Do Sesshomaru & Rin have a romantic relationship in the OG?? No, they don't. They are important to each other and It's a special bonding beyond parental or romantic relationship. He saved her and she made him become a better person (demon). It's beautiful! If someone think the love relationship began when she was 7-8, it’s sickening!

Is it possible for Rin to become his wife after growing up? It's just one of the possibilities in the OG universe. Sesshomaru left Rin in the village and gave her a freedom to choose her own future. He didn't raise her or groom her based on the OG's ending. He just occasionally visited her. But it's possible that they develop a love relationship after Rin grows up. After meeting someone as perfect as Sesshomaru, I don't think it's easy for her to love a normal human guy. Sesshomaru is strong and cool. He's perfect, admit it! Whether it's an unhealthy relationship, it highly depends on how the fan fics or fan arts are depicted. People assumes Rin's mindset stayed at 7-8 years old so their relationship will be imbalanced or unhealthy. But it's possible that she becomes a strong and independent woman like Sango, Keada or Kagome in a healthy AU. And in fact, she's surrounded by role models like that. And in that case, it's her own right to choose whether she follows Sesshomaru or not. I did read a lot of well-written fac fics like that. But Yashahime failed to give her a good grown up image, the show ruined all the lovely characters. Any Underage sex and relationship fan fics & pics is a BIG NO. People should be caught because of that. And seriously, report them! But there's nothing wrong to have headcanon about grown up characters developing a love relationship. Even it's a mary-sue imagination, it's fine. Sesshomaru is one of my favourite character in the OG. I feel heard-broken to see him being accused of a pedo. I hate how Yashahime depicts him as a terrible father and possible groomer in grey area. But their unique bonding in the OG is still my favourite. Just throw your hate to the shit show but not the character or each other, ok? And if you truly love the characters or a ship, just don't make it that sickening! At least draw her as an adult, stop making those shits!

AhahahaHA NOT A FAN :D Like. I get it, conceptually; it's a shitty situation in general and obviously she was not the sole person responsible, but she was responsible for her own actions, especially with regards to more personal matters (*cough*Dessler*cough*) and that was just. Not Cool. She should have told Dessler everything way before, particularly when she saw how desperately he was trying to save his people and his planet. The planet's death, of course, would not have been averted, but knowing certain things, knowing things earlier, he may have been able to do things differently, make different arrangements, etc., and possibly saved a hell of a lot more people.

It’s a tie between the flashback where she whispers to child!Dessler “Grow up quickly” (because, my dude, what the FUCK -- like, I get that she probably means in terms of assuming leadership of his people, but the atmosphere is so unnecessarily charged and if their genders had been swapped everyone would have been screaming about grooming/etc. but he’s a male character, so it clearly doesn’t matter as much) and Sasha’s spirit being reincarnated in her and Mamoru’s baby (I really dislike reincarnating spirits in infants, especially since it’s her sister’s soul in her daughter’s body; ugh).

Dessler should have shot her XD

Idk if this is unpopular or not because I have no idea what the fandom looks like, but I don't like her with Dessler; their dynamic is one of the very few shipping dynamics that I not only dislike, but legit squicks me out. I don't like lots of ships, but that's just a taste preference; and there are plenty of ships that I'm fine with that the majority of their fandoms find "toxic" or "problematic" or "abusive." This one actually disturbs me, because the Iscandarian indoctrination of the Garmillas to worship and obey them makes it far less like a romance between two adults, and much more like a romantic relationship between. idk. a dog and his owner. I was meh about it at first -- like, not hating it but not loving it -- until the reveal in 2205. It's an extremely unbalanced relationship and his vulnerability to her is uncomfortable to watch, especially since I get the vibe from the narrative that it's supposed to be read as romantic in a positive light.

Favorite relationship

Uh, Mamoru, I guess? In the sense that she took him in and tried healing him, while his influence grounded her, steering her away from her people’s mentality/way of life and back to a less transcendent/more mundane existence. The baby was unnecessary, though!

Hello I saw a post you made about you hating sans and saw that you shipped Fran’s before. No hate but yea, Frisk is a child because they are apart of the fallen children. Frisk is also their own character because at the end of the pacifist, they reveal their real name, Frisk, and Flowey even asks you to let Frisk live their life once you complete it. Also, Frisk is controlled by the player like Kris is in deltarune and if you played, Kris is a child who’s adopted by toriel and can rip out their soul whenever they want control of their body. So just like Kris, this happens to frisk who is not a self insert but their own character. Also, Toby has never once called Frisk him or her. He always refers Frisk as they/them.

Okay. This is certainly more like the evidence I was looking for, but I suppose that I meant that Frisk was a self-insert in a similar way to how all silent protagonists are self-insert.

You see, silent protagonists are silent to make it easier for the player to insert themselves into the protag's place. The whole point is for immersion. Now, I'll concede that Frisk is probably a child in canon because you're actually going through the effort to not be rude about it.

Now, if Fox really did design Frisk & Kris & Chara to be non-binary, specifically, & they aren't referred to that way as some sort of next-level immersion idea, then fine, sure. I'm all for it.

At the same time, even if you are right, that won't stop anyone from deciding they'd rather have a boy Frisk or a girl Frisk or a trans Frisk or an intersex Frisk because that's just what fandoms do.

It doesn't stop them from doing it with other characters from other franchises & it won't stop them from doing it to Frisk here.

Why? Because these characters aren't real. Never were & never will be. They are malleable.

Now, I agree to a certain extent. If something is canon, then you should acknowledge it as such. Hartman & J.K. Rowling say their characters aren't trans, so, canonically, they're not & I don't like it when people say that they are as if it were canon.

Because it's one thing to headcanon something, it's another to disregard the creator's intent in favor of your own wants & beliefs & push them as canon. That's disrespectful & it shouldn't happen.

However, in fanon, everything is free real estate. You can do whatever you want so long as you say it's just your headcanon.

As for aging characters up. People age, unless you're saying that characters should always stay the age they were in the source material as unageing dolls even inside fanfiction? If so, then there better be a good explanation as to why.

Not to mention, monsters I bet, age very slowly.

Listen, I'm not advocating for freaking toddlers to date full-grown men. The hell kinda shit is that?!

Nor am I okay with grooming. It's part of why I'm Not Okay(TM) with SessRin. She's literally still 14 when she gives birth in the Yashahime series! No! Yuck! Absolutely not!

If the storywriters had instead waited till she was 18 & they hadn't seen each other in a few years, then sure. Fine. I'd still feel a bit squicky because I always saw them as father/daughter, but that's a me problem.

All I'm saying is, time is a thing & if you want to make believable stories, you include it. Time does this magical thing called aging people. Some like it, some hate it, but it happens regardless.

Also, what about characters that fans create to replace Frisk? Or when a fan makes it so Frisk was an adult from the very beginning? In such a situation, Frisk might as well be a different character that's just using the name 'Frisk.'

