You ever think about how weird and disquieting it is that, when you dig down to the bottom of it, Ben Shapiro and Bob Chipman have the same worldview?

Like, they both view people in terms of the brilliant shining geniuses and everyone else; or to put it in terms of the rotten core of the idea, the "elect" and the "chattel."

The only difference is who they view as "elect" and "chattel"...

His implication that intelligence is more a “natural selection” driven inheritable trait than, well, learned, and latching on to the western myth of advancement is kinda shitty, TBQH. I like how babelingua puts it: “That doesn’t mean [a monkey] is dumb. [Monkeys] spent just as much time evolving for their niche as any human.” I’m sure if his “Darwin awards” favoring viewpoint were brought to his attention in a stark matter he’d be reasonable about it. Unlike his weird fifth column adjacent hate fandom I do not consider him a eugenicist. Nonetheless, it is still disappointing he blurted so much out. Besides those quibbles, this video is spot on.

Honestly I'm with Jerika, why do randos keep going after Theory videos for AI when they always PUT THE ARTIST IN THEIR CREDITS.

Listen I know people don't read the descriptions, but this is honestly how I knew Matt was going to retire a full two years before he did so. I saw the transition of him being the solo writer, to having collaborators, to having one or two main writers and then his name started to disappear altogether. okay this not about dob, but about moviebob what do you think is the worst things have he ever done?

I’m not as knowledgeable on Bob as I am Dobson, so I can’t pick a specific moment, but I’ll say any time he goes into his “eugenics is good, actually, and should be used on those dumb ignorant hicks so the superior intellectuals like me can thrive” mode.

And he does that a LOT.

LO is simply a lot like Moviebob was back in the day. Pretends to have empathy and support liberal views but in the end slavishly worships giant corporations and consooms next product.

i was never too familiar with Moviebob beyond the fact Lindsay Ellis had to tell him to back off and later she asked people to stop harassing him, so i'll take your word for it. LO has always been open about admiring him.

The Ray Fisher situation really was fascinating because it showed us how many nerds who see themselves as progressive were willing to excuse workplace abuse as long as it meant superhero movies were made in the ‘correct’ way.
