sorry for the late response anon i honestly had to think abt this one for a few days lmao, but yeah i have opinions. below the cut bc fr i have opinions, all of them have major pros and cons (based on my characterization at least) and really i just have to break it down for u

Boros, everyones obvious first choice, but certainly not mine.

Pros: rich, tall, pretty, fun af, passionate, will kill for you np, give you anything you want, literally anything.

cons: has a god complex, doesnt respect you, not his number one priority at all, will forget about you once its not interesting for him anymore, probably argumentative/combative af, is very very smart and has no problem manipulating you in all the worst ways, is very entitled so he will never feel bad about anything, cant win arguments either bc he’ll want to settle it with combat, will get offended over little things just to argue bc he thinks thats fun

this is a relationship you’d get into if you literally have nothing to lose and dont care about your mental health. like hes hot but this shit would be toxic af and he will ruin your life and leave you to go fuck around and fight someone on the other side of the universe. this will be the best of times and the worst of times for you and you will never be the same afterward mentally or emotionally. the only way i would even consider it is if i lost my damn mind. The only way a relationship with him would ever work long term is if you were physically stronger than him and were capable of putting him in his place OR you were smart enough, suicidal enough, and interesting enough to him to engage in some psychological warfare and reject him if he asked you. Make him chase you for years, say yes, then decide that /he’s/ boring /you/ and leave him for another member of the squad to just destroy their established hierarchy and humble him to the point that he’s obsessed with you.

i dont have the energy for all that, so i’ll just smash and pass.

pros: cute, nice, tentacle alien (obviously), will respect you np, will also give you anything you want, not antagonistic at all, telepathic communication so no risk of miscommunication, emotionally intelligent and available, loyal to a fault,

cons: horrible boss/best friend that you will have to listen to him vent about for at least 3 hours a day, complete yes man as well so he will not tell boros no or cut him off and you will be stuck dealing with this no matter what, severely mentally ill and wont go to therapy bc he thinks hes handling it well, workaholic, needs a lot, and i mean A LOT of attention

this relationship would be great if not for boros lol. boros sabotages his social and romantic life but geryu has been friends with him too long to either cut him off or establish boundaries. he has no backbone (figuratively and literally) and wouldnt even consider it. he’ll ignore you in favor of his job too, to a massive degree. also i think that while the telepathic communication would be a major plus in most cases, here i feel like i’d have no less than 16 different, never before seen on earth, mental illnesses projected right into my brain just from being within a certain radius of him.

im already fucked up enough in that sense so pass unfortunately.

it would be a yes without boros in the picture tho lmao

so prob like 4/10 iffy datablillity, 1 level increase with each decade of therapy he gets tho so a lot of potential :D

pros: straightforward, realistic, very clear expectations, will not fuck around with you whatsoever like there is no mind games or anything here, will kill for you, rich and non materialistic so she’ll basically just let you do whatever with her money since she doesn t care about it, cares about her job but like...a normal amount. she absolutely has a good work/life balance, highly organized so she will not forget important dates, loyal af and will defend your honor under any circumstances, mean but in a funny way, a ton of fun to hang out with if you’re into that, no eyes so i dont have to worry abt eye contact ever

cons: extremely high expectations, like exhaustingly high, and not even a bit of flexibility there, if you dont meet the cut its a no, she’ll let you know and leave same day, she will also bully you, you need a thick skin and great sense of humor to survive, bad at feelings if you need emotional support???? go elsewhere, shes mega emotionally unavailable, will probably want to share bodies as a form of intimacy

overall its a solid 6.5/10 dateability for me i love the directness and no bs approach, we would def get along well. however, while im not sensitive, shes def gonna hit on some insecurities at some point and it will cause an argument lol. but i mean whatever. it happens. the body sharing would be an issue though, same reason i wouldnt be chill with having a symbiote despite being a major venom fucker. i need my space i cant deal with that. so thats a possible deal breaker if she couldnt get over that lol. and she wont, so we wouldnt work out. i wish it fuckin would tho😭😭😭 i would take whatever crumbs of attention she would be willing to give me

pros: amorphous and shapeshifting aka extremely attractive according to my taste in monsters, tall af but could chose to be a more reasonable survivable size lol, self contained and self-entertaining so they dont need a ton of attention to be happy, funny af, rich, will give you whatever you want and probably a bunch of shit you didnt know you wanted, very fun, built in friend group if you didnt already have friends, extremely emotionally intelligent and great people skills due to living in a collective, stupid af by choice, like some of em are very smart, but they dont claim that, will say fuck work and tell boros to eat shit to spend time with you, will kill for you as well, but only if you ask them to bc their first inclination is to just bother someone to death, very loyal, once they like you they like you really forever, it would take some pretty extreme circumstances to make them dislike you

