Not quite an AU but rather a different perspective: OMORI, but from Mari’s point of view and seeing how she’s handling everything while being dead 👀

At some point I like to think an older ghost maybe finds her an decides to take her in so she has some form of emotional support and comfort. Him acting as a stand in Father figure (Dying at 15 would be horrifying, so she would desperately need one ^^;) I even did a pic in a similar style to Basil’s photos!

“Ah, MARI finally managed to calm down. The poor girl has been through so much in so little time… I can’t even fathom what’s going in her head right now… But, the important thing, is that she’s finally getting at least some sleep after not doing so for over a week now. So hehe, @mikkokomori and I came up with a very random crack AU and that’s what I’m gonna share with you all now- I’m thinking this can replace that failed Wolfwalker AU I never managed to figure out ^^; because this one is much more fun

SO CONTEXT for the “Pet Parents AU”

Klaus and Del move into Faraway due to having adoption troubles ;-; the couple thinking that since they’re getting on in their years, perhaps instead of being people parents, they try being animal parents instead ;w;

One important thing in this AU is that people are able to adopt even wild animals, but it heavily depends on what wild animal specifically. Like it’s legal to adopt a Fox but not like, a Moose or a Bear lmao only condition with this is that animal cruelty on wild animals have a harsher punishment than if done on they typical Cat or Dog.

Anywho, around the time Klaus and Del are in Faraway, the main 6 kiddos had unfortunately died in an ambiguous accident (still need to figure it out) and are all ghosts. But they miss having physical bodies so they all decided to possess animals around the neighbourhood. Kel and Hero find some stray dogs, Aubrey and Basil find a couple bunnies but Mari and Sunny… weren’t so lucky.

It was dark when they thought they found a couple cats but when they realized they weren’t cats, it was too late and their souls got bound to the animal bodies and already absorbed the animal’s soul ^^; Sunny and Mari accidentally possessing a couple of Raccoons. So while Kel, Her, Basil and Aubrey have it pretty nice in terms of people around town helping them out, the Suzuki sibs aren’t so lucky as Raccoons are one of the uh… less popular animals due to all the health related issues Raccoons are associated with.

Although since the kids are ghosts, the physical bodies merging with their souls in a way where they’re all immune to any kind of sickness or disease. Mari and Sunny being technically being the “healthiest” Raccoons on the planet by default lol ANYWAY Unfortunately people aren’t too keen on feeding Raccoons so it’s up to Mari to rummage around the best she can to get food for her and Sunny. But by herself as Sunny is very small and she doesn’t want him getting caught.

Eventually the two stumble into Klaus and Del’s backyard, catching Klaus just as he was tossing out some uneaten food but he sees the two eyeing him. So he leaves the food out for them to eat and things slowly escalate from there. One thing to note though is that Del isn’t too keen on his husband feeding Raccoons since they make such messes of people’s garbage but Klaus ensures that “as a country boy” he knows how to deal with wildlife lmao

Ooh, that’d be really interesting and while Idk if it’d be possible, (since when Mari runs out herself, it’s after Sunny had fallen to his knees heavily crying over how Mari had been acting towards him over the recital for the past few months. Sunny being a bit stuck in his own head and not really registering Mari left until he’s fully calmed down thanks to Basil.) I still really like this concept ^^

And I have thought about Werewolf Sunny on occasion so I’ll at least give some concept doodles :D

One thing I like doing is that whenever I draw Mari and Sunny as like, animals, I like giving Sunny more cooler shades of his hair colour. While Mari stays the og, warmer shades :)

(Also LOVE that wholesome, domestic family shit ;w; Klaus would totally rough house and play with the kiddos while Del watches from the cabin -w- 💕 that just sounds so fuckin’ cute)

Mari wasn’t feeling the best, her leg giving her issues before bed, so Sunny decides to tell her about Last Resort to help cheer her up since he knows she likes hearing him talk ^^ as he doesn’t do so very often. The background? They’re hanging out in Del’s home office. Sunny wanting to tell his Papa about Last Resort too although he’ll never admit to it lol

What would it be like if both Mari and Sunny died in the Ethereal AU after the pizza came.

Oh man- well, I can imagine in this AU when Basil witnesses the accident, he actually does call 911 so the truth is at least known from the start.

But in terms of ER if both siblings ended up dead, well, the same thing would happen in that Klaus is a few days late in terms of picking the two up from The Living so they'll use that time to talk things out about what happened. Sunny tells Mari on how he's really felt in the past number of months, Mari apologizes for being so hard on him and then Sunny apologizes as well for... well... getting them in their current situation.

So the siblings would still be close, but due to how their deaths occured, Klaus and Del still take the kiddos in so that they'll have adult supervision. But then when Christmas comes, the two adults adopt both Mari and Sunny as their own :)

One main difference I can see though is that Sunny gets very attatched to Mr. Grimm. And he is actually so intrigued by Sunny's presence that he takes Sunny into a form of apprenticeship. He teaches him how to use his ghost powers in addtition to different spells and potion making :3

OMORI: Full Moon AU

Full Moon is an Omori AU that’s in place of that “Wolfwalker AU” I had an idea for but couldn’t go anywhere with. This is gonna get long so be prepared for a LONG info and AU lore dump lmao

For AU context, this AU takes place in basically the same canon, it’s just that Werewolves exist and live along side humans. Them being referred to as “Werefolk” when in their humans forms. There’s Pure Bloods- natural born Werefolk- and Turned Bloods, humans who were bitten and turned into one.

