Also way more importantly I am loving the Tashigi x Reiju art I'm seeing because of the new cover spread. I'd love to come up with ideas for them I do think about Reiju a lot. Hm I think there's some opportunity for a Ghibli-style "I changed as a person for the better because I met you" type of Epic Romance.... Tashigi finally getting it through her head that The Navy is evil when they work with Germa. Reiju being inspired by Tashigi to hold herself to a higher moral standard and fight for what she thinks is right.

The biggest issue is I think they are both, if not outright self-destructive, don't value and respect themselves enough to keep themselves out of degrading situations. Smoker is incredibly disrespectful to Tashigi, as are other Navy higher ups. Obviously Reiju's whole situation with her family is abysmal. Actually you know what that solves itself because they'd end up being outraged at how the other one is allowing herself to be treated and when one yells at the other to value herself more she gets a fuckin "you first!!!" in response. Forced improvement by mutual knife holding.

Hmm.. I think this has legs.

Nono, you get it wrong. They still haven't interacted, have they? A color spread doesn't count. They are def a crack ship no matter how many fics there are. The amount of fics they have is only a factor when they've interacted quite a bit and I'm in doubt about their crackyness. Reishigi is definitely still a crack ship.
