wait. wait. wait. ive been staring at ur latest comic for awhile now and i think i've noticed something about the colors? which are amazing, first of all- just gotta get that out there cuz i adore that soft pink and deep green combo

but i just realized that throughout most of the comic u use both in equal parts it seems. to separate bg + fg and such, to highlight characters/objects, etc.

but then when vash gets back to their room, all the walls are that dark green. and, bit by bit, the pink totally falls off. by the end, it's nothing but constant dark green as vash starts to cry

but then wolfwood slams in and he's backed by that soft pink. and suddenly the comic is nothing BUT pink. soft lines and whites and gentle pink tones EVERYWHERE to just. SO tastefully highlight the little details.

LIKE. WAS THIS INTENTIONAL?! i almost wanna guess that it wasn't since all those green panels w vash crying are all closeups focused on his expression so it makes sense to just put the simple green behind it and all attention on him so the pink just isn't Needed

BUT AT THE SAME TIME THE EFFECT IS SO MASTERFUL THAT I WANNA BELIEVE IT WAS ABSOLUTELY INTENTIONAL

HEHE..... first of all, thank you for looking at my comic so closely, THAT'S LIKE... REALLY SWEET and a huge compliment to hear, thank u thank u

and yes, it was intentional, especially more towards the end!!! in general, the colors are meant to serve as a mood indicator, so a balance of them in a scene would just mean a neutral "okay-ness" and have a functional serve to separate background / foreground / subject matter... deep green signifies introspection or incoming sadness (especially on pg5 when vash cries), and pink signifies wolfwood, which, not an emotion but he is happiness, someone that helps vash lose his doubts in a matter of seconds -- which is why those last few pages are just pink white and lines, and the panels are gone for the majority of it. i wanted to show their unity and togetherness!

while vash still has his issues of just Not saying anything about his loneliness, his feelings are alleviated temporarily with wolfwood's presence and he's just grateful that his paranoia didn't become true, and that wolfwood is genuine, true to his word, when he means he'll be following vash/staying with him. even though it's mission-bound, vash would probably still feel guiltily comforted by that fact.

I'M GLAD IT WAS PARTICULARLY EFFECTIVE IN THIS COMIC because i definitely could've pushed it more... i figured it was a minor thing that not a lot of ppl would care for, but more ppl enjoyed it and noticed the colors than i thought, so i'm glad it worked out!!!

#asks #thank you for sending this!!!#and for being so observant and putting it into words -- its really sweet!!!! hehe #ok this bit here is a bit off topic but. i forgot to mention in my original tags. very minor hc but on #p4 when i drew their beds -- ww bed is the left one vash is the right one and his blankets are all folded #bc i feel like vash would develop habits of being able to leave somewhere quickly + abruptly. so he cleans up after himself #everytime he wakes up and has to leave for the day. i feel like he's ran into enough trouble that he's grown accustom to making #sure he's ready to dip whenever necessary. and id imagine he'd leave payment if he books a room for more than a night so when he has #to leave suddenly - the room owners get their pay still. just preparing stuff in advance to not make trouble for the kind ppl #that houses him. idk its a small thing! i just recall those times in the manga where after accidentally destroying a part of the town #vash makes sure to join the clean up crew and help build things up lmfao he takes responsibility. its cute #ww sees him do this for the first time once and goes “that's stupid. we're not going anywhere and we're staying for the 2 nights”#and then he'd realize soon enough that they do have to prepare to book it at any random point of the day if vash gets caught up in trouble #regardless he doesn't fold it all up like vash does since its not habitual to him and in a way hes testing vash to NOT run off and do smth #thatll get him in trouble during the day. rare hopefulness. when they start sharing beds wolfwood doesn't let him fold up the sheets #very minor thing hc sorry for rambling in This space hub all of a sudden.#in the comic also vash gets pink bg panels every time he calls out to wolfwood. happy happy #it's really not a long enough comic to push those aspects... but im glad it was noticed at all -- but ok ok im done done

