Tell me everything abt dusk shadows? Please? Theyre so so pretty and cool and edgy and i love them already and i know nothing abt thrm

ive waited my whole life to hear these words... this is going to be very long.

theyre my little skrunkle next gen oc i made when i was like 9 and have kept alive since then, their story has changed around throughout the years but i did make it when i was 9 so its not the best literature, keep that in mind.

basically theyre the mane character of my next-gen-mixed-with-au hootverse that all my silly little redesigns come from, some story elements are changed and this is important because Sombra takes the place of Chrysalis in season 9 because she accepted Starlight's friendship after she freed the hive.

so when the trio gets unfrozen to be reformed Twilight takes on reforming Sombra and of course it goes like this

because its a next gen and they get in a genuine relationship and Sombra works on himself and gets better, + they have kids but then he slips up one day and accidentally grows evil crystals or something by accident and the kingdom's ponies don't trust him and some even start saying shit like "what if their kids turn out evil like him >:((((" "i cant believe twilight loves tis guy what if SHES evil too?!?!?" and it was disrupting harmony and Twilights like "damn this is wild!!!!! i am going to start twilighting 24/7". so to 'keep her safe' in his eyes, while shes pregant with Dusk, Sombra acts like hes evil again and runs away and then when Dusk is born Twilight has to give them to up for adoption movie style on the doorstep in the rain because its the edgy 2010 oc backstory + ponies were threatening the children because of Sombra and all that (they couldnt give them to one of the mane 6 because it would be too risky for someone to realize it was her child)

Dusk goes to friendship camp one year as a filly and meets their first real friend, Firefly. They keep in contact until their teenage years when Firefly becomes a rockstar and stops talking to Dusk because of the pressure of keeping up a "popular" image. Dusk starts spending all of their time with their other friend Frost Lily, but their declining mental state causes them to see one of those waking nightmares (the ones Sombra trapped the castle with. they inherited it and like. cast it on themself by mistake somehow) and they see a vision of Frost Lily getting really sick and dying. They don't know this was just a nightmare their magic made them see, so they leave town, thinking there's nothing left for them there now. Their wandering leads them to Canterlot, where Twilight sees and recognizes them, and summons them to the castle, where she explains Dusk is her child and everything that happened and why she had to give them away, expecting them to be all happy huggy 'i love you mom'ing!!! But they were actually just really upset and angry at Twilight for not even trying and she kept and raised their other child, ect.

Twilight gets worried about Dusk's mental state which leads to her worrying about Dusk going down the 'same dark path' as Sombra, and she sends them to their own small town just like Celestia did for her when she was young so they can discover joy and friendship magic

this is getting SO long but they become a part of their own mane 6 of sorts that includes firefly, a griffin named boe, a dragon named Carbon, an axolotl named snorkel and a 'baby' ursa minor that goes by ursus once they get there. on the way they meet a suspicious trio of "ponies" that may or may not be demons summoned by Sombra to keep an eye on his child and report back to him on how theyre doing.

Eventually Dusk also turns into an evil alicorn thing but y'know their friends fix that with the power of friendship™ and then they defeat the demons too

hey I just wanna say I love your MLP redesigns and I wish I could come up with my own cool ones but every time I try it doesn't turn out well. Do you have any tips on coming up with something really cool?

The main thing I know I did before making my redesigns was look at other peoples redesigns and take inspiration from my favorites. The one I can give the best example for is pinkie.

For pinkie, I really liked the patch like pattern people would often give her. But I also added surprise, her G1 design, into it by giving her vitiligo and heterochromia. I'm planing to do another redesign of her, and I'm going to make her colors darker to match up with the rest of her family more.

Also, you're never going to really have a final design for them, at least that's how it is for me. I'm always changing up my designs for the mane 6 so, don't be too hard on yourself about it.

I guess what you can take out of this is take inspiration (important, take inspiration from don’t compare, the only thing comparing does is make you feel bad about your own stuff) from other people's designs; just don't copy them, obviously. Look at what you think can be improved in the original. See what they look as a group, if the colors are too contrasting you might want to change some things. And lean into their specific aesthetics.

