Wonderland
Wonderland is a song about a love that feels so enticing it draws her in against her judgment. Taylor uses Lewis Carroll's Wonderland as a metaphor for love with a famous person and they try to hold on the chaos that ensues from going public. Get a cup of tea, this is long. I feel the lyrics, meaning and context of this song are overlooked because Taylor had a friend who likes the classic novel.
22 March 2011 - Taylor visited an Alice and Wonderland themed store on Portobello Road, London. (2011 timeline)
5 November 2012 - One Direction is on the cover of Wonderland Magazine holding puppies. The article talks about a book deal from a fanfic about Harry, death threats to girlfriends, abuse of their mothers, relationships breaking down due to abuse by fans and absolute ferver about them at that time. It includes the quotes:
"Anyone is welcome to stare into the eyes of Madness" and "The boys show a similar stubbornness when I suggest, perhaps, if they were a little less public about their girlfriends (boybands like Take That, for example, were always encouraged by management to be perennially single in public), then maybe their partners would not have to endure so much attention. “That’s shit,” says Louis. “That means you don’t lead a life that’s real. You wouldn’t be able to go out anywhere publicly with your girlfriend.”
2 December 2012 - a month after the article Harry and Taylor walked in Central Park. They had been on/off in private for months at that point and seemingly together for the last 4 months.
17 November 2014 - Taylor is on the cover of Wonderland Magazine, she talks about 1989 and Twitter Trolls.
In 2015 Taylor indicated that all the songs of romance songs on 1989 were about on person. While Taylor has never said who that person is songs like Style hint. In her March 15 2013 vanity fair article (the one that said harry chased her for a year before they dated and also pointed mentions she was born in 1989) Taylor said:

Taylor has only performed it 6 times, each has a reason. When 1989 was release Harry’s IG went black and white and stayed that way for nearly 2 years. He posted a colour photo within a week of each Time this song was played.

Original Lyrics
Along with 1989 TV Taylor released the original Wonderland Lyrics 27 October 2023. They are undated. I think it may have been started in 2011 when Taylor was in London and finished for 1989. The original Lyrics further indicate this song is about Harry:
"We danced down hallways, too in love to think straight" rather than" became "So, we went on our way / Too in love to think straight" Hallway's being common theme in Harry and Taylors songs about each other.
"Screaming you're the king and I'm the queen," rather than "All alone, or so it seemed." King/Queen is a common reference Taylor has used to indicate the muse is British. This is also on 1989 in Blank Space: "Stolen kisses, pretty lies, you’re the king, baby, I’m your queen"
"Colors I'd never seen twisting around me" became "I felt your arms twistin' around me." Colours are also a Haylor theme, on 1989 with OOTW: "The rest of the world was black and white / But we were in screaming color.”
"Didn't I tell you don't listen to them?" to "Didn't they tell us don't rush into things?" this reminds me of Slut! "I said it might blow up in your pretty face / I'm not saying do it anyway / But you're going to" because they went public and it did blow up.
"I turned around to find you and you were nowhere to be found / There was screaming and lightning / And I haven't been back since I had to leave you there..." became "I reached for you, but you were gone / I knew I had to go back home / You searched the world for somethin' else." this is similar to I Knew You Were Trouble: "And he’s long gone when he’s next to me", This Love: "And you were just gone and gone, gone and gone" and Blank Space: "Screaming, crying, perfect storms, I can make all the tables turn".

The first verse sets the scene of a relationship that is in the public eye and two people trying to hold onto their love in chaos. Specifically not a hidden relationship.
Flashing lights - It's easy to overlook how very out of control the fans and paparazzi were about Haylor and One Direction in 2011 - 2013. Having dated in secret for sometime when they did go public the focus was intense. When they dated again it was hidden, which is evident in both of their discographies.
I Know Places: Lights flash and we’ll run for the fences
Is It Over Now?: Flashing lights, oh Lord, let’s fast forward to three hundred takeout coffees later
Paris: Let the only flashing lights be the tower at midnight in my mind
One Directions Perfect "And if you like cameras flashing every time we go out oh yeah"
Fell down a Rabbit Hole is similar to IWYW "We're a crooked love in a straight line down"
Trying to hold onto each other in chaos is also in:
Run: "Say you’ll never let them tear us apart and I’ll hold onto you while we run"
New Years Day "You squeeze my hand three times in the back of the taxi"
Dancing with our hands tied "Oh, and you held me close Oh, how was I to know?"