I'm just saying. Don't try to limit the fandom's creativity. Some truly amazing stories & aus have come out because fans were able to personalize Frisk as a character they could use. And those stories wouldn't have been as good or had the same plot points if they conformed strictly to canon.

Also, even if Frisk is nb, all that is is pronouns, which are subjective by nature of design according to the current woke culture of today. Despite what some might want you to think, nbs do still conform to a binary, just not a gender binary. It's the biological sex binary.

You see, gender is a social construct & is therefore malleable according to some. However, if that is the case, then sex is a biological construct & is thusly concrete & can’t be changed regardless of gender identity or transaction due to it literally being written in your chromosomes. It is something you develop even before birth & when you die, hundreds of years from now, when people dig your bones up, guess what, they’re gonna look at those bones & analyze what dna is left & you’ll still be the sex you were born as.

As such, you can be nb & also be female or male because that's how human, & mammalian biology in-general, works.

Thing is, because Fox is so consistent with making Frisk, Chara, & Kris all theys, we have zero clue as to their canon biological sexes if he even gave them any (unless they're literally just supposed to be living mannequins under there) & that allows fans the freedom of choosing their sex & still have nb gender pronouns. So, that doesn't go against canon at all.

Welp, just read the translations of the summaries of the upcoming episodes of Yashahime. The only thing that it does is further confirm that Naraku was the real hero of the original series, because his victory would have prevented Yashahime from existing. Sure, it would have been sad to see Inuyasha’s group die at the end, but at least they would have found peace in the afterlife and Pedomaru would be rotting in hell like he deserves. 

Like seriously, Naraku did a lot of bad things in his life, but at least HE didn’t sexually abuse the children in his care. The bar is so low that even the murderous spider incel can clear it from hell, and Pedomaru can’t. In fact, Pedomaru also succeeded at ruining everyone’s lives, especially Inuyasha’s and Kagome’s, and caused greater suffering in less than 20 episodes than Naraku did in more than 200. So, really, who’s the real villain here? Not Naraku, that’s for sure. 

Good thing Yashahime is and always has been a badly written and badly drawn animated fanfiction depicting the pedophilic fantasies of that one pervert at Sunrise that thought it was perfectly fine to have adults propose to 11 year old girls. 11 year old girls that one adult had been raising since she was 8. Because what could be better than to groom I mean Raise your very own childbride GF to be perfectly submissive little angel who knows her place and would never ever defy her lord and husband??? Why, yes, having her give birth at 15 and then fall into a coma!!!! 

Anyway, Yashahime and everyone involved in this shitshow’s production are absolutely disgusting and I will not be acknowledging it as canon. Good thing the Inuyasha anime ended in 2010 with the Final Act, that the main characters had happy endings that didn’t butcher their characterizations, and that none of them were pedophiles!

I truly feel bad for the Sesshomaru fans that had to see their favorite character dragged through the mud and turned into someone who would sexually abuse and impregnate his preteen ward, because his image as a character who started out cold and unfeeling but slowly learned to care about others and protected vulnerable children even when it didn’t benefit him in any way has been destroyed by Yashahime. 

Sessrinners can go fuck themselves, though, you’ve always been disgusting and will always be, and the fact that an anime-only sequel has your shitty ass, self-insert pedoship in it doesn’t make YOU any less revolting for shipping an 8 year old girl with her adult guardian, and seeing their innocent interactions as romantic moments that would turn into a romantic/sexual relationship as soon as her age had double digits in it. On this planet, we call those things child grooming, child marriage and statutory rape. 

In fact, Yashahime has done a very good job at removing all the trappings sessrinners liked to use in their self-insert headcanons and fanfictions in order to justify the ship (adult Rin! she has grown up into an independent adult and has developed her own personality away from Sesshomaru! She’s feisty and competent and can stand on an even ground with him! He respects her, allows her to make her own decisions and cares for her wellbeing!) leaving us with the bare and horrific truth: 

That Rin was a young teenager when her adult guardian (whom she hero-worshipped after he saved and protected her during her childhood) started a sexual relationship with her, got her pregnant, took the resulting children away without letting her make any decisions about their future or even hold them, abandoned the babies in a forest, didn’t give a shit when they almost died and disappeared for 10 years, and didn’t care to fix Rin’s “illness” that left her in a magical coma soon after he took their children. Rin has never had autonomy, agency, or the time/ability to grow into her own person, and was used as a babymaker by her adult guardian and then discarded after she was done birthing his children. 

If anything, the entirety of Yashahime is a whole-ass Anti-Sessrin manifesto that shows very well how horrifically unbalanced and abusive a romantic relationship between Sesshomaru and Rin would be.

I’m an ex sessrin shipper and I hate to call it that. I have enjoyed some sessrin content that is heavily vetted before I read it is more accurate (Au CD etc). I’ve been in this fandom since the early 2000’s and let me tell you if you go looking through that sessrin fics and art you don’t even have to go to the second page before you hit something that will make you regret having eyes. So when they say adult! That’s a lie.

Anyway the things I’ve seen posted today... horrific.

But the one that got me was someone saying ‘15/16 would have LEGALLY been an adult back then. So she was legally an adult and it’s fine.”

Bruh. First of all the concept of “legal” adult hood is pretty new. And “back then” women were seen as property because misogyny. So miss me with legalities unless you can point me to the case law and or statutes.

But in this last episode that girl was 13 and married, they said.

Wut? Did we watch very different things? She was MORTIFIED that men where @ her when she turned 13. She was kidnapped. Said multiple times she wasn’t his wife. Contracted bounty hunters to kill him. Like, that wasn’t proof of 13 being a good age to get married. It wasn’t a romance.

Why would anyone want their ship to be canon of the terms are so rife with misogyny, grooming behavior, and just general problematic framing?

Greetings nonny and WELCOME! I appreciate your stance as having previous experience with this ship, and I can relate because I too enjoyed fics of a VERY SIMILAR pairing (and hell even still do sometimes). But also like you under very specific circumstances (AU, time shenanigans, universe hopping, etc. Let’s just say the fandom my problematic fave is from is VERY well known for its AU lol.)

If there is one thing I’ve been extremely firm on from the very beginning it’s that fans NEED to separate their headcanon, and fan interpretation from the canon material. I don’t think there is anything wrong with interpreting characters differently from other fans, and writing your own fanfiction based on those interpretations, but being extremely, OBNOXIOUSLY vocal about those views becoming canon is an entirely different story. ESPECIALLY when the canon material is media that is marketed for children!

Arguments about what was “Normal” or “Legal” for the time (as wrong as their ideas of this may even be) are COMPLETELY MOOT when we are talking about a children’s show.

What would ‘Mulan’, ‘Hercules’, ‘Beauty and the Beast’, ‘Cinderella’, etc look like if the writers included “problematic themes” just because they were historically accurate? (Spoiler alert: parents wouldn’t take their kids to see them at the very least.)

