#neteyam never died in this house

Text
excerpt from a neteyam fix it fic i was writing that i’ll probably never finish:
Someone was stroking his hair. Neteyam found himself leaning into the touch, knowing exactly who it was. The way she methodically carded her fingers through his braids, careful not to tug on them too hard. The tiny bit of nail that itched his scalp just right. Neteyam would know his mothers skillful hands anywhere.
As he turned into the touch, he became acutely aware of the steady thump of a heartbeat that was not his own in his ear. He realized then he must’ve been propped up against his mothers chest, as she would do when he was a child and had nightmares.
He turned further into her, breathing in the comforting scent of his mother. He tried to move his hands only to find that they were full. One was held up, squished against something soft, no doubt Tuk’s cheek. The other was held low, sandwiched between two more hands. Kiri no doubt.
He made a noise of contentment as he opened his eyes. Above him, his mother, father and siblings were gathered, each touching him in some way or another.
“Mom?” Neteyam’s voice was raspy and weak, he needed water. His mothers eyes burst open, she moved to grip his cheeks. She stared at him, her eyes searching his.
“My son!” she exclaimed, wrapping her arms around him and wailing. He wrapped his around her, doing his best not to fall victim to the tears he so desperately wanted to shed. Behind him, Tuk squeaked and threw herself on him as well. He couldn’t see who all else hugged him, but he figure it was all of them.
After a while, and a cough from Neteyam, they released him one by one. His mother whispered many thanks to Eywa, for returning him to her. Neteyam looked around, his father wore a soft smile and placed a hand on his shoulder. Lo’ak stared at him, his eyes wide in disbelief. Neteyam opened his arms, inviting his younger brother in, a more personal hug than the first.
Lo’ak was in Neteyam’s arms in a second, burying his face in his shoulder, repeating apologies over and over again. Neteyam finally let the tears fall, he’d missed them so much. He hadn’t realized how much guilt he harbored over leaving them.
But he was back, and he planned on staying.
“Lo’ak,” he began. “It’s okay, it’s not your fault. I’m not mad, I was never mad. I would do it again and again and again if it meant you were safe,” he said, low enough that only Lo’ak could hear him.
Lo’ak’s cries turned to sniffles, but he refused to let go.
“I’m so sorry, I’m sorry I should’ve never gone back. We should’ve left Spider and saved ourselves when we had the chance,” Lo’ak said in between sobs. Neteyam was taken aback, leave Spider? Who is this kid and what has he done with Lo’ak?
“What do you mean?” Neteyam asked. He pushed Lo’ak lightly, urging him to sit up and talk to him. Lo’ak didn’t budge.
“Spider is a dirty traitor!” Tuk declared.
Neteyam looked to his father, who dropped his head.
“Spider saved Quaritch after the fight… so the fighting continues. We’ve honestly reached a stalemate but he won’t let up,” his father said, looking anywhere but him.
Neteyam felt many emotions bubble in his gut, but most of all was anger. How dare Spider hurt his siblings in such a way! He’d sacrificed himself, and it was all for nothing because he saved Quaritch?! He’d pay for this.
Neteyam felt his jaw clench and his hands ball into fists.
“Don’t worry son,” his father said, resting a hand on his own. “You don’t have to fight.”
“I will,” Neteyam declared without any hesitation.
Lo’ak’s grip on him tightened. “NO! Don’t Neteyam, please we already lost you once,” he begged.
“I’ll be okay lil bro,” Neteyam assured. “I’ve got the power of Eywa on my side.”
“Eywa has forsaken us,” Kiri stated, her ears drooping.
“You know just as well as I do that that statement is a lie, Kiri. She’s doing everything she can,” Neteyam argued.
“She’s hiding! I felt her when I pulled you out, she’s afraid of the Sky People.”
“We all are,” Neteyam said, his voice barely above a whisper. “They have better weapons than us, better armor… it’s a miracle we’ve even survived this long.”
“Neteyam!” His mother scolded.
He went silent and the family sat together, comfortable in the sounds of nature around them. Lo’ak eventually climbed out of Neteyam’s arms, sitting off to the side, hugging his legs to his chest. Tuk replaced Lo’ak, hugging Neteyam around the middle and began updating him on the things that had happened since his death.
Neteyam found out it’d been three years since he died, meaning he should’ve been 18 now. Lo’ak and the Metkayina chiefs daughter, Tsireya had officially started dating. Tuk was now 11 and had began the rite of Iknimaya. Neteyam couldn’t be more proud.
After what felt like an eternity of sitting and listening to Tuk ramble on about what had happened she finally climbed off of him and grabbed his hand, trying to pull him up.
Neteyam stood with the help of his father. He tested his legs, they held his weight just fine. He looked to his father, realizing he was now looking him in the eyes.
“You’re taller,” his dad noted.
“No fair! Eywa gave you an age correct body!” Lo’ak whined. Neteyam figured Lo’ak was hoping to be taller so he could tease him.
“It seems she did.” Neteyam looked at himself in the reflection of a nearby stream. His shoulders were broader, arms toned and legs more muscular. His face looked more mature and his eyes were wiser. He smiled, even his fangs were more pronounced.

May I please request a Yandere! Platonic Sully Family x Daughter! Reader fic? Where she’s Lo’ak’s younger twin and she’s very much like her dad’s twin Tommy. Maybe she’s the brains and would often be the mature one between her and Lo’ak? And they’re just protective over their baby girl. Was thinking of the fic showing what her life was like, like with all the scenes from the movie that were all family-focused up until they join the Metkayina and they learn their ways, maybe she gets some attention from boys of the Metkayina clan. Maybe she’s the one that gets shot and ALMOST dies and the family is just enraged and go on a killing spree with the RDA? And when she recovers she’ll be doted on?
I love the idea. In my whole life as a fanfic writer (I have another account we’re I’ve been writing since I was 12) I have never written platonic relationships so I don’t know how it is going to go. But I’ll try my best! I hope you like it.
It was going to be too much if I did everything that was asked there, so I just did the daily life of her with her family and what would happen if, once in the Metkayina clan, boys would flirt with her.
My family (Yandere! Platonic Sullys x younger daughter! Reader)
Pairings: ALL OF THEM PLATONIC. Yandere! Jake Sully x daughter! Reader, yandere! Neytiri x daughter! Reader, yandere! Neteyam x baby sis! Reader, yandere! Lo’ak x younger twin! Reader, yandere! Kiri x younger sister! Reader and Tuk x older sister! reader
Content warning: not proofread yet, English isn’t my first language

[ 3rd person POV ]
The Sully family was well structured. Everyone had a role. Tuk was the only one that could do what she wanted. Apart from her, everyone’s role was to protect Y/n and be there for her. From Jake to Kiri, even her twin brother Lo’ak.
No one had made up that rule or spoken about it. They all got the idea the moment she opened her eyes for the first time.
She was a blessing from Eywa and her family loved her very much. So much that they had the feeling that they had to protect her until their very last breath.
She hadn’t noticed yet, but she had triggered the “yandere” gene in her family. In a platonic way, all they wanted was for her to love them as equally and to be protected.
Jake needed his goodnight cuddles with his baby or he felt sad and he begged Neytiri to tug Y/n into bed every night. Neytiri loved to teach her how to hunt and to protect herself. She felt proud of her baby, even though she would never let her go on her own.
Neteyam loved to have his little sister around. Cuddles were his favorite. But just having her in his line of vision was enough to keep him calm and collected. He also adored the way Y/n had him as her hero.
Lo’ak sometimes bickered with her, they were twins after all. But he knew how much he needed her, she had the brain and he had the muscle. He loved seeing her laugh when he said something funny.
Kiri enjoyed time alone with her sister as well. Kiri was far more introverted than the rest and she liked a good book an telling her sister curious things about Pandora.
Tuk was just happy that everyone loved Y/n and her. She was the real baby of the house.
Y/n, completely oblivious to all of this she was happy to have such a loving family. She loved each one equally and she enjoyed time with each of them. She didn’t see the arguments the siblings sometimes had over who would spend time with you that day. Usually if things got too serious Neytiri would intervene while Jake pulled you aside so you wouldn’t have to witness it.
Even if they loved each other, all of them longed to be the protector of Y/n. If something ever happened to her they would go completely crazy.
Changing homes wasn’t something easy for anyone, but they pulled their feelings away to take care of Y/n’s. Even though she assured them she was doing fine.
She flew in Jake’s ikran. She had one but the family thought it would be safer. A few hours before taking off they fought over who would hold you. Neytiri was going to go with Tuk so she acted as a mediator. Jake won being the dad.
Once in the Metkayina clan, all of the other Na’vi could see the circle that the family instinctively made around Y/n. Ao’nung and his friends had their eyes on her right away, they made Neteyam and Lo’ak give them death glares.
A few days into the clan, everyone was adapting just fine, on their own rhythm. Neteyam was sly and made Lo’ak go with Tsireya. He did find the young Metkayina cute, but he shouldn’t look anywhere but Y/n. What if she hurt herself? What if Ao’nung tried to harass her for having demon blood?
WHAT IF HE TRIED TO WOO HER?
Lo’ak’s blood boiled at the thought. No one was good enough for his sister.
“Teyam!” Y/n smiled from her ilu, she waved at her brother with a sweet smile and that beautiful nickname he loved. “Look!” She splashed around.
“Very good, Y/n!” He beamed at her. Rotxo stopped helping Neteyam for a moment. “If you want to get an ilu we should get further from them” he said. Neteyam shook his head. He needed to be close, otherwise something could happen to her.
And he would rather die before letting her alone with Ao’nung. “C’mon demon child, try to go into the sea with your ilu” he said with a mischievous smile. He was flirting with her, no doubt.
Neteyam’s expression darkened and soon Lo’ak joined him. “Are you trying to flirt with our baby sister?” Lo’ak said, getting awfully close to Ao’nung. “So what if I am?” The Metkayina taunted.
“This happens” Lo’ak said before punching him. Y/n’s eyes widened. “Lo’ak! Stop!” She said, she felt scared, she had never seen her brothers be violent with anyone.
“Come with me, Y/n” Neteyam ordered. The sweet tone king forgotten. Y/n did as told when he pulled her wrist. “Teyam! Why is he doing that?” She said getting further from the fight. They reached were Kiri was. “Take her to the hut” he informed. Kiri nodded. “Let’s go, you don’t wanna see that, do you?” She asked, raising a brow.
“No, of course not!” Y/n replied. When they got to the hut it was empty. The fight had gotten out of hand, Neteyam and Lo’ak were in bad condition, but Ao’nung and his other friends were worse.
Jake came into the hut first, looking awfully angry. “Now you two are going to explain to me WHY THE HECK YOO WERE FIGHTING RIGHT AFTER WE INSTALLED OURSELVES!” He roared to his two sons.
“Ao’nung was hitting on Y/n” Lo’ak informed. When he named her all of them looked at her. “Then good job son!” He said, his mood swinging completely.
“But dad! Fights aren’t good” Y/n tried to reason. Jake’s arms trapped her in a bear hug. “They were protecting you, baby. We all do. If they fight to keep you safe it is perfectly fine” he kissed the top of her head with love.

