Regarding The Ravenheart Family Crest

I've always had the feeling my Ravenheart Family Crest was inspired by something I'd seen before a long time ago and I finally figured out what! It's from an old anime I used to watch all the time called Kyo Kara Maou and this symbol belongs to a secret organization called the "White Crows/Ravens" from season 3 of the series. Just wanted to share this little fun fact with you guys after I finally made the connection!

Here’s the time lapse for what I started working on two hours ago and just finished. All done on procreate. This is completely new to me a took some figuring out, but I’m pretty happy with the results. I decided last night that I would design a gold coin with the family crest of Ezmerelda’s biological family. I figured it would be fitting since, before she started adventuring, she was known as Nemea Ravenheart, one of the heirs to the royal throne. And this is what the gold coins she’s carrying would look like.  Any critiques would be wonderful!

When I was messing around with Owen’s family crest I got this idea that whenever his grimoire is sealed, the crest looks like this until its contents are unlocked again by his blood in which case the raven on the left flips back up to form the full image again.

I figured this deserved one last redo to make it look nicer! It’s Owen’s family crest before their last name was changed to Ravenwood, originally it was Ravenheart.

This still isn't quite how I imagine it in my head but its one of those things where I had to decide that less is more and not go overboard with the details. It turned out amazing either way! All the main features are there such as the runes around the edges and the Ravenheart family crest on the front. As a bonus, I remembered an old trick that helped me make a lot of it look like it was pressed or carved directly into the leather covering of this ancient tome to protect it and the secrets contained within. Got my wish from before when I first made this, the Ravenheart family crest, it's much more streamlined and looks much better. Still, I went through a lot of rough drafts before settling on this one. Might redraw the first one though since it’s still a cool design.

Took some time to edit from a previous crest idea but I think I’ve come up with a good one. So here we are, the Ravenheart Family Crest. I wish it was more streamlined but it’ll have to suffice for now since I’m so tired.

Finally decided to make a colored version of the Ravenheart family crest, as there’s now a chance that Ez might end up meeting her biological family. I’m no good with color theory, but I’d say this was a good job on my part.

I’ll share the custom made resources later but I’d say this was a successful test of what the front gate to Ravenheart Manor would look like in chapter 46 of “The Grimoire.” Although in the chapter everything starts off covered in snow and the Blood Blossoms are always in bloom even out of season since they’re not ordinary flowers but oh well! Also, fyi for the upcoming custom tiles, I recolored and edited several different things from different sources for my use in this fangame so if the creator sees anything familiar please let me know so I know who to credit for the original. A few parts are original works of mine though, like the pixel version of the Ravenheart family crest.All I did was recolor the banner and put the crest on.
