Nome (2023, Guinea-Bissau 🇬🇼) directed by Sana Na N'Hada

Nome is a film over 50 years in the making. In the late 60s, revolutionary Bissau-Guinean Marxist leader Amílcar Cabral sent filmmakers Sana na N’Hada, Flora Gomes, Josefina Lopes Crato and José Bolama to Cuba. To help change international public opinion against the Portuguese colonial regime, they returned to the country to document the struggle. This archive footage forms the basis for the fiction Nome, N’hada following its eponymous character as he joins the resistance movement. The story takes place in Guinea-Bissau in 1969, during the war of independence between the Portuguese colonial army and the guerrillas of the African Party for the Independence of Guinea. The protagonist, Nome, leaves his village and joins the ranks of the guerrillas. After years of struggle, he returns to his village as a hero. However, the initial joy soon gives way to bitterness and cynicism. (source)

davvero devastante comunque che nei primi del 2000, quando nessuno si filava temi sull'inclusività e la diversità, witch avesse personaggi di etnie e culture diverse come fosse la cosa più normale del mondo. la mia preferita era taranee, una ragazzina nera con mamma afro-asiatica giudice e papà avvocato. era l'intellettuale del gruppo, introspettiva e coraggiosa. ora nel reboot ha due nomi africani in più, indossa street wear ed è una giocatrice di basket. hay lin era figlia di immigrati cinesi che l'adoravano, era spigliata, caotica, amava la moda. ora è una ragazza seria e silenziosa, razionale e misteriosa che sogna di tornare in Cina "sulle ventose montagne dov'è cresciuta". la ragazza bionda e ricca, cornelia, che piaceva perché testarda e sicura di sé è insicura e ricerca attenzione perché si sente inferiore. bro. bro

Libro preferito...

Ne ho talmente tanti che scegliere è difficile.

Uno su tutti 'Il nome della rosa', di Umberto Eco.

Un giallo a tutti gli effetti.

In epoca medievale.

Immagino che la storia sia nota a tutti.

L'ambientazione, un monastero benedettino. Una serie di omicidi che mettono alla prova frate Guglielmo da Baskerville, un insolito investigatore.

Non mancano riferimenti al periodo storico, alla santa inquisizione, ai processi svolti al solo scopo di confermare la colpa dell'imputato, che, sotto tortura, avrebbe finito per confessare seppur innocente.

Geniale la soluzione del mistero.

Grande delusione il film.
