I see Genos has a thing for jumping Saitama.

Glomping or jumping his bones, almost the same thing. Saitama got his bones rattled a bit too in the manga.

So we can expect Genos to jump Saitama again at the latest when they spar again? And use that opportunity to make it awkwardly very gay because he's gay for sensei?

Saitama likes to sandbag so he's not going to expect it if Genos just blinds him lol. Since well...if Saitama is not taking their sparring seriously...how about something else for fun activity? Some ahem, quality bonding time between sensei and disciple.

Broaden the horizons, so to speak.

Fully convinced that saitama and genos' communication issues will be solved in the silliest way possible or with a fight. No in between

#I've been. rotating and rotating and rotating chapter 186 in my mind for over a week #and you see #I was asking myself #'why is this chapter such a faithful adaptation of the wc? does this negate all that happened in the monster association arc?' #the thing is I was expecting their dynamic to change bc other characters' relationships have changed #like fubuki and tatsumaki. garou and bang #so after the monster association arc the Saitama-Genos dynamic would also change right? #HOWEVER. #the thing is. the way they interact cannot change if the way they see the other doesn't change #Saitama has to first realize that he deeply cares about Genos #this version doesn't remember and doesn't even think about what it would be like to lose him #meanwhile Genos is still putting Saitama on a pedestal and gives more importance to what he thinks and says #even if he isn't right #and that has to change. #opm spoilers #dan weeaboo momence

Idk but I think Genos got those self-deprecating feelings EVEN after he saw what Saitama did for him through the core was because they got different expectations from each other.

Saitama cared about Genos as a companion, a loyal disciple who will always be with him no matter how bad he is, a righteous person who still follows justice in this mad world. Genos is the reason he keeps trying to be better to deserve, and so the person who kept him sane when he started seeing humans as insects. That's why he'd rather destroy the whole world if he saw his disciple be killed, his source for him to 'cling for support' be gone.

He's worried about Genos. He somehow wanted him to let go of his anger, to move on and live a peaceful life, rather than pursuing his revenge only to be destroyed. In other words, he's scared of losing Genos. (these panels were in the wc as well, but I love the idea that Saitama was haunted by Genos' death esp after seeing his dead core in the manga's MA arc)

It doesn't matter to him whether Genos is strong or weak. All that matters is Genos being there with him, as a human, not a robotic weapon.

On the other hand, Genos cared more about destruction power to fulfill his revenge purpose (Edit: and yes he also wanted to be stronger to protect other people, not like a helpless child he was 4 years ago). He sees Saitama as a 'symbol of strength' he wanted to follow, a person he admires, or worships to some point. That's why he'd be angry at anyone who looks down on his master or doesn't recognize his ability, also the reason why he follows the whole "notice me sensei" theme. (it's not like love and I want to deny this)

Plus he couldn't hear Saitama's thoughts from those memories as how lucky we were. He didn't know Saitama got that level of power JUST because the master had experienced such extreme emotions when he'd seen his disciple's death. All Genos perceived was -Saitama's power was so out of this world that he literally sneezed out a whole planet. That power, compared to his punch that blew a mountain range, is on a different level.

About the core touching scene, maybe from Genos' view this could just mean his master trying to encourage him, like he's always been doing despite how terrible it was in the latest chapter. And it was not because Saitama actually acknowledged his progress. He's that kind of person who always yearns for the better and therefore exhausts himself no matter how much other people told him to relax. I couldn't think of any proper explanation for it. I hope this makes sense.

