LU Headcanon's Part 4: Bring back the Twiddies
KIWI WIND “How ‘bout get fucked, mate.” “Eh?” “Oh, choice man!” “All good.” “Oh, yeah-nah, not really.” “Slow down, Trev.” “Ugh, that’s grotty!” “No worries, he’ll be right.” “Bloody nora!”
I used Kiwi instead of Australian cause there’s a larger Polynesian population in New Zealand
But anyway
Sky’s Hylian is based on Korean
Hyrule, Dawn, and Aurora are besties
Hyrule has this huge sketchbook that’s basically a plant encyclopedia without words. It has really detailed pictures he drew of any plant he’s come across starting at age 8 so that he knows which is poisonous, toxic, or deadly and which aren’t
Most of them he learned from experience
Wild cuts Florian’s hair properly, they walked in on him trying to cut it himself and did so horribly so Wild steps in like “I may be shit at this too but I can at least what I’m doing”
Wind has canonically killed a man and we need to address that more
Also probably could and very much would to do it again
Age Headcanons (I know they have official age ranges but like I'm ignoring that)
Time: Physically; mid-30s Twilight: 19 going on 20 Warriors: 24 Sky: 21 Hyrule: 17 going on 18 (Ha) Legend: 21 going on 22 Four: 17 Wind: 13 Wild: 18 going on 19
So, this is technically a theory but it also counts as a headcanon so here it is:
My theory on the Chain becoming, well, The Chain
Each Link was pulled through (read: Walked through, thrown, forcefully pulled, etc.) a portal in order of the timeline. This means they were all thrown into Wild’s Hyrule since they’re at the end of said timeline
This also means that some Links were dropped off at the same time, just in different locations, in order it went:
Sky: Gerudo Desert  Four: Goron City (He just kinda sets on fire) Legend, Time, and Wind: The Great Plateau (Time), Lurelin Village (Legend), Zora’s Domain (Wind) Twilight and Hyrule: Hebra Mountains (Twilight), Korok Forest (Hyrule) Warriors: Hyrule Castle
Wild and Hyrule were the first to meet, they were in the Korok Forest when a portal opened above them and dropped Hyrule through it
I just like the idea of the first game Link meeting the most recent game Link
When one meets another, their triforces will glow, and after they’ve (most) all branched off into pairs or groups, their triforce will glow and give a tugging sensation, telling them to follow it essentially, and leads them all to the Spring of Courage
That’s all I got
The Chain goes to Wild’s Zora's domain and meets Sidon for the first time and are like “who in the fuck is that” cause it’s this fucking HUGE shark Zora with this thousand-yard stare and when he sees Wild he turns into this love-sick puppy and they’re all like “??”
Hyrule hates it when any of them insult his era, cause he's someone who fully believes it's not a hopeless world despite it proving time again that it doesn't care for him
Hyrule is the only one who doesn't have a last name, not in a case of has one and just didn't/doesn't know it (read: Time and Wild) he literally just doesn't have one. Any records of his blood family they could find only listed the first names. No surname given
Time and Twi have the same angry face, Twi will just bare more teeth (well duh)
Twilight has to physically stop himself from chasing things that are thrown, but you can see his head and eyes immediately follow whatever it is
Hyrule's hylian is based on Thai
I have a royalty au who wants to hear more about it?
No one?
Oh well gonna talk about it anyway
Legend: Eldest Prince Hyrule: Youngest Prince Warriors: Personal Guard to Prince Legend Wild: Personal Guard to Prince Hyrule Wind: Wanted Pirate Twilight: Head Groom Four: Local Blacksmith Time: Butler Sky: Local Baker/Former Knight
Fable: Eldest Princess/Twin to Prince Legend Aurora: Queen of Calatia Dawn: Youngest Princess of Calatia Artemis: Personal Guard to Princess Fable Florian: Local Apothecary Tetra: Captain of the Ghost Ship/Wanted Pirate Dusk: Royal Librarian Dot: Local Florist Lullaby: Housekeeper Sun: Sky's Wife/Local Baker/Former Priestess
Additional Characters:
Ravio: "Humble" Bard Malon: Time's Wife/Owner of Lon Lon Ranch Hilda: Queen of Lorule/Best Friend to Prince Legend Styla: Princess of Hytopia Impa: Princess Fable's Lady-In-Waiting
If you’re on the discord then u already know a good bit about it but that’s all you’re getting for now :]
alright I'm done

Hi !! For the ask game, breath of the wild for fandom and zelink for ship 🧐
Breath of the Wild!
Favourite character
I love Riju! I can't help it, I see a child forced to be a leader of her people, left with the burden of the dead on her shoulders and unable to do her task without help, but it too proud to admit it to her people, so she has to rely on an outsider....and I adopt them. It's the same reason Taya and Capella are my faves in Pathologic, haha. But also Riju's remarkably good-spirited about her whole deal, her oracle sand-seal Patricia who only speaks in puns, and a town of adult women who are entirely reliant on her.
Least Favourite Character
Revali. I wish there was a little more going on with this bird to justify his attitude beyond simple jealousy/rivalry, and I've seen some great fanon elaborations on him that I've really enjoyed (esp. regarding his friendship with Zelda, which I've fully accepted into my wheelhouse), but if we're going strictly off canon, he's not got a lot going on, and I wish there was a little more!
