Nayshall's clothing (pt. 1)
I'm gonna be 100% honest with ya'll. I was writing a Bosch smut and for the life of me, I didn't know the names of the clothes he was wearing. But I didn't want to put "Robes" and move on, so I did a deep dive into Nayshall's clothes.
Nayshall is a blend of multiple cultures in one, but the general consensus of forums on Reddit and other forums was that Nayshall was inspired by Bhutan, Nepal, Indian, and Tibet cultures.
This is going to be split into multiple of parts because Nayshall has a lot of different types of clothes so I won't be able to cover it in one sitting. I barely even scratched the surface here.
If anyone is more knowledgeable than me and sees that I got something wrong please tell me in the comments. But I'm posting this because I want people to see the hard work the street-fighting devs put into this and the world of Nayshall.
Chuba
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The chuba is a floor-length, left-crossing loose garment that is adjusted at the waist with a wide, usually red cloth belt, and pulled up to different degrees according to sex, rank or region. It is an extraordinarily adaptable garment worn by town dwellers, farmers, nomads, men and women alike, and is equally wearable on horse or motorcycle.
Chubas are pocket-less and held together with a waistband, with room in the front that serves as an “inside pocket” or inner pouch to store necessities such as food items, money belts, amulets, personal things, and even an infant in the bosom.
The chuba can be worn in different lengths, and the shorter the chuba, the more voluminous the pouch resulting from the overhanging material used to hold small items. Women wear their chuba ankle length, while men mostly pull them up the mid-calf or above the knee. Tibetan weather is fickle and temperatures can rise and fall within minutes.
Half-chupas: Just the skirt
Full chupas: Can be worn with a shirt
One-piece chupas: A one-piece dress
Town women: Wear their chubas floor length with pumps or high heel boots
Farmers and nomads: Double them over trousers
Ex: Rewancha, Yua, and Bosch all wore a form of chuba as their gown.  The Chuba had 2 sleeves, but the locals usually only wear one sleeve and leave the other hanging loose. This is a way of adjusting the body temperature. When it gets hot, they take off one sleeve to cool down a bit. But if the temperature keeps rising they remove another sleeve too. We can actually see in Bosch's picture that the other sleeve is tucked in the back.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They often have soft fur, pulu, or colorful cloth on the collar, front, cuff, and lower hem of the gown.
5 types of robes could be made out of, Pulu woven fabrics, lambskin robes, sheepskin robes, woolen robes, and light robes.
Woolen robes are made with inner layers of sheep fur, so they are light and warm, making them popular in warmer, agricultural areas like Nayshall.
Pulu, the traditional Tibetan wool fabric, is made by fluffing and combing the wool into a thread by fingers, then weaving it with a wooden shuttle loom. Pulu robes are a favorite in pastoral areas as well as farmland.
Lambskin is ranked by degree, according to the length of lamb hair, curliness, and quality of the skin. 40+ lambskin is necessary to make a medium-class lambskin robe.

Modern and traditional
A growing trend among young Tibetans is blending traditional and modern casual clothing. Young Tibetans often try to find a balance between modern styles and their cultural heritage. It is not uncommon to see some Western-style clothing like jeans and t-shirts
The classic chuba robe is still everywhere, but Tibetan youth will make stylish adaptations. The cut of the fabric or the embroidered designs will be changed to something more contemporary. These changes show the desire to keep old traditions alive while making innovations to express personal style.
Ex. Same with the people in Nayshall they blend traditional and modern together. Shopkeeper Tsanpa wears jeans with his gho (Bhutan) tucked in. Yua wears modern shoes that resemble Tibetan boots, and Kina wears a beanie on top of her head.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
note that Kina may also be wearing a Kora Yushu hat.
The Kora Yushu hat is made from a blend of yak and merino wool, and its fabric originates from Tibet and China. Kora sources the wool directly from Tibetan communities to ensure its quality and origin. The hat is lightweight, warm, and thin enough to fit beneath a hood or helmet, making it suitable for winter and mountain use.

