Now the following is proper news reporting in sport media. I will start with my usual, no GOAT exists and if I had and have any power in any league or club I will completely delete all non singular statistical awards.
Now to the fifa best 2023
The fifa best final round only allows three players, and voting is based on
captains of flag teams whose vote each count for five point pg 5 to 11 of pdf linked below, very biased, you can see alot in those votes on the players location, allegiances, i argue the captains just aren't good enough to be selectors. i rather flag teams vote but we all know why that will get wild.
coaches the sad thing here is most flag teams don't hire domestic coaches, so that corrupts this entire ranking system, people ask how osimhen gets so little, well :) why you don't see AFC players well… a domestic only coaching mandate for flag teams would help pg 12 to 17
media is made up of one person per country but media is so flawed. Anyone who looks at media around any sport can easily see that most of the well known people have clear negative + positive biases that they can't hide. People who want to get on sky sports and be pundits on espn and et cetera, are going to vote for non uefa? when this is all public record. pg18-23
fans which is a count from the website, this is the phoniest part. No way is haaland or mbappe ever going to have more fans than messi who is their senior by significant years. Consider this, Mbappe + Haaland had to move from their first paid contract team for larger contracts, messi didn't have to, messi was adored for that , like if he had played for el che he would had stayed at el che. Fandom sadly is too guided or manipulated to be a fair ground.
In conclusion, the scoring that was most even was from the coaches. The captains/media/fans had the largest displacements between players. for example haaland got more media points than messi + mbappe combined. Messi got more fan points than haaland + mbappe combined. Messi + haaland each received enough captains votes to double mbappes. The funny thing is mbappe has made it two the last two world cup finals:) is that envy from the other captains.
In the end, Haaland drew with Messi, I argue that should had meant they share it but… the larger point is all these awards are meant to suggest a lie, and no arithmetic structure will ever validate a GOAT or Greatest. Listen folks, teams win the trophies that matter most, the players get medals for being on those teams, case closed.

My Best Pitch
The goal is to play on a team when older. Dribble , dribble, the control is more important than power. The concrete isn't grass. The hydrant isn't a defender. Th car isn't a net. But I imagine them so. A pass from Pele or from myself. Alone in front of my building, the songbirds give a cheering. Dribble dribble, foot to knee to other foot. Repeat no matter the misstep. Again and again, my favorite stadium or training ground, is the public space in front of the tenement i most know. And, to the goal. I don't know. I will train later today, work for a dream tomorrow. For now, my parents called me and breakfast.

Becko Nascimento on the show Suprise Punk

I have never been so close to Becko live. He was the Surprise Punk to a packed house in the grand casa futebol made in the pacific ocean by the AFC. I appeared in daft punk costume as well, so he didn't notice. I even got a finger in my shot. I liked his rendtion of Around The World.

Round, Tight, Shiny dream
Round, an opaque plastic coating about a painted plastic cavity, imitating sewn balls of yore.
Tight, the air inside pushed in by an air pump an hour ago.
Shiny, unused, any light: refract through, absorb in, reflect off a slight glare.
It is in my hands, and I set it down to the ground. I step back and think. After moments, I step forward and kick it.
The little street dog with brown fur and a scraggly white beard notice, the ball in initial movement, already wondering where it will land. Though, I should had known it. Now settled after I kicked it. I imagine a stadium in the community where I live, a section in a district in a borough in a city. None exist in reality of course. But, I see my ball flying, not across a second floor window of the building next to mine; but in the free air, in the stadium in my mind. A lone butterfly align to the ball in my sight while cheers from the one stand, I am modest, dream of success. Like all things the ball reached a height and began to come down. Not like a rock but like a dream. Curving slowly into common reality. A car! Oh no, don't connect please. The stadium is already hazy, the fans are obsolete. The old dog stood to see. For a moment I had a winning goal in my community. In a moment, I had glory beating any opposing team keeper. An infinitesimal joy I totally missed. As my dominating fear is to the car that stopped while the ball bounce: off the tar and the street light post and the baby tree over there and the gate into the empty, thank Saint Garrincha, garbage can. A miracle shot which I celebrated with "I'm Sorry" to the driver who went on their way casually. Now I’m walking alone to the round tight shiny thing.

