How does the Wukongverse gang feel about the stone matriarch au updates? Do they still keep in touch with each other?
-💜(@fruit-fight)
The Wukongverse isn't a linear au/story, so they just hang out whenever.
That being said, if Dawn/LMK!SWK experiences the Stone Matriarch au and all that it implies...
Dasheng: "Oh hey, you've been busy-" Dawn, thousand-yard stare: "There used to be more of us. There used to be a troupe of Stone Monkeys on Mount Huaguo, and their last Matriarch was out mother." Rest of the monkeys: "...wut" ( 0_0) Dawn: "They were wiped out in the Great Flood when the Heavenly Pillar broke. When my mother thought that she had lost her mate, she deliberately buried herself to form the Stone Egg that would become me." Cherry: "The boulder is our mom!?" Other Monkeys: "Shush!" Ace: "While these plot twists are so very entertaining, can we see some evidence?" Dawn: *quietly reveals Luzhen, fast asleep in a papoose* The Other Monkeys: "!!!" Dawn: "My mother's mate didn't die in the flood, but had become trapped beneath the mountain. He too made a Stone Egg." Starfruit, confused: "He looks exactly like you, man!" Smokey, calculating "Well since mates naturally share dao.. then that would make him our-" Shihou, bounces up excited: "WE HAVE A LITTLE BROTHER!" Sugar, worried: "But what if *ours* is still stuck under the mountain?" All the SWKs: "..." All the SWKs:
Tumblr media
They leave the meeting room deserted within seconds.
Some of their respective LEMs come running too while others are super confused/worried.
Dusk/LMK!LEM just wanders in, checks on Luzhen to make sure the baby wasn't scared by all the noise, and comments:
Dusk: "Wow. You didn't even touch the fact that Guanyin is your mother's reincarnation." The LEMs, all-hearing: "SHE'S/THEY'RE WHAT?!
Lots of chaos ensues across the multiverse as the differnt monkeys try to figure out what parts of the Stone Matriarch story fits their worlds.
The ones who manage to unearth their version of Luzhen clutch the newborn Stone Monkey tight, sobbing at the joy of finding another of their kind.

Did a design of the New Gods: Ne Zha for HIB Dàshèng's look— the mask mostly was the purpose of this piece.
You have no idea how much I had fun with drawing this.

headcanons of monkey king of nezha reborn new gods??🤔
Been a while since I've gotten a headcanon request! Not sure what the context of the headcanon is, so I'll just do general stuff.
I feel like Nezha Reborn Monkey King would be an introvert's worst nightmare (I know I feel stressed out just thinking of it). He would definitely go out of his way just to make things more uncomfortable. But not too uncomfortable as to scare you off.
But on the flip side, I think as an artist, his style is very inspiring. So many colors and shapes that click with each other, makes you want to draw him. Just don't let him find your sketchbook or artbook, he'll never leave you be after that. (He'd probably bug you about drawing more of him I'm sure)
Poor dude is probably lonely. He's usually alone, but he does have Li. Still though, he gets so excited just by being around others, it's pretty obvious. Plus, monkeys are pretty social, it's not healthy for someone like Monkey King to be isolated.
Defiantly has an uncle-nephew relationship with Li and you can not convince me otherwise.
You like your personal space? Monkey King also likes your personal space.
I'd assume that he still acts like a monkey sometimes, such as grooming or being a bit clingy.
Same can be said with how silly he acts sometimes
Literally everything he does is done in an extravagant way. From how he dresses, how he talks, to how he behaves, it's all for show.
I bet he sings a lot, or at least he gets pretty vocal even when alone.
Even though he's pretty silly, he's still dangerous. Casually dragging a corpse back home like it's a normal Sunday walk is a bit of concerning behavior. Granted, he's probably done this a lot before.

