"This next song that we're gonna do is one that is about how maybe in our lives, if we've ever been let down, or things haven't turned out the way that we wanted them to in relationships, how oftentimes we then kind of have this sort of phantom fear of like, tragedy. Like, phantom tragedy, where you're like… if you ever find something really great, um, or a situation that is solid, or a situation where your trust isn't being broken, sometimes you have to deal with your demons from all those times that it didn't work, and you have to kind of stop yourself from thinking that the worst is always going to happen. And this is a song that kind of touches on, you know, anxiety and just how to break patterns and cycles that aren't healthy, because we learn a lot in life, and some of the lessons are good, and some of the habits are good, and some of the habits are bad, so um, it's a song basically about having to unlearn some bad lessons that you… that you learned in the past."

Prev. message board anon here. Managed to dig out some old screenshots. I've copied and pasted them here as don't want to come off anon. These are mainly related to Alex and were posted by the sound engineer (I think). They're just random messages, not in any sort of order. Enjoy!
matt kinda says hi (he's half asleep, poor guy) ive managed to survive another night with the guys, and sucessfully cooked dinner. as a reward they took me to the pub...nice one
theyre more like extended family. (al's gone home, jammie's still on't playstation with my bro and matts curled up asleep in my room, he looks like a cat) FINALLY I HAVE SOME PEACE AND QUIET!!!!!!!! yay!!! *me doing a little dance in joy*
if that happened, hed prolly try n find you a chair (he's kind like that) and then hed stand there and panic about what to do.
yeah. it was bad wasnt it. got to the stage where we were all making fun, leaving little post-its with "get a haircut" written on, and generally begging him to get a haircut. he did it eventually, and now he looks hot again and less like a scarecrow. thank god!
alex update: he is wondering what to have for lunch.
no. not yet. hes having a gingerbreadman while he thinks about it.
hes gone off to find timm to find out what time were having dinner (because our schedule for the days changed). he said if he knows when dinner is, then he can make a proper decision on lunch - whether he wants a snack or a whole meal......
alex update: him n jammie are sat on the edge of the stage looking at the choice of songs theyve been given for their performance on Radio 1's Live Lounge on monday. theyre gonna do brianstorm, and they have to pick one of the four songs theyve been given to cover. theyre choosing now...
alex update: he's scurrying about looking for a cd he lost. to be honest it could be anywhere. its not very tidy at the moment.... and i think someone mentioned watching anchorman later.....
alex update: reading a book (well hes trying to, but matt keeps distracting him....) and hes trying to think what the best sandwich in teh world is (thats matts question of the day)
alex update: he's sat in't corner writing summat and on the phone. im always curious when i see him writing, cuz i automatically assume that hes writing lyrics - and then i start thinking about what he's done today to think what the song might be about and then i really, really, really want to hear how it would go......all this, and then i ask him what he's writing and he shows me that he's either doing a crossword, or writing a cd shopping list, or summat dissapointing....
alex update: seemed quite happy when we last saw him. think he's gone to change. and i think he's coming out later. not sure if he'll be out with us though. he doesnt really know mal and cookies mates. they were in the year above us at school...
alex update: he's all packed and sat on the sofa reading the article about AM in this weeks NME. by his facial expressions, i can't work out what he thinks about it..... :S
alex update: ............ there are no words to describe him today.
he's sat out in the sun with everyone, and he's the most relaxed and normal that i've seen him in soooo very long i think he's so relieved that the album did well and people like it. he just looks relaxed and, dare i say it............. HAPPY. :) he deserves it.
alex update: he's most defniatly asleep. he had a busy night last night, and last time i saw him the poor thing was asleep on his feet...
alex update - the only one of the fab four that i can see at the mo. i asked him what he's doing so i could report on it, and he said "dont just say im lying on the floor waiting for the microwave. that sounds reet boring. say 'im reclining on the carpet in a relaxed fashion, clasping a piece of toast waiting for my beans to be done , and im donning my shades in a classy way' ....yeah, that makes it sound a bit better. or do i just sound like a knobhead? okay, cut that bit out. just say....just say im eating. again. im always eating when youre typing......hmmm"
and that was all i could get from the fascinating Mr Turner, before the microwave "pinged"....
alex update: he's chilling with miles and some friends, havign a drink and watching some bands.
after the set, we all got a little bi too drunk, met up with James Ford (producer, and from simian mobile disco), james + simon (klaxons), lily allen, lovefoxx, a kook and some others (there was about 20 of us) and we wanted to go out at night to Lost Vague-ness (the most random field at glastonbury) but they didnt want to be noticed and harrassed, so we hired these random costumes. alex was a dinosaur, james was a swan, there was a chicken, a moose, me and lily were mushrooms...... was truley hilarious.
[its not really "news" but we just had a fight. a proper standing in the rain, shouting ourselves hoarse, having to be separated argument. thats the only problem with me and al, were too similar. SO stubborn, and a tendency to take things too personally and get a bit irrational. the basics, i was trying to be a good friend and tell him summat, he wasnt listening, we both said things we prolly shouldn't have, and then were taken away to calm down. it'll all be fine by the morning, thats just how we roll. but for tonight, im not gonna pretend were okay.]
the internet was once such a wild and lawless place