Exile (Jake Sully x Reader)
After you have finally escaped the brutality of Quaritch, your feet wandered carelessly to eywa-knows where. With no clan to return to, you will never guess where you end up in– the root of it all.
Give me a minute to hold my girl. (I) The joke's on me (II) The inches in between us. (III)
Know it's for the better. (Sully family x daughter!Reader)
You've been thrusted to carry the burden of being the eldest after his passing.
I ! Feels like we had matching wounds, but mine's still black and bruised (and yours is perfectly fine now.) II ! Once there was a way to get back homeward, (you're gonna carry that weight for a long time.) III ! I watch the fathers with their little girls and wonder what I did to deserve this, (how could you hurt a little kid?) IV ! Mom, am I young? Can I dream a few months more? V ! I know it's for the better. Know it's for the better.
Every corner of this house is haunted. (Sully Family x daughter!reader)
Jake had taken you as his own after Tsu'tey's passing, leaving no one to care for you. Things had been good before your relationship with him had blurred along growing of age. You and him fought all the time; argued each other's ear off and tonight was no different-- except words have been said, severing the already damaged bond.

A passage from Tuk-Tuk's diary (Things that have happened since you left us.)
Just drabbles of how little tuk-tuk copes after Neteyam's passing.

You and Neteyam just recently started dating a few weeks ago. The first time you saw him it made a feeling that was foreign to you course through your veins. When you meet him and got to know him he made you feel an emotion you've never felt before, Happiness.
Every time he came by your pod to whisk you away to somewhere special in the forest you felt nothing but pure bliss.
But when you weren't around you him you felt melancholic, lonely, depressed, and every other negative feeling under the sun. The environment you lived in was toxic and it was ripping a piece of you away every day.
You were trying to ignore the pain and heartache but it wasn't working. you were trying to find healthy ways to cope like weaving or hunting but it wasn't working. The only thing that would help is cutting, making small slits into your navy blue skin that would release crimson-colored liquid. Watching the blood drip down your arm is the only thing that would help you feel better and would make the pain stop.
You lived at home with your father and he was an alcoholic. When you were born your mother died while giving birth to you and that was the last day your father showed any positive emotion. He abhorred you for taking the love of his life away and he made sure you knew it every single day.
You were sitting in your part of the pod trying to avoid your father's alcoholic rage but you couldn't because he decided to come find you and spew his hatred all over you.
He came and pulled the curtain back which revealed you sitting on your woven mat. As he was towering over your small frame you could smell the alcohol seeping from his pores, "What are doing in here?!"
"N-nothing father I'm just making a necklace for someone", A couple of days ago you and Neteyam were sitting by a pond and he told you how he needed a new necklace because he lost his other one so you decided to make him one.
"Who is it for?! Is it for that boy you've been running around with?!" He yelled which startled you. You hated when he yelled because it always made you cry. Instead of responding you just sat there silently looking down at the floor which told your father he was correct about his assumption.
He let out a dark chuckle before continuing to yell at you, "He is only using you for your body, do you think someone could really like you?! That someone would want to actually mate with you one day?! You have to be the dumbest na'vi around to think that. Look at you, you're pitiful. Always crying and sulking around this house. You're always cutting your arm like some deranged freak! What boy would ever want someone like that?!" He yelled with venom coming out of his mouth with each word that escaped his lips
All you could do is break down into a crying fit. You felt like your father was right, why would someone want to be with someone who felt like their only escape was harming themselves? You felt like whatever you had going on inside of you could rub off on Neteyam and you didn't want to corrupt him with this sickness.
Your father saw drops of water flowing down your face and it only made him angrier, "WHAT ARE YOU CRYING FOR? HUH? THERE IS NO REASON FOR YOU TO BE SHEDDING ANY TEARS! IF ANYTHING I SHOULD BE THE ONE CRYING, YOU TOOK MY MATE FROM ME! EVER SINCE YOU CAME INTO MY LIFE IT HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT HELL!" He shouted at you furiously
He crouched down to your level and harshly grabbed your bicep, yanking you up so you could stand on your feet. He then extended your arm, looking at all the scars that ran down your skin. He began to speak but this time he wasn't yelling, he was calm but you could still hear the maliciousness in his tone.
"I wish you were the one that died that day, not your mother. Next time you decided to cut yourself make sure you finished the job and go live among Eywa. I can't stand to have you living in my house and making me live in despair." He let go of your arm and threw it to your side. He lifted his alcoholic beverage to his lips and began imbibing enormous amounts of it before walking outside the pod.
As you stood there with sobs emerging from your throat you decided that you were tired. You were tired of your father's emotional and sometimes physical abuse, you looked down at your arm and could see a purple outline on your arm from his tight grip.
You were tired of feeling like this, you need the pain and heartache to stop. You needed this feeling of sorrow to go away. You looked around your pod and grabbed your knife and put it in its sheath and grabbed your shawl and wrapped it around your arms and began walking to Neteyam's Family pod.
You wanted to talk to him and tell him how you felt about him before you went to see the Great Mother.
As you walked you heard a group of girls talking about you as you walked by, "Look at her, She looks awful" one of the girls said while laughing
"Yeah I'm surprised she even came out of her pod, she's been locked up in there for almost a week" one of the other girls chimed in
They continued saying all these nasty things about you and it made you feel even worse than before. Neteyam was in the tree above, looking down at the event that was unfolding. He watched you run away to a deeper part of the forest. He immediately climbed down the tree and began to follow you to see if you were okay.
He hasn't seen you in almost a week and he's been worried about you. He came by your pod to try and talk to you but every time he came your father sent him away.
As you were running you didn't know where you going until you found yourself in front of a small pond. You sat down and looked at your reflection in the water, as you looked at yourself you couldn't even recognize the person you saw anymore. It was like you changed into a totally different person. You looked at yourself and felt disgusted, you felt like you looked repulsive. As you looked at your puffy eyes and the dark circles around them you felt so much pain and agony.
You pulled your knife out of its sheath and pressed it again your skin. You knew by doing this it would make you feel so much better, you would finally be at peace. You could finally see your mother and live among your ancestors.
As you were about to penetrate your skin and create a gash so deep that it would bleed out until you took your last breath, you heard someone call out your name.
"Y/N!" Neteyam called out. You turned and saw so many emotions on his face, he looked at you horrified by what he saw you doing to your body.
As you looked at him all you could is cry even harder, "Neteyam please leave"
You didn't want him to see you in this state, you didn't want him to see you so broken.
"Y/N what's wrong? What's going on?" Neteyam asked you as he sat down next to you. As he looked at your arm he saw multiple old scars on your arm and a bruise on your bicep, as you followed his gaze all you could do was apologize to him even though you didn't know why you were doing it.
"I-I’m sorry Neteyam I just can't handle the pain anymore, I'm tired of feeling so miserable. I'm always crying and I'm so weak. Nobody likes me not even my own father, the person who's supposed to love me the most. I feel like I'm going crazy, I feel like I'm a freak" you told him  as you let out sobs in between every few words
"I don't want to live Neteyam. I want to be with Eywa where I can feel peace, I need to feel peace."
As you rambled without properly thinking clearly, Neteyam was horrified by your words. "Baby, why would you say that?" Neteyam asked you as his voice broke a little. He hated hearing you speak about yourself so harshly and it broke his heart to hear that you wanted to end your life
"Because it's true! Every single thing I said was true"
"Y/N you are not a freak, you are beautiful and I love you with every fiber in my body. Whatever is going on with your father I will help you figure it out. I will be there for you and help you through these feelings until they have faded away. I will be here for you always, but you can't leave me. I want you to stay here with me so we can grow old together, Okay?" he talked to you with so much conviction in his voice some tears slowly streamed down his face
"Okay, Neteyam" is all you could muster up and say. You wrapped your arms around his body and clung to him. He embraced you and kissed you on the cheek " These feelings won't last forever, we'll get through this together" As you laid your head on his shoulder for the first time you felt like someone cared about you. As you laid in his embrace you felt a feeling you'd been longing for, something you wanted for a long time.
Love & Peace

