Daniella flicked her tail as she scanned the coral shelves, looking for treasures that had fallen from the surface. Lotus swam around close by, letting out her excess energy that should couldn't in the monastery. Daniella smiled as she watched Lotus swim a loop de loop before speeding off in a new direction. She giggled as she returned to her search. She pushed a cluster of seaweed to the side and gasped at the sight on the shelf below her. A palm sized stone with light pastels was laying there, surrounded by bubbles.

Daniella leaned her head over to one side as she continued to stare at her find. The bubbles were not floating like most bubbles did. These bubbles seemed to stay with the stone. Lotus finished her laps and swam to Daniella's side and followed the mermaid's gaze to the weird stone and the bubbles. Lotus flapped her wings in confusion, not understanding what the stone was either. Daniella looked from the stone to Lotus, then back to the stone before reaching out her hand. Lotus nipped at the girl's hand, causing Daniella to jerk her hand back. Lotus swam backwards a little and twirled in a circle before snorting.

"Don't touch it."

"Oh come on. Sure it's weird, but it's a rock. A very pretty rock. It's not even glowing, bubbles do weird things sometimes," she reasoned with the dragon before turning back to the stone.

Lotus watched carefully as Daniella waved her hand above the bubbles, trying to stir them away. Some of the small bubbles started floating to the surface. Daniella smiled and looked over her shoulder at her dragon companion.

"See? I told you," she smiled. Lotus eyed the strange bubbles behind Daniella and started to growl. Daniella slowly turned her head and quickly backed away when she had seen the stone floating inside the biggest bubble, slightly glowing.

"Okay, maybe it's not fine," Daniella gasped as she watched the bubble slowly start to make it's way to her.

Daniella and Lotus continued to back up, trying to get away from the strange rock. It stopped in between the shelves, letting the light shine down on it. Daniella and Lotus both looked at each other before slowly swimming towards it. With Daniella on one side and Lotus on the other, Daniella held her hands out under the bubble. As soon as her hands were under it, the bubble popped and the stone fell into her hands, losing it's glow. Lotus inched closer, sniffing the stone suspiciously. Daniella turned the stone over in her hands as she inspected it more.

"I'm getting bad vibes, put it back," Lotus said, shaking her head.

"You get bad vibes from everything. You thought that Cole was going to kill me when he first arrived at the monastery, and I'm still here," Daniella tutted, turning the stone over again.

"He's a big scary merman, and he was getting to close!" Lotus objected.

"You bit him! That's why he acts weird around you and besides, maybe I want him close," Daniella smiled, wrapping her fingers around the stone.

In a flash of silver, the stone transformed into a intricate trident. Daniella and Lotus both yelped as Daniella let go like the metal had burned her. They watched as it sank to a nearby shelf, changing back into a stone. Daniella swam closer, with Lotus behind her, ready to strike.

"Okay, I take it back. Cole's not that bad. You can keep him, not this thing. Come on, let's go," Lotus tried to reason, swimming in the other direction. She flapped her wings in irritation as Daniella carefully picked up the stone again.

Daniella rubbed her thumb over the stone's smooth service as she silently asked the stone to change again. It granted the girl's wish, and in mere seconds the stone was again a trident. Her grin grew wider as she thought about how the stone had felt in her hand. The trident, sensing her latest command, changed back into a stone. Daniella turned back to Lotus, who had been watching flabbergasted.

"Dani, no," Lotus said, knowing what Daniella's response would be.

"Dani, yes! Come on, we have to show the others!" Daniella replied happily, swimming past her companion in the direction of the monastery. Lotus shook her head as she slowly turned and began to follow Daniella.

"Yes, let's take the weird rock that turns into a pointy stick to our house. Because that makes so much sense. I can't bite this thing!"

Okay, this was so much fun to do. There is no lineart and I absolutely love how this turned out. I hope to maybe flesh out this story line more, but this is how Daniella found the Moonstone in this AU

I know everyone is excited for dragons rising and so am I but May is not over yet! So here's my drawing for mermay:

I actually forgot about mermay but I managed to do something before it ended :) (and tried a no lineart style)

Fun fact: I didn't know what ship to draw so I randomized it and ninjago was literally 1 of the 6 options (the other ones were ocs) and then I randomized the ship and plasma came out so good for you I guess xd.

Also I finally watched crystalized and I kinda liked the characterization overall but hated what they did with Harumi (she should have stayed dead) and the ending was rushed but overall I enjoyed it.

Mermay? No. Mermorro

I spent a while trying to figure out what kind of fish he should be before realizing there is a perfectly good wojira right there. May or may not have accidentally used the same stock image background as last year's mermay (don't look at it its old). Also wow it has been a while since I've drawn anything, sorry about that I don't know what happened. But at least I got this done in time!