This is long so, I'm going to go into specifics on some of my redesigns because I want to talk about them, lol, under the cut

Twilight: I wanted her to look cute and nerdy, so I gave her a ponytail and glasses. Like a lot of people, I don’t understand the pink in her hair, so I made her look like more of a combination of her parents. I also changed her cutie mark to more symbolize how she’s connected to her friends by having six dots surround the weird star thing and each dot is one of her friends. I really like the cutie marks connecting the mane 6 in like a fate sort of thing.

Rainbow dash: I like rainbows design as it is. The only thing I really changed is her hair. The six colors has always been hard for me to look good so, I separated them, three in the mane and three for the tail. She’s also meant to look stereotypically “cool”.

Fluttershy: She lives by herself with a bunch of wild animals, she’s going to have scars. I haven’t actually posted a picture of fluttershy like this yet, but I plan on giving her a short horn. Shy’s supposed to be a foil to Twilight in my redesign. Shy was born to a canterlot rich family, but then she’s put up for adoption because of her disability (the short horn, she can’t use magic well). A nice pegasus family adopts her (her parents in the show) and her life is kind of the same as in the show. In contrast, twilight grows up in a rich unicorn family, student to princess celestia, and she has powerful magic.

For the other 3 I already went into everything I want to say about their redesigns on the posts I made for them.

Tldr me and my partner broke up and it's hitting me hard so I decided to engage in some nice self shipping because it's completely inoffensive and just harmless fun so I remade my pony Sona and made an au

So irl my name is Luna-Rose but that can get confusing with princess Luna so I'll just be referring to myself as Rose

Basically the gist of this is that princess Luna and Rose we're very close before nightmare Moon happened

Rose originally just tended to the Royal pets and swans being an animal care pony they stood out initially because they're actually half dragon ponies often mistake them for an alicorn because they have both a unicorn horn and a pair of wings but they're not actually an alicorn they can only use unicorn magic and their magic is actually very weak due to hybrid jeans making things more complicated the reason their wings are feathered and not more like normal dragonwings is because of the pony genetics making the wings grow feathers

Rose was perfectly content with admiring the Moon princess from afar and doing their job tending to the animals until the princess and them started talking more and they grew very close very quickly to the point where somehow behind the scenes Rose was promoted to be lunas personal guard which was confusing to Rose because they had no guard experience or training apparently the princess has pulled some strings to make this happen the main reasoning other than Luna just wanting her close friend and possibly more close to her is that Rose is half dragon therefore intimidating and capable of protecting the princess

Their relationship continued to develop from there in this time they never really made it official but they were basically a couple

And then nightmare Moon happened

You see in the past Celestia wasn't the humble honest ruler that she is now that's not to say she was a bad ruler far from it but back in the day she was a tad more boastful confident not afraid to brag which well you know the story by now

Nightmare Moon hit Rose hard and it was also the event that caused Celestia to become more humble and not really brag about her position or status

Of course Rose was crushed and harbored some amount of blame towards Celestia seeing the fact that Luna turned into nightmare Moon in the first place as her fault and after a particularly nasty fight with the sun princess they left the castle angry and grief stricken

And then they discovered a familiar artifact not familiar to them after all but familiar to everyone reading this

The alicorn amulet

Of course Rose initially didn't know what this was finding it just to be a strange necklace but something about it just called to them so they put it on

Realizing that this artifact increased they're admittedly finicky magical ability excited them but the amulets corruption was already taking its course and soon vengeful thoughts of getting back at Celestia started entering their mind

Sure enough when they returned to the castle it was not with friendly intentions a fight broke out damaging the castle even further after the fight with nightmare Moon

Celestia was forced to use a stone sleep spell the stop the raging dragon pony strangely enough the amulet itself didn't turn to Stone just the creature wearing it Celestia was quick to store it away even if it was going to get stolen and thrown into a random shop a thousand years or so later

Celestia now even more dejected that she not only lost her sister but a close friend as well had the statue placed in the Royal garden and that's when Rose actually got the epithet 'Luna' as an honor to princess Luna

Celestia named the statue "lover to the Moon" and swore if princess Luna ever did return that's when Rose would be released from Stone

All right there we go a completely and totally self-indulgent au don't take this too seriously it's just for fun

I also hope you like the princess Luna redesign I did I'm going to do one for Celestia too

Welp... it’s over. After nine years, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is over. I just got done watching the series finale with Anthony and, just like I knew I would, when the credits rolled, I cried my eyes out

I should probably say something, huh. I’ve been sharing thoughts like this mostly on Twitter lately, but I started using Tumblr to blog about MLP, so I don’t think it would be right to post this anywhere else

I have a complicated relationship with MLP:FiM. It’s a show that got really hit or miss after the second season, and it has a fandom so toxic and so full of edgy libertarians that it scared me off from formally participating in fandoms for the rest of my life. But it’s also probably my favorite TV show of all time. There are other shows that are much better written, that have more to say, that are more consistent, even including several other cartoons from the same decade. But I think I’d be lying to myself if I said it wasn’t my favorite show

No other piece of media has had as massive of an impact on my life as My Little Pony

I grew closer to some of my closest high school friends because of our shared enthusiasm for the show. I started PonyPokey with Jake and Derek and made a bunch of bad videos and got invited to be on a wildly disorganized BronyCon panel with Jenny Nicholson in 2012. (We went on stage immediately after Lauren Faust’s panel. I barely said a word due to stage fright.)

After years of being too afraid to share my art online, I started putting more effort into learning digital art so that I could draw ponies. It started out rough, but with the drive to improve, I quickly got better. I started Fluttershy Replies. For the first time, I had an audience. I had people who cared about my work and supported me. Even as times have changed, many of you have been following me since way back then

Around the time I came out as bi in 2012, I got really into MLP shipping. Writing sappy comics and drawing sappy art became an outlet for my years of pent up feelings, and helped me sort out a lot of stuff. My Little Pony also completely changed the views on femininity that had been beaten into my skull since childhood. Suddenly, it wasn’t this strange, alien thing to be afraid of. MLP, at its heart, is a show about how there’s no wrong way to be a girl. That’s an incredibly powerful message. Rarity wasn’t a vapid snob. Fluttershy wasn’t a background character who got made into the butt of the joke. Pinkie wasn’t a ditz. These were characters written to be empathized with. And writing about my own feelings from the perspective of Fluttershy felt... right. It took me a few years to fully process those feelings, but eventually, I realized the truth. I was a trans woman. And a cartoon about horses was the first step on my path to realizing this

In 2013, one of the roughest years of my life, I decided to download RPG Maker on a whim to give myself a distraction. Naturally, my first instinct was to make a game where Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash kiss. What was initially supposed to be a short, Fantastic Game-esque playground of silly little jokes spiraled out of control and became Super Lesbian Horse RPG, a game that I poured my heart and soul into over the course of a year. And then, a couple years later, my desire to preserve the ideas from my copyright-infringing fangame also spiraled out of control, as all my creative projects do, and became SLHRPG��s successor: Super Lesbian Animal RPG. SLARPG isn’t really a reskinned MLP fangame anymore--it’s more like a new game inspired in part by my old project. The story has been drastically rewritten, the characters changed, the levels and gameplay redesigned. Most of the cast of the new game wasn’t in the original project in any form. There’s much, much, much, much, much more new content than old left in the game. And the original game had already strayed so far from the canon anyway. But I’m also not sure it would exist without MLP

I made a bunch of friends online, including close friends I still have to this day. I met the people like Bee and Thomas who I’m still working with on SLARPG. Most importantly, because we both blogged about MLP and had some mutual friends, I met Anthony, the love of my life. We’ve been together for five years now and supported each other through good times and bad. This is the lamest, corniest, stupidest thing I will ever say in my life, but he’s the Rainbow Dash to my Fluttershy

...

So what about the finale itself? (spoilers, obviously)

I have... mixed feelings on the finale. There were some things that really annoyed me in there. But also, like I said, I cried, so I think it’s safe to say they did good overall

I think the thing that stuck in my craw the most was Discord. Which I guess shouldn’t be surprising. I’ve been saying for years now how I hate Discord, how he spits in the face of everything the show stands for. He’s an obnoxious elderly manchild who constantly causes problems on purpose and torments his so-called friends the second they stop paying attention to him. But they have to put up with him and give him infinite second chances, because he’s a god and Celestia said they had to reform him