Kidnapped || Neteyam X Reader
•Warnings• Mentioning of blood, kidnapping, guns, gun wound, torture, mention of death, SPOILERS!
Summary: In this story you are Neteyams mate and you get taken instead of spider.
Tumblr media
“Where is she? Where is YN?” Neteyam questioned his siblings along with Spider. “I don’t know one minute she was right behind us the next it was like she was never there,” Lo’ak responded keeping his head down to avoid eye contact with his older brother. “So… you mean to tell me that you lost my mate and now she is probably half way to the skywalkers base? •He looked at his younger brother who just nodded back• HOW COULD YOU BE SO STUPID YOU SKXAWNG!” Neteyam screamed “If she dies it is your fault Lo’ak” Neteyam said poking Lo’ak in the chest with one of his fingers. “Neteyam calm down its not Lo’aks fault it’s mine I zoned out and one of the skywalkers tried to grab me but YN pushed me out of the way and they got her.” Spider confessed looking at the ground ashamed.
“YOU IDIOT!” Neteyam cried lunging at Spider but Jake caught him holding him back as Spider moved out of the way. “Neteyam calm down, YN is going to be ok she’s strong and can take care of her self. We will find her I promise,” Jake said while still trying to stop his son from ripping Spider apart.
•Back at the caves• “I need to find her, I need to save her” Neteyam spoke trying not to start crying as he stared his farther in the eyes. “I know Neteyam but my responsibility is to our family and we have to leave to keep everyone else safe” Jake replied “WHAT ABOUT YN? YN IS MY FAMILY. I WONT JUST LEAVE WHEN SHE HAS BEEN TAKEN BY SKYWALKERS!” Neteyam retorted back Jake just stared back stunned at his son’s response. “Neteyam… you are not going to be any help to her when you have been taken too, she would want you to come with us.”
•After the family has arrived on the island and they decided to let them stay• Neteyam has been quiet ever since arriving on the island barley sleeping or eating most days he just sits in the sand looking out at the ocean ‘wondering what is happening to you what they have done to you if you’ve escaped and wondering why he left and didn’t come to save you.’
•With you and the skywalkers• You couldn’t even guess how long you had been there but if you had to you would definitely say more than a day. You had been tortured to try and get information from you when you over heard their plan to go to the islands and take you along to translate what the Navi would say.
as they escorted you off the boat and onto the sand they showed a picture to the Navi but when they didn’t get the answer they wanted they burned the houses. You tried to stop them but one of the soldiers shot you in the back causing you to fall and go unconscious. Blood leaked form your back coloring the sand around you deep red.
•With Jake, Neteyam and Tonowari• “The skywalkers have come to the Islands in search of you Jake they have a Navi with them a girl who they shot and left on the Island” Tonowari said looking at the two in front of him “They are not going to say anything to the skywalkers on my orders” he continued before walking away. “YN… They shot and left her, YN is here I have to go to her.” Neteyam said about to walk off to his ilu but Jake grabbed his arm holding him back. “Not so fast if they did just leave her it’s probably a trap.” Jake warned “I don’t care she is my mate and I love her I will not abandon her when she is injured” Neteyam spoke back annoyed that his father was probably right about it being a trap. “I will talk to Tonowari and see if someone else can bring her but until then do not go after her that is an order do you understand” Jake stated.
“Yes sir” Neteyam replied.
It had been almost two days since you had been shot and you woke up in a small hit looking around before you tried to sit up feeling a strong pain run up your back. “Hello?” You said your throat dry.
“YN?” You heard seeing a head poke from around the corner it took a moment to adjust to the lighting but you knew by the voice it was your mate Neteyam.
Neteyam came running towards sitting down next to you holding you tight not even thinking of letting you go. “I’m so sorry that I didn’t came save you and that I left you there.” Neteyam spoke voice breaking. “Shhh it’s not your fault… and I’m ok now I’m with you.” You replied.
Neteyam looked at you again before placing a soft kiss onto your temple and holding your head to his chest wiping away tears. For the rest of the day and days after he did not leave your side, scared that they might take you away from him.

“Hi Jake, Spider might or might not fallen of a tree”
goJake was bored and annoyed, more than three had passed since the battle, and a lot happened during it. First of all, recom Quartich and his whole squad turned to Eywa’s side, which is good right? WRONG, well yes good, no one but the sky people died in that battle, and much information was given. But that motherfucker turned only because of Spider, and his minions followed because of ‘semper fidelis’. Now those things were in the Omatikaya forest learning the ways like he had done years before. Cringe.
Plus, that bastard of a copy wanted Spider right next to him during the whole process, he wanted Jake’s son during the whole process!
Now, maybe saying son is a little hasty, in the end, him and Neytiri never officially adopt him, or never toke care of him. But still they accept him now
you should have accepted him immediately, he was just a child, why why why wh-
a call.
“Yes?” Jake responded at the mobile that was used for him and the others who were in the forest for communication.
usually before the battle, he would contact Max and Norm weekly, then once he called them for Kiri and another for Spider.
now, he and the rest of the family would daily call Spider to check on him, which annoyed the blonde since he would spend all the weekends with them.
still, every time Jake heard his voice, his heart would go in tilt, he could feel the joy, relife, love, longing and other emotions.
this time, it wasn't his son’s voice, but his other father.
“Hello Jake, i didn't really want to call you, but your so called friends insisted that i do” Quaritch began “i think you can't really call someone like them friends you know? i wouldn’t like if someone called me telling what im telling you right no-”
“Can you please just tell me what happened without telling me the story of your life?”
“Alright, Spider might have fallen of a tree...of twenty meters from the ground...and he might have craked his mask and broken some bones...and it might have got us almost thirty minutes to come back to the base...remove the might” Quaritch said
Jake’s heart skipped a bit, the pod became silent, he forgot about everyone in it, it took a few seconds before the house fallen into chaos.
Neytiri practically jumped to him, taking the device off Jake’s hands, and starting telling off at Quaritch for saying something like that with such nostalange.
“at least is he alright?” she asked and after a few seconds he responded with a yes, which made Tuk calm down since she have started to cry.
“alright we are coming right now” Jake announced and ended the call.
“yeah, let's go!” Lo’ak said trying to get out but Neytiri stopped him
“we are going means me and your mother, you stay here, not discussing that. Neteyam you are in charge” Jake said without letting Neytiri speak, like it was necessary.
he speaked for her, she speaked for him, he acted for her, she acted for him.
the flight which was usually of nine hours became one of five. The two Ikrans were exhausted.
Neytiri praticlttly jumped off hers, running towards the infirmary, secretly hoping it was in the same place she remembered it to be.
Spider was asleep when they entered the room, next to him Quarithc who looked half asleep but was waken up when the other two entered the room.
“you, me outside” Jake order the other avatar who silently obeyed him.
leaving Neytiri behind with Spider, they got to the outside, and Jake took his knife out pointing him at Quaritch.
“i swear if something happened to him”
Quaritch let out a hiss but didn't respond
“we are taking him for all month, no need to say again“ Jake said, spitting at quaritch feet before returning to his mate and their child, finding Spider who was crying and Neytiri humming his favorite song.
Without saying anything he got next to them an hummed with Neytiri the next verses.
BONUS
Jake and Quaritch got out lefting Neytiri and Spider alone, the door closing made Spider wake up, and looked around finding Neytiri next to him.
she gave him a motherly smile, one he never had, just it made him want to tear up all the water that was in him.
“you came?” he said, it was more than a question, like Neytiri wasn't infront of him. But she was, and she was ready to give him a lot of kisses.
“You are my son after all”

WARNINGS: the ones in the request!!
NOTES: reqs open! like n reblog r appreciated
It has been a few months since the Sully’s arrived to Metkayina clan, and you started to teach them how you live, also, you became Neteyam’s best friend, all the Omaticaya kids love you, but his father… he doesn’t, he hates you, Tuktirey said it’s because you remind him to his wife, Neytiri, who died fighting against Sky People.
It was a normal evening, you were teaching the Sully’s how to talk underwater, they’ve been struggling with the sign languaje since the first day they arrived “It’s so hard y/n, I give up” Neteyam says “Neteyam you must be patient, look at me, I even have a Tulkun brother, who is the best bro now, huh?” “Lo’ak, shut up, you aren’t special” Kiri lecture him, he rolled his eyes “Yaay! I’m doing good right y/n?” Tuk asked.
“Of course you’re doing good Tuk, not only good, excellent” You said “It’s enough for today, go home and rest” They agreed with you and went to their house, and you went to yours, but you met Jake in the middle of the road, he looked furious, it seemed like if he was going to kill you.
“I see you, Jake” You tried to be the most pacific you can be “Why are you learning my kids that languaje, they aren’t Metkayina, they are Omaticaya, u know what, I never liked you, you pretend to be the best na’vi in the word and you are not, I don’t want you near my kids again” You instantly started crying and tried to hit jake, but he grabbed your arm and stopped the blow
"Do you really think you can hit me? I am Toruk Makto, you should fear me” His eyes changed, he looked at you with desire, “I’ll give you a lesson, take off your clothes” He wants you, you reminded him to his wife and it was something he couldn’t take off his mind, he tried so hard to hate you, but he couldn’t, so do you, he was just ‘Teyams father’ but you had been having some kind of attraction to him, so you’re not missing the opportunity.
You take your loincloth off “You didn’t doubt a sec, what a needy you are, not good for my kids, but good f’me” He put his fingers in your mouth and then go to your crotch and started to stimulate you, you gasp “I need you to be silent kitten, nobody can catch us” that was the last thing you needed to go feral, you taked his loincloth off and started to touch his intimacy, he growled and then take your neck with his hand “I never told you to do that, don’t desobey me” he took the hand of your clit and started to touch your tits, and by the same time, he was biting your neck “now everyone would know it, u mine, opne y’legs for me kitten”
You didn’t want to obey him, so you take his masculinity again and started to massage it and slowly go with your mouth to him, licking and kissing all of his parts, “i told you not to desobey me, but now, you are going to suck it deeper” He took your hair and pushed you more close to him, pushing you inside and outside, “Enough, now open your legs, I have something f’you” You lose the battle and opened your legs to him, the pleasure of feeling him going inside you was insane, he started faster and let you touch yourself, you moaned so loud that he had to cover your mouth with his hand “What part of ‘no one can catch us’ you didn’t understand? kitten your giving me a headache, if it weren't for you looking so cute looking like the needy you are, I would have humiliated you by now”
“Jake, I’m— comi-ng again” He already made you came once, the overstimulation between he touching you and introducing him on you plus you touching yourself, was the most exciting combo you’ve ever experienced “Hold on a little, let’s come togheter” He went even faster, you never thought he could do it, but you couldn’t controle yourself and came, so did he “Don’t get close to my kids again, this is gonna be your punishment”
Oh god, for sure your going even closer to them.
- The end