OH, but also Purah. Not in terms of her characterization necessarily, but how much she's coded to appeal to the worst types of gamers. First she's my beloathed trope of immortal loli, and then she's THE main fanservice in ToTK as aged up basic sexy girl, and everything about her design and everything squicks me out terribly. She and Robbie are so much fun in Hyrule Warriors, but I hate interacting with her within the BOTW/TOTK timeline, because you always have to deal with all that nonsense.
5 Favourite Ships
This is hard! I don't really ship too many people in Breath of the Wild? I find the world so much more interesting, but like.
Ganon/Link/Zelda - The beating heart of the series and their fascinating/godly destiny/duty ties them altogether, and although BOTW/TOTK outright refuse to give Ganon anything even vaguely resembling a character, I still think it's intriguing! I have so many ideas swirling in my head about how you could only have to tweak a few memories to make Ganon a more justified villain in TOTK that would actually make this compelling.
Cece/Lasli - Fashion lesbians! I think Lasli's practicality would clash interestingly with Cece being a diva, it would be a disaster, but also quite cute, I think! There's of course, the tragedy of Lasli's dead ex inbetween them, that's always fun to explore.
Riju/Yunobo - This is my weird crackship that I really developed while playing the spinoff, Hyrule Warriors, Age of Calamity. Their relationship to their mentors is very similar, their hangups about leadership and their place in their community is very similar, and they both love zooming across the game map. They are also very similar in age! If you play the games in Japanese, where we don't have the weird surfer dub for Yunobo, Yunobo and Riju are both 13 years old, and they're both very endearing.
Paya/Tauro - I love how genuinely positive and cute they are in ToTK! I'm so glad that Paya moved on from her crush on Link and instantly found somebody who actually validates her scholarly and leadership skills everyday, and encourages her to be her best self. They have a fun banter.
Koltin/Loone - Another fun little crackship! The girl who's obsessed with leviathans and guardians, and Koltin, THE monster guy. He knows everything about monsters and thinks they're misunderstood! I feel like they would get along. It's a shame we can't hook them up in-game.
Character I find Attractive
Ganondorf. Duh. He's a handsome man.
Character I would Marry
Teba seems like a good husband and dad. Also he's just very cool, haha. Or maybe Purah? I feel like we'd probably get along.
Character I would be Best Friends With
Gosh, probably Sidon! He's very supportive and nice. I feel like I would thrive with that sort of energy in my life. And I could help him be a better leader. Or Purah and/or Robbie, they're very hectic and manic but real dedicated to their work, and I am nothing at heart, if no a workaholic myself, lol.
Unpopular Opinion
I've seen more consensus agree with me lately, as the hype around ToTK has started to fade away, but I'm very frustrated by the Zonai and the way they handled that! It's so frustrating to see Zelda, whose lesson in BoTW was that her Father was wrong, the kingdom and its tenets were wrong, blind faith was wrong and that it was her love for her friends that saved her in he end--then learn the lesson in ToTK that monarchy is fine, everybody should just attempt to emulate the past, and that everything in the past was good.
I think constantly about the fact that Rauru's four sages, the people who swore fealty to him--have no identities. No names, no faces, no real agency or personality beyond their duty to the sacred stone, and their species. There's something very unsettling about that, and something very unsettling coupled with the Depths, this creepy, hollow, empty place that the Zonai mined out and left nothing in return. The Doylist explanation is, of course, that there are no writing credits on ToTK and they just didn't have the time to flesh out the Sages or the Depths, because they had to move on to making the new Zelda game for Switch 2. But the Watsonian explanation could have been really fascinating, it could make the Zonai more morally ambiguous. These aliens who came to Earth to mine the Earth for power and pulled people into their thrall for that power--which they saw as ultimately a tool to progress everybody's society, but also can be seen from Ganondorf's perspective as something horrifying. What is the worth of progress if it comes at the expense of identity?
But that would involve the writers having to grapple with the colonialism inherent to the premise they are creating here. And they want Rauru to be good, Hyrule to be good and Ganondorf to be straightforwardly evil. And that's sad to me, because Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, to an extent, are about the failures of the old rulers and their approaches, and how our heroes have to do better. And the fact Nintendo refused to do that here thematically makes me sad!
Most badass character
Urbosa! I LOVE fighting as her in Hyrule Warriors, and she's also just such a fun design and cool and supportive at the same time.
Pairing I am Not Fond Of
Sidon/Link. Not that I hate it or anything! I can see it, it's a very plausible pairing, but often a lot of people sideline Zelda entirely when they write it, and that's annoying to me. I don't like when yaoi shippers discard the most important women to a man's life to make it gay.
Characters I feel the Writers screwed up
Ganondorf! Evil brown guy is just evil because he's brown. Very annoying to not even try to make that feel more nuanced in the year 2023, but whatever.
Favourite Friendship
Robbie and Purah! I love their dumb banter and bickering in all of the games. Inventor duo, they hate each other and would die for each other, and when they work together, they can make the impossible happen. I love how much they both fight for credit on petty things, but they do always say the other was instrumental to their success. Their fighting style in Hyrule Warriors, where Robbie is the one piloting their mech-suit, while Purah just perches on the shoulder and shows off when they do their special attack--everything to me!
Zelink beneath the readmore!
When I Started Shipping It
Probably as SOON as I got to that memory in BOTW, where they're in the rain, and Zelda asks him if he had a chance to be anything else other than a knight, would he have taken it? And the look he gives her as he turns back, and the way the scene is framed when he's jolted out of the memory...argh, that's when the brainworms really started. But also I really did like that moment where she tries to get him to eat a frog, after complimenting his ability to tame horses. It's just cute, idk! They're the thematic core of the story. It's about the inevitable destiny of it, and how Zelda bucks against their fated destiny, but Link embraces it, because he is a man guided by devotion and courage, and her wisdom means she knows it's a bad idea--but how can she do anything but love it/him? There's something just a bit doomed to all of their interactions, and it makes me go insane!