cons: annoying af and its unavoidable, will talk over you, all of them at once will talk over you and do so loudly, no respect for personal space, they dont even know what that is, will probably accidentally manhandle you, they act stupid but arent so they can be manipulative, even if it isnt bad and they dont really mean to be, impulsive, forgetful of the needs of organic creatures so they will bother you at all hours of the day and night if you arent firm with boundaries, disgustingly extroverted and will bring randoms to your place without asking, or just...make new cluster members and you have to roll with it, will eat or absorb literally anything you have, will antagonize and bother you for fun, major jump scare risk since sometimes the forms are....fleshy

this ones hard for me like theyre hot af and i feel like they’d be super fun and good partners, but god....the noise. idk how long i could deal with that lol i dont like people in my house. it would drive me up the wall, but then again...i can simply kick them out when ive had enough. they arent projecting mental illness directly into my brain or requiring me to share a body sintelligento major plus. creepy thing/symbiote style hot monster without any of the invasiveness so tbh 8/10 dateability

some people date loud annoying extroverts who dont understand personal space that /arent/ rich, loyal, or emotionally intellegent so i’d be winning on a few different fronts lmao

Happy Birthday Kouki Uchiyama! (Aug 16)

Better late than never! Happy 29th birthday to Kouki Uchiyama! You would think he’s older because of the sheer number of roles he has. He seems to know some English (not sure of his proficiency). We can see it when he does an international message for Soul Eater, and his alma mater (high school) was a fancy international boarding school. OPM s2e3 Live Blog

“The Hunt Begins”

Ok I had 3 screenshots leaked to me before seeing the episode, but only one of them was spoiler-y in that I wasn’t sure if we’d get that far in the episode. And of course not only did I not leave work early, but had to stay an hour late. So without further delay, I’m hoppin to it. Reminder, I’m watching each episode as someone who is caught up with both the manga and web comic.

Alright, off the bat we’re getting the Charanko expulsion over with. I wasn’t expecting that, but it makes sense- it’s a good hook to lead with and set up the Garou issue before actually getting into Garou destroying everyone.

BTW I am Still not over the opening theme- nope it still gets me both visually and musically. (I definitely was not listening to the song on repeat at work all day. nope. what kind of nerd would do that definitely not me hahaaaaaa)

I like that Charanko doesn’t bat an eye that The Worlds Strongest Man King is there, or Blizzard of Hell, he’s just like ‘ah they’re multiplying.’ Fuckin kek. Saitama oh sweetheart, “Silver Fang” may be cool but to us you’ll always be the One Punch Man oh dear my heart

oh OH YES Guys you have no idea how excited I am for this fight?? I know Tank Top Master isn’t really popular but like I’m a gym rat so I’ve got a soft spot for him and Superalloy. Guys, in the databook his favorite things are chicken breasts and protein. Also I mean hes actually a decent guy too, but----- Anyway, wasn’t too hard finding Garou, was it Charanko?

Oh, oh right. Let me clarify I’m excited to see TTM get some screen time. Also to watch trash son (aka Garou) kick some ass. I’m, I’m not excited about him kicking Mumen’s ass specifically. This is gonna hurt.

I also need to point out here that in the manga Garou has a lot of crazy faces, like his expressions are very extra, (another way he’s a foil to Saitama, hah) but seeing them actually in motion speaking is borderline uncanny valley? They’ve creeped me out twice already and he’s been on screen for like 20 seconds? I mean i guess he IS going for the scary-monster thing, so uh, good job u freeky trash man you.

Man the Garou music is really intense, holy shit. If I’m not mistaken something at least similar played when he was fighting at the HQ last episode. Honestly, I hope it’s not gonna be this sounding track every time garou gets in a fight. Cause, y’know, ge gets in a lot of those. It’s only been twice now and it’s still during establishing character moments so it passes, but I really really hope they switch it up or it will lose it’s epic feel.

I must say, watching Garou fight otherwise is an absolute joy. The rest of this scene was so dynamic. I loved the way just glided through everyone and bounced around so fluidly. Keeping the water stream fist throughout it was also visually really pleasing. I need more. Give me more Garou fights, this is AMAZING. And that put us about half way through the episode like I predicted, which means I have no idea at what scene the episode will end.

Watching that kid go through some shit is gonna be heart wrenching. FFF Anyway, it looks like we are getting GoldenBall and Spring Mustachio this episode? I was torn either way if we’d see that much. huh.

