Baby Obi-Wan once stared so hard into the Force that he was never the same. Ever since he joined the creche the Masters knew there was something... off about the little one. They weren't quite sure what to think of the littlest of the younglings. He always seemed to know things he shouldn't and offered words that often intimidated padawans, knights, and even gained concerned expressions from seasoned masters.
The guards in the temple were less amused when he learned to properly shield himself. Gifted in the art of shielding, Obi-Wan tended to wander from his creche. Normally, a wandering youngling wouldn't be a problem. Where one youngling lingered, a sentinel was hiding in the shadows not too far away. Obi-Wan Kenobi, however, finds the right moment to slip away.
When questioned what he is doing so far from his creche, Obi-Wan always answers, "Force says so."
Qui-Gon keeps stumbling upon a small ginger boy when he finds himself alone. The first time was a memorable experience. It is, after all, the first time Qui-Gon met his future apprentice.
"What are you doing?" And the voice makes Qui-Gon pause in his walk. A youngling is staring at him from behind a pillar.
"Thinking," he answers honestly. The boy, probably no older than four or five, steps out and walks up to him, arms held out in demand to be picked up. Qui-Gon obliges and settles him on his hip, changing his destination to the creches. "Why aren't you with your creche?"
"The masters say I should listen to the Force. The Force says I should be here. With you."
Qui-Gon's lips quirk upward. "Is that so, little one? What else does it tell you?"
The youngling tilts his head, blue eyes shining. Qui-Gon feels like he isn't being seen despite the boy's eyes clearly on him. "Nothing you should know yet," the boy says.
Qui-Gon doesn't ask any more questions, too stumped to know what to ask the boy. The boy of course takes Qui-Gon's silence as his cue to talk. He offers his name as Obi-Wan Kenobi and tells him all about his friend Quinlan who sees things when he touches stuff and- "He doesn't see stuff when he holds my hand because my shields are good. Did you know the guards don't like it when I leave? Guard Feemor says I shield too hard."
And doesn't that take Qui-Gon by surprise. "Is that so?" Temple guards wore masks to protect their identities. Qui-Gon wasn't aware his former padawan took rotations as a guard.
Obi-Wan replies easily, "He doesn't know I know."
Qui-Gon quickly returns the youngling to his creche. The second escape and return allows Obi to decide he likes this master. It's the seventh escapade from their first meeting that the guards and creche masters and even passing jedi learn that when Obi-Wan goes missing he's with Qui-Gon.

Actually, speaking of Obi-wan, my brain's been on some alternate order 66 codywan crack for like, the past day and a half.
cause, in the Clone Wars tv series, there's this line relating to the chips and 'the nightmare(s) is(are) over now' (it's been a really long time I can't remember the line exactly) and it's ingrained this idea that the clones actually suffer from nightmares as a side effect of the chips.
So picture this: Cody accidentally mentions the nightmares around Obi-wan, and because I need for him to for the ... "plot" to happen, Obi suggests a Force Thing that he learned in Jedi Therapy when he was a padawan (that he may or may not remember entirely correctly, which ever way is more helpful for the ... "plot")
and it's basically just dream sharing that allows Cody to lucid dream and over write his nightmares.
which incidentally over writes the chips.
which incidentally have a bluetooth connection and a program hierarchy and ongoing updates between them so Cody's "updated" order list (a series of dreams in which he has a good time actually) take precedent over the subordination chips and slowly the over written commands spread through the GAR like a silent viral infection.
Which would be fine for everyone involved except for one thing.
Order 66.
Because Order 66 in Cody's nightmares starts with Obi-wan lying dead in a puddle of his own blood. And he couldn't quite push past the horror and fear the image instilled in him, so Obi-wan was a little more hands on with that dream, and oh, it's not Obi lying dead in a puddle of blood, it's Obi sprawled in red silk telling Cody everything is going to be alright.
And then feelings... got a little heated and unlike many of the other dreams Obi-wan and Cody end up calling each other's names a lot.
(It is important to note, that in this scenario even though Obi-wan did step in, the mood and direction of the dream were still under Cody's control.)
Which is good because when order 66 is called by Palpatine, the entire GAR isn't focused on kriffing the nearest Jedi, ("Kriff the Jedi, all of them!") they're focused on making sure Cody kriffs Obi-wan (in red silk sheets) specifically.
And for that someone has to sit on Anakin for a few hours.
And kill Palpatine.
And make sure the war is mopped up.
(and red silk sheets are located)

