AI Scraping Isn't Just Art And Fanfic

Something I haven't really seen mentioned and I think people may want to bear in mind is that while artists are the most heavily impacted by AI visual medium scraping, it's not like the machine knows or cares to differentiate between original art and a photograph of your child.

AI visual media scrapers take everything, and that includes screengrabs, photographs, and memes. Selfies, pictures of your pets and children, pictures of your home, screengrabs of images posted to other sites -- all of the comic book imagery I've posted that I screengrabbed from digital comics, images of tweets (including the icons of peoples' faces in those tweets) and instas and screengrabs from tiktoks. I've posted x-ray images of my teeth. All of that will go into the machine.

That's why, at least I think, Midjourney wants Tumblr -- after Instagram we are potentially the most image-heavy social media site, and like Instagram we tag our content, which is metadata that the scraper can use.

So even if you aren't an artist, unless you want to Glaze every image of any kind that you post, you probably want to opt out of being scraped. I'm gonna go ahead and say we've probably already been scraped anyway, so I don't think there's a ton of point in taking down your tumblr or locking down specific images, but I mean...especially if it's stuff like pictures of children or say, a fundraising photo that involves your medical data, it maybe can't hurt.

If you do want to officially opt out, which may help if there's a class-action lawsuit later, you're going to want to go to the gear in the upper-right corner on the Tumblr desktop site, select each of your blogs from the list on the right-hand side, and scroll down to "Visibility". Select "Prevent third party sharing for [username]" to flip that bad boy on.

Per notes: for the app, go to your blog (the part of the app that shows what you post) and hit the gear in the upper right, then select "visibility" and it will be the last option. If you have not updated your app, it will not appear (confirmed by me, who cannot see it on my elderly version of the app).

You don't need to do it on both desktop and mobile -- either one will opt you out -- but on the app you may need to load each of your sideblogs in turn and then go back into the gear and opt out for that blog, like how you have to go into the settings for each sideblog on desktop and do it.

uuuahaghhh i got my federal tax return while i was at my friend's house, i came home and my parents had left the check on my pillow. i did mobile deposit with my bank app, so its in my account now. i wanted to order the dolls i planned to get immediately, but after the dolls, air dry clay, and a pet brush that i need to make yarn wigs easier, i would only have 11 dollars left from this return. i still have my state return on the way, so im honestly not worried about That, but im afraid that if i spend the money now my parents will get upset at how quickly i went through it. i might have to wait until i get the state return? so that i have more left after buying the stuff so it doesnt look as bad?? i dont know. i hate always feeling like im not allowed to buy anything i want without making them upset. and it sucks cause i know they just care about me and want me to like be more responsible but it just always feels like im never allowed to do anything fun or just because i want to

Tumblr has alot of bots, and the only way to combat them is by blocking and reporting them.

only issue is, bots are identified in the following ways:

- generated username (mythicwolfspace, or other automatic options)

- names in URLs (martajohnson, any real name)

- strings of numbers, specifically when they are after a name (lilliansmith1574 or something)

- default pfp

- photo of oneself in the icon

the problem is- I or someone else might block you by mistake if you have these!

you might get reported/blocked if we think you're a bot

luckily, you only have to do ONE of the following things to prevent this (ofc you can do more):

- reblog things! you can add your own nice input in the hashtags of your reblog! reblogging is part of the essential user interface of the app, which is a whole other post, but it also might not be what someone checks first before blocking you, so I recommend don't one of the others.

- change your icon! if you can't figure out how to do this, you may ask in the replies(comments), or my inbox. same goes for any of these. make sure to choose something a bot wouldn't. your pet, your blorbo (fave character), your pride flag, a picrew (with credits somewhere on your blog), a MEME! in the meantime, I've got a little guy for you if you can't choose just yet:

on mobile you can press and hold to download her, I think it's right click on the image. There are plenty of other ways to customize how your blog looks, like changing the background color or header image, that makes this site unique and cool, but pfp icon is the first impression people get of you.

- change your url if you think it could be mistaken for a bot!

- change your blog title (the big words that show up beneath your icon, not the URL) to say "I'm a human!" or "not a porn bot!", or put a similar phrase in your bio.

