Just saw Wonka with @secondbutthole and I loved it…! A lot more than I expected! Minor/vague spoilers here but not particularly plot-relevant

The trailers didn’t give enough of the musical element, I loved the songs so much and I may have slightly teared up at “Noodle-Doodle” cuz that was our dog Nelly’s nickname :’) Scrub Scrub was especially fun, and I got so excited at the new Pure Imagination…!!!

Mat was brilliant, Simon and Charlotte’s cameos were too, I had no idea Rich Fulcher would be in it but I shrieked at every Booshy joke, the underwater talking, him pretending to work at a zoo, it was subtle enough but fun if you’re in the know~

The Noodle/Willy sibling vibes are incredible and I’m adopting them both they’re mine now

My aro/ace and autistic Wonka headcanons continue to go unchallenged thank god *^*

I liked the Oompa Loompa well enough, but my favourite version is still from the West End musical

I think this is the first time I’ve actually seen Timothee Chalamet in anything and I actually really liked him! He nailed Wonka’s unhinged creativity and I didn’t know he could sing!

Hi there! Happy STS! What is the food like in your WIP's world? What's the culture around sharing meals and cooking, or what is a recipe that one of your OCs loves to make and share with people? Or, even if your OC sucks at cooking, what's their go-to?

Hi! I’m going to be honest, this isn’t something I’ve developed in too much detail, but I’ll give you what I’ve got :)

The vast majority of people on the Seven Stations eat nutrient cubes and nutrient paste because they’re cheap (think dull beige cracker-like cubes about a centimeter in each direction and an equally beige paste with the consistency of peanut butter). They don’t taste very good but they’re nutritionally balanced so that no one who eats a steady diet of them is malnourished.

Richer people have access to simple food (mostly what we would consider “cheap food” nowadays like ramen noodles and similar easy-to-prepare things). They usually supplement these with nutrient cubes for additional nutrition. People can also order relatively cheap restaurant food as a treat - there are a lot of small eateries, especially on Third Station.

It’s mostly nobles and their servants who have access to the fancy food (although clones are typically not permitted to partake). All meat on the Seven Stations is lab-grown because they have no animals, so it’s fairly efficient to make. I haven’t narrowed down in detail what a lot of the food they eat is (I know they eat snails and that cucumbers are common enough for Stellaris’s aversion to them to be relevant). They do have a very formal culture around eating, though - food etiquette is very detailed and people will be judgmental if you screw it up. Every dish has appropriate cutlery and the proper way to handle said cutlery and failing to do so will be considered quite rude.

Belladonna doesn’t cook and doesn’t know how to - her servants have cooked for her her entire life. She also doesn’t eat most foods due to her anorexia, so she subsists mostly off of salads and multivitamins. Cassie is also a garbage cook who could burn water, but she absolutely loves food. She’ll eat almost anything put in front of her but loves spicy food especially.

Nellie loves to cook - she’s a maidservant so she cooks for Belladonna but she also considers it a hobby. She likes making a variety of things, so she doesn’t have a particular favourite dish. She’s gotten Rhys into it with her - he used to just consider it a job but started liking it a lot more once he was allowed to actually eat the food.

I re-read my childhood favorite book series that rivals DCLA for the chaoticness #3

Ricky Rapper and Nelli Noodlehead

Things that happened in this books:

Risto notices a girl taking out the trash.