We Want That one
This is a Satine/Cody/Obi Wan of a flavor that I have not seen before and hope to see more of. It takes a bit there but I think it will be worth the wait.
At the end of the mission to Mandalore, Obi Wan decides to stay with Satine and leave the Jedi Order. Now it is important to note this is done with Qui Gon’s full and loving support.  In this one Qui Gon is not a raging asshole with many issues and trauma (Melida/Daan happened and after it did both Qui Gon and Obi Wan were required to go to therapy-both separately and together- before they were allowed to go on mission together again). Also it is important to note that in this one ‘Will of the Force’ is not an excuse Qui gon uses to do whatever the hell he wants. The Force does actually have OPINIONS that it will share with specific Jedi (There is no tie to power, abilities, position, or previous messages for who will get a specific message. There is a tie, though not complete because the Force has other measures that mortals cannot comprehend, between who is making the decision the Force has an opinion on and which Jedi gets the message).  The Force did let both Obi Wans and Qui Gon know that it fully supported Obi Wan leaving the Jedi to be with Satine.
So Obi Wan returns to the temple to formally leave the Order, get comm codes for people he wants to stay in touch with, and his remaining things from his room.  He is allowed to keep his lightsaber and encouraged to keep his login to the Temple Archives so he could keep learning.  Six months after he returns to Mandalore, he and Satine marry with his Jedi friends and family in attendance. A year after that their son Korkie is born. He and Satine take up the mantle of Duke and Duchess and balance each other well.  Though Satine remains a pacifist, she does not begrudge her husband not being one and the addition of Obi Wan lessens the power of some of her more odious advisers. At some point within the first few years Death Watch attacks and through a series of strange and unfortunate (for Death Watch) both Satine and Obi Wan simultaneously defeat Pre Vizsla and win the Darksaber. They both take on the title of Mandalore jointly and unite the clans. The stabilization of Mandalore goes largely unnoticed by the republic (Including Sidiuous and Plagieus, they both just kind of assumed that everything was going as planned)
Now we come to the Naboo mission, a few years down the line. There is little change to the start, save for the places where we are missing Obi Wan. Qui Gon still ends up, with Padme, on Tatooine and helps free Anakin. The High Council is still leery of Anakin and accepting him. Qui Gon is still adamant that this child must be trained. Padme is still tricked into calling for a vote of no confidence. There does come a change when Qui Gon meets up with Padme again as they conspire to return to Naboo. Qui Gon gets an idea and puts in a call to someone he is sure Padme should talk to immediately. When the call connects, greet the pair on the other end as Duke and Duchess Mand’alor.  The man, Obi Wan, sighs deeply and turns to Padme, and in the driest tone she had ever heard goes, ‘I apologize for Qui Gon. He thinks he’s funny and no one has ever been able to disabuse him of that notion. We can be either called Mand’alor, or duke/duchess, you do not need to call us both’.
Qui Gon explains what is going on with Naboo and Satine immediately goes to Padme, ‘Oh, you poor thing, we will get you some humanitarian aid immediately, right dear?’  to which Obi Wan agrees.
Something about the way Qui Gon is now looking amused and mischievous and the way that Satine had said that left Padme, for all that she was a bit on the naive side when it came to galaxy politics (As evidenced by the fact that she did not realize slavery did exist until she faced it directly and that she did really believe that doing what was right drove the Galactic senate), with the belief that there was something more going.
They leave Coruscant and are met, just before reaching Naboo’s system, by a ship full of Mandalorians led by Obi Wan.  He apologizes that Satine could not be there as well, but they tried not to be off planet at the same time, just in case, and Obi Wan was better for this.
Also as soon as Obi Wan saw Anakin, he felt the immediate and nearly irresistible urge to adopt him (Both the Manda AND the Force had opinions here), only the knowledge that he did not know whose child it was and the fact that Satine would kill him for adopting without her stopped him.  Obi Wan did take a moment to ask Qui Gon why there was a small child going into a warzone.
Eventually they got down to business. Obi Wan explained that, since Mandalore was not part of the Republic, they could not send an army to help with the Trade Federation’s illegal block (particularly since, officially, no one knew about it).  However, if their old friend Qui Gon (Qui Gon good naturedly protested the ‘Old’. In the same dry tone as earlier, Obi Wan said that they all knew that Qui Gon had been there at the start of the Republic (i.e 25,000 years old), there was no need to lie. Then Obi Wan winked at Anakin, making the boy giggle) happened to mention that Naboo was experiencing a crisis and Mandalore chose to send humanitarian aid, well that was not declaring war on a Republic entity. Of course they would also have to send a security force with their aid workers (Never mind that each aid worker is also a commando) there might be pirates or other dangers along the way.
Blockaded though Naboo may be, the blockade was not meant to hold up to a platoon of Mandalorians (sorry a group of Mandalorian aid workers with their security escort). They get to the surface, though liberation would take more firepower than they had immediate access to (particularly since they people were dying, thus a time crunch) so Padme negotiates with the Gungans to take back their planet. By the way, as soon as the Mandalorians and the Gungan warrior meet they get along like a house on fire (to the concern of more than a few politicians later). Our core group heads to the Theed palace to end things, while the Mandalorians and the Gungan begin the liberation of the camps (Made easier by the fact that the Naboo had not just been waiting to be rescued, many had been working from within the camps to make things as difficult for their occupiers as possible. At least two of the camps, upon hearing that liberation was incoming, promptly rushed their guards and were in the process of tearing the droids apart when the Gungan/Mando liberation team arrived. It may or may not have done more for Gungan/Naboo relations than anything Padme did).
Obi Wan does go with Qui Gon to battle the Sith. He goes armored, made specifically so that he can fight like a Jedi in it. He also goes armed with the Darksaber and a slugthrower (Obi Wan did indeed bring a gun to a lightsaber fight). While there is a little fighting, long before they reach the power reactor, Obi Wan drops back far enough that he is able to shoot Maul in the knee and they capture the Sith.  Anakin does end up taking out the shield generator (though the ship he ‘accidentally’ acquired was from the Mandalorian ship- where he had been told to stay for the battle; most of the mandos were a little alarmed at the 9 year old in the space battle but making heart eyes at the fact that the was able to hotwire one of their ships to do it).
After the battle Obi Wan calls his wife and introduces her to Anakin, Satine promptly asks ‘when are you bringing our new son home so we can say the adoption vow?’.
The High council arrive, more willing to admit Anakin (though still reluctant) to find that it is a moot point because Anakin, with Qui Gon blessing (as the Force only said that Anakin needed to be Jedi trained, Obi Wan can do that) was going to be adopted by Obi wan and Satine. Everyone is in agreement that this is actually the best solution (I want it clear that this is not a slight against the Jedi Order, their rules and restrictions are there for a reason and they would have taken Anakin in, but they could all sense that he was ambivalent about it). Everyone parts ways, with a light reminder to Obi Wan Jocasta Nu is waiting semi impatiently to read his most recent paper comparing Jedi historical Force traditions and Mandalorian historical Manda sects (The Manda and the Force both are and are not the same thing).
As soon as Anakin is adopted, Mandalore has an excuse to go after the Hutts (Frankly some of the more aggressive Mandos were getting restless). Due to the way Mandalorian adoption works, adopting a child effectively adds all of childs relatives (that the kid wants to claim) as the adopters relative as well (essentially adopting Anakin makes Shmi family). Family trees get very complicated on Mandalore very quickly (also all new ways to define relationships).
There are some changes we should acknowledge before going any further. Obviously Anakin growing up as the oldest son of the leaders of Mandalore has some difference (Korkie-Then aged 5- was ecstatic, he had specifically been asking for an older brother for two years), for all that Obi Wan is also training him in the ways of the force and the Manda. Also Shimi is living with them now.
There are some political ramifications that come from what could, in the loosest sense, be the Mandalorian invasion of Naboo (as some politicians privately call it) and the fact that the Gungan cities become a prime vacation spot for Mandalorian warriors. It never really goes anywhere, since doing so would mean acknowledging that the Trade Federation also invaded Naboo.
Padme wanted Naboo to cut ties with the Republic, she was fairly disgusted with the interaction with the senate which was highlighted by how differently the interaction with Mandalor went. This was never going to be allowed to happen (Palpatine’s status as Chancellor depends on Naboo being part of the Republic). This combined with Palpatine's (and other politicians) reactions to the Mandalorians that saved her planet, the continuing mistreatment of the Gungans by some (but much less) Naboo humans, and an unfortunate accident that left Padme as one of the sole survivors of her family mean that Padme does not become a senator. Instead when her term is up she, many of her handmaidens, and the other survivors of her family all move to Mandalore where they maintain a close relationship with the ruling family.
Padme and Anakin start dating when Anakin is 20. Their relationship is very much different than it was in Canon. For one, they had been friends for years before getting together. They were also not each other’s firsts (both having had romantic/sexual relationships with others prior to getting together). They are also not trying to squeeze too much into too little time as they try to hide from their friends and family, or justify to themselves their quick marriage. Frankly the lack of a war or a secret massacre putting strain on their relationship also helped.
Satine, Obi Wan, and Shmi never put any restrictions on how long they should be together before getting married, nor could they but it is important that they did not even try. They did highly recommend that, before any action that could be legally binding or have long lasting consequences (like kids) that the pair take at least one trip to the outer rim in a two person ship (the equivalent of taking a road trip together).
Anakin and Padme get married when Anakin is 22.
The Clone Wars break out a year later, in much the same way as Canon though obviously with different people in place of Obi Wan, Anakin, and Padme (Everything about the Clone Wars and the Clones is pushed back by four years. The setback is mostly because Maul was captured instead of bisected. Palpatine needed to be more careful for the first few years to make sure his cover was not blown). Though Count Dooku is the leader of the Separatists, he is never revealed to be a Sith.
Mandalore remains largely neutral, though they register an official complaint (that absolutely everyone involved knew would go nowhere) that Jango Fett’s, a Mandalorian, progeny were being effectively enslaved in the GAR. The Republic is able to produce paperwork signed by the late Jango Fett where Fett relinquishes any claim to any clones created using his DNA with the exception of a single unaltered clone (Boba), thus denying the clones automatic Mandalorian citizenship.  Privately Obi Wan contacts the Jedi and tells them that any GAR Clone that wishes to not be fighting for the republic will be welcome on Mandalore, where they can get assistance setting up and where being armored (and thus hiding the most recognizable face in the galaxy) would be perfectly acceptable.  The Jedi do find a way to start funneling clones that want to desert toward Mandalore. Oddly enough it actually decreases the amount of clones that want to leave, there was something about just having the option that made the clones feel like they could stay to protect people, instead of being effectively enslaved to the Republic (and it is indisputably true that innocents are being harmed by the CIS).
Mandalore does send ‘humanitarian aid’ and their security escorts to any planet that wishes for help. Ryloth annexes itself to Mandalore after the fifth time the Mandalorains were instrumental in repelling yet another CIS invasion before the GAR could arrive (The Twilek of Ryloth do not begrudge the actual soldiers of the GAR. They do understand that it is a big galaxy, they can only protect so many places at once, and the various battalions do not actually get to choose where they are being sent. However they do blame the Politicians of the Republic for the war going on).
Somewhere in the first year of the war a group of Mandalorians find Boba Fett. This group, who had long been close to Obi Wan (and had in fact been part of the group going to Naboo), clock the 10 year old with Jango Fett’s face putting himself in dangerous situations and forcibly bring him to Mandalore,  where Korkie goes ‘Free little brother. For Me! Don’t mind if I do!’ and adopts Boba into the family (for the rest of his life Boba will maintain that there is some form of Captive Syndrome happening, but eventually Boba accepts it).
During the second year of the War several representatives from the Republic are sent to Mandalore, in theory to encourage Mandalore to join with the Republic for the war but several are also secretly on Palpatine’s payroll and looking to destabilize Mandalore or at least their ability to send people to protect other planets (which is making it difficult to extend the war). They are escorted by Qui Gon Jinn’s battalion (an amalgamation of the 212th and the 501st), accompanied by Qui Gon’s new Padawan Ahsoka.
The representatives were given the biggest run around that was politically feasible (Which is a lot, every member of the ruling family, their closest advisers, and the escorts are all little shits who knows how to pull off ‘we’ll piss you off and you can’t do anything about it’) led by Boba, who still does not like Jedi very much; even he understands what happened was a battle and not an attack so does not want to be around Qui Gon. Qui Gon and his troopers are greeted like family.
Satine and Obi Wan, as soon as they catch sight of Commander Cody, go ‘Ooooh Pretty’ (Satine had developed a limited Force Sensitivity after carrying Korkie, enough that she could perceive Force presences and both thought Cody’s force presence was the most beautiful they had ever seen). Qui Gon, who had to suffer from a year on the run with Smitten Padawan Obi Wan and smitten Protectee Satine, immediately recognizes the looks in both their eyes and decides he is too old for this shit. He ignores all of it to go play flirt with Shmi (neither he nor Shmi are actually interested in each other and they know it. Qui Gon has not been attracted to anyone other than Tahl and in this one Shmi is very much a Lesbian. They both enjoy flirting and are glad they have someone they can do it with without giving the wrong idea).
I am torn between if I want Padme and Anakin to immediately do the same thing to Rex (‘oooh pretty’), or if I want Anakin to look at Padawan Ahsoka and go ‘oh she’s little sister shaped’ and immediately try to adopt her (Between Anakin and Korkie rampant big brother instincts, the logical consequences of Satine and Obi Wan having a healthy sex life, and the Mandalorian adoption gene- Satine comes by it honestly, no is sure how Obi Wan managed to inherit it- the ruling family of Mandalore has something like 15 children; Anakin is still the oldest).
The negotiations start and the Duke and Duchess of Mandalore absolutely insist that Commander Cody be there through every step of it. It is in part because they are being little shits toward the representatives(all of whom had been vocal in the belief that the clones were not sentient) and making them flinch whenever one or the other goes ‘And what do you think, Cody, dear?’ It is also so the Duke and Duchess can flirt, heavily and obviously, with Cody the entire time he is there.
Cody is a bit baffled, since he is not usually the person drawing attention (both for dehumanizing  reasons and Cody is oblivious reasons), but does enjoy the flirting. He also returns the interest in Obi Wan and Satine. Three of the eight representatives began to ask his opinion on their own somewhere around day three.
At the two week mark, working in tandem, Obi Wan and Satine spring the trap that they had been weaving since the beginning (Cody had been warned what they were doing, and they made sure he was in agreement-which he would have been even if he had not been attracted to the other two, just for the benefits to his brothers). For two weeks they manipulated the representative, and in turn the senate, to get those representatives an unprecedented amount of power in treaty making (Since part of the treaty process, particularly with something like a senate involved, is ratifying the treaty in which the negotiators take it back to the people in charge to agree, there is a vote and all that). Basically anything these representatives agree to is binding, law within the republic, no restrictions on what they can agree to. No one in the senate realized that these eight now had that power, that they had given them that power. Now Obi Wan and Satine led the representative around by the nose until they were agreeing to all sorts of things. Things like the clones of Jango Fett, and clones in general, would be recognized by the sentience of their species (with which comes all kinds of rights and responsibilities on the part of the senate to clones). They also convince the representatives to seal the new treaty with Commander Cody's hand in marriage (incidentally making all of the Fett Clones Mandalorian citizens). It should be noted that the reason these representatives agreed to that was that they, personally, would receive the bulk of the bride price for Cody (the final price was actually higher than the republic bought him for in the first place, Cody was very proud).
In addition Mandalore does not quite join the republic, the agreement is to take control of the GAR to fight for the republic. It is worded in such a way that the Jedi are given a choice (thus they can send the children home), a number stay with their battalions but some are also able to be called back from the field. The GAR naval officers, the natborns, were to be replaced by Mandalorian officers. The few officers that wished to would need to sign up with the Mandalorians (there were a few that wanted to continue serving with the Clones). One of the concessions from the Duke and Duchess was that, though back pay would be handled by the senate, pay for the GAR going forward would come from Mandalore(the reason that the representatives agreed to let Mandalore take over the GAR, they felt quite proud of themselves). Without knowing it this also derails the Orders on the chips, since Palpatine is no longer in the chain of command, no matter what title he does or does not take.
Three months after the Chancellor’s office stopped being in the loop for the war, the CIS and the Republic sue for peace. Sitting across from each other on a neutral world but publicly broadcasted throughout the galaxy are Count Dooku and Chancellor Palpatine with Mand’alor Obi Wan Kenobi there to mediate. Dooku and Palpatine have too much on each other to reveal that the other is a secret Sith (not without the assurance of victory, which they do not have).  They are forced to play this as if they are both well meaning leaders trying to do what is best for their people, as neither has an army backing them any more (The GAR is now Mandalorian and they have destroyed the droid army). Obi Wan wants to get home to his spouses (Satine was pregnant again, while they would love any and all children equally, Obi Wan was hoping that the little one would be born with Cody’s features).
I cannot emphasize enough that Obi Wan does not know he is sitting with two Sith who, if they thought they could get away with it, would kill him and subjugate the galaxy. He honestly does think that the other two are doing their best (He knows as a leader himself that sometimes a leader will make unpopular or not understandable choices for the betterment of their people-because they had bad information or because of their own prejudices).
Two Sith are forced to negotiate a peace they do not want because not negotiating (or stalling) would be so obvious as to give them away and if they are exposed now the entire plan is for nothing.
They are not down and out yet, but it is not far off. Their plans are derailed, and the person who did it never even noticed.
And I think that is the ending both of them truly deserve.

