Karen Colville creative arts video manipulation.Her creative work is independent with minimal collaboration, equipment access and support, presented on a limited budget, community arts inclusive of disability. Disabled is considered a politically incorrect word because it is tied to negative stereotypes. Artist living with a disability. The phrase”people with disabilities” is less de-humanizing.

We cannot focus on people facing challenges unless we see ,fund and act towards beyond potential, as imbalances in society, until we acknowledge more successful people with disabilities,Actress Lauren “Lolo” Spencer is receiving rave reviews for her breakout role as the first African-American disabled lead female in the new film, Give Me Liberty. Lauren has ALS and is wheel-chair bound, but still shines as one of the most talented actresses of our time. Hollywood, however, has long ignored actors and actresses with disabilities, and so the Multicultural International Motion Picture Association (MIMPA) is really pushing The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences to nominate her for an Oscar. Countries as Canada Holly wood North also need to step up. This will be more of a world wide movement to over see better representation in main stream media as whether we are disabled or not able and disabled, the one thing that connects us all, is that we are human.

Communicating with Dreaming of A Better World a music arts video montage is a slide show collection with video clips,reflects the environment, that is hidden away, lived experiences of disabled people, blacks, First Nations and represents the evolution as a way as, positive change evolves, the terms of under represented communities, who too often remain invisible, however, funding means agencies need to invest in programs that actually work,masking the very different experiences and needs of diverse individuals and groups, are covered by an overly-broad umbrella term. We need to breathe, our identities,Your words are a powerful tool to uplift the people around you. It may take practice and missteps before the walls are torn down, but adjusting your words is a good start to making empathy second nature — and that, truly, is part of what it means to be human.

All Dreams must be fulfilled with action and this comes from getting community support and access to the mainstream for main stream acceptance..Underrepresented Minority' Considered Harmful, Racist Language, How do we consider the person or groups living with disabilities? Is it any wonder that being labeled an disabled underrepresented minority makes me feel unworthy, unprivileged, but most of all inferior? people with disabilities are viewed as less valuable, or even seen as expendable. There are places as companies that do not want to hire people with disabilities. The term marginalized communities also needs to be examined.

There is a film industry in Vancouver,what film makers living with a disability, get the opportunity to train and advance themselves with careers in the main stream, most disability focused film, video, media, arts, remain in the disability community, what real opportunities are there for inclusion as acceptance?

Available funding, is limited to one disabled film maker that has experience in making a feature film. It is very difficult for organizations to have budgets that can provide, disabled people access for the right kind of qualifications to make a screen worthy film to be featured in film festivals. Feature film makers make the industry more inclusive. Always considered as outsiders and fringe.

Andy Warhol is an example of a famous Artist , he created numerous experimental and arts films. This changed the way society and mass consumption was viewed at a time when being gay was illegal in the 1960s, this was 40 years ago. year by year we see more positive changes, it is taking a lifetime and more generations of people towards an actual improved world of acceptance.

Karen expresses her creative work does not want to be hidden from history, because of her experiencing physical challenges, she is experiencing in her world view or view of her community. Then there is the negative stereotype of the name Karen, is more propaganda in recent times, as confronting these human issues with resolve.

Community development involves gradual changes, and this changes as who gets access to opportunities and funding to resolve the issues communities face.

Karen’s experimental works are screened international with First Time film makers, Together Culture, UK, Human Rights and in Vancouver Canada at ability events online.She won an Award for Northern Lights a short music film at the Sit Down & Shut Up Festival Australia,2019.

Karen is recognized in her Church community that includes initiatives to challenge serious issues as inclusion together with music, housing , community and studio, equipment and opportunity access,an important issue the disabled face with other disabled Artists living in the DTES, participating in a Music Program. Some Artists living with a disability, not all disabilities are the same.,bring together disabled people with learning difficulties, physical and sensory impairments and mental health difficulties from across age and cultural groups. In addition, ability arts focus on the cultural contribution of the Artist, not the disability defining the individual.

When disabilities are not visible, some disabled are living with mental health having different levels of contribution and are living as isolated without being a voice or active participant,among marginalized people of different Heritage , underrepresented people with backgrounds of cultural diversity. and socioeconomic backgrounds.