Hairbeads
Tibetan hair jewelry, including braids and hair beads, is used to mark life milestones like birth, marriage, adulthood, and death. The jewelry often reflects the colors of nature.
Tibetan hair beads can be used by both men and women. In Tibet, long hair was recommended for both men and women, except for monks and nuns. Tibetan braids can signal a woman's marital status, social rank, and tribal affiliation. Tibetan men wear hair beads but there is no male equivalent.
Tumblr media
Headdress
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tibetan headdresses vary by region, age, and marital status. For example, unmarried girls wear a single braid with a red hair string, called Xia Jiu in Tibetan.
Tibetan women wear headdresses on special occasions, such as festivals and their comings-of-age. Headdresses can be colorful and made of coral, turquoise, or other materials. For example, a "Bazhu" is a deluxe headdress made of coral or turquoise with gold or silver earrings. Tibetan women also wear silver bracelets on their left hand and white conch bracelets on their right.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jewelry
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tibetans traditionally wear jewelry, which is often made from gold, silver, and precious stones. The most common gems used are turquoise, coral, and pearls, which are used in necklaces, earrings, hair ornaments, and to decorate ritual objects. Tibetan jewelry can also be made from cow bone, amber, shell, and agate.
Tibetans wear a variety of jewelry, including ornaments made of gold and silver, as well as jewelry made of amber, agate, jadeite, pearl, and ivory. Tibetan jewelry traditionally features materials from across South Asia, East Asia, and the Middle East, and the symbols on Tibetan jewelry are usually from Himalayan Buddhism. Tibetans like to wear many ornaments and jewelry, such as Buddha beads, hair bands, hair accessories, belts, prayer beads, and necklaces.
Jewelry is a symbol of status and wealth in Tibetan culture, and each design has a specific meaning. For example, ornaments with symbols of animals, flowers, and stones are often given to commemorate special occasions. Some also believe that wearing gold enhances spiritual power over evil spirits. Offering jewelry to holy statues is thought to generate positive virtue for the donor.
This article also goes into the types of ornaments they use in their jewelry
Jewelry can also serve as a talisman, with different amulets protecting against disease and harm. For example, coral and turquoise are said to ward off evil spirits and illness.
Many Tibetan jewelry pieces are passed down from generation to generation. For example, some Tibetan-style pendants are used in Buddhism as ritual instruments to subdue demons, which are believed to dispel sins and bring people power, intelligence, and courage. Many of these pendants also have Sanskrit inscriptions of a religious symbolic nature.
Braids
Braids are also a symbol of strength, wisdom, and identity for some indigenous men and boys. They can also represent a connection to the earth, ancestors, and the creator. For example, in Native American tradition, hair is a signifier of spiritual practice, and braiding demonstrates strength in unity
boots
sumba shoes
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tibetans typically wear boots, which are more cultural representations than practical clothing. However, due to the prevalence of mass-produced shoes, traditional Tibetan boots are no longer the daily footwear for ordinary Tibetans. Instead, they are now usually part of ceremonial attire.
Tibetan boots are a significant part of the Tibetan way of life. They are more cultural than practical, and are worn to represent different regions and environments. For example, boots with a pointed toe are suitable for different types of terrain, and can be worn with a garter in cold weather. Boots from different regions of Tibet have different styles and qualities. For example, boots from Chamdo and northern Tibet are simple, while boots from Shannan and Xigaze are more delicate.
Tibetan boots are commonly made from cowhide, pigskin, corduroy, and pulu, a traditional woolen fabric. Other materials used include cloth, canvas, velvet, leather, and felt. The original boots were made from yak hide, and the soles were embroidered with patterns like dragons and snakes, and the shoes were decorated with red and green woolen cloth.
Tibetan boots come in two general types: short leg and long leg. Most Tibetan boots are lined or padded, though some may be unlined. The heads of corduroy boots are made of cowhide, and many kinds of pulu boots have cowhide soles.