Ok, so I was supposed to draw one small fanart, but I got carried away and created an au ^^''
Tumblr media
Jedi cats Au
(Disaster lineage edition)
Yoda: Small green cat with tufts of white fur on his tail tip and across his spine. He loves being cuddled by the younglings as he tells them stories(basically their therapy, grandfather cat) and going on occasional trips to Dagobah for meditation (at least, that's his excuse). What he really does there is hunting frogs(he claims they're good for his bones) and camping out in the swamp(the whole trip traumatizing Dooku in the process).
Dooku: Huge white cat with brittle yellow eyes and spiked-up fur. He doesn't change much in his cat form, but when he does, he spends most of his time sunning himself on the council chairs(you can't blame him, cats can't resist such a good sunning spot), skulks around the temple corridors looking elegant and graceful, and steals sith holocrons out of nowhere so he could 'study' them(they were later confiscated and thrown out of the temple when Qui found out). He never lets anybody pet him except for Sifo, Jocasta, Qui, and sometimes Yoda(his adoptive father figure), or Obi-wan(his grandson whom he's secretly proud of)
Qui-Gon: Greyish brown cat with long silky fur and leaf-green eyes. He mostly hangs out on the temple's huge tree or goes on trips to Lothal to have tea with Loth-cats and wolves. (The Loth-cats kind of worship him as their 'god', and the wolves invite him and his apprentice for night strolls and 'singing to the moon' meetings)
He also randomly adopts kittens(padawans; in this case, Obi-wan, Anakin, and recently Ahsoka)
Obi-wan: Small auburn cat with darker splotches and grey-blue eyes. He's smaller than his apprentice but twice the sassiness. Cody loves to cuddle him and stroke his soft fur for hours while talking about how his day went(Obi doesn't mind^^). As a kitten, he constantly kept Qui company while he studied at night(at least that's what he says when Qui complains about his student/son being annoyingly cute and knocking over his mug of tea on purpose every five minutes).
Anakin: Brown tabby emo with sky-blue eyes. He hates sand, is very chaotic in many ways, and has a talent for annoying Obi(he actually passes down his 'abilities' to Ahsoka, who becomes more like her master). He also holds a record of being the most troublesome padawan in existence.
Despite all this, Padme finds him adorable (he often sneaks out of the temple in his cat form to meet his gf), but Obi-wan and Ahsoka know better(sure, he's nice and charming, yet can also be pretty stupid and reckless).
Ahsoka: Sleek, lithe, orange cat with white tail and blue stripes. Her Lekku still exists in her cat form as well as her facial markings(the Lekku are used to communicate with other cats or Jedi, and also play an important part in balancing their bodies while they leap agily or pelt across obstacles at high speed).
Toruguti cats have very short, smooth fur on their bodies(the pelts are mostly an orangish hue, with blue stripes appearing on the back of their flanks as they get older), but their tails are often white, bushy and flecked with blue stripes.
She's one of the 501'th's favorites because she often hangs out with Rex and the clones(sharing stories, playing games... etc)(the clones especially love placing random things on her head until she moves). As her species are carnivores, she has an instinct for hunting small animals(sometimes leaving her half-dead prey on Anakin's desk like the cheeky adorable prankster she is).
I might upload some headcanons and designs btw
Have a nice day ^^
😭 NOT OBI CUB LOOKIN LIKE A LIL LIPN CUB PLZZZZZZ😭
Lil baby man who looks like an infant permanently no wonder he wants a beard so bad in human form.
Soka’s Lekku is so cute and I love how pissy Ani is. They’re all precious to me. Swamp kitty Yoda is so perfect.

People always say that Anakin ignores Yoda’s advice when he goes to him for guidance in ROTS, but doesn’t Yoda ignore Anakin’s question? Yoda’s doesn’t address the question of whether or not Padme can be saved using the visions at all. I guess no answer can be considered an answer, but he could have properly talked to Anakin about that first.
Something I've noticed about how fans discuss that scene of Anakin and Yoda is that they use it as an example that Anakin didn't use his support system and would therefore reject therapy or wouldn't be willing to put in the work to improve himself.
But literally this scene is taking place because Anakin did use his support system. He went to Yoda for help. He recognized he needed to speak with someone about this situation, even if he avoided specifics, and see if he could get advice to stop the situation from escalating. If the first step to solving a problem is recognizing a problem, and the second step is seeking advice on how to solve the problem, well, then Anakin's done both in this very scene.
As for Yoda's advice . . . I can see why Yoda thinks it's helpful? Like, I think it's applicable to Yoda's situation, given that he lives hundreds of years and routinely sees people he loves die around him. But you're right in that he seems to immediately accept the premonitions of death as death being inevitable. I mean, obviously, I don't think Anakin should have gone to the lengths he did to save Padme, but at the same time . . . shouldn't part of a Jedi's job being to prevent unnecessary death and suffering? Especially in the midst of a war?
But I don't think the advice is all that helpful for Anakin, or even for many non-Jedi. Yoda tells Anakin he shouldn't miss or mourn this person once he loses them and instead rejoice for them that they are one with the Force. Which isn't bad advice, but it completely ignores that Anakin will miss the person he's going to lose, and that's a very normal and understandable part of the grieving process. Most people are not going to be immediately able to accept someone's death and instantly be over it. Regardless of if he should be able to do that, Anakin isn't able to do that.
And likewise, Yoda telling Anakin to "train himself to let go of everything he fears to lose" isn't particularly helpful, either, since, well, he doesn't give Anakin advice on how to do that, or even any tips on how to reach that point on his own. Like, if you want to get better at soccer, and someone tells you, "Practice more!", that's not incorrectly, but it's also very general and non-specific. Practice what more? Windsprints? Drills? Footwork? Is solo work best, or would it be more beneficial to practice with another person?
So how should Anakin train himself to let go? I mean, it's not like he hasn't had practice already, and he's still not great at it. He's a twenty-year-old who's spent the last three years being a general and leading a battalion in a galactic war. Maybe if he's reaching out for help and hasn't found a way to cope with loss by this point, that's a sign he needs some extra intervention and assistance?
The Tapcaf Transmissions podcast had some interesting thoughts regarding the subject of why the Jedi insist on responding to Anakin as if he's just another Jedi instead of actually reacting to the person he is and his individual situation (such as the time Obi-Wan warns Mace and Yoda that their plan with Anakin and Palpatine isn't going to work). The episodes are on the Revenge of the Sith novelization and the Brotherhood novel specifically, and I think they're worth a listen.
Also, I want to bring up a point I've never seen anyone else bring up regarding this scene: considering how Yoda turned his back on Ahsoka in The Wrong Jedi arc and that she left the frickin' Order due to the behavior of Yoda and the rest of the Council, it's a miracle that Anakin tried to go to Yoda for help at all. I think this aspect alone withers the "Anakin doesn't ask for help/Anakin doesn't use his support system/Anakin refuses to participate in therapy" argument where it stands.
Because Anakin went to the Jedi who refused to listen to either himself or Ahsoka regarding Ahsoka's innocence, who expelled Ahsoka from the Jedi Order without a trial and handed her over to Tarkin, and who did nothing to attempt to help her in her actual trial, for help and advice. He swallowed any pride and went to this person who had already failed both him and Ahsoka on an epic scale and whose poor decisions resulted in Ahsoka walking away from the Jedi because she was so hurt by their actions and refusal to believe in her.
So if Anakin decided to give Yoda a shot at helping him again in spite of The Wrong Jedi fiasco, but then walked away thinking Yoda's advice sucked? I can't blame him. Because he knows Yoda already destroyed one of his closest relationships. Is it truly any wonder that Anakin doesn't want to listen to his instructions about just letting another person he loves die and not to miss them or mourn them?
Finally, I want to conclude on another point I never see mentioned. Immediately after this scene with Anakin and Yoda, we get a scene of Obi-Wan and Anakin, with Obi-Wan telling Anakin the Chancellor has sent for him and warning him to be careful of Palpatine. Then we get a scene of Palpatine telling Anakin he needs to be Palpatine's personal representative on the Council and advocate for the best interests of the Republic. Then we get Anakin's first Council meeting where he learns his position is going to be in-name-only. Then we get Obi-Wan telling Anakin afterward that he must undertake this off-the-books undercover mission and be a triple agent spying on Palpatine, who's been mentoring Anakin (with the Council's permission) for the past ten years. Anakin doesn't want this mission because 1) it's treason, and 2) Palpatine is the dad to him that Obi-Wan didn't want to be. And from this point onward, Anakin feels torn between the Jedi and Palpatine and the rest of the Republic and starts growing suspicious of the Jedi.
So even if Anakin did have the best intentions to take Yoda's advice in spite of everything that went down with Ahsoka, he's literally doesn't have the time before he's hammered with a high-stress mission that directly conflicts with his personal loyalties, and this mission again could result in Anakin losing someone he loves because of Yoda. Palpatine was exploiting Anakin the whole time, but Anakin didn't know that and believed him to be a genuinely trusted friend and honest leader of the Republic. He might have believed in Yoda before this point, but he's certainly not going to now, because he now has reason to believe Palpatine's claim that the Jedi are working against him to overthrow the Republic.
TL;DR: Most arguments about this scene ignore what happened with Ahsoka and that Anakin has valid reasons to be skeptical of Yoda. They also ignore that the Council asked Anakin to be a spy almost directly afterward, and that it was the Jedi who allowed Palpatine close to Anakin in the first place.