Oohhh Shit Sea King and Melzalgald! Wassup flashbacks?? Oh my gosh Saitama looks so excited I think thats the happiest we’ve seen him in a long time? No wonder he takes an interest in martial arts! AH! The ticket! The ticket! The tournament ticket!! I know a bunch of people considered the tournament filler and found it annoying, but I’m so excited for it!! Like, it seriously gave me a whole new respect for Lightning Max and Snek, I can’t wait to see those boys get the spotlight for a second again!

OMFG What is this jiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii-- wtf I am Cackling?? Oh my fuck its still going this is Peak Comedy

AH! I missed them! And I wish the screen wasn’t so dark, but otherwise SEE WHAT I MEAN? Shit watching Garou move is fun as hell, even if he’s barely moving. Also, is that legit bullet fire sound effects? I also love that those two get drinks together regularly enough that Spring knew something was up when GB wasn’t there. So good so good.

IN SUMMARY: I honestly don’t feel like I have much to say or reflect on. I just really loved this episode. Favorite one yet. I mean of course I’m going to like it more as the story kicks the fuck up, but I genuinely had zero complaints, and actively enjoyed watching the animation.

Warning for next week btw, I’m going to be out of the country and also not really near civilization, so I probably won’t have wifi, so theres a good chance I wont be able to blog next week’s episode till I get back. Which I’m actually pissed about. because

WE ARE GOING TO GET TO SEE METAL BAE KICK SOME MONSTER ASS AND IVE WAITED SO MANY YEARS TO SEE HIS STUPID DELINQUENT FACE IN ACTION FUCK MY TIMING MAN IM BOTH EXCITED AND PISSED of all the weeks I had to live in the wilderness UHG. Toonami Weekly Recap 10/20/2018

Attack On Titan Season 3 EP#09 - Ruler of the Walls: Erwin justifies his decision not to evacuate Orvud District due Abnormal Titans targeting populations and decide to instead lure the Reiss Titan into a trap, with the first line's cannonfire having little effect while Eren punishes himself for being too weak, just being influenced by events around him. The Reiss Titan eventually reaches the wall, its face and chest having eroded from crawling for miles on the ground. The Scouts then implement their own plan; Eren assuming Titan form and plunging several barrels of gunpowder into the Titan's gaping mouth to destroy its body while the others quickly destroy the fragment holding Rod before he regenerates. Historia succeeds in killing Rod, seeing some of his memories before the explosion throws her into the city street. Historia recovers from her fall and formally introduces herself to the gathered civilians as the true ruler of the walls. Back at the Reiss estate, his group having all died in the cave-in, a dying Kenny recalls events in his past before being found by Levi. While Levi notes Kenny's fatal injuries, the older man reveals to have acquired a syringe of Titan serum.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable EP#09 - Yukako Yamagishi Falls in Love, Part 2: While looking for a way to escape, Koichi manages to find a nearby payphone and uses Echoes' ability to trick Yukako into contacting Josuke, which clues him and Okuyasu in on their location. As Koichi attempts to survive Yukako's fury until Josuke arrives, Echoes suddenly evolves into a new form, Echoes Act 2, which can turn the sound effects it writes into real actions when touched. Yukako endures several counterattacks from Koichi's new Stand ability, but she is literally blown away onto a nearby cliff, which gives way underneath her. Just as Yukako falls towards some sharp rocks below, she is saved thanks to bouncy sound effects already placed their by Koichi, turning them into harmless springs. As Koichi reunites with Josuke and Okuyasu, Yukako gains an all-new admiration for Koichi, who had saved her despite everything she had done to him.

My Hero Academia EP#23 - Shoto Todoroki: Origin: Izuku and Todoroki begin their match. Izuku, while still trying to win, is attempting to get Todoroki to use his left side so they can both battle at their full power. As Todoroki fights on, more of his past is revealed through flashbacks. He remembers his mother saying it was okay to use his left side because he wanted to be a hero. So Izuku fights Todoroki who is using both sides. Cementoss and Midnight attempt to stop the match before the two deal their final attacks but to no avail. Izuku is thrown out of bounds and Todoroki moves on.

