#I've been. rotating and rotating and rotating chapter 186 in my mind for over a week #and you see #I was asking myself #'why is this chapter such a faithful adaptation of the wc? does this negate all that happened in the monster association arc?' #the thing is I was expecting their dynamic to change bc other characters' relationships have changed #like fubuki and tatsumaki. garou and bang #so after the monster association arc the Saitama-Genos dynamic would also change right? #HOWEVER. #the thing is. the way they interact cannot change if the way they see the other doesn't change #Saitama has to first realize that he deeply cares about Genos #this version doesn't remember and doesn't even think about what it would be like to lose him #meanwhile Genos is still putting Saitama on a pedestal and gives more importance to what he thinks and says #even if he isn't right #and that has to change. #opm spoilers #dan weeaboo momence

I’m stuck in a thought loop of thinking I’m a good writer and loving every inch of my work and, thus, not wanting to change it. Versus convincing myself this is something only amateurs do. I, myself, cannot possibly be satisfied with or know what’s best for my work because I have the author’s natural bias. Therefore, only other people know best and all of their words are facts. But every time I’m faced with others, it kills me because of how much I don’t want to change. I automatically feel like a failure because I like what I’ve got. But I can’t like it because that’s the job of a fool and I cannot be a fool because that means professional failure and creative disgrace, especially when you want to build a career out of something like this.

I don’t know how to navigate this other than kill your darlings, throw everything away, and start again. Or give up entirely. I think I’m hopeless to be honest

I get a lot of "omg you're so nice and non-judgemental you're such a good friend" and "omg dude you're way too nice to this asshole they should not be your friend" from irl friends and family and I don't know how to say this but uh, if you had friends like I had when I was a preteen you learn to count your blessings real fucking quickly and stop being choosy on who you befriend. VERY IMPORTANT a dam in the Netherlands, the weerdsluis lock, is directly on a migratory path for spawning fish. They have a worker stationed there to open the door for the fish, but they can take a while to open it. So to keep the fish from getting preyed on by birds they installed a doorbell. Only, the fish don't have hands to ring the doorbell. If you go to their website, they have a LIVE CAMERA AND A DOORBELL that YOU RING FOR THE FISH when they're waiting, and then the dam worker opens the door for them! I can't express how obsessed I am with this. look at this shit. oh my god.

Please check on the fish doorbell once in a while :)

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? we cry "the innocent women and children" to appeal to the masses, to try and force their sympathy, but the men and boys are innocent too.

I have seen sons crying out for their mothers, their fathers, their siblings. I have seen them break down at the loss of their families. I have seen them cling to their dead and grieve.

I have seen fathers cradle their dead children, seen them kiss their faces and hold their little hands. I have seen them faint with grief when asked to identify the dead. I have seen them carry their sons and daughters. I have seen them fasting to provide what little they can for their families.

I have seen men and boys digging through the rubble with just their bare hands, I have seen them comforting strangers, playing with children, rocking them, hushing them, even if the face of such imminent danger. I have seen them cry, seen them grieve, seen them break down into each other's arms, seen them be selfless, beyond selfless, becoming something I don't have a word for.

I have seen the men who are doctors refuse to leave their patients, even when they have no medicine or supplies to give them, even when they're threatened with bombings. I have seen fathers who have lost all their children pick orphans up into their arms and proclaim them their child so they are not alone. I have seen men and boys digging pets out of the rubble.

the men are innocent too. the men and boys are being hurt and killed too. the men and boys are grieving too. the men and boys are scared too. the men and boys are fighting to save their people too. the men and boys deserve to be fought for too.