You've talked before about how you think the Jedi Order handled Anakin's situation and trauma, but it has me wondering - how do you think the Jedi handle trauma in the younglings they take in more generally, outside of Anakin's specific circumstances? I know that's mostly in the realm of speculation without a lot of canon around it, but I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the matter.
I don't have a lot of specific headcanons for the exact details of how the Jedi handle trauma, but here's why I think they must effectively handle it in some way: The worldbuilding demands it of them. The Force works based on a given character's emotions and mindset, that is the very foundation of how things work. It doesn't matter what reasons you have for being angry, if you let it seize into your heart and you act with the Force through that anger and fear, you are walking towards the dark side. If you act with the Force through calm, joy, and compassion, you are embracing the light side. There's no getting around that for the Jedi or for the narrative. If the Jedi are embracing the light (and they are), then they have to be somehow regulating their emotions in a stable way, they have to be emotionally and mentally stable, because the worldbuilding demands it be so. They cannot just say, "Oh, we're totally handling it."--but in actuality not be handling it--because the worldbuilding wouldn't allow it. They have to be emotionally healthy to be on the light side of the Force, that's how it works. If the Jedi were repressing their feelings, those feelings are still there, they would still be part of their connection to the Force, and they would be constantly falling to the dark side, you can't white knuckle your way into fooling the Force, it doesn't work like that. Ergo, they cannot be unhealthily suppressing their emotions because the worldbuilding demands that they're working in synch with the light side. Which I think means that, whatever the Jedi are doing, if there's trauma in a youngling, they must be offering some kind of help that legitimately works, because if they weren't, even if they were lying to themselves about it, the worldbuilding would swoop in and say, nah, all of you are falling to the dark side. But the worldbuilding doesn't do that, only a handful of Jedi out of the vast majority fall and many of them fall through specifically abandoning the Jedi ways. (Krell, Malicos, etc., they specifically say they're not Jedi anymore.) The Jedi have to find a method that works, not one that they think works, but one that truly works (as well as anything can, nothing, not even a variety of methods, is 100% effective) because there's no fooling the Force, so I think they must have some way of dealing with it. Whether that means therapy that looks like our real world version of it or some psychic space wizard version of it, I could go with either. Generally, I do lean rather heavily on the psychic space wizard thing, like, I imagine it's a lot easier to help a child feel less afraid and upset when you can connect your mind to theirs and let them feel your feelings of peace and safety. It's a lot easier for a child to trust someone when that child can psychically feel that the person cares about them and wants to help them. The Jedi also seem really big on how important it is to confront yourself and face the scary parts of yourself, like the Gathering is centered entirely around the concept of freeing yourself from the prison of your own fearful thoughts, it's built around a ritual to face the fear within you and accept it and let it go. That speaks to their desire to understand yourself, to know the depths of yourself, even the ugly parts of yourself, and so I think that speaks to how they would have some ways of dealing with trauma. They have to, because you might be able to fool another person, even a psychic space wizard, but you can't fool the Force and eventually the Force will reveal you.

"I'll die on the hill that Anakin should have been punted into the creche for a few years"
Yes! I'm so glad you agree, I wish more fics had him interacting with his agemates and being in the creche would have been good for him I think. Perhaps I'm giving him too much credit, and I've only watched those movies once and base the rest of what I know on what I get from fanfics so I could be wrong, but my read of that meeting was that Qui-Gon had intended that? He said he'll train Anakin, but 1. he had a padawan still, and 2. Anakin was 9?? That seems super, super young to be a padawan. I always found it really weird in fics that he had wanted to take Anakin on so young, and then I watched the movie and ended up finding it really weird that the council and Obi-Wan just assumed Qui-Gon meant he'd start training Anakin right then and there and toss out Obi-Wan. Why would he, that makes no sense and he never said he'd take Anakin as a padawan right then like I thought he had from fics. It seemed more to me like it was a promise or vow type thing, like he'd train Anakin when the time came so they didn't have to worry about trying to find someone who would train an unorthodox padawan. And then everyone immediately thought the worst of him so he stupidly doubled down and did not make any attempt to correct their miscommunication. From what little I know about Qui-Gon and his relationship with Obi-Wan there seemed to be a good amount of miscommunication, so this made the most sense to me that he'd be stubborn and double down when arguing with the council rather than explaining what he meant. So when he died Obi-Wan had no idea what he meant and went with what he though Qui-Gon meant and insisted Anakin be placed with him right then and there. Nevermind that he was grieving and Anakin was super baby for a padawan, honestly I'm going to blame the council here for not stepping in and saying Anakin would go to the creche for a few years, then Obi-Wan could have him. Idk I'm not even a huge fan of Qui-Gon and honestly don't know much about him, but in this case this is what seemed most likely to me when I watched it.
Oh anon I totally agree
Tbh my mind went forwards and I was thinking more.... Anakin in the creche could've fixed a lot. Like... Anakin made his own (shit) decisions, I'm definitely not an Anakin-apologist, but I do think that no one is born a certain thing and that childhood has a big knock-on effect. Putting Anakin in the creche would make transitioning from life as a slave easier, for one??? Like let's not immediately call someone else 'master' and let's socialise the kid and let's get an actual childcare specialist - not a traumatized grieving ex-padawan-turned-Knight oh my God everyone needs therapy good intentions don't automatically guarantee good outcomes - involved.
I'm not saying Kelleran Beq looks like the kinda man to rehab hurt children on the daily basis but that's exactly what I'm saying. God I love that man and his Grogu chase scene. Is Grogu in the creche yet or am I too early??? Who cares, I think Grogu would be so good for Anakin because can you imagine being the so called Chosen One but shown up by a baby. You can't fight a baby, not even Anakin (not yet rip) so you gotta just take the ego trimming and cope.
Get Anakin to learn to read and write and acclimatize, let Obi-Wan have time to establish himself as an individual, let everyone take a chill pill, and maybe the whole cast will feel better in three or four years 🙃 also this helps solve Anakin's INTENSE only child energy because Chosen One shit doesn't mean crap in the creche, being a freed slave probably isn't uncommon when you look at how a lot of force sensitive kids end up at the temple (every Jedi comes with a built in troubling backstory as standard), Anakin has friends and peers to cut his teeth on and learn patience with and how to check boundaries with and you just KNOW that those creche kids have so many lessons on Stranger Danger-!
qui-gon the future we couldve had if you choked out a few more words lmao
Also I like to imagine that anakin's first language is Huttese and he only knows enough Basic to understand customers and Watto etc so in my mind the council meeting SHOULDVE derailed when Anakin can't understand a word they're saying and the whole timeline careens towards 'lets get this freed child slave his vaccines and a primary school teacher before deciding the words of destiny, yes?'
Qui-Gon: *finally asks something not related to customer service, basic conversational vocab, or mechanics*
Anakin: ....uhhhhhhh
Qui-Gon, off camera: I was so lost in the euphoria of finding the Chosen One that I temporarily forgot I existed in a world with slavery and other languages haha-
Obi-Wan: *face down in a dune in the BG*
The end :)

Why you no therapist, Starwars?
"The Jedi don't have therapists so they couldn't possibly understand emotions or how to raise kids"
"If Anakin got therapy he would've been totally fine"
"The Jedi would be against the idea of therapy"
i'm gonna scream at someone
Analyzing a work of fiction point 1:
The reason the Jedi don’t have dedicated therapists isn’t because SW characters are dumb or ignorant of how emotions work, it’s because SW came out starting in the 1970s and 80s.
I'm not saying talk therapy was non existent as a concept then, but I am I’m saying it was much less culturally prevalent, and shoe horning it into the world in the prequels would’ve been a shoddy, out of place world building decision for a world created in the 70s.
Actually important point 1:
For almost all of the world’s population, therapy is still a very new and very foreign concept, and most humans that have existed over the past 300,000 years or so have managed to successfully understand what an emotion was and done a functional job of raising their offspring. There are not skills that solely emerged from the study of psychology.
Analyzing a work of fiction point 2:
Because we're talking about a work of fiction, it's essential to note that George Lucas wasn’t making movies about the efficacy of therapy in treating childhood trauma. He was writing about family and love and individual moral choices, and there isn't the runtime in a couple hours of movie for half a dozen therapy scenes that wouldn't serve his themes at all.
Go watch like,,, Good Will Hunting, if you want a movie about therapy and trauma, it's great.
The Jedi would be super supportive of therapy if they lived in a universe where it was a concept, and if you want to read a version of that done well, I recommend reading Force of Many Sights by DAsObiQuiet on ao3. It’s a wonderful fic, linked below.
Actually Important point 2:
Talk therapy isn't a universal solution. It doesn't work for all people, for all problems, at all times. Just getting someone into therapy is not a guarantee of recovery or even any improvement at all. It's a really great tool, a good idea to try out if you haven't, cheers if it works for you! But saying that 'therapy would've fixed everything' is misleading, western/21st century centric, and utterly dismissive of the complexity of treating both trauma and mental illness.

so i was reading a bunch of star wars fanfic (i have not actually watched star wars yet. shh.) and ruminating about how clearly the Jedi teachings have a serious disconnect between what they ostensibly mean (as a perfectly stable space philosophy based on a perfectly stable nonspace philosphy) and how they are presented, definitely irl (i.e. a number of people being like NO ATTACHMENTS?! NO EMOTIONS?! HOW CAN YOU NOT CARE ABOUT WHAT YOU GOVERN?! HAVE YOU NO COMPASSION?! when i am given to know that is in fact strictly incorrect) and presumably also in-universe because i have a very limited view of what exactly happened in Anakin's head during Everything but popular consensus seems to be that There Was A Disconnect. and also possibly he needed therapy he maybe didn't get, and also possibly that since the Jedi didn't usually take in older initiates, they were legitimately unprepared to raise someone with different fundamental foundational ideas, even notwithstanding his specific circumstances.
*anyway*
then i jumped to reading a youjo senki fanfiction where Tanya was doing the 'i believe strongly in the intensely rational and try not to let myself be ruled by emotions because that's foolish and inefficient, what do you mean i am not always self aware about that' thing. (i have personal interpretations of Tanya but they're neither here nor there for the purposes of this thought.)
and then i made the connection of hey, what if post-life-as-Tanya she got yeeted into star wars? i mean you could also do some neat things with Salaryman getting yeeted directly there without being in youjo senki proper first, idk, but the main point is just... what sort of Jedi would Tanya be? because like her thing about ah yes we must not let emotions rule us, rational behaviour is the only way forward, *is* in direct opposition of any YOU MUST USE EMOTIONS TO FUEL THE DARK SIDE or whatever is going on there, like, that shit is something Tanya would be explicitly philosophically opposed to. (especially if she doesn't have to go full magical doping into combat.)
on the other hand Tanya is... her decisions do not make her seem like an ideal Jedi, to the untrained eye. also while i personally interpet her even as Salaryman to have been neuroatypical as heck and therefore (mood) having a somewhat nonaverage experience with how emotions work, i feel also like there are some that she probably does just... not unpack properly? like, in a way that impedes inner peace and self-understanding or something, idk. which i feel like would be a quiet albatross around any potential Jedi teachings she may or may not absorb?
like i said idk, but mostly it would be interesting to explore the idea of how Tanya would react to getting isekai'd again, now into Star Wars, maybe as a baby Jedi. even notwithstanding how you could use her to fuck up the entire plot of Star Wars in basically any way you see fit, her relationship with the philosophical structure would be interesting to explore. also there are many ways you could append Being X to that superstructure, or, like, unappend him, and I think that would be neat.

