I started my first job, which was a summer job at an LGBTQ+ resource center

     -I went to a museum’s Pride event with my family and got to experience one of my things with them

July

     -I went to Bible camp for a week which was not that great, but I went zip-lining over mountains and kayaking, which was fun, so not all bad either

     -I saw professionally recorded Falsettos in theaters and got to cry with a bunch of strangers

     -Non-Binary People’s Day is also a lot of fun, especially since Hufflepuff colors go so well with it

August

     -I finished up my time with my job, which was sad because I actually really liked it

     -My senior year of high school started with stress

     -Going into the school year, I moved up to VP of our GSA and I started wearing a pronoun pin everyday/going by Mickey everywhere

     -This is also the first month I remember my sister using they/them pronouns for me

September

     -Hurricane Irma swept through, wiping out streets and buildings and power and giving us a week off school

     -I went to my first Pride parade!!! And I was in it!!!!!

October

     -Went to my second Pride festival and got a lot of queer merch

     -Got senior pictures done. It absolutely sucked, but it was a senior thing that I did and that made me feel cool (I really hope we get other photos done...)

     -I got to be a scare actor again and scare a bunch of people in costume. Some people were more touchy-feely with their fear than I would’ve liked, but it was still fun

     -Halloween came and I dressed as a Southern gay that was not me (I can’t bake)

November

     -Gay camp!! I spent a weekend in the woods with a bunch of gays and I led a workshop on gender that I came up with during work 

     -I watched 19/24 hours of RT Extra Life and got to fully experience what “For the Kids” means for viewers

     -Eric and Aaron adopted their beautiful daughter Gracie and began raising her in the Hilltop alongside their buddies Maggie and Glenn, who are raising their children Enid and Herschell Jr.

     -DD and I hit our 10 year friendiversary!!! We’ve been friends for ten years now!!!!!

     -I submitted my college applications and freed myself from that stress

December

     -I bought a video camera with the money I got from my job!!! (I'm really excited to start putting that to use...)

     -I put together a chapbook of my poetry and looking at it beside the picture book I wrote in kindergarten makes me emotional

     -I got some college application issues resolved and actually freed myself from application worry. I got accepted into the two colleges that had my application

     -My mom got me a Brent Burns Sharks jersey which was so awesome it gets its own little bullet point here

     -I’m spending the last few days of the year in the Happiest Place on Earth and DD joined us partway through so I’m experiencing the shift into 2018 with her. It’s all just been really amazing!!!

So there were a lot of bad things that happened (obviously), and I’m not sure I’d consider 2017 a “good year,” but quite a few notable things did happen in my life. Overall, I’m just really excited for 2018. I feel like it’s got some good things in store