My Thoughts (Good/Bad)
I find it bad for worldbuilding as a whole, but fascinating for their dynamic, that Skyward Sword makes Zelda the living incarnation of Hylia, because then you're constantly left with the question: is Link simply extending his devotion towards the Goddesses by loving Zelda, or does he love Zelda and the Goddess separately? Is that even possible to separate Zelda from the Goddess? What does it mean for your temple of devotion to be a person? And in BOTW/ToTK where they are haunted by failure and loss, where there's unspoken resentment towards each other they both have to let go of, Zelda in the past, and Link in the present, that infuses their dynamic with such fun tension, even when they do wholeheartedly love each other and do just get along. I find it tragic, and fun, and sweet and sad all at once. I love a good destined lovers, where neither is entirely sure if that's a good idea, or there's a certain exhaustion to it, because it's inevitable anyway...
Things Done in Fanfic That Annoy Me
When in post-botw fics they have kids, rule the restored kingdom of Hyrule together, and don't seem to have any trauma. They're both feral, they're of the Wild now, and if Link actually loved Zelda and Hyrule, he'd never support her remaking Hyrule Kingdom ever again. They're just not capable of having a happy nuclear family in that way, sorry!
People also make Link SO masculine in such a weird way sometimes in fanfic--no??? Even if you don't headcanon him trans, he's like...so distanced from the kind of daddy dom masculinity that so many fanfic writers seem to default onto a lot of sex?? He's very gender-fluid and I just can't ever see him in that kind of aggressive way. It's always very jarring and unpleasant. I also think people really overplay the enemies-to-lovers of pre-canon BOTW, which sometimes leads to fics where they're like...doing petty revenge on each other or like having dramatic blowouts--which always feels a bit unrealistic to me? I'm very picky about the zelinks I like ^^;;;
I also just hate modern AU in general. They don't make sense outside of the feudal system and those external pressures/divine pressures!! Bodyguard/celebrity will NEVER hit in the same way as knight/princess.
Who I'd be Comfortable With Them Ending Up With, if Not Each Other
Link has vibes with a lot of people! Honestly, in Windwaker, I don't ship Link/Tetra at all! Link and Medli is far more compelling to me. And TP, Midna and Zelda are so in love, and Link's just kind of there, he doesn't even know Zelda xD In BOTW, I feel like Impa/Zelda makes a lot of sense, and Link has chemistry with all sorts: Sidon, Paya, Beedle, all the random NPCs that flirt with him. I'm so rarely a single shipper, haha.
My Happily Ever After For Them
Wandering through the world as travelling diplomats/adventurers, with their home in Hateno whenever they're taking a break, and vacationing everywhere, as Zelda slowly writes her scientific 1000 page dissertation about the nature of the world, and Link writes the ultimate cookbook. The Triforce calls them to duty, but they mostly ignore those urges. They're done with divine duty--they only have duty towards each other and the world now.

Excerpt
For the probably four people who enjoy my Clack | AkuRoku mashup stories... I’m gonna feed you so damn hard with the Ocean in Your Veins series. I’m so damn excited to bring it to you XD Mind you... I need to write part 2 first. And then part 3.
I did finish the 1st draft of chapter 1 of part 2 though. It’s got me eager to keep writing more. Have a juicy excerpt!
All the context you need for this is that Zack (going by Zak’kusu in the first chapter) is a fish creature, same as Axel (think Sidon from BotW or the fish monster from Shape of Water). Zack wants to be human so he can make eyes at Cloud (Roxas’ brother, because duh) and Zack’s finally found a way to make it happen and has invited himself over to Roxas’ house where it all will go down.
“Axel. Don’t do that. Not here. Not now.” Roxas tugs on Axel’s arms.
There comes a knock at the door.
All eyes land on it.
“Rox, are you okay? I forgot my wet-suit,” comes Cloud’s voice.
“Both of you, out. Now!” Roxas whispers with a harsh edge at the ch’ta and points to the door with a furious scowl. “I'm fine. It's just the TV. Hang on. I'll turn it down!” He calls out and twitches on the TV before he heads to the door.
Axel makes for the backdoor. He chitters at Zak'kusu. Zak'kusu, however, doesn’t want to go. He’s annoyed at Roxas’ attitude. Roxas would have never talked to Cloud about him. It boils his blood. He will talk to Cloud one way or another. But he still hopes that the magic spell will kick in. And soon. He glares at Axel, takes a step to the wall, and opens the first door that he sees. He ducks, so as not to knock his head, steps through to tiled flooring, and casts a glare behind himself at the other two occupants of the house.
Axel lets out a displeased click.
“Go. Leave him and go,” Roxas whispers and waves in a shoo’ing motion across the living space.
Axel leaves. The backdoor shuts. The bathroom door shuts. The front door opens.
“Hey. Are you sure you left it here? I thought you packed everything after our dive this morning.”
Zak'kusu finds himself in the bathroom. He stays bowed as he’s much too tall for this space. It’s dark in here. The moonlight filters through the diffused bathroom window and paints everything in a cool blue hue. He spots the mirror by the basin, walks over, and leans down until he can see himself in the mirror. Even in the gloom, he can see how his face remains unchanged. Except he’s covered in green goop. He clutches the basin in his hands. His claws dig in and something cracks. Why is it taking so long? He whispers the enchantment to himself again and glowers. It’s even more frustrating with Cloud just outside the door. He hears the two humans talk.