He says that it looks like she has noodles

Rauha says that he could get friends off her. Risto doesn't think so

Rauha sees Mr. Limberg carrying a shopping bag and starts feeling sad about him being lonely. She also has a specific idea of what he has bought

Rauha decides to write an odd love letter to him. She goes on to describe his forehead, nose, and lips

Rauha gets embarrassed and chucks the letter into a basket

Rauha also bakes a blueberry pie and tells Risto to take it to the new neighbors

Risto feels stupid about taking pie top the "girl downstairs" so he just leaves the basket he took it in behind the door

The girl, Nelli finds the basket and reads the letter, and thinks that Risto wrote it

She writes a response letter where she calls him hot lips

Risto and Rauha realize that Nelli has read Rauha's letter and thinks that Risto wrote it

Rauha refuses to set the record straight since he doesn't want to embarrass herself

Risto thinks he can't show his face outside anymore so Rauha says the he should dress up

Risto dresses up in a leather jacket and boots and says that his name is Hector Oja

He gets trapped under a carpet and Nelli releases him and he runs away back under the carpet

Risto writes Nelli another letter where he says they he isn't the Hector who wrote the letter, or the hector who was under the carpet

Nelli forgets her kyes home and goes to Rappers as a result. Her parents are famous TV chefs who Rauha is a big fan of

Risto is in the bath and forgot his towel so he dresses in Rauha's frilly bathrobe

He gets spooked by Nelli and runs to the closet to hide

Rauha brings him clothes

Before Nellie leaves she invites Risto over to see Alpo her cat

Risto thinks she is talking about a baby

Alpo is nowhere to be found and Risto and Nelli start looking for him

Rauha panics because she thinks the baby has disappeared

Alpo runs away again the next days due to getting scared by a mouse on TV

Risto and Rauha help Nelli look for him, but Rauha gets distracted by Nelli's parents TV-program and stays to cook at her house

Nelli's parents come back to find Rauha, who they have never met, cooking in their home

Rauha thinks she is in a hidden camera show

Chaos ensues until Risto and Nelli explain the situation

Everyone leaves to look for Alpo

Nelli gest scared by a cardboard skeleton

Rauha and Mr. Limbeg get stuck in a tree

Nelli's parents get stuck on some swings

They eventually find Alpo and end up eating a banana pancake

Rauha gets offered her own TV-show about sausages

So this book is really the one where the series really got its footing from by introducing Nelli, who ends up being Risto's best friend for the rest of the series. Moreover this book just in general hits the mark him much better than the two previous books. This book still suffers from definitely aging, but not as strong as the previous ones and Risto's original distaste for Nelling for being a girl can be counted as him being a child. This books also break the stereotype with boy/girl friendships. The chaos in this book also is bit more grounded and stems from genuinely funny misunderstandings and not just stupidity

You're right! I do have a snake lady! Her name is Nellie Day and she's livin' her best life in the 1900s! And her snake's name is Noodle thank yew very mutsh.

She's a psychopath and a do gooder and they say she's a witch ;)

In my world magic is largely considered witchcraft and a sin. Nellie though cares not about such silly nonsense. Magic is a part of the world. An important part. It's quite limited actually. It can only control. It can not make, it can not take away and floating is impossible weather you like it or not.

date with Pat who is really cute and soft and silly and we’re watching youtube on the pillows, coffee (double espresso with water and oat milk) and a caramel swirl at the cafe, Pat goes to Ellis Brigham with me. telling Pat I wanna take it slow because I dont talk about myself enough and I don’t want another relationship with someone who doesn’t know me that well. Actually thinking about it now maybe I just want to fuck a bunch of other people so I need to have time spare. It’s all linked I suppose.

calling Bella, who was in Malmo for 2 weeks and in Copenhagen for the following 2 weeks and it has been extended because Yancey is doing visa stuff.  Feeling shitty because their husband Nelli is doing really bad with depression right now and needs immediate help. Back this sunday and I can go over if the care schedule aligns. They have been watching cartoons every day.

So, things went very differently than expected and honestly better than it could have been

Our oldest dog, Nelly, has been on her way out for a couple of months now, and we were finally going to take her to be put to sleep tonight. My mum went to get my brother so he could come see her and with us all cuddling her before taking her to the vet, she passed away in her sleep. She waited long enough for him to get here and say goodbye, and that is so much better than if we had to make her walk or carry her to the van with her in pain

And there’s even a rainbow outside for her