I want to start a series. But, I don't know the first chapters on how to do it. Sooo..... I guess I will make it a drabble first. I hope you enjoy.
After the battle against humans, you went to Earth with your triplets. You met Quaritch's side of the family. His remaining relatives. His parents were sadly dead. So, your kids had no grandparents. But, they had aunts, uncles and cousins. Since your parents and first family died. You cut ties with your toxic second hand relatives. You moved to Europe.
The Colonel had relatives from his ethnic countries. Like Germany and Ukraine mostly. You never went to Europe since you were poor. But with the salary you got from Pandora, you were able to afford a cute stone cottage.
Quaritch's family welcomed you and your babies with open arms. The Colonel would video chat with his relatives.
He told them about you. He should then your lovely photos. They wanted to see you. They approved you. The Colonel sounded he was in love and was happy.
You lied and said that the Colonel died from the Pandora poisonous air
To avoid hate towards the Navis
They bought the lie
You would video chat with Norm and Neytiri. Then sometimes Max and Jake.
You went to Trudy's and Grace's family to pay your respects for their funeral. Their bodies were sent to earth.
But sadly, life was not a perfect ending. You had to raise triplets. They were a little different thanks to your abnormal genes. They were more stronger and athletic than other babies. Mutants like you. They also had dominant traits from their dead father.
Worst of all was that, a lot of men tried to be your next husband. You were horny and lonely. You admit. But the men you didn't trust. You did some background checks and found disturbing stuff. Then some men would do drugs and are rude. They wanted to fuck you due to your lovely face.
And you didn't reveal being a mom. So, they would admit they hate kids.
You didn't want to ruin your kids life. So, you quit dating. An abusive step dad was your worst nightmare.
So, you would masturbate and watch porn. It was not enough.
Later, you got two stalkers that threatened you to give in to them. You had to move to a farm in France. To your surprise, the dead Colonel was part french. He had estates there. He made a will before he died. He gave all property to you.
You got his money, houses, cars, and family jewelry.
You loved his photos the best. He was handsome as an elderly man. But, he was better when young. Not too young. Begging thirties was his prime.
When your kids finished pre school. You then would travel to Pandora for summer vacation. The latest tech made Pandora travel easy as an airplane.
Neytiri and Jake would meet you and see your triplets. You met their first kids. Neteyam and Loak. So far, they wanted their future kids to be girls.
Then norm would call. He told you that a clan in Tanui needed a Medic for the ill. So, you would take your kids there. As you worked a little. Then return to Neytiri for the remaining vacation time and then go back to earth.
Life was beautiful so far.
Then, it got the evil eye.
When your kids became twelve. It happened.
You stayed a week at the Sullies. Then was about to go to work for the Tanui. But, your first born, Miles told you he wanted to stay. You would come back anyway in two weeks and meet him back at the Sullies.
You agreed. Your son always was the closest to the Sullies. He was the most athletic. He would do kickboxing and track on earth. He was called spider by the kids.
Your second son Val loved soccer and acting. His second hobby was water polo. Which was why he loved the beaches of Tanui.
And your little Isabella Maria was the artist. She was like you. She loved fiction and arts. And ballet. She hated opera. You loved it. But she had your other traits.
So, you kissed Miles on the head and left for Tanui on the chopper of one of your old friends from the old base.
Tumblr media
You would text your son. And video chat with him multiple times a day.
But one day changed everything.
Spider and his friends the Sully kids minus neteyam were goofing around in the jungle.
And saw Navis wearing marine uniforms. When your triplets wee ten, you told them the truth of their dad. How he died and how he was evil. Now, spider was curious why the Navis were searching around the corpse of his dead father.
Meanwhile, after waking as a Navi, the Colonel remembered your pregnancy and birth. He remembered you first. The Colonel having sex with you and all that. Then his babies came next.
He was there holding your hand when you pushed all three out. Him naming the triplets after himself and then his dead parents.
But, he remembered your tears. How he punished you. The Colonel felt guilt. He treated a weak and delicate lady like that. He didn't want to. But, you broke his heart and trust multiple times. You always attempted to escape. You finally escaped once but a few weeks later was discovered and brought back to him.
Now, general Ardmore offered a deal. She would track you down and give you and the kids to the colonel. And give the you allowance money every month and insurance till you pass away.
The Colonel without hesitation agreed. The general started the search. She gave the Colonel pictures of you. Many men would take pictures of you on their cellphone and post them online. Since you were beautiful, they took your photo when shopping, walking outside and etc.
The Colonel was mad when he found out about the men who tried to date and marry you. And then those two stalkers. So far, you were not in France. But where?
The Colonel sighed as he picked up his old skeleton and crushed it.
His luck changed when his ear piece announced they caught Navi children and a human.
The colonel was confused when he saw the human kid. Was he smokin a blunt and seeing shit? The kid looked like him when he was a kid on earth.
The kid was wearing human clothes. But his dirty blonde hair and dark blue eyes had blue and brown with silver linings in them. His blue eyes, his dad brown eyes and mom's grey eyes....
Then the colonel's eyes widened in realization.
It can't be.
It's too good to be true.
Right?
To be continued