Is it really a big deal??? Have they never played any of louis solo music even once??? Am trying to understand if they played once before then how it would make difference if they played one more time now? It has to be consistent…
UK fans say that local radio stations do occasionally play a Louis Tomlinson song, but they never play Louis on official BBC Radio programs.
The weeks after Faith In The Future was the UK #1 album (beating Bruce Springsteen), BBC Radio had a daily special to highlight the FITF, and they played two FITF songs per night (between midnight and 6 AM) for seven nights. That was the total sum of play on the BBC.
Liam, Zayn, Harry, and Niall have all been on BBC Live Lounge (Harry three times, Niall twice, I believe). Not Louis.
Liam, Zayn, Harry, and Niall have all had singles rotated on BBC Radio One and Two playlists. Not Louis after Back To You.
Of all of these men, Louis is the only one who has performed live for a charity for the BBC.

Alex Turner on the Arctic Monkeys' musical evolution
By Mark Savage (published on October 22 2022)
Alex Turner is out of breath.
The Arctic Monkeys frontman has just blazed through a guitar solo on Body Paint - the swaggering, Bowie-esque centrepiece of their new album, The Car - on TV institution Later with Jools Holland.
"You've parched me out there," he pants. "Could someone get me a water?"
Unusually, the Arctics are the only band in the studio. For the first time in 15 years, the show is devoting an entire episode to a single act - an honour reserved for rock legends like REM, Radiohead, Metallica and Oasis.
Turner and his band-mates appreciate the enormity of the situation. They film additional takes and switch up their setlist to ensure the new music is conveyed with appropriate punch and panache.
"Gotta make this one count," says Turner as the recording runs into its second hour. "We'll do an acoustic one, and then Born To Run."
The promised Springsteen cover never materialises. Nor does the band's hellraising 2007 hit Brianstorm, despite guitarist Jamie Cook idly bashing out the riff between takes. But, with almost twice as much Monkey business as they'd bargained for, the audience leaves on a high.
"I enjoyed it a great deal," agrees Turner, on the phone to the BBC a couple of days later. "I'm a big fan of that show and I have been for a long time, even before we put the band together."
In fact, his highlight in the run-up to the show was getting access to the Later vaults, to pick a performance that influenced him for broadcast on the show.
"I kind of lost myself in the archive back there for a minute, Mark, to be honest with you," he says. "I found myself gravitating to performances from 2002 and going, 'Oh God, yeah, I remember seeing that and getting excited about it.'"
Of course, 2002 is the year the Arctic Monkeys formed in Sheffield, where all four members were pupils of Stocksbridge High School.
Turner and guitarist Jamie Cook had only received their first guitars a year earlier, as Christmas presents from their parents. The first song they wrote was called "Matt Dave Rock Song" - named for a singer who subsequently left the band, and which they subsequently described as "junk" and "total crap".
But they progressed at speed, developing a sharp, nervy sound full of searing riffs and witty, literate lyrics. By 2005, people were eagerly swapping bootlegs, demos and gossip on dedicated message boards.
When their first album, Whatever People I Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, arrived in 2006 it became the UK's fastest-selling debut of all time, just weeks after Turner's 20th birthday.
Arctic Monkeys were suddenly the most written-about, talked-about rock band of their generation.
They responded by closing ranks.
Back-slapping events like the Brit Awards were avoided, the band accepting prizes in mailed-in videos, dressed as characters from The Wizard of Oz. When they played Radio 1's Live Lounge, they subverted their "rock saviour" image by covering Katy B's On A Mission and Girls Aloud's Love Machine.
"I can't really remember the impetus behind that decision," reflects Turner, "but it was a lot of fun".
Musically, Arctic Monkeys went from strength to strength, particularly on the hard-hitting Humbug (2009) and the leather-jacketed rock of AM (2013).
They last graced the charts in 2018 with the space-jazz concept album Tranquillity Base Hotel & Casino, which explored themes of consumerism and politics through the concept of a luxury resort on the moon.