I am all for letting people ship what they want, but there are two VERY IMPORTANT caveats to this creed: 1) That doesn’t mean shippers should DEMAND that their ships be validated. (Hell it’s super annoying when shippers do this even with the “vanilla” ships, like stop, let the creators write what they want, you’ve obviously liked their work enough so far to get so worked up about it, let them keep doing their damn jobs!) And 2) If your ship contains problematic material you need to be DAMN sure you are tagging your works properly, hiding it under a read more, giving adequate and VISIBLE content warnings, and most of all if it’s from a media that is marketed for children, and thus has a very large child audience, needs to NOT be in the main tags of that fandom.

Wanted to ask about beetlelyds, sorry, I thought it was technically cannon? Like in the old comics after the show ended she grew up and married him. first of all the biggest issue faced in the whole what is and is not canon debate is the fact that there are three (four if you count the limited comics run) publicized iterations of my media

i will go over each very briefly just kidding this is going to a long answer so i will spare the dashboard with a readmore

there is the movie which im sure you dont need me to explain the plot since youre an old school fan but basically the climax is that yes beetlejuice does go for the marriage angle in exchange for stopping the exorcism of adam and barbara and his motive for this is so that he can cause as much chaos as he wants on the mortal coil but his plan is thwarted when barbara rides a sandworm into the house which promptly eats beetlejuice sending him to bureaucratic death limbo

the end of the movie features the deetz and the maitlands happily living together with lydia havign a new appreciation for her situation and beetlejuice gets his head made real small which is very funny haha 

so no in the movie they are not canon editors note the actress who played lydia winona ryder was a teenager while filming the movie she turned 17 the year it released 

the next is the cartoon which i will admit has the most grounds for being considered canon but in the end the show is about a middle schooler and her best friend who is a ghost which in itself is a pretty iffy gray area sort of thing but for a childrens cartoon to work a friendship is better than the obvious enemy status they held in the movie

anyway in the cartoon they are potrayed to be very close friends with lydia being the person beetlejuice cares about the most and honestly if you were to watch it with no prior knowledge of the media and if you ignored their massive and obvious age difference than yeah you probably would read it as a romantic relationship 

however lydia is a middle schooler and that is simply immoral

there have been writers for the cartoon who have been credited to say that a relationship is what they were trying to invoke but for obvious reasons they couldnt exactly move forward with that angle with them establishing that lydia is a child in middle school and a fully grown adult man dating a child who is in middle school is immoral and also illegal in the united states and in canada 

this isnt a good argument for whether or not something is canon and i will tell you why with one simple name and that is luke weber

if you dont know who luke weber is he was a storyboard artist on the cartoon steven universe he is known for making a lot of self ship artwork of him and the character pearl

he worked on the show isnt his material canon no of course it isnt it wasnt put in the actual publication and also if memory serves he was eventually asked to leave the project after he drew art of the shows creator giving him permission to date pearl and calling them her otp and a lot of fans hated this because the most generally accepted interpretation of pearls character is that she is sapphic so a lot of people took issue however that again is just a widely perceived headcanon it is never stated what her actual sexuality is no one in that show is because it isnt a show about that its about wait im getting off topic sorry

what im saying is what can truly be considered canon is what you see on the screen and with the cartoon they are definitely the most friendly with each other and that is why so many people in the beetlebabe shipping community take so much stock in the cartoon because it is the easiest to read the relationship between the mas romantic although that is not what the show actually provides in black and white terms

interpretation does not equal canon and in this case no matter what anyone says the fact remains that in the cartoon itself they are friends good friends yes but friends all the same

it is definitely not a show about a grown man grooming an adult and if it were you definitely shouldn’t be stanning it the extreme because grooming a minor is wrong and it is apparently a problem in the fandom

anyway if the cartoon and the movie are both products of their time and there was more leniency on content bear in mind this was the same era as notorious animation powerhouse and known predator john k who was a showrunner on ren and stimpy and he maintained a relationship with a teenager which was an open secret that nobody really took issue with because in that time being a woman in the animation industry was tricky business and your career could be ended easily if you rejected advances luckily time has moved forward and the animation industry although still full of problems of a similar nature at least people are getting called out and punished for it

as for comics i havent been able to find good scans of them and im not willing to purchase them but in my search i never found anything about the two of them ever being married in the cartoon again because she is a child i did find a cover where he appears to be getting married and hes asking lydia to get him out of it but im not sure where the comic actually goes all i know is she is standing off to the side shrugging and looking like she doesnt really care

anyway that brings us to the musical which is set in the modern day 

in the original libretto lydia is described as thirteen but since they got an actress who was older in the updated librettos she is listed as 15 and the story is pretty similar to the movie the young girl befriends ghosts and they try to scare her family out etc etc

the major difference between the film and the musical are that lydia and beetlejuice are more like friends like in the cartoon 

she summons him to help scare after the maitlands attempt doesnt really work so he shows up and they have fun terrorizing people together however she drops him for the opportunity to perhaps get her mom back but when no one will help she goes back to beetlejuice who tricks her into almost exorcising barbara

she agrees to marry him in order to stop the exorcism and he only wants to get married so he can be alive again and cause problems on the mortal coil like in the movie in the musical he states several times its a green card thing whihc obviously doesnt make it okay but still

anyway lydia tricks him and runs off into the underworld before the wedding can happen blah blah blah she goes back blah blah and she agrees to go through with the wedding to save her friends and family with a plan to make him go away for good

theres a very tongue and cheek song called creepy old guy which points out how wrong the whole thing is but everyone is going along with it in a very comedic matter and it includes the line 

i cant believe some cultures think this kind of things alright

basically saying yeah this is very very wrong anyway they do get married and beeltjeuice is alive for like 6 seconds before lydia stabs him to death with bad art and he dies thus nullifying the marriage because death do you part etc

so in the musical no at the end of the show they are not canon because he is dead their marriage is nullified and they go their separate ways

anyway sorry about that i just need to make it very clear that these three properties are all very distinct from each other and basically all three are indeed canon since they are publicized material and arguing the validity of which one is pointless editors note all actresses who played with the exception of dana steingold were minors for the majority of their runs as lydia with sophia ann caruso the originator of the role turning 18 during the run and dana being in her late twenties presley ryan however was a minor the whole time and still is one

tldr no they aren’t canon but to the credit of some people in this fandom their interpretation isnt too far of a stretch thanks to the era and some of the writers wishing to imply a relationship between an adult and a child

i also need to address how this is all a big deal and i suggest you take a peak through my discourse tag and check out @leedia‘s blog to see some of the more harmful things done by beetlebabe shippers

the beetlejuice fandom is home to many minors after the musical came out since musical fandom is vast and the ages of its members varies and normalizing pedophilia is harmful to them not to mention the people who have been effected by sexual harassment at the hands of adults

both sides have victims of csa but one side continues to perpetuate the cycle by showing time and time again that this behavior is normal and easily romanticized in the name of coping and literally anyone who has ever been to a good and credible therapist could tell you that posting cp even if it is simulated cp isnt a really good way to cope and you can get mad at me for saying that its totally fine but and im going to remove my character veil here for just a second as a csa survivor myself i think its harmful to not only myself but many others ok the veil is back down

STUDY  :  HAKUDOSHI

۝  BASICS

IS YOUR MUSE TALL  /  SHORT  /  AVERAGE? SHORT. Out of all the children presented in the Inuyasha series, Hakudoshi is probably one of the shortest characters I headcanon he is about 4′3″ / 130 cm which funny enough is also Rin’s non-official height. Even in verses where he grows up, I don’t see him being very tall, as an adult and comparing him to Naraku (who is officially stated to be 5′11″ / 181 cm) I would say Hakudoshi probably would probably barely reach Naraku’s shoulder. Using a height comparison that means as an adult he would be around 4′10″ / 148 cm.