A tap comes at the window. He leans over and opens it. More light streams in. Axel’s on the other side. His spines are up.
‘What is your problem? Get out of there!’ he snarls.
“I’m not leaving until I’ve talked to Cloud.”
‘You’re insane. Cloud can’t see you like that’
“I’ll turn human in a minute. I know I will.”
‘It’s not going to happen. Aerith told you shit to get you to stop annoying her. That’s all that green goop is’ Axel’s lower half of his face is almost the same red as his forehead. His teeth are bared. ‘Get out’
“I can’t fit through the window. I’m much too—whoa” Zak'kusu steadies himself. He feels weird. His skin’s all tingly. The room looks bigger. Axel’s mouth hangs open. His eyes stare wide.
Voices from beyond the door draw near—
“I’m pretty sure I left it in the bathtub.”
“No, it’s not! It’s down by the boat,” comes Roxas’ frantic response.
“Let me just check—”
The light comes on. Axel disappears from the window. Zak'kusu whirls around. He stares. Cloud’s standing there, hand poised on the door handle and the other on the light switch. Zak'kusu can't see anything but those big sky-blue eyes that stare at him. See him. Finally see him again. It is him. Zak'kusu is sure of it now.
Eyes dart off him. Cloud's mouth flaps. Some sort of sound comes out of him. Zak'kusu forgets to breathe. He tries to chirp in greeting. No sound comes out.
“I’m so sorry!” Cloud flees and shuts the door.
Zak'kusu’s left in the empty bathroom. The light’s still on.
“I… I… I can explain everything! Please don’t freak out,” comes Roxas’ hasty words.
“Why is there a naked man in your bathroom?” Cloud sounds breathless.
Zak'kusu turns back around to the mirror. He stumbles. He grabs the sink. He startles. His hands! He looks at himself in the reflection. He jerks with another start. Pale! He’s all pink and pale. He touches his face. Smooth. Smooth and flat. He pinches the end of his nose. So squishy and weird. His eyes are so small. His spines… he runs his hand through his… hair! He has hair! Thick. Dark. Black. His eyes are blue. He thumbs over the scar on his cheek with a scowl. He can still hear Cloud outside. With a deep breath, and a grin so big it hurts his cheeks, he turns and takes running—stumbling—steps toward the door. His body feels all weird and uncoordinated. He slams into the door. His grasp on the handle slips. He gets it and yanks it open. He beams and steps out into the living room. A laugh leaves him as he sees Roxas and Cloud.
He tries to say something. His words stick in his throat. He switches to human language. Still nothing comes out.
Cloud’s averting his gaze. Roxas looks as red as a lobster. “Get back inside and put a towel over yourself,” comes the feral shout.
Zak'kusu doesn’t understand what Roxas is mad about. He’s human. Everything is fine. He tries to say as much.
Roxas continues to point angrily at him. “Towel! Now!”
Zak'kusu looks down at himself. He twitches. He’s grossly pale and pink everywhere. He turns around and goes back to the bathroom. He’s naked. Is that what the humans are upset about? He supposes he’s never seen a human naked. But he’s always been naked in front of Roxas. It’s something he’s never thought about until now. He grabs one of the white towels and throws it over his head. He can’t see but carefully makes his way back, feeling around for the wall. He comes back out to hear—
“What is going on?” Cloud asks, a cautious yet distressing hitch in his voice.
"Look, I can totally explain this—oh my god, Zack, you moron!”
Zak'kusu can’t see anything except for the white towel covering his face. He feels a tug. The towel comes off.
“Around your waist like this,” Roxas snaps.
Zak'kusu holds the towel in place like Roxas shows him and watches Roxas walk into the bathroom. He turns back and looks at Cloud. Cloud is right there. So close. So much bigger looking up close. He looks so lovely. Zak'kusu doesn't know why his voice isn’t working. He tries to say something. His throat vibrates. Strangled sounds leave him.
Roxas brushes past again, something dark in his hands. “Here is your wet-suit.” He hands it to Cloud.
“Can you please explain who this strange naked man is and what he’s doing  in your house? Do we need to call the cops?” Cloud keeps a wary eye on Zak'kusu.
Roxas groans. “This is Zack. He’s… he’s…” Roxas stares at Zak'kusu. He looks back at Cloud, the scowl now replaced with a smile. He laughs. “He’s an intern from MU. He’s a lighthouse tech and is going to be living with me and helping me with my thesis. He’s from the north so has some experience in and knowledge about the ecology of colder climates. You know how I’m studying the special properties of plankton and I think I can get more insight about it when comparing findings from the northern pole and how it compares to the warmer climate around Costa Del Sol. Isn’t that right, Zack?” Roxas glares at him.
Zak'kusu smiles with all his teeth. His lips feel funny. He tries to tone it down. Cloud’s giving him a funny look. He nods.
“Why isn’t he saying anything?” Cloud whispers in a poor attempt to be discreet.
“He isn’t a native speaker. He’s… a bit shy about speaking.”
“Oh. Okay… but… why didn’t you tell me about this earlier? I was just here this morning. He wasn’t here,” Cloud says quietly, holding the wet-suit in front of himself like a protective blanket.
“I… uh… I wasn’t expecting him until next week. I was going to bring it up closer to the time. But he came by early. Wanted to get settled in before starting his work. Isn’t that right, Zack?”
Zak'kusu nods again. He can’t stop smiling. He can’t believe it worked. He’s human! He feels the need to trill. A squeak leaves him.