JP as a Father - Hardheaded
Tumblr media
-This will contain main story spoilers for street fighter 6 -
Do you think that the Johan Petrovich would care for his offspring? Especially when he didn't care for your mother? JP just needed a little stress relief and your mother was just a lady wanted to sleep with her boss, like in the stories. You just so happen to be the long term consequence of that night.
Naturally, you inherited his psycho power, so your mother moved far away into the corner of the lowlands. She didn't want you anywhere near that man.
At first, your mother didn't know what to do with your power, but you soon found work, cleaning up the sketchy individuals that lurked near your home, robbing them of all their zenny to feed you and your mother.
When you finally came of age, you moved out of your mother's small home and moved away from Nayshall. You wanted to be someone but who could you be? Of course, figuring out the history behind your strange ability is a must. If you didn't get it from your mother, you definitely got it from your father? Right? This type of stuff isn't even a birth defect, from what you've read.
Landing in Metro City, USA, you were excited to see a new city. You got an apartment and enrolled in Buckler's Security Services! You meet your trainer, Luke, and this fellow named Bosch. The way he dresses sure remind you a lot of home.
Going through the main story, trying to find your meaning of strength, Bosch suddenly going MIA, and people requesting help back to back, you somehow ended back where you started: Nayshall. Meeting Kalima and Rewancha and how they talked of a man named JP, you could feel your stomach curl. Something about how they described him, his power, made you think. Your mother always mentioned how she'd use to be an accountant for a large company. She always mentioned she made a big mistake and was protecting you from the danger. And she always said how much she knew you'd never listen to her.
Sneaking into the tournament arena to fix the championship belt, you could feel a lurking presence, a mean, a evil presence lurking around you. You couldn't put your finger on it.. When you reach for the belt, you heard a deep voice. Turning to the voice, you look up at a man. He introduces himself as Johan. Johan Petrovich.
"You're Johan Petrovich?"
He looks at you and nods. You clench your fist, purple fire envelopes it. You hold it up to him in an almost threatening stance.
"Then I will be the one who will take your life."
JP doesn't say anything. That look in your eyes says enough. You have his eyes. When you walk away from him, heading out the door, his voice reaches you.
"Tell your mother I said hello."
After the tournament, your fight with JP, and Bosch's death, you meet JP at the entrance of the arena. You can't help but to look at him with disgust. This man aggravates the fuck out of you, and not in the usual way. He doesn't even look your way when you approach.
"My child,"
"Who the hell you calling that?"
He shakes his head turns to you.
"Your mother was never much of a talker."
You felt your power hyperdrive your anger. You ball your fist, attempting to uppercut the taller male. He hit your hand away with his cane. Taking a large step back, you went into your usual fighting stance.
You stare at the man who just wants to see the end of the world, the man that terrorizes countries because life is meaningless and death is the goal, the man who killed your best friend and countless others, and you couldn't believe what he fixed his lips to say.
"____, I am your father."

My HC is that Yua was actually the one to dye both her and his brother's hair with DIY hairdye from spices when they both joined the Nayshalli Resistance, and Bosch let her do it bc I believe he's a good big brother and it made her happy so he let her do whatever to his hair. (PS.: Probs it had to be retouched by auntie Kalima later on bc it turned blotchy-)

Where does Bosch live?
You know, I wanted to write some small headcannons about meeting Bosch when you and him are younger. But I’m having a hard time deciding where he actually lives. Old Nayshall or Lowlands.
For some reason, I thought that Bosch lived in Lowlands because that’s the main area where we would’ve gotten any information about the Resistance.
But when doing a deep dive into Nayshalli clothing, the people in the Lowlands wear slightly different clothing than Bosch and Yua. I’ve mentioned before that Nayshall was a blend of multiple cultures, so in Old Nayshall you would see people wearing Chubas, Ghos, Saris, and Kiras.
Then I read Street Writer’s article on Nayshall and they mentioned “In Old Nayshall the majority of residents still wore traditional Tibetan fashion. In the Lowlands, they wore more Western attire. Mostly tank tops, and pants.” So I had to see for myself.
When you go into the Lowlands, they are wearing Western attire. Their clothes are simpler and more modern than traditional. But they do have traditional clothing that’s mixed with mostly modern ones. The most prominent traditional clothing are Ghos and Kiras, which are from Bhutan.
Lowland's clothing is different from the ones in Old Nayshall:
Lowlands
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Old Nayshall
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They do have Tibetan elements in the Lowlands but not much, it’s mostly seen in their boots. In total, I think I only saw 2 people wearing Chubas when exploring it. Not to say they don’t, but it’s more common to see people wearing chubas in Old Nayshall than Lowlands.
Not a major detail but every time we interact with Yua she’s always in Old Nayshall. And usually, when people grow up in a certain area, they tend to reside there.
So I'm leaning more towards Old Nayshall for where Bosch and Yua live. Does anyone agree with this or do you think they live in the Lowlands?