I sure missed something, but I'm always a sucker for idjits who don't know how much they love each other, or at least, from Saitama's side only.

gojo satoru is a force to be reckoned with. his name rings a bell and brings shivers to the spine of any potential enemies he has. 

he's gojo satoru, the strongest of all, the holy grail of jujutsu sorcery. he's gojo satoru, whose power literally repels and divides everyone else and him.

but to you, he's a lover, a man of his own, an independent being who is capable of emotions. he's satoru. the love of your life.

so when he decided to call it quits, to say you were devastated is an understatement. you were left broken, calling out his name at night hoping he would appear in front of you just one, for closure. him closing the chapter of your book got you weeping and yearning for more of him. 

because even though he's your lover, even you have a hard time of catching a glimpse of who he really is. satoru is an open book, but he's hard to understand. you did all your best to ease him and make him open up, show more of himself to you, bare his truth, the good, the bad, and the ugly, all of them you're willing to accept.

alas, the universe has other plans, the challenge ended even before it began, he is most definitely an enigma, someone that you will probably never get to solve. satoru's backed turned against you was a sight you are never going to forget. you spent months moving on and try to live a life where he isn't yours. it's hard but you try to manage anyway.

so when a knock on your door was heard by the 31st of december, you didn't expect gojo satoru in his full glory standing before you. as shocked as you are, you see his eyes had sunken. he's beyond exhausted but when he sees you, his eyes lighten up and you feel the warmth of his arms and your feet off the floor. you miss this, you miss him, it was all so familiar and something you very much miss. every fiber of your being remembered the way he touched you, triggered by the way his hands gripped onto your waist for dear life. as confused as you are, you reciprocated his gesture, opting to rest your hand on his shoulder blades.

"satoru?" you managed to voice our before you feel him put you down but his embrace remain. he then rests his head on the crook of your neck, then you hear him sniffle. suddenly you feel something drop onto your skin. his tears slowly roll from his face to your neck and shoulders.

satoru's lips wobbles as he tries to contain himself but to know avail, he lets his cries out, deciding to bare himself to you and be vulnerable. he was so so so tired of fighting. as great as the title 'the strongest' sounds, it gets too lonely even for him. being on the top is lonely. and he knows it himself.

he'd rather fall from grace than live a life where he isn't yours. he was too late to realize it. he was so stupid, too cocky, too condescending that it took him facing death before realizing that he wants to live, just for you. so when he finally defeats the evils of the jujutsu world, his first thought is you. the only one who provided light in his dark and desolate world.

as charming and bright satoru is, he is often left in the shadows in the cave but when he came to know you, he was absolutely in love and smitten. you were like a fresh breath of air to him. but when he decides that creeping into your mundane and simple life would rather be selfish of him. someone cursed like him shouldn't be able to be with someone who is blessed and down to earth like you. 

but being selfish be damned, he had faced battles, including one that almost left him biting the dust. he wants you, he needs you in his life and letting you go was definitely a mistake, something that he will never do ever again.

when his cries had calmed down, you finally get his voice again after a long time. "i'm so sorry," satoru started. "i was an idiot, i love you so much and i never stopped loving you. i was so stupid to let you go, i have never loved someone as much as i did with you." satoru knows his worth is probably lesser than any other being the moment he let you go, the only pillar who provided stability and balance in his life. he was impulsive, too proud, and too strong. but the way you held him every time you caged him into your arms is like he was fragile, someone to be protected, someone to cherish.

satoru loved that. and he was stupid to think that was worth letting go.

knowing you has made him scared of death, an entity or event that could break the two of you apart and live in separate worlds, and he couldn't bare to face it. he loves you too much to let himself go and so he fought with you in mind and thank any deity that exists, he finally won.

gojo satoru is the strongest.

so seeing him crumble right before your very eyes as his knees meet the concrete is a shock. he had bowed before you first before he had bowed to any higher up. hell, satoru bowing before anyone else would come as a shock. he held onto your ankle for support, his voice begging to take him back as he spews even more apologies that he can manage.

"please, please, i'm so sorry darling, i'll do what it takes for you to take me back. i love you so much, no other human had made me feel this way, please i'm so sorry. i miss you so much, god, i can't even remember a life before you, please." satoru had begged, begged, and begged, his voice getting louder and louder and each increased volume of his voice his hurt is more evident.

with the way his voice cracked broke your heart, and that's when you knew he meant every single letter, every syllable, every drop of tear, and every breath of his apology. 

you had completely broken the strongest. but satoru doesn't mind. even if you break him a thousand times, he'd painstakingly pick up every single piece of himself to present it to you. and that's what he's doing right now.