But as for the story of Full Moon in terms of OMORI, it’s the same as canon. Sunny throws his violin down the stairs, breaks it, and Mari starts yelling at him. But as she yells, it slowly reached the point to where instead of Sunny snapping and pushing her, he breaks down on the spot and just sobs which takes Mari off guard. And as he’s crying, he admits everything he’s been feeling in the past few months leading up to the recital.

Mari is taken back by this and starts almost crying too as she’s just utterly disgusted and disappointed with herself for even treat her precious baby brother the way she did. Her mumbling dozens of apologies before running off herself into the woods behind the treehouse and staying out till dark. It being a Full Moon that night…

As she finishes her self-reflection and attempts to go back home, she catches eyes with a very large werewolf in the woods. Now in this AU, Mr. Jin Suzuki, is an ass here too. He’s very “Werephobic” and for most of Mari and Sunny’s lives, he’s been feeding them a lot of bad and untrue information about Werefolk. This includes wrong things to do when encountering a Werewolf during their full moon.

SO Mari ends up running away from the wolf which you should never do with any canine animal. In this context, it prompts the Werewolf's instincts to slightly spike and makes it chase after her, pin her to the ground and bite her. (Mari also being pinned in a strange way that causes her to sprain her ankle upon landing)

Her adrenaline during the situation as well as the pain of her bite and ankle causing her to faint/black out. The bite effecting her blood stream due to it breaking her skin. But a moment later, the Werewolf realizes what he's done and in order to try and fix his mistake, he carries her onto his back at takes her back to his cabin deep in the woods that's just on the outskirts of Faraway in hopes that his loved one could possible treat the wound before she turns.

And in this AU, the couple is question is obviously Klaus and Del lol Klaus being the Werewolf here and being a Pure Blood while Del is human. But Klaus takes Mari back home, hoping Del would be able to help in some way but sadly Klaus wasn't fast enough and her bloodstream had already been effected due to how big the bite on her shoulder/neck is. But he still treats it and bandages her to prevent any kind of infection.

But the next morning when Mari wakes up, the two fill her in on just what happened. Klaus immediately apologizing for biting her as he never meant to hurt her. He didn't even think anyone would've been in the woods that late into the night lmao

While giving his apolgies, he tells her that after some talking, him and Del agreed that they'd hone up for the incident by letting Mari stay with them for however long she likes while Klaus teaches her how to be a Werewolf and how to control and live with her new powers/abilities.

At first, Mari was unsure but then when remembering how her dad was AND then her fight with Sunny last night, she then thinks it's for the best that she... stays away from her friends and family. Especially since she's now seen first hand that Werefolk aren't "cold-hearted" or "merciless" like her Father had told her all her life.

So Mari stays with them for the next 4 years instead. This AU having the mask of Mari having gone "missing" rather than dying. Now have some drawings I've done over the past couple weeks or so.

Headspace Klaus and Del? Would they be as kids or teens if their headspace form

Hoo boy! Sorry this took so long to get to! My brain was trying to think of designs for like the past week or so ^^; but I can finally answer this!

For the AU’s where Sunny knows Klaus and Del, they would have the same appearance they’d usually have as Sunny wouldn’t know what they’d look like when they were younger and even if he did, their appearance wouldn’t match with the role he has in mind for them. So HS Klaus and Del are like the Dream Friends BUT instead of being outlined and filled with shades of purple, it’s their signature colours of Orange and Indigo respectively. And one thing to know about them is that their eyes always appear to be closed.

In Sunny’s mind, they serve as the only normal parental figures for the group and would actually be HS Mari and Omori’s parents. Their closed looking eyes is to give off a sense of relief and relaxation. Whenever you see them, they’re supposed to give off a sense of safety and belonging. Their content faces giving comfort to Sunny as he knows Klaus and Del will always keep him safe no matter where they are. They just have to be with him and he’ll have no worries.

Their personalities are pretty much the same too, although much more toned and laid back. In canon, Sunny obviously likes to emphasize traits of his friends. Like Kel being a lot more rash than normal, Hero being the “perfect” big brother that can literally do anything just by being around. All that stuff. So whenever he interacts with his Dads, they show much more of their relaxed and open side. Further supporting the feeling Sunny has towards them that he feels safe with them and that they’d never judge him if he did something wrong.

Now idk which AU this could apply to- perhaps Clear Out since that still has trauma for the kids in the sense of their bio Dad disowning them and seeing him and Mari as “a mistake and disappointment” respectively but I’ll probably have to think about it more. Also the house these two live in, it’s still a large manor like irl, but in a secret section within Pyrefly Forest. It’s a situation where there’s a small clearing in Pyrefly but this location actually classifies as a spot in Vast Forest. This also signifying them as a small safe space to keep Sunny protected from all his surrounding fears :)