- make an original post. even a single one. it can say "I love the smell of ebooks" or some random thing for all anyone cares. you can pin it to the top of your blog so we can see it before your reblogs, just to make sure we can tell you aren't a bot.

as you get used to the platform, I also encourage you to continue customizing your blog, making it more "you"

reblog things you like! entomology, Sherlock, the history of pizza, witchcraft, environmentalism. Any time you see a post and think "huh. cool." and REBLOG it. press and hold the reblog button on mobile and swipe to your blog icon to quickly reblog, or hit the R key on desktop, but you can also go the long way and make an addition or hashtags.

change your background color, make a bio (anything from age and state to just "I reblog posts about carp :3")

tumblr is a cool place to be once we know you're a people!

Nintendogs + Cats + You!

(a game concept for a Nintendogs release on the Switch)

Hardware:

- included with the game is a wireless microphone with a Bluetooth chip

- insert with breed info

Amiibo Compatibility:

- different amiibos award the player with themed treats and single use toys (ex: kirby car cake, inkling/octoling toy that pops, power up mushroom treats)

- using Nintendogs-specific Amiibos for the first time gives a specific dog or cat plush/figurine toy

Animal Breeds:

- starting off with 8-12 breeds, with the original 27 unlockable through friendship

- introduce 3-8 new breeds for a total of 30-35 breeds (possible suggestions: borzoi, pitbull, malamute, newfoundland, Australian cattle dog, Airedale terrier, border collie, rottweiler)

- introduce 1-2 new cat breeds (possible suggestions: sphinx cats, maine coon)

Competitions:

My Forged Wedding Review

I really enjoyed this game and wanted to take the time to review it in whole as well as break down each love interest and my thoughts on them. I got mine on switch so I have everyone but the ones in pink which are the 5 guys that are only accessible through the Love365 app for purchase.

Haruka Utsunomiya

Ok first off I'm going to say this man I am absolutely crazy about. He is one of the best well put together LI I have met. He is genuine, witty, flirty, humble, caring, and compassionate. He loves fiercely and he even has a slight jealousy when its someone he loves. He knows how to stand up and take responsibility for his actions as he grows with a happy relationship. He was the one I felt like I could honestly see being someone I would fall in love with. His was the most natural feeling like everyday life was enough even though he was a type of celebrity you would never know it because the name was more his fathers he just loved arranging flowers as a art to him.

This story and I say this in the fact that very few bring me to tears. That being said not one of the voltage games have ever made me cry but this man and his story did just that. One of the things he said in the story was this "I guess I made everyone's heart stop" MC's response (Including mine). I could feel her words and honestly understand why she said that I think even my heart stopped at that moment as well. Haru sweet Haru will you leave any woman without happiness in her heart!

Yamato Kougami

Ok this guy I honestly thought he was going to be a ass and I was happy I saw a bit softer side of him in Tamaki's story which is what made me want to romance him next. This man talks a big talk but he falls for you faster than I think anyone else does. He likes to pick on you but its in a cute way. I wouldn't say he is as pushy and rude as most Tsunderes start off as but maybe a soft tsundere in him. Anyways this man above all else is just trying to feel connected to someone. His mom died 2 years before, he had never met his dad until recently at the school he teaches at and he lives at home alone with the only company is a roomba vacuum cleaner.

You have to deal with an annoying girl at his school who tries to threaten you but it is such a sweet moment when he walks in on the girl in his home threatening you and he tells her she is nothing but his student and for the first time says he loves you. When he kisses you for the first time its passionate, he makes plans and buys things to fill up the house to make it home. He is the first story that I think goes into more suggestive actions adult nature happening but it was natural like by that point you felt the love between the two there was no other place to go. Honestly I didn't think I could like anyone more than Saeki but hands down this man has such a strong place in my heart. Also he ends up making up with his father which is such an emotional key point in his story. I also want to address that the mc says that she is fat and he says plainly only women care about that he likes a woman thats more the less fluffy so to speak and that warmed my heart being a plus size woman my whole life.

