Mr.Flanagan ,Where you the guy with a coffee cup in the background in Episode 1 of Midnight mass around 8.56 ?
Tumblr media
Yep, that's Pope Incognito, incognito. A bit of trivia, the mailbox of that house says "Flanagan". You can see it in the Midnight Mass: Art of Horror book they released with the show. And the mailbox across the street says "Fimognari", for DP Michael Fimognari. We really wanted to be proper residents of Crockett Island.

i am literally in love with reagan ridley so can you write a reagan ridley x fem!reader that works in the assassination department? maybe how they first met and how the dates are like, thank you n take care<333
I LOVE THIS EHHEHESHA
Tumblr media
HOW YOU MET
you both met when JR assigned you to fake assassinate reagan to get away from rafe
you almost actually shot her so you got an earful off her
"YOU ALMOST KILLED ME!! ARE YOU INSANE?? DO YOU WANT ME DEAD??"
"I'M JUST REALLY GOOD AT MY JOB!!"
so then she looks into that a bit too much
she may or may not have gotten you to kill multiple people
HOW YOU TO GOT TOGETHER
after you assassinated the pope, the entire office congratulated you and you smiled at her
she stopped working until myc put his dick tentacle on her head and said,
"woah, you are FREAKISHLY in love with them.."
"HEY!! SHUSH!!"
after about an hour of contemplating, she gave you a letter because she was too awkward to actually speak in person
she sent it on a roomba
and she wrote on the most stained, crumpled up piece of paper in the most scrawny handwriting ever
I love you a
I really really really like you, but I have no idea on how to say it to you in person so forgive me for that.
would you like to go to
FUCK WHY IS THIS SO HARD
would you go out with me?? tick a box
yes no
obviously you ticked yes, then followed the roomba to where she was (her office) and gave her the biggest smooch of her life
HAHAHDASHGGHDASHGDSHGCDBHV <33
DATES
she would 100% let you snipe people from the rooftop of incognito while holding your hand
she doesn't really like going out to fancy dinners, so your dates usually consist of at home, playing video games, takeout and netflix and falling asleep on the couch
she doesn't care what she's doing as long as its with you <33

On January 31st 1788 Prince Charles Edward Stewart died in Palazzo Muti, Rome, he was 67.
A longer than normal post, but he had a profound affect on events in Scotland, so it's merited......
Well he actually died the day before, but you’ll need to read the post in full as to why history gives this date!
With Bonnie Prince Charlie featuring in a number of my posts throughout the year I will cover the latter part of his life today, basically after Culloden.
When Prince Charles escaped from the battlefield at Culloden, he left almost all his personal possessions behind. During the months that followed he was hunted by government forces throughout the western Highlands and Isles. He was helped by many loyal followers, and this period gave rise to some of the most enduring myths of the rising.
I think it shows the loyalty he was given by the Highlanders that he managed to evade capture, over the five months after Culloden and no doubt execution. He was sheltered, smuggled from hiding place to hiding place, and given clothes and other items, by Gaels who risked their own safety to help him.
Charles eventually escaped to France and then Rome. Many of his followers were captured and some executed. Others were forced into exile and had their lands forfeited. The government was determined to eliminate the Jacobite cause once and for all.
The Highlands were disarmed and even highland dress was banned for a time. The breakdown of the clan system accelerated, while improved roads and forts led to more effective government control of remoter areas.
On reaching the safety of France Charlie sked King Louis XV for 20,000 more soldiers to help "finish the job”. The myth propagated by his Hanoverian enemies was that Prince Charlie abandoned Scotland after Culloden. The memorandum written by the Prince to the King of France on 5th November 1746 provides evidence, in the Prince’s own hand, that directly contradicts this myth.
In the letter, seen in the third pic, the Prince wrote: “I never lacked Scottish subjects ready to fight. What I did simultaneously lack was money, supplies and a handful of regular troops; with but one of these three, I would today still be master of Scotland and probably the whole of England."
He goes on to claim he could have marched into London “unopposed" after his clear victory over General Cope’s troops at Prestonpans in September 1745 had he 3,000 more soldiers under his command.
At the time, Duke of Cumberland and the British Army were then in Flanders fighting the French and their allies in the Austrian War of Succession.
Things turned sour for Charles when the French and English reached a peace deal, where they recognised the right of King George and his successors to sit on the British throne, ending their support for the Stuart cause. Prince Charles was then expelled from France.
As far as the French Government were concerned, Prince Charles and his Highland supporters had served their purpose as pawns in their wider political game. The Prince had now become an embarrassment to them and was of no further value. Not that the peace lasted that long, both countries were at it again within ten years.
At one stage, accepting the fact that as a Catholic he was unlikely to ever be crowned King Charles indicated to his followers he was willing to become a Protestant in order to accede to the throne. In 1750 he visited London incognito, staying at a safe house near Holborn and converted to Protestantism by receiving Anglican Communion. But due to his increasingly brusque and argumentative manner he managed to alienate himself from the French foreign minister in 1759 who was planning an invasion of England in the midst of the Seven Years’ War between Britain and France. After Prince Charles’ father James III died in 1766, Pope Clement XIII recognised James as King of England, Scotland and Ireland but did not bestow the same title on his son Prince Charles.
Over the decades as he grew older and bitter about his lost cause he turned to alcohol as his dream for restoring his lineage faded.
The Prince is known to have travelled around Europe in the years that followed, trying to garner support for another tilt at regaining the crown for the Stuarts, Often using an alias, he spent a couple of years in Basel, Switzerland as W. Thompson physician and ‘gentillhomme Anglais.’ He later spent time in Florence in 1774, where he was provided with a residence by Prince Corsini, he used the alias Count of Albany at this time. Charles's health deteriorated in later life, and he was reported to have suffered from asthma, high blood pressure, swollen legs and ulcers. He suffered constantly from his illnesses, which required him to be carried by his servants to and from his carriage.
After separating, she claimed that Charles had physically abused her. This claim was generally believed by contemporaries. The historian Douglas states that Charles had been drinking following Saint Andrew's Day celebrations, and after accusing Louise of infidelities, may have attempted to rape her, resulting in her screaming to the extent that the household servants intervened. In the years that followed, the pope awarded Louise half of Charles's papal pension, and Charles's international reputation was greatly damaged. He was said to live an increasingly isolated and unhappy life, especially after his brother Henry agreed to house Louise at his estate.
By 1783 his health was deteriorating swiftly to the extent that during one bout of illness he was giver the last rites. Although Charles recovered, he agreed to create a new will, and signed an act of legitimation for his illegitimate daughter Charlotte. Charles also gave her the title "Duchess of Albany" in the peerage of Scotland and the style "Her Royal Highness", but these honours did not give Charlotte any right of succession to the throne. His daughter stayed with him until his death, she herself only lived for less than two years dying unmarried at Bologna in November 1789
Charles died in Rome of a stroke on 30th January 1788, the cardinals stated officially that he died on the morning of 31st January, as it was deemed unlucky to have him declared dead on the same date as his great-grandfather, King Charles I, who of course was covered in an extensive post yesterday.
On his death, a cast of his face was made, and his body was embalmed and placed in a coffin of cypress wood. Adorned with the Order of the Thistle, the Cross of St Andrew, the Order of the Garter and the Cross of St George
On Charles’s death in 1788, his brother, Henry Benedict, became the Jacobite Henry IX of England and I of Scotland, it was with him that the direct, legitimate line ended on his death in 1807. By this time the beleaguered cardinal, who had witnessed the French Revolution (and lost the financial support of his Bourbon cousin in the process) had begun receiving an annual pension of £4,000 from George III – yes, from the very Hanoverian monarch or, in Jacobite terminology ‘usurper’, that his father and brother had fought so hard, and at such great cost, to remove from the British throne. Henry, unlike his father and brother, did not press his claim.
There is an interesting article about Charles in the Scotsman from a year ago, unlike most of the posts I have read about him in the newspaper it is actually very sympathetic and defends him in some ways, it is quite scathing towards Diana Gabaldon‘s Outlander, not all of which is deserved in my own point of view, the show, and books , are after all a work of fiction, and only draw on actual events.

⚠️ Potential SPOILERS ahead ⚠️
Okay, so a couple of things after rewatching both the teaser and trailer:
1. (This is a promo pic, but still.) Absolutely love this shot. The reflection of Jesus on Ava makes it look like He’s merging with her. She’s the Savior AND the Chosen One 👀
Tumblr media
2. Didn’t notice this the first time, but Adriel does capture Camila and hold her hostage (and maybe corrupt her later on?). Uh-oh.
Tumblr media
3. I’m so uncertain which side Pope Duretti is on because in both teaser & trailer, we see him at a gathering celebrating with Adriel + Firstborn Children, and also interrogating then torturing a man when he says he’s God’s enemy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
4. The Sister Warriors seem to have infiltrated the Firstborn Children’s cult(?), since they’re wearing the same outfit as them. And we see them (see: Avatrice) seemingly carrying out a mission incognito. I assume they then get busted as we see Beatrice in her iconic chainmail + bō fighting the ninja fellas the guy with the eyepatch dispatched (I’m guessing he’s the leader), and they look to be the ones chasing Ava, too, right before she phases thru the wall.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
5. And lastly, please correct me if I’m wrong, but the Warrior Nun is the one who wields the Divinium Sword, right? So if that’s the case, then this has to be Ava because it only glows when in close proximity to the halo, right? (Please let it be Ava 🤞🏼 This part was in the teaser that was released months ago.)

Ghost: The secrets of an occult-themed, arena-rocking, heavy-metal band
Tumblr media
Tobias Forge was a long way from making-it as a musician. He was living in a one-bedroom apartment in Sweden, and dreamt of playing guitar for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. He’d never been a lead singer or anything like that.
“I’d always pictured myself more like a Frusciante-type of musician,” Forge recalls, referring to Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante. “Like, I’m a guitar player but also a backup singer, and just sort of second-fiddle in a band.”
Then, about 15 years ago, Forge started writing a new batch of occult-themed heavy-metal songs on his black Gibson SG guitar, the horn-shaped instrument used by guitarists like AC/DC’s Angus Young and Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi. They were for a new project Forge called Ghost.
Back then he thought, “I’m just gonna write songs that feel intuitive and fun. And Ghost might be a fun little project that I was going to do sometime. One day I’m going to find a singer for this, we can put together a band and maybe this will become a fun hobby.”
Beside writing and recording the music, Forge ended up being the frontman for Ghost too. The songs he created in that small apartment eventually became “Opus Eponymous.” That 2010 debut album made Ghost metal’s buzziest new band. Forge’s eerie, melodic vocals on tracks like “Ritual” made Ghost’s batwing-metal standout from other contemporary groups.
“All the songs on the first record were really written spontaneously,” Forge says. “It was very playful with no expectations, no rules nothing. And after you’ve done one record and if you’ve achieved any form of success, it’s hard to emulate that same thing because of several reasons. That album will always a very special place in my heart. It comes from my old world where I had very little. I had friends and loves and a guitar, but I didn’t have a lot of success.”
Then there was the band’s unique striking look. Onstage with Ghost, Forge performs as Papa Emeritus, a sort of Satanic anti-pope, beneath prosthetics, makeup and costuming. This made him rock’s most mysterious new frontman. Forge’s identity remained a secreted for three album cycles, until 2017. Onstage, Forge is backed by a band of Nameless Ghouls, all wearing identical evil-looking masks and performing incognito. Stage sets for their live shows are designed like an unholy church.