"i forgive you 'toru," he barely hears you say through his wails and it slowly comes to a halt. he then lost the feel of your ankles as he sees you kneel yourself to his level. your hands reached to touch his face and there you see his eyes, glassed with tears, love, and regret. satoru feels the heat of your hands on his cheeks and his instincts leaned into it. "i was hurt, but i'm never mad, i just wished you'd tell me why," his heart broke when he heard your voice crack.

"but you're hear now, right? we can fix this, we can fix us." you say as you carefully wipe the tears on his face. satoru nodded as he holds your wrists and caress his thumb on it. "yeah, we'll fix us."

"together?"

"together," satoru said in confidence. 

and with a light heart, satoru leans in to catch your lips on his, sealing his silent promise to never hurt you ever again, or he will never get to forgive himself.

he's gojo satoru.

he'll always find a way back into your arms.

Saitama worrying about the core even when they’re on JUPITER’S FUCKING MOON???? I cant. I’m devastated

“I may have gotten what I wished for...but I’m not in the slightest bit excited.” HDHSSGJAGS?? Holy shit, the fact that he admits that he thinks he’s a shit hero when he didn’t save Genos and admits that his dream is here but he couldn’t give less of a fuck is not only a giant indication of how much he cares for Genos, but a total kick in the pants to us readers who have rooted for saitama to get this fight bc we’re in the same boat, this fight is exciting but miserable and the stakes r hurting everyone. I just...wow.

I gotta say, I’m pleasantly surprised they brought stuff like the table flip and the garou-jumpy bit into this part of the fight that I thought wouldnt be adapted at this point, so my hopes have raised a little bit for this horrifying arc (also the Jupiter art??? Damn murata!!)

OH AND PANELS LIKE THIS WHERE GAROU GOT HIS SHIT ROCKED???? SO HAPPY! Not only is Saitama serious but Garou is getting the stupid fucking fight he wanted so badly like!!! Amazing.

This panel?? So first of all I’m kinda confused why Garou didn’t continue to copy saitama when he saw how effective it was, just me? And also OH SHIIIIT SAITAMA’S BLEEDING???? That’s genuinely nerve racking to see and it’s so hard to determine how this fight will go for him w Garou being much stronger than in the wc. Damn.

Genos and acquiring psychic powers

oH nnoooOO I thought of something horrible just now.

If y'all remember the meta about psychostimulants and I just now thought about Genos' true calling as a defender and potential healer...

Remember how Fubuki healed him firsthand? And stopped him from exploding?

And how Fubuki was doing a lot of actually protecting heroes from certain death on the battlefield and Genos himself trusted in Fubuki to take care of the heroes he brought to her?

I'm pretty sure that part has left a lasting impression on him. And he definitely feel inadequate in protecting people with his own raw power alone.

Then if you remember how in OVA, Genos wishes he had psychic powers so he could have saved sensei's crabs. That seems to be foreshadowing.

I'm calling it here, he's gonna get into his head that he REALLY needs some gosh darn psychic powers to actually protect people, shield them and heal them. Because he feels so inadequate in raw power.

More specifically, against OPM God.

What better way to do it but drink poison in a bottle, ergo psychostimulant that heightens psychic powers?

Courtesy from interrogating Psykos during the psychic sisters arc where he might notice Fubuki's prowess in defending herself with psychic whirlwind too. Against mental powers. He also saw firsthand just how powerful Tatsumaki is with her psychic powers and defending against Psykorochi who was god-empowered. He was in the thick of all that and only staved off her attacks with his own maximum capacity.

All this talk about how God attacks the weak points in one's spirit too and not physical attacks. He'd need to get mentally a lot stronger.

All he needs as incentive is a large scale attack where he is unable to protect everyone, even if he eliminated a threat swiftly, because he can't be everywhere at once. The scale of attack where lots of people actually die. They don't need to physically die, they could just die in his imagination.

If we really want to torture this guy mentally, destroyed schools, parks and dead little kids and lots of orphaned children that he personally comes in contact with. An actual honest to god nightmare scenario for him.