The Pre-Chorus tells of a decision to go public with a previously private relationship. At the time Harry and One Direction were incessantly asked invasive questions about dating, which Harry was increasingly uncomfortable answering. Shortly before 1D provided a list of banned questions which was not well received.
Slut! implies that Harry had wanted to go public and Taylor cautioned against it " Taking your chance / It's a big mistake / I said it might blow up in your pretty face / I'm not saying do it anyway / But you're going to / And if they call me a slut / You know it might be worth it for once"
Harry's green eyes are mentioned in many songs.

The Chorus encapsulates this relationship, one they are drawn to, see the peril in and proceed anyway because they love it. Taylor has other lyrics that refer to forever not coming true:
Wildest Dreams: Nothing lasts forever, but this is getting good now
Cowboy Like Me: Forever is the sweetest con
False God: We were crazy to think / Crazy to think that this could work / Remember how I said I'd die for you?
Pretending is also a theme, I think this about suspending judgement to stay in a Lavender Haze, or set aside concerns about the potential reputational damage or bullying caused by fans:

Wildest Dreams: "Say you’ll see me again even if it’s just pretend"
Delicate: "Sometimes when I look into your eyes, I pretend you’re mine all the damn time"

The post chorus Eh's sound so similar to Rihanna's "Under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh" which is actually similar in theme, Umbrella is about a famous couple being there for each other, Wonderland is feeling like that didn't happen.
In the period One Direction was incessantly asked for a celebrity crush (while he was actually dating an exceptional famous dream girl) Harry often said Rihanna, if he answered. Rihanna was a safe choice, she wasn't single, she has spoken highly of Harry. Also she sat in front of him at the infamous 2013 VMAs.

Fame and focus of people outside the relationship is a theme. I can't repeat enough how much this song is about a public relationship:

Harry for One Direction Where do Broken Hearts Go: "Mind is runnin' in circles of you and me / Anyone in-between is the enemy"

The reference of a Cheshire Cat smile is a double meaning, both referring to Harry's smile and where he grew up, Cheshire, England. Lewis Carroll, author of Alice in Wonderland, was also born in Cheshire. Calm my fears similar to the line in NYD “squeeze my hand”

The song ends on a sad note, Taylor realises the relationship is too much for her so she gives it up. Her muse can't replace her and they never get over it. From Slut! and Say Don't Go in the 1989 Vault Taylor wanted more assurance in the chaotic storm of them going public. From Harry's TBSL and Little Freak we can infer that he wasn't ready for it, 19 and too famous too quickly.

We both went mad: the song ends on 'we both went mad' which is a double meaning of having lost themselves in this relationship and the Cheshire Cat saying "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad." in Alice in Wonderland. Madness is a theme in Harry and Taylors songs about each other:

As well as playing several dates on the upcoming Sad Summer Fest, L.S. Dunes have announced their own headline run.
The band – guitarists Frank Iero and Travis Stever, vocalist Anthony Green, bassist Tim Payne and drummer Tucker Rule – will be hitting the road across North America in July and August, kicking things off after Sad Summer at Toronto’s The Opera House and wrapping up at The Garden Amphitheatre in Garden Grove, California.
“Lost Souls!” begins Tucker. “Beat the heat and trip out with LSD this summer! Comin’ to a city near you!”
Tickets go on general sale at 12pm local time this Friday, May 12.

24 Days of La Fayette: December 23rd – Presley Neville
Presley Neville (1756-1818) came from a wealthy and prominent Virginian family that had senior members serving with George Washington during the French and Indian War.
Presley was born on September 6, 1756 in Winchester, Virginia. He was the only surviving son and oldest child of General John Neville and Winifred (Oldham) Neville. The two had married on August 24, 1754. The family moved from Frederick County in Virginia to the outskirts of Pittsburgh in about 1775. Despite this, the men fought in the Virginia line of the Continental Army and not in the Pennsylvania line.
Neville was one of La Fayette’s earliest aide-de-camps when he joined the Marquis’ staff in December of 1777. The early months of his service were unremarkably but we have a number of letters that he copied for La Fayette. But things soon became rather more exciting.
In October of 1778, La Fayette desired promotions for his aide-de-camps, but out of the four men he recommended, only his two American aide-de-camps, Edmund Brice (day 1) and Neville received promotions. George Washington wrote in a letter to Henry Laurens on October 30, 1778:

When La Fayette planned to return to France for the first time since joining the army, he requested that Neville would be permitted to accompany him. He wrote to Washington on January 1, 1779:
This letter will be delivered to your excellency by Mr. Nevill may aid de Camp whom I beg you to favor with a leave of absence for joining me in France. Besides the affection I have for that gentleman, I also think this voyage may forward the public good as he will be intrusted with those dispatches Congress is going to send. (…) I also intreat your friendship not to forget writing to me, and if you grant the leave I solicit for Mr. Nevill his arrival with letters from you will make me extremely happy.

Washington granted La Fayette’s request and he then told friends like Hamilton that Neville was joining him in France. He even wrote the Comte de Vergennes on May 23, that he was expecting three American and one French officer. The only problem; Neville never did leave America, and La Fayette was not aware of this fact.
Washington wrote to La Fayette on March 8-10, 1779:
(…) I have not had the Letters returned to me by Majr Neville, who I am told (but this is no excuse) is indisposed at Fish-kill (…)

The postscript of the same letter reads:
I have this moment receivd the letters which were in the hands of Majr Neville; accompanied by yr favors of the 7th & 11th of Jany. the Majr himself is not yet arrived at head Qrs; being, as I am told, very sick (…)
This is quite the peculiar statement since La Fayette himself was severely indisposed in Fishkill prior to leaving America – and Neville’s luck was far from improving over the coming months.
La Fayette wrote on June 12, 1779 to Washington:
I don’t know what is Become of Cle. Nevill and the Cher. de La Colombe. I beg you would make some inquiries for them, and do any thing in your power for theyr speedy exchange in case they have been taken.

Washington replied on September 30, 1779:
Colo. Neville called upon me about a month since and was to have dined with us the next day but did not come, since which I have not seen him nor do I know at this time where he is. He had then but just returned from his own home & it was the first time I had seen him since he parted with you at Boston. It is probable he may be with the Virginia Troops which lye at the mouth of Smith’s Cloves abt. 30 mile from hence.

Neville served for a time as lieutenant-colonel in the 8th Virginia Regiment. He became a prisoner of War on May 12, 1780 after the Fall of Charlestown together with John Laurens. He was quickly paroled and finally exchanged in May of 1781. La Fayette instructed the Chevalier de La Luzerne on June 20, 1780:
May I presume to ask you to convey a million compliments to Monsieur de Marbois and to find out if the son of Colonel Neville, called Lieutenant Colonel Presley Neville, my former aide-de-camp, is among the prisoners?

La Fayette also wrote to Nathanael Greene on November 10, 1780:
I have a Request to Make, My dear Sir, Which is extremely interesting to me. Young Nevile, My aid de camp, a Captain By Commission, and a Lieutenant Colonel By Brevet was taken as a Volonteer at Charlestown. The General has told me that you was invested with full Powers to treat for the Southern Prisoners. Nothing, May Give me a Greater pleasure than to have My poor Nevile out of the Scrape which his zeal and Bravery have thrown him into. I was thinking of writing to him, But upon Recollection Believe it More advantageous to his exchange that No Notice Be taken of him till he has obtain’d his freedom.

Neville was not permitted to leave the city of Philadelphia as part of his parole. But when La Fayette was himself in Philadelphia, the two men met and the Marquis was more determined than ever to get his “favourite” back. He consulted Washington on this matter on December 9, 1780:
I have found here Lt. Clel. Nevill my old aid de camp. He came with Gal. Woodfort to Newyork. It is said that Gal. Lincoln’s aids have been exchang’d and that it is generally the case with aids de camp to Gal. officers actually in our service. I warmly desire to have him. I am told Cornwallis has no powers to treat those matters. Can you, my dear general, think of some method to get him out which it is proper for me to take? I am more than ever puzzled, my dear general, to know what to do.

Washington replied to La Fayette on December 14, 1780:
It would add to my pleasure if I could encourage your hope of Colo. Nevilles exchange. I refused to interest myself in the exchange of my own aid. Genl. Lincoln’s were exchanged with himself, and upon that occasion (for I know of no other) Congress passed a resolve prohibiting exchanges out of the order of captivity.