I just watched Yang Jian, soooo.... we're talking about that today.
More specifically these a-holes:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Buckle up.
Known as the 4 Heavenly kings, the 4 Diamond Kings of Heaven, or Fēng Tiáo Yǔ Shùn (風調雨順; lit. 'Good climate'), these guys play a pretty big part in the Buddhist religion. They are often depicted on doorways, two on each side, and like many other groups of 4 in Chinese myth are linked with the cardinal directions.
Mo Li Hung/Duōwén Tiānwáng/Vessavana/Bishamon-ten: Protector of the North and ruler of rain, as shown by his fancy umbrella, the Umbrella of Chaos. Opening it turns the skies pitch dark, and turning it upside down causes massive storms. (Fun fact: also one of the Japanese Shichi-fujin/7 Gods of Fortune)
Mo Li Ching/Zēngzhǎng Tiānwáng/Virūlhaka/Zōchō-ten: Protector of the South and a god of plant life and growth. He has a super special sword, Blue Cloud, that can cause massive black winds and turn into a bunch of spears that turn people to dust.
Mo Li Hai/Chíguó Tiānwáng/Dhatarattha/Jikoku-ten: Protector of the East and god of music. As a result, his main weapon is his sick guitar that can mess up nature and cause all sorts of weird crap to happen.
Mo Li Shou/Guăngmù Tiānwáng/Virūpakkha/Kōmoku-ten: Protector of the East and an all-seeing deity that watches over everything. His tools are a magic bag and the goodest little guy Hua-hu Tiao, a white mink. His shoulder-buddy can also be a snake or dragon, depending on the version, but I like the fluffer.
Now, these guys have important jobs and are well respected in their own rights and stuff, but their most famous Chinese myth seems to be that time they got their asses kicked by Erlang Shen.
Okay, I guess that isn't entirely accurate as he and Nezha were mainly helping some guy named Huang Tianhua, but still. (Also don't expect any info on that Tianhua guy, I got nothing)
Anyways, the story starts when some guys pray for help in battle and for some reason the 4 brothers decide it's totally worth it to go down to the mortal realm themselves along with 1,000 celestial soldiers to kick some ass. Mo-li Shou sends his little floofer to go around and eat the opposing army's soldiers while the big boys kicked butt, but unfortunately one of the soldiers Hua-hu Tiao ate was Erlang Shen, here called by his other name Yang Jian. Erlang doesn't like that very much, so he rips his way out of Hua-hu, killing it, then transforms himself to look like it and sneaks back to his 'master,' waiting for the moment to strike.
Back at the plot, Nezha manages to break the 4 kings' divine weapons, making an opening for Tianhua to kill 3 of them, leaving only Mo-li Shou. Turning to his trusty fur-buddy to bail him out, Shou tries to sic Hua-hu at them, but surprise! That's actually Erlang Shen who bites his hand clean off. The ensuing agony gives Tianhua the distraction he needs to un-alive the last brother and win the day.
And then I guess they got out of the underworld on good behavior or something, because they continued to be important gods in the pantheon for many centuries to come.

the New Gods movie series (by Light Chaser Animation studios mainly, I believe) really has no right to go as hard as it does, aside from being really cool retellings of Chinese myths.
it’s the video-game-esque animation style. it’s the massive spiritual godly forms. it’s the classic rock riffs. it’s the futuristic punk settings. it’s iconic.

The Wukong's were debating if they should have a free-for-all to see which of them was the strongest and MK thought he was included because, well, he's the next Monkey King. He failed to realize none of the other Wukong's were aware of this
I had a dumb idea for a crossover and this happened ignore the numbers there is no fourth panel i was tired alright
So basically this au takes place after the s3 finale, and it happened because Wukong went into his Pile Of Stuff looking for something that would help him mentor MK. Of course he ended up bringing four alternate versions of himself to his universe + some tag-alongs. Of course, having five Wukongs in one place is just a recipe for disaster, and there would've been an all out brawl had MK not showed up. Once everyone calmed down and MK asked Monkey King what was going on, all five of them answered at once and everyone present quickly realized That Was Not Going To Work. Another fight almost happened over who get to keep the name of Monkey King, but MK made them draw sticks. In the end, LMK!Wukong ended up getting to keep the title of King.
To decide what everyone else would be called, MK turned to the tag-alongs and asked them what they thought their respective Monkey King's should be called.
Liuer said he called his Monkey King Dasheng most of the time, so it seemed pretty fitting. Fruity suggested Monkey for his, but Reborn!Wukong quickly shot that down and declared he would be Sage and that was that. Liu Er, who is apparently a great judge of character, thought it would be hilarious if his was called Shortstack. 09!Wukong loudly objected to this, and the two started a light-hearted argument. The other Wukong's shared a glance and unanimously agreed this one would be called "Lucky", because they were all jealous of how truly carefree this Wukong seemed to be. That, and none of them had a good relationship with their Macaque and they were envious this one was able to keep his. (Once LMK!Macaque shows up, everyone quickly realizes having THREE people who share the name "Liu Er"/"Liuer" is a problem so they started to call 09!Macaque Mihou) Yunxiang just sighs and says "Uncle. Mine should be called Uncle." When Yunxiang was given questioning looks he said he reminded him of the weird uncle a lot of families have. They decided it was good enough, and Uncle didn't exactly argue.
As for why Liuer is calling Dasheng "dad" it's a personal headcanon of mine that after the movie Dasheng adopts him, or at least becomes a strong enough father-figure Liuer just started calling him dad and never stopped. (The first time it happened Dasheng tried very hard not to cry. He failed.)
King is also severely regretting his life choices because he now has to deal with four other versions of himself trying to fight MK to test how many powers they share and how strong he is, and almost has a heart attack every single time it happens. Macaque just finds this whole thing absolutely hilarious.
And Sage doesn't have the circlet because the other Wukong's took one look at it and decided "Oh hell no" and chucked it as far as they could into the horizon. (and i can't draw circlets to save my life)