neteyam te sully tseyk’itan x fem!reader
warning; age up neteyam (22), events on the stories happened after the war on metkayina, grammatical and spelling errors
author’s notes; Hello! This is my second series, I was supposed to write a lo’ak x metkayina series but decided to push it behind and make this first. This’ll have a spoilers for the lo’ak series but not that much.
Feebacks + reblogs with tags are appreciated!🤍
Prologue
With the advances of the sky people they are now also able to produce a avatar that looks like from the people of metkayina. It was a project that they were planning from the start upon discovering a new type of specie in Pandora. Several people have participated and have given their DNA, you were one of it. Not like you know, it was your parents plan. RDA offered big amount of money and your parents badly needed it. Force by it you have no other choice but abide to them. Now you’re off to a planet that you have always known only through the news and articles. What awaits for you in there?
Chapter 1 | The Pandora
The school bell rang hinting that it’s time for you teacher that have been blubbering their mouth even though no one is listening. Immediately packing your things, you made your way out and there you saw your friends waiting for you.
“Finally! Let’s go grab some pizza!”
You’re friend Nate said ushering you and the others to hurry up, you rolled your eyes and smack him on the head.
“We are supposed to meet those government people, remember?”
You said making the boy in front of you frown.
“Still it is a surprise you agreed so willingly..”
Fara the other female on your friend group said and you shake your head letting out a sigh as you start walking ahead of them.
“What am I supposed to do? Both of them are so hardheaded.”
Nate and Fara just pat your shoulder as the three of you got inside your car. Those men in black told your group to meet them at their company. The reason of Nate on why his also in this, it’s because his family badly need the money and for Fara she doesn’t really need the money.
She’s going because she doesn’t want to lose you. You guys have been friends for so long plus she doesn’t have any family left.
When you got there, the three of you are amaze to see how big and tall the building is. Going inside you notice that there’s not that many people, you went to the front desk and told the woman in charge that Parker Selfridge wants to meet you, Nate and Fara
“This way please”
The woman guided you and when all of you got on the elevator, it was dead silence that one tiny movement will be heard. You look at Nate and his just scrolling on his phone while Fara is scribbling something on her notebook. You shuffled on your pocket and found the bracelet that is broken which you always carry, it belong to Mira. Your friend. Who was killed when her house was raid all because her father smuggled some drugs. She loved Pandora, always telling you how she always wish to be born there.
She loved that planet more than her life in here, some call her freak for that but she didn’t pay any attention. She wish to witness in her own eyes the scenery in there. Sadly she died in the most painful way, you remembered how you blame her father, he never loved Mira. How many times have your friend called just because her father is beating her up?
You can’t count it.
“We’re here”
Brought back from your thoughts you saw a man sitting inside the office, the entire floor is his office.
“Oh finally! Come, let’s get you three see your avatars.”
The three of you exchange looks
“No dilly dally!”
You guys ran up to him and followed him inside a room and it was full of holograms, you recognize this. It’s Pandora. Parker walk through a hologram and press something and you’re on full view of species you saw on the news. Instead of blue it’s more of sky blue. Two females and one male.
“That is your avatar. They are different from the ones we have made, with our technologies and intelligent scientist we have manage to make a avatar in the form of Metkayina. Take note, we used to make avatars with five fingers, similar to what our hands look like. But that, it has four fingers. Making it look like full na’vi.”
Parker exclaimed you heard Nate and basing on his voice his excited. Fara on the other hand is feeling more nervous.
“Na’vi?” Fara ask
“That’s the civilization living on the Pandora. This man..” Parker press a button and someone appeared
“I know this man..”
You uttered and remembering it correctly he once appeared on a article you were reading and it said he was once a human but now he turned to a full na’vi.
“Jake Sully. I know you guys are familiar with his name, the traitor of the human race.”
You really didn’t like how he said that but you kept it to yourself, you listen to what he says and have learned that tomorrow you guys will begin your journey to Pandora. It will take 6 years to arrive and you will be kept in a cryosleep, it will not make you age. So technically, you are leaving the earth 22 years old and will still be 22 when you arrive but you’re technically 28.
“Once you get there, you will be kept on the base for months not too far from the Awa’atlu where Jake Sully is said to be living now. You will need to be used to your avatar body by the time you’ll be send to spy on the clan.”
Parker said then he turn around and face the three of you, you felt Fara’s fingers gripping on your shirt sensing how nervous she is, you held her hand to help her calm.
“Now, I hope the three of you are more smart than Jake. Don’t ever betray the mankind.”
+ timeskip 6 years, where they are already entering the Pandora +
Like being woken up from a deep slumber you let out a groan when you felt yourself getting pulled away from something or more like where you are laying is being pulled. Blinking twice before your sight gets clearer your jaw drop at how many people are there on this ship, you saw Nate and Fara just getting out of the capsule you were just in and the two of them also had the same reaction.
“People who agreed to take part of avatar simulation, please come here!”
A normal reaction for a person who have gone to space should be full of excitement but you can’t seem to get yourself to be excited.
“Fara! Nate!”
You called their attention and they immediately move their body towards where you are and the three of you look at each other before laughing. If you remember correctly, the three of you spent your last days on Earth eating and drinking everything you can consume, knowing full well that you won’t be able to taste it anymore.
“Last call for the people who agreed to take part on the project!”
“Come!”
Nate exclaimed and all of you immediately went to the woman you also notice it’s mostly people around your age. A door opened and you saw that you guys can walk and not just float around. You nodded to Fara and the two of you entered the room. After everyone else got inside, the door shut down and you are now in a room of six.
“I take it that everyone of you knows what you signed up for. This is not a kid’s game or so whatever. All of you needs to take this seriously.”
You nodded and so did everyone making the woman before you to continue
“The six of you will be sign to be spread out on different clans of metkayina-“
“Wait what?!” One person exclaimed and the woman glared at them
“Obviously you didn’t read the manual that was sent ahead of time before you traveled here.”
Biting your lower lip, you glance at Fara who appears to be more nervous than ever but you saw how Nate wrap his arm around her shoulders making you sigh in relief. He knows enough how to calm Fara.
“As I was saying, you will be spread out throughout different clans and when you get there. You only have to say you were from ‘Ta’unui’ it is one of the clans we have took over.
She proceed to show a video on a screen where the soldiers destroyed their home, your eyes darted at the date below and it already has happened many years ago. Then the next clip showed how the humans built their own camp and guessing by it, you and the others will be staying for months.
“Now, change your clothes and ready for the insertion to Pandora.”
Looking out from the window, you can see the planet Pandora. It look very much like the Earth except it is not dying. You felt sick knowing you’ll be a part of the cause of it’s destruction. If only you are strong enough to talk back to your parents.
*flashback to the day you were informed*
“Mom, who’s this men?”
Sitting down at your living room, there are 6 men and all of them are carrying a brief case. Your eyes almost got out of your eye socket when you saw the money. Your parents squealed in happiness.
“You should inform your daughter. Along with the money, here’s a manual on what she would need to learn. She must learn the na’vi language before going to Pandora.”
Your head snapped to where the voice came from and you turn again to face your parents and the two of them look at you. No, they are glaring at you. After sending the men out, your mother throw the manual at you.
“Learn that. Be useful for once in your life.”
You scan the pages and you felt your self crumbling, you heard about the RDA Company searching for people who wants to volunteer to take part of their project. Another test drive for their newly invent avatars.
“Did you two decide this? Why..”
You heard your father scoff before taking a sip of his coffee
“What? You’re our child. We get to decide what’s good for you.”
“Good for me? Really? Because to me it is more like good for the both of you! How can you do this?! Do you even care for what I feel?!”
Your mother went up to you and slap you across your face
“What are you bitching around? Didn’t you always wanted to be there? Together with your freak friend? Oh wait, you’re the only one who can witness it now!”
Your blood boil at what your mother said and glared hard at her before storming off. You have always known that something’s wrong when you saw pamphlet of RDA laying on your house. But to think they will go this far.. you hit the steering wheel of your car before driving off. Maybe this is a good sign too.. because finally you are away from them.
*flashback end*
“Welcome to Beach Camp!”
Ironic.
You thought as the ship you were in landed. Grabbing your mask, you put it on and walk towards the exit as it opens, a strong gust of wind engulf you that it almost made you fall down. Shielding yourself from the intense light, you slowly adjust your eyesight and your mouth agape seeing the tall building.
Looking to your side, you saw the avatars the same one you saw back on the office. You heard the leader telling everyone to follow so you did. Getting inside the building, more like it is a camp. The six of you are already assigned to your rooms and you can’t never been more happy that you are with Fara.
“After settling your things down, go to Hilarch Building. There you’ll try out your avatar.”
The woman closes the door and you immediately throw yourself at the bed and let out a sigh. You fet the side of you sank, looking up you saw Fara hugging her self.
“I’m scared Y/N… this is a whole new world to me. To us.”
You got up and hug her close to you
“Hey, me and Nate is here okay? The three of us will stick together. I’ll try convincing them to let us three be together.”
You said trying to assure her, you cup her cheeks and she relaxes to your touch. Nodding her head she excuse her self so she can start unpacking her things, you did the same and when the two of you are done. You got out from your room and walk towards the Hilarch Building, when you entered you removed your mask since it is safe now to breathe the air in here.
You saw the other people that were with you, you held Fara’s hands as you both walk inside. There are six link pods and you squeeze her hand.
You felt somebody tap your shoulder, looking behind you saw Nate smiling at the two of you.
“Goodluck to us.”
“Yeah, goodluck to us.”
You said before laying down on the link pod. The door closes and you did your best not to panick. Remembering the words the people have told you, you close your eyes and forces yourself to sleep.
“Transfer complete. She’s waking up.“
“Pulse is good, heart beat is stable. She just opened her eyes!”
Groaning out, you bring your hand towards your face but your eyes widen seeing it only has four fingers. Getting up you saw the people below you. Wait, below?
You got up and shove one on the side as you stare at the mirror before you. Long black hair, blue eyes, teal green or aquamarine colored skin.
“Is this me?”
You uttered and you touch everything you can. Starting from your face down to your waist. Your eyes darted at the tail swaying behind you, making you giggle as you try turn to take a good look at it.
“Okay okay, I know you’re excited and can’t wait but let’s check everything first, alright?”
Finally listening to your surroundings, you sat back down and the scientists have began to their work. After some minutes of checking they finally let you go, a woman guide you to a locker room. Big enough to you size and your jaw drop seeing two people you definitely know who.
“Fara? Nate?”
The two of them stop talking to one another and turn to look at you, it took them two seconds to recognize you and took big steps towards you.
“Y/N!”
“Fara! Nate!”
The three of you hug and begann squealing, it ended up with a laughter then you decided to change from your white hospital dress to a white tank top and black shorts.
“Crazy how they made clothes that fits to our avatars size!”
Fara said heing mesmerized as she chose a gray loose shirt and long pants while Nate chooses a black tank top pairing it with khaki shorts. After changing, the three of you got out and saw the others already playing.
“Gather around guys!”
Lucia, the head of the very very first people to accept this project. If you count you are up to 14 avatars, including those who have been here long before you. Also, today marks the start of your training
“Your forms are very similar to metkayina. You might be wondering why they look different to the forest na’vi, the ones you have known throughout your life”
She began talking as she walk around infront of you
“The metkayina people live by the sea, their bodies have adapt to the water in order to survive. Now, all of you also have to get used to their daily life.”
She stop in front of you then averted her gaze to the others, she pointed at her side and you followed it. You saw something in the water, swimming.
“Those are called ilu’s. Metkayina people rides them in order to travel faster under water. We’ll show you how to ride them in the next few days, for now we’ll teach you how to take longer breaths.”
You are more excited to ride the ilu but you know better than to break the rules. Lucia began to group you up and luckily you are with Nate and Fara
“The three of you follow me”
Lucia got your attention as you follow her towards the big rock in the middle of the water. The wall circling the camp is quite big that it occupies a certain amount of the sea.
She dive right into the water and when she resurfaced again, she signaled you to follow her.
“Well? Let’s enjoy ourselves! Woohhooo!!”
Nate shouted before running and diving into the water and he let out a cheer once his back up, you held Fara’s hands and the both of you ran.
You felt the water engulfing your body and when you opened your eyes, you couldn’t help but be mesmerized at the scenery before you. At your peripheral vision, Fara pointed at something and you saw Lucia urging you to follow her
When you got to the rock, she’s already sat down waiting for all of you. You sat down not too far from her then followed by Nate and Fara.
“How old are you ahmm miss Lucia?”
You smack Nate and he look at you with a shock expression
“What?!”
“That’s not a question you ask a woman!”
He scoff and crosses his arms, Lucia can only let out a soft chuckle
“I’m 30 years old, I was 19 when they took me here.”
“Took?”
Fara couldn’t help but ask because the word ‘took’ sounds weird to her. Lucia just smiled at the three of you then divert the topic, teaching you how to breath. She said this is how the metkayina manage to be under water for how long as they want.
You guys only stop when it’s time to eat and immediately goes back to learning. When it was night time, a specific room was assign only for the avatars where they are kept safe.
You opened your eyes once more and you are back to your human body, you stretch out your arms and body as you got out from the link pod.
“Go back to your rooms. Your activity today will resume tomorrow.”
The woman said and handed you your mask, nodding as a response you grab it and waited for Fara and Nate, once they are out from the pod the three of you put on your mask and walk back towards your room. Nate bid his goodbye since his room is on the other side.
“I like Lucia”
Fara blurted out once she’s comfortable to her bed, you look at her and a smile appeared on your lips. Remember how she gave off the feeling of being a older sister.
+++++
Want to be tag for the next one? Just comment down! Don’t forget to like!
“Me too..”
You said before drifting off to sleep, excited for tomorrow’s events.

