Chapter 1 - It’s Okay

The Red Shogun leaned against a pole, glancing around the tavern. He watched as two Skulkin, Wyplash and Krazi, sparred in the Slither Pit. Wyplash struck with his flail, effectively taking off Krazi’s left arm. She laughed triumphantly, kicking Krazi in the rib cage. The other Skulkin crumbled to the ground. “You never were a good fighter.“ Wyplash taunted, swinging his flail over her shoulder.

“And Wyplash has been declared the winner!” A Hypnobrai, Mezmo, the owner of the tavern, held up Wyplash’s hand, and the Skulkin cheered her own name. Another Hypnobrai, Rattla, Mezmo’s younger brother, helped put Krazi back together. All four of them backed out of the ring. Mezmo returned to their place at the front of the tavern and called out;

“The next fighters, Zoltar of the Venomari, vs Kai, the Red Shogun!” Kai stepped forward into the ring, ready for the Slither Pit. A Serpentine confronted him, his four eyes staring him down. “We meet again, Red Shogun.” He said dramatically. “You ready to get beat again?” Kai smiled smugly. “You ready to throw hands?”

Zoltar rushed forward, tail lashing, and swiped at Kai, barely missing his face. Kai took a step back, fists in front of him. He delivered a blow, softly hitting the Serpentine’s side. He hissed dramatically, and tripped Kai with his tail. Kai fell, barely stopping himself from hitting his head.

“We have a winner!” Mezmo declared, walking over to Zoltar. They held up his hand, and the Venomari smirked at the Red Shogun. “Zoltar of the Venomari!” Kai shook his head in defeat. “Try again, Red Shogun.” Zoltar laughed. “Try again.”

Kai sat on a bench next to the statue of the Titanium Ninja. Zane’s old falcon sat on his shoulder, and he let out a sigh.

“May I sit here?” He looked up to see Zoltar. “Hey.” He smiled. “Yeah, you can.” He scooted over, allowing the Serpentine to sit next to him. “That was a good fight today, huh?” Zoltar smiled back at the red ninja. “Yeah, guess so.” “You alright? You don’t sound like yourself.”

Kai met the Venomari’s four eyes. “Yeah I just —“ He sighed. “I was thinking about Zane.” Zoltar frowned. “I know, the whole city misses him. He was a good hero.” He looked back at Kai. “Are your other friends still gone?” He nodded. “Yeah. Jay’s been running some show, and no one’s heard from Cole in a while.” He sighed again. “I-I guess I miss them. Lloyd and Nya too, they’re my little siblings, I-“ He put his head in his hands. “Why did I ever leave them?”

Zoltar put his hand on Kai’s shoulder. “I think they’d understand, we all deal with grief differently. It’s okay to be upset or angry. What’s important is that you work to get better, to live on for the one you lost.”

Kai smiled at him. “Thanks, Zoltar.” He leaned against him. “I love you.” The Serpentine smiled softly. “I love you too.”

(This has been in my drafts since November 2022 and I just found it)

When Lloyd and Morro are fighting over the Realm Crystal, they use it and travel to some of the realms, one of which is the Underworld.

Yeah duh, it Underworld is the first realm aside from Ninjago that we’re introduced to

It’s also stated in the pilots that dragons can travel between the realms.

So how do the Skulkin travel back and forth from the Underworld to Ninjago?

In their vehicles made out of…bones.

Where's that guy on the bike going? And there are three previous bikers who go in that same direction, towards the back of the Smithy.

And we don't see any of them double back on screen. They could be going around the back, but we don't see any of them.

Plus with the timing between them, it looks like it may be an animation loop.

Forget memes Ninjago citizens would make, what kind of memes would every dimension ever start making after the Merge? Can you imagine how absolutely buckwild it would be to see so many different memes converging together?

I like how Ninjago has two different Hells, representing two different aspects of what happens to you when you die; There's the Underworld and Skulkin, who are the bones left over, the decayed body. And then there's the Cursed Realm and ghosts, who are the spirits, the soul that abandons the mortal flesh. This is further emphasized with Morro, who is wandering around as a ghost, but his skeletal remains are a separate thing the ninja find later on.

Day 10: Skeleton

Finished this one a few days ago but didn't post it because i forgot to ask my friends permission (for context, this is said friends AWESOME ASS skulkin oc for an au of theirs) and they said i could post the art!

Anyway, sorry for the lack of posts- i wanted some rest from doing stuff this weekend and kinda put ninjtober on low priority(which is how it'll probably remain tbh, reason being school responsibilites and Physical Therapy for my shrimp posture)