ARE THEY OKAY WITH THEIR HEIGHT? No he is not, especially because many people often joke around with his height, he might not outright express it but he is very annoyed with those. That’s partially why Hakudoshi is quick to attack, because his height often makes him look quite harmless and while sometimes he may use it to his advantage most of the time he doesn’t as a way to show his position.

WHAT’S THEIR HAIR LIKE? His hair is always long, loose and down to the middle of his back, its color is white with a small tint of a rose color; during nighttime or in places with not so much light source his hair appears to gain a greyish purple tone (quite a contrast to his normal hair color). Hakudoshi has scraggly bangs framing his face. In the Modern Days Verse, his hair is much shorter but still scraggly and black in color.

DO THEY SPEND A LOT OF TIME ON THEIR HAIR  /  GROOMING? Not really. He is fine with how his hair looks, barely giving it a quick brush with his hand just to untangle some parts of it after waking up. In the rare times he actually ties it (only in situations were the hair would clearly get in the way), it’s placed in a low, fastened and messy ponytail tied with a white ribbon.

DOES YOUR MUSE CARE ABOUT THEIR APPEARANCE  /  WHAT OTHERS THINK? In general, Hakudoshi just cares the most about his clothes, his demand is that the outfit is made of fine fabric and preferably in white and despite him not minding getting his hands dirty in the jobs he can’t stand seeing blood on his clothes. He also doesn’t really care what others think of his appearance. In the Modern Days Verse, he cares a bit more about his appearance but that is only because of his family’s important status in the city.

۝  QUESTIONNAIRE 

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR MUSE’S BAD HABITS? Oh dear, where to start. Hakudoshi has the bad habit of being quite nasty, insensitive, cruel and manipulative especially to others he considers to be below himself (Kagura is a perfect example of that treatment). Though he changes quite a lot after his rebirth, before all that he is not friendly at all and does whatever he wants, how he wants and when he wants not caring about who he may hurt in process.

HAS YOUR MUSE LOST ANYONE CLOSE TO THEM? HOW HAS IT AFFECTED THEM? This question is more applicable to his AU verses. 

In the Modern Days Verse, Hakudoshi lost his mother not physically but because of the divorce between his parents, his father used all the dirty methods he had to ensure his ex-wife wouldn’t get the custody of their son and even forbade Hakudoshi from seeing his mother ever again, keeping tabs on him through the several bodyguards he hired. Hakudoshi was already a quiet and reserved child before the divorce but he would smile and laugh especially if his mother was around, thus after the divorce and the custody situation, the smiles and laughs just outright ceased from existence, he became colder towards others, unfriendly, not easy to approach and stopped believing happiness is just a blatant lie people tell to each other and to themselves. 

In the Demon Mage Verse (Fairy Tail AU), Hakudoshi was separated from his twin brother (Akago) after he hid him on a safe spot to prevent Akago from being captured by the Zeref following cult. In return, Hakudoshi was the one captured and taken to the Tower of Heaven as a slave to build it and once he escaped he made it his mission to find his brother no matter the cost. The situation itself didn’t affect much Hakudoshi’s personality but I would say he feels more lonely because his brother was the only one who truly understood him.

In the Midnight Fangs Verse, Hakudoshi lost his parents and younger brother at...his own hands. After being turned into a vampire, he wanted to quench his thirst no matter what and ended up slaughtering his whole family before snapping back to his senses. When he realized what he had done, he instantly regretted it but there was nothing he could do to save any of them; this made him become distant towards other people (mostly out of fear so to not hurt them) and seeking revenge by trying to find the one who had turned him into this hideous monster.

WHAT ARE SOME FOND MEMORIES YOUR MUSE HAS? Applies to several Canon Divergent and AU verses.

In the Wayward Divergence Verse, Hakudoshi eventually creates fond memories of his travels with Sesshomaru’s group, mostly with the interactions between himself, Rin and Jaken -especially if it included messing around with Jaken-, this was because while he still had the mission to defeat his creator, he was able to be the child he actually appears to be and not just a bloody warrior in the body of a child.

In the White Bell Verse, it’s almost the same as above but with Kikyo instead, for the first time in his whole -albeit short- life, Hakudoshi experiences how it is to be cared for, to be loved and to love in return, he feels all this towards the mother figure Kikyo becomes to him and doesn’t want to let go of that sensation. Hence why he is so promptly ready to do anything to keep her alive and out of Naraku’s reach.

In the Son of the Phoenix Verse, it’s almost a mixture between the two above, in this verse he has a big and loving family who love him for who he is not caring where he came from. He has a special adoration towards his mother, Mulan, who protects and soothes every fear out of him -especially when Naraku haunts his dreams- but is also fierce and trains him personally. Hakudoshi is trained to be the fierce warrior he was created to be but is also extremely loved.

In the Post Rebirth Verse, though he has now recovered all of his memories regarding who he used to be and what he used to do, Hakudoshi creates little by little fond memories whenever he has the chance to interact with Kohaku or any of the new generation (Moroha, Setsuna, Hisui), though he is awfully fierce with them whenever he is requested to come and help with the training and though he doesn’t show it on the outside, he actually has grown to care about them.

Last but not least, in the Modern Days Verse, most of Hakudoshi’s fond memories are with his mother as she was always a big influence on how he was shaped, had him been solely raised by his father he would have become quite difference but the care and love of his mother has made him into a more caring child even if that is often hidden after she was forced out of his life. Hakudoshi eventually uses this to slowly open up to other people, with whom he eventually becomes friends with.

IS IT EASY FOR YOUR MUSE TO KILL? Extremely easy, especially on his Main Verse, where he was basically created to be a ruthless killing machine. He has no qualms about slicing someone else’s throat open, the head or the throat is where he mostly aims for.