“Okay, well… I’m… going to go now.” Cloud backs up with slow steps, not turning around as he goes.
Zak'kusu waves eagerly. The towel drops. Roxas snaps and yells at Zak'kusu. Cloud turns and hurries out.
“See you, Rox. Bye… Zack,” he says and shuts the door.
A laugh bursts out of Zak'kusu. Cloud said his name… well… sort of. He could burst with joy. He laughs harder.
The next chapter will be challenging as Zack gets used to human life. It’s going to be so fun exploring things through his clueless lens. Any input/suggestions/bright ideas on what Zack might see or do or experience is totally welcomed as I’m cobbling this together.

Ooh, Zelda / Mipha hcs maybe?
🌸Mipha was a bit of a confused mess. She had the biggest crush on both Link and Zelda, but tended to drift a little more towards Link because she never really expected Zelda to like her back
🌸I mean.. she may have been the Zora princess, sure, but in her eyes Zelda was so much more. She was the princess of all of Hyrule. Why would she bother herself with her?
🌸Not to mention Mipha kinda had no idea if she liked girls or not. She always saw her hanging around with Link, so she assumed she had feelings for him as well
🌸But, obviously, Zelda didn’t see Mipha as “just the Zora princess”. She saw her as this beautiful, strong, intelligent and kind woman who she totally didn’t have feelings for, nope not at all
🌸Zelda had a huge crush on Mipha, but she also had a few worries of her own. One, she too saw Mipha around Link often, and assumed that she loved him. While she wasn’t wrong, she didn’t realize that someone can have crushes on multiple people. Duh
🌸Sadly, Mipha and Zelda didn’t really get to ever properly tell each other how they felt before the events of the calamity. But they got pretty close to doing so, honestly
🌸Zelda LOVED spending time in Zoras domain. She tried to write it off as wildlife studies, but it was absolutely an excuse to hang out with Mipha as much as possible
🌸Mipha never wanted to say anything in fear of offending her, but she was always really intimidated by Zelda. She kinda felt like she had to be perfect, or else Zelda wouldn’t like her. Not because she thought Zelda was some jerk or whatever, but Mipha struggled a lot with confidence issues
🌸Zelda was Miphas #1 go-to for a babysitter. She just got along SO well with Sidon, and he absolutely loved her
🌸Fun fact: lil baby Sidon almost revealed Miphas crush on Zelda by running around and chanting “Mipha loves Zelda! Mipha loves Zelda!”
🌸Mipha only just ~barely~ managed to play it off as him talking about Zelda being her best friend. Much to Zeldas disappointment
🌸Zelda always resented the feeling of needing to be protected, as she stressed to Link, but there’s always been a part of her that would absolutely melt if Mipha protected her
🌸Mipha similarly has a soft spot for how intelligent Zelda is. She could listen to her talk for hours, and one of Miphas favourite things about Zelda was her voice.
🌸Zelda hates swimming.. unless it’s with a certain fish princess
🌸Zelda also has a bad habit of forgetting to eat. She gets so caught up in her work she’ll completely skip meals- but oh boy does Mipha work her hardest to try and get her out of that habit. If she’s ever working while with Mipha she’ll absolutely insist that she takes breaks and makes sure to not skip meals
🌸Mipha can be just as bad though- when she gets anxious, she tends to recede back into her own space and doesn’t really come out. Zelda is one of the few people she’ll actually let in, and she has to deliver her some food sometimes.
🌸They just love and support each other a whole lot :,(
🌸When Mipha was making the Zora armor for Link, it was around the time when she was convinced that Zelda wouldn’t like her. Awhile later though when they got even closer, and signs started popping up, Mipha started to really wonder if she made the right choice

Breath of the Resistance: Chapter 7
The drive from the desert to Zora’s Domain was the longest stretch of their trip which meant that they would once again need to stop for the night before continuing on to the last leg. Zelda was willing to stop this time, and even more willing to share a room with Link.
“I was thinking,” she said as they walked across the motel parking lot. “I want my alias to be Ari Sentara.”
“Ari Sentara?”
“A girl I used to know in school.”
“We don’t need fake identities yet,” he said. “If Dorian is involved, he’ll get suspicious if we use fake names.”
Zelda hung her head. “Damn. I really wanted to try out being a redhead.”
Link smiled. “Redhead, huh?”
“You have something against redheads?”
He shook his head. “Not at all. I had a crush on this redhead girl when I was little.”
“Oh, that’s it. You have a thing for redheads.”
“Whatever.”
Zelda grinned. “You’re blushing.”
Link’s pace quickened. “No, I’m not.”
“Yes, you are,” Zelda teased.
“You’re immature.”
“You’re immature,” Zelda mocked.
Link rolled his eyes and leaned against the front desk, speaking to the young woman who stood at the computer. She smiled and giggled when he spoke and flipped her hair over her shoulder. Zelda watched curiously at the interaction until Link returned to her side a moment later, his hands shoved in his pockets.
“We’ve got time to kill.” He sniffed at the air, catching a whiff of something good, and followed his nose down to where he hoped he would find food.
“Where are you going?” Zelda called after him.
“I’m hungry.”
Zelda didn’t bother to follow him. Instead, she wandered down the hallways and mosied about in the lobby, studying the random collection of paintings hung on the walls. It wasn’t long before Link returned. He stood at her side, chewing rather obnoxiously. Zelda turned and gawked at the plate of food in his hands.
“Where the hell did you get all that?”