Fallen Jedi Thoughts
First some general thoughts before I talk about the emotional weight of this episode:
Ahsoka and Sabine's conversation makes me want to write fanfic purely so I can understand what's going on inside their minds
the droid on droid violence is unacceptable we can't make Huyang go through that
during Marrok's duel with Ahsoka I started thinking he was Kit Fisto to prepare myself for the worst
on one hand, I'm grateful he didn't turn out to be Barriss/Starkiller/Cal or a Jedi that wouldn't make sense
on the other, I'm mad because why was there so much focus put on his identity, why was there speculation from the very first trailer and why was he the thumbnail for the series at one point
I've been thinking about the "you have no power" interaction for a while and I'm so happy that Sabine just followed it up by launching rockets at Shin's face
Baylan's philosophy is interesting for now but it's teetering right on the edge of Generic Villain Ideology so the writers better take it to interesting places. "One must destroy in order to create" sounds cool but I've heard it so many times. I think the main reason why this character is intriguing to me is purely because of Ray Stevenson he deserves all the respect.
But the way he manipulates Sabine and does seem to have a moral code definitely makes him more interesting. And speaking of the manipulation, it might make me wind up back in therapy. Not only did we get confirmation that Hera, Ezra and Zeb are Sabine's only surviving family, she went against everything Ezra would've wanted her to do in order to bring him back. This makes me nervous because I know the moment Ezra sees her he'll be 1. grateful she's alive, 2. scared she's captured, 3. absolutely furious for choosing him over the galaxy's safety and contradicting his sacrifice.
If I try to understand Sabine's actions better, this happened all after the destruction of Mandalore which is why she seemed to be living so messily on Lothal. She just doesn't have a home anymore so she's clinging to literally any trace of Ezra she can to have some shred of hope after presumably holding herself responsible for the Purge of Mandalore. She's desperate, and desperate people do desperate things.
And now ... onto Ahsoka and the World Between Worlds. As soon as the shot switched to her opening her eyes I said "it's flashback time!" out loud so that's fun. The shock written on my face when the camera slowly shifted to Hayden was comical. Like what does this mean? Is this his Force ghost? Is this a hallucination? Did Ahsoka actually manage to meet Anakin's past self in the World Between Worlds? I have so many questions (along with the theory that this could actually be Anakin).
I just hope that whatever they're planning to do, they do it well. No live action reenactments of what has already been well done in Clone Wars, just what's here now. I want a deep look in Anakin and Ahsoka' relationship and how this changed both of them for better and for worse. Anyway, I can't wait for next week and I'm pretty certain that whatever's going to happen is going to break the fandom considering the hype that's already building up and the fact it's being shown in cinemas.

lyn reads triple zero - finale
by which i mean i finished it last night and i have Thoughts
first off, it was a decently enjoyable book when i managed to turn off my brain. solid 3 stars. there's a lot of good here that i actually really liked, it's just... unfortunately balanced out by a lot of bad that made me want to throw my phone across the room.
so here we go. thoughts, in no particular order:
1.) i genuinely love the characters. even ones like kal who i hate as much as i love. i can see why people who don't do more than a surface reading like him. personally, i love how crunchy a character he is and how all his many flaws make him this unintentionally complex character. i just want to pick his brain apart.
i could ramble on about everyone but it's a lot of "these feelings i already had about these characters have been reinforced like crazy" which basically means i'm fascinated by all of them, want to get all of them therapy, and also want to write all the fic where they get to have healthier relationships lol
2.) there's a lot of yelling in tcw side of fandom about how the clones should get chances to act like the dumb college age kids they are, and they get to in this book!! i think some of my favorite moments were when the boys were egging each other on and giving each other shit. especially that fi and sev bit with the ladder, at least until sev hurts himself. like how fucking dumb is that but also how fucking typical of 20-ish year olds?
3.) fi is gay. fi is so gaaaaay. there are so many little points in his narration where it's like "ah, yes. he is absolutely attracted to [X] person" but beyond that, his whole little subplot about feeling like something in his life is missing? wanting a normal life and a girlfriend, etc? it's juxtaposed against etain and darman so much that it comes across like fi is in love with darman and just doesn't realize.
yes, i have a new ship. yes, i'm going to write horribly angsty fic for it. why do you ask?
4.) etain and darman are cute when KT isn't pushing her weird ass heteronormative agenda. though my aroace ass literally yelled at my phone "YOU'VE KNOWN HIM FOR A CUMULATIVE WEEK AND CHANGE, YOU DON'T LOVE HIM YET" when they had their first lil heart to heart and slept together that first time. but, again, they're young 20-somethings who might die at any time, i can forgive them that.
shit, i can even forgive etain's whole pregnancy thing--to a point--because she's a dumb kid who is going through a crisis of faith. (more on that specifically in a sec) but jfc kal's reaction to it all was--idefk. he's absolutely right to be furious with etain. what she did was stupid in the first place, not well thought through, and she's putting a hell of a lot at risk by going through with it.
but everything else about his reaction was just--dude. what the actual fuck. and 60% of that is his clinging to his bizarre conservative mando ideals while 40% is his utter disdain for the jedi and i just--UUUUGH.
5.) every time the jedi came up in narration. every. fucking. time. i wanted to scream. i know KT has terrible opinions on them. i've read most of the other books!! but oh my god it was especially bad.
do i think it would be interesting for etain and bardan to have crises of faith because of the war? absolutely. in fact, it even makes sense that they would!! but the way KT goes about it is just fucking baffling.
which is really highlighted by that one conversation etain has with ordo where he says "nah, you've got a worse life than i do because i was adopted but you were given away to strangers by your parents" and i'm just
THE FUCK DO YOU THINK HAPPENS TO NON-JEDI KIDS WHEN THEY GET ADOPTED, ORDO???? THEY'RE GIVEN AWAY TO STRANGERS BY THEIR PARENT(S).
there is just. so much. so much about the jedi that's so wrong and that if it was written rightly should've fucking changed entire character interactions and plot and it infuriates me.
6.) everything about the mission is just. plot holes all over. if i take it at surface value and treat it like a bad action movie that's just here for entertainment i'm fine, but the second i stop to actually think about how this whole mission is happening i'm just--that's not how this works. that's not how any of this works. how are you all not dead???
but, you know. whatever. i can deal with it. there were highly entertaining moments. i literally cackled out loud when fi told kal that he and sev planted explosives in the one dude's car and kal was like "... the car i was in?? FI." and i'm real intrigued by bardan as like... the commandos' Q figure. it's highly entertaining.
7.) i have A Lot of Opinions about the weird ass brand of masculinity KT's characters subscribe to. but one thing i appreciate is that her male characters cry and aren't thought of as less for it. it's one bastion of good in a sea of blegh.
8.) i mostly stopped capping bits as i got sucked in but i did nab this bit which made me laugh and is a good bit to end on. (i forgot what my other points were gonna be; work distracted me lkajsdf)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
fi as a musical fan is my new favorite headcanon. i don't care if grease doesn't actually exist in the gffa.
also i need a crossover with mass effect where he and garrus exchange sniping playlists.

just tryin to solidify some details in freja’s backstory here... i put them on my little blog or i forget them entirely 🥰
places freja has lived (in consecutive order): corellia --> coruscant --> explorcorps spaceship --> mycroft --> various military posts throughout the galaxy --> coruscant again
and then wherever from there. havent decided yet
definitely a city kid. hates it. the wilderness also kind of sucks sometimes but she refuses to complain because then she’d be a stereotype
same father as qi’ra, who freja has like 10-15 years on? don’t quote me on that number. anyway they come close a few times but never actually meet. freja’s mom is deadzo for sure
i think the same seeker that found freja also found my unnamed catgirl jedi. its a nice little tie-in
almost kind of friends with aayla as a kid. they weren’t close, but when freja's not being a raging bitch about the whole Jedi Thing, she remembers aayla fondly
depending on which canon i choose to apply, she either aged out of eligibility or was sent away from the temple on coruscant because being around that many people made her Crazy and no amount of therapy + training was going to help as long as she remained on that planet. either way no apprenticeship. also they did not Communicate this with freja all too well. ‘oh dont worry its for your own good’ girl what
Top 10 Most Cringeworthy Parenting Fails! (NOT CLICKBAIT) like these mfs genuinely thought it would be best for her force sensitivity to fade. their main approach for her became ‘do not engage’ (and honestly. if they had done it earlier it could have worked. can i get an f in the chat)
either way she’s too sensitive to the minds/thoughts/feelings of other people and largely had to teach herself how to block it all out because normal mental shielding techniques didnt really cut it.
killed a pirate during her time with the explorcorps fleet. there was an attempted hijacking of a small auxiliary vessel on which freja was assisting with repairs so she shot a guy and he died. not her proudest moment
honestly that was probably the Kick In The Pants that got freja off of her ass and (kinda) out of the jedi order. at the very least she didn’t want to spend any more time in space than she had to
continuously fails to form solid friendships for most of her adult life. beans is her baby only pal until fives and echo roll up
loses her position in the IZS real fuckin fast since they wanna remain neutral so bad. allegedly she would have been able to resume her studies after the war but she never gets to find out
guys i cant stress enough how much freja hates coruscant