WHAT’S IT LIKE WHEN YOUR MUSE BREAKS DOWN? He rarely breaks down, in the canon world that would only be possible in verses where he drifts away from Naraku or after his rebirth. When that does happen, he prefers to be completely alone, he kicks stuff around, rarely punches and doesn’t scream. Then he just curls in a corner, hides his face from others and doesn’t speak for a long time. All in all he tries to keep the appearance of a tough demon despite his childish look but even the toughest demons break down eventually.

IS YOUR MUSE CAPABLE OF TRUSTING SOMEONE WITH THEIR LIFE? In the canon world, no, that won’t ever happen. Perhaps bend a little the rule after his rebirth and making an exception for Kohaku, whom he owns his life after those events, but as of something general no.

In Canon Divergent verses, I would say that only applies to his parent figures (Sesshomaru, Kikyo, Mulan).

WHAT’S YOUR MUSE LIKE WHEN THEY’RE IN LOVE? Hakudoshi doesn’t know how to express love, it’s just hard for him given his origins. I would say he would only falls in love with someone he is extremely close to and even then he won’t outright admit he is in love, he admits he cares about them but won’t say out loud that he loves them unless in private.

In public, it would be small and quiet shows of affection and not for everyone to see: a small brush on the significant other’s cheek, a soft smile, a quiet and quick hold of hands and deep look in the eyes. In short, when he loves someone he actually loves them but isn’t very open or obvious about it, if someone on the outside were to notice they would probably only know if they saw him and the significant other together all the time and if they saw him smile at the person in question.

Hey, Rad... Alex... Alexlememe? I know that's the name you used to go by and I know you've kinda disconnected yourself from Viv's fanbase after ZP ended, and I remember your memes and such but I kinda just wanted to get your take on the Hazbin drama since you reblogged the headcanon blog's post on the subject. More or less regarding the issue of her being uncharitable to fans and non-fans alike, plus that one callout post on twitter?

So this is weird. I wasn’t expecting to get asks on the subject since like you said, I’ve generally been disconnected from the fanbase aside from the few reblogs here and there retaining to Hazbin and its more recent developments. But yeah I guess I could give my take on this since I mean.. old fans still follow me. Idk why, but they do!So, really. In regards to that callout post (which is now deleted) I really, really don’t care that much. For one thing, Initially I did because I really hated to see someone be slandered so viciously with inaccurate and uncharitable attacks, but I kinda just stopped because even when I linked the addresses from both Viv, and the Ken dude regarding all the drama mentioned, it was either ignored and resulting in me being called a “pedo sympathizer” or “It wasn’t even an apologyyyyy weh” and like, whatever. I stopped giving a shit.

Terms of the traced animation thing... Lol, ok. I mean homages do exist, and her animation thingy was based on a meme so whatevs.

Anyways,I knew from the very start that the whole “tracing” and “stealing designs” stuff was nonsense since there was an entire like, tumblr drama arc on the issue, and albeit Viv’s post is gone, there’s evidence of legal contracts regarding Jiji and that whole nonsense that was years ago. In regards to her drawing pictures of Blaire White and Shoe… Eh. I mean, yeah, fuck em, but she’s made it clear that she doesn’t support those views anymore, and she wasn’t even really aware of the other things they’d done at that point, and I see no real reason not to believe her because what does lying about that gain her? Yeah her comment on the “blackface” thing if you wanna call it that was dumb as shit, but considering 2016 was a rough year for her in terms of trying to find where she fell in the political sphere, I can relate because I was in the same boat. A lot of sjw cringe comps, shaming feminists, and purposely misgendering transpeople… Not a good time for me either! Course I’ve changed. I went from being a reactionary alt-centrist to an anarchist so. Whether that’s an improvement is up to you.

As for the whole pedo/zoo shit, I really don’t see it. I mean like, look, obviously porn art portraying people fucking feral animals is disgusting right. Not saying it isn’t problematic or anything, but to be fair, she did draw this shit like 8 years ago. I’ve seen worse from even more well-established artists and I don’t see people trying to cancel them? Also, the art was suggestive for one thing and not necessarily 100% porn. I mean it’s still creepy and gross, and I’d understand scolding them if they continued to do so but a lot worse, but I haven’t seen anything like that from Viv past those 2 drawings. As for the pedo shit… The relationship between a 17 year old and a 19 year old is… hardly creepy and reminiscent of pedo shit. So yeah no fuck that. Now with the drawing of Mirage and Kestrel and the tag that said something jokingly like “Mirage and her pedo tendencies” or whatever… Yeah idk, I can’t defend that lmfao. Again, Viv said she disapproves of those drawings and doesn’t care to think about them, but that one piece of artwork definitely had some baggage to it that made me feel uncomfortable after reading the tags.Only issue I took in terms of her addressing that, is that she was very adamant about it being an inside joke… Which if that’s true, you must’ve had some fucked up friends like damn.

I would also like to state that cub art is legitimately disgusting and I am of the belief that it can cause harm depending on the context since I assume the consumption of cub art can reinforce the urge for pedophiles to act on their desires instead of finding healthy coping mechanisms for it through therapy. There have been stories from younger users on the internet that older people have tried to groom them and have the notion of pedos preying on them be normalized by sending them art depicting kids in sexual acts with adults. Of course in isolation cub art isn’t as harmful as the actual act of raping a child, and I would argue that people have their priorities kind of messed up since the illustration being acknowledged should be part of combating pedophiles preying on children. However, people, typically twitter wokescolds tend to focus on the art solely and I don’t know why. There’s a lot of MAPS trying to find their way into LGBT spaces and it’s fucking gross.

Now with Hazbin itself… It’s meh. Initially I watched it with rose-tinted glasses and loved it. After watching it for like… the 3rd, 4th, 5th time? It’s alright. I don’t hate it, but it’s far from perfect. Now ofc I know it’s a pilot but a very lengthy pilot I’ll say. My biggest gripe with the pilot is that the editing is really fucking weird. Like the editing where Angel tells Alastor “I can suck yah dick!” and the scene that followed was really off. It seemed like too many cuts were made in that instance and seemed very cluttered. It also feels that way during Charlie singing “Inside Every Demon is a Rainbow” and how many little animated bits were like almost wiped off the screen by how fast it came by, and ntm there was just so much happening all at once on screen as well. I had to pause at points just to process everything that was happening. The palette is also very, very, verrrry red. There’s so much red going on and like… I get it, it’s in hell. But lemme rest my eyes on something else besides red, please. The palette they use needs to be better diversified, and the same goes for the characters too. Every character seems to have red on them. Whenever Baxter shows up later he’s gonna look really out of place. Some of the jokes were ok, and others seemed non-clever. I didn’t think Angel’s joke about sucking Al’s dick was funny. I did like the joke with Pentious and Angel though. “SON??” Some of it could’ve been written better too.

Regarding the drama with the show itself… Personally I don’t get it. Like, I don’t feel as if Angel is homophobic as a character since his queerness isn’t at the face of the jokes he makes? He just happens to be sex worker which… sex workers are fine? Support sex workers y’all, seriously. There’s also nothing intrinsically wrong with being sexually active either? As long as it’s within reason and you’re being trustworthy.The issue lies in the fact that people viewed the things I just mentioned as negative, and associate it with gay people as said negatively portrayed thing to push the sentiment of “Gay man do sex a lot therefore the gays bad” or that sort of thing. Also there’s a bit where it shows there’s more emotional depth to him and I’m hoping they’ll expand on that later. Honestly though, the criticisms in regards to that have been pretty uncharitable. Same with the criticisms for Vaggie. Apparently Vaggie is racist because… she’s loud and angry? Again, this is a case where people assume those traits are negative, and because it’s assumed to be negative, the negatively portrayed thing pushes the sentiment of “Being a loud fiery woman made, and latina women are that, therefore latina women bad” or some shit.  There are stereotypes that are bad no matter what the context is like sambo-esque caricatures of black people. Then there are tropes that are applied to certain demographics that have the capability to be written well into characters without it being offensive or disrespectful. Vaggie is literally angry because she’s protective of her gf. Like. C’mon.

So, I think that settles what I think about that? It honestly seems like superficial shit to me tbh, and I’m saying this as an sjw-y beta cuck anarchist.

The only REAL gripe I have, is with what the mod from @zpheadcanons posted. Because I know this is probably true as much as it hurts me to say it. Faust def has a history of being pretty petty and bully-like to people she deems undesirable, and Viv harbors it by not criticizing it, and if anyone else within their friend group does it then you’re scolded vehemently and treated like garbage. Her attitude also stretches to harboring an audience full of white knights that I personally don’t approve of.

If you don’t make an effort to criticize abusive behavior within your own friend circles then that makes you just as bad, because then you’re just a bystander to things you could have prevented.

This isn’t to say Viv herself hasn’t dealt with bad faith actors, or people who had the intention to hurt her, or very uncharitable criticism. Particularly from the badwebcomics forums which is honestly 4chan like in how they operate. It’s vicious as hell, and a lot of their criticisms boil down to insults and personal attacks, which serve to be nonconstructive. That’s not to say Viv has been kind to even the more charitable criticism though. I know because when I happened to send an ask to the zoophobia criticism blog (where did it go???) regarding something relatively minor and superficial, she blocked me from her blog. I’m still blocked lmfao. I’m not blocked on twitter though! (not yet anyways). Faust has me blocked there though, and I have no idea why. She’s had me blocked for years even though I haven’t spoken out against her till recently. So, there’s that.

As for her apology itself, I feel like it was fine. I think it could’ve been worded better? The take I disagree with in terms of that is like… If I made a mistake in the past, and I make it clear that I don’t care for what I did, I don’t feel as if me explaining why I felt compelled to do certain things negate me from still not caring for my past actions? That’s just me providing context. That’s a really weird take, but I guess that could be viewed as an excuse idk. Personally I think people are holding the bar super high to a state of irrationality.

*sigh* So yeah there’s that. I miss the old days where honestly I could be ignorant about this, but at the same time I look at my old obsessive posts and I kinda just… cringe. I was such an irrational stan I almost hate myself for it. Fuck XD

Edit: I’d also like to point out that I’m not saying Viv or Faust are totally awful or totally good people, and I know they’re capable of being better. It’s a matter of whether or not they wanna be better.

i don’t think kyouka and chuuya had a lot of time to get to know each other since kyouka was only in the mafia for 6 months and chuuya seems to have been away from town a lot until dazai came back / she defected. however i like to think that chuuya must’ve been as nice to her as he could when they did cross paths, since he’s always kind to his coworkers and subordinates. kyouka reminds me of dazai a lot and i like thinking that chuuya must’ve picked up on their similarities as well and be worried about her well-being even if he wasn’t around a lot. the sad thing is that kyouka probably still fears him, since she’s scared of everyone in the mafia.

as for them and kouyou, i can’t be sure since we barely see any of chuuya and kouyou’s relationship in canon. they seem to be pretty evenly matched and to respect and value each other & that’s definitely not the feeling i get between kouyou and kyouka. kouyou alongside akutagawa is one person who served to terrorize kyouka and groom her into being a killer even tho she’s just a child and she doesn’t want it at all; kouyou obviously cares and worries about her but 1) she’s kyouka’s abuser and kyouka and atsushi explicitly see her as such 2) she’s projecting her own life and fears onto her bc kyouka reminds her so much of herself. i can’t imagine that kouyou’s relationship with chuuya when he was a kid was exactly the same, since chuuya seems very comfortable with what he does and who he is + his temper and ability are different. 

for sure kouyou played a part in grooming him for violence too (he WAS only a child) but either chuuya lives fine with that trauma or he’s decided that he doesn’t resent her for it. also kouyou is only 4 years older than him, which would’ve made her a child too when they met, whereas she’s 12 years older than kyouka—here she is 100% the adult and 100% responsible for her actions. 

i think what’s interesting is how dazai approaches the kouyou-kyouka situation when kouyou is held hostage by the agency. he offers a way to ensure kyouka’s safety (the most important thing for kouyou) while at the same time making sure that kouyou doesn’t interact with her anymore. it’s pretty obvious that kouyou wants kyouka to be happy and away from violence but she also doesn’t believe that it can be done because she’s been so traumatized by the experience of trying to get away herself. 

so here we have two characters who wanted to defect, one who was dragged back despite the help she had and who was probably punished horribly for the attempt (kouyou), one who managed it but who did it impulsively, entirely alone and without support (dazai), and they’re both coming together to make sure that the third (kyouka) not only does it but also does it with a support system. bsd has a lot of abusive characters who try in their own ways to break the cycle, and dazai is the obvious poster child for that, but kouyou also does it wrt kyouka. she’s manipulated and terrorized her but given the first safe opportunity to change that she puts kyouka’s happiness first. i like that about kouyou.

anyway i went on a tangent but i like the dazai-kouyou-kyouka similarities & i like that dazai/kouyou/akutagawa are abusive characters who were abused themselves and who eventually try to change their own ways. i like putting them opposite atsushi/kyouka (and maybe chuuya?) who are abused characters who don’t fall down the “becoming an abuser myself” path at all... that’s extrapolating a little but. can’t deny that abuse is a very strong theme in bsd.

[ISEB Author’s Note: This headcanon occurred to me in the midst of working on several other fics I’ve promised to people, and would positively not be ignored until I’d written the words out on paper. In that regard, I apologize for interrupting my regularly scheduled Asks in favor of my own personal drabbles; my responses to your prompts will resume shortly.]

Considering he’s known Noctis longer than any of the other Chocobros, we know painfully little about Ignis Scientia’s life prior to the opening of Final Fantasy XV; I did happen to catch the strategist’s episode of Brotherhood, but even that source was scant on the details. So I thought I’d come up with my own little backstory of Specs, complete with insight into the nature and dynamic of his relationship to the crown prince; he’s not quite the BFF that Prompto is, nor is he precisely a mentor like Gladio, but the dialogue I encountered between Ignis and Noct throughout the game really cemented his status (in my mind) as arguably the most influential of the Crownsguard. I do hope you enjoy this imagining, and feel free to appropriate it into your own headcanon as you see fit!