Takamasa Saeki

Now this man is a flirt from the start and its what caught my interest of course. Anyone who knows me when it comes to guys like (Ikki & Tsubaki) knows those guys definitely make me weak in the knees. Anyways his sense of humor and flirtiness I loved from the start. The fact that he wanted to always address her as honey, or sweetie was adorable most guys like to hide away from pet names. He is a big time writer who writes screen plays but even with his work he makes time to make memories with you. One of the sweetest things that I think one me over was one night your drinking with the guys and he tells you as you head home "Hurry up and fall in love with me" I was floored by this I knew at that point he felt something more than platonic. In the end he shows he will fight for your honor, fight for your love, and do anything to make you happy. He even is the cliché of running into a airport to stop you from getting on the plane to express his undying love for you while out of breath. This man has my heart from this series.

Ren Shibasaki

He is a man of few words until you get to know him then you understand why. That being said he is a real sweetheart and when he says he loves you its something you can feel in his words that separate him from everyone else. He really is a prince come to sweep you off your feet so enjoy the ride I promise his quirky ways will have you falling in no time. Even in other routes he is just the same a very sincere person who when he loves you he loves you completely and will do anything to prevent you from being hurt even if it means losing his own happiness for it. I really love his banter with Daniel as well his butler that practically raised him. You can see the banter they have shows a different side of Ren but its still shows how he has grown into an amazing man and I guarantee Daniel has a big part in that.

Takao Maruyama

This man is polite and nice from the beginning. He just wants to please his sick grandmother who wants to meet his fiancé before she might die. It warms my heart that he is this kind of guy and so sweet to see that side of him. He also stands up for women even though he has just met you and a day later he is stepping up shielding you from anything. His brothers are funny wanting to steal you away from him when they are all younger than him. He is a great family guy and you even get to see he would make a great father to a kid because of him having to watch a family member 4 yr old with you. Anyways because he is so reserved he is also boring at times. He is very mundane and honestly even though it had a sweet ending it was hard to get through for me. When he finally did tell her he loved her it was only after he heard her say she was in love with him.

He was willing to walk away from her and never tell her if his brother hadn't tried to date her. I feel like without a strong woman this man would always put everyone before his own needs and his own heart. It doesn't make him a bad guy just means hard to know what he feels along the way. He was cute and respectful but for so long he did treat her like a sibling which was a bit irritating thanks to the grandma who secretly knew it was fake to push them over the top and they got married for her sake however by this time they had realized they were in love and confessed it. His kisses were sweet and I think its one of those guys that will never leave you once they love you though and never have to worry about his faithfulness because his family is his life.

Tamaki Kikushima

Omg this man seems like a asshole the moment you meet him he bumps coffee onto your work application and is too good to even apologize. Then he tells you he is the son of the company your applying for and if you can drink him under the table he will leave you alone if not you have to be his fake wife and do all the wife duties for a month then he will make sure you get the job. It starts off that you are naked in bed with nothing but panties on so it insinuates you slept with him. That being said what kind of man does that make him when you were obviously intoxicated when he slept with you. He acts like a rich entitled asshole not even like a tsundere at all which is what I thought he was at first. So I figured out by looking it up he is a oresama which in my book is not my cup of tea. He will stay a ass even up until the end. Even when he announces he is in love the way he does it I just can't understand why the MC even loves him. The one guy through the story that is right there trying to shield you is yamato which I found sweet. Anyways lets just say I didn't bother to do his pov or anything else wasn't going to pay anymore into this man because this love interest just was annoying. Yuta Kajima

This guy bored me from the very start I just didn't feel any chemistry whatsoever. The first few chapters it was all about making his career big in comedian with you having to play his scary wife which was annoying. Its like I don't know of he is supposed to be submissive or something but it was just irritating to me. Not even far into the story was this weird ear thing where he wanted her to rub his ears for good luck. I found it a bit rude that your willing to put your life on hold to make his comedian career happen yet when he gives you a wedding ring to be his wife he doesn't seemed bothered about putting the ring on your finger but refuses for you to put it on his. Like I said 100% lacks any romance between them. Also the mc practically friend zones him in her mind from the beginning, saying he feels like she can be close to him cause he is like a great friend she has known awhile. I got so bored I started dozing off and was only in chapter 5. I just had to quit maybe one day I will go back to this and finish it but for now it just was not interesting enough, he wasn't interesting enough for me.

Akito Kakiuchi

Childhood Crush is about the main part I know and due to this it can go either way whichever your choice is. I read the sample and it just didn't grab my attention enough to purchase it.