“The kitchen,” he said simply. “It was free.”
“Free? How did you manage that?” She picked some grapes off of the plate and popped them into her mouth.
“That’s a good question,” he said, peering at the painting on the wall. “We were just talking. I said I was waiting for a room. She gave me a plate of food.” He paused for a moment as he came to a realization. “I think the girl behind the counter was trying to hit on me.”
“Wow.”
Link turned to Zelda, raising a questionable brow. He took a bite of a danish.
“Is that typical? Do women just throw themselves at you like that?
Link grinned and shrugged as he took another bite. “What can I say? I’m sexy.”
“You’re ridiculous.”
“Hm.” Link turned back to the painting thoughtfully.
“What?”
“Do you think they’ll make some burgers? I could go for a burger.”
“Amazing,” Zelda muttered. “Is that all you think about? Some days, you hardly say two words to me, but when it comes to food, you don’t shut your mouth.”
“I’m sorry,” Link said as he finished off the danish. “Should I talk more?”
“Just be honest,” Zelda said, crossing her arms. “You think I’m a bitch.”
Link practically choked on the second danish he attempted to devour. Once he cleared his airways, he continued with the danish.
“You didn’t answer,” Zelda said, narrowing her eyes at him.
Link shrugged. “What do you want me to say?”
“Anything! Like, a normal conversation.”
“That wasn’t in the job description,” he said. “I’m just here to make sure you don’t get killed.”
“Right,” Zelda muttered. “Of course.”
Link sighed. “What do you want from me? I have a pretty important job. Life or death, you know? Save the world from some evil bastard that somehow keeps coming back over and over and oh, use this magic sword to do it, and if you fail, Hyrule is dead. But don’t worry, this is what you were born to do. Literally. You’ve been training your whole life and shoved into a job you’re expected to just do. You got this. If your ancestors could do it, so can you. No pressure.”
Zelda turned her gaze to the painting, though she wasn’t really interested in it anymore. She hadn’t realized how similarly Link felt, and just how much they were both pressured into doing something without a second thought. Neither of them had a choice in the matter and were expected to just put their own lives on the line. And the more she realized the severity of the situation, the more daunting and hopeless it all seemed.
“I guess I never considered that,” she said softly. “You seem to have it all together.”
Link finished off his second danish. “Good, that’s how it should seem. I don’t get to have it anything but together.”
“For what it’s worth,” Zelda started. “You don’t have to around me, you know. We’re in this together, and whatever. So, might as well make the best of it.”
Link shrugged. “Might as well.”
“I’m sorry for being a bitch.”
Link smirked. “Oh, wow, and I thought this was nice Zelda the whole time.”
Zelda rolled her eyes.
“Apology accepted,” he said rather smugly.
The woman behind the desk called to them and she smiled flirtatiously as she handed Link the key. Zelda followed him down the hallway until they got into their room and she collapsed with a sigh onto one of the beds.
“These motels are getting old,” she said. “I’ll be glad when we get to Zora’s Domain.” Zelda propped herself up on her elbow. “I bet you’re eager to get there, too,” she said with a grin.
“Why would I be?”
“To see Mipha,” Zelda said, as if it were obvious.
“Oh. Sure.”
“She likes you.”
“Apparently all the women do.”
Zelda rolled her eyes. “Right, of course, because you’re sexy.”
Link sat on the edge of his bed and grinned at her. “Thanks.”
“I wasn’t calling you sexy.”
“But you just did.”
“No! I was… what you said… in the lobby.”
“Right. Duh.”
“You never answered my question the other day,” Zelda said quickly. She pulled out her phone and pretended to busy herself on it in an attempt to hide the blush on her face. “Do you like her?”
“I’m madly in love with her.”
Zelda looked up and met his gaze. “You are?”
Link grinned. “Yes. We’re going to get married and have little half Zora babies.”
Zelda wrinkled her nose at him and turned back to her phone.
“Jealous?”
“Hylia, no.”
Link folded his arms across his chest. “Don’t ever talk to me and my children again.”
Zelda tossed her phone onto the bed. “Well, don’t lead her on if you’re not,” she said.
“Thanks, I needed relationship advice. You’re so wise.”
“Stop talking,” Zelda muttered. She leaned over and turned off the light. She listened as Link shuffled around in the other bed.
“So, Ari has red hair?” Link’s voice said.
“Yeah.”
“Hm.”
Zelda turned over and smiled.
*****
This time, when Link awoke, Zelda was still sleeping soundly in the other bed. He watched her sleep for a moment before sitting up and stretching his arms. He reached behind him to grab a pillow and threw it across the room at Zelda. Zelda groaned and swatted at the air with her hand before opening her eyes and, upon seeing Link awake, she groaned once more.
“It’s too early,” she said as she pulled the blankets over her shoulder.
“If we leave now, we can get there around noon,” Link informed her. “We still have a few hours to drive.”
“What’s the hurry?” Zelda said, turning over in the bed. “It’s not like there’s some impending doom on our horizon or anything.”
Link pulled the blankets off of her as he walked by the bed. “I’ll see you down there,” he said. “I’m getting food.”
In the dining room, Link grabbed himself a couple of danishes. He walked back towards the lobby, happily eating his breakfast, and leaned against the front desk to check out.
“Where’s your girlfriend?” the woman asked with a smile.
“Ha. Please.” Link slapped his payment down on the desk.
“Oh, come on,” the woman said. “You know how many guys would kill to be with her?”
“Well, I know her father pretty well,” Link said. “And I’m not in any hurry to die.”