LukeJamie Headcanons 🌟🍶
It's 3:34 AM and I can't sleep, here's some headcanons I have for these losers <3 Putting under the cut so I don't clog up dashes
Jamie knows how to cook, it came with living with his grandmother in the middle of nowhere and idolizing Yun and Yang, who own a restaurant. Luke can make basic things, but ask him to make anything more and it's a disaster guaranteed. Jamie never admits it but he loves cooking food for Luke because it's a subtle, wordless way for him to show his love.
Jamie's love language is giving acts of service and receiving words of affection. Luke's love language is giving quality time and receiving gifts.
Luke's apartment is a mess, usually placing things wherever it's convenient and forgets to do his chores sometimes. Jamie's surprisingly the opposite, keeping things organized and tidy. Cleanliness was practically ingrained in his brain because his grandmother was a huge on keeping things clean. When they start living together, Luke does try to make an effort to keep things organized because he knows it bothers Jamie.
Jamie's a cat person while Luke's a dog person. They always have petty arguments about this.
Luke's usually the big spoon while Jamie's the little spoon but that's because their height difference makes it easy (and Jamie doesn't like to admit it but he does like being held in Luke's arms). However, if Luke's having a bad day, Jamie would be the big spoon to comfort him.
Jamie always steals Luke's clothes. Luke has no say in what clothes get stolen, they just disappear from his closet. He would lightheartedly complain about it but he does love seeing Jamie wear his clothes - it makes him feel all warm inside. Jamie does think Luke's clothes are ugly, but he has to admit that they're pretty comfy to wear. Luke would steal Jamie's clothes if 1) they weren't too small for him and 2) if Jamie owned anything else other than primarily crop tops.
Luke LOVES using pet names. He mostly uses 'babe,' but he'll use just about any pet name ever, including nicknames (like 'Jay'). Jamie isn't big on using pet names, but there was this one time where he called Luke a term of endearment in Cantonese and refused to translate it for him. They mostly use insults as terms of endearment though - for Luke it's 'pretty boy' and Jamie uses 'meathead,' 'dummy,' and 'dork.'
Jamie cannot drive for his life, so if they ever have to drive anywhere, Luke is always designated driver.
Luke loves PDA - he'll take any opportunity to hold Jamie's hand, wrap his arm around Jamie's shoulder or waist, or kiss his cheek. Jamie, surprisingly, is reserved when it comes to public affection. He prefers keeping intimacy private and always gets flustered when Luke starts getting really affectionate in public. Luke gets a kick out of it and always teases him about it.
Neither of them are really overprotective over the other, as they trust each other to be able to protect themselves and navigate Metro City on their own. However, Luke does get worried about Jamie sometimes, as he's much more reckless and he has a little fear of something happening to him that can't be controlled, fueled by the loss of his father and the Nayshall incident. It doesn't help that Jamie doesn't really value his own life very much either - it's residual from his neglectful parents and growing up delinquent.
One time Jamie came home extremely bruised and beaten up during a rough patrol and Luke became upset seeing his boyfriend so badly hurt. Jamie was initially confused, since he was still alive and well, and it takes him a long time to understand that Luke genuinely does care about his wellbeing and if something did happen to him it would tear Luke apart. He starts being more careful after that incident - if not for himself, then for Luke.