Tumblr media
Ghost’s music can sometimes evoke Blue Oyster Cult or Diamond Head. But Forge has been more influenced by KISS and Alice Cooper, rock greats known for putting visuals and songs together.
Ghost’s music, songs and imagery attracted Eddie Munson-type metal-fans and even members of classic bands. Iron Maiden, Metallica and Guns N’ Roses each took Ghost out on tours. Pantera singer Phil Anselmo wore a Ghost T-shirt onstage with his band Down.
Foo Fighters boss Dave Grohl produced and played on “If You Have Ghost,” Ghost’s covers-heavy EP with bitchin’ version of ABBA’s “I’m A Marionette.” The band’s last two albums were mixed by Andy Wallace, the studio legend who mixed Nirvana’s “Nevermind.”
Each of Ghost’s albums has charted higher than the last. Fifth LP “Impera,” debuted at number-two this year, and birthed a pair of number-one rock hits: “Call Me Little Sunshine” and “Hunter’s Moon.”
“Square Hammer,” from 2016, might be the catchiest song ever about sacred coffins. In 2018, Ghost’s single “Cirice,” a prog-metal epic with a video inspired by vintage horror-film “Carrie,” won the band its first Grammy.
By 2019, Ghost was headlining arenas. On a recent afternoon, Forge checks in via phone from one of those arenas, San Diego’s Pechanga Arena, from the band’s current North American tour. (Tour dates at ghost-official.com.) Edited excerpts from our conversation are below.
Tobias, as a singer and musician, what do you love most about performing in arenas?
From a very practical point of view, I love the consistency. We are a very production-heavy band, and playing anything but arenas is tempering with the show.
Even if you’re playing big theaters, which is really cool and really intimate and really nice. But consistency-wise, some of them changed a lot every day. So, whatever people have seen on YouTube, maybe when we came to their city, we couldn’t do X, Y and Z just because of something (at that theater-sized venue) that didn’t allow for that.
There is the occasional rare anomaly in arenas as well. But overall, you’re able to give people the same show. People everywhere pay a very similar price, and when they’re paying for something they expect, I want them to have that.
And as a performer, playing in front of a lot of people, I can’t imagine anything more gratifying than to make people happy. Maybe we can turn a bad day or mediocre day into something great. And that’s what it feels like, more often than not, when we’ve played.
The new Ghost album opens up with the one-two of the tracks “Imperium” and “Kaisarion.” They reminded me of early Queen, in that the music’s regal sounding but also thoroughly rocking. What were you going for there?
That is exactly what I tried to do. I wanted to have you a semi philharmonic but made with guitars sort of intro, as in Queen what they did on … What’s that song from the second album? The Brian May song where he composed this fantastic sort of classical piece for guitar?
“Procession.”
There you go. I always like composing an intro for the record, because that means that we’re going to use that in the show later. So, you have like a new intro every time (the band goes on a new tour).
It was actually an old riff that I had and had been playing around with forever. And that’s how a lot of my ideas sort of come to fruition, because I compose all the time. But just because I’ve been composing doesn’t mean that I’m sitting in studio. It means that I go around humming and after a while I hum it into my phone or grab my guitar or piano or something to sort of memorize it. And then I’m just putting it aside as a sort of a seedling. Then when it comes time to make a record, I just pick up all the seedlings and try to plant them and see which grow into big trees.
Onstage with Ghost, you sing with mic in hand, and not playing guitar. As much guitar as you’ve written and recorded for Ghost, do you ever foresee you playing guitar onstage with the band? Like a frontman who also plays guitar on stage. Like Jimi Hendrix did, but heavy-metal.
I don’t know. Right now I don’t feel that is suitable. But if I change my mind in the future, if it feels more natural that way, maybe. But as we progress and as we grow bigger and as time goes on, we need to flex the show with other things.
I wish I was a better piano player, actually. I’m an able sort of keyboard player when it comes to being in the studio and all that, but I’m not very good at playing something from start to finish. Quite an able drummer as well. So, I can sort of jump between several things. And if it was just like one song or something, we could do that, which could be fun.
Tumblr media
The drums that open the Ghost song “Stand By Him” off the debut album remind me of the intro on early Motley Crue song “Starry Eyes.” Was that the inspiration?
Uh, yes and no. I mean, ever since I was very little, I’ve loved the two first albums by Motley Crue (“Too Fast For Love” and “Shout At The Devil”). But the two first albums only. And a little bit of “Dr. Feelgood.”
(“Stand By Him”) just felt like a classic (song). I just wanted a steady beat and then the song to start, and that feels like a very power-pop thing too. Motley Crue’s first two albums were very influenced by a lot of Slade and Mott the Hoople and stuff like that. And so it felt more like just a traditional thing to do. But yeah, I’ve listened a lot to a Motley Crue, so maybe it came from there. But at the time, I wasn’t thinking about anything.
Is it true or false Dave Grohl has dressed up as a Nameless Ghoul and performed with Ghost?
I’m gonna have to answer your question just from a very legal point of view, where I just say yes. He has technically put on Ghoul clothes and played drums together with us in a Ghost concept.
How long does it take before a show for you to get into Pap Emeritus mode, with the mask, makeup and costuming and everything?
It’s hard to say. Because on a day like this when we’re playing, it feels like it’s starting very early in the day, and everything is pretty much scripted in order for everything to function. Because I hate to break it to you to kids, but we are not 20-years-old. So, in order for us 40 somethings not to break a leg every show, we have to keep in shape. I’m lapping around the arena right now. And I try to play drums for an hour before the show just to sort of warm up.
If you mean the actual transformation, that takes about 40 minutes to an hour, depending on if you want to stress through it or if you want to sort of do it in a calm getting-into-character way. But I like it like that. I am very habitual, and I have a hard time functioning when things aren’t scheduled, which I’m sure a lot of readers can relate to if you’re somewhat on the spectrum. [Laughs]
There aren’t many rock bands from your era as big as Ghost. Why was Ghost able to breakthrough at a time when pop, R&B and rap acts dominate commercially?
I think there are various reasons. And it all combined in alignment, sort of created the sum our career. But I think our sound and our way of not writing the same record every time, but still having a signature DNA in it has helped. I think it has helped we have consistently tried to bring a show to the people. It defies logic for a lot of bands, I think, to try to expand beyond their means.
But that was aided by the fact that I was the only one that invested and everybody else was paid. [Laughs] If we had people voting on everything, it would not have happened this way. Because I was so determined that, yeah, I want to be what Metallica was in the’ 80s, on the “…And Justice For All” tour. That sort of band or like “Powerslave” with Iron Maiden. That sort of f---ing theater and playing arenas.
And I’ve always been very, very influenced by Pink Floyd and Rolling Stones. As much as I’m a sucker and grew up listening to really obscure, very extreme death-metal, I also have a huge alignment and childhood love with big-ass arena rock.
And in this day and age, especially when rock isn’t the flavor of the day, I think it has behooved us that we’ve sort of moved against the pack. When we were debutantes, it was still that like emo-core going on, and we stood out like a sore thumb.
Somehow, we were lucky enough people started embracing us as well, even though we weren’t part of any major music movement. Maybe there was a murmur about an underground occult-rock thing going on at the time. But that was at such a low level that wouldn’t have affected people in general.
But then a lot of kudos and credit I must give to (Guns N’ Roses bassist) Duff McKagan, (Metallica’s) James Hetfield, Phil Anselmo, Jerry Cantrell from Alice in Chains and Dave Grohl, of course. All those guys took us on tours. They lifted up the band Ghost, onto their stages and put us in front of a lot of people. Without that, this wouldn’t have happened.

Dirty pouges
(Y/N pov)
Kie and I grabbed the cups while the boys grabbed the kegger and the pump. We all hopped and headed over the fallen tree trunks and started assembling things.
JJ was testing the kegger by spraying the beer on John B's face which caused all of us to burst out in laughter.
JJ then filled a variety of cups with beer and handed them out you us. "Here you go princess" He said while handing me a cup.
"Cheers," we all said while clinking our cups together.
As time went on more and more people stating approaching, which led each of us pouges conversing with different people.
While JJ and I were talking to each other about music and t.v shows. "Okay but Would you rather listen to music for the rest of your life or T.V?" JJ questioned me wanting to see what I would say. "Oh obviously music, music is my everything if I didn't have Justin Bieber I would be dead." I said with a chuckle but being serious. " what about you music or T.V?" I asked repeating his question. "Probably T.V." JJ replied. "Okay Would you rather kiss me or John B?" JJ asked dying to know my answer. Without hesitation, I answered "you."
"Oh really? Prove it.. kiss me right here right now." JJ said with a smirk on his face as he leaned in closer to me. I leaned in, I could feel his breath on my face, he put his hand on my face and kissed me it felt perfect like the kiss was meant to be. My hands danced through his silky smooth hair.
We, unfortunately, pulled apart for air while he rested his head on my forehead and smiled at me
"Why don't we head over to John B and the rest of the gang. "JJ suggests.
"Yeah sure," I reply trying to hide my giant smile
"Yo, what's up? I got this for you. Want it?" JJ said while offering his cup to John B.
"For me? Yeah, I'll take a sip." John b said accepting the cup from JJ's hand.
"Oh, wait. Hey, hey. Sarah! Can I interest you in a tasty Milwaukee beverage?" JJ said taking back the cup from his best friend. "Mmm, no, thanks," Sarah said trying to leave
"No. We were just leaving." Her not-so Pleasant boyfriend Topper said.
"Hey, you know what? I'll take it. Thank you man I appreciate it." Topper says while reaching for the cup.
"That's actually nice, Topper, but I didn't ask you. If you said pretty please, maybe, but you didn't." JJ half-jokingly replied. "Yeah, Sarah you can have it," JJ said extending the cup for her to accept which she took but then Topper thought it would be funny to throw it in JJ's face which caused the cup to spill everywhere including myself.
"You little bitch." I snapped back at him while trying to wipe away the substance from my eyes. "Sorry about that, princess," Topper said laced with sarcasm.
"Oh, that's it," JJ says while lunging at topper grabbing his shirt collar. "Don't EVER touch her again! You hear me!" JJ said yelling in his face.
"Hey!" John B says to JJ trying to calm hIm down.
"Dirty pogues," Topper says while trying to insult us.
John B shoves JJ out of his way while he pushed Topper.
"John B, we're supposed to be incognito remember?" Pope says reminding John b of what they agreed on.
As topper starts approaching John b ready to throw a punch, Sarah starts pleading "Babe, babe, babe, babe!"
"JJ we have to do something," I said to him while staring at the fight unfolding in front of our eyes.
"Guys. Guys! Chill." Sarah pleaded the young boys.
"John B don't make me drown you like your old man all right?" Topper taunts John b while kicking him in the stomach causing John b to fall into the water.
As soon as he said that, John B, immediately stood up and pounced on Topper and pushed him into the water.
"John B let it go, man!" Pope tried pleading with John b. "Stop you guys!" Kie calls out to the boys.
"Topper stop!" Sarah said demanded her boyfriend.
Topper punched John b hard enough causing jb to trip and fall.
"Stop" Kiara pleaded to the boys again.
Topper runs towards John b trying to tackle him to the ground but instead, he gets tackled by John b.
"Come on, Topper! Let's go! Come on!"John B egged on topper. Topper stood up and punched John b causing him to fall to the ground.
Topper starts drowning John b which caused all Of us freaking out even more fearing for John b.
I turned to notice JJ running towards topper with something in his hands. "JJ no please." I try pleading with my best friend. JJ then pressed the gun against the back of Topper's head, causing him to stop drowning, John B. "Yeah, you know what that is. Your move broski." JJ warned topper.
"JJ put the gun down.' Sarah tried pleading with JJ and his actions. "Did you say, something princes?" JJ says while looking down at Sarah.
"Y/N, can you check your psycho Boyfriend please?!" Sarah shouted to me.
"Okay, everyone listens up! Get the hell off our side of the island!" JJ yells while firing 2 warning  shots to scare everyone.
"You idiot! Why would you do that?!" Pope said while shoving JJ.
"I'm saving his life okay?!" JJ protested trying to defend himself.
"John B!" I said As I rush to him seeing him fall back into the water. The rest of the crew look at me and rushed over to help get John b up Rushing back to the chateau.
After getting John b in bed, kie and pope decide it would be best to head home. Which left JJ and  I alone. "Hey JJ I think I'm gonna head home I'm running out of insulin and I probably should get some rest it's been a long crazy day," I said while lifting my head off his shoulder.
"Oh Okay why don't I walk you home?" JJ says while getting up from the couch we were sitting on and extending his hand for me to get up off the couch. " I would love that," I said while accepting his hand.
After a little while of small talk, JJ says while stopping his tracks in the road" look Y/N about earlier on the boat your bruises.. where are they from?" JJ asks with a worried look on his face. I contemplated lying to JJ or telling the truth but I can't keep lying to him. it's time to just come clean.
"JJ- I couldn't even finish I started crying. He instantly grabs my body and engulfs me in a big hug. "Hey sh sh sh it's okay I'm here I'm not gonna let anyone or anything hurt you," JJ says while stroking my hair and rubbing my back. "It's it's my dad JJ." Is all I could get out which was enough for JJ. "Hey it's okay, I won't let him hurt you anymore" JJ says reassuring me.
"I love you Y/N," JJ says while looking into my e/c eyes. "I love you too JJ," I replied looking into his beautiful blue eyes that I could get lost in.
As we approach my house JJ noticed my fear to which he grabs my hand and squeezes it a little reassuring me everything will be okay.
We get to my front steps and JJ asks if I will be okay and If I want him to come inside.
I responded by nodding my head not wanting JJ and my dad to get into an altercation or worse.
"Okay if anything happens you come over to my house okay?" JJ asks while embracing me in a hug and kissing my cheeks.
"Goodnight j," I said while opening the door. "Goodnight beautiful sleep well," JJ says while waving and walking down my steps.

☧ – ; Diplomatic trips were always made with contingencies for the unexpected, especially of the dangerous kind. Therein lay the problem; sometimes, despite all planning, things went wrong. He was nearly seventeen now, though it didn't really show in any obvious ways. Still youthful in looks and wide-eyed, his befreckled face was soft and his clerical life lent him the lithe frame he'd always had, the only real difference being the slightest broadening of shoulders (this could have been how he'd adjusted his manner of carrying himself), and a few inches grown in height. It had come to be a sort of tradition that when these trips took him to Albion, after Papal duties were fulfilled and Alessandro XVIII had retired, at least one of the evenings would be spent slipped from his rooms and incognito, to go and be amongst the people as just a young man, a tourist blown in from Rome, here only for a night. This evening, however, would not be one of those. News of his arrival in Londinium had circulated for weeks before he had actually gotten here, and it seemed a small group of men had used the opportunity. They were covert in their movements, catching up to Alessandro while he browsed an open-air shop in Covent Garden, the boy Pope barely able to get away, ducking down a dark alley, in his desperation taking refuge in a half-underground stairway, descending it until the darkness overtook him. Still backing towards the lowest wall, he bumped into something --- or rather, someone, breath catching in his throat when he froze, his terror in the moment causing his words to come out in his mother tongue. "Vi prego, aiutatemi, sono in pericolo."* * "Please help me, I'm in danger."