Kunihiko Aikawa

Uncle yet not by blood. Its weird this whole time in the rest of the routes you hear be lazy and sometimes even a bit manipulative when he tells the MC she has to help these guys or he won't help her find a job. He comes off as a playboy and even though I started with his route and it seemed ok I felt it was too slow of a start to me. For me to read reviews and find she is supposed to be in love with him her whole life even though she just remembers now just seemed too made up for me I couldn't get behind it. Maybe on day I will decide to put the money into it or it comes as a dlc to the switch game one we shall see. I will say this much though least he is hot.

Kyoichi Kunishiro

This guy seems to be one of the worst. I read over other reviews as well as what was said on the app and even did his free first chapter and honestly this man is not in anyway worth me paying for. He is egotistical, arrogant, cold, manipulative creep. He has no belief love even exists or cares if it really does. He is way worse in his rudeness than Tamaki at least Tamaki has his looks going for him this guy is plain fugly on top of it all. Even his sweet endings from what I read really aren't worth it. I guess if you like an abusive man who makes fun of you and has no real intentions of romantically showering you with love and god forbid he is not a Tsundere he makes tsunderes seem like they are nice from the beginning.

So I feel like its better to put these out there I did not purchase either of the last 3 however I don't want to say good or bad about these 3 because most the reviews I have read can go either way with them except Kyoichi he seems to be a ass to most. So I will let that be your choice if later I decide to purchase them on the app I will come back and repost with the reviews. Not going to lie at some point I probably will come back and purchase the 2 but as for now saving my credits to binge more of my sexy man Haruka.

Well, the truth is: I love technology. It makes my life easier, and when it comes to witchcraft, I have found so many different tools to both boost my academic productivity and help keep my focus.

i have been doing more messing around with javascript and userscripts in mobile browsers, and i'm running Eruda mobile devtools via the adguard for android app.

i discovered a mysterious local storage object set in my mobile browser just now when looking at the resources tab on my dashboard. it's called Extreme Horse Zone and i am intrigued??

is this an unimplemented digital pet minigame? is this an embedded ad or something tumblr @staff created? most importantly, where can i find the horses and how can i take care of my currentHorse named Corporate Compromise??

Otome Notes- Kissed By The Baddest Bidder: An Ota Kisaki Introspective, Part 1

Kissed By The Baddest Bidder is an otome game originally published on mobile by Voltage Inc, currently available in a condensed form on the Nintendo Switch, and in its entirety on the mobile app Love365.

The premise of the game is that you(the MC) are a maid working for the Ichinomiya Group's Tres Spades Hotel and Casino, a fancy hotel in Japan, the first ever to feature a casino.

Through a series of unfortunate events, you break something irreplaceable and find out the hard way that the popular celebrity event held monthly at your hotel is actually a cover for an underground black market auction.

When you're put up for auction without your consent, the CEO (and your boss)Eisuke, and his fellow VIP buddies quickly determine that the best course of action is to bid on you themselves, to cover their own asses and make sure you don't give away their secrets.

Along with Eisuke Ichinomiya, there are also 4 other men to choose from originally: Soryu Oh, a Hong Kong mobster, Mitsunari Baba, a self proclaimed thief, Mamoru Kishi, a detective, and finally, Ota Kisaki, the "Angelic Artist".

Ota is a 24 year old artistic prodigy who is known for his angelic looks and personality. When you meet him briefly before the auction, he strikes you as a really nice guy, so you decide to choose him as seemingly the safest option.

And then, he speaks.

Yikes. Ota's 'reason' for buying you is that you remind him of his former dog, Koro. He insists on treating you like a pet, at least insofar as he addresses you as 'Koro', you stay in his room, you 'obey your master'(think 'come when you're called, sit, stay, shake' type things), and you give him love and affection, which he will then return to you, as any good 'owner' would.

Originally when I first played the game, I saw this as a creepy pet fetish and it weirded me out a lot. I mean, don't get me wrong, it is quite weird, no matter how you slice it.

I also want to note for the record, I myself do NOT have any kind of fetish nor do I indulge in pet play myself, so when I refer to this aspect of his character, I only have the limited information that I've searched out on the internet, and no personal knowledge or experience of my own to offer.

Like I mentioned above, this aspect of his character really put me off at first, but upon replaying it, and playing many other Voltage titles, I've realized more and more that I just can't bring myself to dislike Ota, even though he can be creepy and quite toxic.

