by Caleb Thusat
A 32 page, black & white comic book about a family that escapes WWII Germany only to discover their new home on the border of France is haunted by a dark past and a cat named Nook.
Nook will be coming to Kickstarter for just 14 days beginning August 26th and ending on September 9th, 2018. There are tons of amazing indie artists contributing variant covers, pinups, and sticker and pin design for rewards and stretch goals. Just $25 unlocks ALL stretch goals and gets you a printed edition of both covers. Keep them both, or share with a friend!
SYNOPSIS:
Fleeing the oppression of WWII Germany, Avery and her parents move to a remote town on the border of France. It is here she finds her new best friend, a cat named Nook. But, there is more to this cat than it seems. A dark and twisted history longs to be revealed. Avery is swept up into a deadly cycle of violence and will come to both fear and love her fuzzy new friend as the history of her new home is revealed.
WHY YOU’LL LOVE NOOK:
Nook is a story born from demented dreams and my love WWII stories, and Guillermo del Toro’s style of storytelling. From The Devil’s Backbone to Pan’s Labyrinth and Crimson Peak, I love using ghosts and mystical creatures to create an atmosphere of terror to reflect deeper meanings and develop tragic stories. This 3 part mini series will explore the cyclical nature of our existence, and how, if we cannot learn from our past, we are certainly doomed to repeat it.
WHY YOU SHOULD BACK ME:
This is my 7th issue and 3rd series I have started through Kickstarter. I have run 6 successful campaigns in the past 3 years including the complete, Hardcover trade of my science fiction series, Alter-Life. I would like to think my track record speaks for itself, and if you’ve backed any of my projects in the past, you know that I’ll deliver in both quality and content. I love creating these stories. They can only exist if people like you support them, and I hope you decide that this is a story you want to be told.