Hi! I was wondering if you could do headcannons for Jamie,Luke and Bosch? Like how would they deal with summer heat? (It's 95 degrees here ;A;)
Of course! This is such a nice idea, good luck dealing with the heat wave <3
Jamie:
Being from Hong Kong, he's relatively used to warm weather. The winters are often muggy, grey and wet, the kind that turn your skin into this sweaty, glistening, sticky surface that forces you to shower more often than you should. And the summers can be dry and suffocating as well or humid and also unbearable;
It's good thing for him that he has no problem showing his body, his clothing choices help keep him cool. For the most part;
Right now it's too warm even for the great Jamie Siu— one more reason for him to stay inside during the day and come out only at night, when there's a cool breeze again, to watch over the town;
Breaking is a no-no, it's too warm, he's sweating enough as is without doing windmills and freezes, the only exception being if he needs to kick someone's ass;
During the times he's home he'll just wear nothing but his boxer shorts and his hair in a bun to keep it out of his neck.
Luke:
This man needs help. He doesn't take the summer heat well at all, he's sweating from places he didn't even know were possible to sweat from;
Often takes a long step while walking because things are sticking together in the nether regions;
He struggles with the sun itself too, having light colored eyes makes him more sensitive to the light, often getting headaches if he stays outside too long;
Coaching people at the academy is impossible without having the fans on and the windows covered so the sun doesn't come in;
Gaming is excruciating, he has one of those desk fans to keep him cool but it still barely helps. He gets frustrated with how sticky his palms get and how much residue ends up on his controller or mouse;
It's to the point he needs to watch out to not get a rash inside his elbows;
Is constantly taking quick showers just to freshen up a bit.
Bosch:
He's used to these temperatures and even higher, Nayshall's summer can be devastating to the point of causing fires;
It blows everyone else's minds that he can still wear his usual outfit to fight with. What they don't know is that covering up generally keeps you cooler;
If he does get too warm he just wraps a wet bandana over his head, but it's usually not needed;
Doesn't understand why everyone gets almost naked, knowing that it'll only make it worse and get them sunburnt in the process;
Thinks it's funny how his coach struggles with the heat so badly and knows he would not last a second in his land;
In the end, even dealing well with it, he still prefers it when it's a bit colder.

I just got to the level of bond where Luke reveals he's a PMC yesterday and was curious as to your thoughts on what that says about his character.
Kinda disappointing tbh. He's a pretty dorky and charming character and then they had to go and make him a pig.
I'm not even wholly opposed to him being a solider, because I felt like they were going in the direction of 'wide-eyed idealist wants to take after his daddy and joins the army to emulate him and then is horrified by the unglamorous reality of the military complex' but having him then switch to being a PMC makes it weird because apparently he's not that bothered by the whole thing. That and narratively it feels like it only exists to have him be in Nayshall for the prequel comics and afaik it doesn't really play much else of a role in his character aside from the training gym being owned by a security company (which could easily be written out without any significant change to the story)
Yeah sure capcom make all the memes you want but I'll just be sitting uncomfortably off to the side wondering how many civilian casualties he's responsible for. And you could say 'well it's a game and he totally could have been a Good Cop that didn't do any bad stuff or hurt anyone that didn't deserve it' but that's cartoonishly idealistic given that this game in specific goes out of its way to discuss topics like information warfare and how easy it is to slander someone's reputation over the internet and how technology plays an increasing role on the physical battlefield to replace human soldiers. It's hard to believe he hasn't at the very least knocked around some strikers protesting a corporation's business tactics. In the end it just leaves a sour taste in my mouth