On days when the weight of the world feels particularly heavy on his shoulders, and the distant memory of simpler times stirs within him old feelings of nostalgia, the strategist presses his fingers to the glass of a picture frame he keeps stored on a dusty bookshelf in his apartment. Other than the clothes on his back, the photograph was the only other personal effect he had brought with him on the road to Altissia all those years ago, and he had taken painstaking care not to lose it as he traveled from Insomnia to Nifleim and everywhere in between.

He can’t actually see the image, of course, but when he traces his fingertips along the smooth surface, Ignis is able to recall to mind in near-perfect detail the faces of the youths displayed within. Prompto Argentum, his feathery blond hair mimicking that of the domesticated chocobos he held so dear; Gladiolus Amicitia, when only one vertical scar adorned his face; and Noctis Lucis Caelem, his king, his majesty, his oldest friend, back before he was called upon by the Six to defeat the starscourge and was lost to the ages entirely.

It was never the intent of the Scientia family for Ignis to be groomed as a royal steward and counselor to the crown prince—at least, not at first. Noctis had lost his mother as an infant, and Regis had grown concerned with his young son’s increasingly introverted nature that he thought perhaps introducing him to a playmate near his own age might help to bring him out of his shell. The future strategist was an only child himself, and happened to have an uncle in direct service to the king, so a six-year-old Ignis was invited to spend a summer at the Citadel as glorified entertainment to a toddler.

He remembers Noct as a sweet boy; quiet and shy, but remarkably astute for his age. He had an active imagination, as evident by the numerous toys and building blocks he transformed into fantastical settings daily, and was eager to immerse himself in the fairytales of the books Ignis brought with him from the north, but only if his new companion would agree to do the reading for him. That was fine by Ignis; wooden swords and play fighting more rambunctious children tended to gravitate toward appealed little to his intellect, but he could spend hours with his nose buried in the pages of his favorite stories and never get bored in the slightest.

And so those hours turned into days, and the days eventually stretched out into weeks; when the weather was favorable, the two often sat out under a tree just beyond the palace inventing their own fables, until the late afternoon gave way to early twilight. If a squall happened to pass over the crown city, they were content to barricade themselves beneath a blanket fort and pretend to be the reigning king of Lucis and his most loyal Kingsglaive. The timid child he had met at the onset of their accord gave way to a much more articulate character, and although Ignis could’ve sworn the summer had just begun—the mind plays tricks on a memory—his time at the Citadel was soon over, and he received word that his parents were on their way to fetch their only son.

But his parents never made it to Crown City, because their vehicle was found mangled beyond all recognition on the road leading to Insomnia, its passengers deceased long before emergency assistance could be provided. Some said it was simply a misfortunate but commonly occurring automobile accident; others whispered that since the wreck was discovered outside the safety of the city’s walls, perhaps a daemon—rare as they were east of Leide—might’ve been to blame for the catastrophe. Regardless of the true factors at play, Ignis suddenly found himself orphaned and alone, the prospects of his future uncertain.

The strategist takes pride in remembering the important milestones of his life, but admittedly that particular period remains rather hazy in his mind. It was, however, the only time he can recall ever openly weeping in front of Noctis; Ignis’ elated smiles while celebrating the prince’s fourth birthday not a week prior turned to tears of sorrow on his face in an instant. “It’ll be okay,” Noct had said to him, not older than a babe himself. “My mom died, too.”

Something changed within Ignis that day; he began to compartmentalize the more whimsical facets of his personality, his newfound stoicism shaping the seriousness that eventually defined his mannerism as an adult. Regis must have taken note of his abrupt shift in priorities—in addition to the positive influence the younger Scientia had over his son—because he proposed the opportunity to turn his tragedy into prosperity by offering to appoint Ignis as personal advisor to the heir apparent.

In hindsight, the idea of pledging his service to the crown was an awfully weighty decision to impart onto the shoulders of a juvenile, and the strategist isn’t quite sure if he was the lifelong companion Noctis even wanted. But he was almost certainly the one the prince needed, and the fate of his own parents was regrettably out of his hands, so he mitigated his grief by focusing his attention on the few variables he could control; charming as he was, Noct could be downright insolent when forced into doing something he didn’t want to do—eating his vegetables was a particular source of disagreement—and it seemed like only Ignis could hold fast against his stubbornness at times.

As the years passed, and he grew more accustomed to life at the Citadel, Ignis found himself in the role of not only counterpart and tutor to the heir of Lucis, but also custodian and sometime surrogate parent. Regis’ duty to his people kept him away from his son more often than not, and few others within the palace knew how to distract the prince from his separation anxiety toward his absentee father long enough for his tears to dry; learning to bake was a rather menial task for someone of Ignis’ shrewd acumen, but the cupcakes he managed not to burn put a smile on Noct’s face nonetheless.

As is to be expected, the experiences one is exposed to in life inevitably changes them; Noctis spent several months recovering in Tenebrae after an unfortunate encounter with a daemon, and upon his return the strategist noticed the beginnings of a brooding melancholy that would later be the prince’s most distinguishing facet. Ignis himself was fielding his own growing pains, as he found that the longing to reach out with empathy to his friend was in direct conflict with the sternness necessary to become an effective advisor. The hours they spent together as children reading fairytales and fables now comprised mostly of pouring over schoolwork and textbooks—the very last thing that appealed to Noct when his mind was on a place and a girl thousands of miles away—and the prince’s growing ennui toward his royal status and the palace at large only served to loosen the ties that once bound them so closely.

Perhaps there is simply something about living in close quarters with a person day in and day out for many years that results in one inevitably taking the other for granted; Noctis was as near and dear to Ignis as a brother, yet at times it felt they were as far apart as strangers. It didn’t help that the strategist’s well-intentioned but admittedly persistent prodding seemed only to drive the prince further away from him and into the company of newer, less authoritative friends; Ignis surmises that it made sense for Noct to want to surround himself with the likes of Prompto and Gladio, who were arguably more fun to be around than the stuffy royal chamberlain.

But the strategist had a job to do, and Regis had personally entrusted him with the responsibility of keeping close watch over his son in his absence, so he did what he could to stifle the growing tension between himself and his boyhood friend. Attempts at recreating the pastry the prince remembered fondly while recuperating in Tenebrae failed miserably; offering to transport Noct and an unworldly Prompto in the king’s Regalia to tour the city only resulted in him being left behind in the driver’s seat; Ignis even went so far as to enlist the services of Gladio to help him become better versed in the art of warfare—much as his intellect resisted the notion of taking up arms—in the interest of keeping up with Noctis’ budding magical prowess, but his efforts at proving the value of his assets fell on deaf ears.