In his free time, Genos spends time at a park where he oversees kids play around. Just in case of monster attacks. And it really angers him to hear this guy be so irresponsible and not issue an evacuation order when these kids might be in danger.

Another type of incentive is that he would feel like he has to mentally protect Saitama and his vulnerable emotions, when Saitama actually starts to show vulnerability. Be his shield, the umbrella from the caustic rain of God's influence. Because he cares for him so much.

But he'd end up becoming a mental meatshield and not an actual shield. That's just how he is. He tried to protect Tatsumaki at the cost of his own well-being and he would definitely try to protect Saitama from mental attacks the same.

Saitama tried to teach him to value his own life and it took root, but there's definitely a setback in the form of the memories from the core, actually remembering dying and being too infatuated, he would not think rationally. All he would think of is not his own well-being, but others. And if Saitama-sensei can just turn back causality, he'd be safe no matter what risky avenue he takes right? He's free to take risks.

Hell, he might be out of commission still when the psychic sisters arc commences and he'd feel even more useless without an actual battle form.

Chances are the memories of everyone dying to Godrou is just about all the incentive he needs. If this is God's power, he needs to shield people from it. He would search for ways to desperately protect people from it if he can't even physically attack OPM God.

As S-rank, he would be privy to the interrogation information as well. Then all he needs is to procure said psychostimulant and he could get those damn psychic powers he thinks he needs.

Too bad doing so would make him 100% susceptible for God's machinations, if he gets a cognitive boost. Or it would just straight up kill him. He has no psychic powers, so he'd probably just fry his own brain or go comatose or whatever.

And I'm not sure but he'd probably gloss over Saitama's reaction to whatever happens to him. Because if something happened to him, Saitama could just bring him back. That is what he expects Saitama's modus operanti to be, but I'm not sure he'd have considered the emotional ramifications of him dying again.

But he does not know something important about Saitama and that is Saitama's own suicidal tendencies. Romeo and Juliet.

Nothing good is in store for Genos, nor Saitama if Genos goes through with this.

i feel like i'm the only person who loves webcomic tatsumaki as much, if not more, than manga tatsumaki. she's just so opaque and challenging to know. and she's waaay more unhinged and out of touch. like she very genuinely doesn't understand why fubuki is scared of her. her sweet, small smile when she says she and fubuki got along as children really just seals the deal. tatsumaki is scary because she doesn't understand why her love is so smothering and oppressive. but that's just so interesting to me. absolutely adore my little gremlin yandere witch with severe emotional issues.

remember the genos = mad cyborg theory (imagine if what happened was that genos turned into a cyborg but the surgery led to him going berserk and destroying his own family and the city was in ( the memories of his family were real he just doesnt remember when he became a cyborg or what exactly happened that day

Well........then Kuseno will have a LOT of explaining to do if he basically sent Genos off unsupervised, armed and unstable with that much loose cannon firepower and an active self-destruct nuke...on a wild goose chase to aimlessly search for and take revenge on...Himself?? 🤔🤔 Simply put, the logistics of that tropey common fan-theory just don't make sense, and it's why I've never been a fan of it, esp if the Genos we've come to know & love has all been a lie, only for the 'reveal' to cause him needlessly more strife and spiraling torment.

Nah, the more likely scenario is that his extreme one-track obsession puts him at a dark risk towards monsterization (opm rules) for his mind to ironically become a mad cyborg (not the) OR his actions put him in a perfect place to become a scapegoat who takes the blame for what the Organization (and The mad cyborg) has done - bc Genos can be so easily framed for the wrongdoings he didn't do if he's not careful! (where the whole thing's a setup just to trap him where they want him.) They've already got a kill-list to harvest prime people to make into cyborg soldiers against their will, and Genos himself is already half-way 'transformed' into a cyborg already, ripe for the picking (again, if he's not careful!) And this makes our current tension-filled webcomic situation. :') Where I'm every bit worried for him!! So let's stay tuned and have patience for what ONE's got planned for him...