The woman laughed. “As the daughter of Hyrule’s ruler, I’m sure she doesn’t have much of a say with who she ends up with, anyway.”
Link took a bite of his danish and chewed it slowly. “You think they still do that? Arranged marriages?”
The woman shrugged. “Her ancestors have ruled since the dawn of Hyrule,” she said. “I’m sure that’s a matter they take very seriously. Gotta keep those good bloodlines going, you know?”
“Hm.” Link looked up as Zelda came around the corner.
“Let’s go,” she said with a yawn.
“Good luck,” the woman behind the desk said to Link with a wide grin.
Zelda followed Link quickly out of the motel and across the parking lot.
“Good luck?” she echoed. “Why did she say that?”
“No idea,” Link muttered. “She’s crazy.”
Once more, they got into the car and Link pulled out on the road, following the highway north towards Zora’s Domain. They talked casually to pass the time; Link about his childhood on the farm, Zelda about her antics in the palace. To Link’s surprise, she had a way of getting into as much trouble as he had, keeping the guards in the castle constantly on their toes.
As Link predicted, it was just after noon when they finally pulled off the highway and followed the road to Zora’s Domain. Sidon and Mipha were waiting just outside the palace as Link and Zelda approached, and Sidon immediately took Zelda’s hand in his with a bow.
“Princess Zelda,” he said. “I trust you had a nice trip?”
“Link’s not the worst company to have,” she said with a smirk towards Link. “It was fine.”
“Let’s not waste a minute,” Sidon said with a burst of energy. “I’m excited to see this Divine Beast once it’s activated.”
Link and Zelda followed Sidon and Mipha up to the reservoir where Vah Ruta slept. Zelda followed Sidon to the main control panel, and just as she did with the other three Divine Beasts, she placed the Sheikah slate on the panel and within moments, Vah Ruta came to life. Sidon spoke excitedly at her side as the Divine Beast started to move about. It’s large trunk lifted in the air and water spewed out of it.
“Everything seems to be just fine,” Zelda said as she returned the slate. “I just need to make sure Mipha can control it without any problems.” She looked around, now realizing that she and Sidon were alone. Sidon walked ahead across the Divine Beast and Zelda trotted over to his side.
“I’m sure she’ll have no problem with Vah Ruta,” Sidon said. “She’s been very excited to see this thing in action.” He stopped and looked out with a smile.
Zelda followed his gaze to Vah Ruta’s trunk where Link and Mipha stood talking together. She watched them for a moment, wondering what they were talking about. It seemed to Zelda that perhaps Link had the same feelings that Mipha had for him. It seemed rather odd. And what was more strange was the sinking feeling in Zelda’s chest; a combination of disappointment and even jealousy.
But why should she feel that way?
“You see it, too, then,” Sidon said, interrupting her thoughts.
Zelda turned to him as Sidon continued.
“Muzu tells her time after time that she has no business with the Hylians. But you know how our elder Zora are. They hold grudges.” Sidon smiled to Zelda. “For what it’s worth, my father and I believe in strengthening our alliance with your father. That’s why Mipha is involved in the SFU. You have our support no matter what.”
“Thank you, Sidon,” Zelda said softly. She mulled over what Link had told her the other day. If Dorian was a double agent, they were all in danger, including Mipha and the Zoras. Zelda knew how their relationship with the Zoras had been strained over the years. If the Zora found out that the Hylians let in a double agent, the country would be torn once more, and they could not afford that with Ganon’s undoubted return on the horizon. Being involved in with the SFU only put Mipha in danger. For the sake of her safety and the safety of all the Zora, perhaps it was best if Mipha were no longer involved in the impending war.

Headcanons for forgetting your loves and them being like “wtf bro” and you’re like “I’m just trying to do the stuff people keep telling me to do”
Characters Included: Revali, Daruk, Mipha, Urbosa
Just a note: I personally don’t think that the Champions were actually with you, but just imagine they were. I also think that you can’t hear anything they say or see them other than an alert to when you can use their power/ them appearing when the power is used.
Revali
Is probably the most upset that you don’t remember him
Also the most upset that you are getting into the most dangerous situations
“Well now, I’ve seen that face before.” A voice calls smoothly from the air, “You look confused.”
“Are you Revali?”
*anime gasp*
“You don’t recognize this voice? I know you haven’t heard it for 100 years but surely you wouldn’t forget your lover?”
101% instant heartbreak
“Be careful.” He warns every time you take a step through the Divine Beast.
“Well I’ll be plucked,” (I don’t recall him saying this but he does omf), “You had me worried sick.”
Oooo spooky ghost appears
“At least now I know where you’ve been for the past 100 years.”
He observes your current state, just how he remembered, maybe a few more scratches
“You don’t remember me, do you?”
“I don’t, I’m sorry.”
“If I had more time, I’d be happy to spend it telling you everything. Fate calls. I suppose our chat will have to wait.”
There are times when he worries and casually sets off Revali’s Gale, causing you to get caught in the updraft and soar to safety
“You need to quit getting yourself into these situations.” He says into the open air, knowing you couldn’t hear him.
TBH I feel like I can’t really write a romantic affiliation with Daruk, purely because I was always like “He’s such a cool dude” and I see him as a cuddly bff. Sorry! But you can totally interpret this hc however you please :)
Daruk
“I always knew you’d come back. Y’know, I never stopped believing in you!”
“Is this Daruk?”
“Of course it’s Daruk! Who else would be?” A billowing laugh echoes through the Divine Beast, “Lost some of your marbles in the past 100 years, eh?”