The overarching plot of the final season is that Queen Chrysalis, King Sombra, Tirek, and Cozy Glow (a Darla Dimple-esque filly villain from season 8) had teamed up with Grogar, a “new” villain taken from G1. While this goes on in the background, Twilight is making her preparations to become Celestia’s successor, as we’d known would be her destiny since the day she got wings six years ago. The villain team-up stuff was genuinely fun, and a highlight of the season for me. But then, in the three-part finale, it’s revealed that Grogar was actually Discord in disguise, and that he’d been intentionally trying to orchestrate a big attack on Twilight’s coronation so that she and her friends could save the day and get a big confidence boost going into her reign as princess. This is like... one of the most bafflingly stupid plot twist of all time. It’s literally the end of the show, and Discord has learned nothing. He’s “nice” now, but he’s still intentionally causing huge problems and putting everyone’s lives in danger to solve his problems. He freed four different villains they’d already defeated just so Twilight could beat them again, and in the process they literally blew up the goddamn castle in Canterlot and nearly killed everyone. And yet... they still forgive him, because they have to

I did, however, think that the last two-part adventure episode was fun overall. It tied a nice bow on much of the series, bringing back a bunch of old friends (including cameos from the movie cast!) to band together and save the day. Of course, in the end, they beat the bad guys with a big rainbow laser and sealed them in a statue. You know, even though a previous season finale was all about how solving their problems with a friendship laser and sealing the villains away never worked. Also, Cozy Glow might be evil, but she’s still literally a child? And now her petrified body is on display in the center of Canterlot? What the fuck????

I’m complaining a lot, but again. It was fun overall. It was nice to have one last big adventure, and to have the mane six reflect on how they’d grown since Twilight moved to Ponyville

...

And then we got the actual final episode. And boy did this one hit me HARD

I’m so glad that they ended on a quieter episode about the main cast’s friendships, because that’s what the show is actually about. The two-part adventures to save Equestria every season are fun, but that’s not the real show. We all came back every week for Twilight and her friends

There are things I can complain about here, too. Spike being a buff adult dragon with the voice of a child is fucked up. I’m still not used to seeing Twilight be Celestia’s size. But more than anything, I was always worried that we’d get a Harry Potter ending, where all the characters are paired off into arbitrary marriages so they can all have kids. Thankfully, this didn’t really happen. The only one who had a kid was Pinkie, who apparently got married to Cheese Sandwich (Weird Al’s character) at some point. Like, they literally shared two episodes together, with no hint of romance? But then they got married and had a kid off-screen??? What the fuck???? A lot of people also think that Fluttershy ended up with Discord, and I know I’m massively biased against that ship, but... I mean, they teased the FlutterCord shippers, but there wasn’t really any actual textual evidence that they were any closer than they had been previously. Y’all weirdos who ship Fluttershy with an obnoxious elderly man can interpret that as being “canon” if you want, I guess, but it’s not

The other relationship that shocked everyone in the finale was Applejack and Rainbow Dash, who... appear to be a couple? It’s definitely hinted at. I have... very, very mixed feelings about this. I mean, okay, obivously I’m the big FlutterDash fangirl. But I think AppleDash is cute, too! The problem is that, like... they’ve barely interacted in years? Like, they had a lot of episodes together in the first two seasons, but then the writers barely ever had them interact past that point. I can’t even remember when the last time we got an actual episode focusing on them was. And no, the one where Rainbow takes Granny Smith to pony Vegas doesn’t count

Like... yeah, it’s cute. It’s a nice gesture. Lyra and Bon Bon getting married in the background was also cute. But we can do so, so much better in 2019. We have so many explicitly canon lesbian couples in cartoons. Couples that actually kissed, or got married, or showed feelings for each other. Rainbow and AJ barely even fucking talked to each other in the final few seasons. I dunno, it just feels very hollow to me. Even the Equestria Girls crew admitting they were pushing RariJack felt more substantial to me, because at least they were given on-screen chemistry and lots of canon interaction

But in the end, complaints aside, the finale was about Twilight moving back to Canterlot, and worrying that her friendships would fade because of it. Honestly, I think this is what the finale of the show always would’ve been. It was the perfect story to end on. And boy, it hit really close to home

And then the last song happens, reflecting on how things have changed, but how they’re all still friends. And we see all the other friends they made along the way. And the camera zooms out, and the book from the opening of the very first episode closes, bringing the entire nine-year saga full circle

And then I started sobbing really hard in Anthony’s arms

...

I dunno. I just got done nitpicking a lot, but I still think that the last episode was a good and very emotional ending for the show

I’m going to miss this show dearly. I know it will be back in a new form, and that the leaks indicate that it’ll still star slightly different versions of the Mane Six. I’m also used to shows like this getting rebooted. Hasbro cartoons are honestly lucky to last past three seasons. FiM, on the other hand, got over 200 episodes, a theatrical film, a few specials, some shorts, a bunch of comics (which I still need to read), and a spinoff human AU series that was also really great. There’s no shortage of content, and I’m sure I’ll be returning to the series for years to come. I’m also glad that the show managed to go out on a high note

But still. It was a constant presence in my life for nearly nine years. Even as the quality got really hit or miss, even as they took the premise in strange directions, even as the crew of the show grew more and more dominated by men, it was still a show I could rely on to always be there, 26 episodes a year. I’ll miss it. I hope what comes next is just as good, if not even better. I also hope it’s gayer

I was going to end my ask blog, Fluttershy Replies, around the time the show ended. I’m not sure if I’ll do that just yet. I don’t know. I think that might be a bit much for me to process emotionally. Too many doors closing in my life in quick succession. But I do want to do more with it. These characters will be special to me for the rest of my life

I mean shit, I haven’t even drawn StarTrix yet. I’ve still got a lot of work to do with these horses, folks

Curiosities 👀

More than anything, it is the origin story of my two Aus.

What is the reason that motivated you to make your own Au?

For that, let's start at the beginning of everything.

It's funny since Undertale had gone out of fashion at the time, I really didn't know what the story was about and had the idea that it would be another boring nonsense game.

But in that I dared to investigate what his story is about thanks to a YouTuber (whom I also met through the video game Bendy ant The Ink Machine), and thus my taste for Undertale began.

Then for the Shipps, but that's another story.

After getting to know Undertale better, I thought about delving into Fandom to the point of learning about alternative universes.

How?

Thanks to the Underverse series, there has started my taste for alternative universes.

One day when I was drawing one of the Undertale characters at the time, I came up with the idea of creating my own alternate universe and Reisontale came up.

Reisontale was the first name you thought of for your AU?

If I am honest NO, the truth was it was difficult to think of a name for me AU, since I wanted it to be original and not repeated.

The first one that occurred to me was Gastertale.

But after searching that this AU already existed, I discarded the name and tried to think of another one again.

And why the Reisontale Name?

Well, that has a very clear explanation, by Reison.

Since she created this AU into a dead and destroyed AU.

Where did you get inspiration to make Reison?

In Chara and Friks, in My Little Pony Princess Celestia and Luna (at that time I was still a fan of them) and in the legends of my country of the Origin of Day and Night.

Well, I don't know if you noticed Reison has symbols that represent day and night. And this is more noticeable with the powers it has (which are Light and Darkness).

Why the name of Reison?

I chose a random name, this one is divided in two, Rei for a Sailor Moon character that I really like (Sailor Mars) and Son for my mistake, since I thought it meant Sun in English, but it actually means Son.

And well, I decided to give it a name like that, since I inadvertently made a move with the word smile in Spanish.

What is Reison's past? Will it have a story?

At the moment I will not show anything of Reison's past, nor his history.

But who will have a history if it is so.

I already have it planned from start to finish, but for the moment I will not show it, since I want Reison to continue maintaining that air of mystery that characterizes him.

But I will give basic information about her, such as her birthday and her tastes.

And what about Jackson? (the Sans of Reisontale)

Ahhhhh, I will talk very little about it, since it is not as relevant as Reison and Eight (since they will have a leading role in a project that I have planned that is called Multiverse), but I will include it despite the fact that I will not give it as much importance, it is still my favorite creation (after Reison and eight) 😌.

Did you plan to do Numbertale after Reisontale?

NO, Numbertale was not in my plans, in fact only Reisontale was only planned.

If you didn't have Numbertale planned, then how did the idea come about?

Something that if I don't clarify is that, since I was new to AUS, I thought that each AUS Creator could only create one. So I will settle for having a UA.

What made me change my mind was the Creator of Geno, Error and Fresh.

SHIT !! I create three Aus, with these Sans, with super good stories. (I loved the Aftetale U-U story 👌)

This gave me the motivation to do more than one UA, so the idea to create Numbertale came up.

Why Numbertale?

If I had trouble thinking of a name for my first AU, this was more.

But I will say the origin, since I was bored in math classes I decided to give characters a shape and without thinking I created an Undertale character.

Who was the Papyrus was the first Numbertale character to create after Sans and Friks.

And there's the name of Numbertale.

The numbers on the characters in Numbertale, did you put them on why?

Initially YES, but after delving further into the meaning of each Number by Numerology, I paid more attention to giving a number to each character and somehow fitting it according to its meaning and personality.

If you don't believe me, look up the meaning of 8 and 9, and you will know why I put that number on Sans and Papyrus.

Is Numbertale having its story too?

Of course, I already published the first page of Comic 1, the other pages I have in my sketchbook but I will pass them to Dijital later.

I take this opportunity to say that the story of Numbertale will be divided into 4 Comic, all without losing the course of the story, but it will have 4 protagonists depending on what the comic is called, a clear example is Comic 1 which is called Friks (it means that this Comic will star Friks).

The others would tell them but I do not want to do Spoilers, I put aside that I want it to be a surprise.

What was Eight's first design like?

Ugly

I think so, it wasn't a great design to say since at the time I didn't know how to draw Sans well.

But that if, I had to redesign it 3 times, (the current design is the definitive one).

Did you have a character to get inspired by Eight's design?

Yes, it was six characters, but I was more inspired by Cross Sans and Delta Sans.

At first I planned to make numbertale's universe a kind of world parallel to X-Tale, but dismiss the idea as it wanted to be original.

And apart from the need to know more about the AU as X-Gaster (which I didn't know much about, since I couldn't find the comics of this Spanish-language Sempai Jael, at the time I was finishing the comic like the incredible episodes of Underverse).

Eight's first design had an almost like Cross, but with its differences, I really regret how I used to draw it

As I said earlier, I didn't want it to be a cheap copy of Cross, I had to modify several things to the character such as story, personality and design.

There are some things that your current design retains from the old one.

You may find similitides of Eight's wardrobe with Cross's, it's more of a reference to Jakei's influence on this Au. Other than that Cross is my favorite character.

What story are you going to make first? Numbertale or Reisontale?

Numbertale, since as I mentioned earlier, Reisontale is more related to Reison's story and past.

And I don't want to show any of this yet.

Besides, to better understand Reisontale's story, you have to know Numbertale's as these are related.

Why, I won't say.

Are you going to do something else after you finish Numbertale and Reisontale?

Yep, The Multiverse Project where Reison, Co-Star Eight and The Jackson will be starring, because...

I see what I'm doing with him.

I have other projects, but I still don't know which one to start with first.

I'm not sure I'm going to be encouraged to do the story of my Third AU, called Wizardtale.

But first with the first thing.