Black Clover EP#43 - Temple Battle Royale: Yami is forced to watch the fight with Gifso. He reveals that his warrior mages are ranked as Intermediate Magic Knights while most of the Bulls are Junior Magic Knights. Yami smugly watches as Asta, Luck, Magna and Gauche each defeat their opponents in seconds, shocking Gifso and reducing the mage team to 5. Gifso reveals his 3 strongest mages would rank as Senior Magic Knights and will surely win. Charmy is put to sleep by her opponents Lullaby Magic, reducing the Bulls team to 8. Magna and Luck team up against another mage. Asta also runs into a mage who fights using swords. The mage, named Kiato, reveals the High Priest is his grandfather and if he defeats Asta he will be allowed to leave the Temple and pursue his dream of becoming a famous dancer. Noelle runs into the Lullaby mage who turns out to be Kahano, whose dream of becoming an idol is also dependant on defeating the Bulls so her grandfather will allow her to leave. As she is Noelle’s friend she insists on fighting fairly. She tries to put Noelle to sleep with her lullaby, but Noelle protects herself with her water shield. As they fight Noelle’s attacks all miss. Kahano tells Noelle she has had perfect control of her magic all along, the only reason she keeps missing is because she unconsciously wants to avoid hurting people. Noelle realises this is true and decides she must fight to win. Asta struggles to match Kiato’s graceful sword style and changes his own style to match it. Vanessa defeats her opponent by trapping him in a web of magical string, leaving the mages with only 4 members to the Bulls 8. The mage facing Luck and Magna is revealed to be Gio, the High Priests Son. As he duels with Luck and Magna he is suddenly crushed beneath a powerful spell as Vetto the Despair arrives with 4 Midnight Sun mages to steal the magic stone.

Hunter x Hunter: The Chimera Ant Arc EP#116 - Revenge × And × Recovery: Face to face with Pitou, Gon can't hold back his rage and urges the Chimera Ant to fight him. Realizing that Pitou is willing to sacrifice itself to protect Komugi, Killua attempts to calm down his friend down with no success, but in the end, Gon gives one hour for Pitou to treat Komugi in exchange of accompanying him to meet Kite and help him recover his senses.

One-Punch Man EP#10 - Unparalleled Peril: The Ancient King of the Terror Lizard Clan appears and Tatsumaki is sent to deal with him. After a short quarrel, Tatsumaki sends a meteor from outer space to destroy the monster. At Bang's dojo, Bang tells Saitama and Genos, who were called there by Bang to learn some moves, about how his former best student, Garo, went wild and defeated all of his other top students. Suddenly, a Hero Association member comes and informs the heroes that an emergency has been declared and all S Class heroes have been called to a meeting. At the association, Saitama meets Atomic Samurai, an arrogant S Class hero, and the other S Class heroes, Puri-Puri Prisoner, Metal Bat, Tanktop Master, Flashy Flash, Watchdog Man, Superalloy Blackluster, Pig God, Drive Knight, Zombieman, King, Child Emperor, except for Metal Knight and Blast, who are absent. Sitch, a member of the associations, starts the meeting by telling the heroes that the emergency would be perilous and even with their skills, there is no guarantee of survival. Also, the great seer, Madame Shibabawa, had died while becoming agitated and choking on a cough pill because of a coughing fit while predicting the future. Sitch mentions that Shibabawa's predictions have always been 100% accurate, be it monster attacks or natural disasters. Before she died, she left a note. The note read "The Earth is in trouble", alarming the heroes. He warns the heroes to prepare for a fight in the next 6 months. Just after he says this, the HQ is attacked by the Skyfolk led by Sky King, who are quickly slain by Melzalgald, a member of an alien race called the Dark Matter Thieves. An alien spacecraft then proceeds to destroy City A, causing a large number of casualties as their alien invasion begins. Just as Melzalgald is about to kill some City A civilians, Iairon, a student of Atomic Samurai, arrives and engages him in battle. Saitama encounters the alien ship and advances towards it. Meanwhile, Melzalgald proves to be a challenge for Iaian and causes him to lose his left arm before Atomic Samurai intervenes, saving his student. Melzalgald regenerates and the heroes' attacks seem to cause no damage to him. Then, Metal Bat, Bang and Puri Puri Prisoner arrive. Puri Puri Prisoner enters Angel style and attacks Melzalgald. Elsewhere, the other S Class heroes discuss how to bring down the ship. As they offer differing views, Genos notes that Saitama has already entered the ship and slain a large number of the aliens. He comments that there is no evil that Saitama is unable to defeat. Saitama encounters Goribas, an alien, bragging how to defeat him. But is slain, as Saitama punches at everything and continues to destroy the ship, wondering where the boss might be. At the end, Boros is seen on his throne.

Samurai Jack EP#04 - Jack, the Woolies, and the Chritchellites: Jack helps free the Woolies from the tyrannical Chritchellites. In return, the leader of the Woolies bestows his wisdom upon Jack.

Samurai Jack EP#05 - Jack in Space: After accidentally exposing a colony of scientists seeking to escape Earth, Jack trains as an astronaut to protect them from Aku's robots.
