Some days I'm Dolma or Dragoon. Basically I'm an old crockery hag is what I'm saying.

Imagine if Arthur recognized Merlin's mannerisms in the Dolma and Dragoon as Merlin mannerism and had to tell Merlin that Arthur put his grandparents on the Camelot's Most Wanted Sorcerer's list, imagine him telling Merlin that his grandfather is wanted for killing the king as well.
And poor Merlin, whose grandparents on both sides have been dead for several decades trying to figure out who the heck Arthur is talking about. He does not even consider the Dolma and Dragoon.

Arthur’s in love with Merlin beyond a physical level. He may not know it, but their souls are intertwined, their fates sealed, their spirits call to one another through the void.
All Arthur knows is that he’s suddenly attracted to a sorcerer older than his father with stunningly blue eyes. It’s either a new kink or his daddy issues rearing their ugly head.

the reason why merlin had to be an old woman as the dolma is because if he were young there would be NO EXCUSE why arthur wouldn't fall in love with her
arthur would be like "this sorceress is so unspeakably beautiful and i feel so attracted as never before and the fact that she looks exactly like a female version of my manservant has clearly nothing to do with that at all"

Arthur: You know, sometimes a coincidence is just a coincidence.
Gaius: Not where Dragoon a.k.a the Dolma a.k.a Emrys a.k.a Merlin is involved.
Arthur: Oh, wait, hold on, excuse me.
[turns to Merlin]
Arthur: The Dolma? Seriously?
Merlin: Hmmm? What?
Arthur: How come I don't know that? I know all of the aliases.
Merlin: Darling, nobody knows all of them… not even me.

I mean I get it's hilarious that Merlin had to turn himself into Dragoon and the Dolma, I get the joke is that it's him in desguise BUT
I can't help thinking of an AU where Dragoon and Dolma are actually separate characters (still played by Colin Morgan because why not) and they are actually Merlin's great aunt and uncle from his father's side. And every time they need an outside sorcerer so Merlin doesn't blow his cover Guias is just like "well now you mention it I'm pretty sure your father has a mad old aunt who survived the purge we could try find" and as the series goes on it's just Merlin learning more about his paternal family who are a bunch of weirdos living in the middle of no where who don't give a hoot about fate or destiny or anything like that but I guess they'll help with King Arthur out if their long lost twink nephew asks nicely.

I hope Colin got a little extra for this episode, I mean, he played THREE different characters masterfully.
Amazing actor.

Reading HP fics is sometimes so funny to me because there are so many characters going 'Merlin's beard' or 'Merlin's balls' or something like that and my mind immediately goes to Colin Morgan