When a young Fleur de Lis gained her cutie mark, she was disappointed and confused. Surely there was more to life than just teaching her native language of Prench (pony version of French)? When she was old enough, she left for Canterlot and worked her way into being one of Queen Celestia's top secret agents. She was a master in combat, stealth and had no trouble with disguises. I mean, who would think a simpering yet stunningly beautiful unicorn would be capable of kicking someone's teeth in? Fleur just so happened to be in the right place at the right time when she met Fancy Pants. She saved his life from muggers in a dark alleyway and, after taking him in for the night to tend to any injuries, he asked her to become her bodyguard. Fleur, charmed by this dumb but handsome fellow, agrees. After saving his life a few more times, the two fall in love and eventually marry. But it wasn't as perfect as it seemed. Fancy had asked Fleur to retire when they married, which she did. She couldn't have predicted that she would be forced to become the perfect trophy wife, be quiet, obedient, keep your body slim and porcelain, hide your scars, smile. Fleur endured it because she loved him but eventually after one to many poses or one to many flawless, fancy, boring parties something inside of her snapped. She had saved his life countless time, loved him, did everything for him and this was the reward? They soon divorced, Fleur moving to a humble small town and now more than content to give private Prench lessons for hire. Later on, Rarity and Fancy Pants reconnect, fall in love, get married and proceeded to have two sons together, Chuck Lindsneigh and Ace Dandy. However, Rarity was really not okay with how Fancy was trying to mould their children into perfect little elites and forcing them to grow up way too fast. They had many arguments about how to raise their children and that, amongst other problems the couple where having, ultimately made Rarity realise that she no longer loved him and asked for a divorce. Rarity moved back to Ponyville and gained custody of the kids with Fancy visiting every weekend. Or, at least, he was supposed to. Fancy was both bitter and genuinely upset over the divorce and didn't visit for a long time. Chuck was perfectly happy with this, he wanted nothing to do with his father after being forced to parade around like some dolled up pet. Ace, being only seven, was very upset at the changes and blamed himself for the divorce, despite Rarity's reassurance that it wasn't. Despite the transition and all the upset, Rarity simply hoped that her sons would live more like children and that they would heal and work together to grow overtime in an environment she proudly called home. She didn't expect to run into Fleur in the Ponyville Park, whom she found entertaining her son in proper fighting techniques against the other kids. She didn't expect Fleur to be so understanding of her situation and invite her over for tea to talk about it. She didn't expect to spend more and more time at her place, swapping stories of their times with Fancy and discussing what they heard through the grapevine. She didn't expect Fleur to connect so well with her children or anticipate Chuck practically beg her to invite her over for dinner. She didn't expect to realise she had fallen so head over heels in love with her when she starting looking forward to their little tea and natter sessions. And she certainly didn't expect to marry her freaking own ex-husband's first ex wife! Opal, instead of being Fancy's child, is now the result of Twilight's IVF spell (in which the combined love of two ponies of the same gender plus added sperm donation/surrogate mother make a baby. In this case, they picked a random donor and Fleur carried their baby.) Hence, slight redesign! As of now, the family are a tad happier (there's still issues with the boys, ho boy) and Chuck and Ace both love their dear sweet ass-kicking 'Maman' and their rock obsessed lil' sis. Fancy is still a part of their lives, once he finally realised he wanted to see his sons more than sulk about his failed marriages. Chuck still avoids him but Ace has built a better relationship with Fancy over the years. He isn't close with Opal but they are perfectly civil with each other and they prefer it that way. He is still understandably awkward around Rarity and Fleur but no longer holds any hard feeling towards them. - I took inspiration for Fleur's backstory from this comic. Best Redemptions Of Friendship is Magic (Major Villains)

So today, in light of Season 9 approaching I’m going to give my ranking of reformed or redeemed major villains in Friendship is Magic and Equestria Girls because Friendship is Magic! However, this is going to be divided into four different categories:

Major Villians (Friendship Is Magic)

Secondary Antagonists

Equestria Girls Villains

Overall

So this can give insight on how many villains have been reformed/redeemed (because there’s too damn many) and who’s still left in play for Season 9 and the rest of Equestria Girls. So with that let’s start with major villains which are:

Luna/Nightmare Moon (Season 1 Premire)

Discord (Season 2 Premire) (technically Season 4 Premire because he spread the plundervines in the first place)

Chrysalis is still at large (Season 2 Finale) (Season 6 Finale)

Sombra is currently shattered into pieces (I’m not counting the comics show only) (Season 3 Premire)

Tirek is imprisoned at Tartarus (Season 4 Finale)

Starlight Glimmer (Season 5 Premire and Season 5 Finale)

Stygian/Pony Of Shadows (Season 7 Finale)

The Storm King is shattered into pieces (My Little Pony Movie)

Tempest Shadow (My Little Pony The Movie)

Chancellor Neighsay (Season 8 Premire)

Cozy Glow is imprisoned at Tartarus (Season 8 Finale)

So out of eight seasons and a movie we’ve had a total of 11 villains and 6/11 got redeemed or reformed, or take out those who are imprisoned or shattered and you still get 6/11 so Friendship Is Magic for the win! Ok onto the rankings!

6. Starlight Glimmer

Reformation: Her. Reformation. Sucked. Easily at the bottom and this is not because I don’t like Starlight as a character but even if I did like her, he reformation was rushed. SHE even has constant doubts about herself and what a suitable punishment for herself is. But let’s remember she has what she did from The Cutie Map also. But her reformation consisted of a song montage, hanging out with each of the Mane 6 for like a second, moving to Ponyville, and getting easily forgiven by the members of Our Town.