This is to open dialogue in the abilities community on the barriers as issues in their lives in community. Importance as How the environment adapts to their present needs. Karen also sits on a task force with the Province addressing issues of access and with inclusion with the Province of British Columbia of a panel of disabled people in partnership with KickStart Disability Arts. The Vancouver Film Industry is at present,2020, in feature films is hiring Black African Canadians, First Nations as part of a reconciliation incentive, and in the future is considering the hiring of disabled people to give valuable skills towards employment in the feature film industry. Karen is also being considered for future projects in the feature film industry of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Karen advocates for more disabled people to be included in the Canadian and foreign film collaborations, partnerships, as community with fair pay and opportunity as gaining valuable skills to secure ongoing employment opportunities in feature film production., Karen Colville is a self identified as a new media, film, video presenter with a focus on community empowerment. Karen Colville is also a member of Kickstart Disability arts, , an active participant in the disability arts community Karen Colville is recognized in the Deaf and Disability Community as an Artist, Deaf and Disabled Video Filmmaker and she has received in the past Canada Council award for deaf and disability arts, that led her to explore experimental, music video creation with a community focus,, video making and editing with music, in experimental arts. She enjoys learning new skills, experimenting with different mediums and with a basic skill set of editing, placing her work into new media presentations with Singing and writing original songs, presenting and reemerging as a performer in the deaf and disability community,participating in the past as a presenter, she has her own Youtube channel where she talks on arts and culture, with music and experimental arts. Dreaming of a Better world is inclusion, diversity with economic development and audio visual music experimental on community focus. this project in support with the DTES, small grants, Vancouver Foundation. Karen is highlighting lived experiences of the DTES, that includes different people of socio economic backgrounds, Disabled, First Nations. Introduction, this is towards inclusion with economic development and community safety. Communities that are often overlooked for investment opportunities. While many are making strides towards independence, employment, inclusion and economic stability, others are marginalized with substandard means of living and there is also consideration as not to exploit the vulnerable in any way with respect, this presentation contains optimism, healing past traumas together, with different people of socio economic status to get along and achieve goals to increase economic status to be voices with inclusion in urban communities, The DTES is under continued development. as being the poorest postal code in all of Canada for decades with gradual economic change as including the disabled community. Housing shortages also place the disabled in this community. Karen also researched her creative arts mediawork, with other disability advocates sharing information on standards for the disabled often overlooked for opportunity with inclusion, in the UK and other countries in an exchange of information. Creative development is contemporary, in multi media experimentation as a means to socio and economic development, The song on audio support is uplifting with a positive and realistic outlook while experiencing difficult times, with optimism and faith beyond hope is with action for inclusion with diversity, while so many disabled people's lives are isolated in poverty, and low living standards, slow and gradual changes are for vulnerable in the neighborhood in serious need of community development, sharing history,culture and stories, as a means towards reconciliation with goals of safer communities and a positive future. Her plans are to perform live with adaptive equipment with the disability community, with KickStart Disability Arts and other festivals, online as per inclusion. Karen also plans to see her music collaborations used in an independent film. “I told you before, I do not like crowds,” Xiao scowled. “Why should I attend this ‘Christmas Party’ you’re so insistent on going to?”

“Because we have to let the public know that Gemmy in okay after 9 months of being lost,” Jingwei said. “And there’s this one guy who flirts with them every year. It makes them so uncomfortable.”

“What?”

“If you are absolutely against going, I will not force you,” Jingwei sighed as she turned around, suits in hand. “We’ll just let Gemmy deal with him again this year.”

Xiao teleported in front of Jingwei to stop her, taking his suit and grumbling incoherently.

“I’ll see you in the lounge in thirty.” A smirk graced the Celestial’s lips as she left.

“Thread wasn’t lying,” Firecracker noted. “You really do look like a prince!”

“AWW!!” Meili cooed. “You look so adorable! I must have a picture.”

The rest of the team, alsodressing in semi-formal wear, turned towards Xiao as he stood beside Gemmy.

“It’s surprisingly comfortable.”

“That’s how Thread does her work,” Gemmy chuckled as they lightly elbowed Xiao.

“Enough gawking at them, guys!” Chef exclaimed. “Let’s go or we’re gonna miss the best part!”

An hour into the party and Xiao wanted to leave.

“You okay?” Gemmy asked, concerned about their friend. “You don’t have to stay if you don’t want to, y’know.”

“I’m fine,” he snapped, flinching at the harshness of his tone.

Gemmy pouted at the obvious lie. “Is something bothering you? You kept an eye on me more than usual. Should I get the others?”

“No, it just—”

A brat pushed Xiao away from Gemmy, almost causing him to summon his spear.

“Why, if it isn’t my future spouse?” He said with a cocky tone. “You gave me quite a scare, running away like that. You’re lucky I’m so forgiving.”

“Buzz off, knob-head,” Gemmy growled. “I don’t belong to you and would sooner die than be with you.”

“But baby~,” he said with a punchable face. “You haven’t even let yourself try.” The little fuck tried to grab their chin and kiss them.

But Xiao made himself known, catching the jerk’s wrist and nearly breaking it as he glared. “What makes you think something like that is okay?”

As the bitch boy shivered in fear, Xiao moved to be between him and Gemmy. “Why don’t you just buzz off. You’re making Gem nervous.”

“I thought your name was ‘Jan’,” the nobody whimpered. “Is this your boyfriend? Have you been cheating on me?!”

As Gemmy and Xiao’s faces burned up, Ghost appeared and kick the third in the back of his knees. “Get lost, or I’ll call security.”

That had him running as Ghost addressed her sibling and teammate. “There’s a balcony on the third floor. Go get some air.”

“Uh, yeah,” Gemmy choked out as they dragged Xiao behind them, desperate to escape the awkward situation.

i am assuming meili didn't go to the party otherwise she would've punched the guy in the face without any hesitation. they probably tried to keep mingzhu home but i wouldn't be surprised if she snuck out and somehow tagged along. xiao and gemmy later find out that mingzhu bit that dude's ankles bc they harassed gemmy and that's not allowed >:( he was not prepared to be bitten by a baby dragon. gemmy now has a tiny bodyguard at these events.