#bellum x linebeck tag ramblings im not making this an actual post i just wanna throw some ideas around bc its still abstract n all that #cuz its not like. just romantic? like im not gonna sit down and treat it like some conventional relationship tho sometimes it is #like i sit down and not a single au/bit of post ph are they actually just. dating. they generally just have Something going on #like in ph. off the bat. i think when linebeck learns about bellum he starts to research him- checks libraries and personal collections #and hounding oshus and the spirits and trying to scrape together every little bit lf information he can find #at first its to quell his fear and maybe find tips he can pass on to link but once he digs deeper he just starts doing it out of curiosity #so theres just a mutual. they really want to know more about each other- linebeck doesnt just stop at researching bellum as an enemy #and bellum doesnt just stop at ‘researching’ linebeck as an enemy and someone to take advantage of #before they meet they have already gone a little farther than necessary into finding info on each other so they. have that mutual interest #and neither of them are too familiar with that i mean linebeck gets link but hes just used to limiting what people know about him #and bellum is used to just being a demonic enemy in need of eradicating (justified tho) whose other traits have been lost to time #like i imagine that long long ago bellum was worshipped as a like. god of war deity of survival against the odds that sort of thing #but the more positive aspects were left to languish when he decided to take the easy and simple way out and towards power and survival #but thats Bellum Lore that i need to add to That Post bc i don think its on there lmao #ok but. specifically in the crimson king au. theres this whole thing bellum eats people he has linebeck bring back limbs and stuff for him #but like some nights they make dinner i (linebeck is. not going to eat human meat. probably)#and while bellum prepares whatever dead guy linebeck brings him linebeck usually brings over a fresh squid #i feel like there’s something there. in other aus bellum ends up being intensely protective of linebeck due to them being reliant on each #other and bellum has known linebeck for a while. in some hes just like. his boss? the space au one is fun thats a fun dynamic #space au is probably the current au where theres the least romantic w/e between them but its still weird #anyways. but like in post ph its that sort of curiosity about each other that drives them to be kind to each other and. civil #theres some recognition they kind of see themselves in each other they understand how they think to a certain degree #bellum is possessive (heh. heheh) of linebeck very quickly partially to be able to keep. well. studying him and eventually bc of liking him #like on a level bellum is kind of just this violent animal that linebeck studies and finds ways to sustain and take care of but bellum #also knows linebeck incredibly intimately so while empathy is generally not there he can talk about very personal stuff to bellum and.#and vice versa a bit! its weird. like bellum has done heinous shit but linebeck kinda just. cares about the present and the future #it kinda ties into my idea that linebeck would rather not touch the past much like he keeps it in mind but moves forward no matter what #so he keeps his eyes forward with bellum and while initially distrustful and keeping him on a short leash just like. gives him some grace #this might be tag limit but like. yknow? im getting there but i might stick to just being loose with it bc it works #salty talks

SV Redeemed AU

INTRODUCTION / DISCLAIMER

First things first, these designs for Shadow Milk and Pure Vanilla are FAR into the future. Quite literally end game phase of the story, the “they grow old together and live happily ever after”. There's a long way to get there, and while I will write some of my thoughts about their journey, I'm a shitty writer. There's no single thought-out plot, it's just bits and pieces of my thoughts in one place.

I don't think I'd be making a tag or naming this AU anything specific. I'm still calling it an AU because there is a bit of canon divergence, but I don’t have a start-to-finish story. (EDIT: wellp that lasted long. new name is #False-Truth AU because I like the oxymoron. I still don't think I'll do much - maybe a few short comics, which you'll be able to find under that tag on my profile)

Keep in mind that these are just my own interpretations, if you imagine these cookies acting differently, that's ok! This is just my own made-up alternate version

LONG POST UNDER THE CUT - don't say I didn't warn ya

I’ve tried to divide it into sections, so if you are looking for just smth specific / only care about one of the characters, you can skip right to it!

Prepare for the ramblings.

PURE VANILLA'S DESIGN

more relaxed now - doesn’t need to keep up perfect appearances and the image of a hero, so he can lay back a bit more. (messier, less perfectly styled hair - more like his younger years. comfier clothes.)

focusing on herbology - with less power now (why explained below) and trying to not overwork himself, he’s taken to different healing methods, as well as taking on gardening as a hobby

slightly more open eyes - (heavily elaborated on bellow)

different staff - due to being able to use his own eyes more now, as well as staying more on the low, he’d decided to retire the famous staff. Since it’s a flower, it was planted somewhere and allowed to blossom and grow freely - fitting symbolism for a new beginning, I think. The lantern light glowing blue makes it easier on his eyes.

PV STORY BITS

In this AU Shadow Milk and Pure Vanilla retire together. I think PV would still like to teach, but would focus more on the medical and practical side of things, like herbs and healing practices. (He’ll leave telling tales about the past to Shadow Milk, though he might throw in his own comments from time to time…) He mostly offers advice and shares every-day methods for protection of different kinds with those who ask, but may take on an apprentice or few to fully pass down his healing knowledge to. He uses magic sparingly now.

This way with not focusing on a variety of subjects and many, many students, he’s able to rest more and doesn’t have to split himself between multiple worries. He can focus properly and give his students more individual attention, to make sure his knowledge will be retained for the future.

Eyes

(don't jump me pls read the footnote)

I've decided to take the closed/covered eyes motif PV has in a bit more symbolic way *. I want to interpret it as PV being blind (=ignorant) to the world around him, choosing to see the world and his own actions in an idealized light, and to look away from anything that doesn't fit that idea. Light sensitivity would be very ironic yet fitting - since his own powers are very light-based, by using them to help others he’d be blindinding/hurting himself in the process...

Over time, he realizes how futile it is. Even if he turns his eyes away from the wrongdoing in the world, from his own mistakes and imperfections, they will still continue to happen. He begins to understand that he has to accept that neither he nor the world is perfect, to stop wallowing over the past and start fixing the present. To keep moving forward and keep working on himself, not hide his imperfections under literal and figurative wraps.

With the help of Shadow Milk, he begins to open his eyes more and more and accept the real truth, no matter how imperfect it is.

*I’m not sure how confirmed it was in canon that he’s blind (from what I’ve seen it was mostly implied, but still). I'm not erasing that - for the sake of this AU, I'd like to say that he has partial issues with sight (including the mentioned light sensitivity), but now he learns to accommodate them rather than ignore them and hurt himself more for the sake of others. No, he doesn't magically gain full sight now, but he's more comfortable, healthier, and more honest about the world around him with all of its imperfections.