Redemption: Now Season 6, was obviously Starlight’s Arc of Redemption and...sure she learned how to not steal ponies cutie marks anymore...but that’s it. Other than that she still does the same mistakes and hasn’t really learned from them and it goes on past Season 6 too. In fact the thing that’s funny is that Celestial Advice showcased Starlight graduating and one of Twilight’s characteristics that she mentioned of Starlight is honest...then in the very next episode she decides not to tell Twilight about what happened with the map table. Graduating student, everyone. But she makes the same mistakes after she learns from them as everyone else in the show does but at least they tend to break out of it, Starlight so far hasn’t and I honestly don’t think she will.

5. Chancellor Neighsay

Reformation: Once again, it was quick and in a dire situation but it was alright. Neighsay learned not do judge different creatures...I guess. The Student 6 helped him escape the chains of Cozy Glow while he thought that The Student 6 were behind the stolen magic. Pretty solid lesson.

Redemption: He resigned the EEA medallion and that’s it. Nothing else is known.

4. Stygian

Reformation: The thing is...Stygian didn’t really get to do anything as the Pony Of Shadows...and that it wasn’t entirely his fault for being the Pony Of Shadows. However to be fair, if Stygian would’ve talked to the Pillars before hand about his having his own weight to the team then things would’ve possibly gone differently. But he only appeared in the second half as The Pony Of Shadow’s and the only thing he really did was destroy Ponehenge. *coughs* WASTEDPOTENTIAL *coughs*

Redemption: He wrote three books about his past that are hits. Currently in the comics helping Luna out.

3. Tempest Shadow

Reformation: She sees the meaning behind friendship and why it’s important as opposed to being alone and how she does that is by going off to the places where the Storm King liberated and tries to help out and correct her mistakes by thinking of others as opposed to thinking about herself and regaining something she lost.

Redemption: She shows it more in the comics where she meets her old friend Glitter Drops and the two make up with some time and an Ursa Minor cub. Currently helping Luna with a mission comic wise.

2. Princess Luna

Reformation: Her reformation lacks a bit only for the simple fact that she got blasted by The Elements and was turned back to normal.

Redemption: I’m not gonna lie, Luna is personally in my Top 5 Favorite characters in the series overall and the ways she’s trying to redeem herself are good. The best portrayal of this would have to be Luna Eclipsed where Luna was re-introduced and redesigned (still misses short mane Luna). Here the episode presents herself on how everybody feared her back as Nightmare Moon and she wants to redeem herself but she needs to adjust after being gone for a thousand years. (Season 8 tried and rushed it with the Pillars but I’m not really complaining). So Twilight helps her do just that and she wins back the hearts of Ponyville and...she has a few episodes about helping the CMC with their problems but the thing is that she’’s trusting again and not seen as Nightmare Moon but Princess Luna to everyone...except herself which is where Do Princesses Dream Of Magic Sleep comes in. Reformed villains tend to guilt trip about their actions and here’s why it works well for Luna in that episode, she doesn’t show up too often. She learned to overcome the guilt of her actions as Nightmare Moon to create the Tantabus in the first place and since then....has been pushed to the sidelines. And there was that one episode where her and Celestia were fighting over who has the worse duties and they both wanted attention form each other but...not getting into that.

1. Discord

Redemption: Admittedly, we still don’t know too much about Discord even after 8 seasons but I’ll say this. Discord has the best redemption arc in the whole series (not overall). Originally, Discord was faking the reform game just so that he could win Fluttershy’s trust so that she couldn’t use her Element Of Harmony against him so that he wouldn’t go back to stone and was playing her but he slowly began to see that she was genuinely being hospitable and kind when no one else would and he realized “after he was free” that in doing so would make him lose the one friend who genuinely cared about him and he didn’t want that and since then he’ll do anything for Fluttershy. He even nearly faded out of existence just so that he could make Fluttershy have a tea party that was suited to her liking.

Reformation: He still causes mischief pranks but it’s not like what he did in his debut episode. And he learned his lesson from Twilight’s Kingdom majorly to not trust bad guys and again your individual freedom isn’t worth losing a friend over...in Friendship is Magic’s case. Oh and...the Twilight and Discord dynamic is great honestly, if Fluttershy’s his favorite pony to be around, his second favorite pony to be around has to be Twilight, then Celestia. (I demand an episode with just those four)

But that’s my list on the best ranked reformations and redemptions in Friendship is Magic.
