When I was introducing Inazuma Eleven to my friend for the first time they asked me if Zanark and Kanon are related and when I asked why'd they think that they said "they look similar to each other". Best shit I've heard in a while I'm headcanoning them as distant cousins now except they're distant for real /hj

Hey, by any chance, would you like to read a book series...

-With a ton of LGBT+ representation?

-That takes inspiration from D&D, The Elder Scrolls, and The Witcher, but still has its own identity?

-With both classic fantasy races and unique races?

-That is written for college age individuals?

-Where most of the main characters are in the age range of 18-26?

-That has complex lore?

-That explores themes of abuse, and is written by someone who has experienced mental and emotional abuse?

-That has a format of having individual stories every book? (Every book has its own plot, and you can read most of the books without having read the previous ones!)

-Where the friendships feel real?

-That addresses toxic friendships and romances maturely?

-Where redemption arcs are done well?

Well, these are the things I’m trying to accomplish with Mistren! But I need at least somewhat of an online following first. These days, writing agents and publishers want to know that a book will sell.

And that’s why I would love it if some of my followers here could possibly take a look at this blog. Even if you don’t want to follow, please reblog a couple of posts! It would help tremendously!

Magic in Mistren (Part One)

Lore dump time already???

Yes, it’s lore dump time already.

Magic is complex in Mistren.

The universe is filled with magical energy, but perhaps the most important source of magic is a soul.

Beings with souls (anything with a higher consciousness) can use magic, although some are more adept at it than others. Factors such as species, skill at casting, and strength of the soul all affect the individual’s ability to use magic, and/or their power level.

A person’s race (species) determines how much innate magic they will be able to use and what kind. Innate magic being the magic they’re able to use without practice or having to use any specific words or gestures.

From the races who have the hardest time learning magic to the ones who can cast basic spells even as children:

1. Non-Magical Mortals: Many mortals have no innate magic, and have to study magic in order to use it. Their souls may not necessarily be weaker than more magical races, but rather the more magical races have bodies that are partially MADE of magical energy, which allows them to cast spells more easily, and without tiring themselves out.

Mortals in this category include: Humans, dwarves, orcs, “common” giants, and goblins.

2. Magical Mortals: Again, these mortals have bodies partially made of magic. Usually they live much longer than non-magical mortals, and they learn spells more easily. Each one has a small number of spells that they can cast at will, without having to use words or gestures.

Mortals in this category include: Elves, gnomes, all giants besides common giants, and shapeshifters (including werebeasts).

3. Immortals: When a person’s body is made mostly, or entirely, of magical energy, then they’re immortal, and they have such an easy time using magic that they may cause small magical effects without even trying to produce them.

This category includes: Demons, Angels, Celestials (beings from various ancient mythologies, such as satyrs, dryads, and nymphs), Fae, Dannick (a race I created, which I will go over in a later post), and Eldritch Beings.

There are a few special categories after that…

1. Some undead: Not included above because they weren’t born with their powers. This category includes lich, vampires, mummies, and ghosts. All of these have varying degrees of magical powers given to them only in undeath.

2. Hybrids: Obviously, sometimes people from the different races are able to breed. Some types are common, such as human-elf or dwarf-gnome hybrids, and some are more rare, such as demon-elf or fae-human hybrids.

The power level of a hybrid depends on the races of the parents. If both parents were in one specific power category, then the child will be at that power level as well. If they were from different categories… Well….

Category 1 + Category 2 = Category 2

Category 2 + Category 3 = Category 3

Category 1 + Category 3 = Category 2

Got that? Also, undead cannot breed, so there are no half-lich or half-vampires.

3. Dragons: Okay, dragons are way too powerful to be in category 2, but they aren’t immortal. They can live for up to 5,000 years, but they aren’t immortal.

Inatober: Day 09: Earth FW + Dandelion

Today I’m a bit late, but I’m in time. Dandelions are one of my favourite flowers, they’re so interesting, so beautifull. Today I choose something more complex because I couldn’t draw Eska or Mistrene without Baddap, they are a pack. And even if it doesn’t seem to fit them, they really are. Dandelions mean healing from pain/emotional pain, surviving from challenges and difficult times, find joy and happiness and wishes that become true. All of this fit them. The Ogre is a Team that suffered a lot (physical/emotional) in order to become the best perfect team, but they find the start of the healing process and happiness in Endou and the Raimon. Bonus points because some people think Dandelions are a weed and don’t have any good. And The Ogre was an enemy team. So yeah, I think this flowers suits them well. Inatober by @inazumafocus