Burnout

I believe SM and PV complete each other so perfectly because they can help each other grow in areas where the other is lacking/struggling. With PV, I’d like to focus on burnout, false ideas, and how the pressure he’s constantly under has affected him. He was very much just a normal guy before receiving his Soul Jam. Years beyond a normal cookie’s lifespan of hard work and trying to be the perfect leader, to always ensure the happiness of all his people (whether that be as king or otherwise) are bound to take a toll on anyone. Obviously he'd never admit that, always putting everyone else before his own needs, and he’d likely run himself into the grave. That's where I think Shadow Milk would be helpful - he’d make him realize how unsustainable what he’s doing really is. He wasn’t built for handling immense power for all of eternity, he’s just a single cookie and whether he likes it or not, he can’t save everyone or make every single one of his people happy... Being selfish isn’t entirely wrong, sometimes might even be necessary.

Onto the idea of false truth - Pure Vanilla has a very idealized view of a lot of things and people. He’s trying to see everyone in the best light, but he also holds a high standard for himself - that he must be the ideal, shining and caring hero and a beacon of perfection . Shadow Milk is likely to pick that image apart - probably not in the kindest way, saying that in trying to be perfectly selfless, PV is putting himself on the pedestal above everyone else while still being just a single cookie with limited capabilities. He’d likely call this image egoistical, and while PV would argue that he’s doing it for the good of others (he is helping after all, right?), Shadow Milk wouldn’t be entirely wrong - this way of thinking, that he’s the one who must take care of everyone else, is harmful for both him and the ones he’s trying to protect.

Shadow Milk would show him that truth is relative, that “pure truth” doesn’t exist, for anyone could interpret it differently. That PV isn’t (and doesn't have to be) the perfect blameless hero. That his people aren’t as good or pure as he’d like to give them credit for, but neither are they helpless.

Shadow Milk metaphorically and literally helps him open his eyes - he slowly learns to lay back, to accept the reality and “truth”, whatever it may be, and is no longer blinding and burning himself out by trying to help everyone at once. With a new mindset and outlook of the world, he can allow himself to retire, and leave a calmer, out-of-the-spotlight life.

Retirement

Ok, controversial idea, but I think the ancients will have to one day retire and pass down their SoulJams. Yes, I played Cookie Odyssey, I know how important it is to them, but hear me out. As I said above (which is shown in the game btw, but correct me if I'm wrong), they were just normal cookies before taking on the roles of the Ancient Heros. Cookies with high achievements, yes, but still. They aren’t The Beasts, baked specifically for the purpose of handling the Soul Jams, and even then, The Beasts weren’t perfect. I’m not saying they’re bound to get corrupted like their predecessors did, but I am saying that this role is bound to take a toll on them. Not even just from the perspective of power, even just handling so many responsibilities with running their kingdoms is going to be extremely draining mentally. (Physically likely too, even if they’re said to stay “always young” thanks to the Soul Jams - many stories teach that you can’t mess with nature and that nothing lasts forever...)

I don’t know who they’d pass the Soul Jams along too - whether that’d be Gingerbrave and his friends, or a new batch of heroes, that is to be decided. The point is, they have served their purpose, they have (from the perspective of this AU) defeated Dark Enchantress, and deserve to now leave the rest of their lives in peace.

SHADOW MILK'S DESIGN

“mellowed out” a bit - continues to be eccentric and dramatic, but less manic

still unsettling - most level-headed cookies upon meeting him immediately get a feeling that there's something.. off about him, even if they can't put their finger on it. (I purposefully left some of his corrupted design elements or callbacks to them, like the marking over his eye, for that reason)

vibrant, colorful, very extra in both behavior and looks, everything he does he does with drama and flourish

quiets down when out of the eyes of the public, or alone with Pure Vanilla

peacock elements - fitting for someone with such a vibrant personality. also the eye connection is perfect - if you look closely at the feather he's wearing, you might even notice a familiar symbol in its “eye”

a playful bard - (elaborated heavily bellow) - an identity allows him to enjoy his favorite activities, while also being a slight callback to his academic past

SM STORY BITS

The bard

While spending more time with Pure Vanilla, PV encouraged him to pursue his creative interests. Partly to have smth to get SM’s mind off of causing chaos, and partly because they let him indulge and express himself without causing any serious damage. Now he’s joined PV in retirement, though still not fully stepping down from the stage.

Being a bard allows Shadow Milk to indulge in everything he likes most: being the center of attention, dramatics, theatrics, mischief, a tasteful dose of lies and half-truths, but also, in a way, calling back to his past self: for while a lot of his stories are made-up tales, he can also share the history of Earthbread that he’s witnessed. Yes, he may do so through over-dramatic performances or behind caricatural characters, but every tale holds a grain of truth, does it not? Whether his audience chooses to believe him or not is their choice to make.

Referencing the fact that a big part of human history survived through word of mouth, and how storytellers play an important role in preserving it, I think it’s only fitting to make him a bard.

About visual choices

I made his redeemed design less chaotic and asymmetrical, but still vibrant and based mostly on his current color palette, rather than the one from Blueberry Academy. That's because while he may be rediscovering his interests from the past, he’s not the person he was before corruption and never will be again. Instead, he too is learning to rediscover the world in a new light, with a new identity.

