It does! At the end of the day, we’re all watching the same show regardless of if it’s in English or Japanese and while certain nuances CAN get lost in translation, I know for a fact modern dub work is much better about localization than it was in the past. Honestly I think my biggest complaint with the dubbing industry is that by and large it’s the same people over and over again. You still get popular, recurring seiyuu with the Japanese version, don’t get me wrong, but it seems there is a very limited pool of available voice actors for English dubbed anime. If I ever hear Vic Migona’s voice ever again in this life time it will be too soon.

I must admit that I still find Greg Ayre’s squeaky little boy voice endearing and I do like Hiei’s VA for ... reasons ... but that’s about it.

Note: I know I spelled Vic’s last name wrong but I actually can’t be assed to look it up right now.