You let out a huff, “I guess you could say I lost all of them.”
“You can’t remember anything, can you?”
My best friend has been sleeping for 100 years, has forgotten me and all of my other friends, wtffffffffffff
He’s so optimistic and tries to keep his cool, he really wants you to remember
Occasionally while venturing through the Divine Beast, you’ll hear a “watch out” or “If you need any help, I’m right here”
He is probably the most supportive of all the Champions
“You did it, I knew you could.” A glowing figure appeared beside you, the Champion Daruk, a big ass smile on his face and his arms spread as if to crush you in a hug
Low key tugs at his heart strings that he can’t hug you
While traveling he is trailing beside you and just chatting away like you can hear him
It kind of annoys the others
It really annoys Revali
At night he keeps watch if you aren’t staying at a stable or inn
He is roaming as far as he can, making sure that no monsters are near
He protect
Mipha
She is so happy to see you like omg
“I must say... that I am so happy to see that this day has finally arrived.”
“Mipha?”
“I’ve wondered where you ran off to for so long.” She notices your facial expression and raised eyebrows, “Are you alright?”
“I’ve heard a lot about you. It’s nice to finally put a voice to it all.”
“Do you not... Have you forgotten me?”
She is spooked 5000 while you’re maneuvering through the Divine Beast
“Please, watch your step.”
You start just talking into the open air, hoping shes listening
“Sidon told me that you made this armor, for me actually.”
“I did.”
“So that means that we were something more than friends?” You waited a moment, but got no response. “Mipha, I’m sorry I can’t rem-”
It’s okay. All that I can ask is that you are safe. I’m glad you’re safe.”
It kind of feels like you’re being followed the entire way through the beast. As if she was trailing you.
“Thank you. For I am now allowed by this freedom to be with you once again.”
Instant heart break
(I actually got the feels during Mipha’s cut scene)
“You’re beautiful.” You said, a crooked smile spreading across your face. You can’t believe that you had forgotten her. How could you? Her eyes widen for a moment, a streak of embarrassment crossing her features.
“and you as well.”
While traveling she stays close, ready to heal you if you get even the smallest cut
She yearns for the days when you were whole, the world was calm, and the two of you were together
But she’s glad she can be by your side, even if just for a moment
Urbosa
She is the most understanding of your condition
Yes, she’s upset about it, but figures it’s easier to not mention anything
Yet, she holds onto the hopes that you’ll remember someday
“Well, well, well... You sure do know how to keep a woman waiting.”
“If I’m correct, you’re Urbosa, the Gerudo Champion.”
*Shes like duh, why are you asking?
“I am, and you’re [Name], correct?” You nodded, “It’s nice to finally see you again. I’ve missed you.”
While you’re going through the Beast, she is like a coach. She tells you how to move its functions, the best way to get to certain spots and where the terminals were
“Great job, I’m here if you need anything.”
“Urbosa?” You ask into the abyss that is Naboris.
“Hmm? What is it?”
“I’ve heard stories.”
“Oh? What kind of stories?”
“We’re we...together?”
“It depends, do you think we were together?”
You push your lips together, trying your best to recall the few memories you regained. “Yes. I know we were. We had to be! Right?”
When she appears, you’re like holy shit
 wowowowowowow
“I knew you wouldn’t let me down.”
“I wouldn’t dream of it.”
Request: Hello again! I loved what you did with the kid scenarios, Revali's was my favorite personally. But I was curious about what are some head canons you can create if s/o was in the place of Link and had all the champions' spirits following them around. The thing is, s/o had a romantic relationship with a champion (Revali, Daruk, Mipha, and Urbosa) but doesn't remember a thing. So how do the champions react finding there s/o saving them but not remembering their romance, and what do they do about it

A, B, E-H, U-V, and Z!
Send a letter!
A - Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.) Friendships, pairings, threesomes, etc. are allowed. Alfonse/Summoner (DUH), and now I’m starting to brotp Hector/Ephraim bc of choose your legends
B - A pairing–platonic, romantic or sexual–that you initially didn’t consider, but someone changed your mind. Kaze/Corrin. Can’t remember who exactly got me into it though… 😜
E - Have you added anything cracky/hilarious to your fandom? If so, what? Does this count?
F - What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom? Smash and FE are both banking on about 13 years (oh man, I’m really aging myself here)
G - Have you ever had an OTP? If so, do you remember your first one? Who was in it? Has anyone ever NOT had an otp? I think my first ever was Ryu/Chun Li from Street Fighter?
H - What is your favorite source text for fandom stuff (e.g., TV shows, movies, books, anime, Western animation, etc.)? Video games, easily
U - Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites. Alfonse from Fire Emblem because he strong AND smart, and also because you could like, brush some dust off his armor and he would thank you a thousand times over for it he’s just so grateful for your presence.Edgeworth from Ace Attorney because he comes off as this super badass prosecutor when you first meet him but he’s actually a huge nerd for samurai tv shows lmaoSidon from Zelda AND NOT JUST BC OF HIS LOOKS ALTHOUGH HE IS V HANDSOME. Because he’s also the biggest hype man out of all the people who help you in each region of botw. Also, he’s the one I sympathize with the most because while the others are very helpful (wellll maybe not Yunobo), they never really had any sort of relationship with the champions. Mipha was his sister, and after conquering the divine beast she was stuck in, you can tell he really misses her and ugh my heart
V - Which character do you relate to most? Maya from Ace Attorney bc I just want food
Z - Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go! (Prompts optional but encouraged.) lol isn’t that what I just did?