So today I sat down and played the whole Season 1 Main Story in one sitting, and this is the culmination of what I've noticed about Ota as a character.

From the very beginning, I found this statement of Ota's very telling. This is what he loved about Koro and this is what he wants from 'someone', but since he sees Koro in you, it's you he intends to get it from.

When you first meet Ota, he's all smiles and kindness, but soon after meeting him, you discover he has a dark, nasty side to him.

He has a very high wall between himself and most others and doesn't hesitate to speak his mind regardless of how it comes across around people he trusts or knows well.

With you, though, Ota is different most of the time. Because to him, you're not (MC), you're 'Koro'. As long as you follow his orders, he is nothing but sweet to you.

He definitely doesn't care what you think about it though.

I looked into the idea of his fetish, which appears to be something known as 'pet play', where a couple role plays being a puppy or their 'handler' (aka owner), from a submissive/dominant perspective.

It seems by this definition to be something much more sexual than the situation that Ota puts the MC into, but it was the closest fit I could find that made sense to the story, so it's what I rolled with for the purpose of this article.

According to the information I've been able to find on this type of 'play', consent is EXTREMELY important between the sub and dom, and if there is no consent, it's abuse.

That's where the concept of Ota having a fetish in the truest sense of the word didn't sit right with me, because while there is no consent between Ota and MC here, I'd also argue that within the confines of the situation, there is also no abuse.

At the same time, I never sense anything sexual about the whole 'pet/owner' thing between the MC and Ota. When things get spicy between them, that is when he lets down his guard and acknowledges her as the human (and woman) she is.

There is no doubt he absolutely does treat her like a dog. That part does grate on a person's nerves quite a bit. I mean, obviously she doesn't want to be treated like a dog, and it's extremely rude of him to do so.

I just can't help but notice how sweet he is to her when he's in 'owner' mode, though.

Here he shows real concern for her when she's being bullied by Erika into doing all this mending by herself, and when she bursts into tears, he comforts her and then steps in to make sure it doesn't happen again.

The next couple of screenshots I will post are examples of the 'pet-like' behaviors he wants to see from her. Relatively harmless stuff, and I absolutely believe there's a deeper reason for it then even he realizes at this point.

Slowly but surely, he doesn't relinquish control over her, but he does start to dote on her much more, going out of his way to do things for her and make sure that she's having fun and enjoying herself.

When things get heavy and a rival of Ota's tries to interfere with his career, both the MC and Ota let their guards down, and MC doubles down on her 'pet' role, telling Ota that a pet's role is to 'comfort their master, right?'

This is where things get dicey. I keep coming back to this part of the story again and again, because things just don't fit into place in a way that I'm satisfied with.

I didn't think anything of it originally, but on an episode of a podcast I watched specifically ABOUT Kissed By The Baddest Bidder, they mentioned that the ensuing sexual encounter between MC and Ota was not consensual.

I had to go back and watch the episode again, where I absolutely saw where the ladies were coming from. But, it still didn't feel right. So I played through it again, and again. There are 3 crucial statements that she makes here that to me, illuminate her state of mind.

When he makes it clear that it's headed in a sexual direction, MC panics, and this is what she thinks.

The next thought that she forms insinuates that she's on board, or at least, not actively objecting anymore.

I don't exactly recall what happens next between them, but then she says this:

When I read that, I thought to myself that maybe I was wrong, because even though she was nervous at first, at this point both her body and her mind seem to be into it. At least when I hear the phrase 'fills my heart with warmth' I think of deep affection, if not love.

So after reading that, I didn't feel nearly as grossed out when she strokes his head and thinks about how she might be in love with him. It definitely started out uncomfortable for her, but I think in the end it was a consensual meeting of bodies, if nothing else.

I don't think that their intentions necessarily aligned here, which might be where it feels more icky that it might otherwise.

All Ota seems to have realized at this point is that he 'needs' her and that she makes him feel good.

Once they return to the hotel, however, Ota's treatment of the MC changes. He's much more possessive of her, he's less patronizing, and he shows more interest in her as a person than he seemed to prior.

Yes, he still refers to her as Koro and leans on the comfort of being her 'owner', but there are many moments where the walls come down and Ota speaks to her as an equal and a woman without even realizing it, like when he goes out for karaoke with her, or when he tells her he'll draw her one day.

In his POV of Season 1, he thinks some telling things in those moments. Like when they're at karaoke:

The owner thing only comes into play at that point when she oversteps his internal boundaries and pushes his comfort zone, like when she worries out loud about the situation with Rin and that douchey reporter.

He pushes her away, and it hurts her, but when he's away from her, he realizes that not only does he miss her, but he thinks of her as more than a pet.

When she runs away to prevent the auctions from being exposed and making things harder on Ota, he finally acknowledges her as human to him.

The thing about Ota is, he has a tendency to tell the truth and then cover it up with an arrogant, cocky tangent, so you don't necessary catch it.

It's such a heartfelt, loving moment. But then...

Bullshit, Ota.

I believe Ota has a psychological condition known as Reactive Attachment Disorder.

Reactive Attachment Disorder is, in a nutshell, a condition which inhibits a person's ability to form healthy connections/relationships with people.

This is a list of symptoms attributed to the condition:

Detachment

Withdrawal from connections

Inability to develop and maintain significant relationships, romantic or otherwise

Inability to show affection

Resistance to giving and receiving love despite craving it

Control issues

Anger problems

Impulsivity

Sense of distrust

Inability to fully grasp emotions

Feelings of loneliness and emptiness

Lack of a sense of belonging

I feel like you see many of these behaviors out of Ota during this storyline, and not so much of the more toxic, overtly sexual aspects of the implied pet fetish. (Not that the fetish itself is toxic, but due to the blatant disregard for consent, Ota's version would definitely be)

So to me, Ota's whole 'Koro' thing simply comes from a place of wanting connection and feeling like the only place he ever got that and ever will get it, is from a loving pet.

When you think of it that way, it's really sad, honestly.

And just like any person/partner struggling with childhood trauma, Ota backslides into toxic behavior throughout the rest of his story. He also definitely keeps that mask firmly on his face for the rest of the world.

As you continue on into more of Ota's story, you learn more about his background, why he struggles to trust, and his distant familial relationships growing up.

Perhaps it's easier for me to come to this conclusion having more of that background than some people who've played Ota's Season 1 story and then put it down due to the ick factor. That's more than fair.

That's why I decided to break this up into parts, and I'm going to play through the rest of the Switch content and add more to this as I go.

Kissed By The Baddest Bidder actually has some really interesting storylines and well fleshed out characters, but unfortunately, in some cases you have to dig a bit deeper to get the full nuance of it all.

I 100% intend to purchase the rest of his content via the DLC on the Switch and then the other stories on Love365 as well, so I can get the full picture.

I just really felt the urge to put pen to paper as it were and give Ota the benefit of the doubt a little, cause I just think this guy needs a big hug.

ok so yknow how in what the worlds needs in the proshot ocean sings "angry birds, candy crush, hes a real sweet kid but his brains are mush" for rickys part. that got me thinking abt what other mobile games she and the choir would play bc i love playing games on my phone so boom headcanon time

ok so ofc all the choir would have one of those apps that allows u to play with your friends, like gamepidgeon but i dont have an iphone so im saying plato + on plato u can play w 2+ ppl 👍

ocean- she claims to be better than ppl who get sucked into their phones and all that but plays like sudoku and those brain teaser games but rage quits when she can't figure it out and won't use hints bc she "doesn't want to cheat"

constance- she likes all those simulation games w the cute animals, yknow the ones. restaurant sims and house decorating games, just cute calming little games. probs also played a bit of episode, and definitely got into mystic messenger. she'd stay up late just so she wouldn't miss a chat. also likes adorable home and any of those games where u have like a pet to take care of. she makes sure to log on everyday so that her pets survive

noel- ok i had a bit of a hard w him but im feeling like,, creepy puzzle games? like those mystery games where u play as like a detective or smth along those lines. also mayb design games

mischa- projecting here but solitaire. not just normal solitaire but all the different versions too (is this bc i have uhm, 189 hours on Solitaire Grand Harvest alone, yea yea it is). also like, pool and games like that. likes action games and shooter games too yknow.