Visually I’ve tried to keep some elements from his current design, if slightly toned down: a wide collar, puffy sleeves, a flowy cape. Elements of his corruption are also still there: different colored sclera (= his one eye being black), the sharp teeth. He may have settled down and calmed down slightly, but he remains as playful as ever :))

He still causes local chaos once in a while or resorts to pranking unsuspecting cookies nearby (the slight charring at the bottom of PV’s robe is a result of one of such pranks getting out of hand), and PV has accepted that he'll never be a calm, put-together cookie he once might have been. However, SM's learned to not be a danger to others for the sake of the one he cares about the most, and that's enough for the both of them.

Behind the Seams: Part III

Welcome to the first instalment of Behind the Seams! Thank you everyone who has responded so positively to this slightly self-indulgent idea I had. I know I take so long in between chapters, this seems like a fun way to keep you guys in the loop, and also to keep myself motivated and productive while I work by sharing my thoughts as I go.

This time, I'll be rambling about focusing on the characters as I'm still in the thick of developing personalities and interpretations in the Seams universe, and I'd love to put all the thoughts that have been rattling around my brain into words to help me process it.

I will be tagging these posts as 'behind the seams' together with the chapter number 'seams iii' so you can filter this out if you don't want to see them! For those who are interested, let's dive in below the cut!

Current status: 3.2k written, fully outlined rough draft with most of the dialogue drafted.

Initial thoughts: This chapter wrote far more easily than I expected to so far. Each story is different, but I tend to find the 3rd to 5th chapters hardest to write, when you're building up the shape of the arc of the whole series.

I'm still keeping my options open with regards to what Seams is or can be, but I'm still thinking 'loose fit series' i.e. there won't be a solid, overarching story arc or ending to the series since it's not a plot-driven story. It will be interesting to see if my approach changes after a couple more chapters!

The challenge: The first two instalments were so hyper-zoomed in on Joel and Pin, I knew that the challenge for this chapter is pulling back the camera and seeing how they interact with each other outside the safety of the Outfitters, and how they fit into the wider community.

Joel and Pin: I was re-reading Threads in preparation for writing Part III, and what strikes me is that these two really don't know a lot about one another. They've barely had a fully formed conversation despite the forced proximity and some very charged moments in the last two chapters. I've tentatively written most of their dialogue in this chapter, and it's interesting that a couple of times, I've stopped myself and thought - is this too playful for a shy person like Pin? Is it too familiar with two people who are practically strangers, despite their chemistry? It's a balance that I'll have to find as I edit, and I'm excited to see how it turns out.

Tommy: For some reason, Tommy comes fairly easily to me, a testament to Pedro and Gabriel’s chemistry on screen. Without giving too much away, I'm really happy with the angle I found for Joel and Tommy in this chapter. There's a lot to unpack between the two brothers, but the happy occasion means that I can focus on the good part of their relationship for now. However, I am keeping the tensions in their history in my back pocket because I don't want to gloss over the very real and three-dimensional relationship we saw in the series.

Ellie: I've talked about how I'm nervous about writing Ellie. My Pedro boys are all lone wolves - sure they have their best friends (Teak to Palomino!Jack, Santi to Grays!Frankie, Pete/Rebecca to Consent!Dieter), but Ellie is Joel's kid, and she's part of his life more than any BFF is to my other Pedro boys. Luckily, I have found an in with Ellie that I think works well with the story in Part III, and also fits in with the broader direction of the fic. It's going to be nerve-wrecking, but I'm ready to write her into Seams!

Tess: I'm not in a place to say too much yet about Tess, but it's so important to me that she isn't erased from the Seams universe despite her not being there. I've been thinking a lot about Tess lately, about how she will fit into the story, how Joel will fit Pin into his and in relation to Tess. There are no easy answers, and it will be something to mull over in the next few chapters.

Something fun: Ok, all this character stuff is pretty heavy, so I want to end on a light-hearted note - Joel's tummy makes a cameo in a white undervest 😌

And that's it for Behind the Seams: Part III! I feel a lot lighter having found a space for all the things I have been thinking about while drafting the chapter. I hope this was a fun deep dive for you guys as well, I'll be hitting Google Docs hard this weekend to try to get all of the writing done for Part III so that I can start editing next week. bestie pls i need more christian/toto content, a drabble, a ramble, long tags, just SOMETHING!! you have me hooked and now i'm addicted i've read 7 years so many times it's embarrassing

ok hear me out you guys keep asking and i don’t have anything proper that i could offer you just yet BUT i saw an ask a while ago where someone said lewis isn’t going to renew his contract next year and saying “i won’t join another team” isn’t saying “i’ll be here next year i trust this team” etc etc etc and like, i hate myself for it but walk with me for a second here……………..

Lewis is the one to drop the bombshell of his retirement. Not his camp, not Merc, not PR. There is no tidy Instagram post in black and teal, no quote on quote, no text box announcing the retirement of one of the greatest. It’s Lewis who types it up, a hundred words max, and before he puts it on his story he calls Toto and lets him know.

Toto is in his office in Brackley, behind his big desk, glass walls, open door policy, looking out at a bunch of his employees steadily working away and none of them realise, none of them understand what is happening in the very moment he picks up the phone, what it does to him to hear the words, “I’m sorry man” and “I don’t wanna be the next Alonso” and “I can’t do another season of this” and “I need to let it go”. Toto’s world shifts, bends, and slowly glides off its axis. A funny joke, he thinks at first, before the realisation hits.