There comes a time in every man’s life, the strategist concedes, that words inevitably fail and the only course of action when resolving a dilemma is to confront it with steel. Noct’s prickliness toward him had reached a tipping point, the viability of their friendship dangling by a quickly fraying thread, and he’d grown weary of the prince’s blatant disregard toward his father and royal responsibilities when he skipped out on numerous council meetings and trashed his apartment mere hours after Ignis had cleaned it. The moment of reckoning: midnight; the place: a sparring mat located inside the Citadel; the means: two identical sets of daggers.

Noct’s skills with a pair of crossblades was impressive for a sixteen-year-old, but if he’d been paying closer attention to the number of hours his royal steward was clocking in at the palace’s fitness center and not squandered his afternoons wading after elusive Lucian carp, he would have recognized the perfected reverse grip in the strategist’s hands. Still, the bout lasted longer than Ignis would’ve given credit for; by the end of it, the two teenagers were battered and bruised and drenched in their own sweat, the acrimony between them slowly ebbing as the airing of their mutual grievances lingered in both their ears.

Noct continued to trash his apartment at times in the aftermath of their row, and the pastries Ignis baked for him never did quite measure up to snuff, but the grudging sense of respect the strategist had garnered from the prince that night was undeniable. And as that esteem took firm hold, their original fondness for one another resumed; his old friend still chided him for his stuffiness, but his teasing was now laced with affection rather than animosity. Gladio and Prompto’s presence helped to fill in the gaps of the dynamic the strategist was unable to provide in its entirety, and a brotherhood was forged between the four men that would last a lifetime.

At least, one of their lifetimes. Because when the long night had descended upon Eos an eternity ago, a sacrifice was required from the gods in order for the sun to rise again; as he returns the photograph to its proper place on the dusty shelf in his apartment, Ignis remembers the blissful ignorance of his youth, remembers the faces of his companions when he still had the use of his eyes, remembers when the brotherhood had fractured and splintered and then resurrected itself like a phoenix in the ashes of eternal darkness. And he remembers the last words he had said to Noctis Lucis Caelem, his king, his majesty, his oldest friend, and wonders whether Noct ever knew the true depths of the strategist’s devotion.

As he blinks back the sudden welling in his occluded eye, Ignis whispers, “I should like to think that he did.”

1. What does their bedroom look like?

I think for the most part it would be tidy. Bed made, desk (mostly) clear, etc. He’s got some laundry on the floor, a couple of books lying about, and his jacket as well as his school things are never put away but everything else is in it’s place. 

His desk is by the window so he can make good use of natural light and It’s usually got assignments for school on it as well as whatever books might go along with them when he’s not using it. 

He keeps a small collection of books in his room- his favourites. Whatever he’s currently reading is kept on his bedside table and everything else is stacked by his desk but they should be on the shelf in the living room. 

He’s a nerd.

2. Do they have any daily rituals?

 I don’t think he would, not outside what he needs to do (school). Not unless you count him monologuing while he masturbates as a ritual, I have a feeling that’s a daily thing. 

3. Do they exercise, and if so, what do they do? How often?

 He does not, he would much rather lounge somewhere comfy with something he finds enjoyable. A book, a person, a puzzle, etc. 

4. What would they do if they needed to make dinner but the kitchen was busy?

I can see him being like “Everybody, get out of my way” (This is meant to be read in John Mulaney’s voice from the thing where he followed this with something like “I’m just here to feed my birds”) but I can also see him just clearing enough space for himself and getting to work. I guess it depends on who’s in the kitchen making what and what he’s going to be making. He’s not going to be interrupting someone that’s making cake or pastries just so he can cut vegetables in peace. 

5. Cleanliness habits (personal, workspace, etc.)

His parents/governess were somewhat strict about cleanliness when he was a child so he makes an effort to keep himself well groomed, especially when adults are present. No dirt under his fingernails, his clothes and hair are neat etc. He’s less concerned about it when he’s with the other boys and even less when he’s relaxing, either by himself or with Ernst, but he still somewhat pays attention to how much dirt he’s getting on himself or how much work it will take him to make himself look properly presentable before he finds himself around adults again. 

I think I got into workspace okay with his bedroom? He’s mostly tidy because he has to be, any disorder in his room can easily be taken care of. 

6. Eating habits and sample daily menu

I think he would love sweet things (candy, fruit, berries, etc) and he’s always a slut for baked goods. I have no idea what kind of things ppl usually ate in 1890′s Germany. 

7. Favorite way to waste time and feelings surrounding wasting time

He only really considers time wasted if he’s not spending it on something he likes to do or needs to do. So he has no favourite way to waste time, he only feels as though he’s wasting time if he’s bored out of his mind for no good reason.

Ernst. It really isn’t safe for him to be smooshing booties in a vineyard with another boy but? He’s doing it. And being all poetic about it too ofc, he really likes Ernst. 

If he can indulge he will, he loves it. Life’s too short to deny himself pleasure, so long as said pleasure doesn’t harm him and/or get in the way of him becoming a millionaire.  

9. Makeup?

None. I can see him maybe trying, or at least wanting to try makeup at some point? Never with anyone around or if there was a chance of someone catching him though. Literature and languages. He loves reading, loves diving into a book and analyzing characters, plot, symbolism, all of it. He loves talking about them as well, he could talk for hours about his favourites. He’s fascinated by other languages and speaks a handful rather fluently as an adult. He probably also enjoys reading the same book but translated into different languages because no translation is exact and it’s always interesting to see a slightly different take on things. 

I can also see him having interest in biology? Because science is fascinating and it’s amazing how diverse and intricately designed living things can be.

He talks about the books he likes when he’s jerking off so I don’t think I really need to get into that lmao

I think he might see the idea of sexual orientation as a little silly or perhaps performative? He understands that he’s expected to only like women and knows that once he’s older he’ll be expected to marry one, to have children etc etc. So for the most part he keeps his attraction to men to himself (Ernst being a very obvious exception, likely not the only one but it’s not something he would ever reveal lightly) and he thinks that most people are doing the same in order to avoid being judged negatively by their community.

Something along the lines of “everyone is only acting like they’re exclusively attracted to the opposite sex because it’s what’s seen as normal. They don’t want everyone else to point fingers at them calling them sinners and sexual deviants and condemning them to hell so they deny themselves half the beauty the world has to offer. For this same reason, they’re quick to attack anyone around them who might be revealed as queer. They’re so focused on keeping their own secret safe that they never realize everyone around them is keeping exactly the same one.”

He just keeps going. He tries to act like everything is fine, to show that he’s strong. The second he’s alone he deflates. He’s depressed af but does everything he can to hide it.

Yes, Wendla and Moritz died, but he has no plans to kill himself and he can’t get pregnant so a botched abortion isn’t a threat to him. He’s in good health and he’s got his wits about him. What is there for him to be afraid of? He can worry about dying later.