After his exchange in May of 1781, Nevill returned to serve as La Fayette’s aide-de-camp during July of 1781 – until he was captured again. La Fayette wrote on August 12, 1781 to Nathanael Greene:

The details of Neville’s second capture are unknown. He was released sometimes in 1782 and as far as I can tell never returned to serve under La Fayette. Instead, he married Nancy Morgan, the daughter of General Daniel Morgan in 1782 and they moved with their family to a house known as Woodville about six miles west of Pittsburgh. Their home was situated on the banks of the Chartiers Creek and Neville’s father lived on the opposite site of the creek. Around 1794 he served as inspector for the Allegheny County militia. His county also saw a great opposition to the Act repealing, after the last day of June next, the duties heretofore laid upon Distilled Spirits imported from abroad, and laying others in their stead; and also upon Spirits distilled within the United States, and for appropriating the same, better known as the act that raised taxes on alcohol distilled within the United States. Both Presley Neville as well as his father General John Neville found themselves the victims of attacks and threats during the Whisky Rebellion. I have determined to petition Congress, through my friend, the honorable Henry Baldwin, to pass a Resolution authorizing me to have one struck at my Expense; as my situation however, at present would not permit me to take advantage of such a resolution, without having the original Die, I have written on the subject to Mr Gallatin, & to the Marquis de la Fayette, whose Aid de Camp, my father the late General Presley Neville was, in “77. davy intends to walk through life with a skip in their step and a line in their head. if fate was kind, they would be an actor by now, making waves in hollywood and thriving in a creative industry. but no, fate is never that considerate. so they’re stuck as a cleaner in the pittsburgh qz.
still, this doesn’t stop them from practising accents, self-teaching dance moves, and doing monologues from the saved tapes they have at home.
they have a box tv that their father salvaged years ago, and some old home videos on tape, and old tv recordings. over the years, the quans collected whatever tapes they could find.
their apartment was kept in pretty good condition
to davy, there’s no point in mourning the past. at least, that’s what they tell themselves. in reality, they are covering up their real emotions with jokes and keeping busy with work and staying around other people. this way, they can be funny, they can be smooth, they can be the best. as long as they don’t have to be themselves :))) because the real davy rn would be crying :)))
davy’s personality has been pretty consistent for most of their life. they have always been sunny and funny, but perhaps in the past year, people may notice that they hardly ever go home, or that they never talk about themselves anymore. it’s always an outward focus, with davy now.
DAILY LIFE.
davy does a mixture of night and day shifts for the clean-up crew.
recently, they have opted to stay out more than necessary, not really wanting to come home until they absolutely need to fall asleep.
since the death of their father, they’ve been avoiding staying at their old family apartment.
davy is the only one left :((
HISTORY.
the quan family were on vacation when the outbreak happened, visiting relatives in buffalo, new york. there was her mother, father, and three older brothers.
davy was a toddler during the chaos of trying to survive the first wave of the outbreak, and trying to get to safety in the qz.
on the way to the qz, the eldest quan brother was lost, becoming part of the infected.
being the baby of the family, the quans did everything they could to keep davy safe and protected — if not from the infected, then from the people around them.
davy’s father became part of the clean-up crew, davy’s mother became a farmer. the two quan brothers became part of fedra.
when davy was 14, the middle quan brother ( 18 yrs old at the time ) was lost in a raid outside of the qz.
when davy was 17, the youngest quan brother ( 20 yrs old at the time ) defected from fedra and became a firefly. davy never saw them again.
when davy was 20, davy lost her mother. mrs quan started joining the food delivery trips between the atlanta qz and the pittsburgh qz. she would be gone for weeks at a time. one day, davy and her father heard that her mother’s truck was attacked by the infected. not a single person made it back.
for six years, davy and her father lived alone in the apartment. it was a quiet existence. when she was 21, she joined the clean-up crew officially, taking her father’s place as his knees had started to give way and he began developing more physical ailments. their regular routine was coming home to watch one of the movie tapes together. mr quan’s favourite was watching the old tv recordings, including the commercial breaks and everything. they often quoted movies back to each other. davy remembers these times with a lot of fondness.
just last year, when davy was 25, mr quan passed away of natural causes.
coming home alone to that once crowded apartment ... davy resolved to never think about what they had lost ever again. they would not think about their dead parents, or their dead brothers, and certainly not their missing (probably dead) remaining brother. they would not think about this ... they would move on, and try to shine so bright that there wouldn’t be any space for thinking of the sad things.
since losing their father, davy has not really talked about it with anyone. as far as anyone is aware, they’re ... doing fine ... :))
HEADCANONS / DAVY-ISMS.
they can memorise almost anything they hear. not forever, but word-for-word most times.
very good at mimicking sounds and people’s voices. a decent singer, in this respect.
generally jut a great mimicker and impersonator in general. they love to watch fedra officers and practise their walk.
cannot fight to do shit. being the baby of the family, davy never had to do much protecting of themselves. they rely on the basics of shooting a gun if they ever needed to save themselves.
they’re an excellent runner, though, and very slippery, so this is how they usually get out of tough scrapes. and there have been a few.
davy is also, i believe, a very good friend. though they’re very nihilistic and don’t take care of their own wellbeing, they care about the people in their life. it’s a struggle though ... they didn’t want to care about so many people (they don’t want to suffer the pain of losing anyone else) but they can’t help it. they love their friends so much.
that being said, davy has probably had a few relationships in the past, ranging from puppy love to something almost serious. generally in a romantic relationship, davy used to be quite non-committal and immature. now, however, they are growing into someone more responsible.