Womens World Cup 2023 Round of 16
Switzerland vs Spain
Last round Spain were beaten by a better technical team. Switzerland isn't that. But Switzerland proved they can fight against an exeprience UEFA side, so Spain is not unknown to them. This is a battle.
Netherlands vs South Africa
Netherlands drew against the USA so a team that can run with the Netherlands or run more than them can put them in the heels. But this is a one off match so both teams will know it is win or go home. South Africa know this current form they are in can't keep a clean sheet so they have to execute sharply in attack.
Japan vs Norway
Nippon last round evaded a big woman team. And beat highly skilled, newbie, or in flux. Norway isn't the most skilled opponent Nippon will have faced, not a newbie. Did Norway knock themselves out of flux with their last match. Norway will prove how narrowly escaped or how slow a starter they are this tournament. Nippon are focused, take no team for granted. Will look to progress and can't show inconsistency, haven't lost and now must win.
Sweden vs USA
This is a battle, Sweden knows who they are and play to who they are. The USA will not have athletic dominance and when the USA doesn't have the ability to override athletically, it becomes rough. Is Sweden is on the rise, Is the USA on the decline?
Australia vs Denmark
Two battling sides. Australia is at home. This is winable. Denmark must be ready for the fight. Can't count denmark out but the crowd might energize Australia.
France vs Morocco
This is like Nigeria versus england... Morocco plus Nigeria have a huge chance for their identity. Morocco knows France ,morocco can beat France. Morocco will show their mentality while France if wise will not be unprepared. Their coach certainly won't underestimate.
England vs Nigeria
England will be familiar with many of the Nigeria players. Can England technically rise as Nigeria have athleticism. Nigeria womens team , if it ever wanted a moment to make a statement, it is now. England like France in Africa is an old enemy, but an enemy that has become idolized as well as hated. A win against England for Nigeria women is a trophy.
Colombia vs Jamaica
Funny how colombia plus Jamaica connect through the caribbean. Jamaica can look aat Morocco and view Colombia as defeatable . Colombia to be a big team has to know how to do both, defeat the big plus the small consistently. Great Battle.

I can't verify this chart. I cite all at the bottom of this post if you want to ask or check.
But, if true, the biggest point to me is the type of player Neymar is.
Take out Cruyff , Neymar is the second closest player to equalling his goals with assist, what does that mean?
Neymar is a big team player, and is willing to have lead assists. And part of this what i saw yesterday. Neymar had a secondary assist.
I wonder how often neymar is involved in the passing sequence of goals in the team he is on. I bet it is very high.
The arguments to neymar being quality are silly. All players at the top flight are quality. The argument that Neymar isn't trying is silly. All players play to win.
But the type of player, strategically, tends to be an absent issue in multilogs around the beautiful. This chart exposes that neymar is a tremendously great player for brazil and a 50/50 player, very balanced in his effect in a game. He isn't playing to score or assist but do what is needed.

Well, Neymar knew, he knew when he was crying on the ground, he knew... Before this season began I said Neymar has an opportunity to have the finest season. To Neymar’s credit , he tried. He was the best player for PSG this season, based on goals+ assist+ defensive recoveries. He scored for Brazil when others didn’t for a lead. But, Croatia defeated Brazil in penalties. And now, PSG may go on to win the UEFA Champions league absent him as a starter for the latter stages or lose while he is not able to play.
I have watched Neymar since a youth at Santos. I am a huge Neymar fan. Few players that people tout today are talismans. Meaning what, they are players who can play anywhere in the forward or midfield lines. Neymar is the best talisman currently playing. But, he has also been the most fouled player in UEFA for over five seasons straight, second only this season to Vinicius jr, who is younger while also brasilian, but a winger/striker.
Neymar has many great seasons ahead but one way or another this summer is big for him. Not in a legacy sense. If PSG win the uefa champions league, neymar had a role in that journey without question. But, Is he tired of being fouled into injury in france or does he want another adventure? IF PSG doesn’t win the uefa champions league knowing him he will want to stay and make it happen. But if PSG wins, he may depart. He has one more big signing and even though media has tried to devalue him, I will love for him to go to a japan or china after PSG , if psg win the uefa champions league.