I am tired of people saying that Yoda’s advice to Anakin in ROTS about letting go and CELEBRATING a loved one’s DEATH was good therapy and Anakin should have just listened and accepted it. First of all, NO - have any of these people seen a counselor after the death of a loved one or after the diagnosis of terminal illness of a loved one? Cause I have. It is extremely inappropriate when seeing a patient for ACUTE GRIEF (which lasts months after the loss) to tell them to rejoice in their loved one's death - WTF. In fact, I have never had a counselor advise me to rejoice in a person's death (becoming one with the Force), but I have certainly eventually had the discussion of celebrating their life and my memories of them. Second, Yoda and Anakin are discussing a person who is NOT DEAD YET and who Anakin could theoretically very much save. Reliable, confirmed, 100% real and mutually known between you and your counselor prophetic visions do not have any parallel in reality, so I guess I can't really comment on it as being inappropriate for a real counselor, but COME ON. I can’t even articulate how messed up that in terms of basic, logical planning and of psychological health. If people don’t get that I guess there’s no reasoning with them anyway, though. If Anakin is supposed to ignore his proven prophetic visions, then the Jedi Order is building their way of life around an EVIL energy field that deliberately TAUNTS and PUNISHES the people it communes with. Although, I suppose that makes sense, since the Jedi echo that in the way they run their order and treat their own people and the majority of the people of the galaxy. I think Jedi Order supporters just want magic Force powers so much they are happy to take whatever comes with it. No thank you. If the Jedi Order way of life comes with being able to use the Force (and is, in fact, the moral, safe, and correct way that MUST be applied to Force users), then being born with those powers is a CURSE.
Essentially, most of the Jedi we get in canon are more discriminating, pragmatic, and sane watered down versions of the Sith. There. I said it. There are very few in canon we see who actually grow up to be good people. The few notable examples I can think of are Luke Skywalker in the OT movies (screw Disney and the sequels), Ezra Bridger, and some of the force sensitive Rebels. That really has nothing to do with the fact that they were good Jedi by Yoda’s and the Council’s standards at all. In fact, it was quite the opposite. They grew up to be good people under the Jedi because they had enough self-confidence in their own moral integrity and personal agency to openly tell off corrupt authority figures who told them to sacrifice themselves to fit in or be safe.
Instead of telling Obi-Wan, Yoda, Palpatine, and the Jedi Council to go fuck themselves and leave, Anakin and many of the other Jedi who had some awareness that Yoda’s cult was not normal kept trying to fit in with them to please their masters or please people they cared about. They kept doing it until destroyed them and they went dark because their options to safely escape were compromised by those with positions of authority over them, because they were groomed to serve for as long as they could remember and lacked self-confidence in their own moral integrity, and because they were cut off from the outside world.
It’s not a coincidence that most of the Sith we see in canon are former Jedi who never dealt well with the trauma it put them through from their childhoods, never fit in with the rest of Yoda’s cult of total emotional/individual denial, and eventually became resentful and/or unstable within it enough to be tempted to the dark side.
While they’re not responsible for all of their fallen Jedi recruits crimes, nor did their entire Order deserve mass murder. However, it I s partially the faults of those in the Jedi who had positions of authority over them that their students were able to go dark in the first place because they abused those positions of authority over them. They refused to acknowledge that outsiders had valid points about their system being abusive, corrupt, emotionally negligent, and hypocritical. That pushed characters like Anakin away.

SWTOR Commander ask game!
Tagged (via DM) by @sithwarblade and tagging @voiceofthetraveler (in case you haven't done it yet!)
Mostly under a readmore because oh my GOD i have so many blorbo thoughts. and all of them are completely self-indulgent
1) Who’s your Alliance Commander? What class are they? Alignment? Random other facts you wanna share?
My Jedi Knight, Corrain Gealai! Functionally, he leans Light Side, but by the time of Zakuul's attack he's far less unwilling to dabble with the Dark Side, and is remarkably skilled at throwing Force Lightning when he's angry.
2) What’s a reason or two you like that this character is your Commander?
Honestly? Corrain becoming the Alliance Commander actually - finally - allows him to grow past what Vitiate did to him aboard the Emperor's Fortress, and even though he leaves the Jedi Order in the process of choosing the Alliance, he becomes more of a true Jedi than ever before.
Corrain's biggest, most detrimental attachments weren't actually his relationships with others, as he feared - they were his attachments to concepts. Concepts of an idealized image of himself, the Republic, and the Jedi Order. He spends so much effort trying to be Perfect, to live up to this idealized version of himself that he believes is expected of him, even while his faith in the Republic (especially Saresh's government) is crumbling, that ironically he fails as a Jedi. He's attached to his failures - he refuses to process the pain he's felt, refuses to acknowledge the open wound that was his agency and free will being stripped away - and therefore, because he cannot let go, because he represses these emotions, he lashes out- at Saresh, at a Republic he believes is failing, and at Satele.
Becoming Alliance Commander - and leaving the Jedi Order, with Satele's blessing - essentially strips him of these self-imposed expectations. Satele is the one who eventually smacks him with that reality in the fic, but it's the distance he needs to come to terms with what he's suffered and who he's become outside of the hyper-strict framework he's created for himself.
But beyond Corrain's arc, the main reason I like him being the Alliance Commander is that, well - he's a Jedi at heart, and pretty much always will be. But unlike my consular Kalvonût, who's quieter and more bookish, devoted to healing others and being the conscience of the Senate and Jedi Order, Corrain is passionate and loud about it. He's an idealist who's had to re-center his ideals on something sustainable - who's had to rebuild his identity, ethics, and beliefs around something healthy after being broken down - and he will NOT sit around and wait for someone else to Fix Things. He challenges authority he thinks is illegitimate or self-serving, and is, generally speaking - a spark, waiting to burst into flame. He's all fire on the inside, he just has to figure out how to channel that fire constructively and not into some kind of cult of personality. looking at you, Sekulyn
3) What’s a reason or two you don’t like about them being Commander?
He's young, hurting, and trying to lead a rebellion against his tyrannical half-siblings in the midst of a self-identity crisis while the ghost of his own father is stuck inside his skull. He's well-past needing therapy. And on top of that entire mess of a sentence you just read - Corrain has still not told a soul about the fact that he's under Vitiate's Castellan mind control.
Therefore, the leader of the Alliance can be controlled - or forced into a life-threatening series of tonic-clonic seizures, depending on how hard Corrain fights it - with the revelation of a single phrase. (Valkorion - who's shown to be at least somewhat separate from Vitiate and Tenebrae - does eventually discover this keyword. It's bad.) This is a Massively Glaring Weakness and Corrain refuses to bring it up out of fear that acknowledging this weak point will lead to someone finding and using his keywords again.
Furthermore, his hatred and fear of Valkorion (while rational) makes him act irrationally. He lashes out more than once at Senya and Koth when they bring up Valkorion's generosity or benevolence, and it makes him sneer at Zakuul rather than try to understand Valkorion as anything more than the monster he'd been, rather than an individual with a complex agenda, preying off a complex society.
4) Why did this character of all your OCs become Commander?
Honest answer - Corrain is the only character I've completed the KOTXX expansions on, because he's the center of my hyperfixations on this game asjdhfkjsdfaksd. I've made five toons of him. help.
In-Legacy answer - 1) It's a Scion prophecy that Corrain ends up fitting into 2) Corrain hates Vitiate with a blazing passion and will do ANYTHING to destroy him once and for-all and 3) Corrain is the only one of my OCs who's disillusioned enough with their government AND selfless enough AND fiery enough to ignite a cross-faction joint rebellion and then work himself to the bone to keep that rebellion going in the form of an independent nation committed to galactic peace allied with Zakuul and the Sith Empire even though he's a former Jedi.
6) Are there any NPC’s from the class stories you’d like to see/HC join the Alliance? Ex: Master Timmns, Ardun Kothe, Watcher One, etc.
I'm assuming this doesn't involve companions, so - of the class-story NPCs, Lord Praven is the one I'd most like to see in the Alliance. Honestly, not many of the other NPCs stood out all that much to me in terms of making an impact, save Kothe - but my Imp Agent was too loyal to the Empire and too bitter about the mindfuckery to leave him alive.
7) How’s your OC feeling about the current Malgus situation?
Well, in the Moonrise legacy, the Onslaught expansion....doesn't really happen. I've repurposed Zildrog for something else entirely, and so there's a fairly strong canon divergence following the Nathema Conspiracy arc. But Malgus still does his Malgus Things - it's just smaller scale - and so Corrain is more irritated by his antics than anything, and lends Acina some Eternal Fleet support in her efforts to quash the Nuisance.
8) Are any of your other OC’s part of the Alliance? If yes what do they do for the Alliance? Do they get along with your Commander?
Eiri and Iomlan Greine (Corrain's mother and uncle) both end up joining the Alliance properly! Eiri is my Sith Warrior, and for the most part he actually ends up teaching in the Force Enclave as the Overseer of the Combat Division. He also acts as an Emissary of the Alliance to the Knights of Zakuul after Zakuul's reconstitution as a constitutional monarchy. Iomlan, who was once a Scion, acts as an aide to Sana-rae and assists in the Alliance's medical center as a healer.
As for the semi-affliated folks:
Kessin and their fleet of pirates and smugglers also do plenty of discount work for the Alliance - it's nice having reliable employers - and Kessin in turn keeps the worst of the Nasty Gangs out of Zakuulan and Alliance space where they can. The Exchange and Hutts get everywhere though.
Astayr and xir husband Torian are officially designated as Mandalorion Emissaries to the Alliance and Zakuulan Empire. Xey are one of Shae's top lieutenants, and after Mandalore the Vindicator's death, xey are a powerful voice in Clan Lok and end up allying with Clan Viszla.
Elennye, as a rogue agent only loosely affiliated with the Empire and still puppeting the strings of the remaining Star Cabal, often acts in concord with Alliance interests and is a known ally, but her loyalty falls more with Vaylin than anyone else. She's a permanent contact on Alliance intelligence reports.
(Jury's still out on Deitente - her class quest is the only one I haven't completely played through, but she's not likely to join permanently)
9) How does your OC feel about Odessen? (Bonus: how do you feel about it)
Corrain loves Odessen. It became home for him in a way that no other planet has, and he personally oversees the construction of non-military settlements on the planet (long after the galaxy settles into an uneasy peace)
Personally I like Odessen's design too, it's pretty, especially at night. It...feels kinda lonely, but peaceful, in a melancholy sort of way. I appreciate it.
10) How does your Commander feel about being the Commander?
He hates and loves it. He hates it because he doesn't like the fact that all this responsibility is on his shoulders, and he hates the whole Public Persona thing, but in the same breath he loves it. He loves leading his people, loves taking care of them and Odessen, loves negotiating and problem-solving and collaborating to come to solutions- he loves the fact that he's built a community that's spanned planets and star systems, and he'd give everything he has to keep that community safe and free.
The Eternal Alliance - and later, Zakuul too - are his people. He's found home there, and he will serve his people as long as he's able.
11) Favorite place in the Alliance base?
Hm...Corrain's favorite is the clearing where his personal ship sits. It's very quiet.
Mine? Definitely that little pool where Valkorion drags you off into the Ether to Learn a Lesson or whatever. (fucking valks) it's pretty
12) Favorite mission in KotFE?
Probably "Chapter 8: Taking Flight" - in my Moonrise Legacy, this is where Corrain and Arcann first confront the fact that they're half-brothers - and Corrain almost dies in the confrontation when Valkorion tries to wrest control away from him.
Ironically, it's the odd Force Bond with Vaylin - which developed while he was frozen in carbonite - that saves Corrain's life. Through this bond, Vaylin can sense that Corrain can hold Valkorion at bay, even dying from a lightsaber through the chest, and this concept of Valkorion being caged is DELIGHTFUL to her, so she. helps.
Gameplay-wise, I appreciate how the companions change - and how the companion that comes to save you from the final battle with Arcann changes depending on your relationships in the story.
13) Favorite mission in KotET?
This is tough. Either "Chapter 2: Run for the Shadows" or "Chapter 6: The Dragon's Maw." I love the mission with Acina - especially playing as Corrain - because it's so CRUNCHY to get into the politics. The Republic's former Chancellor - who Corrain's yelled at publicly at least twice - tries to assassinate him and Acina by hiring the amoral GenoHaradan? While he's having peace talks with the Sith Empress? Like this is precisely the shit he hates about the Republic AND Empire both, that some asshat somewhere wants revenge over resolution. Plus, I like Acina. She seems more sensible than some other Sith and I'm very gay for hot Sith ladies.
but then you contrast that against Sneaky Gameplay in the Dragon's Maw and- god. that mission was so fun to try and figure out. AND THE DOGS IN THE MINI MISSION! Perfect. Plus, in my Moonrise Legacy, Vaylin is a lot more stable by this point. Corrain's presence - which is lightside - and their bond has given her space to refamiliarize herself with some emotions, and it culminates here. She comes to the understanding about herself - on her own - that she's not actually holding on to the throne because she wants it, but because that power gives her freedom. Therefore, if Corrain can prove to her that he's strong enough to keep their asshole father from influencing her, she's more than happy to get rid of the responsibility that is the Eternal Throne. So, she challenges Corrain to a duel, as long as he's willing to wait for her to figure out how to unlock her full powers - if he wins, she abdicates and he can take the stupid chair.
14) Least favorite mission in either? Why?
The Iokath mission. Like, I get it? But I'm really not a fan. It annoyed me more than anything, and the whole Iokath arc felt underdeveloped. (hence why I'm repurposing Iokath, Zildrog, and etc for my last, canon-divergent arc of the Moonrise legacy)
15) Is your Commander successful because they’re skilled? Or are they perhaps just really lucky?
In battle, Corrain is successful because he's stupid powerful in the Force - which is a(n un)lucky accident of parentage and family issues - and because he is genuinely a master of lightsaber combat. It's a mix of innate talent and extreme hard work, and lots of practical application.
However, as a leader Corrain is successful because of whom he trusts and surrounds himself with. He's the spark for the flame of rebellion, but it's Lana and Theron and Senya, Koth, T7, Beywan, Oggurobb, Sana-rae, Hylo, etc that make him successful. It's his ability to trust the right people - and sometimes even to forgive the right people - that makes him a successful Commander. Sure - he does a lot of hard work himself, and does his utmost to inspire everyone who looks up to him. But ultimately he succeeds because he knows he can't do everything alone, and he chooses good people to help him. So...neither luck nor skill. Or maybe, his luck and others' skill?
16) From your OC’s point of view, SoR -> KotET wasn’t a fun experience, did they develop any fears as a result?
Corrain didn't develop any new fears - only worsened existing ones, really. Namely - his crippling fear of Vitiate and his own powerlessness in the face of his keyword. It comes back to bite him in the ass HARD later.
Instead SoR -> KOTET was actually more a time of personal healing for him, oddly enough. SoR is where Corrain started shedding his unhealthy expectations of himself as a Jedi, and grew close with Lana and Theron, allowing himself an emotional outlet he'd never had before. Sure - both Lana and Theron had heard of him, but they hadn't met and known him *before* he was under Vitiate's thrall, which meant he felt a lot better about just...being himself around them.
17) AU time! If your Commander wasn’t Commander, which of your other OCs would have likely taken their place?
If Corrain wasn't my Commander, it more than likely would've been Eiri and Kalvonut who took his place, working in tandem. Kalvonut would've handled the administrative back-end, and Eiri would be the face of their operation.
18) Who’s someone your Commander hopes they never have to deal with again?
Besides Vitiate/Valkorion? Saresh. Corrain's got a spiteful streak, to be honest, and he's more than willing to keep her in jail until the Republic grovels enough - not that they're particularly keen on having Saresh back.
19) Does your Commander hold on to/still use any titles they earned before KotET?
No. Corrain will still allow Kira to call him "Master" because he knows it's a tough habit to break, but he officially drops all titles related to the Jedi Order after he leaves and becomes the Alliance Commander. He knows that being a Jedi is a commitment - it's a paramount commitment - and it's not a commitment he can make anymore, not after finding a home in the Alliance and Zakuul, and leading them. He has obligations to them now, and he does choose the Alliance and Zakuul, and his family over the Jedi. He still gets invited to all the Jedi Parties though :P
20) Share something, anything at all, you want about your Commander that you’ve not really gotten the chance to share before but really want to.
Corrain's affinity with Force Lightning is in part due to his constant torture-by-electrocution on board the Emperor's Fortress. He has an extremely tactile connection to the Force for some reason, with physical sensation nearly always accompanying his perception of it, and therefore after suffering electrocution in pretty much every way, shape or form, he's extremely familiar with the physical sensation of lightning, and forcing that lightning into a constricted conduit. Therefore, he's also particularly good at recreating it.
This Force Lightning affinity is, however, a Dark Side ability. It's not one he can conjure with the Light side of the Force. What happens instead, when he finally is at peace enough with himself to find out, is that he manages to ignite a 'Force Flame.' This particular expression of the Force isn't an offensive ability in any way and it doesn't burn or harm others - it's just what happens when the Light side of the Force, like Force Lightning, presses a lot of power into a small conduit, i.e. his body.
He figures out later that this specific power is meant to destroy? heal? Force voids (such as Nathema). So this weird little made-up Force ability I invented that is certainly Not how the Force Actually Works but fuck canon my city now is meant to burn away nothingness by- existing, setting Nathema alight in the Force again.
After all, a void ceases to exist the moment something appears inside it - because then it is no longer nothingness. There's something there. And Corrain is the little light that the Force put in place to destroy the void - Valkorion.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE TAG i am VERBOSE tho

Obi-Wan Parts I and II
Ok I wasn’t gonna liveblog this but I think I have to.
I decided to liveblog because I need to say I DON’T WANT TO SEE THE YOUNGLINGS GETTING ATTACKED AGAIN. I DON’T WANNA SEE THIS. DID YOU HAVE TO START LIKE THIS. Hey. Whoever said “Let’s show Order 66 again”... I just wanna talk. I just wanna talk that’s all. Where’s Grogu. Also. During the prequel recap, the inclusion of that last line of Yoda’s... are you telling me... we’re gonna get Qui-Gon Force ghost in this series... because I’ll actually die. Reva. I love her. I know she’s evil. That doesn’t mean I don’t love her. You give me a Black girl in sci-fi media, I have to adore her with my entire heart. It is Black Girl Nerd law. My girl Reva is smart. Oh god... Meat from Torchwood flashbacks... Is that Obi-Wan... or is it Uncle Owen... It’s Obi-Wan!!! I just remembered his lizard from RotS. I miss the lizard. That was a good lizard. If this scene with Ben cooking and sitting outside to eat had been released before TFA, the Rey Kenobi theories would have been even more widespread. (I still believe in Rey Nobody but that’s just me) I have not yet seen the Boba Fett series yet (I know I know, I’m a disgrace.) but I know the Tusken Raiders are heavily featured, but are the Jawas in it too? Because right now, seeing a Jawa up close and in HD, it’s so weird. I’m so used to their eyes just being floating glowing yellow dots, and now I can see the eyeballs and a vague shape of a head. I don’t like it. Oh Ben... he needs therapy... I’m gonna interchangeably call him Ben and Obi-Wan depending on how lazy I am when it comes to typing. Sorry. ...It’s... it’s my boy... it’s my baby... it’s Luke... Oh poor Uncle Owen. OOOHHHH OBI-WAN. WATCHING BABY LUKE PRETEND TO FLY. THE NOSTALGIA. Ahhhhhhhh help. I knew I recognized that dumb toy. Oh god help me. I’m not ok. “Walk out into the middle of the desert and bury it in the ground.” Ok I can’t remember RoS very well but isn’t that what Rey did? Why so many Rey parallels? (Also I went and rewatched the scene and yes she did bury it and I forgot all the “I hate the sand” jokes.) “You were once a great Jedi” He’s STILL a great Jedi. I did NOT like that Dark Side-esque music that played when the camera panned back to the Jedi asking Ben for help. Naboo? NOOOO. IT’S ALDERAAN. NO. YOUNG LUKE IS ALREADY TOO MUCH YOU CANNOT SHOW ME YOUNG LEIA AND THINK I WON’T CRY. Oh good. I was about to say “Leia does not seem like the type to enjoy this pampering and getting dressed thing. Yes, she’s definitely princess-like and regal, but this doesn’t feel completely right. Maybe it’s to show the contrast of how they were raised?” but no it’s a decoy. Like mother like daughter. I adore it. Ok there we go. That’s Leia. God I love Breha’s dress. Can I make it... Oh good. The weird elongated original trilogy helmets are back. God I wish I could go back to the 70s and tell that costume designer to not throw those helmets in. Nuh uh. Whoever you are. Get away from my girl Leia. Don’t you even DARE. “When the time comes he must be trained?” “Like you trained his father?” Mmmm. Ahhh. Ughhhhh. *sobbing* That’s the best way I can describe the sounds I made in reaction to that line. I think I reacted the same way from seeing that scene in the trailer too. Oh shit. Wait. WAIT. God I need to go rewatch the prequels. Does Obi-Wan know that Anakin survived Mustafar? Owen doesn’t. Does Obi-Wan? Oh no. Oh no. Wait. Am I going to have to watch Obi-Wan find out that Ani survived and is now Vader? Oh god please tell me I’m misremembering the prequels... Reva’s unhinged. I sorta love it. Oh she’s really unhinged... Good on Owen. “I didn’t do it for you.” Yes you did, a little teeny bit. But also you got a little Jedi boy who won’t stay still  and has a death wish like his father before him, so I get it. I meant to say it earlier, but is Reva a youngling who blames Obi-Wan for not stopping Order 66? That’s my prediction. They had to show us those kids for a reason. I might have to go back and rewatch the scene later. Bail Organa!!! She’s such a daddy’s girl. I am so sad. Just looking at them... I’m so sad. I just gasped seeing C-3PO. But then I remembered we KNOW Bail took the droids. Leia literally sends them. But I’m just stupid. Who is this cousin? I don’t like him. Get him out. Yes Leia read him for filth. Bail is such a good father. I am actually dying. I’m gonna cry.
Ok I need to say I am SO glad we got all these Leia scenes. I’ve always thought that Star Wars is too Luke-heavy (and I adore Luke) and I was worried that this series would be too. But no. So far Leia has had 20 times more screen time. I’m happy.
Nope nope nope. Stay away from my girl. Also do I know this guy? I definitely know this guy. Ok that’s incredibly bad. Ok I need to research something later. But I always wondered how Leia knew Obi-Wan in ANH. And I just assumed that Bail told her to send the message to him and trust him. But does this mean they met prior to ANH? “She is as important as he is.” YES. SHE. IS. Obi-Wannnnnn don’t do this. Go get her. Please don’t tell me both lightsabers are in it. I cannot get over the parallel. I can’t get over the burying of Ani’s lightsaber in the sand of Tatooine.  Star Wars has to stop managing to find good ways to justify things. First the Kessel Run (I’m still mad about that one. I’m so mad they fixed it.). Now justifying Rey burying Ani’s lightsaber because Ben did it before. I wasn’t even that mad about her burying it, I know some fans were, but now they’ve managed to make it a parallel of what Obi-Wan did. I can’t. Murder me, both are in the box. I want to die. Did he... just purposefully show his lightsaber to that lady... confusion...
THAT WAS FLEA. OH MY GOD. I almost put “Is that Flea” in this post when I was saying I knew the actor, but didn’t want to look STUPID if I was wrong. I literally thought to myself “He looks just like Flea... but he can’t be Flea... that can’t be Flea, Hope you’re being dumb.” and convinced myself it wasn’t him. BUT NO IT WAS FLEA. WHAT THE HELL WHY IS FLEA IN THIS.
Seriously why is Flea here? I’m like beyond shook.
I’m just gonna keep going with Part II here.
Sorry, I’m still on Flea. How. How is he in this show. I’m like... delightfully confused.
Is someone gonna come up to Obi-Wan dealing death sticks or something? A CLONE? Star Wars is really putting Temuera to work this year. Ohhhh Obi-Wan you feel some guilt meeting the clone. Oh my god. Guys, the prequels hurt. They hurt me so much. Ah not death sticks, spice. Close enough. Ooooohhhhh! Hi Kumail! What are you doing here? Wow Haja’s so dramatic. Yeah Obi-Wan that was too easy. “I’m surprised you fell for it.” I’m surprised you’re in this show, Flea. I like how one of the extras looks like she’s stepped out of a neon rave in the 2000s. I LAUGHED OUT LOUD. THAT’S MY GIRL. PUNCH THE STRANGE MAN. Obi-Wan. You really should have at least told her your name or something. And Leia my girl, don’t go with strange men just because they say “Your father sent me.” She’s in orange like her mommmmmmmm. Guys this show is gonna murder me. “Shh. Quiet.” Hey Ben, I think the lightsaber hanging from your holster is more obvious than Leia whispering “Are you a Jedi?” She came from the gutter. Sure. She really came from the Jedi Academy and survived Order 66. Still standing by that theory. Yeah, Old Ben, you should have kept on the gas mask and gave one to Leia too. Hide your face. Also why are you dressed in the literal most stereotypically Jedi outfit? I’m sorry. Was that a dinosaur? “Little green cape. You don’t need those!... And the gloves.” This girl is doing a good job embodying Leia. I really felt the spirit of Carrie Fisher when she looked up at Obi-Wan and continued to put on the gloves. Leia my girl. Obi-Wan looks like the most Jedi Jedi ever right now with his robes. He’s not being subtle. “You think the less you say, the less you give away, but it’s really the opposite.” That’s my girl. This green cape gives off RotJ jungle battle vibes and I love it. (No I can’t remember the name of the jungle planet I’m tired and that’s the least of the things I’ve forgotten so far). “This is no ordinary Jedi.” Cause I’m no ordinary girl, I’m from the deep blue underworld. I do not blame Leia in the slightest for running. Obi-Wan, you did not give the girl much reason to trust you. Oh good. Haja’s a real good guy. What is this spinning lightsaber and why does it feel familiar? There goes Flea. Fun but weird to have him around while we did. Could Jedi always read minds... man it’s been at least 3 years since I last watched all the movies. Do I need to brush up on my Star Wars? “Nothing, you just remind me someone.” I know! I knowww. I knowwwwwww. Someone kill me. “You didn’t know? He’s alive.” NOOOOOO. NOOOOOOOO. NOOOOOOOOOOO. This is painful this is hurting me. I am not ashamed to admit that I literally squeaked hearing the mask breathing.
Well.
That was far more emotionally painful than I thought it would be, and I knew it’d be emotionally painful.
Though honestly the thing that has me reeling the most is that Flea was in this. I don’t know why that’s so shocking to me. I’m not even a Red Hot Chili Peppers fan. And yet I’m still beyond shook.
I gotta make a post about young Leia because she really hit it on the nail. She’s very good.
And I rewatched the youngling scene. There was a little Black girl. Is that Reva? I think so.