Street Fighter 6 comic Issue #4
Tumblr media
lmao
DAMN this got pretty, good they saved the best art for the finale
So Ken’s admitting as much that it was never really about Nayshall and I like this. Ken’s just broken at this point and it’s crashing down on him the weight of how careless he was, and even if he was indeed tricked, he isn’t let off the hook (Kalima remarking “I believe your Foundation would have run its own checks as well?” and Ken not having listened to anyone who did and now berating himself for being a fucking idiot). What I’m liking a lot about this framing plot is it not being as clear-cut as Ken being innocent, Ken really does have shit to answer for, but it is also a monstrously unfair situation for him to be in and we want him to get out of it.
It is made all the more meaningful by how JP actually got Ken to do the things he’s being hunted for: Ken did fund an opressive infrastructure, he did fund projects that helped bring ruin to a nation, he did collude with terrorists, he did bring a horrific amount of danger to his own family, and he did detonate bombs all over a city that hurt dozens of innocent people. JP goaded, prodded and manipulated him every step of the way and then finally twisted his arm to make him an accessory to murder (and would have done it had Luke not been there by sheer happenstance), but the ruin of Nayshall has Ken’s name all over it and Ken himself put it there.
Tumblr media
And oh god this comic’s going a long way to showing that, if we think what’s happening to Ken is bad enough, what JP’s done to Nayshall is much, much worse. I really really appreciate the comic making a point that Nayshall’s citizens are at much greater danger and that they are the bigger victims here, and that Kalima only bothered saving Ken because of his love for Mel.
A reach maybe but I’ll simply have to believe Naoki Urasawa’s Monster was an influence here in the wake of this panel and sequence, to me it almost feels like something out of the Ruhenheim arc.
Tumblr media
So Kalima wasn’t really JP’s assistant after all, but a figurehead within Nayshall seeking independence for it that he’s also tricked and manipulated into giving him leeway, and we get the reveal that JP was staging false flag bombings to poison the well regarding the real independence movement within Nayshall. And oh man it’s, really just as we finally get Kalima’s deal and where she stands on this scenario is where she has to go. Really curious to see if she’ll turn up in-game, kinda hoping she does.
Tumblr media
I guess 4 issues wasn’t much but I do wish Mel got to do more. But I do like him hijacking the drone transmission tech to put himself on display before Ken to give him that second wind. Luke and Ken’s fight scene is pretty great, none of the expected flash from a Street Fighter climactic fight scene. Just raw, miserable slugging with the comic painting this vast gulf of skill between the two as neither can afford to go down with the entire world watching
And oh man the way this depicts Ken opposite Luke, Luke’s desperation opposite Ken’s uncanny sharpness and even stillness, something you never really expected from Ken who's all flash most of the time. That THIS is the backstory for Luke’s scar, Ken just fucking punched that foul into him and let Luke give a monster uppercut to the chin freebie to him in return that didn't even remotely slow down, Ken as a fucking monster of a fighter finally getting to do the one thing he's still good at.
And all of that for nothing, Ken just fighting so his son wouldn’t see him go down without a fight, and EVEN THAT, all of this fire and misery and heartbreak and dramatic buff men fisting action, even all of that,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ALL ACCORDING TO PLAN. Because apparently the final master stroke of JP’s plan the whole time, to kick off the tournament and draw the eyes and bets of the world upon it from which he would launder and gain money, was engineering a narrative which people would turn up to see.
Getting both pieces in position, the young upstart battling to stop the fallen hero-turned-villain, and so that’s where all of his talk of narratives and fictions culminates: All of that is a part of the scheme through which he plunders and deceives and vampirizes his way through the world. He’s left Nayshall chained to his dark designs, needing to collect revenues and stay in the spotlight under his plan to stay secure. Much like a vampire, leaving the entire country alive only so long as he still has more to feed on it.
There was no master plan, there was no grander goal, no doomsday plot or grander ambition, this was a regular Thursday for him (Tuesdays are for some other guy). This is JP’s day job/hobby that we discover he’s been doing all over the world for years if not decades now. Moving through developing countries and nations under different names, getting attached to figureheads and developing legitimate infrastructure projects, stoking the flames of conflict and leaving countless lives ruined within months, and starting all over again.
KALIMA: I.T Nation? Cryptocurrency? Everything you did was for yourself! You insulted the sacred ceremonies and traditions of Nayshall! You didn’t save this country - YOU DESTROYED IT! JP: History, tradition, culture, and sacred ceremonies...are all for sale as content! ...Zat is, until ze world gets tired of zem.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm very curious to see what is that Shadaloo tease at the end even if I'm kinda tense regarding their connection to JP. I feel like JP's done more than a fine enough job being set up as the solo villain that he doesn't need Shadaloo, he doesn't really deserve to be dragged down the path Seth was (and I do like Seth, or at least, I love SFV Seth making the best out of the fairly lame IV Seth), but then again, something's gotta account for that Psycho Power and those mystery funds and whatnot (also isn't Shadaloo run by Ed nowadays? I wonder if this is teasing that), so, let's wait and see. I remain thoroughly impressed with how great this whole thing was, they really nailed the landing here.

