Hey spectrum sister! I saw you have a new ask game on your board. So I thought I'd drop in with some treats and ask you the questions
1, 10, 20 and 21 :)
Tumblr media
Hi My Dear!!
Welcome welcome!! and bringing nice raspberries too, omg so lucky! I eat so many of them during summertime, they are just so good! :D
Allow me to answer your questions :D
1)Who was your first ever OC? Do you still “use” them? How have they evolved over time? Answered here! :) 10) OC you most struggled to make? I already answered for one OC that I struggled to make, but I have more than one, so I can answer here as well: Eos, my brainchild for Genshin Impact. I am finding myself in a bit of a slump with her because the way I first designed her, while perfectly aligned with how I envisioned her at the time, was too generic and also not considerate of how she would play a specular role to her sister Mirana. Therefore, I had to go back to my mind whiteboard and work harder to find a way to incorporate all the details that would both make her unique in her own way BUT also very much connected to her sister. I am still trying to find the perfect vibe for her, but I feel like I am getting closer! :) 20) What story are you the proudest of? Why? I answered with the first one here! But, my second story I am most proud of, is most definitely my FFXII “Tale of Two Empires”. It’s so filled with political intrigue, I remember plotting everything out for MONTHS in order to have a plot that would sort of make sense. I spent hours at the library in my hometown, just reading and reading biographies about queens and empresses and kings and emperors, to gather as much knowledge as possible and then, eventually, develop my own political system that would expand on the one presented in FFXII. And I loved loved LOVED writing Nabyrie’s story, and show her path from cheerful young lady to anti-villain, because life kept breaking her down over and over again, but she held to a thread of light and memories that was also the same blade that caused her to bleed into villainy. I think, much like for my “The Larks Song”, I am immensely proud of this story because I was finding myself expanding from simple fluffy sceneries to darker waters and in truth, was starting to finally analyze how events and trauma can transform a person accordingly.
21) When did you start considering yourself a writer/artist? I have to be honest: I still don’t. When I talk with people and address myself as a Visual Artist, it’s mostly so that I can make others understand where I dwell creatively wise. But I do not truly feel like I have any right of calling myself an artist, but I also know that this is caused by me holding Art in extremely high regard. And do not let me start on writing. I am no writer by any means, just a person that likes to embroider her stories on canvases and hang them somewhere, to keep them as memories of all that I was able to achieve, even if it was just for myself. :) Also, please, allow me to make a clarification: this meter of judgment is one that I use only on myself, and never - NEVER - in regards to other artists and writers.
Once again, thank you for your questions <3

🤔 🦖🥳🪩🎉?
🤔 Are there any new characters you want to write about? I'm currently writing a Big Bang for a completely new fandom fic-wise (Warhammer), so that's something new. After that I need to jump into writing a short story for a competition (also Warhammer). Whatever I'll do after that, something different might do me good. Maybe when Hades II comes out to Alpha I'll get into that game (no promises tho).
🦖 Are there any fandoms you wrote for in the past that you'd like to return to? Haha I have like a two dozen half-finished fics I look at regularly and sigh wistfully, including a couple of long fics (Yugioh, Hobbit and Ace Attorney at least) I'd love to finish some day. Some of them have even been plotted to the end! If I only had the time. :P
🥳 How are you going to celebrate when you achieve one of your writing goals? I really have not thought about it, but I definitely need to do something nice for myself when the Big Bang is done (it has ballooned from 10k to 40k, woops). Maybe I'll get myself a piece of cheesecake.
🪩 Do you have any "good" writing habits you want to cultivate? I would like to get more thoughtful in using my allotted 2 x 15 minutes coffee breaks at work for writing. Maybe start having them always at the same time, get that cup of tea, get a few hundred words in. Get a little break from having to think about work and not feel bad if I don't have the energy to write after work.
🎉 How are you going to be kind to yourself if you don't meet your goals? I mean, getting something as big as a Big Bang done at the start of the year does help with being kind to oneself ("Look I already did this!"). Every year it does get easier to be understanding of oneself, I don't write as much as when I was studying, but I'm not studying anymore, and tho there's a lot of actual free time and I dont have to do homework, there's still lot to do work-wise and taking care of my home-wise. Best not to compare yourself too much to past years and be happy with things you do at the point you do them.

NEMOOOOOOOOO hi :))
💀 OC in goth/emo/scene attire, for whichever one of your ocs who would
*drops this here and resurrects from the slumber*
Tumblr media
HI ELLZ, MY DEAR, WHAT A PLEASURE TO SEE YOU HERE!!
Tumblr media
Ngl, this ask.
this ask gave me SO MUCH UNLIFE (pun absolutely intended.) I was already in a goth mood for "reasons", so when I saw this in my ask I was like:
omgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomg.
YES.
JUST YES.
At first I had thought to go with Jacob and Dottie, ngl, because since I wanted to go with the whole Romantic And Victorian Goth aesthetic, they would have fitted to a T.
But then I realized that they would have been put in garments too close to what they usually wear already (plus, I already had some sketches in the making for them to be vamps, so I didn't want to repeat myself again).
So I thought.
Gods.
COLETTE AND ARNO.
MY ADORED UNITY BABIES as Vampy- Vamps, rocking that XIX Century Romantic vibes (ngl they are my romantic couple. Like, if Jacob and Dottie are romantic, Arno and Colette are hundredfold that).
BECAUSE YES.
So, there you have the results of my sleep-deprived brain. I got a tad carried away with the shading, but it soothed me while working on it, so I guess I was doing some therapy lol. Also, fml, Jacob is not the only one that can rock a freaking top hat. Arno "Walk Walk Fashion Baby" Victor Dorian CAN and WILL rock a freaking top hat, or Nemo's not my name forevermore.
ANYWAY.
Thank you again for your ask, I truly had so much fun working on it!