I think a nightmare situation (for someone) is Anakin getting dosed with truth serum in TCW
And everyone's like "Oh, he's going to confess to the Amidala thing," and he's just like "I have murdered babies"
In front of like. Half the council.
"Obi-Wan did you know about--" "NO"
"Ahsoka please leave the room while we figure out what the fuck is going on. You shouldn't be here." [sounds of the pedestal she put Anakin on just crumbling]
They were expecting Anakin to admit he's horny and stupid about Padme and maybe planning to leave for her post-war. They were not expecting 'yeah I did a massacre,' okay?!
"Oh, we'll finally be able to stop pretending we don't know, and he'll stop being really awkward and pathetic about his affair!" Nope, it's so much worse.
I've seen truth serum fics for Anakin before but it's almost always for a Romance Confession and like. No. I want him to fuck up his entire career by admitting to an atrocity he committed. He deserves to fuck up his career at the minimum. He has killed so many people. Please make him go to therapy or something.
Palpatine: I'd like to speak with General Skywalker. Jedi: No, sorry, there's been an incident. Palpatine: …what kind of incident? Jedi: I'm sorry, but we can't tell you that. Palpatine: I am the supreme commander of the armed forces. You are legally obligated to tell me the actions of a high-ranking military member. Jedi: Technically it happened before the war, and outside of Republic space, so it's an internal Jedi matter.

I think Anakin and Padme deserve to Stay Besties in any AU that isn't Anidala specifically because their love languages are absolutely buckwild and insane to almost anyone else, but match up to each other pretty perfectly, which means that if they aren't dating each other, they are the exact right person to have egging the other on and enabling whatever unhinged bullshit they're planning on doing in the name of romance.
Anakin thinks he needs to serenade his partner? Padme hires him an orchestra.
Padme wants to meet daringly under the cover of night with her new secret lover because that's the only right way to do it? Anakin is staging a kidnapping for her, zero questions.
Anakin is swooning over how his love interest was kissing him! but it was actually lips-to-leg attempts to suck out the venom of a bad bite (something you're not even actually supposed to do, but hey, the Force slowed his heart down enough that maybe it helped! and he survived anyway, it's fine)? Padme is over the moon for him, that's so romantic!
Their brain cells are so, so allergic to each other. Put them in a room and all common sense flees in the face of "okay, but if I challenge her to a sword fight--" "Padme you can't challenge a Sith to a sword fight." "No no, but if I challenge her and then you swoop in for me as my substitute, and I promise a kiss to the winner and you throw the match--" "Okay I don't want to lose to Ventress but oh my god, I love it."
Move aside, Idiots to Lovers, there's a new ballgame in town!

This is a little random but thoughts on a crack au where Luke has an “imaginary friend” that is, in fact, Mace Windu’s force ghost
Mace: Now remember what I have taught you
Luke, levitating his things into his backpack for like Tatooine elementary school or whatever: We forgive and love and do no harm, but if we see Palpatine it’s on sight
Mace: Exactly
Owen: Beru it’s happening again-
tfw things with your kid get so weird that you have to bite the bullet and go ask your wizard-in-law to help figure out what the hell is going on.
This would be a lot of fun, and I think Leia deserves a ghostly mentor as well. Let's give her Shaak or Jocasta?

Another really funny plot concept for "Jedi leave the Republic for their own safety/survival well before the war hits" is that Dooku goes out, claims his title as Count of Serenno, and then just invites his entire ten-thousand-strong extended Jedi Family to join him.
Who's going to stop him? His planetary government, that he's in charge of and can easily convince that Jedi are a good thing for agriculture and education and medicine? The Republic?
Sidious is left staring because not only did he fail to make this rich old former Jedi fall, but the rich old former Jedi stole all the Jedi he was in charge of, including ten-year-old Skywalker.

My #1 post of 2022
I think that... a lot of the time, fics that want to give the clones more agency and vilify Jedi tend to focus in on the Jedi not being trained for war (truth) and shouldn't automatically be given positions of leadership (arguable truth) and so the clones shouldn't listen to them (...no)
Because. I mean. Listening to the psychic is a tactical advantage
The clones should have massive influence on battle plans! But if the Jedi says "not that route" then there's a solid chance it's because they are getting Bad Vibes that are predicting a possible ambush or rock slide
Ignoring a Jedi for not being a tactical expert is like ignoring the engineering specialist for not being frontline
Like yeah, they aren't battle planners. They still have pertinent information that could cost you the battle if you ignore it.
This doesn't get into the Jedi being solid field leadership (again, being psychic helps massively with making snap decisions) and just a major force in war themselves.
But as far as pre-battle leadership goes, I just think a lot of the This Character Is Literally Psychic gets understated. Not enough scenes in fic where the Jedi offer an opinion on the plan and just
"Bad vibes, sir?" "Bad vibes, captain."
"Sir, requesting a vibe check." "Vibes are good. We are clear to proceed."
I just really need clones requesting vibe checks as a matter of procedure.