Aaron Donald remains a dominant force
Sometimes statistics don’t tell the whole truth. Numbers are just one part of the equation when it comes to measuring productivity. In the case of Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald, statistics belie the true impact that the three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year awardee has on a football game.
Donald changes a game just by showing up. Because he is such a disruptive force, offenses have to double and sometimes triple-team Donald just to keep the star defensive lineman from getting into the backfield. Just how great is the nine-time Pro Bowler?
Well, in 2022, Donald played in only 11 games. He totaled 49 tackles and five sacks. And yet he was voted to the Pro Bowl for the ninth time in his career and came in at the No. 11 spot in the NFL Top 100 player’s list. Fast forward to this season. Donald continues to prove he is that unstoppable force.

Let’s look back at the Rams’ 17-16 comeback win against the Seattle Seahawks. Donald produced just one tackle during the game. But he may have saved the opportunity for the Rams to win their fourth game of the season when he came up the middle, got up in Geno Smith's face, and tagged the Seahawks quarterback with a nice little hit.
Well, that one play temporarily knocked Smith out of the game. Smith’s absence was long enough for the Rams to overcome a 16-7 deficit to take a 17-16 lead which they held until the clock ran down to zero.
This a good example of why numbers don’t tell the entire of how Donald impacts an entire game. During the Thanksgiving week leading up to the Rams going to Arizona to play the Cardinals, head coach Sean McVay talked about the imprint that Donald had on the Seattle game.
“It was huge. He dictates a lot of attention as always,” McVay said. “Obviously came clean on that inside move when we ended up bringing him and (OLB) Ochaun (Mathis) and Quentin Lake and was able to put a lot of pressure on (Seahawks QB) Geno (Smith).
“It might not always show up on the stat sheet, but the way that he affects and influences every single game with his effort. Thought the red area stop that he had on second down to be able to knock (Seahawks RB) (Zach) Charbonnet out of bounds for a negative was big. Just his leadership, his consistent work ethic, his consistent game day demeanor, and then the production, it's all a huge part of it.”
Thus far, for the season, Donald has recorded 5.5 sacks in 10 games. That’s a far distance from the 20.5 sacks that he registered during the 2018 season. But he is still effective both as a leader and defensive playmaker.
With his undeniable presence in the middle of the defensive line, Donald has created other players like rookies Kobie Turner and Byron Young to shine.
“He's having a lot of fun,” said McVay. “I know this team is at their best when they're enjoying playing. They're bringing that type of energy that we want to be able to see and I thought that was on display throughout the course of the day. And really the defense and Aaron's leadership is what kind of kept us in the fight and allowed us to be able to capitalize when those opportunities presented as a team.”

The defense of the Rams went through a serious revamping in the offseason. A lot of new faces like Turner, Young and second-year player Cobie Durant are now at the core of the new-look defense for the Rams. Donald, however, is still the one constant that opposing offenses know and are familiar with.
Leading up to their matchup against the Cardinals in Week 12, Donald said the Rams' defense has been spotty this season. The unit has played well at times and then there are moments where the defense does not play as well as it should.
“We just got to be more consistent at times,” Donald said. “Obviously, we had a good performance last week. We just got to build off that. I feel like we had some sparks where we looked like a dominant defense in a time where we let up and don't look how we are supposed to look or how we should look. So just playing consistent and doing what we need to do.
“I think Raheem did a good job of putting us in positions to have success, trying to find matchups and do things like that to help the players around us to have success. So we just got to go up there as the players and capitalize and just fly around and make plays.”