Toto has experienced many a crisis in his life. Some of them more serious, more real than others, but each one of them prepared him for the next, for what’s to come. His body catches up quicker than his brain. It’s the physical signs first, of going into fight or flight. Blood pumping, trouble breathing, sweaty hands, mouth dry. Racing heart. Funny expression. A racing heart. He’s always thought of himself as having a racer’s heart, especially in moments like this. He can calm himself, he can self regulate. He can manipulate himself, breathe through it, pretend he’s behind the wheel, pretend this is a life or death split second kind of decision calling for nothing but calm and steady hands.

He does; breathe through it. If there is one thing he is, steadfast and unswerving, it’s a leader. Responsibility sits tight in his neck as he seeks out his team, first the closest five, then senior personnel. He is not going to make this into a huge thing - it is - but he will have to make his people aware before Lewis lets the rest of the world in on his secret. Word is going to spread fast.

It does; spread fast. Toto was given an hour. He uses it wisely, types out a company wide announcement, and then another email, a more personal one, to the PR department. Tells them to leave things until tomorrow. There is no point in rushing this.

Toto leaves his office at 5 on the dot. Turns off his computer, does not take any documents, does not take any work to look at later, just shoves his travel mug into his bag, grabs his jacket and makes sure to turn the lights off on his way out.

When he gets home, Christian’s Range Rover is parked where it’s always parked, in the left space next to the stone steps leading up to the front door. It stands a little wonky today, the left front tyre kissing the grass. It’s an unusual sight. Christian is very particular about his car, and his lawn.

The dogs yap at his feet when Toto walks through the door, drops his shit on the sideboard with no mind to clean up after himself. He drags his feet through the foyer and into the kitchen. It’s still light out, it’s July, and Christian has opened the patio doors to let the warm summer breeze in.

His face has something critical to it when he locks eyes with Toto, crow’s feet deeper than usual as he watches him approach. Toto can feel the weight of his gaze on him, how he drags it up his body, down, up again, only to settle on his face for good.

“Colleague or husband?” Christian asks.

“Husband,” Toto says and folds himself into Christian’s opening arms, tucks his face into the crook of his neck and inhales deeply, allowing himself to just close his eyes and breathe. No need for pretences here. Car in the gravel, engine off, steering wheel dislodged and hands in his lap. It’s okay if his fingers shake. Christian knows he’s not a racer by heart.

Skyrim was one of the most popular games of the 2010s and the Silmarillion is an incoherent LOTR prequel that reads like the Bible. Wild.

What are your top 5 fics by kudos? Guess Who's Coming to Mordor (477), Fraternity (300), Wrong Side of the Bed (286), Hubris (186), Uncles (181). These are all Tolkien fics. Don't worry about it.

Do you respond to comments? Usually, unless I can't think of a clever enough reply or I just forget to.

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Considering that Saint Sylvie is basically just a collection of comedy shorts, it has a surprisingly angsty ending.

art history ofc... i could equally talk as much about art i love as much as art i HATE lol (duchamp's goddamn toilet fountain you're going fucking DOWN bitch)... can't promise my hour speech won't just be a list of fun art-y facts lol (like uh in medieval paintings that used gold leaf, artists would put down this red gesso/glue like mixture (called something like boll?) because the red gave the gold a warmer glow than just sticking it onto the plain wooden panel lol) or that it won't be me massively misremembering parts of my degree pfft...

history of the british monarchy lol! ok so i may not currently like the monarchy, but i am a MASSIVE fan of the history of the royals lol... especially the tudor era! a lot of my talk would be me trying to remember the order of the monarchs from william the conqueror until now (which would mean me singing the horrible histories monarchy song lol sorry not sorry)... i would also spend the time being like 'yeh so this one had allegations of being gay, as did this one, and THIS one had several male favourites who he was definitely in relationships with' lol

kpop lol... not really sure what i would talk about? maybe specific groups (exo would be in contention for sure, they have a very interesting history tbh), or just the wider cultural phenomenon and history of kpop? or just like talk about niche kpop groups that basically no one remembers pfft (like that group that jackie chan made lol! already mentioned it on my kpop haveyouheard blog but people in the notes were like 'wait jackie chan did WHAT???' lol...) like i definitely don't know a lot of stuff, but i know more than the average joe so like... it might be fun idk??

queer films lol... i'd also say films in general, but i definitely feel like i have more niche and interesting knowledge specifically of queer films so.... i DEFINITELY could talk for well over an hour about that lol! this would also definitely include me complaining about films like call me by your name and blue is the warmest colour lol... (i actually was speaking to myself the other day about both films and how perceptions of both have changed SO much over the years since they came out lol...) but i'd mainly want to talk about the amazing queer films i've watched over the years!!... i'd also throw in some talk of asian queer media here since i've been watching it for literally 6 or so years at this point lol...

back to history, this time ancient egypt! returning to my childhood roots with this one lol i know a lot of random things about ancient egypt that i could potentially string into an hour long talk? actually recently went to an exhibition at the place where they film downton abbey (it's not called that btw lol) where it had a whole thing about the discovery of tutankhamun's tomb in 1922 which had a lot of interesting info tbh! dont come to this talk if u dont want to hear me talk about all the incest that went on in ancient egyptian royalty pfft... (like...historians believe that tut's mother was also his aunt, and his sister was also his wife, which kinda explain why none of their children survived... royals of all eras really were like 'we have to intermarry to keep the bloodline pure' and it's like (breaking bad bald guy meme) jesse NO that's what's KILLING you!!!!!!!!!!)

for most of these i'd basically say something and then immediately be like 'don't fact check me on that though' because chances are i remembered the thing wrong pfft...