lo’ak angst brought to you by tek it by cafuné😎 enjoy
he did a barrel roll, hanging on for dear life as his ikran flipped over and over and over again. lo’ak whooped and hollered— he loved the ilu don’t get him wrong, but there was something so freeing about flying, it was incomparable.
lo’ak flew through cloud after cloud, feeling the mist on his hair, dampening his braids. a laugh bubbled out of his chest, a noise he hadn’t heard from himself in awhile.
he ducked under clouds, pretending they were an obstacle course. a game his mother taught him when he first got his ikran. he felt like a kid again, chasing after his mother and father as they led the game, yelling at neteyam to hurry up so he didn’t get lost. they’d fly around for hours on end. racing, weaving in and out of the floating mountains, dodging clouds. anything they could think of, it was turned into a game, or a competition.
lo’ak turned his head to the side, eyes squinted as he laughed.
“teyam!” he yelled. “hurry up!”
lo’ak was met by the sound of wind zipping past his ears and the gentle clanking of his hair beads. slowly, lo’ak opened his eyes, looking around.
the sky was empty save for him.
lo’ak sat back hard on his ikran, his hands holding the reigns loosely, lazily.
memories flashed behind lo’ak’s eyelids when he blinked. like a bad dream he could never wake up from, lo’ak was thrown back into reality.
neteyam was dead.
he didn’t know how he got back to the cliff that housed his family’s ikrans, but he did. lo’ak stumbled off his ikran, eyes unfocused and mind completely empty yet so full at the same time. he made it a few steps before staggering into a tree, bracing himself against it as his vision became blurry, the all too familiar burn in his throat coming back. lo’ak looked to the sky, trying to keep the tears at bay. they fell anyway.
lo’ak choked out a sob as he finally fell to the ground, hugging his arms around his midsection he rolled onto his side. he felt a gentle nudge on his back and lo’ak turned to see his ikran staring at him, eyes wide with worry. slowly, lo’ak sat up and reached out his hand, guiding the beasts about to his forehead. his ikran nestled next to him, content to be lo’ak’s shoulder to cry on. and lo’ak did just that. he cried into the brightly colored skin of his ikran, sobbing and hyperventilating as he finally succumbed to his sadness.
“i forgot,” lo’ak whispered sometime after the tears stopped coming and the sobs turned into whimpers.
his ikran made a noise— a hum, almost as if it was asking him what he forgot.
“i forgot that he died. i— i forgot all of it… the war… the reef— everything was fine for a few hours until i remembered.”
lo’ak’s ikran nudged him again, rubbing its snout against his face in an attempt to comfort him. lo’ak breathed in deeply, noticing that the sun was setting. he wiped his tears and tried to steady himself, preparing to face his family— who were all grieving in their own ways.
lo’ak didn’t want to face them— the stares, the silent accusations.
this is your fault. their looks screamed. lo’ak knew they were right, but it still hurt.
hesitantly, lo’ak stood, wiping the dirt off his body. he patted his ikran on the snout, whispering a promise to be back soon and started back down the mountain, hoping to make it back to the sully family mauri before nightfall.
maybe, just maybe, tonight he wouldn’t cry himself to sleep.

Teasers for All of My WIPs <3
Tumblr media
— just wanted to share this all with you since i got some writers block & slowly working through all of my wips. hope you guys enjoy tho! <3
— a kiss, perhaps | spider socorro
genre: fluff
The teen also often offered his company to you whenever you were in the lab doing whatever scientists did. He liked spending time with you, even if you were too caught up in doing sciencey stuff that he had absolutely no clue about.
“What do you mean?” You asked, eyebrows furrowed together in confusion.
A shit eating grin stretched itself onto Spider’s lips. Good, he thought, she doesn’t know what I’m talking about.
“You said that you’ve seen every inch of the forest,” he replied, twirling a pipette in between his calloused fingers, “but, I’m sure you haven’t seen my hideout.”.
Curiosity sparkled in your eyes, back straightening in attention.
“What does it look like?” You asked, genuinely excited about the secret place Spider had kept from you for whoever knows how long.
Spider had you right where he wanted you. Like a prey in his web. There was no way that he was going to give you any details of what it looked like. Where’s the fun in that? He wanted to see the pure, genuine look of amazement on your face when you finally saw the place he was talking about.
“Nuh uh,” Spider tsked, poking your check with the pipette, “I am not falling for that. You’ll just have to wait and see tomorrow,” he finished, face inching closer to yours.
— a lesson in pinky promises | jake sully (requested)
genre: angst to fluff & comfort
You absolutely loved your Father and looked up to him so much. But it was hard looking like him when his past kind had caused so much pain and suffering to your Mothers people. It was a constant reminder that you had to work twice as hard as your younger brother, Neteyam, to get the acceptance of The People. They always had their eyes on you, watching your every move, ready to criticize everything you did wrong. Nothing was ever good for them. Not good enough to live up to your Father, to be the next leader of your clan.
You never told your parents about how you felt or what the children your age did, dealing with it yourself. It wasn’t very good that you kept it to yourself but you felt like you had no choice. You didn’t want to worry your parents with what was happening, didn’t want to seem weak in front of them. You wanted to be strong like your Mother and Father, strong heart like those before you. Surely both of your parents experienced more traumatizing things throughout their lifetime than what you were going through. You could handle it yourself.
But, alas, you failed at having it handled.
— this weight on my shoulders | neteyam
genre: angst, some fluff, & some comfort
He knew of his previous position within the Sully family prior to your unfortunate passing. Being the second eldest, he was given more leeway on his responsibilities and usually looked after Lo’ak, Kiri, and Tuk.
But now, he’s not too sure where he stands on the family dynamic.
Before you passed, you always helped your parents with whatever they needed. Whether that be prepping dinner, cleaning around the house, aiding in hunting, or even training the young ones so Jake could have a break from training the little rascals. You did it all. You were the eldest Sully and it was expected of you.
There was a lot of weight on your shoulders and Neteyam felt like he was cracking under the pressure.
Other WIPs That Don’t Have A Description Yet
— feels like we buried alive something that never died | kiri
genre: angst & very minimal comfort
— my forever | ao’nung
genre: fluff
— my baby bro | lo’ak (requested)
genre: angst to comfort

A passage from Tuk-Tuk’s diary.
now playing: fourth of july, sufjan stevens. (for the feels!)
Tumblr media
It has been 972 days since Neteyam died— or so I think. I’m not that good in counting, so I carve sticks on the walls of our house so I can remember. Sa’nok isn’t really fond of it. She says I’m dirtying the hut and forbids me to do it again. I don’t know how to tell her that it’s a way for me to remember without saying my brother’s name because if I do, sa’nok cries.
I don’t like when mama cries. and she cries all the time.
In the dead of night, when everyone is asleep and snoring, she cries. I hear her call for Eywa— but most of the time, she calls for Neteyam and I don’t know how to remind her that he isn’t here anymore. So I let her.
She cries when she makes meals and she thinks she’s alone. Ma forgets that I don’t have that many friends here at the reef yet, so I always stay close to home. I hug her tight. Sometimes, she wraps her arms around me too, but most of the time, she stares at nothing and I’m left to dry her tears myself. I think she gets embarrassed when I see her, so I lie and say I’m off to play with Kiri by the shore— but in truth, I stay behind, just in case she needs someone.
Sa’nok always makes Neteyam’s favorite and everyone always makes room for him at the table. I don’t know how to remind them that he’s not here to eat anymore, so I leave the empty plate alone.
Lo’ak cries too. He thinks he’s being sneaky when he takes too long to look for his things, but really, he just looks down because he doesn’t want anyone to see. Lo’ak doesn’t play with me anymore; he trains a lot more and he’s tougher— he’s like you now. I wonder if he’d swim with me in our Ilus again, but he always drifts off to see payakan, so I don’t think he will.
He’s more easily frustrated. Hurts himself when he misses the fish while hunting or when his Ilu is being difficult. I think he’s being too hard on himself, so I try to keep an eye on him. I don’t want to lose another brother— I promise I’ll look over him this time, great mother, just don’t take him away like you did with Neteyam.
Besides, he also has Tsireya. I think he’s in good hands.
I don’t mind that everyone cries. I cry all the time!
I hurt myself once when I was looking for shells. I scraped my elbow from the nearby rocks and it bled a little— it stung, but then I remember how Neteyam would pick me up and tell me that I was the strongest; that wounds like these wouldn’t last. He said he’d protect me as long as he’s near. Now that he’s gone, I think I have to look over myself now.
I rubbed the bleeding scratch until it became a red patch. As long as it hurt, I would hear him. As long as it hurt, I could feel my brother’s tight embrace.
Sometimes I wonder if I’m the only one who doesn’t see him. Everyone seems to carry on with their life with hints of him; Lo’ak would carry two bows (his and neteyam’s) Mama has his necklace and Kiri uses his hair beads. I wish I had something of him— but then I look around, and I see him everywhere.
His empty hammock, his favorite wooden bowl, and his songcord.
I look for you everywhere, brother, and I see you. I miss you so bad and I can’t talk about it, because if I do, everyone gets sad. Everyone misses Neteyam.
I think it will never get better. I think everyone will cry from now on.

