Any cryptids you doubt the existence of but hold out hope cause you like them?
Octosquatch.
I really doubt there’s a 4 foot tall octopus covered in hair that likes to take strolls alongside roads in the Spanish mountainside. But I would also love for them to be real. Look at this funky little dude.

The Octosquatch is a cryptid encountered in the Basque Mountains in Spain. It has been described as a four foot tall cephalopod covered in shaggy red hair. It has four tentacle-like appendages and huge, glowing eyes.
The creature was encountered by a pair of truckers in 1961, when they saw the Octosquatch on the side of the road. They slammed on the brakes, but the being remained frozen in the truck's headlights. The truckers attempted to frighten the creature into moving, but it would not, so they eventually drove away, leaving it where they found it.

4 CRYPTIDS SCARY STORIES TOO STRANGE TO BELIEVE
Published on Mar 4, 2020
Cryptids scary stories have been around just as long as any other domain of the paranormal. But unlike thing s such as ghosts, aliens or glitches some of these encounters involved physical evidence. Many of the people who come forward with Cryptids scary stories have really nothing to gain and everything to lose as most people in our society will dismiss their claims as being outside of our reality. #Octosquatch #Van_Meter_Visitor #Green_Eyes #

Lost Tapes is a guilty pleasure of mine. I'm not normally into horror, but this show has a certain charm to it and I like that it focuses on real legends from across the world. The acting and special effects can be cheesy, but that's part of the charm too.
So, I've compiled a list of cryptids and other legends that would make for good episodes if Animal Planet ever decides to reboot the series.
Here's the cryptids and stuff I picked:
Mokele-mbembe
Bunyip
Nessie (as a special, of course)
Phantom Big Cats
Ozark Howler
Ahool
Giant Catfish
Atmospheric Beasts
Burronjor
Canvey Island Monster
Montauk Monster
Passenger Pigeon/Clones (Pretty much Jurassic Park crossed with The Birds. Cloning experiments gone horribly wrong.)
Dragons
The Hidebehind (Would love to see where this creature is taken, considering that it's really good at not being seen)
Flatwoods Monster
Kongamato
Merfolk
Megalodon
Spring Heeled Jack
Murphysboro Mud Monster
Hobkinsville Goblins
Goatman
Loveland Frogmen
Van Meter Monster
U-28 creature (sea monster got hit by a U-boat)
Piasa Bird (I love this legend. There's a big mural of it somewhere near St. Louis.)
Leviathan
Lou Carcolh
Nameless Thing of Berkely Square
Devil of Son Doong Cave
Gambo the sea monster
Crazy Critter of Bald Mountain
Doppelganger
Men in Black (maybe there could be a rivalry between them and the Enigma Corp.)
Shadow People
Headless Horseman
Octosquatch (yes, this is a thing)
What creatures do you think would make interesting episodes in a reboot?

OCTO-SQUATCH #OCTOSQUATCH Late at night on a desolate stretch of mountainous road, a pair of truckers had a confrontation with one of the most bizarre beasts ever to ever to emerge from the annals of cryptozoology. During the summer of 1961, at approximately 11:00 pm., a 29 year-old truck driver by the name of Arquimedes Sanchez was negotiating the steep roads that wound their way over the treacherous Basque mountains, which are nestled in the northern Spanish province of Vizcaya. It’s a route that he’d likely traveled many times before, but on this fateful eve he’s encounter something that he could never have imagined. Sanchez and his riding partner (who chose not to reveal his name) were nearing Puerto de Barazar — no doubt eager to unload the goods in truck and call it a night — when their high beams illuminated a fantastic creature perched at the base of a sharp embankment on the opposite side of the road. Sanchez instantly slammed on the brakes and he and his co-worker stared in what must have been stunned silence at the inexplicable entity frozen before them. Sanchez would later described thisUNCLASSIFIED anomaly of nature as a “hairy octopus” that was approximately 3 to 4-feet tall and covered with a shaggy coat of “rust-colored hair.” The creature hastily covered its “round glowing eyes” with one of its four “tentacle-like arms,” but remained immobile; seemingly caught in the glare of the truck’s headlights. It seems probable that — much like in the notable 1977, DOVER DEMONcase — the thing’s eyes were likely not aglow with self-luminescence, but merely reflecting the lights from the truck.

Octosquatch

Image accessed at cryptopia.us here
[Commissioned by @wannabedemonlord. Following on the heels of the batsquatch and sheepsquatch is more hairy cryptid absurdity.]
Octosquatch This hairy brown mass stands a head shorter than a man, its shapeless body supported upright on a network of thick tentacles. Its only visible facial features are its two huge luminous eyes.
The octosquatch is perhaps the pinnacle, or nadir, of the fascination with sasquatches possessed by certain demonic monster cults. An octosquatch barely resembles its humanoid predecessor, being predominately cephalopod in appearance, but its stealth, hairy hide and pungent odor mark its sasquatch ancestry. Octosquatches are physically weaker than sasquatches, but make up for it with their cunning minds, powerful magical abilities and wholehearted endorsement of the wickedness to which they are set.
The piercing gaze of an octosquatch has a soothing effect on humanoid minds. Such creatures become passive, unable to attack or flee, left to the mercy of the octosquatch or its allies. Other creatures can still be affected by this gaze, but not to nearly the same level of efficacy. Octosquatches usually focus their attacks on creatures that have not succumbed to their gaze, immobilizing them instead in a cocoon of grasping arms. Like their octopus ancestors, an octosquatch has a poisonous bite, but it is delivered through upsettingly human-like teeth, and their short jaws can only reach creatures already in the octosquatch’s grasp.
An octosquatch typically has eight limbs, although as few as six and as many as twenty have been reported. Octosquatch move upright on these limbs as if they were legs, although their gait is swaying and boneless. Octosquatches, like their octopus ancestors, can fit through very tight spaces, and frequently lair in cracks in the earth, tree hollows or other crevices. They are skilled climbers, and some reports of “tree octopus” likely refer to these creatures.