It's Gundham's birthday rn (it's 12am, December 14th in my timezone lmao)

and so, I decided to gift him the best thing I can offer atm:

Kazuichi comes home earlier than Gundham does, and so he has time to prepare his gift to him at home! The devas also joined him for his duties for the day so he won't have them to snitch on him, which is good-

Kazuichi's gift to him is his very own lover wearing the most beautiful lingerie he's seen. Don't ask Kazuichi where he got it, he just does- xD

Gundham comes home later a little after dark, and notices Kazuichi not on the couch waiting for him, which was odd. He goes upstairs and finds him on their bed wearing the pretty pink lingerie he got especially for his birthday~ >.<

( tbh this is just me using gundham's bday as an excuse to ramble about kazuichi in lingerie bc i personally love the idea LMAO )

He asked her for help picking out something nice and she looked in square in the eye and said “say no more”. She actually bought several - nearly a baker dozen all varying in different colors and cuts and some even have faux fur lining. She went to town and they all fit like a glove lol

But the one he decides to wear, is a cute little light pink piece that fits snugly against his hips and chest, which is perfect because Gundham does like seeing Kazuichi’s masculine body incased in feminine clothing. And this is particularly feminine (spoiled caused slight risky photo)

So he has it on, feeling pretty cute and good about himself. He looks good and though the thigh straps were a bitch to get right, everything is just perfect. And to add the perfect touch, he puts on the custom made pleather dog collar Gundham had made, complete with a dog tag with Kazuichi’s name engraved snug against his neck.

He knows he make a pretty sight and desperately wants to take a picture for future use, but holds off because he can’t trust himself sending to his boyfriend and ruining the surprise 😏

When he hears the front door open, he feels nervous, it keeps his ass firmly planted on the bed and waits anxiously for the other to come into the bedroom.

“Paramour?”

“In here.” He calls, voice high and excited. “I have a surprise for you~”

And wow ok. Taking him a bit of a minute to get there. Could be his anxiety but it takes Gundham an eternity to get to their bedroom, but it’s worth it when he opens the door, talking about how some irritable parrot was refusing to eat or groom itself and stopping mid word as he took in Kazuichi, sitting in the middle of their bed, legs tucked in to push the strain of the thigh straps taunt against his skin and a gauzy dark pink short shift splay around him like some Disney princess.

Kazuichi is so proud of Gundham’s reaction, he wiggles a bit in excitement as the breeder continues to stare at him in a mix of surprise and desire and in a genius move, he shoulders the shift off, exposing his slightly tan shoulders and he could be seeing things but he swears the others nostrils flare as his eyes focus on the collar.

“You like it? Happy birthday baby-“ is all he can get out before he is suddenly pushed against the sheets and is silenced by the other kissing the soul outta him.

Gundham is just pawing at him, kneading his thighs; hands tugging at the bra to flick a nipple and a wide wicked tongue making a wet strip at the hollow of his throat. Kazuichi was already half hard and it takes no time at all for him to be full mast and he moans as those cold hands brush against his groin.

“My dear, you look delightful. Absolutely delectable.” Gundham growls and Kazuichi shivers cause holy shit he really likes it.

And Kazuichi preens at that, because fuck yeah he knows it. Gundham is just pulling more at the bra and has already pulled down the delicate fabric of the crotch panties, long fingers wrapping loosely around his length and his arches his back on the bed. Something rends in the air and it barely phases him as he thrusts into that pale hand.

“I find that you will enjoy me unwrapping my present fare than I will.” Gundham rumbles I’m part amusement and part hunger as he speeds up his hand slightly.

“Nigh ~ Never know until you do.” He replies with a toothy grin that immediately crumbles as he rides out his orgasm.

“Indeed.” And he watches in semi conscious bliss as pulls away to quickly remove his clothes.

And yeah, this gift was a great idea.

okokok this is pretty long so you might wanna longpost tag this

its the full thing, so it has all of the part one thing i sent yesterday (yes i did go back and finish the sentece) and i think it turned out pretty good for my first time writing this genre. That said,,,

Elitello fanfic coming at you!

It was night three in a row that Donnie had no sleep, and it was around this time that Elijah started to seriously worry. Sure, Donnie stayed up ridiculously late most days, but normally he wouldn't have been up for this long.

The only good thing about this, is the longer he stays up, the more often he leaves his desk for coffee. It was during his most recent coffee run that Elijah had finally decided he was putting his foot down. He was making Donnie go to sleep, even if it meant destroying whatever he was working on currently (misinfo. Despite how much he wanted to sometimes, Eli could never bring himself to purposefully break something that Don had put his time into.)

The first stage was the simplest part. He had to make it to Donnie’s desk. Considering he had been keeping Don company for the past,,, several hours of the night, this part was easy. Looking through all the organised mess on the desk, he looked for something, anything important enough to Donnie that taking it would make him go after it.

God this desk was a mess, he hardly knew what was important! Maybe it was about time to start paying more attention when Don infodumped about his creations.

“Elijah, love, what on earth are you up to?”

Fuck. ok. He may have taken a bit too long this time, but maybe he could prompt a hint on what he could take out of this situation?

He took a few steps back from the desk and turned to look at where Donnie was approaching, fresh mug of coffee in hand. “It looked interesting so i was just trying to see what it was”

“Well, maybe if you pay attention this time, I can explain it to you?” He nodded enthusiastically, waiting as Donnie sat down and placed his coffee to the side before leaning slightly against the back of his chair, fully prepared to listen to him ramble for the next half an hour. He may have messed up his first attempt, but he swore, hed do better the next try. He looked at Donnie fondly, listening intently to the words he spoke almost seamlessly.

Honestly.

The things he would do for this man.

It's about 3 coffee trips later when Elijah decides to take another stab at operation: make Donnie sleep, after all, the opportunity practically handed itself to him on a silver platter. During the last few coffee trips, he had meticulously timed how long Donnie had spent out of the room, only for him to be handed a solution where timings would hardly matter.

The device Donnie was working on was rather small. All Eli had been told was that it would go into a handheld device and that he wasn't allowed to know anymore. Odd, but sometimes Don liked to keep the air of mystery to make things more fun and he wasn't going to ruin that for his own curiosity. Not just yet anyway. More importantly, because of its size, Don had been using his goggles the entire time while working on it and after having complained about how they were annoying him, Elijah managed to convince him to take them off for his next coffee run.

There, in all their scrap metal glory, sat Donnie’s goggles. They were currently centre-stage on Donnie’s desk, their placement something he would be sure to notice if it were to disappear. It was perfect. Something necessary for the project that he could take away without fear of damaging anything.

So that's exactly what he did.

As gently as he could, he took the goggles from the table, the cold metal pressing softly into the palm of his hand as he swept quickly across the lab to the still open doors. His footsteps were light, echoing quietly through the lair as Elijah made his way towards Donnie’s room. With around one minute until Donnie got back to the lab to find him gone, Elijah crossed the threshold of Don’s room. He left the light off, it would look more normal that way. And besides, Elijah had spent enough sleepless nights in there with Don to know the layout better than he would the layout of his own room back home.

There, by the foot of Donnie’s bed, was the bag he normally took with him when staying over at the lair. That would be as good a place as any to hide the goggles, at least then he knew there would be no chance of it accidentally getting broken. Slipping them gently into the main pocket, he settled himself into Donnie’s bed. He knew there was no way that stubborn turtle would just go to sleep when asked, so his only other option was to drag him kicking and screaming. But he was fine with that.

And now, Donnie should have entered the lab to find Elijah and his goggles missing. All he had to do was wait.

"Elijah? Love, are you in here?"

Elijah raised his hand and waved at Donnie, who stood just at the door frame. Upon seeing such a lacklustre response, Donnie crossed the room in strides, whatever he was doing before could wait until after he checked in on his boyfriend.

"Are you alright my love?"

"I'm alright, Don."

"Thank god, I don't know what I'd do if you weren't." The two shared a quiet laugh. they felt so,,, safe in there, away from what the others expected of them, with just each other for comfort. Elijah looked up at Donnie’s eyes and he could see how soft they were. It was moments like this, where the self proclaimed bad-boy turtle let down his walls, that made him fall in love all over again.

"Love, have you seen my goggles? I need them to get back to work,,," Donnie's voice sounded gently in the quiet room, as if trying to preserve the soft and sleepy atmosphere between the two. He was tired and it was starting to show.

"no, i've not. but don't you think you should stop working for a while?" God, he was lying through his teeth right now but it looked to be working. Donnie looked hesitant, almost scared at the prospect of stopping his work.

"Tell you what, D." he sat up slightly, causing Donnie to look at him expectantly. " Take a nap with me now, it doesn't have to be long, just a couple of hours, and I'll help you find your goggles when we wake up, sound fair? They're not gonna be outside the lair, so it'll be fine." Donnie was torn. On one hand, he needed to find his goggles. If Leo had them (he was the only one of his brothers who might possibly be awake at that time) they could very easily get broken. On the other hand, he was so fucking tired and he really did need sleep.

"Fine, ill take a nap with you" a wide grin stretched across Elijah's face as he layed back down on the bed and moved further towards the wall, lifting the blanket and leaving enough room for Donnie to slide in next to him. And that's what he did. Thankfully, he didn't have any of his gear on since it bothered him while he was working. Adjusting the blanket over them, Eli moved closer to Don, resting his head on his plastron where he could hear the rhythmic beating of his heart. Donnie wrapped his arms loosely around Eli's waist, pulling him even closer.

The air was so full of love, you could almost feel it. The trust between these two was so strong, not even the greatest of disasters could do anything to harm their bond.

"Hey Don?" Donnie hummed in acknowledgement. He was already in the lightest grips of sleep thanks to the warmth between them.

"I'm the one who took your goggles. I wanted you to go to sleep."

"You sneaky bastard,," he sounded so tired with his response

"You love me really,"

",,,yeah. I do. Now go to sleep, dummy." Elijah chuckled under his breath

ok i need to know more about ellaria STAT. and your thoughts on rosy + the rosymance !!