For Lovu! 🍼 🍨 🍄🍎🍒 🍅🥭🧅🍕🥃🥐🌾 🥒🌳🍃🌸🍧
i will respond these questions for family tree!Lovu :3 (he's very diferent from the possible I'm you and you're me!Lovu
tw: idealization to self-harm, emotional abuse, etc
🍼 What's your OC's first memory?
Being held by his Grandmother Christine in the rocking chair next to his crib, he remembers she has blond-white long hair, she was cold and her arms were very thin and wrinkled, he remembers being called "jakey" or "Tommy" but never by his real name as he was falling asleep.
(When he mentioned this to his family at dinner one night. Taliya and Lo'ak were shocked while Jake has an amused face like it was just a fucking joke.
"It seems he's crazy like your sister, baby." Jake says to Lo'ak.
At bedtime, Taliya said to her little brother that Grandmother Christine died a year before his birth.)
🍨How does your OC compose in stressful situations?
The majority of times, he just cries until he can calm down and think better the situation. When he gets to be 13, after try to be more like jake told him a boy is supossed to be but failing, he just accepts that he is a cry baby, so he just hides from daddy when he cant take it anymore, and cry until the nerves are gone. Also but this is mostly a way of cope with any bad situation in general that is fun of the situation, making bad and pesimist jokes about it.
Tw: self harm mention.
He is not gonna lie that he thought sometimes in hit or cut himself every time he cries in a form of punishment but one of the bad things of be capable of see and interact with ghosts is never be alone and privacy is a foreign concept to him, so he ended to decline that option.
[MUSHROOM ASK] How likely is your OC to eat random berries/mushrooms they find?
Very high, i can see him picking a white mushroom from a tree in one of the family trips to the beach and his curiosity winning over his reason (something that happens often), and as consequence having to being taken to the hospital inmdediately.
Also, i have the hc like one of the characters from "One hundred years of solicitude" By Gabriel Garcia Marquez, between his 4-8 years he liked to eat dirt until Jake had to force him to stop by the bad way.
🍎Who does your OC value above all else?
I think the easiest answer would be Taliya bc is not just his oldest sister but the person that helps him in everything and often deals with the problems he causes. But, is also truth that Lo'ak is the person that always showed him the most affection and love when he needed it, and Jake...well Jake is Daddy and he always was there to protect and take care (if the care was good or bad way is another topic) of him, so yes, he is also important.
In resume, i think he values his family above everything else even if it is fucked up.
🍒Who is your OC's perfect companion?
Between the alive, Taliya without doubt but between the ghosts that are always walking, looming, etc through his house is Neteyam, the first ghost that presented to him by his real name, something that ghosts doesnt do often.
Neteyam would help him escape from Jake when things are tense, he would talk with him about almost everything (Except about Jake and Lo'ak and the forbidden attic) and he is maybe is his best friend.
🍅How misunderstood is your oc?
Well, we can say he suffers over toxic masculinity from part of Jake (also a little bit from Taliya and Loak but is more something that they have internalized from living in pratiarchy, etc). Being too strict with what he does, make him try his same hobbies (hunt, shooting bc #americamilitardad trauma and boxing when he is older), openly dislike when Lovu shows his emotions by crying or being too excited (even if lovu inherited being emotional from him bc lets be honest: loak is in harmony with his heart and Rjake is emotions mess like his son (just that Lovu is more of the crying type while rjake the oppsite)).
He is also very judged by his teachers, having problems to take attention to class, almost always being found sleeping during class (he and taliya share the same sleep problems but he is worse bc even if she can see shadows, she can't heard them unlike her brother can with ghosts. "Grandpa Ron loves sing in the bathroom at midnight." He says to his oldest sister one morning on their way at school. "He sucks at it but he pretends the oppossite.") and sometimes he screams in class out of nowhere (a ghost's problem, they like play rude with him in some ocassions)
🥭 What colours represent them the best? And why? Does this differs from their favorite colors?
Mmmm...blue, dark green and gray, mostly due the ghost magic thing and because he is a sad anxious boy 24/7 that love rainy days while his favorite colour would be yellow or orange.
🧅 What is surefire to make your OC cry? Who knows of this information?
He hates the silent treatment, the silence is not jus unnatural for him, and if he doesn't talk with someone alive the dead ones's voices would be the only sound he could heard, but is also always has the meaning he did something really bad even if he cant understand what. Obviously, the one who apply this the most is jake but sadly, pre-teen taliya used to do it too when they fought until her brother ended crying all night one time, making her realize it was very serious for him.
🍕How good is your OC at sharing? How do they share something if there is not enough supply?
More than share, Lovu never had something he could call completely his (his clothes are his daddy or uncle, toys were taliya's first, the ghosts love steal his things or hide them to mess with him, etc) more his relationship with taliya makes him learn to share almost everything since young age so i can see him always being open to share something that there is not supply for (except inthe specific case where is to someone outside of his family and is about basic life item like medicine that they would need, in that case he would say the other person to fuck off (not literally ofc bc he would shit his pants first)
🥃 What does your OC look for in a friend? What do they find is a turn-off?
He is a happy with a friend that would stay with him even after they notice how he talks to a wall sometimes. tbh, he is a very lonely kid like his sister and their daddy is Rjake, he doesnt have high-moral standards for a friend, while they don't treat him like if he were stupid and is a good person making conversation, he would not care if they have killed all their own family and keep the bodies in the back garden of their house as long as they don't involve him in that problem.
("Your bestfriend is fucking ghost," Taliya said to him one time.
"And you don't have friends at all," He fought back. "That's why you make me follow you in everything."
"That hurts my feelings."
"Sorry," He answer quickly, trying to fix it. "i mean it but that doesnt have something bad, you know? like Daddy says Weirdos stay together."
"Shut up, Lovu."
"Sorry.")
🥐 Where is your OC from? How do they feel about their homeland? Where are they now?
As his sister, he is from a small hidden town that my peanut brain didn't chose a name yet for it but tbh even if everyone there knows each other due to be so small, he likes his house that has a lot of privacy and space, also there are rumors about ghosts being stronger in big cities and he already has enough of that in the present.
🌾 How picky is your OC with food? What will and won't they eat?
Thanks to Grandfather Ron's ghost telling him about his most explicit experiences in combat (he was exagerating a good part of them tho) Lovu started hate meat and he is vegetarian (this causes a lot of jokes from Jake)
🥒 How innocent are they (unaware to the bad happenings around them)?
We can say he is very an inocent kid in general but not bc he cant understand what is hapening around him (Taliya and neteyam are also a good help atleast know when something bad is happening in the house) to him in that way but more bc he is constantly deniyng what is the reality of why his house is full of ghost haunting it, especially the ones who are not related to him or his family.
🌳What's your OC's favourite thing to do at the park?
Unlike Taliya, Lovu doesnt like being at the park at all, too much sun, too much kids (even if himself is one) too much noise but when he is there, he likes pass hours in the hammocks, playing "i spy with my litte eye" with neteyam or his sister, doing his best to ignore the ghosts of kids around the place bc they always have the worst backgroud stories of how they died and he doesnt need to know about it.
🍃What's the darkest period of time your OC has been through?
I cant so much here bc it would be heavy spoilers from Family Tree so i just will say he and Taliya are separated from their parents for some months and none of them is having a good time with it.
🌸 Does your OC believe in legends/myths?
In a way, he can make contact with some of the own legends and myths by himself, so yeah, he is completely sure they are truth.
🍧 What's your OC's favourite flavour of edible thing (e.g., strawberry)?
DARK CHOCOLATE IN EVERYTHING.

Only memories now
This is my second Avatar one-shot, hope you guys enjoy it Focused on Lo’ak and Jake reflecting on Neteyam’s death
There had been no rest for Lo'ak's mind these past few days, his thoughts completely on his brother. Guilt weighed heavily on his heart, as if anything he did wrong, even if he was warned not to, would lead to Neteyam's death.
Not being able to sleep, he decided to get up and look for Payakan, maybe leaving the house a little or talking to his friend would help at least distract his mind at the moment.
Along the way, he met someone he didn't expect to find. His father sitting by the sea, alone, clearly devastated. Lo'ak hesitated a bit before approaching, not wanting to disturb him. Not having much to do, he decided to just sit next to his father, waiting for him to say something first.
-Couldn't you sleep too, son? - Jake asked him, removing the boy's fear of approaching completely.
-No, I just can't stop thinking about him - Lo'ak confessed, after sitting down - I keep blaming myself, I keep thinking that if I wasn't so stubborn and had listened to him more often, he would be here with us now ...
He ended up crying next, unable to hold back the tears, his father offered him a hand on his shoulder, letting him cry in silence.
-Blaming yourself has no use, you know that whether you asked or not, he would do anything to keep you safe, he was like that... - Jake tried to console him - I know what it's like to go through that...
"I understand, you lost one of your children," Lo'ak murmured back, thinking he understood everything.
-No, that's not what I meant - his father clarified, softly - it hurts to lose my son, but I know what it's like to lose a brother...
-Did you have a brother? You never told us that - Lo'ak understood, although he was surprised by the new information.
-I lost him very quickly and then I came here, there was too much going on and I don't think I had time to process everything, to go through the grieving process in the right way - Jake said, taken by memories of that time.
-What happened? You fought? - Lo'ak wanted to know.
-We were very close when we were kids, Tommy and I, we were born together, you know? We were twins - the father continued to tell - but after I joined the army we drifted apart, he didn't agree with my decision, and he also had different interests from mine, he was a scientist, one of Norm's best friends.
-Norm knew him? - the information surprised the boy even more.
-Yes, they would come here together, not me - Jake paused, sighing before continuing - they killed him simply to get his money, such a stupid reason to do something so cruel, when they warned me, he was already dead, and there was nothing I could do, I decided to come here and you know the rest of the story, but there's a part of me that regrets it, that blames itself for not having time with him, for not looking for him sooner, it's something I can never fix and I'm going to have to deal with it. Just like your mother, losing her sister wasn't in her control either.
-Is Ronal right after all? - Lo'ak reflected aloud, after hearing all this - Eywa has abandoned us and we are a family of unlucky strangers?
-No, son, I don't think so - Jake looked at him firmly, with patience and pity - I consider myself the luckiest guy to have you, what brought me here was a tragedy, I know, but I like to think that was Tommy's final act to see me happy, I would never find someone like your mother on Earth and I would never have you, I wouldn't trade you for anything.
-I know, Dad - the boy nodded, knowing that Jake spoke the truth, having seen all the sacrifice he had made for the good of the family.
-There are things that are not under our control, like thesky people come back and we have to move, and Neteyam dies - before continuing, he sighed again, having difficulty mentioning him - but we still have one another, we are building a home here, at least I can see how hard you are trying...
-I wouldn't have Payakan's friendship if we didn't come here - Lo'ak pondered, understanding what his father meant - or Tsireya, or everyone else, somehow  everyone ended up accepting us.
-I understand - Jake managed to smile - when they destroyed the Home Tree I felt useless, an outcast, that I would never be able to regain the trust of the people who adopted me, and even after everything, they still remember where I came from when they look at me, this is a battle we will never stop fighting.
-Having to prove myself the rest of my life because you were born human- his son replied, with bitterness in his voice.
-Yeah, that's right, but at least here, with the Metkayina, things are better, aren't they? - Jake tried to show him a little hope.
-Yes, they are - Lo'ak managed to smile, a small smile still, and full of nostalgia for Neteyam, but happy to be having that moment with his father.
-Let's be thankful for that then - His dad decided - Eywa is on our side, and most importantly, she is with your brother.
"Yes," the boy replied quietly.
-We will celebrate Neteyam forever, he will never die in our hearts, let's keep the good memories alive- his father advised.
-I miss him bothering me, we talked at the end of the day... - Lo'ak commented.
-I miss him too, how he was noble, brave, kind to all of us, the way he smiled when he got excited... - It was Jake's turn to allow himself to cry now.
"He will live on in our hearts," Lo'ak had the nerve to finally say.
Courage pushed him a little further and the boy hugged his father. It was almost as if Neteyam was there, making sure they looked after each other in his absence.
----
A/N.: That was my second idea for an Avatar one-shot, inspired by the new movie. I need more moments like that with Jake and Lo'ak in the next movie.

Avatar: The Way of Water
Avatar: The Way of Water has a lot going on, but there is one thing abundantly clear throughout its (interminable) 3 hour and 15 minute runtime: Director James Cameron has a boundless love for the world he has created and all of its native inhabitants. When the credits finally rolled, I was left wishing he had simply made a couple of faux documentaries about Pandora narrated by Sigourney Weaver.
Cameron takes particular pride and care when depicting Pandora’s flora and fauna. His passion for marine biology shines particularly bright in this long-awaited sequel as the majority of it takes place in, under and around water. A Pandoran whale ends up becoming one of the most endearing characters in the film. He also has a palpable love for the new family unit(s) that are introduced here. This sequel may have taken more than a decade to finally arrive, but James Cameron wanted this to be about something and not just contain wall-to-wall spectacle.
Personally, I would have preferred the spectacle compared to what we got.
For as much obvious affection as Cameron has for this world and these characters, very little of that translates into an engaging story or characters that register. This would have been forgivable and perhaps even understandable in a 90 minute, or even two hour, movie. But when you have no real story to speak of and not a single character, new or returning, feels fleshed out in a meaningful way with a runtime that outlasts The Godfather by about 20 minutes, something is horribly amiss.
Following a bit of a recap, The Way of Water picks up in earnest roughly 15 years or so after the events of the original film, which saw humans pushed out of Pandora en masse and Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), now fully integrated into his avatar body. Jake is now a father to three children with Neytiri (Zoe Saldana), as well as adoptive father to two wayward kids as well. There’s Spider (Jack Champion), the wayward human son of Col. Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang), and Kiri (Sigourney Weaver), the immaculately conceived daughter of Dr. Grace Augustine (Sigourney Weaver), who died while inhabiting her avatar in the previous film. All of whom are forced into exile when the regrouping human colonists are determined to kill Jake and dissolve the insurgency he leads.
These kids are the driving force of the whole thing, both mechanically and thematically, for good and ill. What story exists on the page is theirs. Sorry, Jake Sully fans, he’s only going to show up sporadically to get mad at his sons for disobeying him and little else. Neytiri has even less to do. The rest of the time we’re largely stuck with these kids attempting to settle into their new lives among a new tribe of Na’vi who have adapted and taken to the sea of Pandora the way Neytiri’s tribe flourished in its forest. This, naturally, leads to all sorts of fish-out-of-water hijinx, both literally and figuratively. The boys, Neteyam (Jamie Flatters) and Lo’ak (Britain Dalton) just want to fit in. Kiri begins to more fully realize the spiritual and physical connection she has with the planet itself. The youngest, Tuk (Trinity Jo-Li Bliss), is also accounted for.
Dull and unengaging as most of their escapades are, though, it’s during this middle stretch that Cameron shows where his heart remains. As in real life, his passion is for the sea and its inhabitants. If James Cameron could grow gills and never rise to the surface again, he would likely have already done so. You’ll not find a more vividly rendered and realized environment in a movie than the seas of Pandora. It is a space that is at once familiar and yet wholly, rivetingly alien. He presents us a dreamy vista of a submerged paradise and intentionally lingers there for extended stretches. It’s entirely digital, and yet it feels as tangible and real as anything else on a movie screen this year. There are other talented special effects houses out there, but the work that WETA Digital has put forth for this movie is something an echelon above anything else I’ve seen in recent memory.
But sumptuous underwater escapades only retain their engagement for so long here. There reached a point where I stopped being able to tell which blue alien cat boy which. Kiri’s connection to the planet can only be so meaningful without some engagement deeper than “she just feels it.” There was certainly space to play here. At its core you could say this movie was, at least on paper, intended to be an examination of fatherhood and the ways that expectations of fatherly behavior are often at complete odds with how children, and sons especially, are failed by living up to those expectations. Fathers need to be more than just a stern voice and a “protector” (the latter of which Jake Sully fails fairly spectacularly at being).
This could have been especially interesting given what’s at stake for Quaritch. Despite becoming Neytiri’s new arrow quiver at the end of the first movie, he’s now back but in Na’vi form. Ostensibly implanted with his former self’s full batch of memories and even personality, New Quaritch must now wrestle with inhabiting the build and visage of the very thing he once tried to annihilate, all while reckoning with the (now grown) son he may or may not have even known he had. A tale of two fathers, both at odds with their brood, their life and their purpose.
All of it is largely ignored. We don’t even get a perfunctory moment where Quaritch finds himself even slightly contemplating the nature of his existence and why he must remain on the path his former self set in motion despite the fact that he’s only technically that person still.
At least the final hour of The Way of Water is an absolute banger and an explosive reminder that almost no one else does large-scale, big budget action like James Cameron. It’s cleanly executed, thrilling from moment to moment and brimming with the kind of kinetic spectacle that you’d expect from the man.
And in full honesty, it’s hard to be fully mad at a mega-budget movie that is such an unsubtle diatribe against destructive environmental practices, annoying dudebros who love to play the part of military tough guys and historical atrocities enacted by colonizers. No other director would likely dare to be so brazen in their messaging with so much money at stake. But when central themes are left unexplored and characters remain frustratingly underdeveloped, all the audacity in the world can’t keep your movie from bellyflopping onto the immaculately rendered ocean surface.

A PASSAGE FROM TUK-TUK’S DIARY (THE END ¿ )
Tumblr media
NOW PLAYING: JUST TAKE MY WALLET, JACK STAUBER
I know when someone dies, they’ll never come back. But after Neteyam was gone, he never really left immediately. He always visited me in dreams— played with me like always. To me, he never really died. It didn’t feel like that at first, or maybe I just didn’t really understand.
I don’t know how many days it has been. I stopped drawing sticks at home because it was getting obvious and cramped and the pages of my book is growing thin. I can’t count it with my fingers, even with my sibling’s combined! I tried to draw on leaves, but I keep losing them.
I am scared of forgetting.
I am forgetting what Neteyam smells like. I don’t want to, so I try to gather his necklaces and other clothings for myself and I tuck myself to sleep along it. In the morning, dad looked at me funny and yelled—maybe it’s because he doesn’t want us to touch his things or because he doesn’t know how to talk to me anymore. Dad has been distant and cold, but I don’t blame him. Like Lo’ak, sempu is just as hard on himself. He thinks what happened on the ship was his fault; he thinks he failed as a father.
It’s odd because he still has us three.
I don’t know how to explain that his scent is dying without saying his name, because if I do, he stares at nothing and I can’t get ahold of him. It’s like he drifts to somewhere far, somewhere where he can’t hear me. I miss my dad, I miss when he played with us. I don’t think he loves me as much as before anymore. Things changed and I don’t know how to handle it.
I let him take his things again and maybe for the better. I don’t want it to smell like me. I want it to still smell like him. Maybe I’ll have to just borrow it sometimes.
I am forgetting how Neteyam sounds like. I don’t hear his voice correctly in my mind now, so I grow frustrated every time. I try to cover my ears, but it just isn’t the same anymore.
Even my dreams of Neteyam are a blur. Like he was nothing— like he was never truly there. Maybe he got tired of visiting, maybe he doesn’t love me as much anymore. I wonder if this is what death truly is. To forget someone.
This family is breaking and it’s all your fault. I know life is borrowed, but did you have to take him away so soon? Please, great mother, give him back to us. He was my brother first— he was my mother’s son before you. I don’t know the softest way to say that you took away my friend because all I feel is grief and grief is ugly, you might not like the words that I would tell.
I miss Neteyam and I don’t have the words to express it. He didn’t die on that rock. He died today. I can’t remember him anymore.
He died today.