Hello, dearest Nemo!💜🫂 For the Writer (& Artist) Ask Game, please answer questions number 3 and 13! Thank you! 😊
Dear Susie, Welcome Welcome in my humble abode <3
Thank you so much for stopping by my inbox, and forgive me for the delay of my answer. I was quite tired due to an intense week at work, but I am finally here, ready to answer your questions!
So, without further ado, allow me :)
3) Biggest self-insert OC? I actually don’t have one, not in the “literal self-insert” sense anyway. I would say that the closest among my OC that is to be a self-insert, Colette is THE one. While it’s true that Dorothea, my most beloved brainchild, shares the most with me in terms of past and story, I would say that Colette is the closest one to actually behave and acts like me (to the point that yes, I also gave her a name that comes from my own lol). So yes, Colette is the one to resemble me the most.
13)Which story has the most lore? The stories that I have written, with the most lore, are three, actually: my AC Syndicate Story, "In The Heat Of The Moment" (even though I am yet to finish writing it); my FFXII “A Tale of Two Empires”, that took me a few years to develop and expand, and “The Larks' Song- Book 2 : The Nightingale and The Rose", which started as a fan fiction and ended up becoming an original story where I basically had my Verona end up in a world where the Verona of that reality has gone mad and died and before her arrival and she would find herself facing the Vampire Lord that was her husband, Kaecilius. Let’s say that’s one hell of a tangled story, that one lol.
thank you so much for your questions!

Bookish asks: 📕, 📗, 📙, 📖, 📕, 📘, 🔖?
📕What book has had the biggest impact on your life, and why? Hmm, that is a difficult question. I might have to go with R. A. Salvatore's Sojourn. I haven't read it in like 15 years, but it was the first book I remember absolutely adoring. I read it like... six times before I went to high school, and it definitely was the one that inspired me to start writing. (I should re-read it, though I can't imagine it holding up)
📗Are you a one-book-at-a-time reader, or do you read multiple books simultaneously?  I usually read between 2 and 4 books. I usually have one book I read at work during lunch that may or may not be the same book I read at home (for example if my home book is a physical book, I read ebooks at work), and usually another book that is more denser non-fiction that I read every now and then. And sometimes just another book that I have picked up for some reason.
📙What’s your favorite genre to read, and do you have any recommendations within that genre?  Already answered!
📖What is your favorite book-to-movie adaptation, and why?  I love love love Who Framed Roger Rabbit? It was one of my favorite movies as a child. The book was very different, and of course there's the nostalgia factor.
📕Who is your all-time favorite author, and what makes their writing so special to you?  Terry Pratchett. I think growing up with his books has definitely had a huge impact on my sense of humor, my curiosity about the world and my morality. His books have been a constant companion and comfort through my life.
📘Are there any book series that you’ve been meaning to start but haven’t gotten around to yet? Which ones are they?  There's this podcast I listen to at work "What Should I Read Next?" where the host recommends books to guests based on what they like. There has been couple of sci-fi series that sound interesting, but I haven't gotten around to checking how easy they would be to get here, like, I would like to get them through the library and in English (if original language). Also I can't remember all of them, cos I am very bad at writing them down. :D One of them was Martha Wells' Murderbot diaries.
🔖Which classic book or author do you think everyone should read at least once in their lifetime, and why? Famously (among my friends at least) my favorite classic author is Dostoyevsky. I adore the Brothers Karamazov, but I'm not sure I want to force anyone to read all 1k pages of it. But I definitely recommend everyone should pick something from the 19th century Russian literature.

I've never actually read 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea but that art you posted has torn into my heart and just lives there now, I adore it and can't stop looking at it
Aww thank you very much! 💛 By the way, I highly recommend it!! 19th century books in general are often written in this light manner that makes them an easy read, and there’s place both for puns and for social justice, and the light tone doesn’t get in the way of drama when it matters : D

In regards to your question about how to say "Hey Good Looking" in Italian.
I would probably go with a "EHI BONAZZO" especially in regards to Ezio.
It is always VERY TRUE in regards to Ezio.
Tho, even a "Hey Manzo" wouldn't be to bad.😂😂😂
Oh, wow! I wasn't expecting an answer! 😂 But I'm happy for one!
I will definitely take note of both of those phrases for the future (the 'manzo' one, omg I'm DYING) for that handsome man! (And in general, if the occasion arises that I might ever need it, if you get my meaning. Ahem, ahem.)
Grazie, @nemo-of-house-hamartia! ❤️
