31. Farm And one more self indulgent picture as well as plenty colored for the finale! I’m setting this after the Hisui nuzlocke, so Ismerie and Ingo are back in the present and with their close ones!

All pokemon depicted here (apart from Ingo’s chandelure, Emmet’s joltik, Elesa’s tynamo and the hisuian sneasel as I haven’t finished the nuzlocke yet, so I don’t know if she’ll actually have one ^^’) are Ismerie’s, from her various journeys. Another comic for Reverse!Submas Ages AU. This is Set post-PLA, and is young!Ingo and old!Emmet !

This came about cause I have many ideas of crying Emmet comics - and Ingo needed a crying comic idea too! Plus I had the idea that Ingo hides to cry in secret because he doesn’t want to affect Emmet with this sorrow he feels thats a direct result from their situation :)!

This comic was conceptualized while talking to @belltrigger X) who i hope I did a one-hit KO on HAHA!

I've never talked about it, but I think it's pretty obvious in my drawings. Warden Ingo is far less confident and sure of himself. I draw him looking concerned or worried more often than not, especially if it's anything remotely sexy/seductive/enticing. Whereas I typically draw younger Ingo as smiling and more comfortable in those same situations.

Even if Warden Ingo has confidence in his relationship with pokemon and his abilities, I feel like that doesn't extend to his relationship with people and Certainly Not to his relationship with Emmet.

Ingo had confidence in everything. He was proud of his job, proud of his voice and articulation, proud of his skill, proud of his ability to be a strong and hopefully comforting and safe presence to the passengers and workers at Gear Station. And he felt secure and confident in his relationship with Emmet. And regardless of anything else, he wasn't shy about himself with Emmet, there was never any reason to be.

After being pulled from his time, pulled from his home, and had his memories gone, there was really not much for him to fall back on. His skills with pokemon were undeniable, and there was room to be confident in that, he's basically a disney princess with his relationship to Alpha Pokemon without catching them. But his relationship with people? That wasn't so easy. Treated as an outsider and not even really having a grasp on Who He Is, there was no way for him to find or build that confidence again. There is no unconditional affection here, he has to work for any kind glance or warmth from anyone. And without having much to build up on, of course he tries but he is still an unsettling stranger with a muddled past and mysterious origin. People loved him in Unova, here he has to prove himself. Its no wonder he clings to the idea of the Man in White, something that he knows ties him to a past where he is wanted and welcome.

Eventually going home and even regaining his memories doesn't erase his experience in Hisui. Even with the joyous welcome home and Emmet's unconditional love, he's had to live who knows how many years carving out a life for himself where he had to fight to be accepted. Its an adjustment to feel wanted this much, and that doesn't automatically fix things. And especially when it comes to Emmet, so much about him has changed. His body, his mind, his attitude. So he can't be confident anymore. He doesn't think Emmet will reject him or think badly of him, but he's older and scarred and he doesn't have the body Emmet knew from before. And while he did much for survival, he isn't proud of his body. He doesn't think of himself as attractive and so he feels the attitude and outfits and such he had when he was younger can no longer suit him, he's not worthy of that anymore.

He'll get better with it over time. With Emmet's insistence that Ingo is just as attractive as he's always been, maybe even more, and his scars do not detract from that. Ingo has to find confidence in himself again, it'll just be a process. In the meantime, he'll get nervous, anxious and embarrassed about being babygirled but I'll keep doing it-