RRRRR OK OK but ive only played the public demo so far i havent paid for the patreon/closed demo yet, so i have very little information about the Rosymance in general. info dump and stats below

Ellaria is the humorous / cheerful kinda Button, about 5'5", and she calls her brother Nick-Nack in the game but I imagine she will call him any random number of names off the top of her head (based off of when I played Fallout 4 and I would often call Nick any random nickname like Nicki Minaj, Nickle Pickle, Nickolodeon, Nickaroni and Cheese, etc lol). She has some insecurities because she compares herself to her brother a lot, but she tries to tough it out and beat up her bad thoughts bc she's an unstoppable optimist!!! Stubborn to a fault she refuses to back down once she sets her mind to something. Is a very nice person but gets very socially awkward in large groups, and sometimes lashes out when she gets frustrated by how fragile people treat her (the first thing that made her like Instructor Kim was that he didnt beat around the bush abt her zero but didnt treat her like a kid either!! shes like damn finally some respect around here)

Loves Nick so much (i got like a 160% relationship with him in the open demo lol) looks up to him like her personal hero + mentor. Loves her dad even though it's a little bit strained, has not seen or spoken to her mother in 4 or 5 years after The Incident(tm). but she misses her mom a lot she, she's half scared of her mom hurting her and half scared she will hurt her mom.

I chose the pre-prepared name Ella when I first started playing bc I didn't know what the game was about so I wasn't prepared to like.. make an OC for it until I decided I liked it enough lol. But I compromised by just naming her Ellaria and Ella is her nickname. Here are her stats by whatever chapter is the last one in the open demo (8 i think?)

I LOVE AMBROSE KIM... i played as bisexual in my first go as Ella so i had no idea the genders for some charas changed until I checked the Ambrose Kim tag on tumblr lol. but im way more into rosy as a man than as a woman... Mr Kim u can instruct me any day,..

Like I said tho I don't know a lot about the Rosy romance because I only played the open demo, and I know the author says his romance takes the longest to flower because of the whole teacher/student aspect so he's actively trying to NOT fall for button.. well too bad bitch I'm gonna be so respectable and hot he's gonna have no choice.

anyway im gonna get the patreon this week (friday probably) so i can update u on how i feel soon jhgjhlks i also love all of the characters ngl. i would romance all of them in separate playthroughs.

ok new pinned post of general info about this as the twitter people are coming here and I feel like changing my spoilers policy so I’m not tagging like four spoiler tags on one post.

This isn’t strictly an ace attorney blog though it is most of what I talk about. As a result, I will post and reblog posts that contain spoilers, lots of which is untagged.

My current policy is that if a game has been out with an official English version for ten years or more, I am not going to tag spoilers for it. As of the time I am making this post, this contains the trilogy, aa4, and the first investigations game.

(The exception to this is the crossover, which I don’t think enough people have played.)

With all other AA games, major spoilers (such as major plot twists or final killers) will be tagged under their corresponding tags: “aai2 spoilers”, “dd spoilers”, “soj spoilers”, “plvsaa spoilers”, “tgaa spoilers”. The latter now corresponds to both great ace attorney games, since they’ve been out in English for over a year now. If you don’t have those tags blocked, then be prepared.

I don’t reblog other things enough to justify having a separate “ace attorney” tag, so if for whatever reason you’re following me for something else, be prepared for the ace attorney posting. thank uu !! i just hung out w family friends && we had malatang && sukiyaki + milk tea & a strawb matcha chiffon cake that i baked + two whole tomahawk steaks && played sm mahjong !! i don’t have any cousins/extended family where i live,, so my family friends have really grown to feel like my family ?? and i literally love them sm,, like hanging out w them today has absolutely made this month exponentially better :D

i know i’ve posted this a lot before, but i actually think my time in this fandom and on this blog is pretty much done :/ (rambling and feelings under the cut ew)

i’ve finally gotten to a place where i should be happy and i’m anything but :/ i have a job at a place that’s good for me on paper, i finally moved in with my boyfriend, i am financially comfortable and physically in a place where i feel safer and more comfortable. i’ve had nearly two months to adjust and i don’t feel any less depressed than i’ve been for literal years (and it’s my fault)

i feel like i’m lost and i’m stuck and the only things that distracted me are now like. nothing to me anymore and that’s so stupid to act like a literal tumblr account is a burden but at this point? it really feels like it lmao. i feel like i don’t fit in here and i shouldn’t be here and the friendships i’ve made might mean more to me than they actually are (and this is no one’s fault but my own). i miss writing and being creative and engaging with people and making friends and feeling good about myself i guess

it’s so frustrating because i spent the past two ish years throwing myself into choices, litg, and interactive fiction fandom to combat irl shit (which, surprise, i’ve never recovered from) and that same place is a place i dread logging onto because i don’t feel like i’m a part of anything anymore

idk! this shouldn’t be this long but i don’t have a therapist and i’m tired of being exhausted and unhappy all the time. (so instead of being a normal person who’d.. idk.. reengage with things and try to make friends and create again, i’m just leaving)

i also shouldn’t be upset that people are moving on and having fun without me while i’m struggling, bc again that’s completely on me, but i am! and i don’t think i should make it everyone’s problem so i’m just gonna go for now