Turner composed its languid, meandering songs on piano, declaring the guitar "had lost its ability to give me ideas".
Critics were divided. Rolling Stone called the album "indulgent", but Q Magazine thought it was "strange and wonderful". Fans sent the album to number one, but it's the only Arctic Monkeys record not to be certified platinum.
Released on Friday, The Car is tighter and more immediate than its predecessor but it spins in the same sonic universe.
Opening track There'd Better Be A Mirror Ball is all woozy keyboards and staccato string stabs, while Jet Skis On The Moat sees Turner slip on his velvet jacket for a brooding lounge-pop ballad.
"I made a big deal about the piano on the last record," says the singer, "but when I look at it now, the shift in sound between that record and the one before [AM] is more to do with the fact that my writing process [changed] around that time".
In the Arctic Monkeys' first decade, he explains, he'd take a song "into a rehearsal room and work out how it goes with the band". That's gradually become more insular, with Turner building up songs in his home studio until he feels they're ready.
"So the piano had a part in it, but being able to record myself and write to those recordings is perhaps what got us into this mess."
That's not the only thing that's changed.
"I can vaguely remember times in the past where I've been struck with the inspiration and written something quite quickly, but it feels like that happens less these days," he says. "But I'm not worried if it takes a little bit longer."
In fact, some of the musical motifs on The Car percolated for three years before he "persuaded them to be a pop song".
Among them was the instrumental refrain of Big Ideas, a gorgeous electric piano melody that "felt like it had aspirations to be a movie theme".
"It hung around for ages, that melody, and I'd play it whenever I found myself sitting at a piano [until] one of the band asked, 'Is that one of yours?'
"And that's about as excited as they get," he jokes.
Their enthusiasm encouraged him to build the passage into a song that describes a songwriter's (favourite) worst nightmare.
"I had big ideas... the kind you'd rather not share over the phone," Turner sings. "But now the orchestra's got us all surrounded and I can't for the life of me remember how they go."
It's one of many lyrics that hint at instability and dislocation.
The music, meanwhile, reflects his emotional turbulence. The band often sound like they're fighting to be heard - bursting through an orchestral swell to gasp for air, only to be dragged under the surface again.
"There was much discussion and deliberation" about those "push and pull dynamics", Turner says.
Some tracks, like Sculptures, were recorded with several different arrangements, then reconstructed in the mix.
The track was born when guitarist Jamie Cook wired a Moog synthesizer up to a drum machine, creating an ominous, industrial sound. Then it "went on its own journey", evolving into a full-band recording, before the original idea reasserted itself.
On the finished version, "it's almost like there's a button for the band and you press it and they step in for a bar, then they disappear back and you're in that synthesizer place," Turner explains.
"That, of course, is not the kind of idea that I would have had before we started. That's something that revealed itself during the process.
"So I'm thrilled that you mentioned the dynamics because that's something we attempted to explore and get a handle on this time. And yeah, I think I think we did a better job in that respect, than we did last time around."
Back on stage in Alexandra Palace, Arctic Monkeys are still figuring out how to play the new material live, taking a couple of passes at the funky, sqawkbox riffs of I Ain't Quite Where I Think I Am before they're satisfied.
Without a string section, the songs become harder, more full-blooded - giving an idea of how they'll nestle up to Fluorescent Adolescent and RU Mine on tour.
And while some bands (cough, Radiohead, cough) abandon their old hits when they settle on a new sound, Turner has no such inclination.
"There's certain numbers from the early records that I should think we would continue to keep playing. And there are other numbers we haven't played for a while that we could imagine knocking the dust off. "
"Nothing has been ruled out," he concludes. "Although Love Machine might be a stretch."