TOXICITY was a Future Sneak Peak of the SF6 Story
This three-part story was published on the official Capcom site back in February 16, 2018, which was exactly 2 years after SFV was released. During that same time, development of Street Fighter 6 began, starting with a 92-page proposal. Most projects tend to change their plans. But for SF6, the entire plan was mostly intact, so not much has changed from the proposal.
Going back to TOXICITY, most people saw this story as an introduction to A.K.I., a new character for Street Fighter 6. That is in itself true, and it is neat that we knew of her back many years ago. I know for sure I was curious about her ever since I started my F.A.N.G craze back in summer 2019. But Toxicity provided more than just teasing a future SF6 character. Toxicity is a 2018 glimpse of the setting and story that would unfold in SF6. Most of it was teased on the first chapter.
Toxicity sets the vibe of streets and gangs, particularly of organized crime in which F.A.N.G is a part of for almost the entirety of his life. The game itself has a strong streets theme and has a number of gangs in World Tour mode that includes Mad Gear, Canary Crates, Crows, and some others.
It is said in Toxicity that F.A.N.G goes by many names, which holds true in SF6. Not only does he go by Fang Fei when you meet him in Metro City, but he also goes by Foo when he sends texts messages to you when you’re doing the Neo Shadaloo mission from the Akuma update. If you didn’t notice it while playing this side quest, yes, Foo is F.A.N.G. His profile pic gave it away with the hat, the double O’s for the glasses, the F for his head and frame, and the purple smoke background. Also, he has a fixation on getting M. Bison info and not caring about Neo Shadaloo (the AKI mission showed that he’s not in good terms with JP). Furthermore, the speech pattern sounds very FANG-like lol.
Tumblr media
Speaking of M. Bison, if anyone is shocked, surprised, or upset that he’s coming back, I gotta tell you that this too was mentioned in the Toxicity story. That was in 2018. It’s said that F.A.N.G wanted to revive Shadaloo, and that still holds true when playing A.K.I.’s arcade mode. Not only does FANG wanted to revive the organization, but he believes that Bison isn’t truly dead. At first I thought of Bison’s spirit, because that’s what we saw in SFV through Ed’s story mode. That’s not the case. Bison was resurrected. He is now alive, roaming around the world on a horse that he revived (I see a theme here). F.A.N.G is right. Bison isn’t dead after all.

Also, look at this illustration here. See what F.A.N.G is wearing around his neck? That emblem used to be on M. Bison’s hat. And where is his hat? At the Neo Shadaloo ruined lab stage. Toxicity throwback right here.

After finishing the Neo Shadaloo side quest, if you go to the Suval'hal Arena in Nayshall at night, you’ll see a former Doll Trainee. Unlike the other hopeful Dolls that you find at the same location during the day, this one is jaded and chose to work for F.A.N.G when he found her. This begs the question, how many subordinates does F.A.N.G really have? Not only does he have A.K.I. and this Doll, but he also has contacts with moles within Neo Shadaloo. He also collaborates with Experimental Subject Lee, who was a victim of Neo Shadaloo. Go figure, this Lee guy was freed from a bad guy and then end up working with another lol. If people are amazed that FANG can round up people for his evil cause, don’t be. In Toxicity, F.A.N.G was already an influential figure in the criminal underworld long before he joined Shadaloo. He used fear and power to command respect. Now that Shadaloo is “no more,” FANG went back to that life of gangs and crime, but uses civility instead of intimidation. With FANG selling medicine on the streets and how the Doll described how she joined him, it seems to go in line with what was said in Toxicity with his more “kinder” approach.

I must also mention that there’s another group, but it’s not clear if they’re associated with F.A.N.G or not. Their organization is called “The Poison Appreciator's Assassination Research Society.” They’re around Haggar Stadium at night in Metro City. They use code names like Pufferfish, Scorpion, Platypus, Urchin, and 20 other poisonous animals. They also look like FANG with their black outfits, hats, and shades. Even though they have a poison theme going on, their fighting style isn’t poisonous at all. They all use a generic fighting style and throw ranches at you. Oddly enough, they never mentioned about FANG nor some kind of poison leader. And FANG didn’t mention about them either. A.K.I. is aware about this group, but from the sounds of it, only by word of mouth. So she’s not close to them. It could be possible that this organization of assassins formed independently without knowing FANG.

That’s all the Toxicity stuff I can think of that end up going into SF6 itself. It’s a F.A.N.G-centric story, but the A.K.I. dlc summarized parts of it from her point of view. She mentioned how she met F.A.N.G and that she got her name from him. But she didn’t mention about his special dagger (I still wonder if that’s gonna show up later in SF6?). She also said that she can’t be “emotionally” attached to him because of the nature of their profession, even though she secretly loves him. Someday they might kill each other if such a time comes. In Toxicity, it is said that FANG was ordered to kill his “brothers” that he used to care so deeply about. And that in itself “robbed him of his emotions.” I doubt AKI would kill FANG in SF6 because that would throw off the AKI dlc stuff in WT and the whole point of her character in SF6 is being a FANG loyalist. The ultimate face off would probably happen in a later game. But not in SF6. Good, I don’t want FANG to go just yet…hopefully I’m not speaking too soon on this!
Regarding about A.K.I.’s “brother” in Toxicity, FANG assumed the two of them were siblings from his point of view. From AKI’s memory in SF6, she tagged along with other impoverished kids on the streets as they steal, mug, and pickpocket to survive. The “brother” she was with is actually just another kid. They’re not related. I had to lay this out because I noticed people were still asking about the “brother.”
In the end, I think it’s neat that we had a little taste of SF6 years ago through a F.A.N.G-centric story. Who knows, maybe more things will arise in later dlc. I still want to see F.A.N.G’s dagger in SF6. Even Rashid unintentionally made a metaphor of it!

SF6 OC - FAYLYN RANA
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is Faylyn! She's my oc who I based off my JP headcanons. Faylyn is 25 years old as of 2008 :D
Her style of fighting is a mix between bellydancing and taekwondo.
As for her backstory, it's a bit different than my JP headcanons. Her mother, who was obsessed with JP to the point she would destroy herself for him if he asked, ends up raising her alone in the lowlands of Nayshall because she knew JP didn't want children. During her time living with her mother, Faylyn was sheltered and told to stay inside at all times. At the age of 8, Faylyn is forced to run away from home because the Secret Society seized her mother. Why was her mother taken from her? It's because her mother was a very successful spirit medium. She could contact spirits and control them.
Faylyn ends up in Metro City at the age of 8. She was adopted by a very wealthy explorer names Heidi Vilian. Heidi raised Faylyn on the North side of the Metro. Faylyn grew up to be very ladylike and compassionate. She even opened up to Heidi about a power her biological mother claimed she inherited from her father.
Faylyn was also taught the way of the spirit medium from her bio mother. In addition to Faylyn knowing how to contact spirits and control them, she can also bring forth a spirit and have them fight for her. Charlie Nash is a spirit she frequently calls upon in a battle she can't win. After all, you can't kill something that is already dead.
Eventually, she enrolls under Luke and starts her journey.
How does she meet JP? When trying to tamper with the Champ Belt in Nayshall, Johan uttered the name of her mother, and Faylyn began questioning him. He gave her vague answers but opened up in the final battle after he bombed the tournament.
In my world, Bosch is alive and not well😭 Faylyn ends up quickly taking his spirit from his body before the bomb detonated and put it back after repairing his internal organs with her psycho power. Don't ask me how does that work logically. It's the world of street fighter. Anything is possible if you put your mind to it.
Below is a drawing I made of JP and Faylyn. It contains spoilers😋