jane/penny- has all of the papas to go games (definitely paid for them all yup mhm /s). i feel like she'd like idv bc the aesthetic seems fitting for her but the creators n most players suck so like, if she didnt have to deal w all that she'd love it (i used to play and lemme say the chat was,,,,,,,) i like to imagine her n the rest of the choir playing n shes the hunter and just sneaks up on everyone and scares the shit outta them. also would probably download the games from weird ads for shits n giggles

I don't know about anyone else but I'm super excited for Franz, so woe - Franz news be upon you, in-between Pathologic ARG updates. This is an interview with Nikolai Dybowsky about the current state of the game and more tidbits on how it works. Unordered English info below:

The game is finished! It has been finished for many months. It sounds like they're just struggling on how to tag it in app stores and within the mobile app industry. It's "non-conforming."

Franz is named Franz because Franz is a Franz. Furthermore, she's not female, she's a "tulpa," or some kind of creature not beholden to gender, and is she in pronoun only.

Interacting with the strange and a fleshed out deconstruction of the word "abuse" or the phrase "abusive relationships" are a few of the themes in the game. With reference to the antagonistic relationship you're expected to have with Franz. Tamagotchi who hates you. The game plays around with natural power balances found in relationships and who, between the user and Franz, is the one on top.

Dybowsky is asked several times about AI and honestly, he sounds pretty tired of these questions. That's my impression. But he does have some interesting things to say - one, Franz has not been made with any kind of neural network. Two, this is not a game about AI. At all. It's about you and your phone pet. "What difference does it make whether the Lord God, a person or an algorithm is there? Who cares." He also says that Franz isn't a bot.

Franz will have access to things on your phone, Dybowsky stresses that they're following rules and the supervision of the stores they're publishing in when it comes to the concern of information gathering. He won't say what she can do yet, though. ":)"

What if you ignore Franz? Well, he says they're not going to stoop to those classic horror copypasta threats of: Franz Will Crawl Out Of Your Phone And Kill You. The "reprisal" of ignoring Franz is that, simply, she and the game will go unfinished. If that's the ending you'd like, or rationalize is best, go for it.

best experience: honestly this fandom has been a great way to get me out of a writing funk/block that i had been experiencing for like...months before i finally watched yj. you all have been great and welcoming and put up with listening to me ramble and defend this cute lil blonde nerd. i've had the most fun in this fandom than i have in a long while and that's saying something as i've been in many fandoms over the years. but yea...this fandom has felt like coming home after a long trip <3

rp pet peeves: i'm old RP wise so i got me a good...500 mile long report of pet peeves lol but the biggest are no rules page, no information when it's a oc(s), flat out not reading my own rules 'cause i can tell when they have not been read ( folks with -0 information on their blogs and or no links leading to said information like...tell me you followed without reading rules without telling me ), i don't know why it's still such a thing in the year of our toad 2023, but vague posting. it just makes all the vibes go to shit real quick and no thank. there are many more but i will keep from sounding like an old person on their porch yellin' at the wind.

plots or memes: both? both is good. i don't know what it is with memes, but i tend to have a habit of basing a plot off a meme and wind up with a bitchin' plot that makes sense. memes are also, in my opinion, a great way to break the ice and get everyone involved relaxed enough to reach out. also i hoard memes for the days drafts are a big no and my brain is mush, but not mush enough to do memes. if that makes sense lol

long or short replies: i am go with the motion of the ocean kinda gal. if you give me semi-para, i'm gonna give it right back. sometimes i can word vomit ( sorry not sorry joey ) 'cause the muse be takin' over. but i also don't mind doing shorter replies / one para replies. so long as it's more than like two complete sentences, i'm chill.

are you like your muse: i could lie and say no, but i am. not completely, but there are bits and pieces of misty that are also very much char. it's part of the reason why i picked her up as a muse because i was able to relate to her ( struggling to make friends, not knowing how to go about it, feeling like an outsider even though technically apart of a team, etc. ) it's also why i try to give her a loud enough voice to be heard and listened to over the others. because i can acknowledge her faults and in some instances, so can misty herself, but there's also well, what would you have done? in there as well. like...she's fucked up and flawed but so are the others who tend to think they're above her and the things she's done when in reality they're not. and i don't know but there's just something about that that is so relatable that i can connect to at some degree. but also including the multi, i'm very much like van like...i will yell about movies and pop culture bullshit if ever given the chance.