Radio 1 posted a video throwback to 1d on Live Lounge in 2015 and included a long close up of Harry singing and then brief clips of Liam and Niall singing but no footage of Louis Floplinson! Rats are crying in the quotes.
Ha ha ha! BBC Radio 1 really is the gift that keeps on giving.

Hi @domwhoreward!! Thanks for this, it was fun, it was hard! It gave me an excuse to think about Muse a lot :P
1. What's your favourite live performance?
It’s so hard to pick… I will try answering this as favourite live shows in general, and specific songs I thought were freakishly good at a particular gig. I can't say any one is my one-and-only favourite because as soon as I hit publish, something else will land into my head and I won't be able to pick 😅
I think New Born live at the Mayan in 2015 is contender for one of the best recent live performances of the song, and the Mayan for one of their best live gigs overall! Pitch perfect. That show took my breath away. It’s also got the coolest outro on Assassin that is so heavy and just bonkers good, and Chris' backing vocals on Apocalypse Please (!!). Good gig. Everything about this gig was great. Madness live in the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge, 2012! Popcorn on Taratata, just because they’re having so much fun it makes the performance 25x more fun to watch! Space Dementia live at Pinkpop 2002! One day I will go digging and find that clip again, but Matt had the smuggest grin on his face having nailed that piano chorus outro. Showoff lol. They were excellent at that show! And of course, Glastonbury 2004. Wembley 2007. Unmatched quality. They're an excellent live band; like 97% of their gigs are of the quality that most bands would clamour to call the pinnacle of their own careers. It's a normal night for Muse. No one comes close.
Tumblr media
(This Warchild UK performance is a strong contender too)
[This isn't technically a live gig but an in-store signing session, but I can see the raised eyebrows coming if I don't mention it because it is literally in my url for a reason - 1999 HMV Bristol in-store acoustic set. Sunburn, Cave, Muscle Museum. So good.]
16. Favourite Chris pic?
Ooh, this q is just asking for a Chris photo dump!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some silly and cute baby era pics I really like!
Chris goth girl era from when Muse were in school (from the Origin of Muse booklet!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look at Chris swinging about!
Tumblr media
Babysitting Matt with an NME award, what a sweetheart. Just want to mention what the article reviewing one of these gigs said: "While many gigs have ended with the guitars being thrown into the drums, this is the first time I've seen the bassist throw the guitarist at the drums." He big.
And just generally, smiley Chris pics are the best! Some other assorted pics from gigs and such that I like:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The drama in the first two! And Chris looking out for Dom, and just chilling with the band ♥️♥️
One of my absolute favourites though, and I’m biased towards this because Time Is Running Out at Wembley was one of the earliest Muse performances I saw when I first got into the band— this cemented my love for them! It’s got to be the moment at the end of the extended improvised Jimmy Jam riff intro to TIRO where Chris lifts his bass and points it to the crowd. Instantly changed my life. Infinitely cool. You want to be him. So that (series of image frames put into a gif) is my favourite picture of Chris!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Honorary mention: your pictures of Chris from this tour, which are excellent!!
19. Favourite photoshoot of the band?
I am a little crazy about most of their Black Holes era promotional work! That coordinated black-and-white shirts and coat jackets with braces look was such a vibe:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One of my favourites out of those is this surreal artsy photoshoot they did where they all pretended to have died (Dom probably did the most realistic job of it… Matt and Chris just looked like peacefully sleeping angels lol)
Tumblr media
This Q photoshoot, of course:
Tumblr media
Pink shirt photoshoot:
Tumblr media
This one photoshoot, I don’t know when it’s from exactly but I loved the composition of it. Blue skies overhead, band unbothered, Matt in aviators. Lovely vibe, I had it in a folder of pictures I meant to print as posters for the longest time when I was younger!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And this one Resistance era photoshoot (that ended up on the album sleeve). I so badly wanted this as the full-length poster, but I was one era too late to the band. This one's my favourite!
Tumblr media
21. Favourite wtf moment in an interview?
A few lol. The whole entire 2011 NME awards drunk interview (he's heading for gweatness, he's getting there but it's an uphill stwuggle), "pair of pink fluffy handcuffs" interview, "come to our gigs, anything could happen, I could kill Dom, I could get naked and fuck Chris" interview, "Dom's still doing lines of coke off models' tits" interview, deflated balls interview, fan interview where Matt insisted on having the socks the fans gifted them, and on the topic of socks:

(I have hit the 30 image limit, incredibly; I answered this last)
All the shit he said in Black Holes-era interviews... ([On being asked if the Queen was hot] "You know, when she was younger, in her prime. She might not look great on the £50 note, but she had her glory days.")
There are so many with this band!
34. Have you met any of the band (/if not, any favourite fan interaction/gig stories)?
Haven't met the band unfortunately, I'd be a changed person if I did I think. Meeting Muse will fix me (<- lies; it will break up and shake up my entire core I think).
But the gifts fans give them are always a favourite moment of mine! The fan giving Dom the Slipknot mask that gave us "sit the fuck down!" (well, she actually gave it to Matt, but he passed it on to Dom). The various shirts with edits of Dom fans have gifted Matt that he's worn on the road.
My favourite live interactions: when Muse interact with the crowd, play to them, smile at them (especially when Matt sings Starlight straight to fans in the front!), when they come down to the barricade. Chris going crowdsurfing at Glastonbury 2004.
These moments:

This last one isn't an interaction per se, but while we're on the subject of fans I must add this because it melts my heart into a puddle on the floor:

35. Favourite Muse moment that's overused in the fandom to literal meme status (e.g. fuck off you cunt, Soldier's Poem was on Absolution, anything at all from Panic Station, Hey You Crazy Kids!, etc.)
I am not immune to a bit of
youtube
To this day I still use Matt/Chris/Dom from Muse as my tag for all their silly moments and shenanigans because it still cracks me up, every single time. I've never been able to watch this video with a straight face, it'll never be overused to me 😅
48. Have you made friends through Muse fan communities?
😊😊😊😊😊♥️♥️♥️ yes, I have! I met all of you, had the best gig of my life, and made some amazing friends that have stuck by me outside of just Muse fan-ning together!

"One of my favorite things that happens in the Live Lounge is a cover song, and I spent a lot of time trying to pick which cover song to do with this one. I just had this album come out called 'Lover', where I was really experiencing and exploring a lot of different types of love and that was what I was drawn to when I was writing. So I think that, for this cover song, I wanted to choose a song that I felt really expressed an interesting, beautiful, exquisite type of love. The cover song that I've chosen is 'Can't Stop Loving You' by Phil Collins. I love this song so much! I love it so much. Ever since it came out, like, I remember driving around when I first had my driver's license in Nashville, just driving around just screaming the words to this song. And I think that the type of love that this song sings about is unconditional love. People say that term all the time, and they kind of think that they know what unconditional love is, but I think true, unconditional love is like, do you love someone so much that you would even love them if they didn't love you anymore? Like that is unconditional love. And so, that's what this song sings about. It's literally the most sad, beautiful song ever, and I'm really stoked to be able to cover it today. So this is 'Can't Stop Loving You' by Phil Collins."

Jorja Smith Mesmerizes in Live Lounge with Harry Styles' "As It Was" Performance
Jorja Smith, the celebrated singer hailing from Walsall, delivered a captivating performance on Radio 1’s Live Lounge this week. In celebration of her latest album, “falling or flying,” she took a break to treat her audience to a breathtaking rendition of Harry Styles’ “As It Was.” Backed by a live band, Jorja Smith’s performance was nothing short of remarkable. Her rendition of “As It Was” not…

Hey , I wanna ask you since you're British,What the GP think about Jungkook since his appearance in "bbc lounge" and "the one show "
I think I'll have to reserve judgement on his reaction, because
However, it's clear BTS and JK have a following in the UK, otherwise he wouldn't have gotten on to Live Lounge the One Show. My guess, BH have done their research and know JK does well here. Plus I think his sense of humour, and personality is very European rather than US.
Plus, Dynamite, Butter and My Universe get played regularly on the radio (even queer radio stations). I think we'll if the GP have took to him, if his song is still played on key radio stations in the UK in 6 months' time, which I think it will.
One thing that does show engagement is how he's viewed in the press. Here's a sample:
He even made some local press outlets which I find more interesting as Local Press rarely do these unless there a local aspect to it or their readers interested in these types of articles:
